“Sit-at-home order have been cancelled” – IPOB

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has cancelled its sit-at-home order in the South-east. The proscribed group had threatened to lock down the region from November 5 to protest the detention of its leader, Nnamdi Kanu.

However, in a statement released this evening, the group through its spokesperson, Emma Powerful, said the sit-at-home order has been cancelled to allow people in Anambra to participate in the governorship election on Saturday.

The statement reads


Following the genuine  intervention of our elders, esteemed traditional Institutions /Rulers and Religious Leaders, and after a due consideration of the positive impacts of their engagement, and sequel to the fact that  Our elders have spoken in our terms , the Leadership of IPOB ably lead by MAZI NNAMDI Kanu hereby and immediately CALL OFF THE ONE WEEK SIT AT HOME earlier declared to commence tomorrow, November 5 to November 10, 2021.

We have equally considered several appeals by our mothers who earn their living based on their daily economic activities which will obviously be affected if Biafra land is locked down for one whole week. It’s never our intention to add to the pains of our people, hence our decision to suspend the sit-at-home.

IPOB leadership is only interested in Our referendum and peaceful agitation for self determination, and can not by under any guise be seen to be interfering with any electoral process. 


The people of Anambra State should go out enmasse and peacefully exercise their franchise come 6th November 20121  and accordingly, chose a leader of their Choice  and should not be intimidated by anybody, group of persons or security agents.


Credible intelligence available to us confirmed that the Nigeria DSS has concluded arrangement to deploy a branch of their trained terrorist group to Anambra state come 6th Day 2021, to unleash mayhem on our people and attribute the killing to peaceful IPOB members.


Anambrarians should vote and standby to protect their votes. No rigging of any kind will be tolerated on the Anambra State governorship election. It must be transparent, free and fair to all.

We wish to thank Biafrans, IPOB members worldwide, friends of Biafra and lovers of freedom for their continued support for our dogged struggle for independence.

May we therefore, warn detractors, traitors and enemies of Biafra not to cause confusion by imputing motives to our decision. IPOB doesn’t expect anybody to observe, monitor or enforce the suspended order otherwise such action will be considered a rebellion to the highest leadership of our global movement.

On the other hand, our oppressors should not take our decision as an act of cowardice. IPOB still believes that our elders, religious leaders, political leaders and various stakeholders will live up to their promises in their engagements and efforts towards securing the unconditional release of  our leader.


We therfore urge all Biafrans and residents of Biafra to go about their lawful businesses without fear of any molestations. All agents of darkness recruited by our enemies to inflict pains on our people under the guise of enforcing the sit-at-home are hereby warned to steer clear or brace up for the consequences of their evil action. 


  IPOB will not relent in our  pursuit for Biafra freedom.  Nigeria government must give us date for Biafra referendum to decide where we want to belong.

US Homeless man becomes multi-millionaire

A man who used to sleep on park benches because he was homeless and lived off burgers has become a multi-millionaire and has bought houses for all of his family members.

Nick Mocuta, 37, grew up in Romania but always dreamed of making a career for himself in the US.

At the age of 21, he emigrated to the US with nothing but $500 in his pocket.

He has now shared his difficult road to success – including sleeping on benches, being homeless and living off cheap food.

Despite knowing very little English at 21 years old, Mocuta came to Los Angeles with $500 which his grandma gifted him to start a new life.

Unable to find an apartment and having no contacts in the country, the business graduate spent weeks sleeping on benches in public parks and was barely able to buy food.

Nick told Jam Press: “The first cab I took to the city cost me about $100 which left me with $400 to myself – it was a culture shock, I will never forget that part.

“I found myself homeless in LA, slept on benches in the parks and ate on a very tiny budget.

“I’d go to buy a dollar burger at McDonald’s and tell them ‘no cheese’ so that I wouldn’t get charged extra.”

Over the next few months, Nick was able to secure low-paid jobs and was eventually able to save up enough money for a deposit to rent a tiny flat.

Eventually, he managed to get himself a real estate broker license.

Although Nick Mocuta thought that property would be how he made his fortune, he started a new venture in 2013 that would change his life forever.

The now 37-year-old started selling items like mobile phones and cases imported from China on eBay and after six months he was making up to $4,000 a month.

After seeing the success he could make online, he decided to quit his job as a broker to focus on his own business in e-commerce.

Nine years later, he is a US citizen with multiple online stores and has raked in around $40 million in revenue.

Nick said: “I think the reason I am successful is because I was never afraid to lose, just of not trying.

“I’m very perseverant and never give up. I fail seven times, I get up the eighth.”

The former homeless man now has a portfolio of 100 flats across the US and Romania, as well as four luxury cars.

Nick added: “It is a family business for me, there is nothing better than giving people the financial freedom to quit their job so that they have far more time for their families.

Mother and daughter fight dirty over boyfriend in Anambra

Nemesis has reportedly caught up with a woman and her daughter who tried to outsmart each other in their illicit relationship with the same man as they went into fisticuffs on Wednesday in the lover-boy’s apartment at Nkutaku Layout in Okpoko, a suburb of Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra State.

Information has it that the man, who is in his early 30s, is a boyfriend to the woman and usually patronises her restaurant at Ochanja market, near Onitsha, where her daughter also assists her mother to sell.

According to a neighbour who had been following the dramatic battle for the lover boy, trouble started when the young lady in her early twenties began to succumb to love advances from the friendly customer simply identified as Oga Dubai.

She did not know that her mother and Oga Dubai were already dating secretly before he decided to switch to her, the source who did not want his name mentioned in the print said.

He continued, The mother kept her calm initially thinking that it was mere friendly play.

But trouble started when on one of the man’s visits to the restaurant, the daughter rushed to him and embraced and kissed him.Angered by her daughter’s provocative action, the mother warned her to behave herself in a good manner, but the daughter fired back that she was old enough to choose whom to love and that she loves Oga Dubai and would like to marry him if he eventually proposes to her.

After a brief exchange of words, the duo kept their cool and went home as if nothing happened. Not ready to surrender her lover to her daughter, the woman decided to play the spoiler game on them.

Days later when the man invited the daughter to his house at Nkutaku layout Okpoko, her mother was already tipped off and she trailed her to the rendezvous for a showdown.

The daughter did not know that her mother was a regular visitor to the house and as such very familiar with co-tenants to the man.So after about three hours after her daughter went to the man’s house, she decided to pay an unscheduled visit to the man.

On arrival, she made straight to the man’s apartment without greeting the co-tenants as usual whenever she came calling, ostensibly to get them in action.After knocking, she pushed the door open and saw both unclad, with the daughter’s handbag hung on the wall.

The woman kept her calm and managed to hold herself until the man told her: ‘You are supposed to wait for someone to come and open the door for you before you come in.

According to the witness, this infuriated the woman who raised her voice, accusing the man of sleeping with mother and daughter, swearing that she has cut their relationship and that the girl will not return to her house again, but will remain there in the man’s house.

The source added: “As the heated argument ensued between the man and the mother, the daughter tried to sneak away, but unfortunately for her, the mother rushed outside and held her, dragging her back to the man’s house.

As the girl was trying to resist her mother, the mother started beating her up and calling her lover-boy snatcher.“As the beating became unbearable, the girl fought back and tore her mother’s clothes into shred, exposing her nakedness.

The timely intervention of on-lookers who rushed and separated them saved the situation and both headed home from different directions. while abusing each other, calling themselves ashewo (prostitute).

A man who claimed to be one of the co-tenants of the lover boy also disclosed that the mother of the girl visits the man regularly and that the day of the fight was the first they saw the young girl.

The woman comes to our compound steady, we even think she is the wife to the man.

Sometimes she will cook and fetch water and wash the man’s clothes,” he said.

Actor Will Smith has revealed that he once thought about killing his father to “avenge” his mother for the abuse she suffered.

Smith revealed this in his new memoir “Me”. In excerpts which were published on People, the actor revealed the fraught setting of his early life in Philadelphia with his father, Willard Carroll Smith Sr., and mother Caroline Bright, and how it affected his later life with his father, whom he cared for while he was battling cancer.

“When I was nine years old, I watched my father punch my mother in the side of the head so hard that she collapsed. I saw her spit blood.” 

The actor’s parents eventually split when he was a teen and got divorced in 2000. Recounting how he contemplated ending his father’s life, Smith wrote; 

“One night, as I delicately wheeled him from his bedroom toward the bathroom, a darkness arose within me. The path between the two rooms goes past the top of the stairs. As a child I’d always told myself that I would one day avenge my mother.

“I paused at the top of the stairs. I could shove him down, and easily get away with it. As the decades of pain, anger, and resentment coursed then receded, I shook my head and proceeded to wheel Daddio to the bathroom.”

A man with all two legs amputated has opened up on how he managed to keep it secret from his lover for two years of dating until after the exchange of vows on their wedding day to disclose it to her.

Ndayisenga Jean De Dieu and Debora met each other in 2018 and became friends before agreeing to be lovers.During their courtship, they both respected the prior agreement not to have sex before marriage, so the lady did not have the opportunity to discover that the man she intended to marry is an amputee.

Fearing that he might lose Debora if he revealed the secret to her during their relationship, Ndayisenga kept it away from her during the two-year courtship.

HBO hit TV series, “Game of Thrones” actress, Gemma Whelan has revealed how sex scenes were filmed on the show.


According to Wheland filming sex scenes was a “frenzied mess.”


Whelan joined the series in the show’s second season, playing the fierce warrior Yara Greyjoy. The actor continued to have a key role until the end of the series in 2019.


Speaking with The Guardian about her new show “The Tower,” Whelan mentioned the sex scenes in “Game of Thrones,” saying they were not really choreographed.

“They used to just say, ‘When we shout action, go for it!’ and it could be a sort of frenzied mess,” Whelan said. “But between the actors, there was always an instinct to check in with each other.”


She continued: “There was a scene in a brothel with a woman and she was so exposed that we talked together about where the camera would be and what she was happy with. A director might say, ‘Bit of boob biting, then slap her bum and go!’ But I’d always talk it through with the other actor.”

“I remember when an actor would have a microphone fitted, and sometimes you have to root around the waist,” she continued. “And, in the past, there’d be all this, ‘And while you’re down there, hur, hur!’ But now you don’t have to play along with things like that.”

IPOB denies advocating for the boycott of Anambra election this Saturday

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has denied calling for boycott of the Anambra governorship election scheduled to hold on Saturday November 6.

The secessionist group in a statement released by its spokesperson Emma Powerful, stated that its priority is to secure the release of its leader, Nnamdi Kanu and not elections. 

IPOB further averred that it has not asked anyone to impose the sit-at-home order. It also dissociated itself from a viral voice note warning hotel owners in Anambra to shut down from November 4.

The statement read; 

”IPOB wish to correct some misconceptions, unfounded speculations and outright falsehood concerning our position on the forthcoming November 6 governorship election in Anambra state. 

“First of all, we wish to reiterate that IPOB did not at any time issue an order or call for the boycott of the said election contrary to misconceptions in certain quarters. IPOB has nothing to do with the Anambra election. Nobody should therefore link us with the election. The freedom of our Leader is what matters to us and we don’t need distractions.

“The priority of IPOB is to secure the unconditional release of our Leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu who has been illegally detained since his rendition to Nigeria. All we said was that if by November 4 those who abducted, renditioned and illegally detained him fail to release him unconditionally, Biafrans shall embark on civil disobedience of a one-week sit-at-home beginning from November 5 to November 10.

“This action has nothing to do with the Anambra election. We are not concerned if anyone wishes to participate or not to participate in the Anambra election. But our only advice to Ndi Anambra especially those contemplating to vote is to be very careful about their security.

“We want to categorically state that IPOB has not asked anybody to monitor or enforce compliance to any sit-at-home as this is unnecessary because Biafrans willingly and consciously obey IPOB’s call for Sit-At-Home.

“Our people are all fed up with their suffering and oppressive conditions imposed upon us by the contraption called Nigeria and do not need any persuasion to do the needful.

“We also wish to totally dissociate IPOB from a viral voice note warning hotel owners in Anambra to shut down from November 4. The said voice note never emanated from IPOB. It’s another handiwork of our oppressors in their desperation to implicate IPOB. We, therefore, urge members of the public to discountenance such rubbish. IPOB under Nnamdi Kanu is not the author.

“We, therefore, warn that anybody caught trying to use the name of IPOB to foment trouble in Anambra State or any part of Biafra land will regret his or her actions. IPOB has never told anybody or group to boycott the Anambra election. We are only interested in the freedom of our leader Mazi Nnamdi KANU.”

32 and not 36 persons lost their lives in the Ikoyi collapsed building – Governor Sanwo-Olu

Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu says contrary to reports, 32 and not 36 deaths have been recorded from the Ikoyi building collapse.

The governor gave the clarification while speaking to newsmen at the scene of the incident today November 4.

”Yesterday we opened a register for missing persons, people that have missing loved ones, that have people that they imagine must have been in this location on Monday.  As I speak here now, it’s only 19 names that have been provided. Some of them have pictures, some do not have pictures.

Nigerian banks will stop accepting old £20, £50 notes as from Dec 31

Banks in Nigeria will stop accepting old £20 and £50 notes from December 31, 2021.

This is to enable proper conclusion of cash evacuation.

Fidelity Bank Plc disclosed this in an email to its customers on Wednesday, Nov 3, titled “Withdrawal of old 20 and 50 GBP notes from circulation”.

The email said, “The Bank of England has announced the withdrawal of paper £20 and £50 notes after September 30, 2022. A year’s notice has been provided to customers and the global banking community.

“In view of this, Fidelity Bank, alongside other Deposit Money Banks in Nigeria, has issued a deadline of December 31, 2021 for acceptance of the stated denominations from the public to enable proper conclusion of cash evacuation.

“Thus, we advise you to use or deposit your paper GBP notes into your Fidelity Bank domiciliary account by December 31, 2021 to avoid a loss in the value of your money.”

MD, Femi Osibona’s Body Recovered From Collapsed Ikoyi Site, His Friend Confirms

The body of the Managing Director of Fourscore Homes Limited, Pastor Femi Osibona has been recovered from the debris of the collapsed building.

The 21-storey building belonging to Osibona, collapsed on Monday afternoon.

The incident has led to the death of 38 persons with nine injured.

His body was recovered after four days intense search by emergency responders.

His friend Dele Momodu shared the sad news days after it was revealed he was trapped under the rubble of the collapsed building.

Inspector-General of Police (IGP) insists that Anambra Election must hold

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP),  Usman Akali Baba, has vowed to ensure the success of Saturday’s election in Anambra.

The IGP speaking during the 2021 Capacity Building Workshop with the Theme: Internal security operations in a democratic dispensation, organized by Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG), Zone 2 Command, Onikan, Lagos, Mr Johnson Babatunde Kokomo, on Tuesday, November 2 said he was affirmative that Anambra Election would be successful.

He said:” People should go out and  exercise their franchise. We have provided two types of security in Anambra State. One,bwe are policing the election process to making  sure that citizens exercise their franchise without molestation.

Two, we are checkmating the activities of criminal elements like the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Eastern Security Network (ESN), and other criminal elements, who don’t want people to exercise their rights.

I advise the citizens to go out and exercise their franchise as adequate security has been provided for them. I am very worried about the situation in Anambra; we are doing our best even though we need improvement”.

Tom Hanks has claimed that he was offered William Shatner’s flight into space first, but was unwilling to pay the proposed fee of $28million (£20.5m) for the privilege.

The revelation comes after the 90-year-old Star Trek actor took part in a Blue Origin rocket flight from Texas last month (October 13) which saw him go above the internationally recognised boundary of space known as the Karman Line, reaching about 66 miles above Earth.

Shatner’s trip on the flight – developed by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, who was also on the flight – lasted about 10 minutes.

Speaking on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night (November 2), Hanks was asked by the host whether the story that he had been offered the flight first was true.

“Well, yeah, provided I pay,” the actor replied. “And, you know, it cost 28million bucks or something like that. I’m doing good, Jimmy, I’m doing good. But I ain’t paying 28[million] bucks.”

Last year it was announced that Tom Cruise had teamed up with Elon Musk and NASA to film a new movie in outer space, set to be directed by Edge of Tomorrow‘s Doug Liman, with the SpaceX flight initially scheduled for October 2021.

However, the mission on which Cruise was supposed to fly out, the Crew Dragon Axiom Mission 1, has since been delayed to early 2022.

Liman is in the process of writing the film’s script, and the budget is estimated to be around $200 million. McQuarrie, who is the writer/director on the Mission: Impossible films, will act as story advisor and producer, alongside Cruise, Liman and van Sandwijk as producers.

Senate Prsident tells Buhari to address Nigerians

The House of Representatives says it will not support any bill to legalise marijuana in Nigeria.

Chairman of the House Committee on Narcotics, Francis Agbo, made this known when the Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Buba Marwa appeared before the committee for budget defence.

Agbo said the committee is considering an amendment to the NDLEA bill to ensure adequate funding for the agency.

He added that the 9th Assembly will not support any bill to legalise marijuana in Nigeria, and called for tougher sanctions against drug peddlers.

He said: “We are not supporting the so-called legitimization of Cannabis. This committee is not fronting for that bill, is not proposing that bill because we know very clearly that Nigeria is a heavy user of Cannabis,.

“So if there is so much madness, killings and so on in the country now, if we legitimize Cannabis, the madness would quadruple.”

This comes after Burna Boy said that hypocrisy is why marijuana is yet to be legalised in Nigeria. According to him, “everybody does it, but no one wants to be the one that is seen talking about it.”

Tigray fighters and Oromo rebels are said to have surrounded the capital.

George Anderson, a freelance journalist, tweeted that airlines departing Addis Ababa were fully-booked as people flee Addis Ababa.

He wrote: “BREAKING NEWS: Airlines departing from Addis Ababa are reported to be fully booked as diplomats, government officials and Ethiopian citizens flee Addis with imminent takeover by Tigray/Oromo forces.”

On Tuesday, November 2, just one day before the mass exodus, Ethiopia declared a six-month state of emergency after forces from the northern region of Tigray said they were gaining territory and considering marching on the capital Addis Ababa.

The announcement came two days after Abiy Ahmed, the country’s prime minister, asked citizens to take up arms to defend themselves against the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF).

Earlier on Tuesday, authorities in Addis Ababa told residents to register their arms and prepare to defend their neighbourhoods

War broke out in 2020 between Ethiopia and rebels in the Tigray region seeking to break away from the country.


On Tuesday, November 2, the United States issued a travel advisory, saying the security environment in Ethiopia has deteriorated significantly in the last several days with a continued escalation of armed conflict and civil unrest in Amhara, Afar and Tigray.

“A significant portion of the A2 highway connecting Addis Ababa with cities to the north has been restricted by Federal authorities which has led to disruptions, stranded travelers, and a generally non-permissive travel environment,” the advisory reads.

Antony Blinken, US Secretary of State, expressed concern in a tweet.

“The United States is alarmed by reports of the TPLF takeover of Dessie and Kombolcha. Continued fighting prolongs the dire humanitarian crisis in northern Ethiopia. All parties must stop military operations and begin ceasefire negotiations without preconditions,” he said.

For those who have been lucky to give birth to twins, you obviously know that the bond that exists among twins is much stronger compared to when the children are born separately.

Especially when it comes to identical twins where the same Zygote was used to form them, the similarities tend to be much stronger and apart from looks, sometimes the behaviors tend to be similar in many ways. The degree of closeness however varies from one child to another.

That was the same case with two twin girls called Jennifer and June who were born in the year 1963. After giving birth to them and while they were growing, the parents noticed some strange behaviour patterns in their two kids. The two girls were not only identical physically but they resembled each other even in their behavior patterns.

Mr. Aubrey Gibbons and Mrs Gloria Gibbons were now becoming more concerned with the strange behaviour patterns of their two kids. Their behaviour is what gave them the famous name called, “the silent twins” because silence was their weapon of communication to some extent. A movie has also been acted about the two girls.

The two girls from a young age had decided to remain silent to every other person and create their own world where only two of them could communicate. No outsider would talk to them let one their own parents Mr and Mrs Gibbons.

They had grown normally well until it was the ripe age for them to start communicating when they resorted to silence and living in a world of their own in a world full of many people.

To help them communicate with each other, they had developed some kind of “coded language” only them could understand. It was so strange that they would understand each other by simply making weird sounds. It became worse even as they approached teenage hood.

They had completely refused to talk to outsiders, they refused to read and write and copying each others behaviour was the order of the day for them until their behaviors were perfectly synchronized as a result of spending so much time together. It almost looked like the two girls were sharing the same mind and thoughts.

They could not be separated by anyone and when they tried separating them from one another, things turned from bad to worse. When the parents decided to take them t separate schools, they also decided to create a world of their own and would completely separate themselves from others. They would spend long hours in their beds alone and would even refuse to eat until they were forced to do so. That was when they saw that it could not work and so they had to be brought together again.

What was strange about the Jennifer and June was the fact that they were able to speak but simply chose not to speak. It was in this period of silence and separation from the world that the people even noticed that the two girls had unique abilities. They would write plays and other fictional stories in their silence which were even published and sold. It was in this period of silence that the two girls wrote and published two books.

Their silence however seemed to be doing them much worse than good. Before you realize they were already into crimes and drug abuse and a time came when they were arrested and charged each being given 12 years sentence.

Because of their condition, they were taken to a correctional facility for the mentally ill. That was when things started changing for the two girls. A mental facility is not a place you would love to be for 12 years. Years later in an interview, June would admit that those 12 years were the worst years of her life. They tried to do anything so That they could be released from the facility but none of their efforts bore fruits.

After many years they were eventually released and by now, the two were the talk of many people and just before they were released from the hospital facility where they had been transfered to one of them died of heart failure and that was Jennifer.

Death was what changed things completely for June because she was fully aware that her twin sister was not going to come back again. That was the first time June would speak to people with confidence. June later admitted that Jennifer had offered to die so that she could allow her sister June live a life that is normal and with freedom.

The story of June and Jennifer is so strange and even unbelievable but those were the exact events that happened. Ever since the death of her sister, Jennifer became as normal as any other person and even after many years she remembers those days vividly well and a lot has definitely changed about her.

Antonio Conte becomes Tottenham head coach

Tottenham have appointed Antonio Conte as their new head coach following the sacking of Nuno Espirito Santo.


The 52-year-old Italian has signed an 18-month contract with an option to extend at Tottenham following successful talks with the club’s hierarchy in London on Monday November 1.


The former Chelsea boss, who guided the Blues to the 2016-17 Premier League title and the FA Cup the following season, has taken up his first managerial post since leaving Inter Milan, where he won last season’s Serie A title.

RCCG pastor and his 22 staff trapped in Ikoyi building debris

A pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Ola Ogunfuwa, and 22 of his workers are said to be trapped under the debris from the Ikoyi 21-storey building that collapsed on Monday, November 1.

Punch reports that Ogunfuwa who is in charge of the Living Water Parish in Ibafo, Ogun State, was said to be working as a contractor on the project and has not been heard from or been identified among those rescued or brought out dead.

A friend of Ogunfuwa and an RCCG pastor, Omotosho Shola Emmanuel, who confirmed this said the victim doubled as an engineer and came with 22 other artisans, comprising bricklayers and welders, from Ibafo to work in the building.

“I am here this morning because one of my pastor friends is working here, he is an engineer. He came with about 22 people all the way from Ibafo (Ogun State) to work here; labourers, bricklayers, welders, about 22 different guys that came together with him to work on the project.

Till now, out of those that have been rescued, we’ve not seen any of those 22 and he himself is still there because we learnt that yesterday (Monday), at break time, he came out to eat but as he was about washing his hands to eat, he was summoned by one of his bosses and he went back inside but about five to 10 minutes later, the building collapsed and he was trapped.

He is still there now and we pray that God will have his way upon those still there.

As a church, we prayed all through yesterday night and we’re still believing that there is nothing God cannot do because we know that people are still many there, they said they are over 50.

The ones they’ve rescued are not up to 10, definitely we are still expecting more people to be rescued,” Omotosho added, praying God will bring more survivors out.

Cojoined twins have survived an intense operation lasting 27 hours to separate them.

The adorable nine-month-old sisters, named Elizabeth and Mary, left Cameroon for Turkey joined at the hip but have now been separated seven months later.

The girls’ mother has praised the “extraordinary” medical staff in Istanbul who carefully planned the surgery on 3D models before getting to work on the girls.

According to their parents, the girls who came out the womb attached were living in pain which led to them seeking medical help.

Following seven months of planning and a final 27-hour operation to separate the conjoined twins, both girls have been discharged from the hospital in Istanbul.

The twins’ father Richard Akwe said: “We were very saddened by the thought of our babies not being able to move around freely and that they were hurting.

“We were also saddened by the crying of our little girls when they were hungry while my wife tried to breastfeed them one by one, but they were a gift to us and we are dedicated to taking care of them in the best way possible.”

The girls’ mother Anne Caroline Akwe told a news conference: “I was very very happy, for seeing Elizabeth and Mary being separated and well without not any complications.

“Despite the many difficulties, I breastfed my babies for a year while they were conjoined.

“We never lost hope that they would be separated and live in good health. And that dream came true with the extraordinary effort and success of the Turkish doctors.

After the 27-hour operation, neurosurgeon Dr Memet Ozek said: “The separation of the lower part of the spinal cord was a problem in the eight-and-a-half-hour separation process. Why was it a problem?

“Because it involved four important functions: the movement of their feet, their control of the urinary tract, being able to control defecation, and to prevent a problem in their future sex life.

“Each one had its own unique set of problems. After surgery, the aim is to keep them protected.”

Nigeria owes China $3B as of 2020 – World Bank

The World Bank says Nigeria has so far borrowed $3.121 billion (?1,126.68 trillion at USD/?361), from China as at March 2020, an amount which  represents only 3.94 per cent of Nigeria’s total public debt of $79.21 billion as of September 2021.

Similarly, in terms of external sources of funds, loans from China accounted for 11.28 per cent of the External Debt Stock of USD27.67 billion as of the same date.

According to the World Bank, the total borrowing from China of USD 3.121 billion as of March 31, 2020, are concessional loans with interest rates of 2.50 per cent per annum with a tenor of 20 years and a grace period (moratorium) of seven years.

‘These terms are compliant with the provisions of Section 41 (1a) of the Fiscal Responsibility Act, 2007. In addition, the low-interest rate reduces the interest cost to the government while the long tenor enables the repayment of the principal sum of the loans over many years. These two benefits, make the provisions for debt service in the annual budget lower than they would otherwise have been if the loans were on commercial terms,’ a newly released world bank document said.

‘The $3.121 billion loans, the document, explained, are project-tied loans. The projects, (eleven – 11 in number as at March 31, 2020), include the Nigerian Railway Modernisation Project (Idu-Kaduna section), Abuja Light Rail Project, Nigerian Four Airport Terminals Expansion Project (Abuja, Kano, Lagos and Port Harcourt), Nigerian Railway Modernisation Project (Lagos-Ibadan section) and Rehabilitation and Upgrading of Abuja – Keffi- Makurdi Road Project.

‘The impact of these loans is not only evident but visible. For instance, the Idu – Kaduna Rail Line has become a major source of transportation between Abuja and Kaduna. Also, the new International Airport in Abuja has improved air transportation for the populace, while the Lagos – Ibadan Rail line when completed, will ease traffic on the busy Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

‘The projects also have the added benefits of job creation, not only by themselves but through direct and indirect service providers, a number of which are Small and Medium Enterprises,’ the document, further explained.

Recall that recently, President Muhammadu Buhari wrote to the National Assembly, seeking approval to borrow the sum of $4,054,476,863 billion and €710 million, a move that generated uproar.

Biafra National Guard showcases its ‘red devil rockets’ and dares Nigerian forces (video)

The Biafra National Guard (BNG) has unveiled rockets and declared it is combat-ready and not scared of Nigerian forces.

In a video shared to Facebook Tuesday night, November 2, the fighters revealed the rockets are named “Red Devil 01”.

The weapons were painted with Biafra colours.

In his remarks, BNG self-acclaimed leader, General Innocent Orji said: “We have re-declared the sovereignty of the Biafra nation; we have hoisted our flag. I and my men will defend Biafra with the last drop of our blood no matter what.

“We will be going out to defend our nation and boundaries, we are not afraid of the soldiers. We must do the needful. The support of the people will help us to save more lives.

“This is not 1967, we have our strategies. We won’t tell the people what we are going to do. Nigerian soldiers can never defeat us.”

During prayer session, A man falls into ‘trance’ kills wife and his 2 kids

A Zimbabwean man fell into a trance while praying with his family and allegedly grabbed an axe before hacking his wife and two children to death. 
 

The shocking incident occurred in the Woodlands suburb on Tuesday afternoon. 

Neighbors said the couple’s other child escaped the killing.

Witnesses said the man named Leo Kanyimo, who was an ardent Apostolic Faith Mission (AFM) follower was praying his home together with the family when he suddenly became violent. 

“We knew him as a prayerful man and yesterday he said they were fasting and praying for one of their children whom he said was possessed by some evil spirits.”

“As they were praying in their house, we suddenly heard some screams and when we dashed to the scene, we realised that he was axing his family,” a neighbour, Mr. Charles Ngazi told Zimbabwe’s Herald.

The suspect was later arrested after residents raised alarm over the bizarre incident.

National police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the development.

“The man in his 30s started having problems in Woodlands, Gweru, and took a log and killed his wife, who was in her 20s, his 10-year-old son and an 18-year-old girl using a log,” Nyathi said.

“Neighbours heard some noise and saw the man running around with the baby he had killed. They alerted the police at Nehanda Station and he was arrested. We are still investigating the case.”

Scammers using ‘Squid Game Cryptocurrency’ swindled $3.3 Million from fans

Anonymous persons behind a Squid Game cryptocurrency have officially made away off with an estimated $3.38 million.

The cryptocurrency inspired by Squid Game peaked at a price of $2,861 before plummeting to $0 around 5:40 a.m. ET., according to the website CoinMarketCap.

After jumping more than 310,000% in value as of Sunday night, Squid lost all its value after Twitter flagged the cryptocurrency’s account and temporarily restricted it due to “suspicious activity”.

Before its collapse, the token’s value had spiked to $2,851. The token’s website and social accounts have disappeared, along with a white paper describing Squid.

The token was made available for purchase on 20 October with the idea that the cryptocurrency would be a pay-to-play token to play an online game, inspired by Squid Game, the hit series in which heavily indebted people play deadly versions of children’s games to win cash.

The game was set to launch in November and its promoters said winners would be rewarded with more Squid tokens. 

The creators of the cryptocurrency could have made off with as much as $2.1m after the token’s crash, according to Gizmodo.

CoinMarketCap, a cryptocurrency price-tracking website, warned potential buyers before the crash of the cryptocurrency’s possibly fraudulent nature, telling investors to “please do your own due diligence and exercise caution while trading” and warning them that investors were having trouble selling their tokens.

An anonymous Squid investor told CoinMarketCap, “I lost all of what I had in this project” after investing $5,000 into the cryptocurrency.

Singer, Alicia Keys and her hit-producer husband, Swizz Beatz have opened the doors of their art-filled California mansion to Architectural Digest.


The modernist mansion is located in the mountains north of San Diego.


It is made of white concrete and glass rises from the cliffside. The property is nicknamed “Razor House” after the nearby Razor Point Trail.

 Alicia Keys and her husband Kasseem Dean, better known as Swizz Beatz together with their children Genesis and Egypt have since given the residence their own name, “Dreamland”.

 The mansion is filled with artworks by Black artists, a fleet of Ferraris, an infinity pool and a recording studio tucked away in a space Swizz beatz calls “the grown up floor.”

The home which views over the Pacific Ocean, the home is said to have inspired Tony Stark’s mansion in the “Iron Man” franchise, according to Architectural Digest, which is dedicating the cover story of its December issue to the property.

Speaking to the magazine, Swizz Beatz revealed that he set his heart on the home long before purchasing it. 

The nearly 11,000-square-foot mansion, a photo of which served as his phone wallpaper for eight years before the couple moved in, was “incredibly important to me,” he is quoted as saying.

“Every wall in this house, every bit of it, is sculpture,” he added. “These beautiful ‘S’ shapes, these chevrons going down the hillside, curvatures flying in space over your head. It’s more akin to sculpture than architecture.”

 
When the couple’s real estate agent messaged to say the home was on the market, Dean was worried that Keys — who loved living on the East Coast — would be reluctant to move out west.

 “She’s Miss New York,” he said. “They might as well make a sculpture of her the (new) Statue of Liberty.”


But after the couple were invited by the the previous owner to spend a weekend exploring the house, Keys began imagining her life there, according to Architectural Digest. 


She was convinced to relocate during a morning meditation session at the property, as she watched parasailers float over a nearby mountain.

“In that moment, I felt like I was witnessing a beautiful metaphor, and I wanted to not ever forget how endless we are and how the unimaginable can happen,” she told Architectural Digest.


 “That’s what did it for me. I was taken.”

After finally purchasing the home in 2019, Keys and Swizz tasked New York-based interior designer Kelly Behun with transforming the space into “Dreamland.” 

The house has Moroccan wool rugs and velvet and shearling upholstery.

Key items of furniture echo the building’s gentle curves, with rounded couches and circular coffee tables spotted throughout the house.


As prolific art collectors, Keys and Swizz Beatz put art at the heart their home. With a portfolio of over 1,000 artworks, amassed over two decades, the pair have lined their walls with museum-worthy pieces by the likes of KAWS and Jean Michel-Basquiat not forgetting black artists like Kwame Brathwaite, Lauren Pearce and Burkinabe photographer Sanlé Sory 

Sentimental items are also woven into the home decor, including a baby grand piano that was gifted to Keys by her record label when she turned 16.

Obi Cubana’s passport siezed as he is yet to be released – EFCC Spokesperson says

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has reportedly confiscated the passport of socialite and businessman, Obinna Iyiegbu popularly known as Obi Cubana, who was arrested on Monday November 1, for alleged money laundering and tax fraud.

Punch reports that the seizure of his travel document was to prevent him from leaving the country while under investigation. A source in the commission however claims he is yet to be released. 

“Obi Cubana has not been released, he is still having quality sessions with investigators over alleged money laundering running into millions of naira and tax fraud.

He will be released when he has satisfactorily responded to all questions relating to his involvement in various illegal deals. As part of investigation, his travel document has been temporarily seized pending the conclusion of investigations.”a source in the commission said

The EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, who also spoke to PUNCH confirmed that Obi Cubana is still in custody and said he has no information on the seizure of his passport.

A man fully vaccinated dies of Covid-19 infection on the plane in a German airport

A fully vaccinated passenger infected with coronavirus was found dead in his seat inside a flight. 


The Pegasus Airlines crew found the 51-year-old man lifeless in his seat after Flight 1043 from Istanbul, Turkey, to Hamburg, Germany, last week.


The man, who was born in Russia and lived in the German state of Schleswig-Holstein, was reportedly travelling on an Airbus 320 when he passed away during the flight.


While an official cause of the man’s death is not confirmed yet, local reports have suggested he had suffered from a number of serious prior illnesses, which were not specified.


The Airbus A320 operated by Turkish low-cost airline Pegasus Airlines had taken off from Istanbul and landed at its destination at around 1 pm on Monday, October 25.

Forensic pathologists performed a postmortem on the body and concluded that the man had probably died mid-flight. They also noted that he tested positive for Covid.


According to Mail Online, he was allowed to take the flight because he had proved he was fully vaccinated against coronavirus. German Covid-19 rules require passengers to reveal their Covid status before they fly.


Potential air passengers need to be vaccinated, recovered or tested. 


The airline said: ‘We extend our condolences to the family and neighbours of the passenger.’  

Kim Jong-un orders North Koreans to worship him – “Kimjongunism”

North Korea’s leader Kim Jong-un, 37, wants to be worshipped by his people.

The dictator is pushing “Kimjongunism” which hails him as a “Great Leader”.

Portraits of his father and grandfather in the capital city of Pyongyang have been taken down to present Kim John-un as unrivalled in his position of power.

Kim Jong-Un’s grandfather, Kim Il-sung founded the country in 1948 and became the third longest-serving political leader of the 20th century.

According to South Korea’s spy agency though, Kim hopes his image and reputation can surpass that of his grandfather and his dad, Kim Jong-il who followed.

Reports claim the term “Kimjongunism” is being promoted in government circles and state media is calling Kim “Great Leader”, which has previously only been used in reference to Kim Il-sung.

Fyodor Tertitskiy from Kookmin University in Seoul, told NK News: “The signal cannot be clearer.

“Kim Jong-un does not like certain aspects of the system that his father and grandfather have forged — specifically the one tying the successor’s legitimacy to his deference to his predecessors. The current leader wants to be his own autocrat.”

North Korean media is yet to use the term “Kimjongunism” but The National Intelligence Service reported its behind-closed-doors promotion to MPs in Seoul last week.

A ‘knife wielding man’ shouting ‘Allahu Akbar’ in St. Lazare’s Station in Paris is shot by Police

A knifeman has been shot by Paris transport police after shouting, ‘Allahu Akbar, France is ruled by Islamic State’ at a train station on Monday night, November 1.


The man is said to be severely injured after he brandished the weapon while threatening security at Saint-Lazare station, one of the busiest stations in Paris. 


The incident started after he was stopped for not wearing a mask and he refused to comply with officials.

He then took out his knife and charged towards them shouting pro-ISIS slogans before he was shot twice in the chest. 


He is now in a life-threatening condition as he fights for his life in hospital.


France’s state-owned railway company SNCF said in a statement: ‘The two agents used their service weapon to defend and neutralise him. 

‘The injured individual was taken care of by the emergency services.’


According to identity documents found on his body, the man was born in 1974 and had been known to police for previous threats and violence but was not known to France’s intelligence agencies

Anambra state governorship aspirants, Charles Chukwuma Soludo, and Andy Uba threw shots at each other during the Anambra governorship election debate organised by Arise TV that aired Monday night, November 1.


During the debate, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate, Soludo, claimed the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Andy Uba did not do anything meaningful for his people when he was a senator.

Responding, Uba said he ‘mentioned’ Soludo’s name as governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to Obasanjo.


“You were saying that in my eight years in the senate I did not do anything. What did you do? I mentioned you as the central bank governor. What have you done so far?” the APC candidate asked.


“You haven’t done anything. They brought you to me. My brother brought you. How can you say what you don’t know?”


Responding to Uba’s comment on the CBN job, Soludo said the APC candidate was not instrumental to his emergence as CBN governor, adding that Uba was a “domestic staff” in the presidential villa.


“I know Andy was a masseur in the US. He was a domestic staff in the villa, who cleans the president’s shoes,” he said.

“If throwing up my name gives Andy Uba a CV, then I will concede that too.”


Soludo also alleged that the APC candidate forged his senior secondary school certificate which was presented to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).


“You don’t have a certificate. You forged it. I will show you here. Do you have a secondary school certificate?” Soludo queried.


“When did you graduate? You have a secondary certificate in 1974? You had SSCE in Enugu? It is a forgery! Your history is here. I can show it to you from INEC.”

Chinese Influencer Dies After Her Fans Encourage Her To Drink Pesticide During Live Stream

A Chinese influencer, who goes by the name ‘Luo Xiao Mao Mao Zi, died after ingesting pesticide during a live stream on Douyin last Thursday (Oct 14). She was 25.

Although Luo was rushed to the hospital after the incident, doctors failed to save her and she passed away the next day.

    Before the live stream, Luo, who had more than 678,000 Douyin followers, shared a video saying that it was “probably [her] last video” and thanked her fans for their company.

    In the clip, she revealed that she had been suffering from depression for a long time and was hospitalised for more than two months.

    “I appear to be happy, but this is all for show. I hope everyone will be happy when they see my videos and will see that I am happy too. [But] I can’t hold on anymore,” she said.

    Though Luo had previously shared that she couldn’t let go of her ex-boyfriend and would sometimes feel depressed, her family said that he was not the reason she took her own life.

    Instead, they blamed her death on the trolls who egged her on to drink the pesticide.

    Screenshots showing Luo holding a bottle of pesticide while netizens encouraged her to drink it quickly have gone viral.

COVID-19 related-deaths surpasses 5 million in the World

The global death toll from COVID-19 topped 5 million today, November 1, less than two years into a health crisis that humbled wealthy countries with first-rate health care systems and devastated poor countries 

Together, the United States, the European Union, Britain and Brazil – all upper-middle- or high-income countries – account for one-eighth of the world’s population but nearly half of all reported deaths.

The U.S. alone has recorded over 740,000 lives lost, more than any other nation.


“This is a defining moment in our lifetime,” said Dr. Albert Ko, an infectious disease specialist at the Yale School of Public Health. 


“What do we have to do to protect ourselves so we don’t get to another 5 million?”


U.N. Secretary General Antonio Guterres called it a “devastating milestone” and a “clear warning” that “we cannot let our guard down.”


The death toll, as revealed by Johns Hopkins University, is about equal to the populations of Los Angeles and San Francisco combined. It rivals the number of people killed in battles among nations since 1950, according to estimates from the Peace Research Institute Oslo. 

As at press time, globally, COVID-19 is now the third leading cause of death, after heart disease and stroke.


In Ukraine, only 17% of the adult population is fully vaccinated; in Armenia, only 7%.


“What’s uniquely different about this pandemic is it hit hardest the high-resource countries,” said Dr. Wafaa El-Sadr, director of ICAP, a global health center at Columbia University. “That’s the irony of COVID-19.”


Wealthier nations with longer life expectancies have larger proportions of older people, cancer survivors and nursing home residents, all of whom are especially vulnerable to COVID-19, El-Sadr noted. 


India, despite its terrifying delta surge that peaked in early May, now has a much lower reported daily death rate than wealthier Russia, the U.S. or Britain, though there is uncertainty around its figures.


Wealth has played a role in the global vaccination drive, with rich countries accused of locking up covid-19 supplies. The U.S. and others are already dispensing booster shots at a time when millions across Africa haven’t received a single dose.


Africa remains the world’s least vaccinated region, with just 5% of the population of 1.3 billion people fully covered.


The U.N. Sec. general Antonio Guterrez said, “We are failing much of the world. While wealthy countries are rolling-out third doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, only about five per cent of people in Africa are fully vaccinated. This is a global shame.”

“In a major break through East garo hills police team apprehended one Nigerian national and Naga woman from Delhi. The two indivuals were involved in a Cyber crime / fraud case. An FIR was lodged by a young girl from williamnagar who was cheated and threatened by Felix (Nigerian) and case registered at Williamnagar Police Station recently. An amount of Rs 2 lakh was involve in the fraud case.” the statement read.

“A Nigerian by the name of Shri FELIX JIDEFOR (44) S/O MIMADUBUEZE OF ASABA NIGERIA was identified by East garo hills police and he was raided and apprehended from Tilak Tilaknagar Delhi with the help of Delhi Police today he was apprehended along with one Naga woman smt. KHEGHOLI AWOMI ( 37)”

“We had seized as many as 12 mobile devices and 23 ATM cards, 12 passbooks of different banks from their possesion. It is suspected that they may be involved in many other cases in other states, districts as well.” 

The accused were produced before the Tis Hazari Court in Delhi for transit remand.

They will be brought to Williamnagar for further investigation.

He had made a video begging people to help him live on social media. It’ll be recalled that on the 23rd of October 2021, just last week, Popular Nollywood Actor, Yul Edochie had posted the video on his verified Instagram handle.


Chukwuemeka had disclosed in the video that he was also close to going blind as cataract had already developed in one of his eye.

Owner of collapsed skyscraper in Ikoyi trapped inside rubble – Eyewitness claims

A Nigerian man who witnessed as the 21-storey building collapsed in Ikoyi claims the owner of the skyscraper is trapped with the other victims.

The building located on Gerard Road, Ikoyi collapsed this afternoon with an unspecified number of persons trapped inside. Three persons have been rescued while NEMA has so far confirmed two persons killed.

The witness, who identified himself as Morris Ashiru to journalists, said he and some of his friends came to work at the construction site and that the owner of the building, alongside a lot of people, are still trapped in the ruins of the collapsed skyscraper.

“Everybody was working. A lot of people came here from Abuja. The owner of the building is inside. He brought some clients to inspect the building.”

PSG reportedly considering ‘throwing Sergio Ramos away’

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly considering rescinding Sergio Ramos’ contract and let him walk away from the club for free as his injury nightmare continues to haunt the club.


The Spanish defender moved to PSG on a free transfer in the summer from Real Madrid but is yet to make his debut due to a calf problem that he suffered three months ago.


Ramos’ last appearance came in Real Madrid colours during their Champions League semi-final second leg defeat at Chelsea on May 5.

French magazine, Le Parisien has claimed PSG would be willing to let him walk away from the club if his fitness problems continue as the club feel they made a mistake signing the 35-year-old.

Man bled to death after being gored by bull at Spanish festival

A man bled to death from his injuries after he was gored at a bull-running festival in eastern Spain, authorities have said.

It is the first time such an event had happened in the country since such festivals resumed after Covid-19 rules were relaxed during the summer.

The 55-year-old man, who has not been named, was repeatedly attacked by the bull at the festival in Onda, the town’s council said on Saturday, October 30.

Other participants tried to entice the animal away but their efforts failed.


The man died later on Saturday October 30, in hospital in the nearby town of Villarreal after hemorrhaging blood from a wound in his left thigh that perforated his artery, emergency services said. 

The man also suffered a head wound.

On March 20 last year, Australia introduced some of the world’s toughest border restrictions in response to the coronavirus pandemic. Almost all travel to the island continent halted, prompting critics to dub the country a “hermit state”.

For the last 19 months, Australians have been banned from travelling overseas without permission.

Families were split across continents, and tens of thousands of nationals were stranded overseas.

The few who did gain permission to enter were forced to spend thousands of dollars and agree to spend 14 days locked in a hotel room.

Those conditions have now been dropped for the country’s two largest cities — Sydney and Melbourne — which will now allow vaccinated Australians to come and go without quarantine of any kind.

Tim Turner, who had not seen his son for more than a year, said it was “pretty brilliant” that they were now able to reunite.

Arriving in Sydney was “beautiful, beautiful”, he told reporters at the airport.

Julie Choo, who flew back from the UK to visit her sick mother in hospital, said she was trying not to cry as the plane touched down.

She said: “I just can’t wait to touch my mother’s hand when I see her. I can’t wait to hold her. It’s going to be very emotional.”

Popular TikTok star and rising comedian Huey Haha has died at the age of 22.

He died on Monday, October 25, a friend revealed on his Instagram page.   

The comedian, whose real name was Huey Ha, was a social media celebrity whose posts had racked up more than 4.5 million views on TikTok and his YouTube page had nearly 450,000 subscribers.

The announcement of his death was posted on Instagram on Wednesday, October 27, and a GoFundMe page was organized by his friend Cody Jdn. 

The comic, from Stockton, California, leaves behind a two-year-old daughter Princess Ha whom he shared with his former girlfriend Heather Saizon.

‘Free Nnamdi Kanu, de-proscribe IPOB’ – Traditional rulers and Bishops tell Nigerian Govt.

The South East Council of Traditional Rulers and representatives of Igbo Archbishops and Bishops have called on the Federal Government to release the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, who has been in the custody of the Department of State Service (DSS) since June and is facing trial for treason.


A statement signed by 12 Igbo traditional rulers and Christian clerics also urged the government to de-proscribe IPOB as a terrorist organisation, saying the move will amount to an act of courage and statesmanship on the part of the Federal Government that will de-escalate the heightened state of insecurity in the South East zone.

“We refer to our earlier request for the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu to the South East Council of Traditional Rulers and the Representatives of Igbo Archbishops and Bishops, and restate this call even more strongly. We are of the firm belief that this act of courage and statesmanship is not only imperative but will speedily de-escalate the heightened state of insecurity and dislocation in the South East zone. the statement read

They further called on government to stop military option in the zone.


“We call on the Federal Government to take urgent steps to demilitarise the South East zone, more so as it has become apparent that a continued military siege on the region can only lead to heightened tension, skirmishes and endless bloodletting between the security agencies and our youths. It has become urgent, imperative and compelling to de-emphasize the military option and move towards finding a political solution that will lead to sustainable peace.”


The leaders also stressed that “inequality and marginalisation” remained responsible for youth restiveness in the region.


“As concerned parents, we feel your pain. However, we urge you to de-escalate the tension and remain law-abiding to enable us to engage, especially the Federal Government, in finding a lasting solution to the crises.”


They urged IPOB not to do anything that would hinder or be seen to be hindering the smooth running of the November 6 governorship election in Anambra State.


“Finally, we call on all the candidates in the forthcoming Anambra State governorship election to eschew violence and commit to a free, fair and credible election.”

R. Kelly has hired Bill Cosby’s high-profile attorney to help appeal his racketeering conviction in New York.

Chicago Tribune reported that Jennifer Bonjean, a New York-based lawyer, filed her appearance in the “I Believe I Can Fly” singer’s case in the U.S. District Court in Brooklyn  where the musician was convicted on sex abuse and racketeering charges last month.

R. Kelly hires Bill Cosby?s lawyer to help overturn sex trafficking conviction

Bonjean told the outlet that she plans to lead Kelly’s appeal and post-conviction motions, which are due on Monday (Nov. 1). However, she has requested a two-month extension.

Recall Bonjean spearheaded Cosby’s appeal of his sex crimes conviction in Pennsylvania and helped get the actor released from prison.

The attorney told the Chicago Tribune that she is “looking forward to getting familiar with the record” in the Chicago native’s case, which was driven by Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) charges.

“I am becoming increasingly concerned with how the government is abusing the RICO statute in order to plead around the statute of limitations and essentially put people’s entire lives on trial,” Bonjean said. “It’s becoming a formula for the government. You have a right to defend yourself against specific allegations.”

Kelly was convicted of one count of racketeering, with 14 underlying acts that included sexual exploitation of a child, bribery, kidnapping and sex trafficking charges last month.  He was also convicted of eight counts of violations of the Mann Act, a sex trafficking law that makes it illegal to move anyone across state lines “for any immoral purpose.”

Kelly’s sentencing is set for May 4, 2022, where he potentially faces 10 years to life in prison.

Last week, a Chicago judge set the date for the child pornography trial that he is facing in his home state. The disgraced singer being accused of recording his sexual encounters with multiple underage girls and bribing possible witnesses with cash and gifts to remain silent about his crimes. He is set to stand trial for those federal sex charges next August.

According to Mujahid, the gunmen attacked a reception taking place in the Surkh Rod district of Nangarhar Province.


Local reports say at least two people had been killed and 10 others injured.
The Taliban spokesman added that it was not allowed to kill anyone for playing music, and an investigation will start to establish whether the incident was due to a personal problem or disagreement.

“In the ranks of the Islamic Emirate no one has the right to turn anyone away from music or anything, only to try to persuade them. That is the main way,” Mujahid told the press conference, according to AFP.

Mujahid later posted in a series of Twitter posts that the suspects had claimed to be Taliban members, and had asked for the music to be stopped before firing before opening fire.


He also added two people connected to the incident had been arrested, but a third had escaped.

Dele Momodu apologizes for helping Buhari to become president, joins PDP

Media practitioner and former presidential candidate, Dele Momodu, has joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Momodu, the publisher of Ovation magazine, announced the development in a statement released on Friday, October 29. In his statement, Momodu apologized for working towards the election of President Buhari in 2015.

The statement reads

“It is with a deep sense of responsibility and commitment to a unified and developed Nigeria that I have decided to re-enter the political arena and join the fray of active politicking again.

I have been very frustrated about the state of our country and the manner the ruling party APC has virtually returned and reduced Nigeria to the rubbles of the stone age.

I have decided to stop my perpetual lamentations and join hands with other patriotic Nigerians to rescue our nation from the brink of a calamitous collapse.

Therefore, in line with practicing what I have preached for a few years now, I believe that only by joining mainstream politics and becoming a member of one of the leading opposition parties can I hope to make such meaningful difference as I have been demanding of others.

I have consulted widely. And it is clear to me that given the dangerous and disastrous drift that our nation has experienced in the past six years, the only party from which amends can be made to rectify our situation is the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

It is deeply saddening and regrettable that some of the biggest and landmark achievements recorded under the PDP administration have been diluted, wasted or diminished by the present APC Government. Tyson Fury’s wife, Paris Tyson has revealed that the British boxer will retire from boxing within the next two years.

The 33-year-old recently retained his world heavyweight titles at the beginning of the month, when he defeated Deontay Wilder in their trilogy bout, which took place in the US. 

His wife, Paris believe his time in boxer won’t last more two years before he retires. 

‘I think for himself, I think he’ll do it for a few more years. He’s 33 now, I think until he’s 35,’ she said in an interview with talkSPORT. 

‘I know Wladimir (Klitschko) and other men have gone on until they’re 40, but then do you keep going until you lose?

‘I don’t know, I wouldn’t like to see that from Tyson. I wouldn’t like him to keep going.

‘There’s always going to be someone coming up younger and fresher if you’re over the hill, if you’re too far gone.

‘I just think another two-three years and Tyson should definitely hang up his gloves and call it a day.’

There are plenty of options for Fury as to who his next opponent could be, with both Dillian Whyte and  Oleksandr Usyk, as possible contenders.

A Los Angeles judge today approved a petition by rapper Kanye West to officially change his name to be known simply as “Ye,” with no middle or last name.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michelle Williams Court gave her nod to the request by the singer, who filed his petition on Aug. 24 and stated he was making the change for personal reasons.

“Nigeria is disintegrating before our very eyes” – Soyinka says

Nobel laureate, Wole Soyinka, has said that Nigeria is “in a mess” and that the country is currently ”disintegrating before our very eyes”.

Soyinka said this when he spoke at a media briefing held at the Freedom Park in Lagos on Thursday, October 28.

Soyinka who sounded disturbed by the state of the nation said the problem is that this government doesn’t have a holistic grasp of the problems of the nation.

“We’re in a mess. This country is in a mess. It is disintegrating before our very eyes. The government is floundering. It’s not merely that the government is devoid of a holistic solution, the problem really is that this government does not have a holistic grasp of the problems of the nation and the environment in which we live and the time also in which we live in.

After all, look at Sudan right now; it’s in turmoil simply because some people got up one day and decided that an arrangement come into for the governance of that nation be abrogated because they’re carrying the guns. And of course, the people have responded in a marvellous, united way. Doctors, workers, students, market people and the last time, the oil workers, they’ve all got up and said ‘no’.

IPOB: ‘Negotiate with Igbos’ – Fr. Mbaka tells Buhari

Spiritual director of Adoration Ministry Enugu, Nigeria (AMEN), Rev. Father Ejike Mbaka, has made an appeal to President Muhammadu Buhari to negotiate with the Igbos over the sit-at-home order by the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, to push for the release of its leader, Nnamdi Kanu.

Mbaka made the appeal while addressing members at his Adoration ground in Enugu on Thursday, October 28.

He explained that Nigeria is sinking amid several issues in the east and the Buhari should negotiate with the people of the Southeast.

Mbaka also claimed that those around the President were telling him lies about the sit-at-home order  by the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.

He said: “Whatever is affecting Igboland is affecting the whole Nigeria.

“I am pleading with Mr President that there is still time for him to come out from his house, and stop believing in the report that they are giving him. Mr President is being fed with fake reports, mendacious reports.

“Mr President, you know I cannot tell you lies. The people around you have failed you. You might have done one or two good things. But what about the big ship, Nigeria, that is sinking.

“Invisible personnel will announce on social media that nobody should come out, and nobody will come out. No government office will be open. No bank, no market, no shop. Who are the people? These people must be powerful. Listen to them, let there be negotiation, and let us move forward.”

Charleston Church mass shooting victims reach an $88M settlement with the US Govt.

The families of nine people fatally shot in 2015 at a historically Black church in Charleston, South Carolina, have reached an $88 million settlement with the Justice Department in their lawsuit over the shooter’s weapon purchase.

The settlements range from $6 million to $7.5 million per claimant for those killed at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church and $5 million per claimant for survivors, the Justice Department said.

The victims killed ranged from 26 to 87 years old. They were Pinckney, the Rev. Sharonda Coleman-Singleton, the Rev. DePayne Middleton-Doctor, the Rev. Daniel Simmons, Cynthia Hurd, Susie Jackson, Myra Thompson, Ethel Lance and Tywanza Sanders.

Dylann Roof, a White supremacist, was convicted of federal murder and hate crimes charges for killing nine congregants during a Bible study program June 17, 2015. He was sentenced to death in 2017 and has appealed his conviction.

The widow of the Rev. Clementa Pinckney thanked supporters and those involved in reaching the settlement.

“Even though Clementa is not with us here physically, I know spiritually he is with us, and I know that he’s smiling down on us right now,” Jennifer Pinckney said.

“He will be missed, along with all the others that didn’t survive that night.”

The 14 plaintiffs filed civil cases against the FBI over accusations the agency was negligent in failing to prohibit the sale of the firearm Dylan Roof used in the massacre inside Mother Emanuel AME Church.

Bakari Sellers, one of the attorneys for the victims, said the settlement is a “big ‘F you’ to White supremacists of this country.”

He said the settlement of $88 million – $25 million split among survivors and $63 million split among the families for those killed is symbolic because the number 88 is a symbol of hate and was written on Roof’s shoes while he carried out the shooting.

“Domestic terror, White domestic terror, is a real issue in this country,” Sellers said. “These individuals were killed because they were Black. That attack was not on First Baptist, that attack was on Mother Emanuel AME Church. So let’s not misconstrue what this issue is.”

About 34,000 Police officers deployed to Anambra State to ensure voters’ safety

Thirty-four thousand police personnel deployed for the Anambra governorship election have arrived the State.

CP Echeng Eworo Echeng, the Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, disclosed this in a statement, where he assured voters of their safety when they go out to vote.

Echeng in a press briefing said the personnel and other necessary assets needed for the November 6 governorship poll in the State have arrived.

“Assets and boots have been deployed to the State by the IGP. The IGP is very passionate and has a psychological attachment to this election; for everything this command has asked for he has given us an addition.

“We have support of the helicopters for aerial surveillance. We have gunboats to patrol the waterways. We have enough vehicles to operate during this election. And from tomorrow, you will be seeing us in the streets.

“We intend to dominate everywhere in this state and the dominance is to reassure the good people of Anambra that they’re secured. Everybody should come out and exercise their civic responsibility on the 6th of November.

“We are going to be very civil to them. But for the troublemakers, we are going to be firm and decisive on anybody who tries to prevent anybody from doing what is the right thing to do,” Echeng said.

Furious Police officer shoots his ‘girlfriend’ for refusing to marry him after she found out he is married with child

A police officer identified as Bishop Eno has been accused of shooting a woman in Delta State after she allegedly turned down his marriage proposal.

Human rights activist, Fejiro Oliver, who disclosed this on Friday, October 29, said that the officer attacked to the Isoko division of the Delta State Police Command and the victim dated for five years only for her to find out that he is already married with a child. 

She was said to have refused to marry him because of that and he subsequently demanded she refund the N1.5 million he spent opening a shop for her.

She agreed to do so, however, he went to her house with a service pistol and shot her. Read his post below:

For five years, he dated the lady attached, only for her to find out that he was married with a kid. He asked for her hand in marraige last week which she turned down.

Officer Eno then asked that she refunds the N1.5M he spent in opening shop for her which the family agreed to on Wednesday.

Brutal like the Edenic serpent, he couldn’t wait for the day agreed as he went with a service pistol to the girlfriend’s house and shot her.

She almost passed on as she was rushed to a hospital in Warri where she was given oxygen. Officer Eno is on the run and needs to be arrest. ”
