In-Fighting: 2 Taliban leaders missing ‘due to disputes at Kabul palace’

Two Taliban leaders have been reported missing following a major row at the presidential palace in Kabul following a dispute over the formation of the new government, sources have revealed.

An argument broke out between the Taliban’s co-founder Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar and Khalil ur-Rahman Haqqani, the minister of refugees in the current government and a prominent leader of the US designated terrorist organisation Haqqani network, sources told BBC Pashto.

According to a Taliban source, the two exchanged strong words while their supporters clashed with each other nearby.

The news of an internal rift comes as speculation has been mounting over the disappearance of the Islamist group’s two top figures, supreme leader Mullah Haibatullah Akhundzada and deputy prime minister Mr Baradar -from public view.

Baradar was also absent from the ministerial delegation that met with Qatari foreign minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani in Kabul on Sunday – an occasion he would usually have attended.

The Taliban has denied both the reports of rift and rumours as “baseless propaganda.”

Baradar, who was one of the co-founders of the group and headed the Taliban’s political office, was tipped to be the next prime minister by Taliban officials. But instead he was made first deputy to interim prime minister Mullah Hassan Akhund.

Baradar was also the first Taliban leader to communicate directly with then US president Donald Trump in 2020 and signed the Doha agreement in February 2020. He is considered a “moderate” within the leadership.

It is said that the arguments took place in Kabul as Baradar was unhappy about the make up of the new cabinet and there was disagreement over who should take credit for their victory in Afghanistan.

Baradar reportedly wanted to put emphasis on the diplomatic efforts, for which he was largely responsible, while the Haqqani group placed more emphasis on the military victory that paved the way for the takeover.

The Haqqani network is designated a foreign terrorist organisation (FTO) by the US, and its head, Sirajuddin Haqqani, has been given the position of acting interior minister despite the FBI placing a $10m bounty on his head.

The network is linked to some of the worst attacks in Afghanistan against foreign forces and the Afghan government.

Commercial Sex Worker Nabbed for Kissing a Teen Boy

A commercial sex worker has been arrested for kissing a 15-year-old boy at his home in Luveve suburb, Zimbabwe.

24-year-old Fiona Murewa is a tenant at the 15-year-old boy’s family home, and was nabbed by the teen’s grandmother after being spotted in a compromising position with the minor.

Upon being queried by his grandmother, the boy said he was allegedly seduced by Murewa and fell for the trap. He also claimed that Murewa who would walk about in a revealing skimpy skirt when his grandmother is not home, kept pushing him to have sex with her.

The teen’s grandmother reported the matter to police, leading to Murewa’s arrest. Bulawayo deputy police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Nomalanga Msebele confirmed the arrest, adding that Murewa was charged with indecent assault when she appeared before Western Commonage resident magistrate Shepherd Mnjanja.

She said;

“I can confirm that we arrested a 24-year-old female for indecent assault. We would like to urge members of the community never to trust a relative or a tenant to the extent of leaving him or her with a child.”

Murewa was remanded in custody by Magistrate Mnjanja till September 20.

Touching story: Man Reunites with His Mom 33 Years after Adoption

A mother has reunited with the son she gave up for adoption almost four decades later.

Melanie Pressley says she spent more than three decades wondering about the son she put up for adoption so he could grow up in a better home.

Pressley gave birth to Vossler in 1988 at the age of 18 in Canton, Ohio. Not being able to care for him financially, she found an adoption agency that would later connect her son to a  household with two parents.

Emotional story of how mother reunites with son she gave up for adoption 33 years ago thanks to DNA test

Melanie Pressley’s sister Lee Ann Dewey asked a nurse if she could hold Greg Vossler a day after he was born in 1988. She snapped a picture of him that day and it was all Pressley was left with for 33 years.

Since the parents who adopted her kid did a ‘closed adoption’ (closed adoption means you don’t know the new parents of the child ), all Pressley was left with was the single photograph of her newborn son her sister took.

Ever since, Pressley says she began a journey to find her son.

Her quest was finally answered when she took a DNA test from 23andMe, which suggested a genetic match to her firstborn son – Greg Vossler.

“You go through a mourning period and yet live the rest of your life mourning,” Pressley told Fox News, when recalling the years she spent without her son.

Vossler, now grown and aged 33, of Winchester, Virginia, later learned he was adopted and says he grew up wondering about his origins.

After he became a father himself, he opted to take a DNA test in 2018 to learn about his genetics since he couldn’t point to any medical history from his biological family.

“Everything checked out, but in the back of my mind, [23andMe] always suggests new DNA relatives,” Vossler said to Fox News.

He went on, “I was like, ‘You never know. Maybe one of these lesser connections will lead to something significant.’”

Pressley received a 23andMe gift card from her daughter Rachel as a “birthday-Mother’s Day combo,” Pressley said.

While she didn’t know it at the time, Pressley said her daughter purchased the DNA test hoping it would connect her to the son she longed to know more about. Instead of telling her directly, Pressley’s daughter cited the DNA test’s health report as the driving factor.

“I lost a mother to lung cancer – who had never smoked or drank a day in her life. So, she was selling that to me, saying, ‘Oh my gosh. Then you’ll see if you have any of those genes or if there are any flags,’” Pressley said.

Within days, the DNA test matched Pressley and Vossler as potential relatives, Pressley said.

Pressley went on to message him the second she realized it was an option on the website, she added.

Pressley said she first asked him his age and when Vossler’s response confirmed the June 17 birthday she had embedded in her memory, Pressley explained that she believed she is his birth mother.

“His adoptive mother had written me a letter a couple of months after he was born. And she had said that when he is old enough, she will tell him [that he was adopted],” Pressley said.

Pressley and Vossler later exchanged mails and phone numbers and started sharing text messages. The pair finally met in person June 2021 at Pressley’s home in Wadsworth, Ohio.

Following their emotional reunion, Vossler met Pressley’s husband, his half-brother and two half-sisters – while Pressley met Vossler’s wife and two sons.

“Life has a funny way of giving you what you need and not necessarily what you want. Sometimes those wants and needs do match up, but sometimes you don’t realize what you actually need until the future,” Vossler said.

“Melanie’s family coming into my life at this point, has been a blessing. It’s kind of re-ignited some passions and excitement.”

Pressley said that before she took her 23andMe test, she feared that her son might not want contact, but after seeing how it’s worked out, she thinks other separated families could benefit from reaching out if they choose to.

“After finding him, I felt like my heart was just whole again,” Pressley said. “Becoming older, you kind of become a little wiser, but there is no shame in giving somebody up for adoption. There are loving couples out there that cannot have children that would love to raise a child.”

She went on, “I’m telling you, if you could meet Greg, he was given a life beyond my belief. He was raised with manners. He was raised how you would dream. It’s just unbelievable.”

Vossler said he believes their story is much like a fairytale come true.

“It’s just a blessing beyond blessings. It really is,” he said. “If I could share one piece of advice, it would be: Don’t be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God.”

Public Opinion: What do you look out for before choosing your life partner? (Video)

Choosing a life partner is the most important decision you will ever make – far more crucial than choosing a job, house or group of friends. All the decisions you make will be together, you’ll have to sleep next to them every night and you’ll still have to love them when you’re both old and wrinkly.

Yahoo Yahoo: Hoteliers are helping Online Scammers – EFCC Says

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has warned hotel owners across the country to be wary of allowing internet fraudsters to congregate or hibernate around their facilities.

The Commission gave the warning on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 on the heels on an operation by the Ibadan Zonal Command of the agency that led to the arrest of 56 suspected internet fraudsters in Abeokuta, Ogun state.

The suspects include: Garfar Olamide Taiwo, Fadimaye Habeeb, Badmus Idris, Samuel Victor, Seun Fuad, Alli Isaac, Oyeleke Mubarak, Bolu Soetan, Koleosho Eniola, Saheed Abidemi, Olaewe Tosin, Ayedun Idowu, Oniyitan Ayomide, Akinlabi Precious, Gbadebo Sultan, Adeyemi Habeeb, Balogun Hassan, Sulaimon Ayub Damilare, Akinsola Usman,

Others are; Ajibola Femi Sodiya, Ridwan Alani, Olusesi Lanre, Eniatimo Oludare, Taiwo Opeyemi, Akindele Kabiru Johnson Hammed, Idowu Gabriel, Adekanmi Adejumo, Peter Babatunde, Okeowo Sunday, Abudu Habeeb, Sabair Rasaq, Ademuyiwa Basit, Toriola Opeyemi, Babayode Abiola, Agbaje Habeeb, Sorinola Oluwatobiloba, Abiodun Elegbede, Kayode Daniel ,Lawal Alabi, Oyewole Korede, Aberuagba Gafar, Adekunle Emmanuel, Okunade Azeez, and Ojediran Sodiq.

They were apprehended at their hideouts which happened to be popular hotels in the ancient city. The operation which was based on verified intelligence backed by weeks of surveillance was nearly frustrated by the hotel owners who employed various antics, including shutting down power supply, to enable some of the suspects to escape arrest.

A statement released by the agency says despite the lack of cooperation by the hotel owners, “the operatives demonstrated professionalism in ensuring that no one was hurt nor property damaged during the operations, contrary to the narrative in a section of the media.”

Nevertheless, the action of the hoteliers amounts to deliberate sabotage and obstruction of law enforcement officers, an offence punishable by Section 38 (2) (b) of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (Establishment) Act, 2004.

”The Commission has observed a worrying pattern of cold complicity by hospitality entrepreneurs who appear to be hands-in-gloves with suspected fraudsters by housing them over long spells and making internet facilities available to them.

While the argument is being made in certain quarters that hoteliers as business people have no means of determining who a fraudster is before allowing them to lodge in their facilities that position runs counter to the law.

Section 3 of the Advance Fee Fraud And Other Related Offences Act, 2006 provides for a prison term of between five and 15 years without option of fine for any person who permits his premises to be used for any offence under the Act.

EFCC will therefore not tolerate situations where hotel owners or managers not only permit fraudsters to use their facilities but also deliberately shield them from arrest by frustrating law enforcement on such premises.

If the hoteliers are not enablers of the alleged crimes, as some have demonstrated by offering information to the Commission, they are under obligation to cooperate with law enforcement officers carrying out their lawful duties. To act otherwise would tantamount to willingly becoming enablers to fraud.”the statement from the agency read in part

Meanwhile, ten exotic cars, dozens of mobile phones, laptops and several incriminating documents were recovered from the suspected fraudsters arrested in Abeokuta. They will be arraigned in court as soon as the investigation is concluded.

Terrorism: ISWAP leader, Abu Musab Al-Barnawi reportedly killed

Leader of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), Abu Musab Al-Barnawi has been reportedly killed.

Daily Trust reported that the vicious leader of the terrorist group was killed in the last week of August in Borno state.

Read the report below…

Al-Barnawi was the son of Boko Haram founder, Mohammed Yusuf who was also killed by security forces in 2009 when he launched a war against the Nigerian state. Al-Barnawi was announced as the leader of Islamic State (IS) militant group’s West African affiliate, Boko Haram in 2016.

Prior to this, late Abubakar Shekau was Boko Haram’s leader following the death of Al-Barnawi’s father. His dislodgement in 2016 heralded the rise of the relatively young Al-Barnawi as ISWAP leader and at the same time, the split of the terrorist group into two factions.

Al-Barnawi who was reportedly trained by ISIS for years ahead of his ascension to power, was also said to have been chosen as leader of the group to punish Shekau who reportedly “violated all known norms” and to also retain the confidence of Boko Haram fighters who were loyal to his father, Yusuf, amid threats from other factional groups.

Al-Barnawi sustained vicious attacks especially on military facilities and troops in the Lake Chad region, plotted on how to subdue Shekau, controlled large swathes of territory in Northern Borno, imposed taxes on the local population and earned income from fishing asides from the financial and material support he got from ISIS.

He also established many cells on the Lake Chad islands and surrounding villages from where his fighters launched attacks on Nigeria, Niger and Chad. The late ISWAP was also the person who confirmed Shekau’s death in an audio tape which went viral months ago.

He said in the 28-minute audio;

“He (Shekau) never thought this would happen to him even in his dream, but by the power of God, we destabilised him.

“He became confused and fled to the forest where he spent five days, wandering and stranded. We followed him again where we faced him with heavy fire. He ran away.

“Then our troops called on him to surrender so that he would be punished. We kept assuring him that we were not out to kill him but he was adamant and confused. As a cantankerous fellow, he believed it was better for him to die than to surrender.”

It was reported at that time that Shekau killed himself with a bomb “when he observed that the ISWAP fighters wanted to capture him alive.”

According to Daily Trust, there are two conflicting reports on how he was killed. While some said he was killed by Nigerian troops, others said he died during a rival war within the ISWAP camp.

The first report claimed Al-Barnawi was ambushed by troops who also killed four or five top ISWAP leaders and many other foot soldiers. It was alleged that he was killed around Bula Yobe, a community near the Borno/Yobe states border along Mobbar and Abadam axis that leads to the Lake Chad area.

Another source claimed the ambush took place at a place that could be accessed from Yale, Bama, Banki junction through the Kashimbri-Gulumba.

The other report alleged that a leadership tussle led to the death of Al-Barnawi. Sources told the publication that the battle of supremacy climaxed between August 14 and 26, 2021, and it claimed the lives of many commanders on both sides.

Another source said the other camp had mobilised some terrorists from Central Africa to overthrow Al-Barnawi and they succeeded.

Only Buhari can decide the fate of the Abba Kyari, Maigari Dingyadi, says

The Minister of Police Affairs, Muhammad Maigari Dingyadi says President Buhari will take the final decision on the suspended head of the Intelligence Response Team, Abba Kyari.

Dingyadi disclosed this while featuring as a guest on Channels Television program ‘Politics Today’ on Tuesday, September 14. According to him, the Federal government is trying to ensure that due diligence is done on the matter because it has international connotations.

“The issue of Abba Kyari has become a public domain and I think by now everybody has heard that the police in their very wisdom, in their usual way of becoming transparent and fair to all have set up a committee to investigate all these allegations”.

We have also reported that the committee has submitted the report to the Inspector General of Police (IGP). We have also submitted this report and recommendations to the Attorney-General of the Federation for a legal opinion, thereafter, we will take it to Mr President for final consideration.

So, you can see that even though this matter is a local matter here, it has some international connotations.  We have to do some due diligence to ensure that we do the right thing. We have to do some consultations with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Justice before a final decision will be taken.

But what is important is that Nigerians should know that the police management is up and doing and they have done what they are supposed to do. I hope people will wait and see what actions will be taken on this matter”he said

Kyari had been indicted by the FBI in a $1.1 million Internet scam allegedly carried out by a serial internet fraudster, Ramon Abbas, aka Hushpuppi, and four others. The commission had earlier suspended Kyari with effect from July 31 pending the outcome of the police investigation.

Hip POP Battle: Fat Joe and Ja Rule’s VERZUZ Battle Last Night (videos)

Fat Joe and Ja Rule VERZUZ battle took place last night at the theater at Madison Square Garden in New York.

The New York battle had several guests, an intermission, and lots of smack talking between the two rappers even though they had no real beef between them.

The evening kicked off in party mode and dance hits from the ‘80s including “Candy Girl” by New Edition, “You Called me and Told Me” by Jeff Redd, “Don’t be Cruel” by Bobby Brown, and “Remember the Time” by Michael Jackson set the tone for the crowd.

Technician the DJ changed the vibe by kicking off his set with jams from Biggie Smalls, JAY-Z, Styles P, Fabolous, Nas, Wu-Tang and more New York legends. He even played some 50 Cent tracks, a move suggested to be targeted at Ja Rule as the rapper is his arch-enemy.

Terror Squad’s Fat Joe took the stage first before Murder Inc.’s Ja Rule brought the energy in return.

While Joe taunted Ja for his current relevance by asking “Where you been the last ten years?”, Ja maintained that his short run in the spotlight still eclipsed Joe’s multi-decade track record of hit-making.

Both rappers took fans back to their breakout hits. Fat Joe dusted off “Flow Joe” from his 1993 debut, and Ja Rule reached back for his 2000 Grammy-nominated “It’s Murda” featuring DMX and JAY-Z. After he played “Can I Get a What What,” Joe called him out for all the features with Hov.

The first special guest was the first lady of Terror Squad: Remy Ma who performed her verse on “Ante Up (Remix)”. She rocked the stage in a yellow leopard print cropped bubble jacket and matching hot pants. While Ja Rule was rapping along, Remy took a shot at him right in his face.

As the battle went on, it became clear that the terror squad star’s strength was in his high profile collaborations and he also bragged about the artists he put on (DJ Khaled, Big Pun) and how rich they are.

When Fat Joe laid claim to songs like “Still Not a Player”, Ja pushed back by saying “That’s not your record!” Joe fired back by saying “I was the executive producer”, to which Ja interjected with “That don’t count!”.

When Joe teased Ja for doing more singing than rapping, Ja reveled in the acknowledgement that he was ahead of his time. Ja said “I’m the singing rapper! I started this shit! You getting bodied by a singing rapper!“

The terror squad star also made frequent references to Ja Rule’s disastrous Fyre Festival, mocking the “Baloney sandwiches” from infamous reports about the festival’s catering.

As Ja Rule’s DJ began to play “Put It On Me,” featured artists Lil’ Mo and Vita joined the stage for in-person features for the first time in almost two decades for a timeless Murder Inc. reunion.

When Fat Joe tried to cut off Ja Rule by saying “Yesterday’s hits are not today’s hits, the Queens rapper reached out to the crowd and said “When I say hits, you say classics!”

Tensions got high when Ja played “Rainy Dayz” by Mary J. Blige. Joe talked through the track, but as a counter, when Joey pulled out “Another Round,” Ja assumed his role as the first “singing rapper” and accompanied his opponent with the vocals.

Nelly was called in as Fat Joe’s reinforcement and they both performed “Get It Poppin’” from his 2005 album, All Or Nothing. Scott Storch who produced the song was in the Instagram comments reminding fans that he’s the GOAT.

As Princess of Hip Hop and R&B, Ashanti took the stage, fans went wild. Donned in all black leather, the Long Island doll stole the show as she tipped around the stage in thigh-high laced heels and jet black shades following her ex-boyfriend’s appearance. Fat Joe also pulled her in for a performance of their collaboration What’s Luv”.

Fat Joe later brought Remy Ma and Ashanti back out to the stage, saying he got them something special. He handed them both huge gift which he asked them to open. When the boxes were opened on stage, the two female superstars showed off two brand new Birkins.

Wrapping up the battle,  both artists brought their entourage to perform anthem “New York” from Ja Rule’s 2000 album R.U.L.E. Fat Joe was featured on the song and past Verzuz performer Jadakiss surprisingly joined them. With one arm around the other, Fat Joe and Ja Rule ended the battle by saying “Yesterday’s price is not today’s price!”

The showed pull in over 400k fans on Instagram. The comments section was quite lively with appearances from Diddy, Khaled, and many many more.

When 50 Cent’s beef with Ja Rule was brought up in the Instagram comment section, Murder Inc. founder Irv Gotti took shots by writing “All y’all talking that 50 shit. All good. He got beat up stabbed up. Shot up. And sued us. That’s all I’m gonna say. Your hero ain’t what you think he is. Period. And Facts.”

Fakeness: YOUTUBER, Jordan Cheyenne Accidentally Keeps Camera Rolling, EXPOSING Her ‘Fake crying’ lectures (Video)

A YouTube star has deleted her channel with half a million subscribers after accidentally sharing a video of herself coaching her crying son to pose for the camera.

Jordan Cheyenne, 30, shared a video titled “We are heartbroken” as she spoke about how her puppy had been diagnosed with pavovirus, a condition which can be fatal to unvaccinated dogs.

The California-based vlogger is seen in the clip pulling her son Christian towards her so they can pose for a video thumbnail.

“Come closer,” she tells him as they sit in a car. “Put your head right here.”

She pulls him in and rests his head on her shoulder, telling him: “Act like you’re crying.”

YouTuber Jordan Cheyenne deletes 500k plus channel after accidentally sharing a video where she was teaching her son how to cry on camera (Video)

“I am crying,” the visibly uncomfortable youngster tells her.

She holds one hand up at her face, looking visibly upset as the young boy stares into the camera.

She pulls a crying face and tells her son: “Go like this for the video.”

She continues to coach him on how to cry, telling him to hold his hand up to his face and make crying noises.

“Let them see your mouth,” she instructs him.

She tells him to look at her, then to look at the camera as she pulls a string of poses.

She then forgot to edit out the part of her coaching the boy and posted it on her YouTube page alongside the main video.

One person who saw the video on Jordan’s YouTube channel shared it on Twitter, writing: “this is so DISTURBING what is wrong with mom vloggers omfg”

They added: “everyone keeps asking the same questions, this is about the puppy they just bought having parvo, the son IS crying. real tears. shes forcing him to “fake cry” for views, it was accidentally uploaded, she forgot to edit this part, she removed the vid & posted an ‘apology’”

Since the video was posted she has been receiving backlash on her YouTube page and Twitter.

Following backlash, Jordan said that she would stop including her son in her YouTube videos and has now deleted her channel so she could focus on her son Christian’s “health and wellbeing”

She said in a statement: “Getting completely offline, canceling all videos and monetization, and prioritizing my child are all I care about.

“I’m disgusted and horrified at what I did and there is absolutely no excuse. It’s terrible on so many levels. I love my child more than anything and will regret this moment forever.”

Jordan also posted a follow-up video in an attempt to explain her behaviour. She titled it “I am immensely disappointed in myself”.

“In the ending of the video, I was so emotionally worn out… I had christian on my shoulder and I was like ‘come pose for the thumbnail with me’ after the video… I shouldn’t have done that.

“I wish I could show us at the vet crying and being so emotional with everything that happened. But then if I did that, you know what people will say? ‘Why are you filming your son crying? Why are you filming the emotional moment?'”

She added: “Me trying to get that thumbnail was just so wrong and such poor judgement of me, but that doesn’t condone bullying and harassment.”

Boris Johnson, UK Prime Minister, lost his mum, Charlotte Johnson Wahl, aged 79 years

She died “suddenly and peacefully” at a London hospital, the family said according to the Daily Telegraph.

She was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease at the age of 40 and later became president of the European Commission for Human Rights.

The Prime Minister once described her as the “supreme authority” in his family.

Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer was among the first politicians to offer his condolences.

“I’m very sorry to learn of the Prime Minister’s loss. My condolences to him and his family,” he tweeted.

Tory MP Angela Richardson said: “Sad news for the PM tonight as well as the rest of the Johnson family. Thoughts with them all.”

Born Charlotte Fawcett in Oxford in 1942, Mrs Johnson-Wahl was the daughter of the barrister Sir James Fawcett – who was president of the European Commission for Human Rights in the 1970s.

One of five children, she studied English at Oxford University. But she interrupted her education to travel to America with Stanley Johnson, whom she met at Oxford and married in 1963.

UK prime minister, Boris Johnson is mourning the loss of his mother, the artist Charlotte Johnson Wahl, who has died at the age of 79.

Teen boys plan to carry out school shooting foiled by their teacher

Two teenage boys’  who plotted to carry out a school shooting has been foiled by their teachers.

The teenagers identified as Phillip Byrd, 14, and Connor Pruett, 13, planned to carry out the shooting that would mirror the 1999 Columbine massacre at the Harns Marsh Middle School near Fort Myers in Florida.

Their plan was busted afterstudents told a teacher that one of their classmates had a gun in their bag.  Administration staff were alerted, and while the gun was not found after a search was conducted, a map showing marks where security cameras were placed was found.

Teenage boys

Lee County Police were then alerted and detectives discovered that Bryd and Pruett had been thoroughly studying the Columbine shooting, attempting to learn how to build a pipe bomb and researching how to buy guns on the black market. Police also searched their homes and found ammunition, guns, and several knives.

Byrd’s mother Carrie Tuller broke down in tears as she defended her son when he appeared in court on Sunday September 12. She said:

“He’s just a little boy. He didn’t think this was really serious. He didn’t think they were serious.”

Teenage boys

On Sunday morning, Philip Byrd and Connor Pruitt had their first court appearance. They were sentenced to 21 days in juvenile detention without speaking to the school or one another.

The sentencing came after they underwent a mental health evaluation before being taken into custody and charged with conspiracy to commit a mass shooting.

They were also ordered not to have no contact with school staff or students, and are required to stay off school grounds. Their next appearance in court is on September 27.

Teenage boys

In a news conference, Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno said:

“Detectives learned the students took an interest in the Columbine High School shooting.

“They were extensively studying to learn more about the incident and the shooters.

“Detectives also learned the students were attempting to learn how to construct pipe bombs and how to purchase firearms on the black market.

“I’m certain that my team of dedicated deputies and detectives acted promptly, investigated thoroughly and prevented a very violent and dangerous act from being carried out.

“This could have been the next Parkland massacre, but we stopped them in the planning stages.”

Marceno added that the teenagers were “well known” to police as officers had responded to calls to their homes nearly 80 times in total.”

North Korea Says It Tested Long-Range Cruise Missiles

North Korea says it successfully test-fired new long-range cruise missiles over the weekend, developed by the country’s engineers.

According to a Monday, September 13 report published by the country’s state-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), the country’s Academy of Defense Science successfully test-fired the missiles on September 11 and 12, and that the weapons had been in development for two years.

The weapons demonstrate “another effective deterrence means for more reliably guaranteeing the security of our state and strongly containing the military maneuvers of the hostile forces against the DPRK,” the agency said, using the acronym for North Korea’s official name, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

The North Korean launch announcement comes just as South Korea’s top nuclear envoy heads to Japan to discuss North Korea with US and Japanese officials on Monday and Tuesday. China’s Foreign Minister, Wang Yi, is scheduled to visit South Korea this week as well.

This missile test was the most significant from North Korea since US President Joe Biden took office in January.

According to KCNA, the new missiles traveled for 7,580 seconds along oval and figure-eight flight orbits in the air above the territorial land and waters of North Korea and hit targets 1,500 kilometers (930 miles) away.

The US and it’s Ally, South Korea are looking into the launch claims, officials in both countries told CNN.

“Cruise missiles are often detected after the tests are conducted for their low flight altitudes. North Korea had conducted two cruise missile tests already this year, but we did not disclose them as we do not disclose all cruise missile tests we detect,” a South Korean Defense Ministry official also said.

The US military’s Indo-Pacific Command said in a Monday statement;

“This activity highlights DPRK’s continuing focus on developing its military program and the threats that poses to its neighbors and the international community,” the Indo-Pacific Command said in a statement.

Unlike ballistic missiles, cruise missiles are propelled by jet engines and they are harder to detect.

Romania: Twin toddlers fall to their deaths as mum was live streaming on Facebook

Two-year-old twins have died after they fell from the 10th floor at a block of flats in Romania while their mother was live streaming on Facebook and a friend was looking after the siblings.

The death of the twins, a boy and a girl named Moise Cristian Petrice and Beatrice-Erica Petrice, took place on the night of August 11 in Ploiesti, a city in eastern Romania, around 35 miles from the capital Bucharest.

Police say the twins’ mother was streaming live on Facebook when she heard the sounds of ambulances, but she had no idea there was a problem at her house until a person knocked hard on the apartment door, at which moment the woman stopped the live stream.

However, speaking on Romanian chat show Access Direct on August 18, the mum Andreea Violeta Petrice and her friend, named only as Alina, had two very different versions of events, and they launched serious allegations at each other regarding what happened that night.

Andreea claimed she was sleeping in another room with her eldest son because he was extremely aggressive towards the twins. She said the twins were being watched by her friend Alina.

Andreea said she later went to check on the twins and discovered they were missing, noting that their usually tidy room was a complete mess with upturned furniture and nappies scattered all over the room.

The window was also open and Andreea accused her friend of being involved in the twins’ death, saying the mattress was off the bed and on the floor and that she does not think her two-year-old twins would have been able to remove it themselves.

Furthermore, according to Romanian news outlet Spy News, one of the twins, Beatrice, had a health problem that affected her right foot, making it impossible for her to walk properly, and it has been speculated that she would not have been able to climb on the table or on the bed on her own.

The mother also accused Alina of having taken illegal substances at the time of the tragic incident. Alina was taken to hospital where it was revealed that she had not taken any illegal drugs, according to Spy News.

The twins had celebrated their second birthday just one month before their untimely deaths.

Their heartbroken mum has reportedly been receiving psychiatric care after the tragic incident.

Telling her own side of the story, Alina claimed that Andreea was a careless mother.

Alina said that she took extremely good care of her friend’s kids, and that she even wanted to become a full-time nanny.

She said Andreea suggested she babysit the twins, adding that she looks after them so often her own children have become a secondary consideration.

The police investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Paul Pogba changes his mind on Man Utd after Cristiano Ronaldo’s return

Paul Pogba is reportedly leaning towards extending his stay at Manchester United following the return of Cristiano Ronaldo.

The France World Cup winner has entered the final year of his contract and talks over a new deal with United have not progressed.

United faces the prospect of losing the former Juventus midfielder on a free transfer next summer with Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain both keen to sign the playmaker

However, The Athletic reports that Pogba is now reconsidering the idea of leaving United due to events over the past week.

The report claims that Ronaldo’s return to Old Trafford on Saturday had a ‘profound effect’ on Pogba and there is now the belief that it is a ‘realistic possibility’ that the midfielder will sign a new deal with the club.

United have already made plans in the event of Pogba’s departure next summer and are targeting potential replacements with West Ham’s Declan Rice high on their shortlist.

Despite the speculation over Pogba’s future, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has remained adamant that the midfielder will continue to be committed to United.

‘If you’ve got a five-year contract or a one-year contract, when you sign for Man Utd you have to rise to the challenge of performing on a consistent level,’ Solskjaer said last month.

‘What I expect is that the attitude and the approach to every game is the right one. That we have the same focus, the right focus, the right professionalism and, with that, I have no worries about Paul whatsoever.’

About 640 UK Residents died from Covid-19 after being fully vaccinated – New report

About 640 people who were fully vaccinated died with Covid-19 in England in six months (January to July) accounting for just 1% of deaths, new figures have revealed

According to a Monday morning, September 13 publication by the Office for National Statistics (ONS), of the 51,281 people who died with the virus between January 2 and July 2, some 38,964 were unvaccinated, while a tiny proportion had received two doses.

During the particular time frame, which includes the early stages of the vaccine rollout, only 640 people with complete vaccinations people died from Covid-19.

That figure represents 1.25% of the Covid deaths in the first six months of 2021.

The report adds that just 256 of those that died were among people infected more than two weeks after their second jab as it takes two weeks for full protection to kick in after a second jab.

The figures tend to prove that vaccines dramatically reduce the risk of dying with the illness.

The ONS explained: ‘61.1% of breakthrough deaths occurred in males, compared to 52.2% and 48.5% for other COVID-19 deaths and for non-COVID-19 deaths respectively’.

‘The median age of breakthrough deaths was 84, compared to 82 for other COVID-19 deaths and for non-COVID-19 deaths.

‘13.1% of breakthrough deaths occurred in people who were identified as likely to be immunocompromised from hospital episodes or causes of death, compared to 5.4% for other COVID-19 deaths.’

However, the ONS added that some deaths are expected in vaccinated individuals as no vaccine is 100% effective.

A woman dressed as a nun was pictured dancing with skeletons beside a graveyard.

The woman was seen just outside the old Hull General Cemetery in England.

The person who filmed the woman said there were others outside the cemetery who looked confused as they watched the woman.

Very Sad Story: Ghanaian woman was imprisoned and eventually deported after a close relative lied to US Immigration against her

The heartbreaking biography of a woman who suffered multiple tragedies, after her ‘kind’ act towards a cousin backfired, was shared in the program booklet for her obituary.

The woman named Barbara was buried on Friday, September 10, after years of illness.

Barbara was married with two kids and living in the US. She also had a great job as an accountant in an investment company in the US.

However, her ordeal started after the birth of her second child.

Her parents back in Ghana decided to look for someone to assist her in the care of her kids and Barbara’s mother’s cousin, Margaret Ama Owusuwaa, who overheard the conversation “volunteered” to help.

According to Twitter user, Axel, who shared the story, Barbara’s mother, who was a serving Minister in Ghana and belonged to a political party in Ghana, was reluctant but later agreed for her cousin to go to the US on a 6 months visa to help her daughter.

On getting to the US, Ama lived with Barbara but few days before her visa was to expire, as her return to Ghana was drawing close, she allegedly ran to US immigration and “lied” that Barabara had connived with her mother to send her to the US as a slave to serve Barbara.

This led to court cases which ended in Barbara spending 5 years in jail and being deported to Ghana after 5 years and some months in prison.

While serving her prison term, she developed a number of ailments, including a brain tumour and she had to have three open head surgeries.

She eventually died in Ghana. Before her death, the ordeal also caused the death of her mother and her husband also died.

As for Ama, she was granted a residency permit in the US as she told US officials that her husband and kids in Ghana were in danger of persecution because Barbara’s mother was a Minister in Ghana. The US sent officials to go and get her husband and kids from Ghana and they were granted political asylum in the US.

Axel claims Ama didn’t also end well as she and her husband are both blind now and she suffered a stroke that has left her paralysed in the U.S.

Nigerians reacts as Deeper Life Church member shares photo of Youth Corps member wearing ‘khaki skirt’

A deeper Life Church member, Awoh Liberty, was dragged after he went about posting a photo of a female Corps member wearing a skirt instead of the trousers stipulated and issued by the NYSC.

The photo which he posted on various Christian Facebook groups on Sunday, reads: No to Lucifer’s Perception. No to Satan’d Deception. We the female say no no no to trouser.”

The post generated varying reactions on the groups with few in support while many argued that it’s not possible to engage in physical activities in orientation camps while wearing trousers.

One Emmanuel Emeng described the post as “Phariseeic in behaviour with a tint of fanatism”

“This uniform is an occupational clothing na, all things are lawful but not all are expedient na. Wear the trouser, you never commit sin. Dont be like the unbelievers who are not enlightened”

Toochukwu Ben Anefo, wrote: Dear poster I put it to you that you are using the time you would have used to preach salvation, the love of Christ, righteousness to advertise frivolities. Wearing trousers or skirt is not the way to eternity with God. Only Jesus. Preach him alone and allow the Holy spirit to do his work. Shalom.”

Robbers stole £8M in jewellery from Paris Bulgari store

A group of gunmen attacked a Paris Bulgari store on Tuesday September 7, and made way with £8million in jewellery.

Three individuals, wearing sharp suits and armed with guns, robbed the recently revamped boutique on the Place Vendôme in central Paris, where the Ritz hotel is located, shortly before midday on Tuesday, police said.

The three fled in a grey BMW while four accomplices took flight on scooters. Police fired shots at the car near the Les Halles shopping mall, forcing the trio to try to flee on foot.

“Quick reaction by Paris police after a jewellery store robbery at Place Vendôme. Two suspects in custody,” the Paris police said on Twitter. A manhunt was under way for the remaining suspects.

A source close to the inquiry said the thieves grabbed jewels worth €10m from Bulgari, the famed Italian jeweller that is part of the French luxury conglomerate LVMH.

Jewellery stores in Paris have suffered a spate of armed robberies in recent months.

On 27 July, a man stole €2m-worth of jewels from a Chaumet boutique before escaping on an electric scooter. He was arrested the next day with an accomplice, and most of the items were recovered.

Three days later two men armed with an electric shock gun and teargas targeted a Dinh Van store, seizing about €400,000-worth of loot.

The Bulgari store recently underwent extensive renovations and was expanded to open on to the Place Vendôme, as well as being outfitted with marble columns evoking the brand’s origins in Rome.

The historic Place Vendôme is regarded as the heart of French luxury. Labels including Chanel, Boucheron and Van Cleef & Arpels have invested considerably in prestigious stores lining the square.

California Govt. vote to Return a $72M Resort to the Descendants of a Rich Black man

California lawmakers have unanimously voted to return a resort worth $72 million on Los Angeles’s Manhattan Beach on Thursday to descendants of a wealthy black man whose land was taken over by white racist neighbors and the KKK.

Resort owners, Willa and Charles Bruce purchased ‘Bruce’s Beach’ in 1912 and built the first West Coast resort for black people during an era of segregation. The resort was known as a place where blacks can come and relax without having to face any racism or segregation.

Racist group, the Ku Klux Klan (KKK) tried to burn it down, and white neighbors harassed the couple and their customers.

’10 minutes only’ parking signs were posted and beachgoers often returned to find the air had been let out of their tires, according to a legislative analysis.

On Thursday, September 10, the lawmakers voted to return the land to Bruce’s descendants, and all that is left is for Gov. Gavin Newsom to sign the kaw to transfer the property to the couple’s descendants.

California lawmakers vote to return resort worth $72M to descendants of a rich black man who owned the property a century ago till they were forced out by white neighbors and the KKK

The bill will ‘finally do the right thing, to undo a wrong committed by the city of Manhattan Beach and aided by the state and the county,” Democratic Sen. Steven Bradford said.

It ‘represents economic and historic justice and is a model of what reparations can truly look like.’

The Bruces and their son, Harvey, came from New Mexico during the early 1900s and were among the first black people to settle in what would become the city of Manhattan Beach.

The Bruces built a lodge, café, dance hall and dressing tents with bathing suits for rent in the resort.

A descendant of the family described the 1920s decision as a ‘scar’ on his family.

‘What we want is restoration of our land to us, and restitution for the loss of revenues,’ said Duane Yellow Feather Shepard, 69, a relative of the Bruces who lives in Los Angeles and is a chief of the Pocasset Wampanoag Tribe of the Pokanoket Nation.

‘It’s been a scar on the family, financially and emotionally.’

Both descendants told the paper that the issue was about more than just their family.

‘We’ve been stripped of any type of legacy, and we’re not the only family that this has happened to,’ said Shepard. ‘It’s happened all over the United States.’

Great-great-grandmother Edith Murway-Traina made an impression when she lifted 68kg power life at the age of 98 years and 94 days in 2019, but the record is now officially recognised as she turns 100.

Her impressive win will be marked in the 2022 Guinness Book of World Record.

The former dance instructor and performer living in Florida took up weightlifting nine years ago when forced to go to the gym by a friend.

Edith told the New York Post: “She didn’t want to go by herself. She dragged me kicking and screaming all the way, so that’s more or less how I got there.

“I saw all these other ladies lifting weights, and it looked interesting.”

She also said that she was drawn to the sport due to how much she enjoys being the centre of attention, a trait that developed during her previous careers.

The instant feedback and receiving applause when you succeed on a huge lift, reminded Edith of her performing days.

Edith took to powerlifting extremely quickly and soon started competing in senior events, often coming out on top.

However, doctors made her step back from the sport at the start of the pandemic. She is now back preparing for a competition in November under the supervision of coach Bill Beekley.

“Now I am starting from scratch and seeing what I can accomplish,” said Edith.

She will be competing for the first time since hitting 100 and has said that trashing the “sweet little old lady stereotype” motivates her further.

Deadly Nipah Virus may be the next world pandemic – Health Org warns

Health organizations are trying to contain an outbreak of the Nipah virus that has a much higher death rate than Covid and causes vomiting, seizures and brain swelling.

A young Indian boy was killed by the illness and there are fears it could cause the next worldwide pandemic, heightened by the fact that Nipah has a very high rate of mutation.

According to the World Heath Organisation, Nipah’s mortality rate ranges between 40 and 75% compared to Covid’s 1%.

“The virus has been shown to spread from person-to-person in these outbreaks, raising concerns about the potential for NiV to cause a global pandemic,” the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said.

Officials in India’s Kerala state are concerned after the 12-year-old died at the weekend, prompting efforts to trace his contacts with new infections already confirmed.

Fears Nipah virus without cure will become the world

According to reports, the boy had visited two other hospitals before he died, meaning he potentially came close to hundreds of people.

The boy’s immediate contacts have been tested but are all negative.

State health minister Veena George said: “That these eight immediate contacts tested negative is a great relief.”

Nipah has been listed by the WHO as a dangerous virus that needs researching further

The fruit bat-borne disease, which first jumped from pigs to farmers in Malaysia in 1999, has an incubation period of up to 45 days, meaning a person could spread it for more than a month before falling sick.

There is no cure or vaccine for Nipah yet. Patients are only given supportive medical care.

Dr Melanie Saville, head of vaccine research and development at the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations, earlier told The Sun: “Nipah is one of the viruses that could absolutely be the cause of a new pandemic. Several things about Nipah are very concerning.

“Most crucially, we shouldn’t just be looking at Nipah.

“We know that a future pandemic is inevitable, and there are many other emerging infectious diseases that are recognised as having pandemic potential.”

Police arrests District Attorney, Jackie Johnson, for covering up the murder of Ahmaud Arbery

A former Georgia District Attorney has been arrested on charges linked to her alleged mishandling of the case of Ahmaud Arbery, a Black man who was pursued and gunned down as he jogged through a Brunswick neighborhood last year.

Jackie Johnson, who was indicted by a grand jury last week on one felony count of violating her oath of office and one misdemeanor count of interfering with a police investigation, is accused of using her position to delay the arrests of three white men who killed Arbery in February of 2020.

The ex-Glynn County district attorney turned herself in to the Glynn County Sheriff’s office Wednesday morning, September 8, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

She was released later on $10,000 bond.

Johnson was the county’s top prosecutor when Arbery was fatally shot last year, and one of the armed men who pursued him had worked for her as an investigator.

Ahmaud Arbery

Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr, a Republican, sought the indictment of Johnsons after requesting an investigation of possible misconduct by local prosecutors who failed to bring charges in the killing.

Father and son Greg and Travis McMichael armed themselves with guns and gave chase in a pickup truck on Feb. 23, 2020, after they spotted Arbery running in their neighborhood just outside the port city of Brunswick (read here).

A neighbor, William “Roddie” Bryan, joined the chase and took cellphone video of Travis McMichael fatally shooting Arbery at close range with a shotgun as Arbery fought back with his fists.

The McMichaels told police they thought Arbery was a burglar and that Travis McMichael shot him in self-defense.

No arrests were made in the shooting until more than two months later, after the cellphone video leaked online, sparking a national outcry, and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation took over the case.

The McMichaels and Bryan are now jailed as they await trial on murder charges.

Johnson has insisted she did nothing wrong, saying she immediately recused her office from handling the case because Greg McMichael had been an employee.

Still, Arbery’s parents and their attorneys have long accused the ex-district attorney of trying to help the young man’s killers avoid prosecution.

After Johnson’s indictment was announced last week, Ahmaud Arbery’s mother, Wanda Cooper Jones, said: “Yesterday was a very huge win. I’m speechless. Unfortunately, Ahmaud is not here with us today. But losing Ahmaud, it will change some things here in the state of Georgia.”

Johnson would face one to five years in prison if convicted of violating her oath of office. The obstruction charge is a misdemeanor, punishable by up to a year in jail.

The indictment says Johnson violated her oath by “showing favor and affection” to Greg McMichael and “failing to treat Ahmaud Arbery and his family fairly and with dignity.” It also says she obstructed police by “directing that Travis McMichael should not be placed under arrest.”

“She should spend time in prison,” said Lee Merritt, an attorney for Arbery’s mother. “Her actions are not just acts of negligence, but she actively worked to cover up the murder.”

India: A Nigerian lady sentenced to 10 years in jail for smuggling drugs there

A court on Thursday, September 9, sentenced a Nigerian woman, Joy Chika Uzoma, to 10-year rigorous imprisonment for smuggling heroin in Mohali, Punjab, India.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Harjit Kaur Kaleke also imposed a fine of Rs1 lakh on the convict. In case of default of payment, the convict will have to further undergo one-year imprisonment.

The Nigerian national was arrested with by the Anti-drug Special Task Force (STF) of Punjab in May, 2018. One-kg heroin worth over N55m were recovered from her.

The STF team, under the supervision of Inspector Ram Darshan and ASI Avtar Singh, was present in Phase IV, Mohali. It got a tip-off that a woman was entering Mohali with heroin.

The team immediately laid a trap near the Nature Park in Phase IX  and stopped the Nigerian woman. On checking, the police recovered one-kg heroin from her possession.

The AIG said that Uzoma came to India in 2015 on a business visa and she started a business of readymade garments in Tripura, Delhi and Noida.

Uzoma also started supplying drugs in Chandigarh and Mohali areas after coming in contact with Nigerian drug peddlers.

An STF official who arrested Uzoma said that the woman used to bring heroin in a fruit basket and she travelled mostly in public transport.

“During the interrogation Uzoma told us that she used to place the heroin at the bottom of the basket and then cover it with a silver foil. Then she would place fruits over it to make it look like a fruit basket,” the official said.

Man kept his mother’s corpse in the basement so that he could be receiving her benefits, about $60,000

An Austrian man had to hide his mother’s corpse in his basement for a year so he could keep pocketing her money.

The son wrapped the woman’s dead body with bandages and ice packs and kept it hidden in his basement for a year so he could continue collecting her benefits, police said Thursday, September 9.

The 89-year-old mom died in June 2020 in Tyrol province, but authorities only learned about her death this month when a mail carrier who had been handing her checks to her son asked to see the woman, according to police. The name of mother and son have not yet been released.

When the son refused, the mail carrier reported the case to authorities, who made the gruesome discovery last weekend.

The woman reportedly suffered from dementia and appeared to have died from natural causes, according to the BBC. Even though the son hid her corpse the BBC say there was no evidence of foul play.

Her 66-year-old son admitted to keeping the corpse in his basement so he could receive her pension and nursing allowance, police said in a statement. He had also lied to his brother, saying their mom was at a hospital and that it was not worth visiting her, the BBC reported.

The suspect reportedly told authorities he had no other income and would not be able to afford her funeral or keep their house.

Police believe he took in about 50,000 euros, or nearly $60,000, throughout the year

France confers citizenship on 12,000 foreigners for their service during Covid pandemic

France has granted citizenship to more than 12,000 foreign-born health workers to thank them for their services during the Covid crisis.

These essential workers include security guards, checkout assistants and other frontline workers.

Marlene Schiappa, junior interior minister in charge of citizenship, said over 16,000 people had applied for a French passport over the past year under a special scheme.

She noted that the scheme sped up the application procces for workers in essential services, allowing them to apply for citizenship after just two years in France, instead of the usual five.

Among the other categories of employees eligible for the scheme are garbage collectors, home-care providers and nannies.

‘These frontline workers were there for the nation. It is normal that the nation makes a gesture in their favour,’ Schiappa said in a statement.

President Joe Biden mandates companies with over 100 staff to vaccinate their staff or face sanctions

US President, Joe Biden has announced a sweeping plan that could force millions of unvaccinated Americans to get the COVID-19 shot.
Biden announced Thursday night, September 9, that all companies with more than 100 employees will be forced to either require their employees get vaccinated against COVID-19 or mandate weekly testing for the virus.

Biden also announced that the remaining 17 million healthcare workers employed in facilities that receive federal Medicare or Medicaid also will have to be fully vaccinated. Together, these two groups of people represent up to 100 million Americans.

According to Biden, the US has been patient with people in the fight against Covid-19 but his administration will now use tools at its disposal to force vaccinations.

“We’ve been patient, but our patience is wearing thin,” Biden said of the roughly 80 million Americans who have yet to get the shot.

“While America is in much better shape than it was seven months ago when I took office, I need to tell you a second fact: We’re in a tough stretch and it could last for awhile.”

But Biden didn’t mandate the vaccine for illegal immigrants attempting to cross America’s border, even though about 30% of immigrants held at federal detention facilities are refusing to be vaccinated .

Biden’s new rules for employers with over 100 employees will be issued through the Labor Department, the president said. The president also threatened hefty fines for employers that fail to comply with the mandate.

“We have the tools to combat the virus if we come together to use those tools,” Biden said.

IPOB’s sit-at-home order was a ‘mere social media stunt’ – Uzodinma says

Governor Hope Uzodinma has said that the sit-at-home order issued by proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) against the visit of President Muhammadu Buhari to Imo state, was only obeyed on social media platforms.

Uzodinma in an interview on Channels Television, said that Imo residents were excited about Buhari’s visit and came all out to welcome him.

He also stated that he and other Igbo leaders will be supporting the president, his administration and his policies, because he has shown sufficient interest in terms of pragmatic approach in listening and being sensitive to the yearnings of Imolites and Igbo people in general.

Uzodinma said;

“What is important to me is that Mr President visited and you could see the excitement of the entire Igbo nation. The leadership received Mr President, commended Mr President, pledged to support Mr President’s government and policies.

“When we say this, we mean it. We meant every inch of the word — that we are supporting the president; we are supporting his administration, and we are supporting his policies, because Mr President has shown sufficient interest in terms of pragmatic approach in listening and being sensitive to the yearnings of Imolites and Igbo people in general.

“We meant it. Our people came. You could see that with the sit-at-home order, which is only a social media sit-at-home order. The sit-at-home order is not in Imo state, because we never issued any sit-at-home order.

“Imo people are excited. lmo people are happy that the president of the federal republic of Nigeria, one united Nigeria with common destiny, visited Imo, commissioned projects, spoke to his people and we are happy.

“And he left happy. There was no security breach, no incident of disloyalty. There was no violence.”

Jerome Boateng is fined £1.5M physically assaulting ex. fiancée

Former Manchester City and Bayern Munich defender,  footballer Jerome Boateng has been fined £1.5 million by a court in Munich after being found guilty of biting and punching his ex-girlfriend.

The German  football star, 33, was convicted of assaulting his ex-fiancée Sherin Senler during a Caribbean holiday three years ago but avoided a potential five-year jail term.

Ms Senler, who is the mother of his twin daughters, told the court on Thursday September 9, that Boateng bit her and spat blood in her face, and punched her in the kidney so hard she could not breathe.

Footballer Jerome Boateng is fined ?1.5m after being convicted of biting and punching the mother of his twin daughters

Boateng had earlier denied all the allegations made against him as he testified for almost two hours on Thursday. The footballer claimed that he was the one who was attacked, telling the court that his Ms. Senler had become aggressive and insulting towards him, and hit him – injuring his lip.

Boateng was convicted of causing dangerous bodily harm to Senler and insulting her in an incident in 2018 while they were on holiday in the Turks and Caicos Islands in the Caribbean.

He was then handed the £1.5 million fine, the highest possible financial damages that could be imposed by the Munich District Court.

After judge Kai Dingerdissen gave his verdict, Boateng left the courtroom, surrounded by bodyguards, and drove off in a black SUV.

Prosecutor Stefanie Eckert had called for a suspended 18-month prison sentence and a fine of £1.2 million (1.5 million euros) for what she described as a ‘toxic relationship’.

Last year German newspaper Bild reported that Boateng, who now plays in France for Lyon, is alleged have ‘thrown a small glass candle holder’ at Senler while away on holiday.

His representatives have consistently maintained that the accusations are based on unproven claims from a third party.

According to German newspaper Bild, Boateng told the court that when Ms Senler became aggressive towards him, he pushed her away from him, causing her to fall.

He maintained that he did not throw a lantern at her, but rather a pillow against the table. This caused the lantern to fall, he said.

The footballer said the holiday was ‘very nice’ and ‘peaceful’, and that everyone had been in a ‘good mood’ until an argument broke out over a card game.

His girlfriend and one of her friends had accused him of cheating while playing cards, Boateng told the court, with the argument escalating to the point where they were arguing about their lives.

Boateng said he wanted to move from his then-club FC Bayern Munich to Paris that summer. The argument was also about loyalty in their relationship, he said.

The following day, he said the pair returned to getting along again, saying Ms Senler seemed to be in a good mood, and that the broken lantern had been cleaned up by a member of staff. ‘I then said – in English: Sorry for the mess,’ he told the court.

But Ms Senler’ gave a different testimony. ‘He grabbed my eye with his thumb,’ she said. ‘He tore my hair, then bit me in the head. (…) He opened his lip, pulled my head back and spat blood on my face. ‘

She said she then fell to her knees, at which point he punched her in the kidneys, she claimed – so hard that she couldn’t breathe.

‘Such assaults were the order of the day. We had a turbulent, toxic relationship,’ she told the court, adding that she reported him, ‘because otherwise it would never have stopped.’

Senler began dating Boateng in 2007 but the pair endured a rocky relationship together. The pair’s broke up in 2011 – the same year twins Soley and Lamia were born and had to only communicated through their lawyers.

Boateng and Senler later rekindled their love in 2013 and got engaged the following year but went their seperate ways again following the alleged assault in 2018.

Nnamdi Anene posted photos of the new mother and the triplets on Sunday, September 5 and wrote:

”We waited this long for God to do this. As a church, this was one of those kind of prayer points we all were waiting expectantly to see answered. and so, it was a burden for all of us. And when He eventually answered this prayer, He showed up in a grand style!

After 15 years of waiting on the Lord. 15 years of faith in Christ, Hope on His Word, Love for others, and of course the tears too. You see this couple? They have always been a model couple. Faithfully serving the Lord, regardless of any challenge.

Now, you know why everyone was genuinely concerned and bothered about this. And then…The Lord God thundered from Heaven! Now, see what God has done for this beautiful couple! He paid them back 3x.

And you know what, it has only begun! He does not only open doors, He breaks them down too! Behold the Nzejiofor Triplets! This is our testimony. This is why we are rejoicing! For every waiting couple, may you experience this same joy in Jesus Name. Amen.

Starvation: Afghan Dad trying to sell his daughter for $580 to keep his other siblings alive

An Afghan dad has revealed he is prepared to sell his four-year-old daughter for £420 to feed the rest of his family.

Mir Nazir, a former police officer, is one of millions in the country facing a hellish life under the Taliban.

As their country’s currency collapses and prices soar, many have resorted to selling everything they own in a bid to stay alive.

Nazir, 38, is now faced with the heartbreaking decision to sell his daughter to a childless shopkeeper in order to feed the rest of his family.

He has been bargaining with a shop owner to sell the child in the Jada-e Maiwan market in Kabul, Nazir to The Times of London.

He said: “I would prefer to die than be reduced to selling my daughter.

“But my own death wouldn’t save anyone in my family. Who would feed my other children? This isn’t about choice. It’s about desperation.”

Nazir said he cannot even afford rent let alone food after losing his job as a police officer just days before the Taliban took over, sending Afghanistan’s economy spiraling into near-record low exchange rates.

He continued: “I received an offer from a shop owner, a man I knew who had no children.”

“He offered 20,000 afghanis for my daughter Safia to live with him and start working in his shop.

20,000 afghanis are equivalent to just $230 in the US.

“But I can’t sell my daughter for that low a price, so I asked for 50,000,” he said, which would be around $580 or £420.

“We are still discussing. She may have a better future working in a shop than staying with me, and the price may save my family.”

He added that the buyer promised he could “buy her back if he later got enough money.

“We are relieved that the war and fighting have ended … but we are all facing a new enemy: poverty,” Nazir told the UK paper.

Nazir fled to Kabul with his wife and five children before the Taliban seized the capital and now works as a porter in the market but his wages are not enough to cover his rent.

He continued: “To work, without ever having enough to pay the bills, and come home to see your wife and children getting hungrier as you slide daily into worse debt without any hope that things will get better is a form of pain and worry as bad as the war.”

Nazir also told Times reporter Anthony Loyd: “Don’t think I am any different to you.

“Don’t think I didn’t love the baby child I brought into the world and have loved her ever since. Don’t think I am not distraught at the thought of selling my daughter. I just can’t see what else I can do.”

At the end of August, the United Nations’ World Food Programme warned that a third of all Afghans are going hungry and 2 million children are malnourished.

With 18.5 million people in the country relying on aid, the WFP said it was struggling to get supplies into the country.

“Over half of the country’s population lives below the poverty line, and food insecurity is on the rise, largely due to conflict and insecurity cutting off whole communities from livelihood opportunities,” WFP warned.

The new images of Kim appeared to show the North Korean leader has lost weight.

During the military parade, planes flew above Pyongyang firing flares, and paratroopers dropped from aircraft in the night sky, Rodong Sinmun said.

While on the street, marching bands led a parade, which included laborers, research units and an “emergency disease prevention unit,” it added.

There were troops and tractors, but no missiles, a surprise as new or updated versions of the country’s missiles are often shown at the military parades.

Ex. Afghan President, Ashraf Ghani apologizes for Abandoning the country

Former Afghan President Ashraf Ghani has apologised to the people of Afghanistan after fleeing to take refuge in the United Arab Emirates as the Taliban advanced last month.

Ghani abruptly left Afghanistan as Taliban militants advanced on the capital on 15 August. Reports say he fled to UAE wwith about $169m (£123m) but he has denied those allegations.

“Leaving Kabul was the most difficult decision of my life,” Ghani said on his social media handle.

“I’m sorry I could not make it end differently”.

He said he had not intended to abandon his people but “it was the only way”.

Ghani said he had no choice but to leave the country in order to avoid widespread violence.

“I left at the urging of the palace security, who advised me that to stay risked setting off the same street-to-street fighting the city had suffered during the civil war of the 1990s,” he wrote, adding that he did so to “save Kabul and her six million citizens”.

He said he had devoted 20 years to helping Afghanistan become a “democratic, prosperous and sovereign state”.

He added that he had “deep and profound regret that my own chapter ended in similar tragedy to my predecessors”.

In a live Facebook address on 18 August, Mr Ghani said he was “forced” to leave Afghanistan by his security team because “there was a real chance that I would be captured and killed”.

He said that when the Taliban entered the presidential palace in Kabul, “they started looking for me from room to room”.

Denying claims that he had taken a large amount of money with him when he left the country, Ghani said he was “not even allowed to take his sandals off and put hist shoes on”.

3 Ebonyi teen girls narrate how they were trafficked to Ghana and forced into prostitution

Three teenagers from Ebonyi State have narrated how they were abducted, trafficked to Ghana and forced into prostititution.

The victims, Ugochi Ojukwu, 17, Ogechi Ejiuwa, 17, Mesoma John,15, and one Ejiwa Ogbonnaya, 18, were allegedly abducted from their Akaeze community, Ivo Local Government Area of the state and trafficked to Ghana for prostitution by two suspects, Ivi Chukwu Chinecherem, 20, and Ogbonna Justice,19, both of Ivo.

Police operatives attached to Anti-Human Trafficking of the Ebonyi State Police Command arrested the two suspects after they allegedly tried to abduct another teenager, Faith Ogbonnaya.

The suspects, who were paraded by the state Commissioner of Police, Aliyu Garba, on Wednesday September 8, admitted to the crime and confessed that they trafficked the minors to Ghana without the consent of the parents.

The efforts of the operatives yielded success in rescuing of the victims while effort is on top gear to rescue the remaining girl, Ejiwa Ogbonnaya.

It was gathered that the suspects handed them over to a woman in Ghana who allegedly took them to a shrine where they were administered oath not to run away from the country or else they will die.

After the oath, the woman gave them four men to sleep with them. The men had sex with them for three weeks while parents of the victims were looking for them and reported them missing from their community at Ivo police division.

Narrating their ordeal, one of the victims, Ogechi, said “There is one boy in our place and he told me that he has a job. I asked him the type of work and he told me that he is serving somebody; that he was working at a beer parlour and I can sell drinks there.

“I said I am not interested and I can’t go with him for the business. I travelled, and at our place, he came back. He still met me and told me the same thing. I told him that I will tell my mum before I will follow him and go for the business.

“He told me that I should not let my parents know that if I told them, they would not allow me to go. He told me that if I told my parents he would destroy me. It was at this point that I agreed to follow him and go.

“We left for Lagos that day from where he told us that we are going to Ghana. He told me and some other girls that were going with us that if we get to Ghana, we will start the business immediately and I said okay.

“When we got to Ghana, a woman there started telling us that we are going to sleep with some men. I told her no, that I can’t do such a thing. She said that I can’t go back to where she took me and that she has already paid my bride price and everything about me, so there was no more going back. She took us to a shrine and we took an oath and she threatened that we would die if we broke the oath.

“At that time, she gave us four men to sleep with us. When the four men started sleeping with us, I developed a stomach problem. While I was in Ghana, my mother started looking for me and reported to the police. Police later arrested the boy. The woman put us inside a bus and took us to Lagos where she abandoned us and ran away. We spent three weeks in Ghana.”

Another victim, Mmesoma said four men slept with her for the three weeks they stayed in Ghana before their rescue.

In an interview with the suspects, they claimed that they took the girls to Ghana to help them and not for trafficking.

“I have been in Ghana for over two years. During the coronavirus pandemic, I came back to my place in Ivo, Ebonyi State. Two months ago, my friend came for a burial and told me that he would be visiting me in the village and I said okay,” Chukwu Chinecherem said.

“He arrived and I took him to a bar where we had a discussion. During our discussion, I asked him what he was into and he told me that he was still in Ghana.

“He started telling me that he has a place where he will be selling beer and that he needed salesgirls to sell for him while he will be doing buying and supply. One of my friends told me that he has someone, a girl that is looking for a place to sell things. I didn’t take the girls to Ghana. They agreed that they were going and the guy sent the money for their transportation.”

On his part, Justice Ogbonna said, “It was the end of August when I met Chinecherem who had lived in Ghana for over two years and returned home. He told me that one of his friends that was in Ghana asked him to look for sales girls and there was one of my cousins, Ejighiuwa Ogbonna, who told me to look for a place for her to serve as a salesgirl. I told Chinecherem my friend about her. I didn’t give the girls to them in the form of trafficking, I just did it to help them.”

Taliban pressured to let 200 Americans working in Afghanistan leave the country

The Taliban has agreed to let 200 US citizens and third-country nationals, left behind in Afghanistan after the 31 August deadline, depart on chartered flights, a US official confirmed on Thursday.

US Special Representative Zalmay Khalilzad played a key role in pressing the Taliban to allow the departures, Reuters reported.

The departures were expected on Thursday September 9, and an exact breakdown of how many US citizens and people from other nations will be on the flight has not been shared.

The official could not say whether these Americans and third-country nationals were among people who have been stranded for days in Mazar-i-Sharif 260 miles north of Kabul on charter flights that were barred from taking off.

Planes chartered to carry people out of Afghanistan have been stuck at Mazar-i-Sharif International Airport, with some organizers saying the State Department was not doing enough to facilitate their departure.

The criticism came after an email leak suggested that the agency prevented several private flights from leaving Afghanistan with U.S. citizens and Afghan allies on board.

On Tuesday, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken had denied reports that the Taliban had blocked Americans attempting to fly out of a northern Afghan city. But he said that the militants had not allowed charter flights to depart because some people lacked valid travel documents.

Reports had said that 1000 people, including US citizens had been stuck at Mazar-i-Sharif airport for days awaiting clearance for their charter flights to leave.

Mr Blinken had said that Washington had identified a “relatively” small number of Americans seeking to depart from Mazar-i-Sharif. He added: “It’s my understanding is that the Taliban has not denied exit to anyone holding a valid document, but they have said those without valid documents, at this point, can’t leave.”

The US secretary of state also said: “Because all of these people are grouped together, that’s meant that flights have not been allowed to go.”
