Russia’s Foreign Ministry has urged foreign nationals and diplomatic staff to leave Kyiv immediately, warning of upcoming strikes targeting Ukraine’s military-industrial facilities and decision-making centers. The warning follows a wave of intense Russian attacks over the weekend that hit the Ukrainian capital, killing several people and injuring dozens.
Moscow confirmed it had used its next-generation Orechnik missile for the third time since the war began. Russian officials also called on the United States to evacuate its embassy in Kyiv, while France rejected the warning, saying its diplomats would remain in place despite what it described as routine threats from the Kremlin.
Ukraine condemned the announcement as “Russian blackmail” and appealed to allies for increased military support. The tensions escalated further after Moscow accused Ukrainian forces of carrying out a deadly drone strike in the occupied Luhansk region, an attack Kyiv says targeted Russian military positions.
