The Senator representing Anambra North at the Senate, Stella Oduah yesterday stood as surety for the embattled former governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano after he allegedly embarked on a hunger strike.
Stella Oduah stepped in as a surety because of the stringent bail conditions that was given to the Aguleri born politician by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
Though, as part of his bail conditions, the travel documents of the former governor was seized by the anti-graft agency pending when he will be arraigned officially.
Recall that Obiano was arrested on Thursday last week by EFCC at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, hours after he handed over power to professor Chuwkuma Soludo.
He was reportedly fleeing to Houston Texas in the United States of America when he was nabbed by EFCC.
He was subsequently transferred to the headquarters of the commission, where he was grilled for days over alleged misappropriation of 42 billion naira.
