Pastor Feyi Daniels arrested by Tinubu for failed prophecy

Founder of iReign Christian Ministry Sentenced to Life Imprisonment for Rape

Feyi Daniels, the founder of iReign Christian Ministry, has been sentenced to life imprisonment for raping a female church member in 2020.

An Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence court found the Lagos-based cleric guilty of rape and sexual assault.

According to the victim, who was based in Ilorin, she was summoned to the Lagos headquarters of the church where the incident happened.

Daniels punished her for not attending a meeting by ordering her to his house in Lekki for punishment.

When she got there, he ordered that she put off her clothes because he wanted to beat her.

Recounting her rape experience, she said, “The following day, we were in the sitting room listening to a pastor’s message when he said I should go naked again.

I did, and surprisingly, he also went naked and raped me for about 30 minutes till I started bleeding because of the tears I sustained despite not being a virgin.”

The victim reported the case in 2022 at the FCID Alagbon, Lagos, leading to the arrest of pastor Daniels.

During his trial, Daniels accused three of the victims of conspiracy, but the court found him guilty and sentenced him to life imprisonment.

It is disheartening to hear about cases of sexual assault and rape happening within religious institutions.

We hope that justice has been served for the victim and that this case serves as a reminder to all religious leaders to uphold the trust and respect of their congregants.
