Abby and Brittany were born on March 7, 1990, in Carver County, Minnesota. At birth, the doctors discovered that they were dicephalic parapagus twins, as they had a single body, but each had a separate heart, stomach, spine, pair of lungs, and spinal cord. From the waist downwards, the twins share all the organs.
