The BUSINESS called Nigeria

Sà á bí olóògùn-ún ti wí.” Meaning, ‘invoke it exactly as the maker of the charm instructed’.
To understand Nigeria, you need to appreciate where it came from. In 1900, Britain officially assumed responsibility for the Administration of the whole of what we now know as Nigeria from the Niger Company. And then, gradually over the years, British protectorates were established throughout the territory.

In 1914, the protectorates were amalgamated into one Nigeria. Actually, there’s one additional detail that bears mentioning. In order to take over the territories from the Niger Company, the British Government paid 865, 000 pounds. A huge amount in 1900. So let’s establish a simple truth. The British didn’t travel halfway across the world just to spread democracy. Nigeria started off as a business deal.

For them, between a company and a government. Incidentally, the Niger Company is still around today, only it is known by a different name, Unilever.

But that’s another story.

Ay!
They wanna tell you o, tell you o, tell you o
Another story o, story o, story o
Since 1960 them dey play us, why o
Shey, we go dey cry forevermore o
E dey pain me, ga-ga o (Ahh)
Burna Boy’s Another Story (African Giant)

What is balanced in a nation that is sorely divided across religious lines, yet richly blessed but abused by her leaders such that followership is blinded by the divide and rule tactics bequeathed to us by our colonial masters? I ask 80% of my readers today, how has a Muslim presidency or a Christian presidency, benefited us, Nigeria is worse off, Boko Haram is wreaking havoc, kidnappers, who are graduates, are doing theirs in the south, bandits are doing theirs. Nigeria is a business, one big business!

We have become so blinded by the fact that when we fill forms one must either be Christian/Muslim and some nasty variables, it has become ingrained, so even an armed robber that is filling a form must necessarily identify with one faith and ethnicity, these indices are as useless as they come. With all those Christians in the parastatals are they any better as agencies, or should I throw up more controversies, like is a Christian leader better than a Muslim leaders, who steals more, are we not the same Nigerians that voted Abiola enmass despite his faith? Well, some answers to my postulations are like trade secrets, na so business dey be

What is the problem with Nigeria, who is the problem, today I dare say that the problem with Nigeria, is Nigerians, part of our problem, is simply put, ‘us’, ‘we’, ‘you’, ‘them’, ‘they’. The problem with Nigeria actually is you and me! A business gone wrong, trust issues, no profit, or profit reserved only for a few.

Nigeria ideally is one of the best places to live in, it is not a Police State like so-called Western Democracies. In Nigeria I can urinate anywhere and not get fined or arrested, I can get a ladder and climb the electricity poles and effect a change of power phases, that is if the problem is not from the nearby power transformer which anybody can repair with dry wood. What a business?

Many people for good reasons had seen in Mr Buhari some form of change. A lot of us had lost hope in the system, the structure, the leadership, but with each passing day, it is becoming obvious that Nigeria may be just an empty plastic cup, to light to hold a cup of coffee cold or hot, because the terms of business terms were not well outlined, partnership not properly negotiated.

We are running a business that is devoid of purposeful leadership, the business called Nigeria does not have leadership and nor a people that have collectively gone about bringing economic prosperity, industrial-strength, intellectual pride and dynamism. Our business is a circus of both leadership and citizenry.

What kind of business can thrive without fast-paced infrastructural development, rapid push in human resource development, healthcare delivery, with approximately over 50,000 graduates expected out yearly, and only 3% possessing a chance of a job, with time the remaining 97% slowly becoming an unemployable lot with redundant qualifications and no form of entrepreneurial education.

The business called Nigeria, lacks education, health and development with all the wealth, we are breeding terrorists, frustrated young men, sad mothers, senior citizens that daily curse the business because we have refused to give them their dividends, children without hope for the future in light of public school utilities and abductions.

This is the business called Nigeria, the rich, poor, and everybody cries and laughs almost at the same time; the difference is the swing of the pendulum. The Nigerian big man makes a law, those wanting to be Nigerian or already big men proceed immediately to look for a way to break the law; he explores loopholes and escape clauses, like the Immunity clause used for stealing.

Ordinary Citizens would do it their own way, they would jump queues for no excuse, they would do u-turns on an expressway, stop in the middle of the road to say hello to a long lost friend without parking.

The pain of this essay, despite all there are those in this business, Nigerians in their millions that want to be good for the right reasons. Those Nigerians, not easily understood because they will not give bribes, all their actions are in line with tradition, society’s good norms and rationality. They largely are old now, although a few young ones too, and most times reside in rural areas, though a few too, stay in urban areas.

They are generally good and untribalized, they believe in the principles of live and let live. These Nigerians are neither the bottom power women nor the moneybag men like you and me. They strive daily to remain patriotic and committed to the Nigerian business despite the reality, they are disciplined and are hardworking, and they battle the stark reality that as patient dogs they may never have any bone left.

These sets of Nigerians suffer from the Nigerian experiment because of the larger majority’s inability to curb greed, inability for me and you to be fair and rational towards other people’s perspectives, opinions, positions and interests.

My continuous inability to make sacrifices for the common good, and your unwillingness to respect our institutions means that if others do not stand as a people and resolve to fight for what rightly belongs to Nigeria, the problem with Nigeria will continue.

The mutual distrust is a stench, we are all living a pretence, census figures is a faith/ethnic issue, once a list is out we are looking at who is Muslim/Christian and from Kano or Imo. We are in trouble, BIG trouble, as there’s no way out of this entire business of phobic Christianization/Islamization.

Speed trains all over the world, the locomotive is it in Nigeria until we realize, what really our problems are, the churches and mosques would increase and so will our woes, are we really ready to move beyond our mediocrity of fasting/praying on issues mentality, and know that, the husband of a mother is a father if the charm is not administered as instructed if the terms of the business are not discussed, negotiated and adhered to, from one story to another and—Only time will tell

APC, the ruling party, gives conditions before it can fully accept Femi Fani-Kayode

Nigeria’s ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC)  has listed conditions former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, must meet to be fully accepted and integrated into the party.

According to the Director-General of the APC Progressive Governors Forum (PGF), Dr Salihu Moh Lukman, FFK will need to register from his ward, identify with the party chieftains in his state and more importantly demonstrate tolerance and respect for opinions of leaders and members of the party if he is to be fully accepted in the party.

The PGF DG, in a statement he issued in Abuja on Sunday, September 19, also  revealed that party members are angry with the red-carpet reception President Muhammadu Buhari gave to FFK when he decamped from the PDP to APC.

The statement titled: ‘APC’s high-profile membership recruitment and issues for 2023’, read: “A major challenge of high-profile political party membership recruitment, like that of Fani-Kayode, is the issue of getting those recruited to be accountable. How can the party ensure that newly recruited high-profile members moderate themselves such that it is the party that control them and not the other way round?

“While it is easy to control people that are already constraint by legal provisions on account of statutory responsibilities such as governors and legislators, individuals like Fani-Kayode, who are only responsible to themselves, would be difficult to manage. It is therefore important that APC members prepare to engage Fani-Kayode to ensure that he is accountable to our leaders, our party organs and by extension, Nigerians.

“A reformed Fani-Kayode should be an accountable personality, both to the party and to Nigerians. On no account should Fani-Kayode ever imagine that he has come to APC to conduct himself uncontrollably. He must be accountable to our leadership and all our party structures.

“He must respect himself and abide by the provisions of the party constitution and its manifesto. To support him, copies of the APC constitution and manifesto must be made available to him immediately.

“There are also issues related to getting him to work with other party members especially in relation to addressing national challenges. The problem of managing Nigeria’s diversity, for instance, require respect and tolerance. That Fani-Kayode has joined APC and has made statements to the effect that he is committed to a united Nigeria must be demonstrated based on respect for all Nigerians irrespective of differences.

“A major test will be the extent to which Fani-Kayode is able to demonstrate tolerance and respect for opinions of leaders and members of the party. This doesn’t mean he shouldn’t disagree. But he must express his disagreement with utmost respect. On no account must he promote divisive campaigns, in whatever forms or manner. Doing so will suggest that he is still the old venomous Fani-Kayode.

“Once that become the case, party members must be ready to engage him including campaigns to discipline him as provided in the constitution of the APC. Therefore, his membership of the party must take root in his Ward in Osun State, and he must subordinate himself to his Ward leadership,” he noted in the statement.

Giving other conditions, he wrote: “For Fani-Kayode to talk of the unity of Nigeria at this time, shortly after he supported and promoted secessionist campaigns of Nnamdi Kanu and Sunday Igboho is a remarkable departure. However, recognising such a departure shouldn’t be interpreted to mean that we should blindly trust Fani-Kayode.

“What is required in the circumstance is that our leaders must test the commitment of Fani-Kayode to reform himself. The first test is that Fani-Kayode should be reminded that politics is local. Coming from Osun State, his commitment to reform himself should start with getting him to integrate himself with APC leaders back in Osun State.

“At this early stage of his membership of APC, beyond the photo show with our dear President Buhari and the Chairman of the APC Caretaker Committee, Fani-Kayode should have a photo gallery with images of him uniting with Chief Bisi Akande, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, Governor Gboyega Oyetola and other party leaders in his home state, Osun. In fact, part of this test would have been met had Governor Oyetola and Ogbeni Aregbesola, at the minimum, been part of the welcome reception at the Presidential Villa last Thursday. Had that happened, the raging controversy following the admission of Fani-Kayode into the party would have been minimised.

“The photo gallery should also cover images with leaders from the South-West. Fani-Kayode should take every step to reciprocate the gesture of our leaders by demonstrating that he is ready to reform himself. Some of the controversy he has already created makes it doubtful whether he want to reform himself at all. For instance, when he claimed that he facilitated the defection of some Governors that joined the APC from PDP, suggests that he is still his old venomous self.

“Only people with very small minds could make such statement and only gullible people can believe them. The claim that three additional Governors – Bauchi, Oyo and Enugu – are on their way to join the APC, also falls in the same category of small mind talking to gullible people. If Fani-Kayode truly want the party to succeed in recruiting anybody, including governors, he should quietly support the leadership. We have a very competent leadership that can handle that responsibility, which is why his admission into the party succeeded in the first place,” he wrote.

Israel might have used a remote-controlled gun to assassinate Iran’s nuclear scientist – New report claims

A new report has claimed that Israel’s top spy agency Mossad assassinated top Iranian nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh on November 27th, 2020 using a remotely-controlled, Artificial Intelligence-assisted machine gun.

According to the new report by The New York Times, Israel reportedly mounted the gun on a pickup truck by the side of the road and, when Fakhrizadeh’s car approached had a distant operator fire the gun using a satellite link.

The attack was precise, but didn’t kill Fakhrizadeh’s wife, and may not have used facial recognition to assist with aiming as unnamed Iranian officials said.

While Israel purportedly used the Artificial intelligence to compensate for the satellite system’s lag and gun recoil, Israel Mossad operatives identified Fakhrizadeh by staging a decoy car with a camera to force a U-turn and get a clear image.

Israel reportedly used a remote-controlled gun to assassinate?Iran

Neither Israel nor Iran has publicly confirmed the use of a robotic gun, although The Times’ story is based in part on the Fakhrizadeh family’s statements to reporters.

After the assassination, the Israeli operatives exploded the truck in a bid to destroy the evidence, but the equipment remained intact (if inoperable). That was how Iranian investigators determined the nature of the attack .

The remote gun was supposedly difficult to set up as Israel reportedly smuggled parts in very gradually.

Israel kelt agents out of harm’s way and avoided raising alarms like a drone. If the gun had been destroyed as planned, Iran might have been unable to determine the assassination method.

With this report, espionage might take a new turn as secret agents can now use robotics to take out targets with little risk to themselves, little warning to enemies and a greater chance of deniability.

Unvaccinated Players will be Banned from Next Year’s World Cup – Qatar

2022 World Cup host nation, Qatar is demanding that all fans and footballers attending the footballing ceremony are completely vaccinated.

The Gulf nation has already revealed that anyone attending the tournament next November will have to be doubled jabbed and has taken up the same position with players, according to a report by The Athletic.

Qatar, who have already administered more than 4.6 million vaccines so far, roughly 82 per cent of their population, are in discussions with FIFA and medical authorities in efforts to reach an amicable solution with footballers union who still have footballers who have refused to be vaccinated.

The Athletic claim a number of options are being considered, including unvaccinated players having to report negative tests every three days.

The report adds that Qatar aims to provide one million doses to spectators ahead of the tournament.

Just last month August,Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admitted ‘not all of the players have been double-jabbed’, adding ‘I have encouraged them to take the vaccination but you cannot force anyone to do that.’

Meanwhile, Qatar have also had to have painstaking talks about the logistics around Covid ahead of the Arab Cup, which starts on November 30 and will be used as test event for next year’s World Cup.

For that tournament, fans will need to be fully vaccinated to attend but players will not be required to follow suit.

2 British Police Officers ‘knacking’ hard while on duty

Two police officers identified as Sgt Molly Edwards and PC Richard Paton have been exposed for ignoring call-outs to a hospital and a burglary, to have sex in their police car while on duty.

The Sun reported that the affair between the officers who are both married with kids, was exposed after suspicious bosses bugged the vehicle.

A disciplinary panel was told that 39-year-old Paton was heard moaning “aww, let’s just get naked”, after an urgent 4.51am radio request for assistance at an electrical store burglary.

It was also learnt that they ignored a 4:17am call to take two victims of a serious assault outside a nightclub to a hospital, even though they were parked up 15 minutes away having sex.

The Independent disciplinary board chairman, John Bassett said in an adjudication report;

“It is evident from the transcripts of what occurred after the call that sexual activity continued.”

The panel heard secret recordings in the patrol car captured “verbal expressions of sexual fantasies” by the two officers, who were based in the Surrey Heath area. The report said their sexual activity “clearly involved the removal of some of their clothing, kissing,” as well as the exposure of her breasts and him pleasuring her.

The officers who have denied having full intercourse resigned from Surrey Police before last month’s tribunal, but it still went ahead in their absence. They were found guilty of four allegations of gross misconduct which were proven, and the panel said they would have been sacked if still in the job.

The first count alleges that they “engaged in sexual activity whilst on duty in a police vehicle in a public space” between June and September 2019.

Reacting to the allegation, Molly Edwards insisted sexual activity only took place over two days while the car was bugged.

Commenting on the affair in her resignation letter, Molly said;

“It wasn’t always sexual in that sometimes it could be just holding hands.

“I enjoyed the time we had together, but became aware what we were doing was wrong and would say to him we should put a stop to it.”

The panel concluded there was not enough evidence to prove the affair had been going on for three months, as alleged, but ruled it started at least three weeks beforehand.

The second charge referred to them failing to attend calls-outs at Frimley Park Hospital and Currys in Woking.

While Edwards claimed they could not attend the hospital as they had dealt with the nightclub assaults earlier with a risk of evidence being contaminated, the panel ruled they did not want sex to be interrupted.

The panel held that it is “a serious dereliction of duty” that “would be considered as outrageous” by the public.

Edwards and Paton were thirdly accused of misleading their boss over rumours of the affair and PC Paton was heard making a racist comment about an Asian colleague. Both officers were accused of breaching Standards of Professional Behaviour in respect of discreditable conduct, honesty and integrity.

The panel also noted that Edwards had been an excellent officer and was awarded a Divisional Commendation in 2015 for her “valiant actions” in tackling a violent drunk stealing food from a Guildford restaurant.

US: 2 fake doctors charged with murder after performing an illegal butt lift operation on pornstar

A mother and daughter have been charged with murder in connection to a woman who died after receiving an illegal butt lift operation in Los Angeles, California, police have revealed.

The victim, Karissa Rajpaul, 26, shared a video of herself on social media during the operation, which took place at a private home in the Encino neighborhood in Los Angeles in September 2020, the Los Angeles Police Department told NBC4.

Rajpaul, who moved to LA from South Africa to try and work in the porn industry, received three separate procedures and passed away immediately after the third procedure.

Police have arrested and charged Libby Adame and her daughter, Alicia Gomez, with murder.

“These individuals have no medical training,” Alan Hamilton, LAPD deputy chief, told ABC7.

“They’re not experienced and they’re putting people’s lives at risk.”

Now the police department says it is worried there could be more victims and is encouraging women to come forward.

“As we looked into this investigation, we did find that it is occurring a lot,” Bob Dinlocker, an LAPD detective, told NBC4.

“The internet is filled with these horror stories where they’re cutting the medical grade silicone with the stuff that you would caulk your windows with.”

He said once some of these chemicals – that are not intended for use in humans – hit the bloodstream they attack the heart, the brain, and the kidneys.

LAPD is warning women to avoid these underground procedures, which some people seek out because they are less expensive than having the procedure done by a professional.

Police said Adame and Gomez were charging $3,500 to $4,500 for the butt lift, compared to $10,000 to $15,000 that a board-certified professional would charge, NBC4 reported.

In recent years, Brazilian butt lifts have become increasingly popular and it is the most risky cosmetic surgery procedure.

According to a survey by the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, buttock lifts increased by 77.6% from 2015 to 2019.

A travel agent scams Cristiano Ronaldo about £250K

A travel agent has been accused of cheating Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo out of nearly £250,000.

The 53-year-old, named in Portugal as Maria Silva, also scammed the football star’s super-agent Jorge Mendes out of more than £14,000 and former Man Utd winger Nani out of more than £1,500.

Her wrongdoing culminated in her getting a four-year suspended prison sentence at a court in Porto, Portuguese daily Jornal de Noticias reported on Sunday.

The newspaper revealed dad-of-four Cristiano, 36, was spared having to attend her trial after she made a full confession.

The four-times Ballon D’or winner gave a statement to police after flying to Porto by private jet and meeting up with his lawyer Carlos Osorio de Castro.

Jornal de Noticias exposed  the scandal about greedy Silva’s breach of the trust Cristiano placed in her by giving her his credit card details and pin codes.

The newspaper said the €288,000 she scammed him out of – £245,770 – corresponded to around 200 trips he never made between Portugal and other European countries as well as Europe and Africa and the US.

She reportedly carried out the fraud by getting clients to transfer cash for travel she arranged for them to her personal account instead of the business account of the travel agency she worked for.

She then billed those trips to the accounts of victims like Cristiano Ronaldo, who had given her a ‘virtual’ credit card and pin code, to “fill the hole” in her company’s accounts, the report in Jornal de Noticias said.

The newspaper reported she used the same tactic to rip off the likes of Jorge Mendes, his sports agency Gestifute, Nani and former Portsmouth and Everton footballer Manuel Fernandes.

The fraud cost Fernandes £2,440 and Gestifute £36,000. Silva’s firm Geostar is said to have repaid the fraud victims the money wrongly taken from them and she agreed to pay back monthly compensation to her old employers to avoid going to prison.

Cristiano was targeted between in a three-year period between February 2007 and July 2010 when he was playing for Manchester United first-time round and then Real Madrid following his record £80 million transfer to Spain.

The Portuguese footballer gave the Policia Judiciaria in Porto a statement on June 7 2011 according to Jornal de Noticias.

He is said to have entered the police station via a back door so his presence would go unnoticed.

Maria Silva is understood to have been quizzed by police in October 2013, declining to answer questions put to her by cops but making a full confession in court where she was found guilty of fraud and forgery. It was not made clear how her crimes were uncovered.

The 53-year-old from the northern Portuguese city of Vila Nova de Gaia was convicted of on January 10 2017 by a criminal court in Porto, Jornal de Noticias revealed.

Revealing Cristiano’s former Portugal teammate Simao Sabrosa was among clients who unwittingly transferred cash to her private account instead of a company account as part of her fraud, the paper added: “Afterwards the travel agent had to plug the hole in the firm’s accounts.

“She therefore began to bill those trips to Cristiano Ronaldo, who had an account at Geostar and for practical reasons, handed the agent a virtual credit card and pin code.

Sunday Igboho: We will appeal N20bn damages against DSS – Malami

Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami has said that the federal government will be appealing the judgment of an Oyo State High Court which awarded N20 billion in damages to Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo also known as Sunday Igboho following the invasion of his home by the DSS at about 1:30am on July 1, 2021.

Igboho was awarded the money after his lawyer, Mr Yomi Alliyu (SAN)  had filed a N500 billion fundamental human rights enforcement suit against the AGF, DSS and Director of the DSS in Oyo State over the incident.

Ruling on the case, Justice Ladiran Akintola said the DSS exhibited an unprofessional conduct during the invasion and also violated Igboho’s human rights.

Reacting to the ruling, Malami said efforts are already being made to commence the process of appealing the judgment.

No existence of ‘unreleased sex tape’ with ex-boyfriend Ray J – Kim Kardashian denies

Kim Kardashian has denied the existence of an ‘unreleased sex tape’ with former boyfriend, Ray J.

Her denial comes after Wack 100, the former manager of Ray J claimed there is an unreleased sex tape that is more graphic.

During a recent appearance on the Bootleg Kev podcast, Wack (pictured  below) claimed to have  ‘part two on a laptop’ that was ‘more graphic and better than the first one.’

Kim Kardashian denies existence of

Wack also said he would only give the never-before-seen video to her estranged husband Kanye West.

‘It’s the mother of his children,’ he explained.

Kim has now come out to refute the possibility of an unreleased sextape.

‘The claim that there is an unreleased sex tape is unequivocally false,’ Kim’s attorney Marty Singer told TMZ.

‘It is unfortunate that people make these statements to try and get their 15 minutes of fame.’

Kim filmed a sex tape in 2002 with her then-boyfriend Ray J, which was released into the public domain in 2007, just as Kim and her family were getting ready to launch the first series of their E! reality show.

Kim infamously spoke about the sextape during an early episode of the series when her sister Kourtney Kardashian asked her why she agreed to film the video, and she said: ‘Because I was horny and I felt like it.’

Shooting spree at Russia University leaves 8 people dead and terrified students (photos)

At least eight people have been killed after a gunman attacked a Russian University on Monday morning, September 20.

Shots were heard at Perm State University in Russia’s Ural mountains, where eight were killed and more than ten were wounded.

The attacker, dressed in black was seen walking into the building holding a clearly visible firearm, with reports later saying the shooter had been killed by police.

‘When the people saw the shooter and heard the shots, some managed to leave the building, others locked themselves in classrooms,’ said one eyewitness account.

Many students were seen jumping after climbing out of a second floor window.

The university flashed a message to frightened staff and students saying: ‘If you are currently inside the university, please, try to shut yourself from inside the room, and stay inside.

‘If you are on the campus, please leave if possible. If you are on the way to the university – TURN BACK’

The gunman, named in some reports as Timur Bekmansurov, 18, a student – was later reported to have been overpowered.

In messages sent by the suspect before the siege, he was quoted saying he ‘liked causing pain to people’.

He described himself as ‘unstoppable’.

‘I could have fooled every psychiatrist,’ he said of a test to get his gun license. ‘At least I will feel alive for the last ten minutes of my life,’ he wrote.

‘I detest myself as much as I test all of you.’

He said: ‘I want to leave as much pain in the world as I can so everyone I can’t kill will remember this day forever….

‘I will do all in my power to kill as many as I can.

‘Only a few of you deserve to live.’

Later reports said the shooter had died from police gunshot wounds.

The shooter had been armed with a Turkish-made 12-caliber Huglu rifle. His messages suggest he had been planning a massacre for many months, but only recently decided to carry it out at the university.

“I summoned courage and called back the person who informed me of the sad news to get more details and was told that my four children were also dead. On hearing that, we rushed to Umueze where we met a mammoth crowd including the Nigerian Police and it was there I confirmed that my four children were no more

“Information that I got from one of the surviving relation of the late Sunday Ogba, who happens to be his daughter, said her father brought the Suya and three packets of Juice out of which one was given to my kids to share, the other was given to the man’s children to share while the late Sunday consumed the remaining one with his wife

“She said that after consuming the Suya and Fruit Juice, my children requested for boiled yam which was cooked and equally consumed with red oil by the entire household

“I was told that my second child starting crying, complaining of dizziness and later started vomiting of which the wife of the deceased Sunday cleaned up her vomit. After that, other members of the family started reacting the same way and had to drink palm oil. Mrs Ogba Sunday from what i heard slumped at the passage on her way to take her bath and the following morning it was discovered that members of their family including my children were all dead.”

Hollywood Actress Amy Schumer had her uterus and appendix removed

Actress Amy Schumer has revealed she is recovering from surgery after having her appendix and uterus removed due to complications related to endometriosis.

The 40-year-old comedian and actress who underwent IVF last year in a bid to conceive her second child, revealed her recent procedure in an Instagram video which was filmed by her husband, Chris Fischer.

Schumer said;

“So it’s the morning after my surgery for endometriosis and my uterus is out.

“The doctor found 30 spots of endometriosis that he removed. He removed my appendix because the endometriosis had attacked it. There was a lot of blood in my uterus and I’m sore and I have some like, gas pains.”

She also wrote;

“If you have really painful periods you may have #endometriosis.”

Endometriosis is an often painful condition in which “tissue similar to the tissue that normally lines the inside of the uterus – the endometrium – grows outside the uterus,” according to the Mayo Clinic.

This is not the first time that the comedian has opened up about her endometriosis diagnosis, as Schumer, who welcomed her first child with Fischer in May 2019, during which she suffered with the pregnancy condition hyperemesis gravidarum, revealed that she had “really bad endometriosis and adenomyosis” during an appearance on the What To Expect podcast in August 2020.

Accumulating debt for next generation is criminal – Obasanjo says

Former Nigerian President, Olusegun Obasanjo, has reacted to the incessant borrowing by the Federal government.

Recall that only days ago, President Buhari requested the approval of the National Assembly to borrow $4,054,476,863 and €710 million.

Obasanjo, while speaking to Channels Television in South Africa, said it is criminal to accumulate debt for the next generation to pay.

He said that if the existing debt remains unserviced or unpaid by the current administration, it might become a huge problem for successive governments.

Obasanjo added that borrowing is not a problem, however, he said it would be better if the borrowed funds were used for development and there is a plan or capacity to pay back.

He said: If you want to build a commercial house and you go and borrow money, and you have 50 per cent of your own money and you borrow 50 per cent and in five years, you pay the 50 per cent that you borrowed. That is a wise thing to do. But if you have to go and borrow money for you to be able to feed yourself and your family, that is a stupid thing to do.

“So, if we are borrowing for recurrent expenditure, it is the height of foolery. If we are borrowing for development that can pay itself, that is understandable; then how long will it pay itself? But we are borrowing and accumulating debt for the next generation and the next generation after them, it is criminal, to put it mildly. What are we borrowing for?

“When I came into government and was elected President, we were spending $3.5bn to service debt, and even with that, our quantum of debt was not going down.”

Afghan relatives killed by US drone strike say they want monetary compensation and resettlement in US

The surviving family members of Mr Ahmadi, who was killed by a US drone strike in August after US military intelligence mistakenly took him for an ISIS-K terrorist, say they want the Americans responsible for the tragic mistake  to be taken to court, while also asking for financial compensation and resettlement in the United States or another safe country for the rest of their lives.

Zemari Ahmadi, 43, was killed along with seven children and two adult family members. Before his death Ahmadi was an innocent aid worker that worked for a US company that.
provided protein nutrition to starving Aghan kids.

On Friday night, September 17, U.S. officials acknowledged he did not appear to be connected to ISIS-K terrorists. His fatal mistake, it appeared, was driving a white 1996 Toyota Corolla similar to one intelligence sources claimed was being driven by a known terrorist.

Speaking to the Washington Post, Ahmadi’s 24-year-old stepson Samim Ahmadi said that ‘the situation in Afghanistan is not good’.

He added: ‘Whether in America or another country, we want peace and comfort for our remaining years.

‘Everyone makes mistakes. The Americans cannot bring back our loved ones, but they can take us out of here.’

Ahmadi’s brother Emal, 32, who was just feet away from the remains of the car after the blast, said: ‘We didn’t have any money to bury our relatives. We had to borrow funds.’

And while he said he is ‘happy’ the Pentagon has acknowledged the miscalculations that led to his brother’s death, ‘forgiveness’ is too strong a word.

Family members said before the August 29 drone strike, Ahmadi and his brother had applications processing for special visas to enter the U.S. because of their work with American companies.

Relatives of innocent Afghan family killed by US drone strike say they want monetary compensation and resettlement in US

The fatal blast heightened the surviving family’s urgency to leave, according to The Post and Ajmal Ahmadi, another brother, said his family is ‘worried’ and ‘feels under threat because we are so exposed to the public by the media’.

‘Everyone got to know that we have worked for foreigners, served in the Afghan army as well as the Afghan intelligence agency,’ he added.

The Ahmadis also said the commander who oversaw the strike, the drone operator or anyone else who had visuals on the ground – need to be taken to court.

Emal said: ‘The US government must punish those who launched the drone strike. They knew and saw there were children on the ground. Can anyone bring them back?’

2 Ladies, One Pregnant Nabbed for drug trafficking

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, have arrested an Italy-bound female passenger and a 38-year-old pregnant woman for drug trafficking.

Director, Media & Advocacy of the agency, Femi Babafemi, who disclosed this in a statement on Sunday, September 19, said operatives continued their nationwide offensive action against drug traffickers in the past week, seizing hundreds of kilograms of illicit substances at the airports, courier firms, hideouts and destroying hectares of cannabis farms in the remote forests.

“Attempts by a female passenger, Isesele Obehi and one Emmanuel Chibuzor Omebere to export illicit drugs to Europe through the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, MMIA, Lagos and Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja were thwarted by narcotic officers who arrested them shortly before they boarded their flights,” the statement read.

While Isesele was nabbed on Saturday 11th September, 2021 during outward clearance of Ethiopian Airline flight at Gate B departure hall of the Lagos airport on her way to Milan, Italy with three hundred and twelve (312) sachets of Tramadol, weighing 1.5kg, concealed in crayfish and dried vegetables, Chibuzor was equally caught with 137.45 grams of the same drug concealed in foodstuff at the Abuja airport on Thursday 2nd Sept during outward clearance of Turkish Airline flight to Istanbul, Turkey.

Babafemi stated that the pregnant woman, Kate Ngozi Nwuju was arrested on Tuesday 14th Sept at her residence in Rumueme, Mile 4 area of Port Harcourt, Rivers state with 4.5kilograms of cannabis following intelligence that she sells drugs.

In the same vein, efforts by desperate traffickers to export varying sizes of consignments containing cocaine, heroin and other illicit drugs through courier firms were also foiled.

Some of these include 475grams of heroin concealed in food items going to Canada; 202grams of cocaine hidden in body cream containers going to Australia; 720grams of Cannabis Sativa tucked in computer hard drives heading to United Arab Emirates, UAE and another 2.1kg of cannabis hidden in body cream bottles going to Oman, while 60grams of cocaine concealed in degree certificates meant for Australia was also seized, all from three courier firms in Lagos.

Also, one Aliyu Saidu, suspected to be a fake soldier was arrested with 2.3kg of Cannabis Sativa in a commercial bus from Lagos to Makurdi, on Monday 13th of Sept at Aliade checkpoint, Benue State.

In Kano, one Shuaibu Yusuf, was arrested on Friday 17th Sept with 537kg of cannabis sativa, concealed among bags of cement in a truck, while in Ogun state, five persons were arrested on Tuesday 14th Sept after their truck conveying 552kg cannabis was intercepted at Ogere Remo, along Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

In a related development, narcotic officers on motorised patrol on Friday 17th Sept, arrested a 21-year-old Law Ubi at Marian Road, Calabar, Cross River state with 67.4 kg cannabis while a follow up search of his residence the following day, Saturday, led to the recovery of 4.2grams of Cocaine from his apartment.

In Edo, operatives stormed remote forests in Ovia North East area of the state between 8th and 16th Sept, destroyed over 14 hectares of cannabis farms, and recovered 172.6kg of cannabis. Three female and a male suspects were also arrested in raids across Owan East and Akoko Edo areas of the state. Different quantities of cannabis and local mixtures called monkey tail were recovered from them.

Commending the officers and men of the Lagos airport, Abuja airport, Benue, Kano, Ogun, Rivers, Cross River and Edo commands as well as those of the Directorate of Operation and General Investigation, DOGI, of the Agency for maintaining the heat on drug dealers.

He said their efforts further reaffirm our determination that those in this criminal trade will always have the new NDLEA to contend with; whether in their homes, on the streets, at the ports and deep in the forests, well chase them with every legitimate force and smoke them out, up to the last man or woman if they fail to repent.

Covid19: You are considered unvaccinated if you are vaccinated in Africa, India and UAE – UK Govt. says

The United Kingdom has said people who received their Covid-19 vaccine in Africa, India, and certain other places will be considered as “unvaccinated” when they travel and will be treated as such.

The UK listed certain countries whose vaccination exercise is recognized and stated that those who didn’t get their vaccines from the listed countries will be treated as unvaccinated.

Aviation Analyst, Alex Macheras made this known on Twitter.

He posted: ‘UK government confirm tonight that if a person has been vaccinated in Africa, or South America, or countries including UAE, India, Turkey, Jordan, Thailand, Russia, you are considered “unvaccinated” and must follow “unvaccinated” rules = 10 day home quarantine & tests.’

The countries whose vaccines are not recognized are reportedly not happy with the UK and Ministers from some of the countries have made their grievance known.

They have questioned why the UK will only acknowledge those vaccinated in the listed countries, and pointed out that some countries left out of the list administered the exact same vaccines as the vaccines being administered in the UK.

One country’s minister told Macheras: “In our first meeting with Liz Truss, UK new Foreign Secretary, we expect her to explain why our Pfizer jabs are supposedly different to Pfizer jabs in UK or Europe.”

Taliban replaces Women’s Ministry with ‘Morality Police’

The Taliban appear to have shut down the women’s affairs ministry and replaced it with the ‘Morality police’ a department that once enforced strict religious doctrines in the country before the US invasion in 2001.

Footage on social media posted on Friday, September 17, shows the sign at the ministry was removed, and a sign for the ministry of ‘virtue and vice’ also known as ‘morality’ put in its place.

Footage also shows women employees outside the offices, urging the Taliban to let them return to work.

Afghanistan: Taliban shut down women

In the last 20 years Afghan women have  gained a number of basic rights, but that progress is being halted by the Taliban’s new all-male interim government.

Human rights groups have criticised the virtue and vice ministry for silencing dissent, violently enforcing restrictions on citizens especially women and girls but the Taliban say the institution is important.

“The main purpose is to serve Islam. Therefore, it is compulsory to have [a] Ministry of Vice and Virtue,” a Taliban member, Mohammad Yousuf, told the New York Post.

Man U Transfer: Solskjaer To Sell Up 7 First Team Players In January, See List

Manchester United boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reportedly ready to sell up to seven Red Devils players in January,

The Sun UK reports that the seven players are Anthony Martial, Donny van de Beek, Jesse Lingard, Phil Jones, Eric Bailly, Alex Telles and Diogo Dalot.

Man United are already making plans for the January transfer window, having bolstered Solskjaer’s squad over the summer with the signings of Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and Cristiano Ronaldo.

The report added that Solskjaer is hoping to trim his squad and add new players to his team by offloading some less important players, including Martial and Van de Beek.

Martial has fallen down the pecking order at Man United, while Van de Beek has endured a miserable spell at Old Trafford after joining the club from Ajax in 2020 for £40million.

However, Lingard was heavily linked with a move away from Man United over the summer after spending the second half of last season on loan at West Ham United.

Bailly and Jones have hardly featured for United over the past two years due to their injury issues.

‘Nnamdi Kanu Was Tortured In Kenya, Smeared With His Own Faeces and Urine’ – Lawyer

A couple of months after he was extradited into Nigeria via questionable means, more information has been unearthed as to how the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, spent the infamous eight days in Kenya.

He was tortured by Nigerian security agents in Kenya.

This was made known in the affidavit of a lawsuit Nnamdi Kanu filed against the Nigerian authorities. This 5 Billion Naira lawsuit detailed the torture he went through while in the custody of security officials in the East African country. At some points, he was smeared with his own urine and faeces.

The security agents reportedly refused to allow Kanu to use the toilet so he had no choice but to relieve himself where he was chained.

The suit which was filed in Umuahia, Abia state by Kanu’s counsel, Aloy Ejimakor on September 7th revealed that Kanu was beaten severely until he fainted and was revived with cold water.  The suit is seeking the enforcement of Kanu’s right to life, dignity of the human person, personal liberty and fair hearing.

The Affidavit in support of the originating motion was done by Prince Emmanuel Kanu, brother to Nnamdi Kanu. The affidavit, in part, reads thus:

“That the facts and violations deposed to in this affidavit started at the applicant’s residence in Isiama Afaraukwu Ibeku, Umuahia North Local Government Area of Abia State; to wit; the military invasion of the applicant in September 2017 by a combined team of Ohafia-based 14 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, the Abia State Command of Nigeria police force and the Abia State directorate of the State Security Service.

“It was the said invasion that nearly took the life of the applicant that caused him to seek refuge abroad which ultimately to Kenya, where the respondents lawfully pursued him, abducted him, disappeared him and ultimately brought him to Nigeria and detained him.

“That in October 2015, the applicant was arrested in Lagos upon his return from the United Kingdom, detained in Abuja and ultimately charged for certain offences Charge No: FHC/ABJ/CR/383/2015 (Federal Republic of Nigeria vs Nnamdi Kanu).

“That the applicant was detained for 18 months but was later released on bail whereupon he returned to his home in Isiama Afaraukwu Ibeku, Umuahia North, Abia State, and there awaiting his next trial date set fo October 2017.

“That on or about 10 September, while the applicant was resting at home with some family members and friends, the Ohafia-based Nigerian Army, police, and DSS launched military invasion and assaults at the applicant’s residential building and premises.

“That in the course of the military action, 28 people were killed and several others, including the applicant, were wounded. Both of the applicant’s parents sustained grave injuries from the military invasion and both of them eventually succumbed to those injuries and are now late.

“That in the course of the invasion, the applicant managed to escape to a safe location from where he managed to flee overseas to save his life. That there was neither a court order revoking the applicant’s bail nor any arrest warrant that could have justified the deadly military assault.

“That had the President implemented the provisional measures, the applicant would have felt safe enough to voluntarily end his exile and return to Nigeria to face prosecution in the said charge under reference therein.”

The affidavit went ahead to state the circumstances surrounding his arrest in Kenya.

“That in the course of his exile, the applicant on or about May 5, 2021, entered the Republic of Kenya on his British passport and was admitted as such as Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Nairobi. After his admission, the applicant settled in at a temporary location in Nairobi, Kenya.”

Emmanuel Kanu then went on to reveal in detail the abduction of Nnamdi Kanu from the East African country and his ordeal in the hands of the Nigerian security operatives at a private residence where he was taken to.

He stated “That on June 19, 2021, the applicant drove himself and without any companion to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, to drop off a friend at the airport. That as soon as the applicant pulled to stop at the parking lot and alighted from his vehicle, about twenty respondent’s agents (hereafter abductors) violently accosted and abducted the applicant, handcuffed and blindfolded him, bundled him in a vehicle and sped away, while telling onlookers that the applicant is a ‘terrorist separatist’.

“That the applicant’s abductors took him to a nondescript private house (not a police station) somewhere in Nairobi, Kenya, and chained him to the floor. That while chained to the floor, the applicant’s abductors took turns to beat him torturing him to a point that he fainted several times and was intermittently revived when they poured cold water on him.

“That to prevent the applicant’s anguished screaming from being heard in the vicinity, the applicant’s abductors tied a cloth over his mouth and so close to covering his nostrils that the applicant struggled to breathe.

“That the applicant remained chained to the floor for eight days and was thus forced to relieve himself of urine and excrement where he was chained with same being smeared all over his body. That throughout the duration of the applicant’s captivity, he was not allowed to bathe and was fed only on bland bread once a day and given non-sanitary water to drink.”

AnaedoOnline learned that there are 8 respondents in the case namely the Attorney-General of the Federation, the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Chief of the Army Staff, the Inspector-General of Police, the Commissioner for Police, Abia State, the Director-General, State Security Services, the Brigade Commander, 14 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Ohafia, Abia State, Abia State Director, State Security Services.

Oups! Macron recalls its ambassador to the US after Australia snubbed France in the Nuclear submarines deal

America’s oldest ally, France, took an extraordinary step on Friday September 17, recalling its ambassador to the United States and Australia.

The relationship between the US and France conceived in 18th century revolutions us now at a tipping point after the U.S. Australia and Britain shunned France in creating a new Indo-Pacific security arrangement that involved Australia dumping its previous agreement to buy diesel powered submarines from France in favor of buying better more equiped nuclear powered submarines from the US and the UK to counter growing threats from China.

For the first time in history, France recalls its ambassador to the US?after Australia snubbed France to buy nuclear submarines from US

It is the first time ever that France has recalled its ambassador to the U.S., according to the French foreign ministry. Paris also recalled its envoy to Australia.

France Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said in a written statement that the French decision, on request from President Emmanuel Macron, “is justified by the exceptional seriousness of the announcements” made by Australia and the United States.

For the first time in history, France recalls its ambassador to the US?after Australia snubbed France to buy nuclear submarines from US

He said Australia’s decision to scrap a big French conventional submarine purchase in favor of nuclear subs built with U.S. technology is “unacceptable behavior between allies and partners.”

Ambassador Philippe Etienne tweeted the announcements are “directly affecting the vision we have of our alliances, of our partnerships and of the importance of the Indo-Pacific for Europe.”

In response to the move, the Biden administration said it has been in close contact with French officials about the decision to recall Etienne to Paris, National Security Council spokesperson Emily Horne said.

“We understand their position and will continue to be engaged in the coming days to resolve our differences, as we have done at other points over the course of our long alliance,” she said in a statement.

“France is our oldest ally and one of our strongest partners, and we share a long history of shared democratic values and a commitment to working together to address global challenges.”

State Department spokesman Ned Price also stressed the value the U.S. places on its relationship with France and expressed hope that talks between the two sides will continue in the coming days, including at the United Nations General Assembly next week.

But in another twist, Macron, won’t be making a speech to the annual meeting of world leaders. Le Drian will instead deliver the French address.

This is the first time this will occur since Macron came into office in 2017.

The Australian government said it regretted France’s decision to recall its ambassador to that nation.

“Australia understands France’s deep disappointment with our decision, which was taken in accordance with our clear and communicated national security interests,” Foreign Minister Marise Payne’s office said in a statement.

It added that Australia valued its relationship with France and looked forward to future engagements together.

Macron’s decision to recall his ambassadors to the US is a shocking turnaround given that he welcomed Joe Biden’s presidency after having a  bitter relationship with former President Donald Trump.

The recall is his boldest foreign policy move yet in his four-year presidency

Earlier Friday, a top French diplomat, who spoke anonymously, said that Macron received a letter from Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison on Wednesday morning announcing the decision to cancel the submarine deal.

French officials then decided to reach out to the U.S. administration “to ask what was going on,” he said. He added that discussions with Washington took place just two to three hours before Biden announced the deal with Australia.

Le Drian expressed “total incomprehension” at the move and criticized both Australia and the U.S.

“It was really a stab in the back. We built a relationship of trust with Australia, and this trust was betrayed,” he said. “This is not done between allies.”

Former R. Kelly’s Assistant, Cheryl Mack testifies in R. Kelly trial

A former assistant to R. Kelly has testified against the singer that she once saw him engage in sexual activity with one of the women he is charged with abusing.

On the 18th day of testimony at Kelly’s trial in federal court in Brooklyn, Cheryl Mack, the mother of music producer London on da Track, said she saw Kelly begin to massage the woman while backstage at a Connecticut concert where he was performing.

Music producer, London On Da Track

“That was kind of my cue to leave,” Mack said. “I was very uncomfortable.” She said that as she left the room, she caught a glimpse of the woman moving her head toward Kelly’s groin.

Mack also said Kelly lost his temper in 2015 after she supposedly ruined a surprise birthday party for former stylist Kash Howard and had her sign an “apology letter” that included false claims she accepted kickbacks from booking agents.

Music producer, London On Da Track

“I apologised out of fear,” Mack said.

Several witnesses have testified that Kelly made them write apology letters, purportedly to absolve him of misconduct.

The disgraced singer, 54, has pleaded not guilty to charges over his alleged grooming and preying on women and girls as far back as the mid-1990s, when he shot to stardom with music including the 1996 smash I Believe I Can Fly.

The singer, whose full name is Robert Sylvester Kelly, faces one count of racketeering and eight counts of illegally transporting people across state lines for prostitution.

Kelly’s indictment said he abused six women and underage girls, including the singer Aaliyah, who Kelly married illegally in 1994 when she was 15. Aaliyah died in a 2001 plane crash.

Prosecution witnesses have said Kelly instilled fear as he demanded they follow his stringent rules, including by having women and girls call him “Daddy,” and punished those who disobeyed, including by demanding unwanted sex.

Kelly’s lawyers have tried to portray his accusers as fans who once hoped to capitalise on the singer’s fame but felt jilted, and questioned why they and former employees failed to leave Kelly sooner or go to the police.

Kelly’s defense attorney countered Mack’s testimony by suggesting that she was a veteran in the industry and an adult who knew better than to sign a “fake” letter.

“I wasn’t thinking at all,” Mack told him.

R. Kelly is currently on federal trial in New York on charges of running a criminal enterprise where employees recruited women and girls for him to abuse and sexually assault. The singer has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

A frustrated Ghanaian has taken to social media to share a heartbreaking and disappointing situation he finds himself in.

Narrating his story via a page on Facebook called Mx24gh, he anonymously gave a vivid account of how his own former classmate, whom he helped get a job at the company he was working with, ended up backstabbing him and getting him fired.

Recounting his experience, the man shared that, 10 years after completing school, he managed to land a Finance Manager role in a reputable company.

One day in traffic, he met his old schoolmate, Timothy, with a lady he presumed to be his wife and they exchanged contacts.

Timothy, according to the betrayed Finance Manager, was always good in class and everyone believed he would turn out very well in life. His former mate, however, gave him a call one day and pleaded with him to help him secure a better job than his current one.

Being a good friend, the anonymous man narrated Timothy’s situation to his company’s Human Resource Manager, and they decided to employ him as his assistant. Continuing his story, the emotional man said he went on a 10-day leave from work, and he got an email from the board of directors from the company, asking for an impromptu meeting.

At the meeting, he was questioned about some shady deals he had allegedly done in the past. “I thought to myself, how did they have access to all that information?

My friend, Timoo had dug deep into my files and emails as a self-elected auditor and private investigator and handed them over to the auditors”, the anonymous man revealed After his leave, he came back to the office, only to find Timothy’s name tag on his table. The finance manager position had been transferred to his friend.

The betrayed friend shared the rest of the story in the post linked below;

Chijoke said he did not know that he was dealing with a devil in sheep’s clothing all those years they were together.

The Governors who reaffirmed its earlier commitments to fiscal federalism and emphasised the need to pursue its inclusion in the Nigerian Constitution through the ongoing constitutional amendment, stressed that collection of VAT falls within the powers of the state.

Akeredolu who is chairman of the southern governors’ forum, urged Governors in the region to leverage the competence of their houses of assembly and representation at the national assembly to pursue the goal.

“The meeting reaffirmed its earlier commitments to fiscal federalism and emphasised the need to pursue its inclusion in the Nigerian Constitution through the ongoing constitutional amendment.”

The forum also expressed satisfaction with the states in the region that have successfully implemented the anti-open grazing law in line with the decision reached during the meeting held in Delta State.

States in the region that are yet to implement the decision reached at its earlier meeting, were asked to expeditiously do so as it represents the aspirations of the people in the region.

Akeredolu added;

“The meeting expressed satisfaction with the rate at which states in the south of Nigeria are amending or enacting the anti-open grazing law.

“This aligns with the uniform template and aspiration of governors in the south and we encourage the states that have yet to enact the law to do so expeditiously.

“The meeting agreed to encourage the full operationalisation of the already agreed regional security which will share intelligence and collaborate toward the safety and security of the region.”

The governors also expressed satisfaction with the handling of issues surrounding the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) and ownership of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation by the larger Nigerian Governors Forum, and also demanded that the next president of Nigeria should come from the southern region in line with the politics of equity, justice and fairness,

Facebook is aware that Instagram is mentally killing teenage girls – Leaked documents reveal

Social media company, Facebook, has repeatedly found that its photo-sharing app is mentally harmful and toxic to a significant percentage of teenagers, according to a new report.

According to a report by the Wall Street Journal,  Facebook conducted internal studies over the past three years that examined how Instagram affects its young user base, with the study finding out that teenage girls are the most notably harmed.

One internal Facebook presentation said that among teens who reported suicidal thoughts, 13% of British users and 6% of American users traced the issue to Instagram.

“Thirty-two percent of teen girls said that when they felt bad about their bodies, Instagram made them feel worse,” the researchers reportedly wrote. Facebook also reportedly found that 14% of boys in the U.S. said Instagram made them feel worse about themselves.

While Facebook concluded that a large percentage of teenagers aren’t negatively harmed by Instagram, according to the Journal, the features that the social media company identified as the most harmful are part of its key makeup like it’s explore page and it’s filter features.

According to the report, researchers warned Instagram’s Explore page, which serves users selected posts from a wide range of accounts, can push users into content that can be harmful.

The app also has a culture of posting only the best pictures and videos, and it can be very addictive.

“Aspects of Instagram exacerbate each other to create a perfect storm,” the research said, according to the Journal.

Top executives have reviewed the research, according to the Wall Street Journal, and it was cited in a presentation given last year to CEO Mark Zuckerberg.

Facebook is now reportedly building a version of Instagram for kids under age 13.

Young users are a key to Instagram’s success as more than 40% of Instagram’s users are 22 years old and younger.

Instagram has now responded to the report.

Instagram’s head of public policy, Karina Newton, said the company is researching ways to pull users away from dwelling on certain types of Instagram posts.

“We’re exploring ways to prompt them to look at different topics if they’re repeatedly looking at this type of content,” Newton said. “We’re cautiously optimistic that these nudges will help point people towards content that inspires and uplifts them, and to a larger extent, will shift the part of Instagram’s culture that focuses on how people look.”

US lawmaker, Rep. Lori Trahan, D-Mass., has made children’s mental health concerns in connection with social media a huge topic in Washington and blasted Facebook for trying to create am Instagram app for kids

She called for Facebook to “immediately abandon plans for Instagram for Kids” and focus instead on protecting existing young users.

“Facebook’s internal documents show that the company’s failure to protect children on Instagram – especially young girls – is outright neglect, and it’s been going on for years,” Trahan said in a statement.

“Facebook has no business developing additional social media platforms explicitly designed for our children when they can’t be trusted to keep their current house in order.”

Brussels City names a street after murdered Nigerian Prostitute, Eunice Osayande

The city of Brussels has said it will name a new street after a murdered Nigerian sex worker, Eunice Osayande, as part of a wider campaign to recognise women in Belgium.

23-year-old Osayande was brutally murdered by one of her customers in the Gare du Nord district in June 2018.

The street will be the first named after a sex worker in the country, according to Belgium broadcaster RTBF

The street that will carry her eponym will connect the Quai de Willebroeck and the Quai des Péniches, nearby the North Station, behind which Osayande was murdered.

Five years ago, Osayande came into the hands of a gang of men who promised her a brighter future and work in Europe, leading her, alongside some other girls, to begin her difficult journey to Belgium, which included crossing over to Italy on a rubber boat, and being raped multiple times.

Upon arrival in Brussels in 2016, she was immediately forced into prostitution and had to pay her pimps €45,000 for the smuggling, as well as paying rent for a filthy flat where she lived together with several other victims.

In June 2018, she was stabbed with 17 knives by a disgruntled customer, a 17-year-old man who was arrested two weeks later. He is awaiting trial.

In January this year, the four people involved in her smuggling were sentenced to between 33 months and four years in prison.

In the weeks leading up to her death, she had contacted a sex worker charity and told them she was experiencing violence and intimidation while working. She feared she couldn’t go to the police because she was an undocumented migrant.

Protests led by the migrant sex worker community in Brussels soon erupted. The marchers demanded better working conditions and called on local authorities to create clear legal guidelines for the sector.

Prostitution is not illegal in Belgium but there are no unified national rules.

A year following her death, her colleagues gathered to commemorate her during a silent march and pleaded with the municipality for better working condition.

Maxime Maes, director of the UTSOPI sex workers union in Brussels, who organised the march and was closely involved with the case, welcomes the tribute to a colleague that “was brutally taken from us”.

“Sex workers are often forgotten, this time it will not be the case,” Maes said.

“Eunice’s death has been extremely distressing, especially for undocumented migrants in the area where she worked. The area has seen increasing violence and the most marginalised women are targeted.” she told BBC.

By naming a new street after Ms Osayande, the City of Brussels said it wanted to draw attention to all the “forgotten women who are victims of human trafficking, sexual violence and femicides”.

The new street, which will be in the north of Brussels city, is part of an ongoing initiative by the council to name more areas after women.

The council has already named streets after several notable women, including resistance fighters Yvonne Nèvejean and Andrée De Jongh, and a bridge after Suzan Daniel, a Belgian LGBT activist.

But Ans Persoons, Alderwoman for the city of Brussels, said: “Feminism for us is not just about women who excel. Inclusive feminism is about women’s rights and struggles at every social rank.”

Ms Persoons said 42% of women in Belgium between the ages of 16 and 69 have experienced physical sexual violence at some point.

“This percentage is much higher among sex workers. And that is precisely why Eunice Osayande gets a street.”

The street, which is under construction, will be officially opened in the next few months.

The city council say sex workers and migrant communities will be invited to speak at the inauguration.

Irina Shayk refuses to speak on her relationship with Kanye West

Irina Shayk has refused to speak on her rumoured relationship with Kanye West amid reports they went their separate ways in August after allegedly dating for five months.

The Russian supermodel declined to comment about her short-lived romance with the rapper when asked about him during an interview with Highsnobiety.

In her reply, Irina said: ‘tomorrow there is going to be a rumor that I’m dating my doorman, okay? Then after tomorrow, it’s going to be someone else.’

Adding: ‘Look, there’s always something there, and I’m just keeping it to myself.’

While she would not speak about Kanye, she instead mentioned her ex Bradley Cooper, who is the father of her 4-year-old daughter Lea de Seine.

She said of Bradley: ‘He’s a full-in, hands-on dad – no nanny. Lea went on holiday with him for almost two weeks – I didn’t call them once.’

They also both agree on how to raise her: ‘Me and her father are very strict. When she finishes eating, she gets up from the table, takes her plate, says “thank you.”‘

‘Without “please” or “thank you” she’s not getting anything. It’s hard, because she has so many toys. I had one doll, and I still have this doll. Blonde, blue eyes, big Russian doll. My grandma used to make clothes for her. And I always explain, “Look, this is my doll. I had only one.” Or sometimes, “You have this candy. I used to have candy only for Christmas.”‘

In late August, it was reported that Irina and Kanye called off their alleged romance, after dating for five months.

Kanye, who’s facing a divorce from estranged wife Kim Kardashian, reportedly began dating Irina in March 2021, according to TMZ.

Ejine wrote;

Thursday, the 16th of September, I was ashamed being a Nigerian. At a mall here in Paris,I went to purchase some items and I was told the Euro notes I had were fake. I bought the money from a well known bank in Nigeria (PTA).

I took it to bank, A cash machine seized the €2000 that was rightfully placed and rejected the last squeezed €500. With a receipt that the money is fake.(because I was advised to pay the money into an account and withdraw in smaller denominations that they hardly spend 500euro)I asked my friend, who lives here to help me with the transaction. So We took d surviving €500 to MoneyGram to confirm its authenticity and we almost got into trouble, dey wanted to call the Police on us.

We eventually had to visit the Police station for her to report,to avoid her account from getting blocked or being negatively affected by this situation.meanwhile I called the bank manager when the atm seized the money, to let him know what had happened ,he said ‘I should have called him when they told me at the mall,I won’t have gone to the bank’. I should return the money.Apparently, he said they had been told to stop issuing that cash and I was never alerted.

The alert would have helped me to be cautious.
Dear Nigerians, avoid the big denominations for now, if you need to collect via PTA system to travel.
It is a real big shame.
Thank You.

GrandMother dies for 45 minutes and miraculously came back to life just before her grandchild was born

A woman who had a heart attack and was clinically dead for 45 minutes was brought back to life just before her daughter gave birth.

Kathy Patten from Maryland, USA, was playing golf on July 2, when she received a call that her daughter, Stacey Fifer, was in labour.

She hurried to the hospital to be with her daughter for the birth of her 8th grandchild but had a heart attack just as she arrived.

The medical personnel rushed her to the emergency room, where they attempted CPR and administered oxygen, but to no avail.

Patten had no heart rate, pulse, blood pressure, or oxygen to the brain for 45 minutes, which indicated she was clinically dead.

However, a miracle occurred, as Patten describes it. The medical team was able to resurrect her.

She said: “I’m grateful to God for giving me another opportunity. I’ll simply be the greatest person I can be. Coming back is a second shot at life, and it’s terrifying.”

At the zenith of his practice, his organisation had over 30 Lawyers in his employ and  gained international acclaim for its meticulous and tenacious legal battles for financial probity, transparency, management and verification of foreign debts of third world countries and their component states.

The firm was renowned for its legal and consultancy work for several African and Asian governments in interstate and inter government work and relationship in democratic settings are therefore a familiar terrain.

Prince Nwoko and his firm won global acclaim when he took some banks to court in Uk Paris and Geneva in what was a test case on behalf of some states in Nigeria who were said to be indebted to Paris and London Club group of lenders. He initiated discussions with Nigerian government on the need to reconcile and verify our foreign loans that eventually culminated in the exit from the foreign loans. He engaged with the Federal government resulting in the acceptance by the Obasanjo government to reimburse the state governments to the value of 20% in full and final settlement for their claims for refund on the Paris and London Club Debt Buy-Back. Prince Ned Nwoko persuaded reluctant state governments to accept the Federal government offer and pursue the balance subsequently as the law was in their favor. This was what eventually played out as the state governments accepted the informed advice of the incisive counsel.
In 2009, following Nigeria’s exit from the foreign obligations he was engaged in a class action at the Federal High court, Abuja, by all the states in pursuit of their refunds from over deductions. The Federal Government  settled out of court leading to a total refund of over US$10billion to all the states.

His Nigerian firm, Linas International Limited, was equally engaged by the 774 Local Government Areas and following various court judgements in Linas’ favour, the  federal government  has refunded over US$3billion to the Local Government Areas.
Prince Nwoko returned to Nigeria in 1998,  contested and won the election into the  Federal House of Representatives as a member representing Aniocha and Oshimili Federal Constituency of Delta state. He remained a member of the legislative house till 2003.

As a member of the House, he sponsored 22 bills. Some of these bills are still being implemented today. They include :
* National Minimum Wage Bill 1999
* A bill for an Act to standardize allowances and fringe benefits payable to public/government officials– Monetization Bill.
* A bill for an Act to establish public funds recovery and reward commission ( Whistle blowing )

In 2019, Prince Nwoko contested for the Delta North Senatorial election .
In the complex litigations that followed the election, he won at the High Court but the Appeal and Supreme Courts voided his initial victory.

Beyond his manifest strides in legal practice and politics, Prince Nwoko has interests in aviation, real estate and agriculture.

He is the Chairman of Project Tourism which his company, Linas International Limited launched in collaboration with the Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation, NTDC to project Nigeria’s tourism and cultural endowments through profitable creative projects.

Prince Nwoko is the founder of the proposed first sports university in Africa, STARS, an acronym for Sports, Technology, Arts and Research Sciences. STARS,  with structures now nearing completion,  would in Prince Nwoko’s vision address the critical issue of Nigeria’s  increasing poor performances in international competitions through internationally financed trainings abroad for its sports students and administrators. STARS also  delineates  Prince Nwoko’s yearning and zeal for the education of sports men and those working in the sports arena in Nigeria .

In January,  2020, his Foundation,  Ned Nwoko Foundation,  launched the Malaria Eradication Project, a mision to eliminate malaria in Nigeria  and Africa in general beginning with waste management , sanitation and vaccine development.

To flag off this project , Prince Nwoko made a symbolic, audacious expedition to the Antarctica where he planted the Nigerian flag. He, consequently, became the first black man to visit the South Pole and thus put Nigeria’s name on the global map, a feat that reverberated across the globe.

Prince Nwoko is a passionate and committed philanthropist.  Through his Foundation , he has given scholarships to hundreds of indigent students across the country, sponsoring skill acquisition programmes and youth empowerment initiatives while growing the  economy of the village market women through provision of petty trading funds. His philanthropy cuts across education, tourism, sports , human capital development and agriculture.

For his benevolent financial support for Nigeria’s creative industry, Nollywood,  he was made a Patron of both the Actors Guild of Nigeria , AGN and Association of Movie Producers,  Nigeria, AMP.

The Federal University of Petroleum, Effurun, Delta state, awarded him an Honourary Doctorate degree for his ” uncommon philanthropy, service and integrity “. He also received additional Honourary awards from the University  of Ibadan and the Delta State University for his phenomenal charity.  The Commonwealth University College in Belize  bestowed on him an Honorary Doctorate degree while he was also placed on a pedestal of honour in 2019 as Human Rights Champion of the Decade by Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria for sponsoring bills that promote human rights including the National Public Funds Recovery and Reward bill that gave birth to the whistle blowing policy in the fight against corruption in Nigeria. These were in addition to several local and international awards bestowed on him for his humanitarian ventures, an untrammelled integrity and a rare passion to touch those on the lower rung of the economic ladder.

Prince Ned Nwoko,  with doubt, is a man in the theatre of time. His political trek is yet unfinished.

Kanye West ‘cheated on Kim Kardashian, – source claims

Kanye West allegedly had an affair with an “A-list singer” while he was still married to Kim Kardashian, a source has claimed.

According to The Sun, the 44-year-old rapper reportedly cheated on the reality star shortly after the birth of their second child, Saint, 5.

Just weeks earlier, the rapper hinted at being unfaithful to Kim through lyrics of his new music. Kanye rapped that he cheated after the birth of their first two kids.

A source close to the family has now claimed to the publication that Kim was going through a hard time after she welcomed her son, Saint.

And it is believed that Kanye may have been intimate with a household name back in 2015, according to the informant.

The insider claimed: “Kanye cheated on Kim with an A-list singer. At the time it happened, Kanye was mainly living in his bachelor pad in Hollywood because it was closer to his studio and he wasn’t going to go home to Kim and a newborn baby when he’d been partying late in the studio.

“Kim wasn’t feeling herself – the breastfeeding, the extra weight, the baby in the bedroom, the early morning exercise routines and juice diets – and Kanye was out late a lot.

“[Kim] was struggling and thought it was all because of how she looked – it put a lot of pressure on her at a time when she was at her most vulnerable … She blamed herself and vowed to ‘bounce back’ hotter than ever.”

Mum and her Daughter who refused to take COVID-19 Vaccines die weeks apart

A mother and daughter who refused to take the COVID-19 vaccine, have died weeks apart in same hospital ward after contracting the virus.

32-year-old mother of four, Sammie-Jo Forde died in Ulster Hospital, on the outskirts of east Belfast, Ireland on Saturday September 11, after her 55-year-old mother Heather Maddern died on August 31, just two beds away from her.

The women and daughter who lived together, also worked alongside each other as care assistants. Both contracted COVID-19 and were admitted to hospital.

Ms Forde’s dad, Kevin McAllister who commented on the death of his daughter and his former partner said;

“I’ve lost my daughter, my best friend.”

Mother and daughter who refused to take COVID-19 vaccines die in same hospital ward, weeks apart

Mr McAllister confirmed that his ex-partner and his daughter were “very, very” close and had both worked and lived together. He told BBC he had “never, never” thought he would have to bury his daughter”, as he recounted how she texted him and informed him of her mother’s death.

He said;

“My daughter sent me a text message saying: ‘Dad, Mummy’s passed away”

McAllister stated that he did not understand why his daughter and ex-partner did not take up the offer of a vaccine to protect themselves against COVID-19. He also spoke of the irony that the pair had worked to help other people but didn’t help themselves.

He added;

“These people who are not taking the Covid-19 injection – they’re not thinking of the other people that they leave behind.

“I can never get it out of my mind. Why didn’t she take it? It will haunt me for the rest of my life.

“I just wish people out there would listen to the experts. I am devastated.

“If she had took it she would be alive today, her and her mummy.

“Loads of people out there not taking it, they don’t realise what they are leaving behind. We have to pick up the pieces. I have two sons as well and they haven’t gone to work, they have lost a sister.

“I don’t want nobody to go through what that man has to go through, rearing four kids on his own.

“I have come back to work today to take my mind off it but next Monday I have to bury my first born, my best friend, my daughter and I wouldn’t wish it on anybody.

“I just wish to God she took it. It is on my mind every night”.

A fundraising page set up by a woman called ‘Debbie’ to help relieve the financial burden faced by Ms Forde’s husband, had raised more than £10,000 since it was set up at the beginning of this week.

Maurice Fayne, US Artist, sentenced to 17 years in Prison for fraud

A former star on the show “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” has been sentenced to more than 17 years in federal prison for charges related to a Ponzi scheme and for a fraudulent Paycheck Protection Program loan application

The Acting U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Georgia, Kurt Erskine, said Maurice Fayne, 38, ran a multistate Ponzi scheme that defrauded more than 20 people who invested in his trucking business.

Officials said Fayne, also known as Arkansas Mo, promised he would use investors’ money to operate the business. However, they said he used the funds to pay personal debts and to live an extravagant lifestyle.

“During the scheme, Fayne spent more than $5 million at a casino in Oklahoma,” according to the news release.

Erskine said in April of last year, Fayne submitted a $3.7 million PPP loan application claiming his trucking business had more than 100 workers with an average monthly payroll of $1,490,200. However, they said he spent $40,000 for past-due child support, $50,000 on restitution for a previous fraud case, $136,000 to lease a Rolls-Royce, $907,000 to start a business in Arkansas, and thousands more on other expenses.

“Fayne planned to use the PPP program as a cover for his long-running Ponzi scheme,” said Erskine. “The funds the program supplies serve as a lifeline to many businesses desperately trying to stay afloat during the pandemic, and unfortunately his fraud helped deplete those precious dollars.”

In addition to his 17 years and six months of prison time, he will also have five years of supervised release. In addition, the reality TV star must pay almost $4.5 million in restitution.

Fayne appeared on season 8 of VH1’s Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta as the love interest of longtime cast member Karlie Redd.

‘Pastors and Imam should stop asking their congregants to pray for Nigeria’ – Seun Kuti

Singer Seun Kuti has asked Pastors and Imam to stop asking their congregants to pray for Nigeria.

According to the singer, clerics should start telling their congregants to fight for the country instead. He backed this up by pointing out that Pastors who underperformed in their churches, were sacked and not prayed for.

Kuti added that girls who accused Pastors of raping them weren’t prayed for, including men who accused Pastors of sleeping with their wives. He concluded by stating that Nigerians should fight for the country.

He wrote;

Switch up the sermon! I mean when some Pastors in some churches weren’t performing, we didn’t pray for them, we sacked them ( fought) from office. When some girls say some pastors raped them we didn’t pray for them na. When one man say one pastor knack him wife , the pastor no pray for am o but everyday pray for Nigeria, pray for your leaders. Kenya: 2 toddlers mauled to death by hyenas

Two children have been killed by hyenas at Baisa village in Kinango, Kwale County, Kenya.

The siblings, Lugo Nyale,2, Mbodze Nyawa, 1, were attacked at about 9:30am on Tuesday, September 14, while they were sleeping in their house

Their mother, Mulongo Tsimba was burning charcoal few meters away from the house when the incident happened.

Kinango sub-county police commander, Fred Ombaka, who confirmed the incident said Mulongo tried to defend her children from the vicious hyenas but to no avail.

She later ran for help from the nearest neighbours to rescue the young souls but the hyenas had already killed the two and fed on their brains.

The angry residents who responded to the cry of help decided to attack the hyenas and managed to kill one, the other disappeared in the bush.

Chengoni sub-chief, Jackson Chengo said two residents, Kalu Chiti,21, Mutuku Mutinda, 64, and the children’s mother sustained serious body bruises.

The three are currently receiving treatment at Samburu sub-county hospital.

“In total, the animals have injured seven people in the past two days,” said Mr Chengo.

The bodies of the two children were taken to Kinango Hospital mortuary for postmortem.

The hyena carcass was sent to the KWS vet laboratory for further examination.

Kinango area has recently experienced increased human-wildlife conflict as drought intensifies.

Almost 90 percent of the Kinango water sources are reported to have dried up leading to water and food scarcity as animals and wildlife compete for the remaining crucial commodities.

Three days ago a herd of elephants stormed Mrunguruguni village within Kinango causing the disturbance.

Last year, a lion attacked and killed livestock in Sagalato and Boyana villages and injured others in Matuga.

‘Prince Kpokpogri threatened to expose my nudes’ – Tonto Dikeh

Nollywood Actress, Tonto Dikeh, has alleged that her ex-lover, Prince Kpokpogri, is threatening to release her nude pictures.

The actress, whose relationship with Kpokpogri crashed last month, said this in a petition to the police.

DailyTrust reports that Tonto in her petition to the police issued by her legal team accused Kpokpogri of blackmail, extortion, and obtaining by false pretense.

“From sometime in June 2021, one Prince Kpokpogri Joseph started to court our client with a proposal to marry her.

In the process, he would invite our client to his residence and sometimes, he came over to our client’s residence.

Unknown to our client, the said Joseph Kpokpogri (who our client later discovered to be a serial blackmailer) had other motives for courting our client.

Our client now has reasons and evidence to believe that Joseph Kpokpogri has planted closed-circuit television cameras (CCTV Cameras) at private areas of his residence, and had stage-managed those visits with the aim of blackmailing our client.

She was surprised when sometime in August 2021, the suspect started demanding money from her and threatening to expose nude pictures and other such documents relating to her.

To actualize his demands, the said Kpokpogri started sending messages, documents, and files containing sensitive information and materials relating to our client to her phone while also releasing some to the public. Our client believes that some of those information were obtained either by wire-tapping her phone and/or through such other means without her authorization.

The said Kpokpogri equally obtained the sum of eight million naira (8,000,000) from our client under false pretenses. However, he has paid back the sum of six million naira (6,000,000) but has refused, failed, and/or neglected to pay the sum of two million naira (2,000,000) outstanding. Our client’s Toyota Hilux van (2021 Model) bought in her name is also in the custody of Kpokpogri which he has refused to return despite several demands.

By reason of the above, we urge you to use your good offices to cause a detailed investigation into the above facts with a view to bring Joseph Kpokpogri to book.”the petition read in part

French troops kill ISIS’s commander in North Africa, $5M bounty was placed on his head

The head of Islamic State in north Africa, who was wanted for deadly attacks on US soldiers and foreign aid workers, has been killed in an operation by French troops.

Adnan Abu Walid al-Sahrawi was “neutralised by French forces”, President Emmanuel Macron tweeted early Thursday September 16.

“This is another major success in our fight against terrorist groups in the Sahel,” Macron said, without giving the location or details of the operation.

The jihadist leader was behind the killing of French aid workers in 2020 and was also wanted by the United States over a deadly 2017 attack on US troops in Niger.

Walid al Sahraoui, who was in his late 40s, was ‘neutralised’ four years after ordering a notorious ambush in Niger which led to the deaths of Army Sgt David Johnson, 25; Staff Sgt Bryan Black, 35; Staff Sgt Jeremiah Johnson, 39; and Staff Sgt Dustin Wright, 29.

Four Nigerien troops were also killed in the attack, and two American soldiers and eight Nigerien soldiers were severely wounded.

Islamic State in the Greater Sahara is blamed for most of the jihadist attacks in the Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso region.

The flashpoint “tri-border” area is frequently targeted by ISGS and the Al-Qaeda-affiliated Group for the Support of Islam and Muslims (GSIM).

ISGS has carried out deadly attacks targeting civilians and soldiers in Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso.

The United States had offered a $5 million reward for information on the whereabouts of Sahrawi, who was wanted over an October 4, 2017 attack in Niger that killed four US Special Forces and four Niger troops.

 French military kill ISIS

On August 9, 2020, in Niger, the head of ISGS personally ordered the killing of six French aid workers and their Niger guides and drivers.

Sahrawi was formerly a member of Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) and also co-led Mujao, a Malian Islamist group responsible for kidnapping Spanish aid workers in Algeria and a group of Algerian diplomats in Mali in 2012.

There is information on how he was killed or where or when the attack happened, but an Élysée Palace spokesman said the ISIS leader ‘was definitely dead’.

Jealous mistress pours hot water on housewife while she slept

A married woman, Mrs. Adeola Moshood, 33, is critical ill at Gbagada General Hospital in Lagos after her husband’s mistress, Precious Ahanonu, attacked and poured hot water on her after the woman allegedly caught the mistress with the husband.

The incident reportedly happened at Okerube in Abaranje area of Ikotun, Lagos, where the couple reside.

The husband, Aremu Moshood,  opened a fish pond and employed Precious, 26, to manage it.

After a while the husband allegedly started sleeping with Precious and rented a one bedroom and parlour self-contained apartment for her without the knowledge of his wife. He regularly visited Precious secretly.

After a while, Aremu’s business reportedly folded and he was unable to pay the house rent of where he lived with his wife and three children at Ikotun/Igando Road.

Aremu was evicted by his landlord- as a result, he decided to move his wife and children into the apartment he had rented for Precious, temporarily.

It was during that period that the wife discovered that her husband was having an affair with Precious and he was even the person that was paying the house rent.

This caused animosity and constant fights between Precious and Mrs. Adeola to the extent that one day, Precious boiled water and poured it on Mrs. Adeola’s body while she was sleeping around 1.00am.

She was immediately rushed to hospital where she is being treated.

The Police at Ikotun Division have arrested Precious and transferred her to the SCID, Panti, Yaba area of Lagos for the act, where she is facing charge of attempted murder and serious assault .

Atlanta: Several Gorillas test positive for COVID-19 in zoo

Thirteen western lowland gorillas at Zoo Atlanta have tested positive for Coronavirus.

Staff were alerted when several of the zoo’s troop of 20 western lowland gorillas began exhibiting symptoms, including runny noses, mild coughing and loss of appetite.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that fecal samples and swabs sent to the University of Georgia’s veterinary diagnostic laboratory showed that 13 of the great apes were positive for Coronavirus.

A statement released by the management of the zoo wrote;

“Recently, Gorilla Care Team members observed coughing, nasal discharge, and minor changes in appetite in several members of the gorilla population.

“Upon the onset of these signs, the Animal Care and Veterinary Teams immediately pursued testing for SARS-CoV-2. Fecal samples and nasal and oral swab samples were sent to the Athens Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory at the University of Georgia, where they tested presumptively positive.

“Zoo Atlanta is waiting to receive the results of the confirmatory tests on samples sent to the National Veterinary Services Laboratory in Ames, Iowa.”

The zoo also revealed that the gorillas at risk of experiencing COVID-19 complications, are receiving monoclonal antibodies.

The statement added;

“The teams are collecting samples for testing for the Zoo’s entire gorilla population, which includes 20 members living in four troops, and will regularly test the gorillas regardless of the presence of symptoms.”

It is believed that the gorillas were infected by an employee who was fully vaccinated and wearing Personal Protective Equipment while caring for the animals, but later tested positive for COVID-19.

The zoo said;

“While humans are known to be able to transmit the virus to animals such as gorillas, and these cases have occurred at other zoos, there is currently no data to suggest that zoo animals can transmit the virus to humans.

“Regardless, Zoo Atlanta visitors do not pose a transmission threat to the gorillas or vice versa given the distance between the areas used by guests and the animals’ habitats.

“The teams are very closely monitoring the affected gorillas and are hopeful they will make a complete recovery. They are receiving the best possible care, and we are prepared to provide additional supportive care should it become necessary.

“We are very concerned that these infections occurred, especially given that our safety protocols when working with great apes and other susceptible animal species are, and throughout the pandemic have been, extremely rigorous.”

Before the gorillas tested positive, the zoo was waiting to receive a COVID-19 vaccine made specifically for animals and approved by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and Georgia’s State Veterinarian called Zoetis.

The doses have arrived at the zoo and staff will begin administering them to “Bornean and Sumatran orangutans, Sumatran tigers, African lions, and clouded leopard. As the gorillas recover, they will also receive the vaccine.”

South Korea fires Missiles in Response to North Korea Launching of New Missiles

Both North and South Korea fired ballistic missiles on Wednesday, September 15, increasing tensions in an already hostile Korean peninsula.

North Korea fired the first missiles on Wednesday, sending two into waters off the east coast of the Korean Peninsula five minutes apart, at 12:38 p.m. and 12:43 p.m. local time (11:38 p.m. and 11:43 p.m. ET), according to Japan, who labeled the action as ‘dangerous’

South Korea, the North’s neighbor that houses tens of thousands of US troops,  replied less than three hours later with their own submarine-launched ballistic missiles (SLBM)

The South Korean missiles were fired, from a new submerged 3,700-ton submarine ROKS Dosan Ahn Changho, South Korea’s Defense Ministry said, also revealing that South Korean President Moon Jae-in was present for the test.

The missile hit its target accurately, the ministry said without giving more details.

South Korea’s weapons development, and its missile capabilities has been on an upward trend as they become more wary of the growing missile program in North Korea.

Wednesday’s missile tests from both Koreas came just a few hours after Moon met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Seoul.

China exerts some influence over North Korea, and during the meeting, Moon said Pyongyang has not been responding to efforts by Seoul and Washington to engage in dialogue concerning the situation on the peninsula

In May, South Korea’s Moon and US President Joe Biden agreed to end a 40-year-old bilateral agreement that limited the range and payload of South Korean missiles

With the missile launch, South Korea becomes the seventh military in the world to successfully test an SLBM

The other SLBM nations have nuclear weapons, although South Korea does not have nuclear weapons.

A Church Attendee ‘Became Mad’ after trying to steal the Church’s Money – Bishop Oyedepo

Bishop David Oyedepo, president and founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, has revealed how a worshipper ran mad while trying to steal from the church.

The clergyman said the person had participated in the church’s Shiloh programme but had an ulterior motive and it backfired.

Speaking at the ongoing International Youth Alive Convention 2021 in Canaanland Ota in Ogun State, Oyedepo warned that the church is “a dreadful place”.

Bishop Oyedepo shares how a worshipper ran mad after trying to steal from his church

He said: “In one of the Shilohs, I warned people and somebody was found trying to pick something that was not his and he ran mad immediately.”

Oyedepo warned youths participating in the programme to deviate from such theft.

He said: “I waited so as to sound this note of warning. ‘How dreadful is this place. This is none other but the house of God and this is the gate of heaven.

“Be warned against picking anything that is not yours. Be warned, be warned. It’s a risk. Should anyone have an ulterior mission for being in camp. Be warned, it’s a dreadful place.

“How dreadful is this place. This is none other but the house of God and the gate of heaven.

“I waited to give you this message before blessing you to go for the night. See it and look away. And don’t try it yourself.”
