Covid19: You are considered unvaccinated if you are vaccinated in Africa, India and UAE – UK Govt. says

The United Kingdom has said people who received their Covid-19 vaccine in Africa, India, and certain other places will be considered as “unvaccinated” when they travel and will be treated as such.

The UK listed certain countries whose vaccination exercise is recognized and stated that those who didn’t get their vaccines from the listed countries will be treated as unvaccinated.

Aviation Analyst, Alex Macheras made this known on Twitter.

He posted: ‘UK government confirm tonight that if a person has been vaccinated in Africa, or South America, or countries including UAE, India, Turkey, Jordan, Thailand, Russia, you are considered “unvaccinated” and must follow “unvaccinated” rules = 10 day home quarantine & tests.’

The countries whose vaccines are not recognized are reportedly not happy with the UK and Ministers from some of the countries have made their grievance known.

They have questioned why the UK will only acknowledge those vaccinated in the listed countries, and pointed out that some countries left out of the list administered the exact same vaccines as the vaccines being administered in the UK.

One country’s minister told Macheras: “In our first meeting with Liz Truss, UK new Foreign Secretary, we expect her to explain why our Pfizer jabs are supposedly different to Pfizer jabs in UK or Europe.”

Taliban replaces Women’s Ministry with ‘Morality Police’

The Taliban appear to have shut down the women’s affairs ministry and replaced it with the ‘Morality police’ a department that once enforced strict religious doctrines in the country before the US invasion in 2001.

Footage on social media posted on Friday, September 17, shows the sign at the ministry was removed, and a sign for the ministry of ‘virtue and vice’ also known as ‘morality’ put in its place.

Footage also shows women employees outside the offices, urging the Taliban to let them return to work.

Afghanistan: Taliban shut down women

In the last 20 years Afghan women have  gained a number of basic rights, but that progress is being halted by the Taliban’s new all-male interim government.

Human rights groups have criticised the virtue and vice ministry for silencing dissent, violently enforcing restrictions on citizens especially women and girls but the Taliban say the institution is important.

“The main purpose is to serve Islam. Therefore, it is compulsory to have [a] Ministry of Vice and Virtue,” a Taliban member, Mohammad Yousuf, told the New York Post.

Man U Transfer: Solskjaer To Sell Up 7 First Team Players In January, See List

Manchester United boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reportedly ready to sell up to seven Red Devils players in January,

The Sun UK reports that the seven players are Anthony Martial, Donny van de Beek, Jesse Lingard, Phil Jones, Eric Bailly, Alex Telles and Diogo Dalot.

Man United are already making plans for the January transfer window, having bolstered Solskjaer’s squad over the summer with the signings of Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and Cristiano Ronaldo.

The report added that Solskjaer is hoping to trim his squad and add new players to his team by offloading some less important players, including Martial and Van de Beek.

Martial has fallen down the pecking order at Man United, while Van de Beek has endured a miserable spell at Old Trafford after joining the club from Ajax in 2020 for £40million.

However, Lingard was heavily linked with a move away from Man United over the summer after spending the second half of last season on loan at West Ham United.

Bailly and Jones have hardly featured for United over the past two years due to their injury issues.

‘Nnamdi Kanu Was Tortured In Kenya, Smeared With His Own Faeces and Urine’ – Lawyer

A couple of months after he was extradited into Nigeria via questionable means, more information has been unearthed as to how the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, spent the infamous eight days in Kenya.

He was tortured by Nigerian security agents in Kenya.

This was made known in the affidavit of a lawsuit Nnamdi Kanu filed against the Nigerian authorities. This 5 Billion Naira lawsuit detailed the torture he went through while in the custody of security officials in the East African country. At some points, he was smeared with his own urine and faeces.

The security agents reportedly refused to allow Kanu to use the toilet so he had no choice but to relieve himself where he was chained.

The suit which was filed in Umuahia, Abia state by Kanu’s counsel, Aloy Ejimakor on September 7th revealed that Kanu was beaten severely until he fainted and was revived with cold water.  The suit is seeking the enforcement of Kanu’s right to life, dignity of the human person, personal liberty and fair hearing.

The Affidavit in support of the originating motion was done by Prince Emmanuel Kanu, brother to Nnamdi Kanu. The affidavit, in part, reads thus:

“That the facts and violations deposed to in this affidavit started at the applicant’s residence in Isiama Afaraukwu Ibeku, Umuahia North Local Government Area of Abia State; to wit; the military invasion of the applicant in September 2017 by a combined team of Ohafia-based 14 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, the Abia State Command of Nigeria police force and the Abia State directorate of the State Security Service.

“It was the said invasion that nearly took the life of the applicant that caused him to seek refuge abroad which ultimately to Kenya, where the respondents lawfully pursued him, abducted him, disappeared him and ultimately brought him to Nigeria and detained him.

“That in October 2015, the applicant was arrested in Lagos upon his return from the United Kingdom, detained in Abuja and ultimately charged for certain offences Charge No: FHC/ABJ/CR/383/2015 (Federal Republic of Nigeria vs Nnamdi Kanu).

“That the applicant was detained for 18 months but was later released on bail whereupon he returned to his home in Isiama Afaraukwu Ibeku, Umuahia North, Abia State, and there awaiting his next trial date set fo October 2017.

“That on or about 10 September, while the applicant was resting at home with some family members and friends, the Ohafia-based Nigerian Army, police, and DSS launched military invasion and assaults at the applicant’s residential building and premises.

“That in the course of the military action, 28 people were killed and several others, including the applicant, were wounded. Both of the applicant’s parents sustained grave injuries from the military invasion and both of them eventually succumbed to those injuries and are now late.

“That in the course of the invasion, the applicant managed to escape to a safe location from where he managed to flee overseas to save his life. That there was neither a court order revoking the applicant’s bail nor any arrest warrant that could have justified the deadly military assault.

“That had the President implemented the provisional measures, the applicant would have felt safe enough to voluntarily end his exile and return to Nigeria to face prosecution in the said charge under reference therein.”

The affidavit went ahead to state the circumstances surrounding his arrest in Kenya.

“That in the course of his exile, the applicant on or about May 5, 2021, entered the Republic of Kenya on his British passport and was admitted as such as Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Nairobi. After his admission, the applicant settled in at a temporary location in Nairobi, Kenya.”

Emmanuel Kanu then went on to reveal in detail the abduction of Nnamdi Kanu from the East African country and his ordeal in the hands of the Nigerian security operatives at a private residence where he was taken to.

He stated “That on June 19, 2021, the applicant drove himself and without any companion to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, to drop off a friend at the airport. That as soon as the applicant pulled to stop at the parking lot and alighted from his vehicle, about twenty respondent’s agents (hereafter abductors) violently accosted and abducted the applicant, handcuffed and blindfolded him, bundled him in a vehicle and sped away, while telling onlookers that the applicant is a ‘terrorist separatist’.

“That the applicant’s abductors took him to a nondescript private house (not a police station) somewhere in Nairobi, Kenya, and chained him to the floor. That while chained to the floor, the applicant’s abductors took turns to beat him torturing him to a point that he fainted several times and was intermittently revived when they poured cold water on him.

“That to prevent the applicant’s anguished screaming from being heard in the vicinity, the applicant’s abductors tied a cloth over his mouth and so close to covering his nostrils that the applicant struggled to breathe.

“That the applicant remained chained to the floor for eight days and was thus forced to relieve himself of urine and excrement where he was chained with same being smeared all over his body. That throughout the duration of the applicant’s captivity, he was not allowed to bathe and was fed only on bland bread once a day and given non-sanitary water to drink.”

AnaedoOnline learned that there are 8 respondents in the case namely the Attorney-General of the Federation, the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Chief of the Army Staff, the Inspector-General of Police, the Commissioner for Police, Abia State, the Director-General, State Security Services, the Brigade Commander, 14 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Ohafia, Abia State, Abia State Director, State Security Services.

Oups! Macron recalls its ambassador to the US after Australia snubbed France in the Nuclear submarines deal

America’s oldest ally, France, took an extraordinary step on Friday September 17, recalling its ambassador to the United States and Australia.

The relationship between the US and France conceived in 18th century revolutions us now at a tipping point after the U.S. Australia and Britain shunned France in creating a new Indo-Pacific security arrangement that involved Australia dumping its previous agreement to buy diesel powered submarines from France in favor of buying better more equiped nuclear powered submarines from the US and the UK to counter growing threats from China.

For the first time in history, France recalls its ambassador to the US?after Australia snubbed France to buy nuclear submarines from US

It is the first time ever that France has recalled its ambassador to the U.S., according to the French foreign ministry. Paris also recalled its envoy to Australia.

France Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said in a written statement that the French decision, on request from President Emmanuel Macron, “is justified by the exceptional seriousness of the announcements” made by Australia and the United States.

For the first time in history, France recalls its ambassador to the US?after Australia snubbed France to buy nuclear submarines from US

He said Australia’s decision to scrap a big French conventional submarine purchase in favor of nuclear subs built with U.S. technology is “unacceptable behavior between allies and partners.”

Ambassador Philippe Etienne tweeted the announcements are “directly affecting the vision we have of our alliances, of our partnerships and of the importance of the Indo-Pacific for Europe.”

In response to the move, the Biden administration said it has been in close contact with French officials about the decision to recall Etienne to Paris, National Security Council spokesperson Emily Horne said.

“We understand their position and will continue to be engaged in the coming days to resolve our differences, as we have done at other points over the course of our long alliance,” she said in a statement.

“France is our oldest ally and one of our strongest partners, and we share a long history of shared democratic values and a commitment to working together to address global challenges.”

State Department spokesman Ned Price also stressed the value the U.S. places on its relationship with France and expressed hope that talks between the two sides will continue in the coming days, including at the United Nations General Assembly next week.

But in another twist, Macron, won’t be making a speech to the annual meeting of world leaders. Le Drian will instead deliver the French address.

This is the first time this will occur since Macron came into office in 2017.

The Australian government said it regretted France’s decision to recall its ambassador to that nation.

“Australia understands France’s deep disappointment with our decision, which was taken in accordance with our clear and communicated national security interests,” Foreign Minister Marise Payne’s office said in a statement.

It added that Australia valued its relationship with France and looked forward to future engagements together.

Macron’s decision to recall his ambassadors to the US is a shocking turnaround given that he welcomed Joe Biden’s presidency after having a  bitter relationship with former President Donald Trump.

The recall is his boldest foreign policy move yet in his four-year presidency

Earlier Friday, a top French diplomat, who spoke anonymously, said that Macron received a letter from Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison on Wednesday morning announcing the decision to cancel the submarine deal.

French officials then decided to reach out to the U.S. administration “to ask what was going on,” he said. He added that discussions with Washington took place just two to three hours before Biden announced the deal with Australia.

Le Drian expressed “total incomprehension” at the move and criticized both Australia and the U.S.

“It was really a stab in the back. We built a relationship of trust with Australia, and this trust was betrayed,” he said. “This is not done between allies.”

Former R. Kelly’s Assistant, Cheryl Mack testifies in R. Kelly trial

A former assistant to R. Kelly has testified against the singer that she once saw him engage in sexual activity with one of the women he is charged with abusing.

On the 18th day of testimony at Kelly’s trial in federal court in Brooklyn, Cheryl Mack, the mother of music producer London on da Track, said she saw Kelly begin to massage the woman while backstage at a Connecticut concert where he was performing.

Music producer, London On Da Track

“That was kind of my cue to leave,” Mack said. “I was very uncomfortable.” She said that as she left the room, she caught a glimpse of the woman moving her head toward Kelly’s groin.

Mack also said Kelly lost his temper in 2015 after she supposedly ruined a surprise birthday party for former stylist Kash Howard and had her sign an “apology letter” that included false claims she accepted kickbacks from booking agents.

Music producer, London On Da Track

“I apologised out of fear,” Mack said.

Several witnesses have testified that Kelly made them write apology letters, purportedly to absolve him of misconduct.

The disgraced singer, 54, has pleaded not guilty to charges over his alleged grooming and preying on women and girls as far back as the mid-1990s, when he shot to stardom with music including the 1996 smash I Believe I Can Fly.

The singer, whose full name is Robert Sylvester Kelly, faces one count of racketeering and eight counts of illegally transporting people across state lines for prostitution.

Kelly’s indictment said he abused six women and underage girls, including the singer Aaliyah, who Kelly married illegally in 1994 when she was 15. Aaliyah died in a 2001 plane crash.

Prosecution witnesses have said Kelly instilled fear as he demanded they follow his stringent rules, including by having women and girls call him “Daddy,” and punished those who disobeyed, including by demanding unwanted sex.

Kelly’s lawyers have tried to portray his accusers as fans who once hoped to capitalise on the singer’s fame but felt jilted, and questioned why they and former employees failed to leave Kelly sooner or go to the police.

Kelly’s defense attorney countered Mack’s testimony by suggesting that she was a veteran in the industry and an adult who knew better than to sign a “fake” letter.

“I wasn’t thinking at all,” Mack told him.

R. Kelly is currently on federal trial in New York on charges of running a criminal enterprise where employees recruited women and girls for him to abuse and sexually assault. The singer has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

All the Southern Governors back collection of VAT by their respective States

Governors from the Southern region of the country who met today September 16 in Enugu, have expressed support for the collection of value-added tax (VAT) by state governments.

This was conveyed in a communique read out by Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo state at the end of the meeting.

The Governors who reaffirmed its earlier commitments to fiscal federalism and emphasised the need to pursue its inclusion in the Nigerian Constitution through the ongoing constitutional amendment, stressed that collection of VAT falls within the powers of the state.

Akeredolu who is chairman of the southern governors’ forum, urged Governors in the region to leverage the competence of their houses of assembly and representation at the national assembly to pursue the goal.

He said;

“We resolved to support the position that the collection of VAT falls within the powers of the state.

“The meeting reaffirmed its earlier commitments to fiscal federalism and emphasised the need to pursue its inclusion in the Nigerian Constitution through the ongoing constitutional amendment.”

The Governors also said collection of VAT by the state governments would go a long way in boosting their economic growth and development, unlike when the Federal Inland Revenue Service(FIRS) has the responsibility of collecting VAT which goes into the coffers of the federal government.

The forum also expressed satisfaction with the states in the region that have successfully implemented the anti-open grazing law in line with the decision reached during the meeting held in Delta State.

States in the region that are yet to implement the decision reached at its earlier meeting, were asked to expeditiously do so as it represents the aspirations of the people in the region.

Akeredolu added;

“The meeting expressed satisfaction with the rate at which states in the south of Nigeria are amending or enacting the anti-open grazing law.

“This aligns with the uniform template and aspiration of governors in the south and we encourage the states that have yet to enact the law to do so expeditiously.

“The meeting agreed to encourage the full operationalisation of the already agreed regional security which will share intelligence and collaborate toward the safety and security of the region.”

The governors also expressed satisfaction with the handling of issues surrounding the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) and ownership of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation by the larger Nigerian Governors Forum, and also demanded that the next president of Nigeria should come from the southern region in line with the politics of equity, justice and fairness,

Akeredolu said;

“The meeting reiterated its earlier position that the next president of Nigeria will come from the south of Nigeria in line with the politics of equity, justice and fairness.”

The meeting was attended by Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, governor of Enugu, Nyesom Wike, governor of Rivers, Emmanuel Udom, governor of Akwa Ibom, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, governor of Lagos, Ifeanyi Okowa, governor of Delta, Adegboyega Oyetola (Osun), Douye Diri (Bayelsa) and Dapo Abiodun (Ogun).

Facebook is aware that Instagram is mentally killing teenage girls – Leaked documents reveal

Social media company, Facebook, has repeatedly found that its photo-sharing app is mentally harmful and toxic to a significant percentage of teenagers, according to a new report.

According to a report by the Wall Street Journal,  Facebook conducted internal studies over the past three years that examined how Instagram affects its young user base, with the study finding out that teenage girls are the most notably harmed.

One internal Facebook presentation said that among teens who reported suicidal thoughts, 13% of British users and 6% of American users traced the issue to Instagram.

“Thirty-two percent of teen girls said that when they felt bad about their bodies, Instagram made them feel worse,” the researchers reportedly wrote. Facebook also reportedly found that 14% of boys in the U.S. said Instagram made them feel worse about themselves.

While Facebook concluded that a large percentage of teenagers aren’t negatively harmed by Instagram, according to the Journal, the features that the social media company identified as the most harmful are part of its key makeup like it’s explore page and it’s filter features.

According to the report, researchers warned Instagram’s Explore page, which serves users selected posts from a wide range of accounts, can push users into content that can be harmful.

The app also has a culture of posting only the best pictures and videos, and it can be very addictive.

“Aspects of Instagram exacerbate each other to create a perfect storm,” the research said, according to the Journal.

Top executives have reviewed the research, according to the Wall Street Journal, and it was cited in a presentation given last year to CEO Mark Zuckerberg.

Facebook is now reportedly building a version of Instagram for kids under age 13.

Young users are a key to Instagram’s success as more than 40% of Instagram’s users are 22 years old and younger.

Instagram has now responded to the report.

Instagram’s head of public policy, Karina Newton, said the company is researching ways to pull users away from dwelling on certain types of Instagram posts.

“We’re exploring ways to prompt them to look at different topics if they’re repeatedly looking at this type of content,” Newton said. “We’re cautiously optimistic that these nudges will help point people towards content that inspires and uplifts them, and to a larger extent, will shift the part of Instagram’s culture that focuses on how people look.”

US lawmaker, Rep. Lori Trahan, D-Mass., has made children’s mental health concerns in connection with social media a huge topic in Washington and blasted Facebook for trying to create am Instagram app for kids

She called for Facebook to “immediately abandon plans for Instagram for Kids” and focus instead on protecting existing young users.

“Facebook’s internal documents show that the company’s failure to protect children on Instagram – especially young girls – is outright neglect, and it’s been going on for years,” Trahan said in a statement.

“Facebook has no business developing additional social media platforms explicitly designed for our children when they can’t be trusted to keep their current house in order.”

Five years ago, Osayande came into the hands of a gang of men who promised her a brighter future and work in Europe, leading her, alongside some other girls, to begin her difficult journey to Belgium, which included crossing over to Italy on a rubber boat, and being raped multiple times.

Upon arrival in Brussels in 2016, she was immediately forced into prostitution and had to pay her pimps €45,000 for the smuggling, as well as paying rent for a filthy flat where she lived together with several other victims.

In June 2018, she was stabbed with 17 knives by a disgruntled customer, a 17-year-old man who was arrested two weeks later. He is awaiting trial.

In January this year, the four people involved in her smuggling were sentenced to between 33 months and four years in prison.

In the weeks leading up to her death, she had contacted a sex worker charity and told them she was experiencing violence and intimidation while working. She feared she couldn’t go to the police because she was an undocumented migrant.

Protests led by the migrant sex worker community in Brussels soon erupted. The marchers demanded better working conditions and called on local authorities to create clear legal guidelines for the sector.

Prostitution is not illegal in Belgium but there are no unified national rules.

A year following her death, her colleagues gathered to commemorate her during a silent march and pleaded with the municipality for better working condition.

Maxime Maes, director of the UTSOPI sex workers union in Brussels, who organised the march and was closely involved with the case, welcomes the tribute to a colleague that “was brutally taken from us”.

“Sex workers are often forgotten, this time it will not be the case,” Maes said.

“Eunice’s death has been extremely distressing, especially for undocumented migrants in the area where she worked. The area has seen increasing violence and the most marginalised women are targeted.” she told BBC.

By naming a new street after Ms Osayande, the City of Brussels said it wanted to draw attention to all the “forgotten women who are victims of human trafficking, sexual violence and femicides”.

The new street, which will be in the north of Brussels city, is part of an ongoing initiative by the council to name more areas after women.

The council has already named streets after several notable women, including resistance fighters Yvonne Nèvejean and Andrée De Jongh, and a bridge after Suzan Daniel, a Belgian LGBT activist.

But Ans Persoons, Alderwoman for the city of Brussels, said: “Feminism for us is not just about women who excel. Inclusive feminism is about women’s rights and struggles at every social rank.”

Ms Persoons said 42% of women in Belgium between the ages of 16 and 69 have experienced physical sexual violence at some point.

“This percentage is much higher among sex workers. And that is precisely why Eunice Osayande gets a street.”

The street, which is under construction, will be officially opened in the next few months.

The city council say sex workers and migrant communities will be invited to speak at the inauguration.

Irina Shayk refuses to speak on her relationship with Kanye West

Irina Shayk has refused to speak on her rumoured relationship with Kanye West amid reports they went their separate ways in August after allegedly dating for five months.

The Russian supermodel declined to comment about her short-lived romance with the rapper when asked about him during an interview with Highsnobiety.

In her reply, Irina said: ‘tomorrow there is going to be a rumor that I’m dating my doorman, okay? Then after tomorrow, it’s going to be someone else.’

Adding: ‘Look, there’s always something there, and I’m just keeping it to myself.’

While she would not speak about Kanye, she instead mentioned her ex Bradley Cooper, who is the father of her 4-year-old daughter Lea de Seine.

She said of Bradley: ‘He’s a full-in, hands-on dad – no nanny. Lea went on holiday with him for almost two weeks – I didn’t call them once.’

They also both agree on how to raise her: ‘Me and her father are very strict. When she finishes eating, she gets up from the table, takes her plate, says “thank you.”‘

‘Without “please” or “thank you” she’s not getting anything. It’s hard, because she has so many toys. I had one doll, and I still have this doll. Blonde, blue eyes, big Russian doll. My grandma used to make clothes for her. And I always explain, “Look, this is my doll. I had only one.” Or sometimes, “You have this candy. I used to have candy only for Christmas.”‘

In late August, it was reported that Irina and Kanye called off their alleged romance, after dating for five months.

Kanye, who’s facing a divorce from estranged wife Kim Kardashian, reportedly began dating Irina in March 2021, according to TMZ.

Nigerian Actress, Ejine Okoroafor narrowly escaped being arrested in Paris for using ‘fake’ Euro note (Tweet)

Actress Ejine Okoroafor has claimed that she was almost arrested in Paris for using ”fake Euro notes” she allegedly got from a Nigerian bank.

According to the actress, she got to know the notes were fake after trying to purchase some items in a mall on Thursday September 16. She added that when she took the money to a bank, the cash machine seized the €2000 that was rightfully placed and rejected the last squeezed €500, with a receipt that the money is fake.

Ejine also claimed that she almost got into trouble when took the money to Moneygram with a friend to confirm its authenticity and eventually had to go to the police station for a report. She also claimed that when the bank manager of the Nigerian bank was called, he said they’ve been told to “stop issuing that cash.” alhough she was not informed.

The actress described the situation as a “big shame” and urged others to be careful of big denominations when they travel.

Ejine wrote;

Thursday, the 16th of September, I was ashamed being a Nigerian. At a mall here in Paris,I went to purchase some items and I was told the Euro notes I had were fake. I bought the money from a well known bank in Nigeria (PTA).

I took it to bank, A cash machine seized the €2000 that was rightfully placed and rejected the last squeezed €500. With a receipt that the money is fake.(because I was advised to pay the money into an account and withdraw in smaller denominations that they hardly spend 500euro)I asked my friend, who lives here to help me with the transaction. So We took d surviving €500 to MoneyGram to confirm its authenticity and we almost got into trouble, dey wanted to call the Police on us.

We eventually had to visit the Police station for her to report,to avoid her account from getting blocked or being negatively affected by this situation.meanwhile I called the bank manager when the atm seized the money, to let him know what had happened ,he said ‘I should have called him when they told me at the mall,I won’t have gone to the bank’. I should return the money.Apparently, he said they had been told to stop issuing that cash and I was never alerted.

The alert would have helped me to be cautious.
Dear Nigerians, avoid the big denominations for now, if you need to collect via PTA system to travel.
It is a real big shame.
Thank You.

GrandMother dies for 45 minutes and miraculously came back to life just before her grandchild was born

A woman who had a heart attack and was clinically dead for 45 minutes was brought back to life just before her daughter gave birth.

Kathy Patten from Maryland, USA, was playing golf on July 2, when she received a call that her daughter, Stacey Fifer, was in labour.

She hurried to the hospital to be with her daughter for the birth of her 8th grandchild but had a heart attack just as she arrived.

The medical personnel rushed her to the emergency room, where they attempted CPR and administered oxygen, but to no avail.

Patten had no heart rate, pulse, blood pressure, or oxygen to the brain for 45 minutes, which indicated she was clinically dead.

Meanwhile, her daughter, Fifer, had to undergo an emergency C-section following 39 hours of labour, as the baby was stuck in the birth canal.

However, a miracle occurred, as Patten describes it. The medical team was able to resurrect her.

She said: “I’m grateful to God for giving me another opportunity. I’ll simply be the greatest person I can be. Coming back is a second shot at life, and it’s terrifying.”

Fifer then gave birth to Alora saying, “It was just fate that my mum was intended to be here.

“My mum is here because of Alora, and she happened to be in the right place at the right moment. She is nothing short of a walking miracle.”

Dr Dov Frankel, one of Patten’s doctors at Greater Baltimore Medical Centre, was equally astounded and humbled by the encounter:

He said: “I don’t say welcome, I say thank you. You taught us the meaning of life. You showed us what it meant to never give up.”

Who is Prince Ned Munir Nwoko?

Prince Ned Munir Nwoko is a British trained Lawyer.

Born on December 21, 1960, into the  Idumuje- Ugboko Royal family in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta state , Prince Nwoko attended the University of Keele in Staffordshire, United Kingdom. Here he acquired his Bachelors degree in Law and History.

He then obtained an LLM in Maritime and Commercial Law from King’s College, London. He was subsequently called to the English Bar at Lincoln’s Inn.
Prince Nwoko  later qualified as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales. He then set up his own firm, Ned Nwoko Solicitors and became the Principal Partner and Senior Consultant .

At the zenith of his practice, his organisation had over 30 Lawyers in his employ and  gained international acclaim for its meticulous and tenacious legal battles for financial probity, transparency, management and verification of foreign debts of third world countries and their component states.

The firm was renowned for its legal and consultancy work for several African and Asian governments in interstate and inter government work and relationship in democratic settings are therefore a familiar terrain.

Prince Nwoko and his firm won global acclaim when he took some banks to court in Uk Paris and Geneva in what was a test case on behalf of some states in Nigeria who were said to be indebted to Paris and London Club group of lenders. He initiated discussions with Nigerian government on the need to reconcile and verify our foreign loans that eventually culminated in the exit from the foreign loans. He engaged with the Federal government resulting in the acceptance by the Obasanjo government to reimburse the state governments to the value of 20% in full and final settlement for their claims for refund on the Paris and London Club Debt Buy-Back. Prince Ned Nwoko persuaded reluctant state governments to accept the Federal government offer and pursue the balance subsequently as the law was in their favor. This was what eventually played out as the state governments accepted the informed advice of the incisive counsel.
In 2009, following Nigeria’s exit from the foreign obligations he was engaged in a class action at the Federal High court, Abuja, by all the states in pursuit of their refunds from over deductions. The Federal Government  settled out of court leading to a total refund of over US$10billion to all the states.

His Nigerian firm, Linas International Limited, was equally engaged by the 774 Local Government Areas and following various court judgements in Linas’ favour, the  federal government  has refunded over US$3billion to the Local Government Areas.
Prince Nwoko returned to Nigeria in 1998,  contested and won the election into the  Federal House of Representatives as a member representing Aniocha and Oshimili Federal Constituency of Delta state. He remained a member of the legislative house till 2003.

As a member of the House, he sponsored 22 bills. Some of these bills are still being implemented today. They include :
* National Minimum Wage Bill 1999
* A bill for an Act to standardize allowances and fringe benefits payable to public/government officials– Monetization Bill.
* A bill for an Act to establish public funds recovery and reward commission ( Whistle blowing )

In 2019, Prince Nwoko contested for the Delta North Senatorial election .
In the complex litigations that followed the election, he won at the High Court but the Appeal and Supreme Courts voided his initial victory.

Beyond his manifest strides in legal practice and politics, Prince Nwoko has interests in aviation, real estate and agriculture.

He is the Chairman of Project Tourism which his company, Linas International Limited launched in collaboration with the Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation, NTDC to project Nigeria’s tourism and cultural endowments through profitable creative projects.

Prince Nwoko is the founder of the proposed first sports university in Africa, STARS, an acronym for Sports, Technology, Arts and Research Sciences. STARS,  with structures now nearing completion,  would in Prince Nwoko’s vision address the critical issue of Nigeria’s  increasing poor performances in international competitions through internationally financed trainings abroad for its sports students and administrators. STARS also  delineates  Prince Nwoko’s yearning and zeal for the education of sports men and those working in the sports arena in Nigeria .

In January,  2020, his Foundation,  Ned Nwoko Foundation,  launched the Malaria Eradication Project, a mision to eliminate malaria in Nigeria  and Africa in general beginning with waste management , sanitation and vaccine development.

To flag off this project , Prince Nwoko made a symbolic, audacious expedition to the Antarctica where he planted the Nigerian flag. He, consequently, became the first black man to visit the South Pole and thus put Nigeria’s name on the global map, a feat that reverberated across the globe.

Prince Nwoko is a passionate and committed philanthropist.  Through his Foundation , he has given scholarships to hundreds of indigent students across the country, sponsoring skill acquisition programmes and youth empowerment initiatives while growing the  economy of the village market women through provision of petty trading funds. His philanthropy cuts across education, tourism, sports , human capital development and agriculture.

For his benevolent financial support for Nigeria’s creative industry, Nollywood,  he was made a Patron of both the Actors Guild of Nigeria , AGN and Association of Movie Producers,  Nigeria, AMP.

The Federal University of Petroleum, Effurun, Delta state, awarded him an Honourary Doctorate degree for his ” uncommon philanthropy, service and integrity “. He also received additional Honourary awards from the University  of Ibadan and the Delta State University for his phenomenal charity.  The Commonwealth University College in Belize  bestowed on him an Honorary Doctorate degree while he was also placed on a pedestal of honour in 2019 as Human Rights Champion of the Decade by Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria for sponsoring bills that promote human rights including the National Public Funds Recovery and Reward bill that gave birth to the whistle blowing policy in the fight against corruption in Nigeria. These were in addition to several local and international awards bestowed on him for his humanitarian ventures, an untrammelled integrity and a rare passion to touch those on the lower rung of the economic ladder.

Prince Ned Nwoko,  with doubt, is a man in the theatre of time. His political trek is yet unfinished.

Kanye West ‘cheated on Kim Kardashian, – source claims

Kanye West allegedly had an affair with an “A-list singer” while he was still married to Kim Kardashian, a source has claimed.

According to The Sun, the 44-year-old rapper reportedly cheated on the reality star shortly after the birth of their second child, Saint, 5.

Just weeks earlier, the rapper hinted at being unfaithful to Kim through lyrics of his new music. Kanye rapped that he cheated after the birth of their first two kids.

A source close to the family has now claimed to the publication that Kim was going through a hard time after she welcomed her son, Saint.

And it is believed that Kanye may have been intimate with a household name back in 2015, according to the informant.

The insider claimed: “Kanye cheated on Kim with an A-list singer. At the time it happened, Kanye was mainly living in his bachelor pad in Hollywood because it was closer to his studio and he wasn’t going to go home to Kim and a newborn baby when he’d been partying late in the studio.

“Kim wasn’t feeling herself – the breastfeeding, the extra weight, the baby in the bedroom, the early morning exercise routines and juice diets – and Kanye was out late a lot.

“[Kim] was struggling and thought it was all because of how she looked – it put a lot of pressure on her at a time when she was at her most vulnerable … She blamed herself and vowed to ‘bounce back’ hotter than ever.”

Mum and her Daughter who refused to take COVID-19 Vaccines die weeks apart

A mother and daughter who refused to take the COVID-19 vaccine, have died weeks apart in same hospital ward after contracting the virus.

32-year-old mother of four, Sammie-Jo Forde died in Ulster Hospital, on the outskirts of east Belfast, Ireland on Saturday September 11, after her 55-year-old mother Heather Maddern died on August 31, just two beds away from her.

The women and daughter who lived together, also worked alongside each other as care assistants. Both contracted COVID-19 and were admitted to hospital.

Ms Forde’s dad, Kevin McAllister who commented on the death of his daughter and his former partner said;

“I’ve lost my daughter, my best friend.”

Mother and daughter who refused to take COVID-19 vaccines die in same hospital ward, weeks apart

Mr McAllister confirmed that his ex-partner and his daughter were “very, very” close and had both worked and lived together. He told BBC he had “never, never” thought he would have to bury his daughter”, as he recounted how she texted him and informed him of her mother’s death.

He said;

“My daughter sent me a text message saying: ‘Dad, Mummy’s passed away”

McAllister stated that he did not understand why his daughter and ex-partner did not take up the offer of a vaccine to protect themselves against COVID-19. He also spoke of the irony that the pair had worked to help other people but didn’t help themselves.

He added;

“These people who are not taking the Covid-19 injection – they’re not thinking of the other people that they leave behind.

“I can never get it out of my mind. Why didn’t she take it? It will haunt me for the rest of my life.

“I just wish people out there would listen to the experts. I am devastated.

“If she had took it she would be alive today, her and her mummy.

“Loads of people out there not taking it, they don’t realise what they are leaving behind. We have to pick up the pieces. I have two sons as well and they haven’t gone to work, they have lost a sister.

“I don’t want nobody to go through what that man has to go through, rearing four kids on his own.

“I have come back to work today to take my mind off it but next Monday I have to bury my first born, my best friend, my daughter and I wouldn’t wish it on anybody.

“I just wish to God she took it. It is on my mind every night”.

A fundraising page set up by a woman called ‘Debbie’ to help relieve the financial burden faced by Ms Forde’s husband, had raised more than £10,000 since it was set up at the beginning of this week.

Maurice Fayne, US Artist, sentenced to 17 years in Prison for fraud

A former star on the show “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” has been sentenced to more than 17 years in federal prison for charges related to a Ponzi scheme and for a fraudulent Paycheck Protection Program loan application

The Acting U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Georgia, Kurt Erskine, said Maurice Fayne, 38, ran a multistate Ponzi scheme that defrauded more than 20 people who invested in his trucking business.

Officials said Fayne, also known as Arkansas Mo, promised he would use investors’ money to operate the business. However, they said he used the funds to pay personal debts and to live an extravagant lifestyle.

“During the scheme, Fayne spent more than $5 million at a casino in Oklahoma,” according to the news release.

Erskine said in April of last year, Fayne submitted a $3.7 million PPP loan application claiming his trucking business had more than 100 workers with an average monthly payroll of $1,490,200. However, they said he spent $40,000 for past-due child support, $50,000 on restitution for a previous fraud case, $136,000 to lease a Rolls-Royce, $907,000 to start a business in Arkansas, and thousands more on other expenses.

“Fayne planned to use the PPP program as a cover for his long-running Ponzi scheme,” said Erskine. “The funds the program supplies serve as a lifeline to many businesses desperately trying to stay afloat during the pandemic, and unfortunately his fraud helped deplete those precious dollars.”

In addition to his 17 years and six months of prison time, he will also have five years of supervised release. In addition, the reality TV star must pay almost $4.5 million in restitution.

Fayne appeared on season 8 of VH1’s Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta as the love interest of longtime cast member Karlie Redd.

Singer Seun Kuti has asked Pastors and Imam to stop asking their congregants to pray for Nigeria.

According to the singer, clerics should start telling their congregants to fight for the country instead. He backed this up by pointing out that Pastors who underperformed in their churches, were sacked and not prayed for.

Kuti added that girls who accused Pastors of raping them weren’t prayed for, including men who accused Pastors of sleeping with their wives. He concluded by stating that Nigerians should fight for the country.

He wrote;

Kenya: 2 toddlers mauled to death by hyenas

Two children have been killed by hyenas at Baisa village in Kinango, Kwale County, Kenya.

The siblings, Lugo Nyale,2, Mbodze Nyawa, 1, were attacked at about 9:30am on Tuesday, September 14, while they were sleeping in their house

Their mother, Mulongo Tsimba was burning charcoal few meters away from the house when the incident happened.

Kinango sub-county police commander, Fred Ombaka, who confirmed the incident said Mulongo tried to defend her children from the vicious hyenas but to no avail.

She later ran for help from the nearest neighbours to rescue the young souls but the hyenas had already killed the two and fed on their brains.

The angry residents who responded to the cry of help decided to attack the hyenas and managed to kill one, the other disappeared in the bush.

Chengoni sub-chief, Jackson Chengo said two residents, Kalu Chiti,21, Mutuku Mutinda, 64, and the children’s mother sustained serious body bruises.

The three are currently receiving treatment at Samburu sub-county hospital.

“In total, the animals have injured seven people in the past two days,” said Mr Chengo.

The bodies of the two children were taken to Kinango Hospital mortuary for postmortem.

The hyena carcass was sent to the KWS vet laboratory for further examination.

Kinango area has recently experienced increased human-wildlife conflict as drought intensifies.

Almost 90 percent of the Kinango water sources are reported to have dried up leading to water and food scarcity as animals and wildlife compete for the remaining crucial commodities.

Three days ago a herd of elephants stormed Mrunguruguni village within Kinango causing the disturbance.

Last year, a lion attacked and killed livestock in Sagalato and Boyana villages and injured others in Matuga.

‘Prince Kpokpogri threatened to expose my nudes’ – Tonto Dikeh

Nollywood Actress, Tonto Dikeh, has alleged that her ex-lover, Prince Kpokpogri, is threatening to release her nude pictures.

The actress, whose relationship with Kpokpogri crashed last month, said this in a petition to the police.

DailyTrust reports that Tonto in her petition to the police issued by her legal team accused Kpokpogri of blackmail, extortion, and obtaining by false pretense.

“From sometime in June 2021, one Prince Kpokpogri Joseph started to court our client with a proposal to marry her.

In the process, he would invite our client to his residence and sometimes, he came over to our client’s residence.

Unknown to our client, the said Joseph Kpokpogri (who our client later discovered to be a serial blackmailer) had other motives for courting our client.

Our client now has reasons and evidence to believe that Joseph Kpokpogri has planted closed-circuit television cameras (CCTV Cameras) at private areas of his residence, and had stage-managed those visits with the aim of blackmailing our client.

She was surprised when sometime in August 2021, the suspect started demanding money from her and threatening to expose nude pictures and other such documents relating to her.

To actualize his demands, the said Kpokpogri started sending messages, documents, and files containing sensitive information and materials relating to our client to her phone while also releasing some to the public. Our client believes that some of those information were obtained either by wire-tapping her phone and/or through such other means without her authorization.

The said Kpokpogri equally obtained the sum of eight million naira (8,000,000) from our client under false pretenses. However, he has paid back the sum of six million naira (6,000,000) but has refused, failed, and/or neglected to pay the sum of two million naira (2,000,000) outstanding. Our client’s Toyota Hilux van (2021 Model) bought in her name is also in the custody of Kpokpogri which he has refused to return despite several demands.

By reason of the above, we urge you to use your good offices to cause a detailed investigation into the above facts with a view to bring Joseph Kpokpogri to book.”the petition read in part

French troops kill ISIS’s commander in North Africa, $5M bounty was placed on his head

The head of Islamic State in north Africa, who was wanted for deadly attacks on US soldiers and foreign aid workers, has been killed in an operation by French troops.

Adnan Abu Walid al-Sahrawi was “neutralised by French forces”, President Emmanuel Macron tweeted early Thursday September 16.

“This is another major success in our fight against terrorist groups in the Sahel,” Macron said, without giving the location or details of the operation.

The jihadist leader was behind the killing of French aid workers in 2020 and was also wanted by the United States over a deadly 2017 attack on US troops in Niger.

Walid al Sahraoui, who was in his late 40s, was ‘neutralised’ four years after ordering a notorious ambush in Niger which led to the deaths of Army Sgt David Johnson, 25; Staff Sgt Bryan Black, 35; Staff Sgt Jeremiah Johnson, 39; and Staff Sgt Dustin Wright, 29.

Four Nigerien troops were also killed in the attack, and two American soldiers and eight Nigerien soldiers were severely wounded.

Islamic State in the Greater Sahara is blamed for most of the jihadist attacks in the Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso region.

The flashpoint “tri-border” area is frequently targeted by ISGS and the Al-Qaeda-affiliated Group for the Support of Islam and Muslims (GSIM).

ISGS has carried out deadly attacks targeting civilians and soldiers in Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso.

The United States had offered a $5 million reward for information on the whereabouts of Sahrawi, who was wanted over an October 4, 2017 attack in Niger that killed four US Special Forces and four Niger troops.

 French military kill ISIS

On August 9, 2020, in Niger, the head of ISGS personally ordered the killing of six French aid workers and their Niger guides and drivers.

Sahrawi was formerly a member of Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) and also co-led Mujao, a Malian Islamist group responsible for kidnapping Spanish aid workers in Algeria and a group of Algerian diplomats in Mali in 2012.

There is information on how he was killed or where or when the attack happened, but an Élysée Palace spokesman said the ISIS leader ‘was definitely dead’.

The incident reportedly happened at Okerube in Abaranje area of Ikotun, Lagos, where the couple reside.

The husband, Aremu Moshood,  opened a fish pond and employed Precious, 26, to manage it.

After a while the husband allegedly started sleeping with Precious and rented a one bedroom and parlour self-contained apartment for her without the knowledge of his wife. He regularly visited Precious secretly.

After a while, Aremu’s business reportedly folded and he was unable to pay the house rent of where he lived with his wife and three children at Ikotun/Igando Road.

Aremu was evicted by his landlord- as a result, he decided to move his wife and children into the apartment he had rented for Precious, temporarily.

It was during that period that the wife discovered that her husband was having an affair with Precious and he was even the person that was paying the house rent.

This caused animosity and constant fights between Precious and Mrs. Adeola to the extent that one day, Precious boiled water and poured it on Mrs. Adeola’s body while she was sleeping around 1.00am.

She was immediately rushed to hospital where she is being treated.

The Police at Ikotun Division have arrested Precious and transferred her to the SCID, Panti, Yaba area of Lagos for the act, where she is facing charge of attempted murder and serious assault .

Atlanta: Several Gorillas test positive for COVID-19 in zoo

Thirteen western lowland gorillas at Zoo Atlanta have tested positive for Coronavirus.

Staff were alerted when several of the zoo’s troop of 20 western lowland gorillas began exhibiting symptoms, including runny noses, mild coughing and loss of appetite.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that fecal samples and swabs sent to the University of Georgia’s veterinary diagnostic laboratory showed that 13 of the great apes were positive for Coronavirus.

A statement released by the management of the zoo wrote;

“Recently, Gorilla Care Team members observed coughing, nasal discharge, and minor changes in appetite in several members of the gorilla population.

“Upon the onset of these signs, the Animal Care and Veterinary Teams immediately pursued testing for SARS-CoV-2. Fecal samples and nasal and oral swab samples were sent to the Athens Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory at the University of Georgia, where they tested presumptively positive.

“Zoo Atlanta is waiting to receive the results of the confirmatory tests on samples sent to the National Veterinary Services Laboratory in Ames, Iowa.”

The zoo also revealed that the gorillas at risk of experiencing COVID-19 complications, are receiving monoclonal antibodies.

The statement added;

“The teams are collecting samples for testing for the Zoo’s entire gorilla population, which includes 20 members living in four troops, and will regularly test the gorillas regardless of the presence of symptoms.”

It is believed that the gorillas were infected by an employee who was fully vaccinated and wearing Personal Protective Equipment while caring for the animals, but later tested positive for COVID-19.

The zoo said;

“While humans are known to be able to transmit the virus to animals such as gorillas, and these cases have occurred at other zoos, there is currently no data to suggest that zoo animals can transmit the virus to humans.

“Regardless, Zoo Atlanta visitors do not pose a transmission threat to the gorillas or vice versa given the distance between the areas used by guests and the animals’ habitats.

“The teams are very closely monitoring the affected gorillas and are hopeful they will make a complete recovery. They are receiving the best possible care, and we are prepared to provide additional supportive care should it become necessary.

“We are very concerned that these infections occurred, especially given that our safety protocols when working with great apes and other susceptible animal species are, and throughout the pandemic have been, extremely rigorous.”

Before the gorillas tested positive, the zoo was waiting to receive a COVID-19 vaccine made specifically for animals and approved by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and Georgia’s State Veterinarian called Zoetis.

The doses have arrived at the zoo and staff will begin administering them to “Bornean and Sumatran orangutans, Sumatran tigers, African lions, and clouded leopard. As the gorillas recover, they will also receive the vaccine.”

Ouch! Kpokpogri Must Return My Toyota Hilux, Tonto Dikeh Tells Police

Tonto Dikeh has petitioned the Police alleging attempts by her ex-lover, Prince Joseph Kpokpogri to blackmail her using her nude pictures and some other documents obtained in the course of their three-month affair.

In the petition cited by  GreenWhiteGreen GWG, authored on her behalf from Festus Keyamo Chambers the police was also asked to recover a N2 million loan that is outstanding from an N8 million loan granted Tonto Dikeh to Prince Kpokpogri during their affair. A 2021 Toyota Hilux belonging to Tonto Dikeh is also alleged in the petition to have been confiscated by the former lover and for which the police was asked to help recover.

GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that Tonto Dikeh and Prince Kpokpogri had a three-month affair during which they showcased one another as the best for the other with Tonto Dikeh gushing him as the husband fitting for her following her rancorous divorce from Olakunle Churchill.

The break-up between Tonto Dikeh and Prince Kpokpogri came in the shadows of allegations of infidelity between both lovers and claims that the actress passionately begged Kpokpogri not to dump her.

However, in the petition against Kpokpogri dated September 6, 2021 and received by the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, Tonto Dikeh writing through her counsels in Festus Keyamo Chambers, Okechukwu Uju-Azorji, Esq, and Arinze Egbo Esq, submitted:

We are solicitors to Miss Tonto Dikeh, and it is on her instruction that we write this petition to your esteemed office.

We have been briefed as follows:

That sometime in June 2021 one Prince Kpokpogri Joseph started to court our client with a proposal to marry her. In the process, he would invite our client to his residence and sometimes he came over to our client’s residence. Unknown to our client, the said Joseph Kpokpogri (who our client later discovered to be a serial blackmailer) had other motives for courting our client.

Kpokpogri Took My Nude Pictures, Tonto Dikeh Tells Police

Our client now has reason and evidence to believe that Joseph Kpokpogri had planted closed circuit Television Cameras (CCTV cameras) at private areas of his residence, and had stage-managed those visits with the aim of blackmailing her client. She was surprised when sometime in August 2021, the suspect started demanding money from her and threatening to expose nude pictures and other such documents relating to her to actualize his demands. The said Kpokpogri started sending messages, documents, and files containing sensitive information and materials relating to our client to her phone while also releasing some to the public.

Our client believes that some of those information were obtained by wire-tapping her phone and/or through such other means without her authorization.

The said Kpokpogri also obtained the sum of N8,000,000.00 (eight million naira) under false pretences, however, he has paid back the sum of N6,000, 000.00 (six million naira) but has refused, failed and/or neglected to pay the sum of N2,000,000.00 (two million) outstanding. Our client’s Toyota Hilux van (2021 Model) bought in her name is also in the custody of Kpokpogri which he has refused to return despite several demands.

By reason of the above, we urge you to use your good offices to cause a detailed investigation into the above facts with a view of bringing Joseph Kpokpogri to book.

Thank you

South Korea fires Missiles in Response to North Korea Launching of New Missiles

Both North and South Korea fired ballistic missiles on Wednesday, September 15, increasing tensions in an already hostile Korean peninsula.

North Korea fired the first missiles on Wednesday, sending two into waters off the east coast of the Korean Peninsula five minutes apart, at 12:38 p.m. and 12:43 p.m. local time (11:38 p.m. and 11:43 p.m. ET), according to Japan, who labeled the action as ‘dangerous’

South Korea, the North’s neighbor that houses tens of thousands of US troops,  replied less than three hours later with their own submarine-launched ballistic missiles (SLBM)

The South Korean missiles were fired, from a new submerged 3,700-ton submarine ROKS Dosan Ahn Changho, South Korea’s Defense Ministry said, also revealing that South Korean President Moon Jae-in was present for the test.

The missile hit its target accurately, the ministry said without giving more details.

South Korea’s weapons development, and its missile capabilities has been on an upward trend as they become more wary of the growing missile program in North Korea.

Wednesday’s missile tests from both Koreas came just a few hours after Moon met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Seoul.

China exerts some influence over North Korea, and during the meeting, Moon said Pyongyang has not been responding to efforts by Seoul and Washington to engage in dialogue concerning the situation on the peninsula

In May, South Korea’s Moon and US President Joe Biden agreed to end a 40-year-old bilateral agreement that limited the range and payload of South Korean missiles

With the missile launch, South Korea becomes the seventh military in the world to successfully test an SLBM

The other SLBM nations have nuclear weapons, although South Korea does not have nuclear weapons.

Bishop David Oyedepo, president and founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, has revealed how a worshipper ran mad while trying to steal from the church.

Speaking at the ongoing International Youth Alive Convention 2021 in Canaanland Ota in Ogun State, Oyedepo warned that the church is “a dreadful place”.

Bishop Oyedepo shares how a worshipper ran mad after trying to steal from his church

He said: “In one of the Shilohs, I warned people and somebody was found trying to pick something that was not his and he ran mad immediately.”

Oyedepo warned youths participating in the programme to deviate from such theft.

He said: “I waited so as to sound this note of warning. ‘How dreadful is this place. This is none other but the house of God and this is the gate of heaven.

“Be warned against picking anything that is not yours. Be warned, be warned. It’s a risk. Should anyone have an ulterior mission for being in camp. Be warned, it’s a dreadful place.

“How dreadful is this place. This is none other but the house of God and the gate of heaven.

“I waited to give you this message before blessing you to go for the night. See it and look away. And don’t try it yourself.”

In-Fighting: 2 Taliban leaders missing ‘due to disputes at Kabul palace’

Two Taliban leaders have been reported missing following a major row at the presidential palace in Kabul following a dispute over the formation of the new government, sources have revealed.

An argument broke out between the Taliban’s co-founder Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar and Khalil ur-Rahman Haqqani, the minister of refugees in the current government and a prominent leader of the US designated terrorist organisation Haqqani network, sources told BBC Pashto.

According to a Taliban source, the two exchanged strong words while their supporters clashed with each other nearby.

The news of an internal rift comes as speculation has been mounting over the disappearance of the Islamist group’s two top figures, supreme leader Mullah Haibatullah Akhundzada and deputy prime minister Mr Baradar -from public view.

Baradar was also absent from the ministerial delegation that met with Qatari foreign minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani in Kabul on Sunday – an occasion he would usually have attended.

The Taliban has denied both the reports of rift and rumours as “baseless propaganda.”

Baradar, who was one of the co-founders of the group and headed the Taliban’s political office, was tipped to be the next prime minister by Taliban officials. But instead he was made first deputy to interim prime minister Mullah Hassan Akhund.

Baradar was also the first Taliban leader to communicate directly with then US president Donald Trump in 2020 and signed the Doha agreement in February 2020. He is considered a “moderate” within the leadership.

It is said that the arguments took place in Kabul as Baradar was unhappy about the make up of the new cabinet and there was disagreement over who should take credit for their victory in Afghanistan.

Baradar reportedly wanted to put emphasis on the diplomatic efforts, for which he was largely responsible, while the Haqqani group placed more emphasis on the military victory that paved the way for the takeover.

The Haqqani network is designated a foreign terrorist organisation (FTO) by the US, and its head, Sirajuddin Haqqani, has been given the position of acting interior minister despite the FBI placing a $10m bounty on his head.

The network is linked to some of the worst attacks in Afghanistan against foreign forces and the Afghan government.

Commercial Sex Worker Nabbed for Kissing a Teen Boy

24-year-old Fiona Murewa is a tenant at the 15-year-old boy’s family home, and was nabbed by the teen’s grandmother after being spotted in a compromising position with the minor.

Upon being queried by his grandmother, the boy said he was allegedly seduced by Murewa and fell for the trap. He also claimed that Murewa who would walk about in a revealing skimpy skirt when his grandmother is not home, kept pushing him to have sex with her.

The teen’s grandmother reported the matter to police, leading to Murewa’s arrest. Bulawayo deputy police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Nomalanga Msebele confirmed the arrest, adding that Murewa was charged with indecent assault when she appeared before Western Commonage resident magistrate Shepherd Mnjanja.

She said;

“I can confirm that we arrested a 24-year-old female for indecent assault. We would like to urge members of the community never to trust a relative or a tenant to the extent of leaving him or her with a child.”

Murewa was remanded in custody by Magistrate Mnjanja till September 20.

Touching story: Man Reunites with His Mom 33 Years after Adoption

A mother has reunited with the son she gave up for adoption almost four decades later.

Melanie Pressley says she spent more than three decades wondering about the son she put up for adoption so he could grow up in a better home.

Pressley gave birth to Vossler in 1988 at the age of 18 in Canton, Ohio. Not being able to care for him financially, she found an adoption agency that would later connect her son to a  household with two parents.

Emotional story of how mother reunites with son she gave up for adoption 33 years ago thanks to DNA test

Melanie Pressley’s sister Lee Ann Dewey asked a nurse if she could hold Greg Vossler a day after he was born in 1988. She snapped a picture of him that day and it was all Pressley was left with for 33 years.

Since the parents who adopted her kid did a ‘closed adoption’ (closed adoption means you don’t know the new parents of the child ), all Pressley was left with was the single photograph of her newborn son her sister took.

Ever since, Pressley says she began a journey to find her son.

Her quest was finally answered when she took a DNA test from 23andMe, which suggested a genetic match to her firstborn son – Greg Vossler.

“You go through a mourning period and yet live the rest of your life mourning,” Pressley told Fox News, when recalling the years she spent without her son.

Emotional story of how mother reunites with son she gave up for adoption 33 years ago thanks to DNA test

Vossler, now grown and aged 33, of Winchester, Virginia, later learned he was adopted and says he grew up wondering about his origins.

After he became a father himself, he opted to take a DNA test in 2018 to learn about his genetics since he couldn’t point to any medical history from his biological family.

“Everything checked out, but in the back of my mind, [23andMe] always suggests new DNA relatives,” Vossler said to Fox News.

He went on, “I was like, ‘You never know. Maybe one of these lesser connections will lead to something significant.’”

Emotional story of how mother reunites with son she gave up for adoption 33 years ago thanks to DNA test

Pressley received a 23andMe gift card from her daughter Rachel as a “birthday-Mother’s Day combo,” Pressley said.

While she didn’t know it at the time, Pressley said her daughter purchased the DNA test hoping it would connect her to the son she longed to know more about. Instead of telling her directly, Pressley’s daughter cited the DNA test’s health report as the driving factor.

“I lost a mother to lung cancer – who had never smoked or drank a day in her life. So, she was selling that to me, saying, ‘Oh my gosh. Then you’ll see if you have any of those genes or if there are any flags,’” Pressley said.

Within days, the DNA test matched Pressley and Vossler as potential relatives, Pressley said.

Pressley went on to message him the second she realized it was an option on the website, she added.

Pressley said she first asked him his age and when Vossler’s response confirmed the June 17 birthday she had embedded in her memory, Pressley explained that she believed she is his birth mother.

“His adoptive mother had written me a letter a couple of months after he was born. And she had said that when he is old enough, she will tell him [that he was adopted],” Pressley said.

Pressley and Vossler later exchanged mails and phone numbers and started sharing text messages. The pair finally met in person June 2021 at Pressley’s home in Wadsworth, Ohio.

Following their emotional reunion, Vossler met Pressley’s husband, his half-brother and two half-sisters – while Pressley met Vossler’s wife and two sons.

“Life has a funny way of giving you what you need and not necessarily what you want. Sometimes those wants and needs do match up, but sometimes you don’t realize what you actually need until the future,” Vossler said.

“Melanie’s family coming into my life at this point, has been a blessing. It’s kind of re-ignited some passions and excitement.”

Pressley said that before she took her 23andMe test, she feared that her son might not want contact, but after seeing how it’s worked out, she thinks other separated families could benefit from reaching out if they choose to.

“After finding him, I felt like my heart was just whole again,” Pressley said. “Becoming older, you kind of become a little wiser, but there is no shame in giving somebody up for adoption. There are loving couples out there that cannot have children that would love to raise a child.”

She went on, “I’m telling you, if you could meet Greg, he was given a life beyond my belief. He was raised with manners. He was raised how you would dream. It’s just unbelievable.”

Vossler said he believes their story is much like a fairytale come true.

“It’s just a blessing beyond blessings. It really is,” he said. “If I could share one piece of advice, it would be: Don’t be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God.”

Public Opinion: What do you look out for before choosing your life partner? (Video)

Choosing a life partner is the most important decision you will ever make – far more crucial than choosing a job, house or group of friends. All the decisions you make will be together, you’ll have to sleep next to them every night and you’ll still have to love them when you’re both old and wrinkly.

Yahoo Yahoo: Hoteliers are helping Online Scammers – EFCC Says

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has warned hotel owners across the country to be wary of allowing internet fraudsters to congregate or hibernate around their facilities.

The Commission gave the warning on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 on the heels on an operation by the Ibadan Zonal Command of the agency that led to the arrest of 56 suspected internet fraudsters in Abeokuta, Ogun state.

The suspects include: Garfar Olamide Taiwo, Fadimaye Habeeb, Badmus Idris, Samuel Victor, Seun Fuad, Alli Isaac, Oyeleke Mubarak, Bolu Soetan, Koleosho Eniola, Saheed Abidemi, Olaewe Tosin, Ayedun Idowu, Oniyitan Ayomide, Akinlabi Precious, Gbadebo Sultan, Adeyemi Habeeb, Balogun Hassan, Sulaimon Ayub Damilare, Akinsola Usman,

Others are; Ajibola Femi Sodiya, Ridwan Alani, Olusesi Lanre, Eniatimo Oludare, Taiwo Opeyemi, Akindele Kabiru Johnson Hammed, Idowu Gabriel, Adekanmi Adejumo, Peter Babatunde, Okeowo Sunday, Abudu Habeeb, Sabair Rasaq, Ademuyiwa Basit, Toriola Opeyemi, Babayode Abiola, Agbaje Habeeb, Sorinola Oluwatobiloba, Abiodun Elegbede, Kayode Daniel ,Lawal Alabi, Oyewole Korede, Aberuagba Gafar, Adekunle Emmanuel, Okunade Azeez, and Ojediran Sodiq.

They were apprehended at their hideouts which happened to be popular hotels in the ancient city. The operation which was based on verified intelligence backed by weeks of surveillance was nearly frustrated by the hotel owners who employed various antics, including shutting down power supply, to enable some of the suspects to escape arrest.

A statement released by the agency says despite the lack of cooperation by the hotel owners, “the operatives demonstrated professionalism in ensuring that no one was hurt nor property damaged during the operations, contrary to the narrative in a section of the media.”

Nevertheless, the action of the hoteliers amounts to deliberate sabotage and obstruction of law enforcement officers, an offence punishable by Section 38 (2) (b) of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (Establishment) Act, 2004.

”The Commission has observed a worrying pattern of cold complicity by hospitality entrepreneurs who appear to be hands-in-gloves with suspected fraudsters by housing them over long spells and making internet facilities available to them.

While the argument is being made in certain quarters that hoteliers as business people have no means of determining who a fraudster is before allowing them to lodge in their facilities that position runs counter to the law.

Section 3 of the Advance Fee Fraud And Other Related Offences Act, 2006 provides for a prison term of between five and 15 years without option of fine for any person who permits his premises to be used for any offence under the Act.

EFCC will therefore not tolerate situations where hotel owners or managers not only permit fraudsters to use their facilities but also deliberately shield them from arrest by frustrating law enforcement on such premises.

If the hoteliers are not enablers of the alleged crimes, as some have demonstrated by offering information to the Commission, they are under obligation to cooperate with law enforcement officers carrying out their lawful duties. To act otherwise would tantamount to willingly becoming enablers to fraud.”the statement from the agency read in part

Meanwhile, ten exotic cars, dozens of mobile phones, laptops and several incriminating documents were recovered from the suspected fraudsters arrested in Abeokuta. They will be arraigned in court as soon as the investigation is concluded.

Terrorism: ISWAP leader, Abu Musab Al-Barnawi reportedly killed

Leader of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), Abu Musab Al-Barnawi has been reportedly killed.

Daily Trust reported that the vicious leader of the terrorist group was killed in the last week of August in Borno state.

Read the report below…

Al-Barnawi was the son of Boko Haram founder, Mohammed Yusuf who was also killed by security forces in 2009 when he launched a war against the Nigerian state. Al-Barnawi was announced as the leader of Islamic State (IS) militant group’s West African affiliate, Boko Haram in 2016.

Prior to this, late Abubakar Shekau was Boko Haram’s leader following the death of Al-Barnawi’s father. His dislodgement in 2016 heralded the rise of the relatively young Al-Barnawi as ISWAP leader and at the same time, the split of the terrorist group into two factions.

Al-Barnawi who was reportedly trained by ISIS for years ahead of his ascension to power, was also said to have been chosen as leader of the group to punish Shekau who reportedly “violated all known norms” and to also retain the confidence of Boko Haram fighters who were loyal to his father, Yusuf, amid threats from other factional groups.

Al-Barnawi sustained vicious attacks especially on military facilities and troops in the Lake Chad region, plotted on how to subdue Shekau, controlled large swathes of territory in Northern Borno, imposed taxes on the local population and earned income from fishing asides from the financial and material support he got from ISIS.

He also established many cells on the Lake Chad islands and surrounding villages from where his fighters launched attacks on Nigeria, Niger and Chad. The late ISWAP was also the person who confirmed Shekau’s death in an audio tape which went viral months ago.

He said in the 28-minute audio;

“He (Shekau) never thought this would happen to him even in his dream, but by the power of God, we destabilised him.

“He became confused and fled to the forest where he spent five days, wandering and stranded. We followed him again where we faced him with heavy fire. He ran away.

“Then our troops called on him to surrender so that he would be punished. We kept assuring him that we were not out to kill him but he was adamant and confused. As a cantankerous fellow, he believed it was better for him to die than to surrender.”

It was reported at that time that Shekau killed himself with a bomb “when he observed that the ISWAP fighters wanted to capture him alive.”

According to Daily Trust, there are two conflicting reports on how he was killed. While some said he was killed by Nigerian troops, others said he died during a rival war within the ISWAP camp.

The first report claimed Al-Barnawi was ambushed by troops who also killed four or five top ISWAP leaders and many other foot soldiers. It was alleged that he was killed around Bula Yobe, a community near the Borno/Yobe states border along Mobbar and Abadam axis that leads to the Lake Chad area.

Another source claimed the ambush took place at a place that could be accessed from Yale, Bama, Banki junction through the Kashimbri-Gulumba.

The other report alleged that a leadership tussle led to the death of Al-Barnawi. Sources told the publication that the battle of supremacy climaxed between August 14 and 26, 2021, and it claimed the lives of many commanders on both sides.

Another source said the other camp had mobilised some terrorists from Central Africa to overthrow Al-Barnawi and they succeeded.

We have also reported that the committee has submitted the report to the Inspector General of Police (IGP). We have also submitted this report and recommendations to the Attorney-General of the Federation for a legal opinion, thereafter, we will take it to Mr President for final consideration.

So, you can see that even though this matter is a local matter here, it has some international connotations.  We have to do some due diligence to ensure that we do the right thing. We have to do some consultations with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Justice before a final decision will be taken.

But what is important is that Nigerians should know that the police management is up and doing and they have done what they are supposed to do. I hope people will wait and see what actions will be taken on this matter”he said

Kyari had been indicted by the FBI in a $1.1 million Internet scam allegedly carried out by a serial internet fraudster, Ramon Abbas, aka Hushpuppi, and four others. The commission had earlier suspended Kyari with effect from July 31 pending the outcome of the police investigation.

Hip POP Battle: Fat Joe and Ja Rule’s VERZUZ Battle Last Night (videos)

Fat Joe and Ja Rule VERZUZ battle took place last night at the theater at Madison Square Garden in New York.

The New York battle had several guests, an intermission, and lots of smack talking between the two rappers even though they had no real beef between them.

The evening kicked off in party mode and dance hits from the ‘80s including “Candy Girl” by New Edition, “You Called me and Told Me” by Jeff Redd, “Don’t be Cruel” by Bobby Brown, and “Remember the Time” by Michael Jackson set the tone for the crowd.

Technician the DJ changed the vibe by kicking off his set with jams from Biggie Smalls, JAY-Z, Styles P, Fabolous, Nas, Wu-Tang and more New York legends. He even played some 50 Cent tracks, a move suggested to be targeted at Ja Rule as the rapper is his arch-enemy.

Terror Squad’s Fat Joe took the stage first before Murder Inc.’s Ja Rule brought the energy in return.

While Joe taunted Ja for his current relevance by asking “Where you been the last ten years?”, Ja maintained that his short run in the spotlight still eclipsed Joe’s multi-decade track record of hit-making.

Both rappers took fans back to their breakout hits. Fat Joe dusted off “Flow Joe” from his 1993 debut, and Ja Rule reached back for his 2000 Grammy-nominated “It’s Murda” featuring DMX and JAY-Z. After he played “Can I Get a What What,” Joe called him out for all the features with Hov.

The first special guest was the first lady of Terror Squad: Remy Ma who performed her verse on “Ante Up (Remix)”. She rocked the stage in a yellow leopard print cropped bubble jacket and matching hot pants. While Ja Rule was rapping along, Remy took a shot at him right in his face.

As the battle went on, it became clear that the terror squad star’s strength was in his high profile collaborations and he also bragged about the artists he put on (DJ Khaled, Big Pun) and how rich they are.

When Fat Joe laid claim to songs like “Still Not a Player”, Ja pushed back by saying “That’s not your record!” Joe fired back by saying “I was the executive producer”, to which Ja interjected with “That don’t count!”.

When Joe teased Ja for doing more singing than rapping, Ja reveled in the acknowledgement that he was ahead of his time. Ja said “I’m the singing rapper! I started this shit! You getting bodied by a singing rapper!“

The terror squad star also made frequent references to Ja Rule’s disastrous Fyre Festival, mocking the “Baloney sandwiches” from infamous reports about the festival’s catering.

As Ja Rule’s DJ began to play “Put It On Me,” featured artists Lil’ Mo and Vita joined the stage for in-person features for the first time in almost two decades for a timeless Murder Inc. reunion.

When Fat Joe tried to cut off Ja Rule by saying “Yesterday’s hits are not today’s hits, the Queens rapper reached out to the crowd and said “When I say hits, you say classics!”

Tensions got high when Ja played “Rainy Dayz” by Mary J. Blige. Joe talked through the track, but as a counter, when Joey pulled out “Another Round,” Ja assumed his role as the first “singing rapper” and accompanied his opponent with the vocals.

Nelly was called in as Fat Joe’s reinforcement and they both performed “Get It Poppin’” from his 2005 album, All Or Nothing. Scott Storch who produced the song was in the Instagram comments reminding fans that he’s the GOAT.

As Princess of Hip Hop and R&B, Ashanti took the stage, fans went wild. Donned in all black leather, the Long Island doll stole the show as she tipped around the stage in thigh-high laced heels and jet black shades following her ex-boyfriend’s appearance. Fat Joe also pulled her in for a performance of their collaboration What’s Luv”.

Fat Joe later brought Remy Ma and Ashanti back out to the stage, saying he got them something special. He handed them both huge gift which he asked them to open. When the boxes were opened on stage, the two female superstars showed off two brand new Birkins.

Wrapping up the battle,  both artists brought their entourage to perform anthem “New York” from Ja Rule’s 2000 album R.U.L.E. Fat Joe was featured on the song and past Verzuz performer Jadakiss surprisingly joined them. With one arm around the other, Fat Joe and Ja Rule ended the battle by saying “Yesterday’s price is not today’s price!”

The showed pull in over 400k fans on Instagram. The comments section was quite lively with appearances from Diddy, Khaled, and many many more.

When 50 Cent’s beef with Ja Rule was brought up in the Instagram comment section, Murder Inc. founder Irv Gotti took shots by writing “All y’all talking that 50 shit. All good. He got beat up stabbed up. Shot up. And sued us. That’s all I’m gonna say. Your hero ain’t what you think he is. Period. And Facts.”

Fakeness: YOUTUBER, Jordan Cheyenne Accidentally Keeps Camera Rolling, EXPOSING Her ‘Fake crying’ lectures (Video)

A YouTube star has deleted her channel with half a million subscribers after accidentally sharing a video of herself coaching her crying son to pose for the camera.

Jordan Cheyenne, 30, shared a video titled “We are heartbroken” as she spoke about how her puppy had been diagnosed with pavovirus, a condition which can be fatal to unvaccinated dogs.

The California-based vlogger is seen in the clip pulling her son Christian towards her so they can pose for a video thumbnail.

“Come closer,” she tells him as they sit in a car. “Put your head right here.”

She pulls him in and rests his head on her shoulder, telling him: “Act like you’re crying.”

YouTuber Jordan Cheyenne deletes 500k plus channel after accidentally sharing a video where she was teaching her son how to cry on camera (Video)

“I am crying,” the visibly uncomfortable youngster tells her.

She holds one hand up at her face, looking visibly upset as the young boy stares into the camera.

She pulls a crying face and tells her son: “Go like this for the video.”

She continues to coach him on how to cry, telling him to hold his hand up to his face and make crying noises.

“Let them see your mouth,” she instructs him.

She tells him to look at her, then to look at the camera as she pulls a string of poses.

She then forgot to edit out the part of her coaching the boy and posted it on her YouTube page alongside the main video.

One person who saw the video on Jordan’s YouTube channel shared it on Twitter, writing: “this is so DISTURBING what is wrong with mom vloggers omfg”

They added: “everyone keeps asking the same questions, this is about the puppy they just bought having parvo, the son IS crying. real tears. shes forcing him to “fake cry” for views, it was accidentally uploaded, she forgot to edit this part, she removed the vid & posted an ‘apology’”

Since the video was posted she has been receiving backlash on her YouTube page and Twitter.

Following backlash, Jordan said that she would stop including her son in her YouTube videos and has now deleted her channel so she could focus on her son Christian’s “health and wellbeing”

She said in a statement: “Getting completely offline, canceling all videos and monetization, and prioritizing my child are all I care about.

“I’m disgusted and horrified at what I did and there is absolutely no excuse. It’s terrible on so many levels. I love my child more than anything and will regret this moment forever.”

Jordan also posted a follow-up video in an attempt to explain her behaviour. She titled it “I am immensely disappointed in myself”.

“In the ending of the video, I was so emotionally worn out… I had christian on my shoulder and I was like ‘come pose for the thumbnail with me’ after the video… I shouldn’t have done that.

“I wish I could show us at the vet crying and being so emotional with everything that happened. But then if I did that, you know what people will say? ‘Why are you filming your son crying? Why are you filming the emotional moment?'”

She added: “Me trying to get that thumbnail was just so wrong and such poor judgement of me, but that doesn’t condone bullying and harassment.”

Teen boys plan to carry out school shooting foiled by their teacher

Two teenage boys’  who plotted to carry out a school shooting has been foiled by their teachers.

The teenagers identified as Phillip Byrd, 14, and Connor Pruett, 13, planned to carry out the shooting that would mirror the 1999 Columbine massacre at the Harns Marsh Middle School near Fort Myers in Florida.

Their plan was busted afterstudents told a teacher that one of their classmates had a gun in their bag.  Administration staff were alerted, and while the gun was not found after a search was conducted, a map showing marks where security cameras were placed was found.

Teenage boys

Lee County Police were then alerted and detectives discovered that Bryd and Pruett had been thoroughly studying the Columbine shooting, attempting to learn how to build a pipe bomb and researching how to buy guns on the black market. Police also searched their homes and found ammunition, guns, and several knives.

Byrd’s mother Carrie Tuller broke down in tears as she defended her son when he appeared in court on Sunday September 12. She said:

“He’s just a little boy. He didn’t think this was really serious. He didn’t think they were serious.”

Teenage boys

On Sunday morning, Philip Byrd and Connor Pruitt had their first court appearance. They were sentenced to 21 days in juvenile detention without speaking to the school or one another.

The sentencing came after they underwent a mental health evaluation before being taken into custody and charged with conspiracy to commit a mass shooting.

They were also ordered not to have no contact with school staff or students, and are required to stay off school grounds. Their next appearance in court is on September 27.

Teenage boys

In a news conference, Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno said:

“Detectives learned the students took an interest in the Columbine High School shooting.

“They were extensively studying to learn more about the incident and the shooters.

“Detectives also learned the students were attempting to learn how to construct pipe bombs and how to purchase firearms on the black market.

“I’m certain that my team of dedicated deputies and detectives acted promptly, investigated thoroughly and prevented a very violent and dangerous act from being carried out.

“This could have been the next Parkland massacre, but we stopped them in the planning stages.”

Marceno added that the teenagers were “well known” to police as officers had responded to calls to their homes nearly 80 times in total.”

North Korea Says It Tested Long-Range Cruise Missiles

North Korea says it successfully test-fired new long-range cruise missiles over the weekend, developed by the country’s engineers.

According to a Monday, September 13 report published by the country’s state-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), the country’s Academy of Defense Science successfully test-fired the missiles on September 11 and 12, and that the weapons had been in development for two years.

The weapons demonstrate “another effective deterrence means for more reliably guaranteeing the security of our state and strongly containing the military maneuvers of the hostile forces against the DPRK,” the agency said, using the acronym for North Korea’s official name, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

The North Korean launch announcement comes just as South Korea’s top nuclear envoy heads to Japan to discuss North Korea with US and Japanese officials on Monday and Tuesday. China’s Foreign Minister, Wang Yi, is scheduled to visit South Korea this week as well.

This missile test was the most significant from North Korea since US President Joe Biden took office in January.

According to KCNA, the new missiles traveled for 7,580 seconds along oval and figure-eight flight orbits in the air above the territorial land and waters of North Korea and hit targets 1,500 kilometers (930 miles) away.

The US and it’s Ally, South Korea are looking into the launch claims, officials in both countries told CNN.

“Cruise missiles are often detected after the tests are conducted for their low flight altitudes. North Korea had conducted two cruise missile tests already this year, but we did not disclose them as we do not disclose all cruise missile tests we detect,” a South Korean Defense Ministry official also said.

The US military’s Indo-Pacific Command said in a Monday statement;

“This activity highlights DPRK’s continuing focus on developing its military program and the threats that poses to its neighbors and the international community,” the Indo-Pacific Command said in a statement.

Unlike ballistic missiles, cruise missiles are propelled by jet engines and they are harder to detect.
