Hushpuppi set to appear in court on October 13, 2020

Popular Instagram celebrity, Ramon Abbas popularly known as “Hushpuppi“ has been arraigned in a court in California, United States, ahead of his trial on October 13.

The 37-year-old Nigerian man accused of being the leader of a group that facilitates computer intrusion, business email compromise (BEC) fraud and money laundering pleaded not guilty to the four-count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, money laundering conspiracies, international money laundering and engaging in monetary transactions in property derived from specified unlawful activity.

Premium Times reported that the prosecutors kickstarted the process of arraignment by filling necessary documents and forms after his first appearance on August 17.

Hushpuppi reportedly entered a plea, insisting that he is not guilty of the charges. The Instagram celebrity will be represented in court by Vicki Podberesky, a top-rated lawyer in California and Gal Pissetzky, a Chicago-based lawyer appearing pro hac vice because he is not licensed to practise outside Chicago.

It was also learnt that Hushpuppi pleaded that he should be prosecuted with complaint and not indictment.

Lady Gaga was $3 million in debt after her Monster Ball tour

Gaga first made a splash in the music industry with her 2008 debut album “The Fame.” Since, the New York native has won nine Grammys, done five concert tours and performed at the Super Bowl. And, having sold more than 11 million albums, she’s built a sizable fortune in the process.

But she hasn’t always been flush.

“I actually went bankrupt after the first extension of The Monster Ball,” she told the Financial Times, referring to her second worldwide concert tour, which ran from 2009 to 2011. “And it was funny because I didn’t know!

“And I remember I called everybody and said, ‘Why is everyone saying I have no money? This is ridiculous, I have five No. 1 singles.’ And they said, ‘Well, you’re $3 million in debt.’”

Gaga was able to get out of the red thanks to “the sheer quality and popularity” of her work, the FT reported. And today, she’s doing well for herself: In 2018, Gaga had already earned $50 million as of July, Forbes reports.

But, as she told the FT, pursuing a career as a pop star has never been about the money: “The beauty for me about being an artist is that the dream will never die, because I’m not obsessed with material things and don’t care about the money and don’t care about the attention of the public, but only the love of my fans, so for me it’s about how much more devoted, how much better an artist can I become.”

In short, she said, “it’s honestly true that money means nothing to me.”

Gaga doesn’t mind splurging on the important things, though — and that includes her concerts, she said: “The only big things I’ve purchased are my dad’s heart valve and a Rolls-Royce for my parents, for their anniversary. … Other than that, I put everything in the show.”

Health: WHO declares Africa “Polio-free”

The World Health Organisation today August 25, declared Africa free of the wild polio virus.

The body declared the continent free of the virus after no case of the viral disease was recorded since 2016.

In a statement jointly signed by WHO Director-General, Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus; and President of Rotary International, Holger Knaack, the international body described the feat as “one of the greatest achievements in public health history.”

The statement reads in part;

“Delivering polio vaccines to every child in the African region and wiping out the wild virus is no small feat and the human resources, skills, and experience gained in the process leaves behind a legacy in how to tackle diseases and reach the poorest and most marginalized communities with life-saving services.
“Leadership from all levels of government across party lines, a historic public-private partnership that raised billions, millions of health workers reaching children across the region – from conflict zones to remote areas only accessible by motorbike or helicopter – and a culture of continual improvement were all critical to overcoming challenges and bottlenecks.
“As countries work to suppress COVID-19, many of the same basic traditional public health methods used in polio eradication, including contact tracing and surveillance, are key to breaking the chains of transmission and saving lives and livelihoods from the first coronavirus pandemic in human history.
“As recently as 2012 half of all globally recorded cases of wild poliovirus were in Nigeria, the final country in the region to rid the virus from its borders. However, as with the COVID-19 pandemic, the lesson is that it’s never too late to turn a disease outbreak around. Through hard work, new innovations and ensuring that no child was missed, Nigeria and the entire African region have now defeated polio.
“Across the region, health workers go village-to-village and door-to-door vaccinating children multiple times and offering health advice and support to the community. Hushpuppi’s Instagram posts prompted secret investigation that led to his arrest

The Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI, has explained how Huspuppi’s Instagram posts prompted a secret investigation that led to his arrest.

His showy Instagram posts raised suspicion and caused the FBI to set their sights on him.

In one of such posts, Hushpuppi wrote: “Started out my day having sushi down at Nobu in Monte Carlo, Monaco, then decided to book a helicopter to have facials at the Christian Dior spa in Paris, then ended my day having Champagne in Gucci.”

He shared the post with the hashtag #AllMine.

The FBI also said he shared a post where he was standing with a number of Bentleys, Mercedes, Ferraris, and Rolls-Royces.

The FBI added that “with some very key information, he had his email and phone number saved to his Instagram and when our boys here at the Bureau did a little digging, we were able to link the financial transactions and transfers known to be associated with co-conspirators.”

Another post was a picture of his birthday cake with a cake image of Hushpuppi and a Fendi logo on top.

The FBI adds that through that post, “investigators were able to verify his date of birth from a previous US visa application.”

“We had all we needed,” the FBI adds, so they took action.

Ramon Olorunwa Abbas was arrested in Dubai on July 2 and was then sent to the FBI in the United States of America.

He is now being held at the Metropolitan Correction Centre in Chicago.

The FBI added that after his arrest, his assets were seized. Almost $41 million in cash was seized from him at the time of his arrest. He was also in possession of luxurious vehicles worth $6.8 million which were all confiscated by the FBI.

The FBI stated that the nature of the crime committed was nothing new, however, the magnitude was overwhelming.

12-year-old girl resurrects, as her body is being prepared for funeral

A 12-year-old girl came back to life just as her family were preparing her body for her funeral.

Siti Masfufah Wardah was admitted to a hospital in Probolinggo in the Indonesian province of East Java for chronic diabetes and organ complications on August 18. She was pronounced dead at 6pm that evening.

Her body was taken to her family home an hour later to allow her relatives clean her, according to traditional Islamic funeral traditions.

But just as they were beginning to clean the body, Siti’s eyes opened and she woke up.

Her father, identified as Ngasiyo, 40, has described the shocking moment when his daughter came back from the dead.

“When her body was being bathed, her body temperature suddenly warmed,” he told local news outlet Detik.

“And her closed eyes suddenly reopened. And we found her heart was beating again and her body moved.”

Doctors were called to the scene and began giving Siti respiratory assistance and oxygen to help her breathe.

Sadly her resurrection didn’t last long and she died — again — an hour later. Her body was washed and she was buried in the Lambangkuning Village Cemetery.

Lumbang Police Chief AKP Muhammad Dugel confirmed the incident after visiting the family home.

“It’s true that there was an incident where the girl died and came back to life, after previously being treated at the Dr Mochamad Saleh Regional Hospital,” he told media.

“When she was washed her body came back to life. For about one hour [she] was alive and then died again.”

It’s believed Siti’s short second life was the result of what’s known as return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC), also called “Lazarus syndrome”.

This phenomenon sometimes occurs in people who have died of heart failure, and usually happens about 10 minutes after someone is confirmed dead following CPR.

Newly evicted Big brother Naija lockdown housemate, Praise, says contrary to public opinion, he and his former housemate, Ka3na, only kissed aggressively under the sheets and never had sex.

Few weeks into the reality TV show, social media was agog after videos of the pair moving their bodies in ecstasy under the sheets, surfaced online.

After leaving the house, Ka3na in an interview, denied reports that they had sex and stated that they only “cuddled aggressively” .

Well, Praise is also stating that what happened under the sheets between them was aggressive kissing. In an interview with Ebube, he said

”Nothing happened for sure. We cuddled and we kissed and it was very aggressive. It was looking like we were eating into each other but that was it. It was aggressive” he said

Boat driver arraigned in court by Lagos state government

A boat driver identified as Happiness Elebiju has been arraigned in court by the Lagos state government over the death of 12 persons onboard his boat in Ilashe waterfront community in July.

The driver who was arraigned on a 10 count charge bordering on involuntary manslaughter on Monday August 24, was accused of causing his passengers’ death by exceeding the capacity of the boat.

Elebiju was remanded at a correctional center after pleading not guilty before Justice Josephine Oyefeso of the Lagos State High Court sitting in Ikeja.

Justice Oyefeso adjourned the case till Thursday August 27, for the commencement of the trial after the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP), Mrs Olayinka Adeyemi asked the court for time to prepare for the trial.

World’s largest ovarian tumour weighing 110lbs removed (Photos)

The world’s largest ovarian tumour has been removed from a woman in India.

The tumor, weighing 110lbs and as heavy as a 15-year-old boy was removed from a 52-year-old woman at the private Indraprastha Apollo Hospital in Delhi.

The woman, who did not wish to be publicly named had noticed her weight balloon but was unaware of the giant growth on her ovary, according to the UK Sun.

When she was set to remove the tumour doctors discovered that the woman had swollen to almost 17 stone.

The patient had earlier complained of not being able to walk as her feet swelled. She also suffered severe anaemia which saw her haemoglobin drop.

Dr. Arun Prasad, who carried out a three and a half hour operation on the woman said he was left “shell-shocked” by the tumour.

Speaking after the operation on Saturday, Dr. Prasad said: “I have not witnessed anything like this ever before during my profession – in over three decades of experience.

“We should consider it as a miracle that the woman is recuperating well after being operated on for over 180 minutes.”

Another doctor involved in the surgery, Abhishek Tiwari, said: “She is lucky that the organs didn’t fail. Otherwise, such pressure could have proved fatal for the patient.”

Doctors said if the woman was left untreated, the tumour could have caused her ovary to explode.

Ronaldinho finally released after spending five months

Brazilian football legend, Ronaldinho was released on Monday, August 24, by a Paraguayan judge after spending five months in detention over a forged passport.

Judge Gustavo Amarilla also released Ronaldinho’s brother Roberto de Assis Moreira, who was held for a month in jail and another four months under house arrest for the same charge.

The 40-year-old former World Cup winner “is free to travel to whatever country in the world he wants but he must inform us if he changes his permanent residence” for a period of one year, the judge said.

“He has no restrictions except for the fulfilment of reparations for damage to society.”

Ronaldinho finally released after spending five months in detention over a forged passport in Paraguay

Ronaldinho accepted the terms of his release, which include payment of $90,000 in damages. His brother, who is also Ronaldinho’s business manager, must pay $110,000.

The judge explained that he was not issuing a “definitive dismissal” of the case but rather that Ronaldinho was benefitting from a “conditional suspension of the procedure.”

His brother was also given a two-year suspended sentence.

Prosecutors believe Ronaldinho had no idea about the fake Paraguayan passports but they said de Assis Moreira was likely aware that the passports were false.

Before Monday’s trial the public prosecutor said that Ronaldinho displayed no “personal characteristics or criminal behavior that … would put society at risk.

“They flagrantly used a public document containing false content,” said Marcelo Pecci, one of the public prosecutors, who said it was a “very serious” offense.

De Assis Moreira must appear before a judge in Brazil every four months for two years and will have a criminal record.

“Ronaldinho’s situation is not the same as Roberto’s. He has no obligation to appear before any Brazilian judicial authority. He must only report a change of address,” said Amarilla, who accepted a recommendation by four prosecutors to avoid the need for an oral trial.

The former footballer and his brother were arrested in March after passports were found bearing their names with Paraguayan nationality.

The pair later ended up in a Paraguay prison before they were released on house arrest after serving just 32 days behind bars.

18 people were also arrested in connection with the case, most of them immigration officials or police officers.

Ex-Congo President Pascal Lissouba dies at 88

Former Congolese president, Pascal Lissouba, is dead.

Lissouba died in Perpignan, France today Monday. August 24.

A statement from his Pan-African Union for Social Democracy (UADS) party said he died after a brief illness.

“President Lissouba passed away after an illness,” the party’s spokesman and MP Honore Sayi said

Late Lissouba was president of the Republic of Congo also called Congo-Brazzaville, from 1992 to 1997. He fled the country after being overthrown in a civil war by the current president, Denis Sassou Nguesso, who had lost the country’s first multi-party elections in 1992.

Late Lissouba was 88 years old.

The Trump campaign has released a 9-point wishlist for President Trump’s second term if re-elected.

Trump’s release of his second term agenda comes ahead of the Republican party’s National Convention on Monday night August 24, and comes after Trump has repeatedly struggled to detail what his second term might look like, which has left critics questioning whether he even had an agenda.

The campaign team, and Trump himself, plan to promote this agenda throughout the convention which will hold throughout this week.

A key criticism of the Democratic National Convention last week is that the Biden campaign failed to substantively lay out the policies Joe Biden would implement if president rather focusing heavily on Biden’s character.

Zinchenko issues statement after his wife calls out Pep Guardiola for Champions League failure

Manchester City defender Oleksandr Zinchenko, has come out to clarify comments made by his wife, after she accused his manager Pep Guardiola of being at fault for his team’s shock Champions League defeat to Lyon.

Guardiola’s 3-5-2 tactics during the match backfired, as Man City suffered a 3-1 defeat to Lyon and Zinchenko’s new bride, Vlada Sedan, who is a sports presenter in her native Ukraine, criticized Guardiola, saying on her YouTube channel : “You saw what happened. I’m not a football player, not a coach, not a critic or an analyst. I understand that my opinion is not authoritative.

“Perhaps I have no right to say this, and perhaps Zinchenko will forbid me, but to put it mildly, in order not to swear, this is completely Guardiola’s fault.

“At such a crucial moment, using such an experimental tactic for City was a bummer. I have no right to criticise, but why play three central defenders?

“I simply have no words because to have such a line-up. Look at the players City have, what a bench. Literally on a few clubs in the world can boast having such players at substitutes.”

Zinchenko has now responded to those comments saying his wife only spoke as a disappointed fan and didn’t mean to attack his boss.

The 23-year-old full-back posted on Instagram on Monday August 23: “Guys, I need to say a few things about this interview.

“First of all, I didn’t say anything bad or judgmental about our tactics so don’t confuse my words please. I was explaining that we as players understand the effects tactics have and how given we have such great experience, we can adapt to the tactics we are given.

Wow ! A woman initially pronounced dead is found alive ..

In a case of mistaken pronouncement of death, a Detroit woman who was originally pronounced dead, was later found alive.

Local media said the woman was found unresponsive inside her home in Southfield on Sunday morning, August 23. The family then called 911 and Southfield Fire.

When paramedics arrived at the scene, they confirmed the 20-year-old woman wasn’t breathing and performed CPR and other life-reviving methods for 30 minutes before she was then pronounced dead.

The Southfield Fire said in a statement: “At 7:34 a.m. on August 23, 2020, Southfield Fire Department paramedics arrived at a home in Southfield on a call for an unresponsive female. When paramedics arrived, they found a 20-year-old who was not breathing.

“The paramedics performed CPR and other life reviving methods for 30 minutes. Given medical readings and the condition of the patient, it was determined at that time that she did not have signs of life.”

“Because there was no indication of foul play, as per standard operating procedure, the Oakland County Medical Examiner’s Office was contacted and given the medical data. The patient was again determined to have expired and the body was released directly to the family to make arrangements with a funeral home of their choosing.”

“In an effort to respect the privacy of her family, the Southfield Fire Department is not currently releasing personal information on the patient.”

Local 4 reports that Southfield police allegedly saw her move and breathe and called the fire crews back, but the officials claim those were the side effects of the medication given to her.

The woman was transported to James H. Cole Funeral Home in Detroit on Schaefer Highway between 11:30 a.m. on Sunday. Employees at the funeral home later discovered that she was still breathing and very much alive.

Nigeria’s economy slows down badly..

Nigeria’s economy has entered a negative growth as confirmed in a new report released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on Monday August 24.

The country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) contracted by –6.10 per cent in the second quarter of 2020. The decline was as a result of contraction in domestic and international economic activity during the quarter (April to June 2020).

According to the NBS, the initial restrictions of human and vehicular movement implemented in only a few states, the nationwide curfew, ban on domestic and international travel, closure of schools and markets etc affecting both local and international trade were part of the domestic effort that aided in the decline.

The negative growth puts an end to a three-year trend of low but positive real growth rates recorded since the last recession in 2016.

TikTok sues U.S government over ban

TikTok has filed a lawsuit against the U.S. government challenging the Trump administration’s plan to ban the company’s American operations.

The suit, which was filed in the Federal District Court for the Central District of California on Monday, August 24, alleges that Trump’s order violates due process protections and offers no evidence to back up its claims that TikTok presents a national security threat.

“The executive order is not rooted in bona fide national security concerns,” the complaint reads, noting that “independent national security and information security experts have criticized the political nature of this executive order, and expressed doubt as to whether its stated national security objective is genuine.”

“The [Trump] administration ignored our extensive efforts to address its concerns, which we conducted fully and in good faith,” TikTok wrote in a press release. “We do not take suing the government lightly, however, we feel we have no choice but to take action to protect our rights, and the rights of our community and employees.”

“Our more than 1,500 employees across the U.S. pour their hearts into building this platform every day,” the company said

President Trump has repeatedly said that TikTok, which is owned by the Chinese internet company ByteDance, poses a national security threat because of its Chinese ties.

On August 6, he signed executive orders banning social media apps TikTok and WeChat from operating in the US in 45 days if they are not sold by their Chinese-owned parent companies.

Microsoft already expressed interest in buying TikTok after Trump said he would support the sale of TikTok’s US operations to the US company with September 15 set as the deadline for the Chinese company to find a US buyer.

Police officer in Wisconsin shoots unarmed father (Video & Photos)

An unarmed black father was shot in the back seven times by a white police officer in front of his children and a video of the incident has ignited outrage.

Wisconsin cops were called to the scene due to a domestic dispute. They responded but it ended in one of them shooting the man at around 5pm on Sunday, August 23.

Rioting and protests erupted in the wake of the shooting as the County of Kenosha declared a state of emergency and a curfew has been put into effect by authorities until 7am on Monday.

The black man, who has been identified as 29-year-old Jacob Blake, was airlifted to a Milwaukee hospital, where he is listed in serious condition following the police shooting in Kenosha that prompted neighbors to gather and confront officers at the scene on Sunday night.

Reacting to the shooting, Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers issued a statement denouncing “excessive use of force” by police.

As video of the shooting quickly went viral, more protesters took to the streets of Kenosha.

Video posted to social media shows a large crowd numbering hundreds of protesters gathered outside a Kenosha police station chanting “Black Lives Matter” and other slogans denouncing law enforcement.

Several protesters jumped on top of police squad cars and smashed windows.

One video circulating on social media shows a Kenosha police officer collapse to the pavement after witnesses said he was struck with a brick.

Another video shows a row of protesters walking toward a line of police officers clad in riot gear as simmering tensions threaten to escalate the situation.

Police did not provide details about what led to the shooting, but said the person was transported to a hospital in Milwaukee for treatment.

In a video posted on social media Sunday that appeared to show the shooting from across the street, three officers could be seen shouting and pointing their weapons at Blake, who walked around the front of an SUV parked on the street.

As Blake opened the driver’s side door and leaned inside, one officer grabbed his shirt from behind and then fired into the vehicle.

At least seven shots could be heard, though it was unclear if more than one officer fired.

Local reports indicate that Blake’s children were inside the SUV and watched as their father was gunned down.

Benjamin Crump, a civil rights attorney who represents George Floyd’s family, shared video of the incident on his Twitter feed. He noted that the shooting took place right in front of Blake’s three children.

“They saw a cop shoot their father,” Crump tweeted.

“They will be traumatized forever. We cannot let officers violate their duty to PROTECT us. Our kids deserve better!!”

Several witnesses said that Blake tried to break up a fight between two women outside a nearby home, according to Kenosha News.

NCC seeks reduction of data charges

THE Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) at the weekend urged telecommunication companies to reciprocate the reduction in the charges on Right of Way (RoW) by reducing data charges to Nigerians.

Its Executive Vice Chairman, Prof. Umar Garba Danbatta, stated this while addressing participants at the maiden virtual edition of the Telecoms Consumer Parliament (VTCP) at the NCC headquarters in Abuja

Danbatta noted that considering the steps the Federal Government had taken to reduce the charges of RoW below N145 per linear metre while some states waived the charges outright, it had become necessary for operators to reciprocate the gesture.

“The commission is hopeful that with the reduction in RoW, which will automatically result in reduction in capital expenditure (CAPEX) by the network operators, telecom companies will sooner or later reciprocate the gesture by making their services, in particular, data services, more affordable to Nigerians,” he said.

The NCC boss said the event, with the theme: Impact of COVID-19 on Telecoms Service Delivery, considered the dynamics of the global pandemic and the directives from the Federal Government on social distancing and other measures to curb the spread of COVID-19.

Danbatta said the National Assembly also provided an opportunity for industry stakeholders to examine how the pandemic was impacting service delivery in the telecommunication industry, which currently provides the digital platform for the economy to remain afloat.

“As we all are aware, telecoms is highly capital intensive and, as such, continuous network upgrade and expansion are very key to operators’ ability to deliver top-notch Quality of Service (QoS) to their consumers.

“For instance, if operators are not able to expand or they are incapacitated to expand and upgrade their network in the face of spike in traffic, as occasioned by the pandemic, it will definitely have potential grave impact on quality of service delivery.”Despite the pandemic and the lockdown to contain the spread of COVID-19 virus, we on our part have also not relented to ensure that the quality of telecom services is sustained during and post COVID–19 period,” he said.

Brazilian model accidentally ‘sets herself’ on fire

This is the shocking moment a Brazilian model accidentally set herself on fire after arguing with her girlfriend.

Katiuscia Silva Mota, 31, was captured in surveillance camera arguing with her 21-year-old girlfriend outside her apartment in the São Diogo neighbourhood of Serra on Monday, August 10.

The pair continued their argument as they went into the building before Katiuscia began to pull her partner back as she attempted to leave the building.

After letting go of her partner, Katiuscia went back inside. Soon after, she was seen running out of the building with part of her body on fire as her girlfriend and others then come to her aid and try to put out the flames.

How to redirect HTTP to HTTPS Using .htaccess

Chrome and Firefox have started showing insecure warnings on sites without SSL certificates. Without SSL, your website will show insecure to the visitors. Therefore, using an SSL-encrypted connection for safety, accessibility or PCI compliance reasons is necessary. It becomes very important to redirect from HTTP to HTTPS.

What is SSL?

SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is a standard security protocol for establishing encrypted links between a web server and a browser in an online communication.

The usage of SSL technology ensures that all data transmitted between the web server and browser remains encrypted.

An SSL certificate is necessary to create SSL connection. You would need to give all details about the identity of your website and your company as and when you choose to activate SSL on your web server. Following this, two cryptographic keys are created — a Private Key and a Public Key.

In order to force your web traffic to use HTTPS, edit the codes in the .htaccess file.

Before we move onto redirecting HTTP to HTTPS, here’s how you can edit .htaccess file. If you already know skip to Redirection steps.

Editing .htaccess File

There are instructions/directives in the .htaccess file that tell the server how to act in certain scenarios and directly affects how your website functions. Common directives in .htaccess file:

Redirects
Rewriting URLs

Ways to edit an .htaccess file:

Edit the file on your computer and upload it to the server using FTP.
Use “Edit” mode in FTP program that allows you to edit a file remotely.
Use a text editor and SSH to edit the file.
Use the File Manager in cPanel to edit the file.

Editing .htaccess in cPanel File Manager

Note: Backup your website in case something goes wrong.

Login to cPanel
Files > File Manager > Document Root for:
Now select the domain name you want to access
Check “Show Hidden Files (dotfiles)”
Click “Go”
After a new tab or window opens, look for the .htaccess file.
Right click on the .htaccess file and click on “Code Edit” on the menu.
A dialogue box may pop up asking about encoding. Click “Edit” button to continue.
Edit the file
“Save Changes” when done.
Test your website to make sure it is done correctly. In case, there is an error, restore to the previous version and try again.
Once you are done, click “Close” to close the window.

Redirecting HTTP to HTTPS

1. Redirect All Web Traffic

If you have existing code in your .htaccess, add the following:

Public Cache, Private Cache, and ESI

Disclaimer: The information contained in this post is accurate for LSCWP v1.6.6 [release log]. If you are using a newer version of the plugin, some details may have changed. Please refer to our wiki for the latest!

LiteSpeed Cache can store pages in a public cache, in private caches, and via ESI. (ESI = Edge Side Includes, which can essentially result in a public/private hybrid.) Today we’re going to visualize these three types of caching, and help you to figure out which one is best for your particular application.

Public Cache

For the sake of simplicity, let’s say that you have a site with just one page on it, and that your site has four visitors.

This piece of paper represents the page of your site as stored in public cache. All four visitors to your site’s page are shown that exact same piece of paper.

PRO: Very little storage space is required.
CON: There’s no opportunity for personalization – everyone gets the exact same page.

Any page that has no personalized content whatsoever is a good candidate for public cache.

A blog archive page, for instance, could work, if it has no Admin Bar at the top, and there are no areas on the page that say “Welcome, Sally” or anything of that kind. When Sally visits the page, she sees exactly the same content as Linus, Charlie, and Lucy do when they visit.

Many simple sites do just fine with public cache. If you don’t allow your visitors to create logins, and you don’t create any special content based on data that you can learn from their IP address (for instance), the chances are very good that public cache will be adequate for your site.

So what do you do if your visitors can create logins, or you do want to display the weather for their IP’s city?

You’re going to need more paper for that.

Private Cache

When you have LSCache configured to save a page in private cache, it’s as if you have a whole pile of papers, one for each visitor to that page.

PRO: You can personalize each paper to a great extent – different colors, different patterns, a completely different design if you like…
CON: A lot more space is required to store all of those individual pages.

A classic example of data that should be cached privately is a shopping cart. You certainly do not want every visitor to your shop to be served the exact same shopping cart page. The contents of Sally’s cart are bound to differ from the contents of Linus’s cart.

The simplest way to deal with this is to store the shopping cart page in private cache. Or, in terms of our paper metaphor, set aside a new piece of paper for each visitor who accesses the page.

This is fairly simple to set up, but you have to be careful if you have storage limitations. It’s not a big deal with our 4-person example, but if you have 10,000 visitors to one page, that’s 10,000 copies of that page in private cache. It adds up!

So, what if you have a page with only a very small amount of private content on it? Is there an alternative to storing thousands of copies of the full page, when it’s only a tiny area of the page that is changing?

Sure there is, and it’s called ESI.

Public Cache with ESI Blocks

When you use ESI (or, Edge Side Includes), you are storing the full page in public cache: a single piece of paper like we had earlier. The difference is that now you are punching holes where the private information needs to go, and caching those holes differently.

When a visitor requests the page, they are served the one single page, but with their own set of special blocks plugging up the holes.

PROs: Very little space is required, and there’s room for a small amount of personalization.
CON: It consumes more resources to show a visitor a page that needs to be assembled from several pieces than it does to show them a page that is already intact.

Let’s look at that shopping cart again. In many cases, the shopping cart block in the middle of the page is the only piece that differs from visitor to visitor. The header, the footer, a sidebar or two, and possibly some displayed shipping policies may be exactly the same for everyone. In this case, it could be better to keep serving the full page from public cache, but punch a hole in it for the private shopping cart contents.

ESI is best used in situations where most of the page is public, but one or two sections of it are not. A personalized greeting, the aforementioned Admin Bar, a widget showing the visitor’s recent activity… those are all things that can be put inside an ESI block and cached differently than the rest of the page.

The biggest pitfall with using ESI is in using it too much on a single page. If you have many areas of private content on a page, the effort that the server must go through in order to reassemble the pieces can negate the caching benefits. For pages with a lot of private content, it’s better just to cache the whole page privately.

What Type of Cache is Right for You?

As you can see, all three configurations have pros and cons associated with them. You’ll need to look at your own site, and what you are trying to accomplish with it.

Can you get away with storing just a single page for everyone? Do you need to store a whole separate page for each of your visitors? Or can you use a single page with a few holes punched into it?

Furthermore, does the same strategy apply to every page on your site, or can you cache some pages differently than others?

Keep in mind that the examples in the chart above are just that: examples. Even though “blog post page” is listed in the “Public” row, there could certainly be situations where blog post pages contain areas of private content. It depends on the theme and configuration of the site.

Neymar in tears after losing UEFA champions league final (Photos)

Football star, Neymar, was left in tears after his club side Paris st Germain, suffered a 1-0 Champions League final loss to Bayern Munich in Lisbon on Sunday night, August 23.

At the end of the match, Neymar, 28 had to be consoled in the dugout by PSG sporting director Leonardo.

If PSG had won, it would have been Neymar’s first champions league title since leaving Barcelona in 2016.

Barcelona captain Lionel Messi, could be bought by PSG, Inter Milan or Juventus, as reports continue to linger that the Barcelona football legend wants to leave the club after a disappointing trophyless campaign with the club.

According to reports, Messi, 33, reportedly met with new Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman, with rumours circulating that Messi is more ‘out than in’ at the La Liga giants.

According to a report by Spanish news outlet Sport, PSG, Inter and Juventus are prepared to make offers for Messi and it could be a world-record deal.

The report says each club has enough financial power to attract Messi’s high-profile signature should he decide to move away from Barcelona.

The report goes on to say that Inter Milan have an advantage as footballers pay less tax in Italy, while the Serie A club could also use reported Barcelona target Lautaro Martinez as makeweight in a potential offer.

Juventus bosses could also see the possibility of uniting Messi with archrival Cristiano Ronaldo, although that move could pose financial problems for the club.

As for French club, PSG, who made the shock move for ex-Barcelona man Neymar back in 2017, the Ligue 1 club’s Qatari owners could unite Messi and Neymar once more at PSG.

“I infected my children with COVID-19” — Omotola

Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has opened up on her Coronavirus experience while reacting to a debate on how Nollywood can adhere strictly to the health guidelines of COVID-19 before reopening productions on the popular filmmakers’ WhatsApp group, Filmic.

Vanguard reported that the veteran actress said she was treated by some infectious decease doctors who told her that many people are infected with the virus because there’s no widespread testing.

Omotola further revealed that when most people feel unwell, they attribute it to malaria, diarrhea among other ailments.

Recalling how she contracted the disease on a movie set, the actress said;

“I hardly fall ill and so when I left the set and started having chills the next day or so, I knew something wasn’t right. I thought it might be stress. This was on Monday, August 3. I waited till Tuesday and it got worse. I was shaking uncontrollably and my temperature was going through the roof.”

She also disclosed that infected her son and daughter with the virus. Omotola added;

“My spirit told me immediately, this is not malaria or fever. I have been extremely careful and paranoid about this COVID-19 stuff. So I told hubby I needed to be tested immediately. I have a son that has Asthma!
“They came to test me on Wednesday and my result came out on Thursday evening … Positive. My world crashed. I felt crazy and empty.
“My symptoms were high fever and chills… luckily no other. But it was so bad, they contemplated coming to evacuate me as my viral loaf was high and I wasn’t getting better … but God arose for me. I went into isolation immediately. We got my result but my daughter started feeling funny.
“So they had to come test the whole family … I had infected my daughter and asthmatic son ! My God showed up for me as my son is asymptotic, so positive but not sick ! My daughter lost her smell and taste and had severe diarrhea. All has stopped now, thank God.
“My husband and last son tested negative respectively. We are all now in remission … taking another test soon.
“It’s physically, spiritually and emotionally exhausting as the doctors tell you it’s a 50/50 chance . Nothing you do really saves you . You can only take the vitamins, manage the symptoms and hope your body fights”

Paul Pogba will not be sold by Manchester United

Paul Pogba’s agent, Mino Raiola has announced that the Manchester United star, will not be sold this summer as new contract discussions will start soon.

Pogba, 27, was signed for £89m from Juventus in 2016 and helped United finish third in the Premier League last season. Under former Manager Jose Mourinho, Pogba had announced he wanted to leave the club but with the influx of new signings and United’s qualification to the Champions League, Pogba now looks set to commit his future to the club.

Pogba, whose deal runs until next summer, made only eight appearances in all competitions before English football was suspended in mid-March because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Bayern Munich wins the 2019/2020 UEFA Champions League (photos)

Bayern Munich have won the UEFA champions league.

The German champions beat PSG 1-0 on Sunday night, August 23 to crown a superb season that has seen them excel in all competitions they have played.

PSG who fought superbly throughout the contest lost the match after Bayern player Kingsley Coman scored a header shortly before the hour mark.

PSG had some great chances to score but were denied consecutively by a resolute Bayern defense team focused on making history with another UEFA Champions league success.

PSG’s captain Thiago Silva apologised to supporters following the defeat.

“It was my last game in Paris. I am sad. I apologise to the fans. I thank all the fans for their love. I will return to Paris in another role. I want to play three-to four years again and play the HOM in Qatar,’ he said.

At 55, Bayern Munich coach Flick is now the fourth-oldest coach to get his hands on the Champions League, with Bayern legend Jupp Heynckes, at 68, leading that ranking.

In his 36 matches in charge so far Flick has won 33, his side scoring an incredible 116 goals while conceding just 26.

It is Bayern’s sixth win in the European Cup/Champions League, placing them joint-third in the overall trophy standings behind only Real Madrid, who have lifted the title 13 times, and AC Milan (seven).

Three feared dead as IPOB and DSS clash in Enugu (graphic)

A clash between members of the Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB and operatives of the Department of State Security DSS has left at least three persons dead and several others injured at Emene, Enugu state today August 24.

According to reports, trouble started at about 7:00am when some policemen invaded Community Secondary School in Emene where members of the group were meeting to disperse and arrest them. The attempt was resisted, with the IPOB members reportedly overpowering the security operatives.

In a swift reaction, a large reinforcement of security agents was called and over a dozen patrol vans loaded with armed policemen, army, and DSS personnel arrived at the scene and faced the Biafran agitators.

The number of casualties is yet unknown.

Kim Jong-Un allegedly in a coma as his sister Kim Yo-Jong is set to take over

North Korean dictator, Kim Jong-un is ‘in a coma’ with the country now preparing to hand power to his sister, ex-diplomat has claimed.

Chang Song-min, an ex-aide to late-South Korean president Kim Dae-jung believes North Korea is hiding the truth about their leader’s health despite reports that Kim was pictured just a few days ago.

Pictures emerged last Thursday, August 20, showing Kim attending a government meeting but news outlet Reuters said it could not “independently verify” the images as they were released by the secretive country.”

Speaking with local media, Chang Song-min said: “I assess him to be in a coma, but his life has not ended.”

He spoke as North Korea reportedly handed over some powers to the dictator’s sister Kim Yo-jong, 33.

Chang added: “A complete succession structure has not been formed, so Kim Yo-jong is being brought to the fore as the vacuum cannot be maintained for a prolonged period.

This comes after South Korea’s spy agency, the National Intelligence Service (NIS), reported that Kim will gradually transfer authority to his sister Kim Yo-jong “to ease stress” despite his young age.”

The agency added that the ruthless leader will still “exert absolute power” from behind the scenes while insisting the move was not linked to the tyrant’s health.

Back in April, there were speculations that Kim had died or was in a vegetative state but the rumors were later rubbished when the dictator was pictured at the opening of a fertiliser factory 30 miles north of capital Pyongyang.

If you look at the way we carry ourselves and project ourselves here, there is a lot of difference between us and our European counterparts. The Europeans play with all their hearts, but we take it easy as if there is nothing at stake.”

When asked if he would accept an offer to coach the Super Eagles, he said: ”I have always answered this question in a particular way. To be a coach is not the only way you can help a team to succeed. There are many other ways. Like in Europe here, they have motivational speakers to stir up their spirits.

“The one that is emotionally down, maybe he finds himself not playing well, he goes through that process in order to get well. Somebody can be in the technical team, helping the coach to select players in their various positions. If you look at some teams today, they seem to have players who play in the same position but scattered in different positions.

“When you do that, you can’t have a strong team. One can help the national team in the area of fitness, welfare, disciplinary aspect because some players could be better players if they were disciplined, etc. Sometimes it could be bad lifestyles and you help them.”

Chidi won 20 caps for Nigeria, and was part of the squads for the 1994 FIFA World Cup and the 1988 Summer Olympics.

Mafikizolo singer, Theo Kgosinkwe has finally walked down the aisle with his model heartthrob, Vourne Williams.

The 47-year-old singer had proposed to Vourne on her 26th birthday in July 2019. He serenaded her with a guitar before getting down on one knee at the end of the song to ask her to marry him.

Theo and Vourne got married in a small and intimate ceremony over the weekend thanks to Coronavirus, but they promised to hold a big celebration in 2021.

Update: Maguire fought with Albanian ‘gangster’ before his arrest

It has been revealed that Manchester United captain, Harry Maguire was arrested after trying to help his sister who had been stabbed in the arm by a “gangster-style” Albanian businessman while on holiday on the island of Mykonos.

According to the Sun, the England international was with partner Fern in a bar in Mykonos on Thursday when his sister Daisy was approached by a group of Albanian men.

As one of the men started chatting up Daisy, she reportedly turned him down and was attacked in the arm with a sharp metal straw, drawing blood and causing her to faint.

When Harry stepped in, things got heated and a fight broke out before undercover police officers arrived at the scene and tried to intervene. In the process of breaking the fight, three men including the England international allegedly fought back physically and verbally while resisting arrest.

A source said: “Harry saw what was happening and remonstrated with them and things got heated.

“He decided to try to get out of there and wanted to hail a taxi. But he ended up arguing with some undercover police officers and ended up at the local police station.”

After his arrest, he pleaded not guilty to charges of assault, verbal abuse, and bribery after the alleged altercation with police and was released from Police custody.

A hearing which will be heard on the island of Syros on Tuesday, August 25, and Maguire will be represented at the hearing by his legal team. He has since returned to England.

Canadian rapper, Drake took to his Instagram stories to show off his massive collection of Kobe sneakers to pay tribute to the NBA legend on what would have been his 42nd birthday.

Kobe Bryant died on Jan. 26 in a helicopter crash that also killed his 13-year-old daughter Gianna and seven others.

Earlier this month, Orange County’s Board of Supervisors voted to officially declare Aug. 24 as “Kobe Bryant Day” in the Southern California county, a community where Bryant and his family have been a huge part of.

The basketball legend was an 18-time All-Star who won five National Basketball Association, NBA, championships with the Los Angeles Lakers. He wore No. 8 at the start of his NBA career and later switched to No. 24 during the 2006-07 NBA season until his retirement in 2016. Both of Bryant’s jersey numbers have been retired by the Lakers.

Vincent said that he lost his dad at a very young age and his mom passed away when he was four. Two years after that at age six, he started hawking bread to survive.

A year after that, he started his primary school education, which happened in the year he ran away from home. At age eight, he sold things like okra, garden egg, garri, fish, and others. Between the age of 10 and 19, he had to wade through many challenges like surviving flood, dropping out of school, and failing WAEC.

Many people on Twitter have been inspired by Nyifamu Ogechi Manzo’s successful poultry farm – The young Nigerian lady says she started the business in a spare room her dad allowed her and her brother to use in 2019, the business has grown into something big today.

She also noted that investors supported her business with over N1 million and got their returns after six months.

She wrote: “We started from 50 birds and then 70, 100 and 120 birds over time.”

Nyifamu said she thought of expanding her business and owning a farm since she had built relations and acquired a good number of customers.

The young lady said she made her costing for 800 birds capacity pen. She wrote:

“January 1st, I made a post on my WhatsApp status asking for investment with interest in 6 months for expansion of my poultry farm and in 11 days friends and family showed up for me with over a million naira.”

The interior of the restaurant gives customers the feeling of dining on air for those customers that love travelling. The said lady could be identified by the twitter handle @NnekaEdekobi.

The interior of the restaurant is a replica of an airplane and customers are given the feeling of dining on air.

Update: Harry Maguire released from Police custody

Manchester United captain, Harry Maguire has been released after pleading not guilty to charges following an alleged altercation with police while on holiday on the island of Mykonos.

The 27-year-old England international was released from police custody pending a hearing which will be heard on the island of Syros on Tuesday, August 25.

Maguire will be represented at the hearing by his legal team, meaning he is free to travel back to Manchester this weekend.

A Manchester United statement said: “Following the appearance in court today we note the adjournment of the case to allow the legal team to consider the case file.

“Harry has pleaded not guilty to the charges. It would be inappropriate for the player or club to comment further while the legal process takes its course.”

Maguire was one of three men arrested by police on the island of Mykonos in the early hours of Friday morning, August 21.

Reports said he was involved in an altercation with other British tourists last night. When the officers tried to intervene, three men including the England international allegedly fought back physically and verbally while resisting arrest.

A statement by the Hellenic Police alleged that one of their officers was hit in an altercation with the three men, who later “resisted, pushing and beating” officers when transported to a police station.

“Three foreigners, aged 27, 28 and 29, were arrested today (August 21, 2020) in Mykonos by police officers of the Mykonos police department,” the statement read.

“Patrolling police officers in the area of Mykonos intervened and normalised a dispute between citizens, however, three foreigners involved in the incident turned against them, insulting and hitting a police officer with fists.

“The three foreigners were taken to the Mykonos police station, where upon their arrival they strongly resisted, pushing and beating three police officers.

“One of the detainees then tried to offer money so that the trial against them would not be completed. The arrested (men) were taken to the Syros prosecutor’s office.”

Coronavirus will be with us 'forever' and will require regular vaccinations, expert warns

An expert has warned that Coronavirus will be present “forever”.

Sir Mark Walport, a member of the Government’s Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (Sage), also said that people are likely to need regular vaccinations against the deadly virus.

Walport, who is a former chief scientific adviser, told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme, that the pandemic would be controlled by “global vaccination” but it is not “going to be a disease like smallpox which could be eradicated by vaccination”.

He added: “This is a virus that is going to be with us forever in some form or another and almost certainly will require repeated vaccinations.

“So a bit like flu, people will need re-vaccination at regular intervals.”

Scientists around the world have been battling for months to try to get an effective coronavirus vaccine ready for mass use. The most promising results so far have come out of Oxford University, where a vaccine is in the final stages of testing before it receives approval for public distribution.

Walport said localised lockdowns are the best way to go at the moment to reduce a spike in the spread of Covid-19.

He said: “The whole point is to improve the local control, increase the amount of testing, give guidance to avoid that happening, but is there a situation where it could get out of control?

“Well obviously that’s possible and that’s why it’s so important that we’ll work together.

“People do understand that this is a risk.

“If it’s allowed to get out of control, then there could be much more draconian measures.”

Boko Haram attack Borno community, abducting over 100 persons

Suspected members of the Boko Haram sect have attacked Kukawa, a town in Borno State, and reportedly abducted over 100 persons.

According to sources in the Civilian Joint Task Force, the insurgents drove into the town with over 20 trucks and announced their entry with sporadic gunshots, engaging the Nigerian troops stationed in the town for over 30 minutes.

Thisday reports that the insurgents reportedly abducted over 100 persons after they were able to suppress and push back the military.

“At around 4pm on Tuesday, terrorists in about 20 trucks overran the town of Kukawa. They engaged soldiers guarding the people in a ferocious firefight.
After about 30 minutes of engaging the military in ferocious fire exchange, they (insurgents) were able to overpower them and went away with over 100 hostages.” a source said

The Nigerian Army is yet to react to this recent development.

Jeffrey Marty wants the marriage annulled ..

American actress, Stacey Dash’s estranged husband has reportedly filed to annul their marriage over claims he was ‘hypnotized’ into marrying her.

According to TMZ, Jeffrey Marty is said to have claimed that he got married to the Clueless star, 53, after ‘hypnotic prayer techniques’ were used by a pastor who put ‘serious religious pressure on him’.

The site reported that Jeffrey filed new court papers in response to Stacy’s divorce petition and he claimed he married her 10 days after meeting her because her pastor ‘unexpectedly and suddenly proclaimed that it was God’s will’ that they got married.

Jeffrey alleged that he was unable to consent to the nuptials as ‘hypnotic prayer techniques’ were used and there was ‘pressure from other clergies’ when they got married on April 6, 2018.

TMZ claims the actress and her lawyer ‘don’t fully admit’ to the claims as he didn’t show any unusual signs about his mental state at the time.

She is also asking the judge to annul the marriage as soon as possible.

Stacey and Jeffrey tied the knot in a secret ceremony just days after they met in April 2018.

Maguire to spend second night in Greek jail

THE £85million England international Harry Maguire will be spending a second day in jail after he was allegedly involved in a bust-up with a group of other Englishmen before becoming ‘very abusive and aggressive’ towards officers who arrived to intervene on the island of Mykonos.

Maguire, 27, spent the night in a cell along with two other men thought to be fellow players, aged 28 and 29, and the trio has been transferred to the neighbouring island of Syros where they will appear before the state prosecutor tomorrow on charges including aggravated assault, verbal assault and attempted bribery.

The maximum sentennce for bribery in Greece is three years in prison but Maguire’s lawyer said he denies all wrongdoing. She said: ‘Maguire denies the allegations against him. Fortunately, we will get rid of it tomorrow.’

The chief prosecutor told local media that he expects Maguire to make an apology at the hearing.

MESSI: More worries for Barca’s superman

Questions have been raised about Lionel Messi’s future at Barcelona after their Champions League capitulation against Bayern Munich last week.

Barcelona’s worst ever defeat in Europe, an 8-2 mauling at the hands of Bayern Munich, signalled the end of Quique Setien as coach but it feels like the end of more than that.

Barcelona have invested heavily but ineffectively, spending more than £350 million on three players, two of whom started from the bench on Friday – with the other, Philippe Coutinho, scoring twice for Bayern Munich. Ousmane Dembele returned to the bench following a nine-month injury lay-off but was unused, while Antoine Griezmann has not replicated his Atletico Madrid form.

“The club needs changes,” said Gerard Pique. “Nobody is untouchable, least of all me. Fresh blood is needed to change this. We’ve hit rock bottom.”

Lionel Messi was supposed to win it alone, the Argentinian charged with somehow masking the failings of an entire club against the most formidable team in Europe.

It was a desperate hope, swiftly dashed by a ruthless Bayern side, whose demolition exposed Barcelona’s ageing team for what Messi has been saying all along: they are simply not good enough.

He said it in February and again in July, when a rant in the aftermath of handing Real Madrid the title turned into a brutal, but honest, assessment of their season.

Barcelona’s new manager Ronald Koeman’s biggest task might be to try and convince the six time Ballon d’Or winner to stay with the club.

Before that though he must improve a side that threw away the lead in La Liga to fierce rivals Real Madrid before one of the worst performances in the club’s history saw them knocked out of Europe in embarrassing fashion for the third season in-a-row.

“He’s still got a contract and is still a Barcelona player,” said Koeman.

“At this point I need to speak to him because he is the captain.

“We need to work with him and speak with various players. We need to make some decisions but in Messi’s case I hope he stays with us.

“I don’t know if I have to convince Messi [to stay], whether it’s that or not. He is the best player in the world and the best player in the world you want in your team, you don’t want him playing against you.

“As a coach I would love to work with Messi because he wins matches. If he’s at the ability and level he has always shown I’d be more than happy for him to stay.”

It is five years since Barcelona and Messi last won the Champions League, with the diminutive Argentinian now 33 and coming towards the end of his career. The club have been unable to provide their talisman with the support required for him to continue his prolific form, and he has been overshad owed this season by Bayern’s Robert Lewandowski who fired in 54 goals in all competitions.

It is also worth noting that Messi has not yet signed a new contract with Barcelona and there had been reports that he wouldn’t sign but instead leave the club next summer, although nothing had been made official.

If Messi chooses to leave Barcelona, he could seek a reunion with former manager Pep Guardiola at Manchester City although Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu recently named Lionel Messi as being untouchable & non-transferable.

The club is in disarray, with the president having become hugely unpopular amongst the fan base, but Bartomeu has said that the star forward is going nowhere and also listed five other players who won’t be sold.

“Messi is untouchable & non-transferable,” the 57-year-old told a press conference on Tuesday, “He knows it, and we all know it.

“But there are various non-transferable players like (Marc Andre) Ter Stegen, (Clement) Lenglet, (Nelson) Semedo, (Frenkie) De Jong, (Antoine) Griezmann, and (Ousmane) Dembele… players we are counting on in the future.”

Inter Milan have also been linked with the striker over the last couple of years, and are not short of money with Messi’s former national team team-mate Javier Zanetti serving as the club’s vice-president.

The question now is if Messi leaves Barcelona, could the Catalans survive without their mercurial talisman?

With Messi already 33, it is likely the club have already begun preparations for their future without him, although a Messi-less Barcelona is hard to contemplate. The six-time Ballon d’Or winner has spent his entire senior career at the Nou Camp, but with his current deal expiring next year, his future remains uncertain. Undoubtedly, Barcelona would find it almost impossible to replace the player who has scored over 700 goals for the club since 2003, and would have to rebuild the team.

Barcelona do not have the money right now to make big additions, meaning they may have to look within with Frenkie de Jong, Ansu Fati and Riqui Puig, smothered this season by the failures of those ahead of them, perhaps ready to be trusted to lead.

But that would be a long-term project, which the club cannot guarantee either given their presidential elections are due in 2021. A year might even feel like a long time for the current president Josep Maria Bartomeu, who would not rule out the elections being brought forward.

“Today (After the Bayern game) was a disaster,” he said. “Some decisions we had already thought to take and others we will think about in the next few days.”

Since 2014, his board has stumbled from blunder to blunder, all the while alienating the dressing room and driving this period of chaos and decline.

It began with Neymar leaving and never being replaced, the frantic attempts to bring him back then failing because the funds had been squandered elsewhere.

BBNaija Lockdown: Week five recap and findings..

BIG Brother Naija Lockdown entered its fifth week on Sunday, August 16 after four weeks and 29 days of frills and thrills.

In the fifth week, 15 housemates got viewers’ talking and rooting for favourite housemates as Kaisha joins the growing list of evicted housemates that include Tochi, Eric, Ka3na, Lilo.

Unlike Tochi’s eviction that got tongues wagging, Kaisha’s eviction seemed expected as fans, viewers and even Kaisha expected the eviction.

Here is a quick recap of the fifth week of the reality TV show that kicked off on Sunday, July 19.

Kiddwaya takes over the house’s leadership

On Monday, August 17, Kiddwaya emerged the winner of the Head of House challenge, hence, collecting the mantle of leadership from his love interest, Erica. To announce his deputy, Kiddwaya was reminded that Erica can’t be chosen because she already held the position of HoH. Kiddwaya was left with one choice and he went for the calculative TolaniBaj. After three weeks of losing out on their wager and winning it in the third week under the leadership of Ozo, Kiddwaya exhibited plans to ensure a wager win in the fifth week under his leadership. To exert his authority, Kiddwaya had lashed out on housemates leaving Lucy and other housemates to revolt. He later ate the humble pie and apologised to the housemates.

Housemates win cash prizes

Some of the 15 housemates left in the BBNaija Lockdown house for the fifth week have continued to win cash prizes between Monday, August 17, and Wednesday, August 19. Five housemates, Laycon, Nengi, Prince, Wathoni, and Praise, won themselves a total of N2 million in the Hawaii challenge. The five housemates shared the sum with each member of the team receiving N400,000 each.

The ‘Ships’

As expected, the fondness among the housemates keeps growing. After the exit of Lilo and Eric from the show, more bonds have been formed. However, the strongest of the Ships remain Neo and Vee’s relationship. The pair proved they were serious with one another when Neo sacrificed all his BBNaira for the week as well as a shirt just to secure a bouquet for Vee on her 24th birthday. Kiddwaya remains smitten with Erica all she has urged him to learn romance from Neo. Prince and Tolanibaj’s ship seems to be heading for the rocks fast as she opens up on how she has been discovering something new all through the week that points to their ship heading for rocks. Also worthy of mention is Bright O and Wathoni’s ship. The two seem to be starting something new as Dorathy seems to have taken a step back to allow the lovebirds to enjoy their time together. On Thursday, August 20, Bright O and were seen under the duvet discussing mutual likeness.

Erica, Wathoni keep growing apart

Erica and Wathoni have not been enjoying the best of time together. The warring housemates have failed woefully in sustaining friendship in the house. While Wathoni maintains that she can’t stand Erica’s gut, the former Head of House says she won’t force any relationship with the Kenyan-Nigerian housemate. While Erica has repeatedly told other housemates that she’s not bothered about Wathoni’s untold affection for Kiddwaya, Wathoni says Erica’s only problem with her is her insecurity over Kiddwaya.

Biggie goes on a secret vacation

In the fifth week, the Head of House, Kiddwaya, was asked to take over the affairs of the house as Biggie embarked on a secret vacation. The instruction came shortly after Kiddwaya emerged the Head of House on Monday, August 17. 27-year-old Kiddwaya and TolaniBaj were saddled with the duties of Biggie, who revealed that he will be going on vacation, hence, his voice will be missing in the house for the next few days. Biggie, however, instructed Kiddwaya to ensure that activities in the house are managed diligently and no housemate must know about Biggie’s secret vacation. To communicate with Kiddwaya, Biggie rings the house and Kiddwaya reports to the Diary room to get instructions on challenges and games.

Nehemiah is now to be charged for culpable homicide and criminal conspiracy

Nehemiah Adejor, the prime suspect who drove the car that killed Nigeria’s first female fighter helicopter, Flying Officer Tolulope Arotile, is now to be charged for culpable homicide and criminal conspiracy.

This is coming after two of the three suspects arrested in connection to the Air Force officer’s death, were set free by Kaduna State Magistrate Court 1.

Though the police noted that there is no premeditation in the death of Arotile, when the case came up on Thursday August 20, the prosecution Counsel DSP Martins D. Leo prayed the Court to discharge the 2nd and 3rd suspects, Folorunsho Igbekele Faith and Gbayegun Deji as their investigation did not find them wanting.

A legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecution, Bayero Dari Esq which was read out in court revealed that there is sufficient evidence to prosecute the 1st suspect, Nehemiah Adejor for culpable homicide not punishable with death.

It read;

“On the 14 day of July, 2020′ the suspect all male of Auta Alkali Farin Gida, Mando Kaduna inside a Kia Sorento with Registration. No AZ 478 MKA Kaduna being driven by the 1st suspect sited the deceased (NAF/4512F Flying officer Tolulope Arotile) at NAF Base Kawo, Kaduna, whom they identified as their school mate at Air force Secondary school, Kaduna.
“The 1st suspect, full of enthusiasm, recklessly reversed the car in order to meet the deceased and in the process ran over her consequent upon which the deceased lay unconsciously on the ground. The deceased was rushed to NAFX64 Base Hospitàl-for- medical attention but was later pronounced dead by the medical Doctors at the Hospital.
“The suspects were arrested and taken to 461 NAF Hospital Kaduna for toxicology test and results were all negative. They were later transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Kaduna on the 24th day of July, 2020 for further discreet investigation.
“Police investigation reveals that all the suspects attended the same secondary school with the deceased and upon sighting her the 1st suspect recklessly reversed the car and eventually ran over the deceased which led to her untimely death.
“The 1st suspect admitted in his cautionary statement that on the 14th day of July, 2020 he was together with the two other suspects in a car KIA Sorento he was driving, when he saw the deceased walking along the roadside of the Air force Base.
“He informed the other suspects who screamed enthusiastically after which he stopped and started reversing the car in order to meet the deceased and exchange pleasantries. In the process of which he mistakenly ran over her and she later died. He denied having any premeditated plan to kill her.
“The 2nd suspect also stated in his cautionary statement that on the fateful day he along with the 1st and 3rd suspect went on hangout and on their way back the 1st suspect cited the deceased whom they later saw and became extensively happy. That the 1st suspect stopped the car and began to reverse same in order to meet up with the deceased and exchange greetings since they have not met a long time.
“That when he noticed the 1st suspect was driving speedily off the road he cautioned him, but unfortunately he got confused and ran over the deceased. He out rightly denied any arrangement to cause the death of the deceased.
“He added that being a trained nurse he assisted in resuscitating the deceased at the hospital but all attempt proved abortive until she was pronounced clinically dead.
“In his cautionary statement, the 3rd suspect corroborated the statement of the 2nd suspect in all material particulars as to the events of the 14th day of July, 2020, as it relates to the death of Flying Officer Tolutope Arotile at NAF Base Kaduna.
“It is clear also from the investigation done; the 2nd and 3rd suspects were passengers and friends of the 1st suspect who was driving the vehicle.
“From the foregoing there is sufficient evidence to prosecute the 1st suspect for the offence of Culpable Homicide not punishable with death contrary to Section 191 of the Kaduna State Penal Code Law, 2017 as there is no premeditation in the death of the deceased.
“There is however insufficient evidence against the 2nd and 3rd suspects as the entire investigation did not disclose any offence against them other than being passengers in the vehicle of the 1st suspect.
“To prosecute them therefore will be embarking on an evidential conjuncture totally unknown to our Criminal Justice System, they can be discharged accordingly pursuant to Section 125 (6) (e) of the Kaduna State Administration of Criminal Justice Law, 2017 and thereafter be used as prosecution witnesses in the trial of the 1st suspect.”

It was further learnt that Nehemiah Adejor is going to be arraigned at the State High Court for culpable homicide not punishable with death on the 3rd of September, 2020.

Though the police noted that there is no premeditation in the death of Arotile, when the case came up on Thursday August 20, the prosecution Counsel DSP Martins D. Leo prayed the Court to discharge the 2nd and 3rd suspects, Folorunsho Igbekele Faith and Gbayegun Deji as their investigation did not find them wanting.

A legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecution, Bayero Dari Esq which was read out in court revealed that there is sufficient evidence to prosecute the 1st suspect, Nehemiah Adejor for culpable homicide not punishable with death.

It read;

“On the 14 day of July, 2020′ the suspect all male of Auta Alkali Farin Gida, Mando Kaduna inside a Kia Sorento with Registration. No AZ 478 MKA Kaduna being driven by the 1st suspect sited the deceased (NAF/4512F Flying officer Tolulope Arotile) at NAF Base Kawo, Kaduna, whom they identified as their school mate at Air force Secondary school, Kaduna.
“The 1st suspect, full of enthusiasm, recklessly reversed the car in order to meet the deceased and in the process ran over her consequent upon which the deceased lay unconsciously on the ground. The deceased was rushed to NAFX64 Base Hospitàl-for- medical attention but was later pronounced dead by the medical Doctors at the Hospital.
“The suspects were arrested and taken to 461 NAF Hospital Kaduna for toxicology test and results were all negative. They were later transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Kaduna on the 24th day of July, 2020 for further discreet investigation.

Woman and her children commit suicide for Covid 19 stigma

The wife and two children of a man who died of Coronavirus have reportedly committed suicide after they were shunned by relatives and friends following his death.

Parimi Snuneetha, 50, her son Narasaiah Phanikumar, 25, and 23-year-old daughter Lakshmi Aparna, ended their lives by jumping off a bridge in Andhra Pradesh’s Rajahmundry on Wednesday. August 19.

According to police, after the death of 52-year-old Narasaiah, who was infected with Coronavirus four days ago, his family went into depression.

Officers claimed they felt “humiliated” after relatives and friends failed to comfort them after their loss.

Police recovered a suicide note in the family’s car close to the bridge. The note said that the family was a victim of the social stigma surrounding the virus and decided to kill themselves.

Police are still trying to recover the bodies from the river.

It was also reported that the social stigma around coronavirus in India has seen some sufferers and their families being treated as outcasts.

According to India Today, a mum in West Bengal tried to kill herself and her two children last month after her husband died of Coronavirus.

Barcelona president, Josep Maria Bartomeu has ruled out Neymar’s return back to the La Liga club.

The Brazilian forward moved to Paris Saint-Germain in 2017 in a £198million deal, but is being linked with a return to the Nou Camp with two bids already rejected by PSG in 2019.

Last week, there were reports that Barca could make another attempt to re-sign the 28-year-old following their’s 8-2 Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich. But Bartomeu has now insisted that it’s impossible for the club to bring the Brazilian star back.

‘Going for a player when the club he is in doesn’t want to sell him is impossible, Bartomeu told Barca TV.

‘Last summer we tried. He is a player who, with the pandemic situation, his club does not put him in the market.

‘It is normal. The big clubs want great players.’

Shock as 'dead' woman comes back to life and climbs off mortuary slab

An elderly woman who was pronounced dead came back to life after a night in a hospital morgue in Russia.

Zinaida Kononova, 81, was pronounced dead after surgery in Russia to remove an intestinal obstruction.

Her family was informed and began planning her funeral. She was taken to the morgue in Gorshechensky central district hospital at 1:10am on 14 August.

Almost seven hours later at 8am a female morgue worker “got the shock of her life” when she found the grandmother sprawled on the floor.

The woman had fallen as she attempted to climb off the morgue table and escape.

An ambulance driver overheard the commotion as he entered the building, and says the “frightened” morgue worker was saying “Grandma, lie down, granny, be quiet.”

The paramedic thought the morgue employee had gone “crazy” and was talking to the dead. But then he saw how the pensioner grabbed the woman’s hand pleading for help.

Zinaida was covered in blankets and rushed to intensive care.

'Dead' woman comes back to life and gets off from mortuary

The hospital called her niece Tatiana and a senior doctor told her: “We have an unusual situation. She is alive!”

She rushed to the hospital as a team of medics from regional capital Kursk were sent to treat Zinaida. Tatiana was delighted her aunt was alive, but asked the doctors: “How could this happen?”

She was told Zinaida had been registered as clinically dead for 15 minutes — and was “literally pulled back from the other world”.

“She initially did not recognise me or recall that she had a surgery,” Tatiana said. “But she talked about her old knee problem.”

Later she came to her senses.

A doctor and anaesthetist later confessed to the family that they had sent Zinaida to the morgue one hour and 20 minutes after she died, instead of two hours as rules dictate.

Acting hospital head Alexander Vlasov said: “For 30 minutes the patient underwent resuscitation measures” but didn’t respond.

The elderly pensioner who came back to life has been transferred to Kursk for further treatment.

Roman Kondratenko, chief doctor of Gorshechensky central district hospital, has been suspended pending an investigation. Relatives are planning to sue the hospital, according to reports.

‘Iran will never have a nuclear weapon’- Trump

US president Donald Trump, has demanded a reinstatement of all suspended United Nations sanctions on Iran, vowing the Iranian regime “will never have a nuclear weapon.”

Trump in 2018 pulled out of the nuclear deal orchestrated by the Obama regime which has Russia, Germany, Iran, UK, France , China and the EU as signatories.

According to Trump, Iran was cheating on the deal and were on their way to making a nuclear bomb.

The US’ withdrawal from the deal forced other major powers such as China, Russia and the EU to criticize the US administration with Iran announcing that it will stop following the deal if the US permanently withdraws from the deal.

Trump has now revealed that the Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will travel to New York today, Thursday, to discuss with the UN as the US wants all the sanctions against Iran to be reinstated.

“The United States intends to restore all the previously suspended sanctions on Iran,” he added.

Trump claimed that if he is re-elected, “within the first month… Iran will be coming to us” to make another deal.

“We got nothing except a short-term little deal,” Trump said of previous negotiations.

“My administration will not allow this Iran nuclear situation to go on,” Trump said.

“They will never have a nuclear weapon.
“Iran will never have a nuclear weapon,” Trump vowed.

Trump called the deal – made under the Obama administration– “disastrous.”

It’s unclear if any countries at the UN will even engage with the US demands, given that the US pulled out of the deal voluntarily and against the wishes of the other signatories to the deal.

Although the Trump administration is asking for sanctions to be imposed, US allies including Britain and France, and rivals- China and Russia are opposed to reimposing sanctions, the AP reports.
