Man goes to jail for 10 years for stabbing a dog more than 50 times

A man accused of stabbing a pit bull dog more than 50 times, and then trapping his body in a suitcase is now pleading guilty, four years after he said he was innocent.

Brendan Evans, 35, from Florida will now serve 10 years in state prison on two counts of animal cruelty, his defense attorney Michael Gottlieb said Tuesday, November 9 according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

In October 2017 a stabbed and badly bruised dog named Ollie was found stuffed inside a blue suitcase near Hollywood, Florida by a couple who had gone out for a late-night walk.

They called the police, and the dog was turned over to Grateful Paws Dog & Cat Rescue.

The crime went viral as outraged animal lovers across the globe criticized the action. A GoFundMe page raised more than $40,000 to help with the dog’s care, but Ollie didn’t survive and died of cardiac arrest two days later.

After he died, the money was added to a reward used to help locate his attacker, which totaled nearly $60,000 — including $31,800 from anonymous donors.

Later in 2017 Hollywood police arrested Evans in November of that year, after linking his DNA to the suitcase.

When investigators searched his apartment they found an 18-inch machete, a knife covered with blood and fur, and another knife with a broken handle and blade in a dog bowl. His oven was covered with blood and fur, according to police.

“There were also kittens & rats who were tortured [in the apartment] and never made it out,” according to “Justice for Ollie,” a Facebook page created to bring the perpetrator to justice.

Evans, who was 31 at the time, was charged with aggravated animal cruelty. He’s been behind bars since Nov. 15, 2017.

He was initially charged with 17 counts of animal cruelty but 15 counts were dismissed in exchange for the guilty plea, according to Gottlieb.

On Friday he has a different hearing related to another case, a probation violation in Hernando County, for which he faces up to 15 years.

Mindy Moffatt, the animal rights activist behind “Justice for Ollie” wrote on Facebook Tuesday that she hopes that “the other case gives him more time on top of this charge because he needs to remain in prison for a very long time!”

“It scares me to think of the day he walks free,” she added.

Karim Benzema can play for France even if he’s convicted – Noel Le Graet says

Karim Benzema will still be available for France selection, even if he is found guilty of blackmail charges against his former teammate Mathieu Valbuena.

France Football Federation president Noel Le Graet made this known as he insisted that Benzema’s selection will be decided on sporting merit alone.

The Real Madrid striker has been in sensational form since returning to the French fold following a five-year hiatus, taking his place in the Euro 2020 squad and also being a key member of their recent Nations League success.

Benzema is accused of attempting to persuade Valbuena to agree to the sum of money being extorted from him by blackmailers, thus making the striker complicit in the crime.

However, even if he is found guilty, with prosecutors seeking a 10-month suspended sentence and a €75,000 fine, this will not affect his availability for France.

‘The coach will always remain responsible for his selection, and Benzema will not be excluded in relation to a possible judicial sanction,’ Le Graet told Le Parisien in an interview.

‘Even if he receives a penalty, a suspended prison sentence, he still has the possibility of appealing a conviction.

‘So his selection, or not, in the coming months will not be linked to this judgment.

‘I will never intervene to say that we do not take him. After that, it is up to Didier [Deschamps] to consider whether, on a sporting level, he is fit to play with les Bleus.’

Boeing agrees settle the famlies of those who died during Ethiopia Boeing 737 Max airlines crashed

Boeing has reached an agreement with the families of the 157 people who died in the Ethiopia 737 Max crash in 2019.

The plane maker accepts liability for their deaths, according to court documents in Chicago and in return, families of the victims will not seek punitive damages from the company.

Lawyers for the victims’ families said Boeing would still be held “fully accountable”, welcoming the agreement as a significant milestone.

Plane maker, Boeing agrees deal with families of 157 people who died when Ethiopia airlines crashed in 2019

The agreement opens the way for families outside the US, in countries such as Ethiopia and Kenya, to claim compensation through the US courts, rather than in their home countries, which might result in lower compensation.

At the time of the crash, the 737 Max was Boeing’s best-selling plane.

But two fatal accidents within five months – the Ethiopia Airlines flight out of Addis Ababa and before that a Lion Air jet that came down into the sea off Indonesia – signalled there were serious faults with the aircraft.

The planes were grounded for 20 months, while investigations took place. However they have since been allowed to return to operations after the firm made significant changes to their software and training.

Mark Pegram in the UK, whose son Sam was one of the victims, said: “The main positive for us is that Boeing is admitting liability, and not diverting blame onto Ethiopian Airlines or the pilots… we wanted them to hold their hands up.”

Sam’s mother Debbie told the BBC: “All we are looking to do with any compensation is set up a charity in Sam’s name. It’s what we want to do and it’s what Sam would have wanted us to do.”

Prior to the admission of responsibility, Boeing faced criticism for appearing to deflect blame elsewhere by questioning the abilities of the pilots.

But Wednesday’s agreement provides some protection, by removing the possibility of relatives seeking potentially very high punitive damages and by making it unlikely current or former executives will be called to testify in court.

“Boeing is committed to ensuring that all families who lost loved ones in the accidents are fully and fairly compensated for their loss,” the plane maker said in a statement.

“By accepting responsibility, Boeing’s agreement with the families allows the parties to focus their efforts on determining the appropriate compensation for each family.”

Lawyers for the victims released a statement saying that under the agreement, Boeing admitted “that the 737 Max had an unsafe condition, and that it will not attempt to blame anyone else” for the crash.

“This is a significant milestone for the families in their pursuit of justice against Boeing, as it will ensure they are all treated equitably and eligible to recover full damages under Illinois law, while creating a pathway for them to proceed to a final resolution, whether through settlements or trial,” the lawyers said.

Nnamdi Kanu’s American Lawyer threatens to petition ICC Court, Case adjourned Jan. 2022

Bruce Fein, an American lawyer representing Nnamdi Kanu in the United States has threatened to file a petition before the International Criminal Court over an alleged violation of his client’s rights.

Fein who was denied access to the courtroom after turning up on Wednesday November 10 to monitor the trial of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), disclosed that this is the fifth time he’s being subjected to such.

The American lawyer stated that this is in violation to court order which allowed Nnamdi Kanu access to three persons. He also revealed that he will be going United States Congress and urging that sanctions be considered against Nigeria for gross violations of fundamental human rights.

Fein said;

“Today was the fifth time I was told I could not enter the courtroom despite the court’s previous order that Nnamdi could have access to any three persons he wants to.

“I had the chance to talk briefly to him on my way to the courtroom. It is clear that I am the target in particular. That’s the reason why this proceeding did not transpire today.

“And I’m here to tell Nigerians and the international community that I’m taking this to international tribunals. It is clear that the Nigerian tribunals are compromised.

“I will petition the Working Group on Arbitrary Detention in Geneva, the International Court of Justice in the Hague, the ICC in the Hague and I’ll be going to the United States Congress and urging that sanctions be considered against Nigeria for gross violations of fundamental human rights”.

“I’m here not to be an irritant but there are huge international law issues that are present in Nnamdi Kanu’s case. I’m here because I’m an international expert to provide more enlightenment on what legal issues are present here.”

Nnamdi Kanu’s lead counsel here in Nigeria, Ifeanyi Ejiofor has also debunked claim of he and his team staging a walkout in court. Ejiofor stated that the legal team did not walk out of the court, but were locked out.

He said;

“What happened in the court today is the height of travesty of justice. We have more than 50 lawyers who are here in solidarity so we were outside trying to resolve it.

“When we came to the court, they still insisted that they could not allow the maximum of five persons to have access to the court. And there is space in the court for us to sit.

“We were still trying to resolve it when the judge came in and we were all locked out. When attention was called to the fact that we were outside the court protesting about what happened. Instead of the court calling the attention of the lead counsel to find out what is going on, the court discussed with our client.”

US Rapper, JAY-Z wins Cologne Lawsuit

A Manhattan jury has cleared Jay-Z in a lawsuit that claimed he breached an endorsement deal for a “Gold Jay-Z” cologne brand by failing to properly promote it, allowing the superstar to avoid $67 million in requested damages.

At the end of a three-week trial over the soured product deal with Parlux Fragrances LLC, the jury heard arguments from Jay-Z’s attorney that asked “why on earth” the star would have put his name on a product that he wanted to fail.

Wednesday’s verdict awarded nothing to Parlux but also declined to award any money to Jay-Z, who had sought roughly $6 million in royalties he said he was still owed under the deal.

“You failed to prove your case, they failed to prove their case,” Justice Andrew Borrok said to an attorney for Parlux after the verdict was read aloud in court. “You’re excused.”

In a statement to Billboard following the jury’s verdict, Jay-Z said: “I’d like to express my gratitude to the jury, especially during these difficult times.”

Wednesday’s verdict came after nearly six years of litigation over “Gold Jay-Z,” which the superstar launched in 2013 through a partnership with Parlux, which had previously launched licensed fragrances with other major artists like Rihanna.

Parlux accused Jay-Z and his S. Carter Enterprises of failing to promote the fragrance, breaching the terms of their business contract and costing the company millions. The lawsuit said he refused to appear for events like Good Morning America and then refused to approve later iterations needed to keep the brand relevant.

Jay-Z denied the accusations, saying he fulfilled his obligations under the agreement despite numerous missteps from Parlux that threatened to damage his personal brand. He countersued, saying he was still owed millions in royalties.

A jury trial kicked off on Oct. 18, featuring two days of heated testimony from the star himself.

At the Closing arguments,  Jay-Z lawyer Alex Spiro, of the firm Quinn Emmanuel, argued that the entire case was “misunderstanding” and that Parlux had actually breached the deal first by how it had conducted itself.

Meanwhile, Parlux attorney Anthony J. Viola, of the firm Mintz Levin, said Jay-Z had “thrown sand in the gears of what Parlux was trying to do” when they disagreed over how to promote the product. He also accused Jay-Z and his company of destroying evidence by deleting certain emails, and asked the jury to award a total of $67.6 million in damages.

Parlux is certain to appeal the verdict, first by asking the judge to overturn the verdict and then by taking the case to a state appeals court. The company could argue that the judge unfairly allowed certain evidence, or that jurors could not legally have reached their conclusion based on what they heard.

In a statement to Billboard, Parlux said that it “believes it presented a strong case and is disappointed that the jury rendered a verdict today finding that neither side proved breach by the other.” The company said it “plans to pursue all legal options available to it.”

Boko Haram member sentenced to death by hanging

A member of the terrorist group, Boko Haram, Abdulsalam Adinoyi, has been sentenced to death by hanging by a high court in Ekiti state.

Adinoyi was arraigned on a five-count charge bordering on armed robbery, murder, terrorism, and unlawful possession of firearms.

In the charge, Adinoyi, an indigene of Okene, Kogi state, was said to have attacked and robbed Gana Jiya, a police sergeant, and other police officers at a checkpoint in Oye Ekiti. While Jiya was killed on the spot, other police officers on duty sustained gunshot wounds. He was also accused of carting away two AK-47 rifles and launching a “terrorist attack” on the people of Ekiti state and its environs. All these were said to have happened between December 22, 2016 and March 20, 2017.

In his confessional statement, Adinoyi said members of his group named Abu Uwais and Aminu (a.k.a. Idi-Amin), now at large, were planning an operation when police officers came to his house, which was searched and the AK-47 rifle was recovered, among other items.

Five witnesses, including police officers who were at the scene of the incident, were called by the prosecution during the trial.

Items tendered as exhibits before the court by the prosecution team include an AK-47 rifle, statement of the defendant, photographs of the victims, compact discs containing Boko Haram training activities, five SIM cards, flash drives, empty bullet shells, medical reports, among others.

While delivering judgment in the case on Wednesday, November 10, the presiding judge, Justice Lekan Ogunmoye, held that the prosecution proved its case beyond a reasonable doubt.

“The sole issues for determination are accordingly resolved in favour of the prosecution. The defendant is hereby found guilty as charged. He is accordingly sentenced to death by hanging on counts one, two and three. May almighty God have mercy on his soul. He is also sentenced to 20 years imprisonment on count four, and 10 years imprisonment on count five with N10,000 as an option of fine.”

What? Man ‘chops off his both legs’ to claim £2.4 million insurance payout

A man has been handed a suspended jail sentence and a heavy fine, after he deliberately chopped off his own legs to claim a £2.4 million insurance payout.

The defendant named only as Sandor Cs. due to strict local privacy laws, was found guilty of purposely lying down in front of a train so he could pocket the cash in 2014.

The shocking incident meant both his legs were amputated from the knee down and he has been using prosthetic limbs and remained wheelchair-bound ever since. The 54-year-old resident of the Hungarian village of Nyircsaszari is claimed to have climbed onto the tracks so a train would run over both of his legs.

Cs. claimed that he took out the policies after receiving financial advice telling him returns are better on insurance policies than savings accounts. After the incident, his wife applied for the payouts but the insurance companies refused to cough up saying that they suspected he had inflicted the injury on himself.

Cs. however insisted he was innocent and that he stepped on a shard of glass which resulted in him losing his balance and falling in front of the train that was just departing the station, according to reports.

The long-winded investigation concluded that he should receive a two-year suspended prison sentence and an order to pay £4,725 in legal costs.

Blikk reported that Cs said;

“I find the ruling very peculiar, naturally it isn’t what I expected, I am disappointed.

“I need to see this through to the end because, as is, this is not right, and the court must feel the same way.”

Though it has not been confirmed whether Sandor will be able to appeal the decision, it was however learnt that before the incident, he worked in the thermal energy sector and installed boilers at home and abroad.

However losing his legs ended his career and he now claims the injury and the legal case have bankrupted him.

Cs. who claims he is now studying law and hopes to one day help people who have been abused by big companies, still has several insurance claims pending but they are unlikely to pay up following the court’s decision.

He shared the letter on Reddit.

He titled the post: “Came home to my partner in bed with someone else! Pretty sure I struck the right tone?”

The Husband addressed his letter to the “other” man and said: “Hey, just wanted to let you know that you’re sleeping with someone who’s married and we’re not in an open relationship so you shouldn’t really be doing the dirty with her.

“I appreciate things can get lonely so don’t mind you popping over for a brew temporarily whilst I’m out but in the future could you give me a heads up so I can move my car for you please.”

The Husband signed off sarcastically, writing: “Cheers, no.86.”

TRAGIC: Nigerian Pastor fatally strangles wife

A Pastor of a new generation church, Shalom Mercy Ministry located in Aluu, Ikwerre Local Government Area, Chris Simon Amadi is now cooling his heels in police custody after he allegedly strangled his 30 years old wife, Solution Amadi to death and allegedly attempted to run away.

Family sources told Newsmen the incident happened on Tuesday in their home at Mbodo Community, Aluu after a disagreement over school fees payment in his wife’s school.

Findings revealed that troubled started when his wife, now deceased confronted him for driving some of her pupils from school for failing to pay on time, without first checking with her.

Her elder brother, Odinaka Opurum, said his now deceased sister felt embarrassed when affected parents started calling to complain about her husband’s action.

The school, Solution International School was reportedly established by the late Mrs. Solution Amadi before her marriage to the pastor in 2012.

“The husband went to the school (Tuesday November, 10) and started driving pupils away for failing to pay school fees. When parents now called the wife to ask why she drove their kids away even after paying, she appealed they should not be angry that she will find out from her husband.

“When she got to the house, they started quarreling again and the husband started beating her. He then started to strangle her to the point she collapsed and became unconscious.

When he saw she was no longer responding, he rushed her to a clinic close to their house, the clinic confirmed her dead and referred him to UPTH to be sure. Instead of taking her to UPTH as they advised, he took her to the house, covered her with wrapper, packed some clothes in a bag, locked all the doors and attempted to run away.”

Her brother also said, the incident was not the first time the pastor would beat his sister. He said it has been recurring and his sister out of love and the position of Marriage counsellor which she occupies in church, decided to endure in order not to set a bad example for young girls.

Her family is currently seeking justice.

The marriage between the pastor and the deceased, which was solemnized in 2012 was blessed with four children, two boys and two girls.

Dear Ladies, Please Don’t Enter Into Any Of These 10 Kinds Of Relationships

As a lady, you are expected to get serious with life the moment you cross twenty five years old. I personally don’t expect a 25-year old lady to be playing games because the truth is that you no longer have enough time on your side.

At age 25 and above, a lady should calm her head down and start thinking of how to settle down with a man she would spend the rest of her life with. Ladies should make sure they don’t enter any of these ten (10) kinds of relationships:

1. A Toxic Relationship

This is the kind of relationship some ladies find themselves in where the guy beats them at every slightest opportunity. At age 25 and above, don’t try to manage a man who raises his hand to hit you and don’t even think he will change if he gets married to you because that is his true nature.

If you don’t want to cry later when you get married to him, it is better you call it quit now and look for a man who will never raise his hand to hit you no matter what.

2. A Relationship Heading Nowhere

At age 25 and above, I don’t expect a lady to still remain in a relationship that is undefined. If you notice that the relationship is heading no where probably because he does not say anything about marriage, I will advice you to sit down and carefully as yourself this question: “Should I keep on waiting for him to talk about marriage when I am above 25 already?

3. A Relationship Full Of Pretence

It is very easy to know if your relationship is full of pretense; if the affirmation of love seems not to come from his heart, just know the relationship is full of pretence and I will not advice you to keep on wasting your time in such relationship.

4. A Relationship Without Mutual Respect

I have seen cases where a guy insults his woman publicly and vice versa. At age 25 and above, if there is no mutual respect in your relationship, just know that you are not doing the right thing.

This mutual respect also involves respecting one’s personal decision.

5. A Relationship Not Rooted In Love

If the foundation of your relationship is not rooted in love, I will advice you to have a rethink because whatsoever you accept now is what will be accepted later. Every good relationship or even marriage should be rooted in love and nothing else.

6. A Relationship Where The Guy Asks For Pleasure All The Time

If at 25 and above all your boyfriend wants is to have a feel of your body, just know that the relationship is not worth it. At 25 and above, you are expected to be with a man who sees you as his future wife, not the type that sees you as a ‘pleasure toy’.

7. A Relationship Not Leading To Marriage

Just like I said before, at age 25 and above you should make sure the relationship you enter is well defined and is the type that will lead to marriage.

8. An Ungodly Relationship

Do you want to spend the rest of your life with a guy who doesn’t have the fear of God? If your answer is NO, then I will advice you not to waste your time in any ungodly relationship.

9. A Relationship Founded On Lies

The lifespan of every relationship founded on lies is transient and I will advice you not to waste your time in such relationship. If he is the type that lies to you all the time and you are aware, don’t manage the relationship hoping that he will change with time.

10. A Relationship Where You Don’t Have Joy And Peace Of Mind

Dear ladies, please ensure you are in a relationship where you have joy and peace of mind and if these two things are absent, what then are you enjoying in such relationship?

It is peace of mind that makes a woman looks younger than her age when she is married so if you want to be ageless, enter a relationship where you have joy and peace of mind.

Do you agree with the things I just said?

1.  Aguata Born

Soludo hails from Isuanioma which is within the Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State.

Born on July 28, 1960, Soludo lost his mother at a tender age. However, the loss did not stop the young lad from doing excellently well in his studies and his flair for academics would eventually see him do his mother’s memory proud a few years after her death.

2. Erudite scholar

Staying true to his genius, Soludo graduated with First Class Honours in 1984, obtained an MSc Economics in 1987, and a PhD in 1989, winning prizes for the best student at all three levels. A prolific macroeconomist, he obtained his three degrees and then a professorship at the University of Nigeria in Nsukka, Enugu State.

3. Teacher extraordinaire

By 1999, Soludo became a visiting professor at Swarthmore College in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, USA, he was also a lecturer at Oxford, Cambridge, and Warwick University. He has also been a guest scholar at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and the the Brookings Institution.

The Aguata-born economist has worked as a consultant for a number of international organisations, including The World Bank, the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, and the United Nations Development Programme.

Professor Soludo has authored and co-authored several books, most of which lay emphasis on multi-country macro-econometric modelling, techniques of computable general equilibrium modelling, survey methodology, and panel data econometrics, etc.

4. Revolutionary CBN Governor

Based on his wealth of knowledge Professor Soludo was invited to serve his country in 2003 as the Chief Economic Adviser to former President Olusegun Obasanjo and the Chief Executive Officer of the National Planning Commission of Nigeria. On May 2004, he was made governor and chairman of the board of directors of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

As CBN Governor, Professor Soludo is credited with refocusing the Central Bank as an effective monetary authority, successfully implementing a fundamental restructuring which is said to have led to unprecedented consolidation of the Nigerian banking system.

According to a statement on the CBN official page, Soludo championed the establishment of the Africa Finance Corporation (AFC), a continental, private -sector driven, investment bank.

Due to his good work while in charge of the CBN, Soludo got an appointment from President Mohammadu Buhari, to be part of the newly formed eight-member Economic Advisory Council (EAC) on September 16, 2019.

5. Dogged Politician

In 2009, the economics professor announced his intention to contest for the Governorship seat in Anambra State, he was chosen as a consensus candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

The gubernatorial bid was eventually unsuccessful as he lost to Peter Obi. Resigning from the PDP on July 17, 2013, Soludo joined the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) in preparation for the November 2013, Anambra state governorship election.

However, he was dealt another sore blow as in mid-August 2013, he, along with five other qualified aspirants, were disqualified by the APGA Screening Committee.

Soludo would again declare his intention to run for the position of Governor on the APGA platform and this time, after a heated legal tussle, the former CBN governor was officially declared candidate of the ruling party in the state.

6. Father of Six

Not so much focus has been thrown on Soludo’s private life in recent times, however, the professor is married to Mrs Nonye Soludo and they have been blessed with six children.

7. Multi-Award Winning Academic

Professor Soludo is the recipient of a plethora of awards and recognitions from various institutions and organisations. Most notable amongst these is the recognition by the Financial Times of London, as a ‘Great Reformer’.

In 2006, he received a Global Banker’s Award in London.

He has also been conferred with Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (CFR) – Nigeria’s third-highest national honour.

8. Jolly Good Fellow

Teen boy killed by dog while visiting friend after school

A 10-year-old boy was killed by a pet dog while visiting a friend after school.

Police were called after screams were heard coming from a house where children were playing on Monday afternoon, Nov. 8, in the village of Penyrheol, near Caerphilly, South Wales.

The boy was mauled to death at the scene by the dog which was then shot dead by a police marksman.

The dog, believed to be an American Pitbull, had bitten a customer outside a nearby shop at the weekend.

It had recently been brought into the area and a family volunteered to look after it for a few hours as a favour to the owner, According to Dailymail.

Shop worker Tarjit Sandhu, 67, said: “The little boy who died was at the house with his little friend when the dog attacked.

“It is a fighting dog, an American pit bull, it hasn’t been in the village very long.

“A few days ago, it was tied up outside the shop where I work when a man customer bent down to stroke it.

“The dog bit him on the arm, it was quite a nasty bite.”

Mr Sandhu said the attack had left the community in a state of shock and disbelief.

Gwent Police said they were called to an address in Pentwyn, Penyrhoel, at around 3.55pm after receiving reports the boy had been attacked and armed officers were sent to the scene.

Angry couple sue clinic after nursing a stranger’s baby due to IVF swap

A California couple is suing a fertility clinic for giving birth to a stranger’s child after being given the wrong embryo by the clinic during in vitro fertilisation (IVF).

IVF is a procedure during which a woman’s eggs are fertilised by man’s sperm in a laboratory before the embryos are implanted into a woman’s uterus.

Daphna and Alexander Cardinale say they gave birth in September 2019 to a girl that looked nothing like them.

After a DNA test, they found the stranger couple that carried their own daughter to full term, and together decided to swap the girls.

The couple are now suing the Los Angeles-based fertility centre, the California Center for Reproductive Health (CCRH), as well as In VitroTech Labs, an embryology lab alleging medical malpractice, negligence and fraudulent concealment.

In an emotional news conference on Monday, November 8, Mrs Cardinale said her family’s “heartbreak and confusion can’t be understated”.

“Our memories of childbirth will always be tainted by the sick reality that our biological child was given to someone else, and the baby that I fought to bring into this world was not mine to keep.”

Mrs Cardinale said she was “robbed of the ability to carry my own child”.

According to the lawsuit, the couple sought help from the fertility clinic in the summer of 2018.

Mrs Cardinale gave birth the next year to a child they thought was theirs.

In the delivery room, Mr Cardinale had expected “a fair child”, like their firstborn, but he was surprised to see the baby girl “came out with much darker skin”, says the lawsuit.

“It was so jarring that Alexander actually took several steps away from the birthing table, backing up against the wall,” reads the lawsuit.

Nearly two months later the family decided to take at-home DNA tests, which ultimately determined they were not biologically related to the infant.

“The room shrank and got really dizzy and everything just went numb,” Mr Cardinale said, recalling the moment the DNA results came back.

The CCRH then helped them find the California couple who had carried their daughter and had given birth to another healthy girl a week apart. The Cardinales’ daughter was around four months old when they first met. After several meetings, the couples agreed to go through the legal process of formally exchanging the babies, which happened in January 2020.

“Instead of breastfeeding my own child, I breastfed and bonded with a child I was later forced to give away,” Mrs Cardinale said at the news conference.

She added that the incident has been hardest for the couple’s seven-year-old daughter, who has struggled to understand the swap.

“The horror of this situation cannot be understated,” says the lawsuit.

Mrs Cardinale and her husband have sought mental-health treatment for “symptoms of anxiety, depression, and PTSD”, says the legal action.

Adam B Wolf, a lawyer representing the Cardinales, said the other family in the IVF mix-up also plans to sue, but will remain anonymous.

India: 4 fresh babies died in hospital fire, 36 others rescued

Four newborn babies have died after a fire broke out at a children’s hospital in India, officials said.

The blaze swept through the neonatal unit at the Kamla Nehru Children’s Hospital in Bhopal, which is in the Madhya Pradesh state in central India.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has ordered an investigation after the incident on Monday night, November 8. He announced a compensation of 400,000 rupees ($5,400) for the family of the victims.

“The untimely departure [death] of children from the world is an unbearable pain,” Chauhan said on Twitter, offering his condolences to the families affected.

At least 40 children were in the unit, out of which 36 were rescued, medical education minister Vishwas Sarang said.

He said he arrived at the hospital within 10 minutes after the incident.

While an inquiry is still ongoing, authorities told the Press Trust of India that a short circuit may have caused the fire.

Hospital fires have killed at least 70 people in India this year, including 11 last weekend in the COVID-19 care unit of a hospital in Maharashtra, a state neighboring Madhya Pradesh.

Pictures showed her in a pink dress, while her partner wore a matching tie. She wrote;

“Today marks a precious day in my life. Asser and I tied the knot to be partners for life. We celebrated a small nikkah ceremony at home in Birmingham with our families. Please send us your prayers. We are excited to walk together for the journey ahead.”

Asser also confirmed the news by posting photos from their wedding shoot with a heart emoji. A nikkah is an Islamic marriage contract.

Back in July, Malala revealed her thoughts about marriage during an interview with British Vogue. She said at the time;

“I still don’t understand why people have to get married. If you want to have a person in your life, why do you have to sign marriage papers, why can’t it just be a partnership?”

Malala also revealed that her views on getting hitched began to change after seeing her peers making a lifelong commitment.

She said;

“Even until my second year of university, I just thought, ‘I’m never going to get married, never going to have kids–just going to do my work.

“I’m going to be happy and live with my family forever. I didn’t realize that you’re not the same person all the time. You change as well and you’re growing.”

Ghislaine Maxwell still in jail following Jeffrey Epstein’s s3x case

A judge on Tuesday again, November 10, refused to let British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell trade a jail cell for home detention, citing previous rulings that the nature of charges alleging Maxwell recruited teenage girls for Jeffrey Epstein to sexually abuse and her ability to flee make it impossible to let her out.

It was the fourth time that U.S. District Judge Alison J. Nathan has rejected a bail application for Maxwell, 59. Previous applications were also twice rejected by a Manhattan federal appeals court.

Nathan made the rejection in a two-page order in which she also promised that Maxwell will be transported from her Brooklyn federal jail to her trial “in a way that is humane, proper, and consistent with security protocols.” The judge said lawyers for the Metropolitan Detention Center assured these protocols in a sealed letter.

One of Maxwell’s lawyers complained that she was brought to the courthouse last week for a hearing nearly six hours before its scheduled start and was poked by a guard to force her to wake up when she briefly fell asleep in a cold holding cell.

The jury selection process began Thursday to find a dozen people willing to fairly decide whether prosecutors can prove that Maxwell helped Epstein recruit and sexually abuse teenage girls from 1994 to 2004. Maxwell has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Prospective jurors answered written questions in advance of oral questioning of them by the judge next week as a pool of hundreds of individuals is reduced to 12 jurors and six alternates. Opening statements at a trial expected to last six weeks are scheduled for Nov. 29.

In the latest bail request, Maxwell lawyer Bobbi Sternheim said her client has been subjected to physical and emotional abuse by jail guards. She also cited poor and unsanitary living conditions, insufficient nutrition, difficulties reviewing millions of legal documents and sleep deprivation.

In arguing against bail, prosecutors wrote that the latest bail application “turns to rhetoric and anecdotes better suited to tabloids than briefs. Where legal arguments can be found, they are cursory and unpersuasive.”

Epstein, a wealthy financier, was found dead in August 2019 in his cell in a Manhattan federal jail where he awaited a sex trafficking trial.

Oscar Pistorius maybe released on parole after killing girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp

Oscar Pistorius is reportedly eligible for release on parole after serving half his sentence for killing his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.

The South African Paralympic gold medallist, who is serving 13 years and five months in prison after being found guilty of murdering his girlfriend, model Reeva Steenkamp, and has been eligible for parole since July.

Oscar Pistorius eligible for release on parole

Pistorius is now expected to meet her parents in South Africa’s ‘restorative justice’ parole process before he is considered for release.

He was convicted for manslaughter for the killing of Steenkamp on Valentine’s Day in 2013 after he fired four times through the door of his bedroom toilet.

He claimed he had mistaken Steenkamp, a 29-year-old model and law graduate for an intruder but was found guilty of manslaughter and sentenced to five years in prison.

The sentence was increased in 2015 to 13 years and five months after he was found guilty of murder on appeal. But Pistorius may now be released on parole after serving six years in a low-security jail in Pretoria.

South Africa’s department of correctional services said in a statement they were setting up a meeting between Steenkamp’s parents and Pistorius as part of the ‘restorative justice’ process.

The statement said offenders ‘must acknowledge and take responsibility for their actions’ and that both parties must have the opportunity ‘to reconcile or an apology’.

Correctional services spokesperson Singabakho Nxumalo said the department were ‘not yet there’ on possible parole for Pistorius.

‘They [inmates] have to appear before a parole board. A determination is then made about whether they are ready to be sent back into the community or continue to stay in prison serving the remainder of their sentence.’

A lawyer for Steenkamp’s parents, June and Barry, told national broadcaster SABC they ‘would like to participate in the victim-offender dialogue’.

‘June has always said that she has forgiven Oscar, however that doesn’t mean that he mustn’t pay for what he has done

‘Barry battles with that a bit, but that is something he will have to voice at the appropriate time,’ lawyer Tania Koen said.

She added Pistorius is not entitled to parole, only to be considered for release on parole.

June told local media in 2018 that she had forgiven Oscar for murdering her daughter but believed that he should still be punished.

Reeva’s parents English born June from Blackburn, Lancashire, and her South African born retired horse trainer husband Barry were always convinced she was murdered.

The couple told a TV channel that they believe Reeva had packed her bags and told Pistorius she was leaving him on the evening of her death and that he killed her.

Pistorius was the first double amputee to race in the Olympics competing in the 2012 London games becoming a role model for the disabled worldwide.

Why I Confessed To Having S3x With Apostle Johnson Suleman — Chioma Ifemeludike

A Nollywood actress and human rights activist, Chioma Ifemeludike has explained why she opened up on her alleged sexual affair with the General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministry, Apostle Johnson Suleman.

According to her, the confession was necessitated by the need to renew her repentance, her walk with Christ, her new life, and the resolution to be a better person in Christ Jesus.

In an interview with Daily Sun, she further said as an activist, she is not meant to protect an oppressor.

She was quoted as saying, “I did it (confessed) because of my repentance, my walk with Christ, my new life, and my resolution to be a better person in Christ Jesus. Secondly, I’m an activist and I work with the community.

“There are people out there who are working hard to make sure that oppressors are being thoroughly dealt with. So, if a man of God becomes oppressive and the people he is fighting are the same people in my community, the same colleagues, it’s not something you sit on, it’s not something you ignore.

“How do you think people will see me if I ignore it? How do you think that would make me look? What would be the reason for being quiet about such a thing that I know about this man, even when it affects me directly?

“So, it didn’t come out of a desire to destroy anybody, it came out as a warning to people who feel that when they do things, it’s concealed and they become so big, and that people are not going to be courageous enough to come out and say the truth.

“I have no iota of regret, not even one. In fact, I feel so great. A lot of great things have been happening to me from the day I made that confession. It’s been a life-changing experience. So, why should I regret it? I did it because of my God and service to humanity. It cost me a lot, but it’s always at a cost that something new and good would happen. It’s always at a cost, a very sacrificial cost. So, yes, I did it, and I’m proud of it. I own it and I don’t regret it.”

The actress-cum-producer, who has been in the Nollywood industry for nine years, revealed that she had no idea that the cleric was quite prominent at the time she allegedly had an intercourse with him.

She recalled that the first deal of her encounter of romp sex with the man of God was sealed through a hookup by another lady, Linda Clems, noting that the second time, she clearly recognised him because they exchanged numbers during the first romp and communicated thereafter.

In the interview, Ifemeludike also spoke about her pains, regrets, marriage plans and why she actually did what she claimed she did.

Speaking on how life had treated her since the confession, the actress said, “Life has been great. Even though, in the first few days after the confession that went viral, the backlash kind of affected my mental health. But because I’m this kind of person who looks on to God and not man, I’ve always been very attached to God, so it wasn’t difficult for me to find my feet spiritually, mentally and physically.

“Yes, things were tough for some days but over time, I had to deal with the situation in my head. And as the days went by, I was motivated and became stronger.”

Speaking on her reception by her colleagues in the movie industry, she said, “I am not holding anything against them. People have their personal beliefs, faiths, decisions and characters, because we came from different homes and areas of life. People know what they know. People are people, so I don’t blame them.

“That’s how they felt and it’s their way of expressing what they felt. I didn’t even expect it because when you expect something, you could get disappointed. I knew that I was not going to get support from Nollywood, and that if I did, it’s going to be very few people who are going to say, ‘Oh… I know Chioma, she did this and I think it’s worth it’.

“But I wasn’t surprised at all and I don’t hold anything against anybody, nothing! I totally understand their position and like I told one of them, ‘what I did was bigger than anybody, and anyone who feels bad about it, I’ll let them. But with time everyone will understand.’”

On whether she was truly trying to extort money from Suleman as alleged in some quarters, the actress stated, “That’s laughable. The people who know me know that money does not freak me. What freaks me is character. Money and power do not move me. I need money but money is not everything. There’s a way I see life and there are things I value more than money. Extort who?

“How much is he going to give me? Do you know the guilt I carried all these years for something that I did? I knew that I did it out of desperation; I did it because I wasn’t acting right. So, fast-forward to today, I’m dealing with the guilt and I come out to spill it and people say I want to extort the person? I don’t know how it works but even if they bring one billion dollars, I can’t be moved.

”The truth is the truth. It’s a fact, it’s bigger than me, the universe has taken record and there is something bigger than the universe, something bigger than money and something that puts us here.

“We must always think beyond that. The day the world was created, the day everything you see was put together, money was not in the concept. Man conceptualised money and so, why would I want to do anything of that magnitude because of money? No, that’s totally wrong.

“I never did it to extort money from anybody; it’s just for my faith. So, children of God, I did it for my society and that’s what will matter for decades; for centuries, that’s what will count, not money.

“The first money was N250,000 and it was split because it was Linda Clems that gave that part to me. The second was the one he (Apostle Suleman) gave me directly and that was N300,000. So, it’s a total of N550,000.

“I can give the money back to him, to his (church) members or to the society, but I need to be sure that it’s the right thing to do. So, that’s not a big deal. If that will help for the evil done, the evil of adultery with a man of God, if that is going to help for God to have mercy, why not? I’ll gladly do it.”

On the reaction of her fiancé to her confession, she noted, “My fiancé was quite supportive because he was the first person I confessed to; I told him everything and many more.

“He’s been in the picture even before I got baptized, he knows my spiritual life; he knows my relationship with God. So, when it was time, I told him. I said, ‘this is what happened and I’m sorry. If you don’t want to continue the relationship, that’s okay’ and he said ‘no, I love that you are bold enough to tell me this. I want you to make it public, I can’t keep it down anymore’.

“And I said, ‘fine, if that’s what’s going to help you, then who am I not to do it?’ So, my fiancé was very supportive, and thanks to him that I pulled through strongly. However, my family was tough, the calls and questions like ‘how can you do this?’ came up; everyone was angry. But I thank God for our spiritual leader who told them that it was good that I confessed. He said it might not be good for man but it’s good for God as He approves of it.”

Donald Trump Threaten to leave the Republican Party and create his until he was ‘counter-threatened’ – New book alleges

Former US President, Donald Trump told the Republican National Committee chairman that he was leaving the party to create his own new political party, according to a new book by ABC’s Jonathan Karl.

Trump, who had said “he didn’t care” about destroying the Republican party, ultimately backed down after party leaders told him they would take actions that could have cost the former president millions of dollars, Karl told ABC’s “Good Morning America.”

Trump threatened to leave Republican party and create his own party until he was threatened with financial losses - New book alleges

On his last day in office, after boarding Air Force One, “Trump took a call from Republican party chair Ronna McDaniel. … He told McDaniel he was done with the Republican party. This is according to multiple sources familiar with the conversation,” Karl said.

“‘I’m done,’ Trump told McDaniel from his office on board Air Force One. ‘I’m starting my own party.'”

“‘You cannot do that,’ McDaniel told Trump. ‘If you do, we will lose forever” Karl said, quoting the conversation between the pair.

Republican leaders told the former president that if he left, they would stop paying his legal fees and give out for free Trump’s email list, “an asset Trump makes millions from by renting it out to candidates,” according to Karl.

By the following week, Trump decided against leaving the party, Karl added.

“Trump’s attitude, according to a source who heard the conversation, was that if he lost, everyone around him deserved to lose too,” Karl said.

Republican party chairwoman, Ronna McDaniel, reacting to the revelation on Monday, November 9, said that Karl’s reporting was not true.

“This is false, I have never threatened President Trump with anything,” McDaniel told ABC News. “He and I have a great relationship. We have worked tirelessly together to elect Republicans up and down the ballot, and will continue to do so.”

Karl responded to McDaniel on air, saying that her statement on his book “is a lie,” adding, “I spoke to multiple people about this, including a direct witness to the initial conversation with Donald Trump and direct witnesses to the subsequent conversations.”

Karl read quotes from his sources, who said, “[Trump] didn’t care. It was a punishment.”

This comes after Florida Sen. Rick Scott, chairman of the Senate GOP’s campaign arm, told NBC’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday that the group supports Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) in her re-election campaign, despite the fact that her opponent is endorsed by Donald Trump.

Trump in June endorsed former Alaska commissioner Kelly Tshibaka in her Senate race against Murkowski, who was one of seven Republicans to vote to convict Trump of inciting the Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection.

Murkowski was one of those who stood up against Trump following the capitol insurrection on Jan 6. and has not been a supporter of the billionaire businessman.

Why was Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo a success? (read)

Immediately upon retirement as CBN Governor, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo in his quest to become the Governor of Anambra State joined the then ruling party at the Federal level PDP where he emerged third in the 2010 Anambra Guber election won by Peter Obi.

Realising APGA had Anambra as the ruling Party,a fter the 2010 election he joined APGA. In all these he was careful and never mistaken. He declared and ran for the APGA Gubernatorial primaries in 2013 seeking the flag of the party to run and replace then outgoing Government Peter Obi.

He failed to get the anointing and blessing of Peter Obi as preferred candidate or gain his sponsorship. Peter Obama chose a relatively unknown Willie Obiano and a fellow JJC, and first timer, in politics.

Prof. Soludo ran on his personal merit against Peter Obi’s anointed candidate. As JJC, he was served the usual political algebra.

He was served a dose of the Nigerian political jiggry-pokkery😆. Obiano emerged APGA candidate and the rest today is history. But there is a serious lesson here. Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo did not go to Court to challenge Obiano. He did not become toxic and try to instigate bad blood within APGA.

He did not threaten hell and brimestone. He did not run to ChannelsTV and AIT to demolish his party and tell the world all the ills about his party. He did nothing to whittle down APGA’s strength to benefit other parties. While most of the PDP leaders and aspirants betrayed their party, Soludo gave Obiano all the support, even when he knew he was better qualified than Obiano and deserved the APGA guber ticket in the 2013 primaries.

He went underground, was humble, submitted to Willy Obiano. More importantly he submitted to APGA leadership and Obiano as leader of APGA. He began to learn party loyalty, ibu akpa, and izu okwe politiksi. Soludo bent down and began to see Aba. But that’s not all. In pre-2017 Obiano was to finish his first term.

Anambra Governorship was thrown open again. Soludo subsumed his interest into Obiano’s ambition. Soludo humbled himself despite being highly qualified. He didn’t run for Anambra Guber 2017. He supported Obiano. He served Obiano. He was loyal to APGA and contributed to the growth of the party.

So when 2021 came and Obiano was to choose a favorite candidate, he chose Soludo. Against the war by Umeoji and the rest, Obiano stood by him.Serious lessons to learn from Soludo.

1. If you want to run for election, research Nigeria Politics. Work to break in through the established political parties. It gives you 50% ahead mileage over others.

2. Join the ruling party, learn their ways and plan to change the system from within. Stop fighting from outside.

3. Don’t be toxic when you run and lose. Dont go fighting the political party. It didn’t favor you today, doesnt mean it won’t favor you tomorrow. Soludo was patient and today, he got his dream to become the front line APGA Governorship candidate and coasting home to becoming the Governor. Not by fighting APGA and Obiano, but because he was graceful and humble in the face of adversity within the party.

4. Stop jumping from one party to another party. Being inconsistent doesn’t pay. Nuhu Ribadu moved from APC to PDP, from PDP to APC all in search of Adamawa Governorship. Governor Fintiri stayed in PDP and today he became Governor over the popular acclaimed Ribadu. Respect party leadership. In Nigeria party loyalty is key to benefitting from party.

5. Finally, _ayaghara party, ntonto party_ can finish your political career. If Soludo ran with all these small parties, even with all his credentials, may be he would have ended up garnering 100 votes in most of the LGAs in Anambra. In Nigeria politics, two strong political parties has evolved, with few other parties like APGA polling strong in some corners as regional parties. If you want to change the system, join the big parties and softly start working to engender change from within.

If you vex go join ayaghara party, you go blow grammar tire and still lose woefully at the elections.Soludo spent 8 solid years serving Obiano, even when he ran against his boss, predecessor and benefactor and came 3rd in 2010.

Did you learn anything from Soludo’s APGA experience? Me I learnt big time. Patience, consistency, loyalty, humility, team spirit, good followership can be rewarding in the long run.

Life is about learning and continuous learning.

Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin blesses some repentant sex workers with N6M cash

While the sex workers publicly repented, narrating their ordeal, including encounters with kidnappers as the senior prophet of Christ Mercyland Deliverance Ministry, billionaire Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin led them to Jesus Christ, little did they know that they would return to their homes as millionaires.

The incident, which happened at the church’s Sunday Service earlier today, saw about six sex workers crying uncontrollably as they were gifted N6 million by the pastor.

The development started as one of the sex workers (names concealed) came out to testify of her miraculous victory from the hand of kidnappers, who disguised for patronage.

According to her, she ended in the bush after the man had enticed her with a promise of N200, 000 but was saved due to the band of the church she was wearing on her ankle.

“It was when I got to the bush that I realized what was going on. The man carried a long knife and wanted to cut through my throat but the knife fell of repeatedly. He started calling me a witch and later ran. I managed to find my way to the road before some people helped me,” she said.

Fufeyin had called out other ladies, who were addicted to smoking, drinking, and prostitution, delivering them and offering them six million naira.

While the former sex workers were jubilating, the prophet referred to them as God’s children, stressing that except for someone with a spiritual understanding, ordinary people would not understand the implications of what the church is doing.

This won’t be the first time the prophet did a similar gesture, in August, about 15 sex workers, who encountered a life-changing moment at the church recounted horrible experiences they face as the prophet gifted them with N15m. Just last week ailing Nollywood Actor Emeka Ani was assisted with 6million Naira for his medical needs.

In a video shared on the internet and watched by this medium, the founder of the church, Fufeyin had during a church service asked people engaged in sex work (prostitution) to accept Jesus Christ and turn from their ways. About 15 ladies answered the ‘alter call’ and were led to Christ while being offered a Bible.
God Bless Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin.

It was not only a moment of a spiritual turnaround for some sex workers, who embraced Christ and repented from prostitution at the Christ Mercyland Deliverance Ministry in Warri but an end to financial woes.

Saul Alvarez beats Caleb Plant to become boxing’s undisputed super middleweight champion

Saul Canelo Alvarez is now the undisputed super middleweight champion of the world after knocking out Caleb Plant in Las Vegas, to become the king of the division.

The Mexican ended the fight with an 11th-round knockout of the American, taking Plant’s IBF super-middleweight title and defending his own WBC, WBO, and WBA belts.

That was the second knockdown of the round for Alvarez, who had first sent Plant sprawling with a powerful left hook. “That‘s the way it had to finish. I went for the kill,” he said after the fight.

Alvarez was well ahead on all of the scorecards 97-93, 96-94, 98-92 – at the time of referee Russell Mora’s stoppage.

Alvarez, who remains undefeated since losing on points to Floyd Mayweather Jnr in 2013, is only the sixth boxer since 1988 and first from Mexico to be undisputed world champion after getting his hands on Plant’s belt.

He adds it to the WBA and WBC belts he took from Callum Smith last December and the WBO title he won off Billy Joe Saunders in May.

Plant was unbeaten in 22 fights before fighting Alvarez. He had held the belt since 2019 and defended it three times, but his two-year reign ended after Alvarez defeated him today.

The Mexican became unanimous champion with his knockout victory when the fight was stopped by the referee at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

“It hasn‘t been easy to get to this point. With your support, my family and my team, we got very far. This is for everybody, especially for Mexico,” Alvarez said in the ring draped in his belts.

Shortly after the split, it was alleged that West briefly dated Irina Shayk, though sources maintained they were just friends who had known each other for a long time. Kardashian, meanwhile, has recently been sparking romance rumors with “Saturday Night Live” star Pete Davidson.

Death toll from Ikoyi building collapse rises to 42 while 15 survivors have so far been rescued

Taking to his social media handles, the Governor wrote;

”I went back to the site today to assess the level of work being done, and to get an update on the search, recovery and evacuation of the victims of the unfortunate incident.

I went in company of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and my colleague, Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state.

An additional 6 people were discovered to have been rescued alive on the first day by first responders and taken to the police hospital before the arrival of LASEMA. This bumped up the number of people rescued alive to a total of 15, while we have sadly recovered 42 bodies so far.

In order to help survivors and families of the victims cushion the effect of the loss of their daily bread and the loss of their loved ones, we have set aside some money to assist in the burial arrangements, and for survivors to settle in and cope with challenges of feeding in the aftermath of the incident.

As at this morning, 49 families have filled a missing persons register, which has greatly helped us reconcile the details of victims rescued alive and also medically account for bodies recovered.
Identification of bodies by relatives has also commenced, and DNA examinations are being undertaken on some of the bodies difficult to be identified by families.

Though so much progress has been made on the site, and the heap has reduced significantly, search and recovery operations are still ongoing, and I assure you we won’t relent on our efforts until all missing persons have been accounted for.

May the souls of everyone who lost their lives on that site, and anywhere around the world Rest In Peace. Amen.”

Insecurity: ISIS fighters from Libya, Syria in Nigeria as ISWAP plans fresh attacks

ISIS troops are battle-ready, just days after intelligence disrupted an attempt by the Islamic State’s West Africa Province (ISWAP) to smuggle military uniforms into Nigeria.

ISWAP is expected to target Baga, Malam Fatori, and Marte towns in Borno State soon, according to Eons Intelligence.

Tori Media gathered that more than 200 ISIS mercenaries from Libya and Syria are currently stationed in the Sabon Tumbu axis to support them.

Their arrival coincided with Sani Shuwaram’s appointment as the new ISWAP leader (Wali). Malam Bako is succeeded by him.

After the death of Abu Musab Al-Barnawi, Bako was slain while functioning as the sect’s leader.

Al-Barnawi, son of the late Boko Haram founder Mohammed Yusuf, was eliminated during a battle with security forces.

The ISIS fighters now within the Nigerian territory observed Jummat prayers on Friday at Sabon Tumbu in the Lake Chad region.

The planned assault in and around Borno border villages seeks to consolidate ISWAP’s grip in the zone.

It is already established that ISIS, through ISWAP, desires to take over towns and enforce Islamic rule in spite of ongoing military campaigns against their activities.

ISWAP currently dominates Lake Chad after hundreds of Boko Haram members defected following the death of JAS leader, Abubakar Shekau in May.

As part of counter-terrorism efforts, the Buhari administration has approved extra assets to boost North East Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK).

A notorious drug dealer behind London-bound multiple cocaine and meth trafficking arrested

A notorious drug dealer, Okoli Collins Ikenna, who is the mastermind of recent multiple attempts to export illicit drugs to London in the United Kingdom through the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, MMIA, and some courier companies in Lagos has been arrested by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA.

1 2

Director, Media & Advocacy of the agency, Femi Babafemi, in a statement on Sunday, said that Okoli has been on court bail following his arrest in November 2020 and subsequent arraignment before a Lagos Federal High Court for attempting to export 15.700kgs of Methamphetamine to Australia.

“Series of investigations into recent multiple attempts to export illicit drugs to the UK led to the arrest of the drug dealer on Tuesday 2nd November, when he was caught with 78 parcels of Cannabis, concealed in black soap packs labelled as Dudu Osun, with a total weight of 12.250 kilograms heading to United Kingdom,” the statement read.

“Further investigation also revealed that Okoli is the one behind the attempt to export 7.350kgs of Cannabis to the UK on Thursday 21st October, a consignment that was intercepted at NAHCO export shed of the MMIA,”

“Curiously, a separate investigation by operatives of the Directorate of Operations and General Investigation, DOGI, of the Agency, attached to courier companies have equally traced two other attempts to export 47.7kgs of cannabis to the UK through courier firms, to Okoli after his agents arrested in the course of investigation named him as the owner of the consignments,”

Earlier on Wednesday 3rd November, operatives of the Kano command of the Agency had arrested one Mizambilu Tijjani, with 64kgs of Cannabis sativa and Victor Nsodikwa Chu-chu, with 34 cartons of Pentazocine injection and one carton of Diazepam injection in Sabongari area of the city.

In a related development, operatives of the Osun state command have seized 130.518kgs of cannabis and 18grams of Cocaine in Modakeke area of Ile-Ife.

Impressed by the outcome of investigations that led to the dismantling of the drug syndicate led by Okoli in Lagos, Chairman/Chief Executive of NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Retd) commended the officers and men of the MMIA command, DOGI and their counterparts in Kano, Kogi and Osun for sustaining the heat on the cartels across the country.

He urged them and their compatriots in other commands to intensify the offensive action against all merchants of death in Nigeria.

Fuel tanker explosion kills over 100 people in Sierra Leone (photos)

The death toll after a fuel tanker exploded over the weekend in a suburb of Sierra Leone’s capital, Freetown, has increased by 99 with more than 100 people injured.

The tragic incident happened late on Friday November 5, when a fuel tanker exploded following a collision, and many people rushed to the scene to siphon off petrol.

The death toll on Saturday afternoon stood at 99, with more than 100 people being treated in hospitals and clinics across the city, deputy health minister Amara Jambai told Reuters news agency.

Mohamed Lamrane Bah, director of communications for Sierra Leone’s National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA), told CNN that several people were also in critical condition following the explosion.

Authorities have transferred injured people to hospitals and collected the bodies, and the rescue effort at the scene has ended, Bah added.

The explosion occurred after two vehicles collided on the highway while the fuel tanker was about to enter a nearby filling station to discharge its fuel, the NDMA said in a statement posted to Facebook on Saturday afternoon.

“Footage and eyewitnesses intimated that while the collision took place, both drivers came out of their vehicles and warned community residents to stay off the scene while trying to address a leakage emanating from the collision,” the statement said.

It added that while that was happening, “some community members rushed to the scene and took advantage of the leakage to scoop fuel and store it in nearby makeshift structures.”

“In the cause of scooping the fuel, there was a major explosion that resulted in the fire disaster that occurred,” it said.

The NDMA immediately visited the scene and coordinated emergency response with partners. Ambulances were assembled to take corpses and those in critical situations to various hospitals in Freetown.

There have been 92 people admitted to hospitals within Freetown, the NDMA statement said.

Nigerian scammer found guilty of defrauding a 65-year-old woman in Guyana of $6M

A Nigerian man, allegedly part of an international criminal network in which women are befriended on social media and promised lavish gifts and jewellery, for which they are made to pay money, has been found guilty on 10 counts of obtaining money by false pretense.

Uche Raymond Okoye, also known as Uche Parker, who was charged back in February, had been on trial for the offences before Magistrate Annette Singh in that Georgetown Magistrate’s Court. Read previous report HERE

Between October and November 2020, at Georgetown, with intent to defraud, he obtained $6,059,900 from 65-year-old Suruj Dei Balkaran by falsely claiming he had packages for her.

The convict has been further remanded to prison pending sentencing, which will take place on November 11.

He had initially pleaded not guilty to the charges. It was the Special Organised Crime Unit (SOCU), an arm of the Guyana Police Force (GPF), which filed the charges against him. The SOCU said that Okoye solicited funds from women after befriending them on Facebook under an alias.

During that time, he informed the victim about the supposed packages containing the latest gadgets and electronic devices. He reportedly told the older woman that he would be sending the items, and that she would need to contact a representative who would clear the packages and deliver them to her. The representative he referred to was himself, the SOCU prosecutor said.

According to the prosecutor, the Nigerian national sent the woman a WhatsApp number on which he could be contacted about the transactions. The woman paid the monies, expecting to collect the packages, but every time, she was told of some complications, and was instructed to send more cash via bank transfers and Western Union.

During Okoye’s trial, the elderly woman testified that she has been a vendor all her life, and that the monies she was scammed of were her life savings. She disclosed that she sent monies to him on 10 different occasions. Other witnesses testified that monies were sent to their bank accounts, and that they were paid a percentage of the sum upon withdrawing it.

Last November, Okoye appeared at a city court and pleaded not guilty to two counts of obtaining money by false pretense, one count of demanding money by menace, and one count of illegal entry.

The Police Force said the man entered Guyana from Brazil without presenting himself to the nearest immigration officer. The Police have said he is part of a criminal network that has been operating in Guyana which has links to the United States of America, the United Kingdom, Peru, Brazil, Venezuela, Argentina, Paraguay and other countries.

According to the Police, the perpetrators would send a Facebook friend request to the intended victims, particularly women, and seek communication via WhatsApp. Police informed that the mastermind, who is residing overseas, would express a romantic interest in the women, and would later tell them he would be sending gifts and jewellery.

The women would later receive a call from someone purporting to be employed at a shipping company about a box arriving at the airport for them. At this point, the Police said, the women would be instructed to pay various sums of money to several individuals to uplift the boxes and to avoid prosecution.

These monies are sent to identified persons through money transfer services or a post office. But once the money is sent, the mastermind is never heard from again, and the victim never receives the packages.

West Ham beats Liverpool 3-2

David Moyes’ coached West Ham leapfrogged Liverpool into third place on Sunday evening, November 7, denying Jurgen Klopp’s side a chance at making history with a stunning 3-2 victory.

Liverpool arrived at the Hammers stadium knowing that if they avoided defeat they would extend their unbeaten run to 26 matches, surpassing the club’s all-time record set by Bob Paisley’s team in 1982.

West Ham 3-2 Liverpool: Hammers enter top three spot as Jurgen Klopp

West Ham took the lead in the fourth minute when Alisson, under pressure from Angelo Ogbonna as he leapt for the ball, touched Fornals’ corner into the net.

Diogo Jota, starting in place of the injured striker, Roberto Firmino, could have equalised on the half hour but sent his header from Jordan Henderson’s cross over the crossbar.

Alexander Arnold scored a wonderful freekick when Liverpool were awarded a contentious free-kick with five minutes left.

At the start of the second half Dawson’s header hit the crossbar, while Sadio Mane’s volley was kept out by Fabianski.

Then Bowen broke the Liverpool defence in the 67th minute after Dawson and Rice smuggled the ball away for West Ham from inside their own half.

Kurt Zouma then headed a third goal which was enough for West Ham even though Liverpool’s Divock Origi scored one goal with seven minutes remaining.

The owner of collapsed Ikoyi building’s family at war over his money, exotic cars and other assets

A few days after his body was recovered from the rubble, the wife and brothers of Femi Osibona, owner of the 21-storey building that collapsed in the Ikoyi area of Lagos State on Monday, November 1, are reported to be at loggerheads over his properties.

SaharaReporters reports that the wife, who had just flown in from the United States, tried gaining access to her husband’s apartment along Mosley Road, Ikoyi but was denied access by some of Osibona’s brothers.

According to the report, Mrs Osibona who had four children for the late Femi is presently in a fight to finish with the brothers who are laying claim to the deceased’s array of exotic cars, and other assets. The family allegedly denied the wife access to the deceased’s apartment because there were bundles of money, keys to expensive vehicles and others in the house.”

According to the reports, the two family factions came with Mobile Police Officers (MOPOL) after which they were all locked out by residents of the building who are neighbours of the deceased.

A source told the publication;

“The brothers and wife of Femi Osibona are fighting over access to bank details of the deceased and keys to expensive vehicles. This is despite the fact that the man has a wife and four kids. The body is yet to be buried; they are already fighting over his property. His wife was at the site yesterday, shouting at his brothers. I think there are loads of cash in the house.

“Femi’s brothers have stopped his wife and daughter from getting into his apartment. It is such a mess that money has become the root of all this evil. The brother asked the wife to go and stay at the hotel and she claimed she has no money to go there.”

Another source was quoted as saying

”The woman came to the house with MOPOL; the family also engaged the services of MOPOL. On each side, there were about twenty people shouting on one another. When it was already midnight, we chased every one of them out of the house. They were outside till midnight shouting, swearing, boasting and threatening. Instead of mourning, these people were fighting over assets. They have also engaged popular lawyer, Olisa Agbakoba, on the matter.”

Late Osibona’s body was discovered among others during the rescue operation on Thursday. There had been concerns over the whereabouts of Osibona, Wale Bob-Oseni, his friend, and others trapped in the building.

Bob-Oseni, who was to catch a flight to the US, briefly made a detour to see the project at the invitation of the developer but did not walk out alive. On Monday, the building located on Gerrard Road, Ikoyi, Lagos collapsed with a yet-to-be-ascertained number of persons still trapped beneath the rubble. The death toll currently stands at over 40 persons.

Japanese death row inmates sue Govt. over psychological damage caused by last-minute notice

Two death row inmates in Japan are suing the government for psychological damage over a system issuing last-minute notice to prisoners of their execution.

The two inmates argue the current system is illegal and are calling for prisoners to receive notice in advance.

The suit filed before the Osaka district court Thursday also seeks compensation of 22 million yen ($193,000) for the distress caused by living with uncertainty about their execution date, according to their lawyer.

‘This tramples on human dignity,’ Yutaka Ueda told AFP.

Death row inmates are usually informed just one to two hours prior to their execution and do not have time to see their lawyer or file a complaint, he explained.

He said ‘They live in fear, thinking every morning “Maybe today is the day” when they hear the sound of guards’ shoes.’

Documents and news archives show that Japan used to give death row inmates more notice, but stopped around 1975.

Japan, where over 100 inmates are awaiting execution, is one of the few developed nations that still have the death penalty.

Executions are usually implemented long after sentencing, always by hanging. For decades, authorities have always told death row, inmates, just hours before an execution is carried out.

INEC could’nt identify and capture voters, voting continues in Anambra till Sunday (video)

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has extended voting in the Anambra State governorship election till Sunday, November 7.

Announcing this to newsmen, the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr NwachukwuOrji, said this is to enable those who could not cast their votes today, Saturday, November 6, due to the malfunctioning of the Bimodal Voters Accreditation System (BIVAS) machine, to do so.

Mass failure of the machines were recorded during the voting exercise today November 6.

Orji said the closing of voting had been shifted from 2.30 pm to 4. pm after and that the exercise will continue on Sunday in units where voting could not hold. He said the machines suffered software hitches, adding that the commission’s engineers were working to rectify the problem.

He stated that materials did not arrive on time at some polling units because some drivers and ad-hoc staff failed to turn up.

Japan Govt. agrees to give about €850 to all its citizens 18 years and less

Japan plans to distribute 100,000 yen ($880) in cash, vouchers or a combination of both to people who are 18 years or younger as part of an economic stimulus plan aimed at blunting the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic

The economic stimulus package, worth hundreds of billions of dollars, is planned to be created by the end of the month.

Under the plan, households with be entitled to receive 100,000 yen per child regardless of household income around spring 2022.

The government will tap its reserves in state coffers to fund the cash payouts, the Yomiuri newspaper reported on Friday, Nov. 5, suggesting the plan will not lead to a huge issuance of government debt.

New Prime Minister Fumio Kishida’s administration is also considering offering cash payouts to low-income households and temporary workers, the paper said, adding that details were being worked out by the ruling party.

“Compared with the previous blanket payout covering all households, more of the money could be funnelled into consumer spending this time because it targets those in need of cash,” said Masato Koike, senior economist at Dai-ichi Life Research Institute.

But some are skeptical about how effective the handouts will be in boosting the economy. When the government gave away the same amount to all residents in Japan in April 2020, most chose to save it rather than spend, creating little stimulus to the economy.

Jeff Bezos sells $2 billion of his Amazon Stock

The world’s second richest man, Jeff Bezos has sold $2b worth of his stock in Amazon, the world’s biggest retailer, according to a new report by Forbes.

Bezos sold the shares earlier this week while he was in Glasgow at the COP26 climate summit. The sale came as Bezos, the world’s second richest person, promised in a speech at the summit that he will spend $2 billion from his Earth Fund on restoring nature and transforming food systems.

“We must conserve what we still have, we must restore what we’ve lost, and we must grow what we need to live without degrading the planet for future generations to come,” Bezos said during his talk in Glasgow.

The sale, after accounting for capital gains taxes, barely changes his net worth. As of Friday, November 5, Bezos is worth $199.4 billion, Forbes estimates. He trails the number one richest, Elon Musk (worth an estimated $317 billion), by about $118 billion.

Bezos has sold more than $8.8 billion worth of Amazon stock this year. Since taking Amazon public in 1998, the founder of the e-commerce giant has sold some $29 billion worth of Amazon shares, Forbes calculates; his stake in the company has gone from 42% in 1997 to just under 10% currently.

Behold the Covid-19 pill ! it stops death by 89% – Pfizer says

An experimental pill to treat Covid developed by pharmaceutical giants, Pfizer cuts the risk of hospitalisation or death by 89% in vulnerable adults, the company has announced.

The drug – Paxlovid – is intended for use soon after symptoms develop in people at high risk of severe disease.

Pfizer says it stopped trials early as the initial results were so positive.

The positive news comes a day after the UK medicines regulator approved a similar treatment from Merck Sharp and Dohme (MSD).

The UK has already ordered 250,000 courses of the new Pfizer treatment along with another 480,000 courses of MSD’s molnupiravir pill.

The Pfizer drug, known as a protease inhibitor, is designed to block an enzyme the virus needs in order to multiply. When taken alongside a low dose of another antiviral pill called ritonavir, it stays in the body for longer.

Three pills are taken twice a day for five days.

Unlike the Pfizer drug, the Merck pill introduces errors into the genetic code of the virus.

Pfizer said it plans to submit interim trial results for its pill to US drug regulator, the FDA, as part of the emergency use application it started last month.

The company’s chairman and chief executive officer Albert Bourla said the pill had “the potential to save patients’ lives, reduce the severity of Covid-19 infections, and eliminate up to nine out of 10 hospitalisations”.

Interim data from trials of the treatment in 1,219 high-risk patients who had recently been infected with Covid found that 0.8% of those given Paxlovid were hospitalised compared with 7% of patients who were given a placebo or dummy pill.

Those given the pill were treated within three days of Covid symptoms starting.

Seven patients given the placebo died compared to no one dying among the group given the pill.

When treated within five days of symptoms appearing, 1% given Paxlovid ended up in hospital and none died. This compared to 6.7% of the placebo group being hospitalised and 10 of them dying.

Patients in the trial, were elderly or had an underlying health condition which put them at higher risk of serious illness from Covid. They all had mild to moderate symptoms of coronavirus.

Lady falls to her death after posing for selfie on a cliff

A 33-year-old Belgian woman fell 100 feet to her death after posing for a selfie on the edge of a cliff during a trip with her husband.

Zoe Snoeks slipped off the precipice near the village of Nadrin in the province of Luxembourg on Tuesday, Nov. 2, and landed in the Ourthe River, Newsflash reported, citing the public prosecutor’s office.

Her body was recovered by a team of rescuers that included police, firefighters, scuba divers and members of the Groupe de Recherche et d’Intervention en Milieu Perilleux, or Perilous Environment Reconnaissance and Intervention Group.

Her husband, Joeri Janssen, whom she married in 2012, told the outlet that they went to the scenic site on Sunday, October 31, in their camper van.

“Since the pandemic, it was our little thing to drive across Europe in our van and take beautiful photos,” he said.

The couple, who traveled with their dogs Joy and Ivy, had planned to return to their home in the province of Limburg on the day of the tragedy.

Joeri told Newflash: “We got up very early to take pictures of the Herou. There is almost always mist there. It’s great for photos. We arrived before 9 a.m.”

He said his wife snapped photos on the edge of the cliff when “she told me to look out for the dogs.”

He continued: “I turned to the dogs and told them to wait. When I turned back to Zoe, she was no longer there. She had just vanished. It must have happened in less than five seconds.

“I didn’t see or hear anything. No rustling, no screams or shouts. I looked up and saw only dust.

“I called her even though I knew it was hopeless. The chasm was several tens of meters deep.

“I immediately called the emergency services, but had almost no network. They didn’t understand me, even though I speak a little French.”

INEC may transmit Anambra poll results electronically – Senate

Chairman of the Senate Committee on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Kabiru Gaya has given the electoral commission a nod to transmit the November 6 Anambra State governorship election result electronically.

Gaya said this while addressing reporters after the National Assembly Joint Committee on Electoral Matters and INEC met with stakeholders on the governorship poll in Anambra State.

When asked if the electoral body could transmit results of the election electronically, the Chairman of the Senate Committee on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) said;

“It is left for INEC to decide whether it will transfer the election results in Anambra or not. They have done that in the previous elections in Edo and Ondo states.

“Even before the INEC started transmitting elections results from polling units, Nigerians have been monitoring results of elections the moments they are being announced at polling stations. By 4 p.m, even before the final results are announced, many Nigerians would have seen them on the internet. Nigerians are fully involved in elections.”

Gaya also revealed that INEC assured the joint committee that it would go ahead with the Anambra poll and declare the winner, despite the prevailing security situation in the state.

He added;

“We expect the people of the state to cooperate fully with the electoral body by being law-abiding.

“The only way to achieve free, fair and credible election in Anambra is for everybody to eschew violence.”

INEC National Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu on his own part said they’ve recovered from the attacks carried out by unknown persons in the state weeks ago.

He said;

“We have recovered from the series of attacks on our facilities. I am happy to say that we have deployed all the non-sensitive materials to all the local government areas. We have trained the requisite number of ad hoc workers for the election and we have also mobilised members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) for efficient distribution of materials on Election Day. As far as INEC is concerned, we are good to go on November 6, 2021.”

On distribution of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) in Anambra State, he added;

“We have a little over 81,000 valid registrants. After the suspension of the CVR (Continuous Voter Registration) in Anambra State, that includes a little over 5,000 that applied for replacement of cards and intra-state and inter-state transfers.

“As we speak, we are batching the cards. They will leave first thing tomorrow morning (today) for Awka (the state capital) and all the new registrants will get their cards before the elections.

“This time round with the help of technology, we were able to harvest the telephone numbers and email addresses of the registrants.

“So, we will contact each and every one of them and tell them where to pick their cards. But the cards will be delivered to Awka tomorrow.”

Sit-at-home-order: Anambra streets lonely

Streets in Awka, Anambra state are currently deserted despite the decision of the Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB to lift its sit-at-home order.

The group had earlier announced plans to call for a sit-at-home order to protest the continued incaceration of its leader, Nnamdi Kanu. This would have disrupted the state’s governorship elected slated for November 6. However, on Thursday, November 4, the group announced its decision to halt the order.

Despite the suspension of the order, residents of the state decided to remain indoors today. All public and private enterprises remained under lock and key this morning. See more photos below

‘Terrorists may use Smallpox as a biological weapon’ – Bill Gates warns

Microsoft CEO, Bill Gates has called on governments to give billions in research and development funding to prevent future pandemics and ‘bio-terrorism’.

The American billionaire warned that world leaders must prepare for disasters like ‘smallpox terror attacks’ and called for the formation of a new billion-dollar World Health Organisation Pandemic Task Force.

Bill Gates gave the warning and bid for funds during a Policy Exchange thinktank interview with chair of the Health Select Committee and former UK health secretary Jeremy Hunt yesterday.

He said that countries like the US and the UK must spend ‘tens of billions’ to fund the research.

‘I’m hoping in five years, I can write a book called, ‘We ARE ready for the next pandemic’, but it’ll take tens of billions in R&D – the US and the UK will be part of that’, he said.

‘It’ll take probably about a billion a year for a pandemic Task Force at the WHO level, which is doing the surveillance and actually doing what I call ‘germ games’ where you practise.’

Gates suggested that the ‘germ-games’ could include preparing for acts of bioterrorism such as smallpox attacks on airports, likening them to ‘war-games’ used by militaries to train for conflicts the world over.

‘You say, OK, what if a bioterrorist brought smallpox to 10 airports? You know, how would the world respond to that?’ Gates said.

‘There’s naturally-caused epidemics and bioterrorism-caused epidemics that could even be way worse than what we experienced today.’

The world’s fourth-richest man also anticipated the ‘incredibly beneficial’ medical innovations that will come from increased funding for pandemic prevention.

‘The nice thing is a lot of the R&D we need to do to be ready for the next pandemic are things like making vaccines cheap, having big factories, eradicating the flu, getting rid of the common cold, making vaccines just a little patch you put on your arm, things that will be incredibly beneficial even in the years when we don’t have pandemics,’ he said.

He added that he will continue to talk about pandemic preparedness, as part of his work as a philanthropist.

He said: ‘So along with the climate message and the ongoing fight against diseases of the poor, pandemic preparedness is something I’ll be talking about a lot.

‘And I think it’ll find fertile ground because, you know, we lost trillions of dollars and millions of lives. And citizens expect their governments not to let that happen again.’

Kanye West accuses Drake of sleeping with his wife Kim Kardashian and lying about it

Billionaire rapper, and fashion designer, Kanye West has opened up on his rivalry with his colleague, Drake, accusing the Canadian born rapper of alluding to ‘fu**ing’ his wife and then lying to him about it.

On Thursday night, November 4, Kanye West was a guest on the Revolt TV podcast Drink Champs.

Kanye West accuses Drake of lying to him about sleeping with his wife Kim Kardashian

In a two-hour conversation the 44-year-old covered a lot of ground, saying he didn’t want to divorce Kim Kardashian as she was still his ‘wife’.

He praised Drake, calling him

‘a very important artist who added something to the algorithm.”The style of rap that he was doing was more sophisticated than the style of rap that I grew up on,’ Kanye said approvingly, adding that Drake’s song had ‘good melodies’ and ‘good music.’

He claimed that Drake said to him,

‘I never f***ed Kim.”

But you acted like you did,’ Kanye continued. ‘You’ve got bars, it’s like, “Hidden Hills, give your wife the chills.”‘

Hidden Hills is the highbrow area in Los Angeles where Kanye and Kim both lived with their kids before she bought the house from him last month amid their ongoing divorce proceedings.

He said it was disrespectful that Drake rapped that line and said he asked Drake if he ever ‘DMed’ Kim. To which the rapper denied.

But after he was asked if he could ‘smoke’ Drake in a Verzuz battle, Kanye replied, ‘Yeah, absolutely.’

‘But it already happened,’ he added. ‘He played one of my leaked songs and it was better than every other song this year,’ he said of a track that featured Outkast’s Andre 3000.

Kanye also denied leaking Drake’s address, after he posted a map image with an address on social media that is believed to be the location of Drake’s Toronto mansion.

‘No, he advertised it when he was building the house,’ he claimed. ‘Everyone knows it. It’s like a place in Canada you go by. It’s like a monument.”You can find it. That’s how I was able to find it,’ he added. ‘It’s Googleable. It’s on Google Maps.’

He also complained that those close to him worried he was having an ‘episode’ whenever he referenced his feuds in his music.

He defended his reactions after believing that Drake threatened him on a track.

‘A man threatening my life on a song and they wonder why you end up in the hospital,’ he said, adding that Drake was ‘driving me crazy’ with his jabs in songs.

Mazi Obi Cubana regains freedom after 3 nights with EFCC to face courts soon

Socialite and businessman, Obinna Iyiegbu aka Obi Cubana, has regained his freedom from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission after three nights of interrogation.

He was arrested on November 1 over allegations of money laundering and tax fraud.

He regained his freedom this evening, November 4.

But there are indications that the businessman would be summoned in future to defend himself in court over issues bordering on currency abuse, tax fraud and money laundering based on what a top source called ‘verified business transactions’.

It will be recalled that the EFCC had on Monday invited the businessman to its head office to answer some questions which the agency classified as tax fraud and money laundering but declined to give specifics, apparently to avoid jeopardising the probe.
