Manchester United forward Alejandro Garnacho could be on his way to Chelsea on a loan deal this summer, according to highly respected transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. The Argentine talent is reportedly among a quartet of high-profile players excluded from Erik ten Hag’s pre-season tour squad, having been told to seek opportunities elsewhere.
Romano further reports that Garnacho is insistent on remaining in the Premier League, with Chelsea remaining “attentive to the situation.” Alongside Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, Antony, and Tyrell Malacia were also notably omitted from the pre-season travelling party.
Despite the growing speculation, Romano clarifies that there have been no direct club-to-club discussions between Chelsea and Manchester United regarding Garnacho. However, the Argentine winger remains firmly on the Blues’ transfer shortlist, though their current “priority remains to advance on Xavi Simons at this stage.”
Meanwhile, elsewhere in the Premier League, Arsenal are reportedly on the cusp of finalising a significant transfer, with documents now being checked for Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyökeres.
The move, which will see the Swedish forward join the Gunners, is understood to include specific add-ons totalling €10 million. Fabrizio Romano also confirmed that while the medical will be booked shortly after the document finalisation, it was never scheduled for Wednesday, alleviating any potential concerns. The verbal agreement for the transfer is said to be “100% done.”
