As protests against police brutality continue across the country, a woman, Ebohon Egbe Rebecca from Edo state, recounted how her 22-year-old briother was allegedly killed by the police in 2013 after labelling him a robber, an allegation that was cleared years later.
Taking to Facebook on Saturday, Rebecca recalled how her mother went to a police station to report her son missing. Unknown to her, he had been allegedly killed and buried by the police.
After series of protests led by activist Kola Edokpayi, her brother’s corpse was exhumed and in 2017 after the court declared the deceased innocent, he was finally buried by the family.

“Momodu Ibrahim was our General. He was murdered by the Nigeria police on 27th May, 2013 at the age of 22. And buried by the police on the 28th May, 2013. The police wrote a letter to the LG office stating that he was a criminal who was caught at the scene of a robbery operation ( … my Brother was not a criminal), before going to bury him. (I read that letter then)
On 29th May, 2013, my Mother went to Textile Mill road police station to report that her son was missing (without knowing that he has been buried )… we later got to know that we will never see him again.
On 30th May, 2013, Kola Edokpayi, Pharez Okpere, and Yusuf Bukhari came to pay us a condolence visit, we told them the story and it didn’t sit well with them. They raised alarm. There was a massive protest and my Brother was exhumed and kept in the morgue for 3 years while the case was ongoing.
He was finally buried in 2017. Barr. Jefferson Uwoghiren stood solidly for us free of charge to see that my Brother get justice and I am grateful that my Brother’s name was cleared that he was not a robber. As I live with the pains of his murder and how it happened, I always wish that those who had a hand in his death will never live a peaceful life.
Kaycee Madu, Canada’s first black Minister Of Justice has recounted how his cousin was allegedly murdered by Nigerian police in 2013.
In a statement he released in support of the #EndSARS protest aimed at stopping police brutality, Kaycee recounted how the police allegedly refused to investigate the murder incident and also did everything to obstruct it.
The Canadian Minister of Justice added that changing the name of SARS and reconstituting it without significant reform, won’t be sufficient to satisfy the cry of the Nigerian people for justice.

I support the people of Nigeria as they protest to end police brutality and extrajudicial killings. My own cousin Chrisantus Nwabueze Korie was murdered by Nigerian police in April 2013.
Despite my best efforts, the police would not investigate his murder and did everything to obstruct. I also helped to petition a committee of Nigeria’s National Assembly to probe the killing and report back to the House within a timely manner.
Fundamental human rights like peace, security and freedom from police brutality are universal. The Nigerian government has an obligation to protect its citizens and deliver substantive police reform.
Changing the name of SARS and reconstituting it without significant reform won’t be sufficient to satisfy the cry of the Nigerian people for justice.

Toyin Abraham has shared the touching story of her family friend who she claims became crippled when hit by a stray bullet from a police officer’s gun.
Sharing a photo of Nike Adekanle sitting in a wheelchair, Toyin Abraham wrote: “This is my family friend Adenike @nikeadekanle .. She wasn’t born like this, It was a stray bullet from the Nigeria police on the 23rd of July 1996 around 3pm in apata ibadan and she was in the hospital for over a year. Not even a call or check up or Bill payment by the police. { P.s- I had to get her permission to do this } #endpolicebrutality.”
Adenike confirmed the story, writing: “I’m not keeping quiet anymore…. saying this bring back a lot of horrible things that I want to forget but if this helps our fight against police brutality then WE MOVE!!!!!! #EndSars #ENDPOLICEBRUTALITY.”
Chadwick Boseman’s widow, Taylor Simone Ledward is asking a judge to make her an administrator with limited authority of his estate after the actor died without a will.
According to court documents obtained by ET, the Black Panther star “died intestate,” meaning he did not have a legal will. Boseman passed away in August at 43 following a four-year secret battle with colon cancer.
As a result, his wife has now filed a probate case at the Los Angeles County Courts on Thursday, October 15, in an attempt to become an administrator of his estate, which is estimated to be worth $938,500.
Boseman’s parents Leroy and Carolyn Boseman are also mentioned in the documents.
Boseman and Ledward married shortly before his death. The pair started dating in 2015 before Boseman was diagnosed with colon cancer four years ago.
The late actor’s family said that he and Ledward had tied the knot in a statement confirming the star’s “wife” was by his side when he tragically passed away.
It read: “He died in his home, with his wife and family by his side.
“The family thanks you for your love and prayers, and asks that you continue to respect their privacy during this difficult time.”
A group of Nigerian youths protesting against police brutality at Lekki Toll Gate, have reportedly raised over N2 million for an elderly woman who hawks groundnut.
According to Twitter user, @sama_on_point, who shared the report, he first said the youths contributed N500,000 to the woman at the protest ground, before thanking Super Eagles midfielder, John Ogu for making a hefty donation.
A few hours later, he gave another update that the donation to the groundnut seller had been increased to N2,350,000.
A young woman claimed at a protest today that she’s joining the call to end SARS and its replacement SWAT because she’s been a victim and won’t wait for her children to go what she went through.
Chiatuiro Precious Chidera alleged she was raped by SARS two years ago after which they still extorted money from her.
She said she will not bring her daughter into a world where she could be raped by officers who should protect her, neither will she bring sons into a country where they can be easily killed. For these reason, she says she will continue to protest.
Holding a placard at the End SARS protest, she said: “I was raped by this motherf**kers last two years.
“They extorted money from me too.
“What was my crime: I fresh. I fresh na crime?
“I cannot give birth to a daughter in this country make them no go rape my daughter tomorrow.
“Make them no go shoot my son tomorrow.
“Na people pikin them they dead for Lagos state. End SARS. End police brutality.”
Twitter users sent her messages of hope and she said she has “lived past it”.
#EndSARS protesters in Abuja converged at the Unity fountain on Friday October 16 for a candlelight procession in honor of all victims of police brutality.
As the #EndSARS and End police brutality protests continue nationwide, actress Mosunmola Oduoye has shared the heartbreaking story of how her younger brother, Olatunbosun Filani, was allegedly murdered by police officers in Abeokuta, Ogun state in 2010.
According to Mosunmola, her brother was only 25 when he was allegedly shot dead by police officers. She recounted how she went from one mortuary to the other in search of his corpse. She stated that many years after the tragic incident, she has no idea what led to her brother being killed.

Officers from eleweran/obantoko abeokuta killed u on Friday evening, but we were notified on Sunday morning. We don’t have the full details of what happened or how it happened till date.
We went to both station, but we were treated like criminals, and chased away. I was able to locate ur corpse thru the help of a big area brother back then…. We went to all the mortuarys in abeokuta one after the other tipping them to let me search thru their abandoned corpses by police.
When I found u at ijaiye state hospital u were naked and dead but ur hand was still on ur stomach where u were shot and I could see the bullet hole. I shouted, rolled on the muddy floor, I sat amongst the many corpse and held u my handsome brother before I was dragged away.
They never wanted us to locate ur corpse at all.

A woman is fortunate to be alive after “NEPA” took light while she was undergoing surgery in a hospital in Umuahia.
Blessing Nwobodo, a writer, said she found a lump in her breast and was advised to remove it even though it wasn’t cancerous.
The government hospital in Abia state was on strike so she went to a private hospital in Umuahia.
She explained that during surgery, she was on local anasthesia and was conscious. Midway through the surgery, “NEPA took light”.
She said the doctor performing the surgery ran out and asked her aunt to call someone named Ifeanyi to put on the generator. Ifeanyi returned, saying their was no fuel.
A nurse came in with a torchlight which the doctor used for the surgery until power was restored.
Blessing explained that she was staring at the ceiling while everything was unfolding and she was singing Rihanna’s Please Don’t Stop The Music.
She said her experience made her want to curse Nigeria but she realized “the country is already cursed.”
Indigenous rapper, Phyno has accused the Enugu state government of threatening his life and that of other #EndSARS protesters.
In a tweet he shared, he stated that the Enugu state government should be held responsible should anything happen to them. Phyno accused Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of storming the protest with thugs who tried to fight them.

South African Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) has launched investigation into the death of Nigerian man, Chukwualuka Innocent Okenna, after he was allegedly assalted in the cell by police officers in Witbank.
IPID is the state agency responsible for delivering justice to families who have lost loved ones to police violence. The organization’s mandate is to ensure independent oversight of the national and municipal services.
Spokesperson from the Witbank Police Station, Capt Eddie Hall said they have handed the case over to IPID and the allegations will be thoroughly investigated.
Confirming the development on Friday, October 16, spokesperson from the IPID, Ms Ndileka Cola said they are awating autopsy.
“We are currently investigating the case but the Directorate is still waiting for post mortem to proceed with the investigation.’ said Ms Cola.
It was gathered that Okenna, a native of Okpuno in Awka Local Government Area of Anambra State, died on October 7, after he was allegedly assaulted and suffocated by police officers in Witbank.
According to an eye witness, Okenna was arrested on Friday, October 3, on an alleged drug charge. He appeared in Witbank Magistrate’s Court and was released on bail on Monday, October 5.
“On Friday 3rd of October 2020 that some police men led by a police officer popularly known as small went to number 20 Jellicoe street Witbank Mpumalanga where they arrested Mr. Chukwualuka Innocent,” the witness said.
“After the arrest, he was mercilessly beaten up by the police officers and whisked away to Witbank police station where he was detained till Monday 5th October 2020. On Monday late Chukwualuka Innocent was arraigned before a court where he was granted bail”
He returned to his home and apparently told his room mates that he was assaulted by the police. On Wednesday morning, October 7, he passed away in his house.
The witness said: “After his release as a result of the court directive ” Late Chukwualuka on coming back told friends that he was having serious pains in the body especially on the head as a result of the beaten and torture he received”
“On Wednesday morning at about 11am, the caretaker of the house went to see how he was fairing only to discover that the door was still locked, something he considered unusual. He knocked several times but nobody responded which made him to force the door open only to see the lifeless body of Chukwualuka on the floor.” he added.
After his death angry Nigerians gathered in front of the house in Jellicoe where his body was kept, demanding for answer. From there they marched to the Witbank Police Station to voice their concerns about the death of Okenna.
“This is not the first time we lost a life under the hands of our authority,” a bystander told journalists at the scene.
“They had a CBD bust in 2019 where they arrested my sister that walked the streets and assaulted her to the stage where she almost died,” she added.
Another girl who knows the deceased as ‘Aluka’ told the media that he was very sick after he came back from the cells and looked weary.
“I knew something was not right as he did not even have the energy to climb out of his bed. He said to me that he felt very sick the night before he passed away.
A neighbour told journalists “the most alarming part is that if the police said they did not cause his death, why did they come and take my CCTV camera with the footage?”
Two people in Texas, USA, have been charged with capital murder after forcing an 8-year-old girl to jump on a trampoline under extreme heat as punishment, leading to her death.
According to US police who released a press statement on Thursday, October 15, the young girl died of dehydration on August 29.
Daniel Schwarz, 44, and Ashley Schwarz, 34, were charged and arrested on Monday October 12. They were then booked into the Ector County Detention Center, according to police with their bonds set at $500,000 each.
Police did not say what the Schwarzes’ relationship is to each other or to the girl.
An investigation by police found that the two told the girl to jump on the trampoline “without stopping for an extended period of time,” and didn’t allow her to eat breakfast or drink water. The temperature of the trampoline was about 110 degrees Fahrenheit, while the ground was about 150 degrees.
The police department received the final autopsy report for the girl on October 8. In the autopsy report, the girl died by dehydration and her death was deemed to be a homicide, police said.
Nigerians have been barred from participating in the United States’ visa lottery in 2022.
This was disclosed in a document titled ‘Instructions for the 2022 diversity immigrant visa program (dv-2022)’ obtained from the US’ website on Thursday, October 15.
“In Africa, natives of Nigeria are not eligible for this year’s Diversity Visa program,” the document stated.
It stated that Nigeria was barred because more than 50,000 of its citizens immigrated to the United States in the previous five years.
Citizens of other African countries are eligible to apply, but “persons born in the areas administered prior to June 1967 by Israel, Jordan, Syria, and Egypt are chargeable, respectively, to Israel, Jordan, Syria, and Egypt. Persons born in the Gaza Strip are chargeable to Egypt; persons born in the West Bank are chargeable to Jordan; persons born in the Golan Heights are chargeable to Syria.”
The document reads in part, “Applicants who are selected in the program (selectees) must meet simple but strict eligibility requirements to qualify for a diversity visa. The Department of State determines selectees through a randomized computer drawing. The Department of State distributes diversity visas among six geographic regions, and no single country may receive more than seven percent of the available DVs in any one year.
“For DV-2022, persons born in the following countries are not eligible to apply, because more than 50,000 natives of these countries immigrated to the United States in the previous five years: Bangladesh, Brazil, Canada, China (including Hong Kong SAR), Colombia, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, India, Jamaica, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines, South Korea, United Kingdom (except Northern Ireland) and its dependent territories, and Vietnam.

33 year old US tennis player Sam Querrey, has been accused of fleeing Russia on a private jet after he and his family tested positive for Covid-19.
Querrey and his wife had tested positive for the virus ahead of the St. Petersburg Open this week and were placed in quarantine at a hotel, according to the tournament organizers.
Doctors had recommended Querrey and his family be moved to a private apartment but he did not allegedly answer the door when doctors were dispatched to evaluate his condition.
“Sam Querrey was scheduled to retest on Thursday, October 15, however, instead of acting in accordance with ATP rules and the tournament’s sanitary protocol, Sam Querrey was recorded leaving the hotel by hotel security cameras at 5.45 a.m. on October 13, with his family, without notifying the reception,”
“As Querrey told the ATP representative, he and his family left Russia on a private plane.” read a statement from organizers.
The ATP which is the World tennis controlling body, said it was aware of an incident “regarding a player’s serious breach of protocol”
Querrey has not won a grand slam singles title in his career but is ranked world number 47.

Juliet Masakanire, the Zimbabwean Prophetess accused of sexually assaulting a female congregant has been sentenced to 11 years in prison after being found guilty of the charges levelled against her.
The founder of Pray Deliverance and Testimony Ministries International who appeared before Gweru Regional magistrate Mrs. Pathekhile Msipa facing two counts of indecent assault and one count of aggravated indecent assault, had earlier pleaded not guilty to the charges.
She was however convicted of the three charges following a full trial which proved that she molested a 32-year-old member of her congregation. Ruling on the case, Mrs. Msipa said;
“The accused was the pastor of the complainant who placed her trust and faith in her and her prophecies. Instead of looking after her, she turned into her abuser and courts should give long custodial sentences to deter would-be offenders.”
Masakanire was sentenced to two years in prison for count one and two and nine years in prison for count three. However, she will serve nine years in prison after two years were suspended on condition of good behavior.
A grandfather accused of dropping his 18-month-old granddaughter from the 11th-story window of a cruise ship in Puerto Rico last year has pleaded guilty to negligent homicide.
In July 2019, 18-month-old Chloe Wiegand reportedly slipped from her grandfather Salvatore “Sam” Anello’s grasp and fell around 115ft from the children’s play area on a Royal Caribbean Cruises’ ship, in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Anello had been holding the little girl up to an open window on the 11th deck of the Freedom of the Seas ship when the incident happened.
On Thursday, October 15, Salvatore ‘Sam’ Anello of Valparaiso, Indiana, admitted to the charges to end what he called a “nightmare” for his family.
The 51-year-old was charged with the death of granddaughter Chloe Wiegand who died after falling 150 feet from a docked Royal Caribbean cruise ship in July 2019.
In a previously released statement, Mr. Anello claimed that he did not know the tinted window of the children’s play area was open and that he lifted Chloe up to the window so that she could knock on the glass like she did at her brother’s hockey games.
‘All I know is I was trying to reach the glass and I know that we leaned over to try to have her reach the glass, at that point she slipped,’ Anello said
‘Chloe being gone is the worst thing ever so I’m like, whatever, you know. There’s nothing worse that they could do to me than what’s already happened.’
Following Mr Anello’s guilty plea on Thursday, his attorney Michael Winkleman confirmed that the 51-year-old will not serve any jail time, and will return to Indiana for his probation period.
“This decision was an incredibly difficult one for Sam and the family, but because the plea agreement includes no jail time and no admission of facts, it was decided the plea deal is in the best interests of the family so that they can close this horrible chapter,” Mr Winkleman said.
He added that the family want to “turn their focus to mourning Chloe and fighting for cruise passenger safety by raising awareness about the need for all common carriers to adhere to window fall prevention laws designed to protect children from falling from windows.”
Chloe’s parents, Alan and Kimberly Wiegand, filed a multi-million dollar negligent lawsuit against Royal Caribbean in December 2019, in which they blamed the cruise ship company for failing to provide safety features on the windows, according to USA Today.
Mr. Winkleman also confirmed on Thursday that the family will continue with the civil lawsuit, and claimed that Mr Anello’s plea has no impact on it.
“We are deep into the process of discovery in the Civil case having already taken several depositions and numerous upcoming depositions including the Captain of the ship,” he said.
“Sadly, all of the discovery and evidence taken so far in the case confirms that this was a tragic, preventable accident and that there are absolutely no grounds to bring criminal charges against Sam Anello,” Mr Winkleman added.
In a motion to dismiss the lawsuit earlier in the year, Royal Caribbean claimed: “His [Mr Anello’s] actions, which no reasonable person could have foreseen, were reckless and irresponsible and the sole reason why Chloe is no longer with her parents.”
The company also denied breaching industry safety standards, insisting he would only have had to rely on his ‘basic senses’ to realize he was endangering his beloved granddaughter.
A mum has been accused of stripping her 12-year-old son and raping him on their bed before warning him not to tell anyone.
Brittany Rouleau, 34, has been charged with aggravated sexual assault after her son told his now-guardian she attacked him in 2018.
The guardian alleged Roleau told the boy to strip naked as he sat on the bed they shared after he got out of the shower at their Witchita Falls home.
He then claims she asked the boy about masturbation as she was getting undressed before ordering him to take his clothes off and then raped him.
Rouleau allegedly then told the boy to “go clean himself up” after the incident, reports The Sun.
An affidavit claims the boy told police he then slept on the couch because he felt what had happened was wrong.
He alleged she told him he could “get in trouble” if he told anyone because “he accepted it.”
The boy claims his mum then told him not to tell anyone, and the child has kept quiet until he opened up about the incident to his now-guardian this year.
His guardian then brought the matter to the police, who repeated the allegations at Patsy’s House Child Advocacy Center.
Rouleau was arrested and charged with aggravated sexual assault and initially denied having forced intercourse with her son.
According to the Times Record News, Rouleau has allegedly now confessed to the crime and a former neighbour has come forward and claimed she told him she slept with her son two years ago.
Rouleau is being held at Wichita County Jail on a $100,000 bond and a court hearing is yet to be scheduled.
A 20-year-old student married two teenage girls within less than a month in West Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara province, Indonesia.
According to reports from local media outlets, the young man, who is identified by his initial R, married his first wife, identified as F, on September 17, and married another girl, identified as M, on Monday, October 12.
They were reportedly married in a traditional ceremony, locally known as nikah siri. Both brides are reportedly 16 years old.
Photos from R and M’s marriage went viral after they were shared on Facebook and became a hot topic among netizens.
Speaking to a media outlet, Kumparan, tather of the groom, Ayuni said he was shocked to learn that his son decided to get married, especially because he’s still enrolled as a student at a vocational high school.

A Nigerian man living in the UK with his wife, who is also Nigerian, has released a video saying he has nowhere to go after his wife’s abusive behavior caused him to leave home.
He claimed he’s been a slave in his home for years, does the cleaning, pays the mortgage, yet the wife abuses him at will.
He narrated the event that led to him leaving. He said he just returned from work when his wife started abusing him again then called the police on him. He said he called the police too and when they arrived, they concluded his wife was lying and they asked him to leave the house.
With his “Ghana-must-go” bags, and TV, the man stood outside his house waiting for a cab. He showed the world the address of the home he’s leaving and said he currently has nowhere else to go but he’s happy to be “free” from his wife.
Opinions have been divided since he recorded the video on October 14th and shared it.
Some allege the woman who chased him out of the house is his third wife. It is also alleged that he has three kids with his first wife but abandoned them.
A number of people are calling out the man’s wife, threatening to circulate her photo, and asking her to give her side of the story.
Meanwhile, Victoria Inyama has accused the man of being a narcissist who only gives half-truths to make himself look like the victim.

Singer, Flavour together with Phyno, Zoro, Kcee, and Yul Edochie led a peaceful protest against police brutality as they marched to the head office of the defunct Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) in Anambra state.
The celebrities and the protesters gathered in Awka on Friday afternoon and marched to Awkuzu SARS, known as one of the notorious units in the country.
The protest comes a day after Anambra state Governor, Chief Willie Obiano relieved former Awkuzu SARS Commander, James Nwafor of his political appointment.
The governor also disclosed that he will be prosecuted, along with other SARS officials that abused their offices while addressing the #ENDSARS protesters at the Government House, Awka.
Nwafor, who served as commander of the defunct Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) in Awkuzu, Anambra State has been accused of atrocious acts, extra-judicial killings, and human rights violations.
Former Manchester City and West Ham defender, Pablo Zabaleta has announced his retirement from football at the age of 35.
The Argentine right-back, who started his at San Lorenzo in his homeland joined Manchester City from Espanyol for £6.5m in 2008 and went on to become a club legend, playing 333 games and winning two Premier League titles. He also lifted the FA Cup and two League Cups with the club.
After nine seasons at City, Zabaleta moved to West Ham in 2017 where he made 80 appearances before leaving at the end of his contract earlier this summer.
Zabaleta, who won 58 caps for his country, said: “After 18 years as a professional footballer, I took the decision to retire from playing football.

TMZ reports that the 39-year-old actor and his now-ex-wife Aryn Drake-Lee have completed their divorce proceedings, and were no longer married as of Aug. 7, 2020.
The publication said Jesse will keep the $936,810 made in profits since their split in 2017 from his Grey’s Anatomy gig, while Aryn will keep the former family house in LA, along with places in Brooklyn and Oakland.
She will also keep a ‘leased 2017 Audi Q7 SUV and 2018 Q5 SUV, while Jesse gets to keep his leased 2018 Porsche Cayenne SUV.’

A special court for exclusive trial of cases under NDPS act in Chennai has convicted a Nigerian national, his two Indian accomplices and sentenced them to 10 years rigorous imprisonment for the possession of narcotic substances, Times of India.
According to Times of India, the three accused, Chukwu Simon Obinna, 30, K Kumaresan, 26 and C Arun Diwakar, 33, were arrested near an apartment in Porur in 2018, for the possession of the narcotic substances.
According to the prosecution, SRMC police received a tip off about exchange of Narcotics in Porur and on December 17, 2018, they apprehended the trio near an apartment complex.
Police found the trio to be in possession of psychotropic and narcotic substances in their bags, which they had planned to sell. Police seized 220 grams of ecstasy pills, 18 grams of Cocaine, 8 grams of MDMA, 9 gram of Meth from them.
According to investigating officers, Obinna had come to India on an employment visa. His modus operandi to expand his business was allegedly to supply drugs to tourists in Goa before luring them to join him as agents. That was how Kumaresan and Diwakar became part of the drug network.
When the case came for trial on October 8, the counsel for the accused contended that their clients are not guilty and argued that there were irregularities in the arrest and lack of clear evidence.
Among the many arguments, the counsel for the accused submitted that independent witnesses were not cited by the prosecution and the same is very much fatal to the case prosecution.
The Judge, however observed from the records that the scene of crime is a service road and held that for the mere reason of non production of independent witnesses the case of the prosecution cannot be rejected.
“The oral testimony of official witnesses cannot be disbelieved. When the evidence of seizure officer is credible, non production of independent witnesses is not fatal to the prosecution,” Judge V Thenmozhe stated.
The court further observed that people are generally reluctant to give evidence in a criminal case on the ground that it may invite problems and expose them to great risk.
“Though the duty of the citizen is to assist the State to set the criminal law in motion as to commission of an offence and adduce evidence in favour of prosecution, there is no effective mechanism to provide safety to them,” additional district judge, V Thenmozhe stated.
The court also imposed a fine on the accused- Rs 3 lakh on the Nigeria national and Arun Diwakar and a fine of Rs 4 lakh on Kumaresan.
Meanwhile, it was gathered that Obinna had sought deportation to Nigeria but it was denied.
A mother from Queens, New York who threw her newborn son out a window told police she “panicked” after giving birth at home, then took a shower and fell asleep as her infant was left lying in a cold alley, prosecutors allege.
Sabita Dookram, 23, was arraigned Tuesday , October 13, on attempted murder and other charges after tossing the baby and she is now held on a $50,000 bail.
Police found a barely breathing newborn boy outside a home on 126th St. near 107th Ave. in South Ozone Park on Sunday, leading to the shocking details revealed by the mum upon her arrest.
“I gave birth yesterday afternoon. I cut the cord with a scissor from the bathroom,” Dookram told police according to a criminal complaint.
“I panicked and threw it out of the bathroom window. I did not check on the baby, I put my clothes in the laundry hamper in the bathroom, I showered and went to sleep,” she told cops, according to the complaint.
Authorities said the baby boy is on a ventilator in critical condition amd has been transferred from Jamaica Hospital to Cohen Children’s Medical Center.
According to police, an exam revealed he suffered a traumatic brain injury, with bleeding and swelling to his brain and scalp, as well as an abdominal injury with internal bleeding.
“This is a heartbreaking situation. A newborn baby has suffered greatly because of the alleged actions of his mother, who now faces serious charges and a lengthy prison sentence,” Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz said.

The Inspector General of Police, IGP Mohammed Adamu has ordered all defunct SARS personnel to report at Force Headquarters in Abuja for debriefing, psychological and medical examinationin in accordance with Section 18 (10) of the Police Act 2020.
The order contained in a statement issued by Force spokesperson, DCP Frank Mba, on Tuesday, October 13, said the officers are expected to undergo this process ‘as a prelude to further training and reorientation before being redeployed into mainstream policing duties’
“The medical examination will be carried out by the newly set-up Police Counselling and Support Unit (PCSU), a Unit, which henceforth shall engage in psychological management, re-orientation and training of officers of the Force deployed for tactical operations and other duties,” the statement reads.
“The Unit, which is domiciled with the Force Medical Department and coordinated by the Force Medical Officer, has its membership drawn from amongst psychiatrists, psychologists, medics, pastors and imams, Public Relations practitioners, Civil Society and other Human Rights groups with relevant qualifications and expertise,”
The statement said the IGP has set up a new Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team that will fill the gaps arising from the dissolution of the defunct SARS.
“Prospective members of this new team will also undergo psychological and medical examination to ascertain their fitness and eligibility for the new assignment. They are to commence training at the different Police tactical training institutions nationwide, next week,”

A West Ham United supporter has been banned from attending matches for three years after he pleaded guilty to racially abusing Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah.
Bradley Thumwood, 48, was handed the ban after appearing at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday following an incident during West Ham’s 2-0 defeat by Liverpool at the London Stadium on January 29.
In a video that was captured during the Premier League encounter, a male voice can be heard shouting: “Salah you f****** Muslim. F****** Muslim c***. F*** off.”
Thumwood pleaded guilty to a racially aggravated Section 5 public order, and he was also fined £400 on top of the football stadium ban. He was also told to pay a victim surcharge and costs of £215.
‘Thumwood was issued with a three-year Football Banning Order and fined £400. He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge and costs amounting to £125,’ the Metropolitan Police said in a statement.
West Ham vowed to take a ‘zero-tolerance approach’ to any future incidents of a similar nature but also said they will look to educate Thumwood to reform his views.
‘The club works closely with Kick It Out and our fan group BAME Hammers,’ a club spokesperson said.
‘In conjunction with those parties, the club will offer educational sessions to the individual in question in an effort to reform their views, whilst reserving the right to uphold their indefinite bans, should those efforts prove unsuccessful.’
Dedicated Football officer PC Andy Sheldon urged other football fans to report any future instances of discrimination when supporters are allowed back into the stadium.

English Football Association chairman, Greg Clarke, has revealed Liverpool and Manchester United threatened to breakaway from the English premier league and start their own league.
The two Premier League giants stated that the aim of the project was to radically reform English football, with proposals including the top-flight being reduced to 18 teams and the EFL Cup and Community Shield being scrapped.
According to FA chief Clarke who released a letter on Wednesday October 14, he was actually involved in the talls known as ‘Project Big Picture’, but he decided to walk away earlier this year when it became clear the proposals were nothing more than a power grab from England’s biggest clubs.
In a letter to the FA Council, Clarke claims ‘the principal aim of these discussions became the concentration of power and wealth in the hands of a few clubs, with a breakaway league mooted as a threat’.
He added: “I, of course, discontinued my involvement and counselled a more consensus-based approach involving all Premier League clubs and its chair and CEO. Our game needs to continually seek to improve but benefits need to be shared.”
Project Big picture also got the backing of EFL chairman Rick Parry, with the proposals including an immediate £250million bailout for clubs in his competition starved of matchday income by the coronavirus pandemic and a promised 25 per cent share of future Premier League broadcast revenue.
But the proposals have been criticized as football experts believe the plans will concentrate power in the hands of the Premier League big six, including over broadcast arrangements, club ownership and composition of the league’s board.
Clarke warned that the FA had ‘substantial controls’ it could bring to bear if it felt any proposal was put forward that ran counter to the interests of the game, and that any breakaway competition would not be sanctioned by the FA.
“We, the FA Board and Council, have to ensure that any changes would be to the long-term benefit of the whole of football and we have substantial controls to help ensure that the best interests of the game are served by any new proposals,” he said.

Chelsea and Nigerian winger, Victor Moses is set to complete his loan move to Spartak Moscow with an option to make the deal permanent for £8million.
The 29-year-old who spent the second half of the 2019-20 season at Inter Milan is expected to seal the deal in few days with the Russian transfer window closing in a week time.
According to Russian site, Championat, the deal could see Moses earn over 50,000 pounds per week.

A 51-year old man, Gladwn Mboweni, is believed to have committed suicide in South Africa by setting his home on fire using a highly inflammable substance.
His two daughters, 13-year old Minkateko and Tsakani Mboweni,9, also died in the incident which happened at Nkowankowa township outside Tzaneen in Limpopo. Mboweni was the Mopani District Manager of Stats South Africa.
Police spokesperson, Brig. Motlafela Mojapelo, who confirmed the incident on Monday, October 12, say the motive was still unknown but they are not ruling out domestic violence.
“The neighbours allegedly saw the house engulfed in flames and jumped over the wall fence to rescue the occupants. They broke one of the windows to get inside and in the process managed to rescue the father who had already suffered from smoke inhalation. He died on the scene.” said Brig. Mojapelo.
“The intense blaze and smoke forced them out. The police and emergency personnel as well as fire fighters were immediately summoned and after the fire was extinguished, the burnt bodies of the two children were found in separate rooms,” Mojapelo added.
Preliminary police investigations revealed that the deceased and his wife were separated and that his daughters were staying with him.
“It is also suspected the father set the house alight using a highly flammable substance,” he said.
Provincial police commissioner Lt-Gen Nneke Ledwaba condemned the incident, and urged community members who might be facing domestic challenges or strained relationships to seek professional help instead of resorting to extreme violence.
Investigations were ongoing. Social workers were immediately dispatched to the scene to provide psychosocial support to bereaved families and other affected parties.
Meanwhile, the MEC for Social Development Mme. Nkakareng Rakgoale has reacted with shock over the incident.
“Incidents of GBV are happening at an alarming rate in the province, hence we are calling on all the people to contact our social workers when they are experiencing difficulties in their relationships and families. We have our family preservation programs that are aimed at assisting families that are in conflicting and toxic relationships,” she said.
“Our social workers have started providing psychosocial support to the mother of the children and to other affected parties. May the souls of the two children and their farther rest in peace. I also want to take this opportunity to send my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family” she added.
France on Wednesday October 14, became the latest European nation to enforce a month-long night-time curfew in Paris and eight other major cities and towns aimed at fighting the Coronavirus ‘second wave.’
This strict State of Emergency measure is also applied to Lille, Rouen, Saint-Etienne, Toulouse, Lyon, Grenoble, Aix-en-Provence and Montpellier.
The capital will now shut down for nine hours from 9pm until 6am, in a bid to stop the disease circulating, said President Emmanuel Macron on Wednesday.
All bars, restaurants, theatres and similar businesses will have to shut at 9pm sharp from Saturday.
Addressing the nation during a televised interview from the Elysee Palace, the French President confirmed that France was now ‘being hit by the second wave.’
‘This virus that we have known from the beginning and which has struck us for eight months, is coming back,’ he said.
‘We have not lost control. We are in a situation which is worrying and which justifies that we are neither inactive nor in panic.
‘It is equally worrying in other European countries, such as Germany which is also taking restrictive measures.
‘Spain and the Netherlands are also in a very worrying situation, and have taken very restrictive measures in recent days’.
It will kick-in from midnight on October 17 and will last for four weeks. Anyone breaking the curfew will face a fine of €135 euros, which will rise for repeat offences.
The new measures come four months after the last lockdown when the first Covid-19 wave hit.
Mr Macron said this State of Emergency was now set to be re-introduced, along with the other tougher measures, from Saturday.
The announcement comes after France recorded more than 22,000 cases on Wednesday – more than three-times the number of infections that were recovered during the first wave back in April.
And in Italy, authorities recorded 7,332 new cases on Wednesday, the highest daily count the hard-hit country has yet seen, while Belgium has warned that intensive care units will hit capacity by mid-November.

US First Lady, First Lady Melania Trump has revealed that her 14-year-old son with President Donald Trump tested positive for Coronavirus.
Melania who revealed this in a personal essay in which she narrated her experience battling COVID-19, described her son as a strong teenager who didn’t exhibit any symptom.
The US President and first lady also tested positive for Coronavirus as well as other White House staff, but have since recovered.
Melania wrote;
“Naturally, my mind went immediately to our son. Luckily he is a strong teenager and exhibited no symptoms”.

Trump said;
“Barron had it for such a short period of time.
“I don’t even think he knew he had it, because they’re young and their immune systems are strong and they fight it off. 99.9%. And Barron is beautiful and he’s free.”
As for her symptoms, Melania said they were “minimal” and she hopes to resume her duties as first lady as soon as she can. She said;
“I experienced body aches, a cough and headaches, and felt extremely tired most of the time.
“I chose to go a more natural route in terms of medicine, opting more for vitamins and healthy food.”
A 13-year-old girl, Wednesday, October 14, alleged that her aunt’s husband, who she calls ‘Daddy’, would play pornographic videos for her to watch then rape her.
She alleged he had been abusing her sexually in his shop and at their apartment on Surulere Street, Ojo area of Lagos, with a threat to kill her if she told anyone.
The revelation followed the arrest of the 48-year-old suspect, Mr. Charles Ekwe, whom the victim refers to as ‘Daddy’, by the gender-based unit of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Lagos State Command, Monday, October 12.
The teenager has been living with her aunt since she was nine years old, after her father’s death.
She alleged that the suspect forcefully penetrated her whenever her aunt was out of sight.
She said: “Each time daddy wanted to do it, he would show me blue film (pornography) in his phone.
“He did it many times. I cannot count the number of times he did it. I was scared to report to my aunty because Daddy threatened to chase me out of the house and kill me if I did.”
The girl’s aunt, Mrs blessing Ekwe, noticed all was not well with the teenager and questioned the girl.
Upon inquiry, the teen disclosed how she had allegedly been subjected to sexual abuse by her uncle.
Mrs Eke was said to have taken the teenager to the hospital, where a medical examination conducted on her confirmed her hymen broken.
During interrogation, the suspect told NSCDC operatives that he only fondled the girl’s genitals. He also admitted subjecting her to watching pornography on his phone.
The NSCDC Lagos State Commandant, Mr. Ayeni Paul, while addressing journalists, said: “The sexual abuse suspect will face the full wrath of the law and will be handed over to the appropriate agency for further investigation and prosecution.
“This is a heinous crime and all perpetrators of such, when caught, will be made to pay dearly.”
He also said the ”the gender-based unit of the Corps saddled with the responsibility of handling rape, domestic violence, sexual assault and defilement, as well as child abuse cases, has well-trained officers to handle such cases.”
He, therefore, enjoined members of the public to report such cases to the command, for prosecution.

Thirteen of the twenty-one people who were arrested by Police in Uganda over sex party have been charged and convicted on Thursday, October 14.
Recall that police in the early hours of Saturday, October 10, busted a sex party in Kira Municipality, Wakiso district and arrested 21 persons. See previous report Here
The suspects, mostly girls, were charged before Kira Magistrate’s court and convicted on six counts of disobedience of lawful orders, negligent act likely to spread infection of disease, keeping a brothel, indecent practices, prostitution, and promoting trafficking in persons.
The offences attract maximum jail sentences of three and seven years’ imprisonment, respectively.
The convicts include, Suzan Akwir, 25, Phiona Nalubega, 27, Prossy Nabukenya alias Nakimera, 20, Esther Apio, 26, Christine Nsereko, 21, Edith Nakimbugwe, 22, and Mariam Nakalembe, 20.
Others are Ali Mugisha, 26, Sabra Achen, 23, Shakira Nanteza, 28, and Irene Namatovu, 28.
Grade One Magistrate, Joan Aciro, of Kira Chief Magistrates’ Court convicted the group having pleaded guilty on their own plea.
However, the owner of Tower Guest House in Kireka, Sharon Amutusimire, 26, where the offences were committed, denied the charges together with Yesiga Mugenyi, 20, a boda boda rider.
Amutusimire faces separate charges of keeping a brothel and promoting trafficking in persons.
“This court hereby convicts you on your own plea. But a plea of not guilty is entered for Amutusimire and Mugenyi,” Aciro said.
Prosecution alleged that the accused and others still at large on October 10, 2020 at Kireka Tower Guest House, Kira Municipality in Wakiso district while in a sex party disobeyed lawful orders, namely curfew, of being in their homes between 9:00pm and to 5:30am issued by President Yoweri Museveni.
It is also alleged that the accused in the same place, unlawfully and negligently engaged in a social gathering, an act they knew to be likely to spread infection of disease, namely COVID-19, a disease dangerous to human life.
Prosecution also alleges that Amutusimire and others still at large since 2019 at Kireka Namugongo division in Kira has been keeping rooms in Tower Guest House for purposes of prostitution.
Amutusimire is also accused of using the guesthouse for purposes of commercial sexual exploitation of a 16-year-old girl (name not disclosed).
The 16-year-old girl who was picked up together with 20 others from the sex party was sold to the organisers by her elder sister, police detectives have learnt.
According to police investigators, the teenager was brought from Masaka by her elder sister under the guise that she had secured her a job in Kampala since schools are still closed because of the COVID-19 lockdown.
Mr Luke Owoyesigyire, the deputy Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, says during investigations, the girl said her sister ‘sold’ her to a woman she identified as Anita Kayz.
According to Owoyesigyire, they have added a charge of trafficking in persons on the suspects.
The girl has since told police that on the night they were arrested, she had already slept with four men but Anita escaped with the money she had made.
Police have launched a manhunt for Anita who allegedly organised the sex party.
A murder suspect, Marina Kokhal, 36, accused of killing her rapper husband, Andy Cartwright, colluded with her mother to dismember his body, Russian police investigators now allege.
According to investigators in Russia, Marina allegedly confessed to cutting up the corpse of her husband, but claims he died of natural causes. Police have now arrested her mother, Elena Kokhal, 67, and allege she colluded with her daughter to kill him after rumours of an affair surfaced.
Police claim Marina bought an insulin drug and administered an overdose to the rapper. They also claim she had sex with his corpse, drank his blood and fed his body to rats. According to police, Andy’s body parts were discovered in Marina’s fridge, with others in dustbins waiting to be disposed of.
Iis also alleged Marina and her mother, Elena, fed Andy’s fingers to rats in the garden.
In a statement, Russian police said: “The investigation collected a sufficient evidence base indicating that the murder was planned by the accused [Marina Kokhal] in advance.
“Shortly before it was committed she purchased a medicine from a city pharmacy which she later used to commit the crime.”
Investigators also allege Marina and her mother, Elena, fed Andy’s fingers to rats in the garden.
Elena was arrested as she lives in the same apartment as her daughter.
Elena’s lawyer, Irina Skurtu, called the mother’s detention “the last throw of the dice” by detectives who had no proof against her client.
Skurtu also claims Marina was quizzed on “disgusting” and “sick” claims, including asking whether or not she tasted her husband’s blood.
After police alleged she “had sex with the corpse” of her husband, Marina continued to “categorically” state that she did not murder Andy.
After rumors of an affair surfaced, Andy’s alleged lover, Nadia Romanenko was contacted. She told cops Maina had threatened her by claiming her husband had AIDS.
She said the she and Andy met “every day” and that Marina didn’t know about the affair until recently.

Manchester United and England striker, Marcus Rashford has opened up on his fight against childhood hunger, days after the Queen of England awarded him an MBE for his work to help feed underprivileged children across the UK.
During the coronavirus pandemic, Rashford started a campaign to help feed vulnerable children and his work made the UK government to make a U-turn and continue free school meals for around 1.3 million disadvantaged children.
Rashford 22, also recently formed a task force with England’s food brand giants to stop child poverty across the country and has now revealed that he is shocked every day by what he’s seen in the UK.
Rashford, who found it hard to eat as a child until he was signed at the age of 10 by Manchester United, says that it is “mind-blowing” to see the amount of child suffering in the UK, vowing that he will not relent in his efforts.
“Every single day it shocks me,” Rashford said. “It’s not until people see the numbers and I’ve had the chance to visit some of the families I’ve managed to help and hear how it’s affected them and changed their lives.
“It’s just mind-blowing the amount of people who are suffering and the amount of people who don’t know where to get the help.
“There’s a lot of things that would shock a lot of people if they knew the facts about the issue. For me not enough people do know the facts, as I was one of them.
“For me, personally, it’s just sad to know it’s still going on, and I obviously was in that position when I was younger, and some of the families are in much worse positions than what I was in, so I can only imagine what it feels like for the parents and the children who just want the best for one another, so it’s difficult to really say one thing that somebody said to me that sticks out, because for me they’re all as important as each other.”
Rashford who made his professional debut at 18 for Manchester United has also revealed he has become comfortable with the limelight.
“I think playing for United and England at a young age, it helped me mature a lot quicker than I would’ve expected to,” Rashford said.
“I’m grateful for those opportunities and very happy I was put in those positions. I do feel like I’ve matured a lot. I feel like I’m free to speak on things I feel strongly about. It’s because of those experiences in the past that make me feel so comfortable doing that.”
A Ghanaian couple, Mr. Daniel and Mrs. Kate Anyane-Lah have welcomed a set of twins after 20 years of marriage.
According to the testimony shared by The Church of Pentecost, Ghana on October 5, 2020 Mrs Kate, 44, gave birth to twins girls.
Three months after their wedding on 5th August, 2000, Kate conceived but suffered a miscarriage in the early stages of the pregnancy. After that unfortunate incident, the couple did everything humanly and medically possible to conceive again but to no avail.
They described the humiliations they had to endure from friends, some Church members, and even family members as “unbearable.” At a point, they even decided not to move forward whenever childless couples were called out for prayers.
For twenty years of their marriage, they spent a huge percentage of their income on medications, hopping from one hospital to another, including fertility hospitals, with the sole aim of having a child.
In 2015, they were made to undergo a surgery called Laparoscopy and were promised that they will conceive within two months but it yielded no positive result. At a point, a doctor taking care of them at one of the hospitals said to them: “What else do you want from me? I have done all that is medically possible for you.” While going home that day, Kate was nearly hit by a vehicle while standing right in the middle of the road unaware.
In September 2019 during a prayer session organised by the Women’s Ministry which was led by the District Pastor, Mrs. Anyane-Lah encountered divine grace and her menstrual cycle ceased.
Upon visiting the hospital, she was told at the first examination that it was a menopausal symptom because she was 44 years. But a test conducted later showed that she had conceived. They did not believe the report so they had to test it three more times by themselves for confirmation with a pregnancy test kit.
On 15th May, 2020, she was delivered of two beautiful twin girls. The children were christined on 19th September at Church of Penticost, Housing Down Assembly in Madina, Accra, Ghana.
An elderly woman from Netherlands has become the first known person to die from catching Covid-19 twice, according to medical experts, raising questions about how long immunity and antibodies can last.
This is the first time someone is reported to have died from a second reinfection of coronavirus.
However there have been some reported cases of reinfection worldwide.
According to researchers at Maastricht University Medical Center in the Netherlands who wrote in a paper accepted for publication in the journal Clinical Infectious Diseases, the 89 year old Dutch woman suffered from a rare type of bone marrow cancer called Waldenström’s macroglobulinemia.
The woman was admitted into hospital earlier this year with a severe cough and fever, after testing positive for Covid-19.
Five days later she was discharged after doctors noticed some persisting fatigue even after her symptoms subsided completely.
Two days into her chemotherapy treatment, just 59 days after the start of the first Covid-19 disease, -the woman developed fever, cough and had difficulty breathing.
She once again tested positive for coronavirus, and no antibodies were detected in her blood system when tested on days four and six. Her condition deteriorated on day eight and 14 days later, the woman died.
According to the scientists, her immune system was compromised due to the cell-depleting therapy she received but her natural immune response could still have been “sufficient” to fight-off Covid-19, as the type of treatment she received for cancer “does not necessarily result in life threatening disease.”
The woman was not tested between infections, so researchers have no confirmed negative tests.
But after examining blood samples from both cases they found the genetic makeup of the two viruses to be different.
They therefore concluded that “it is likely that the second episode was a reinfection rather than prolonged shedding.”
In the Lancet Infectious Diseases report released this week, researchers said: “Reinfection with SARS-CoV-2 has been reported in at least four individuals worldwide. Thus, previous exposure to SARS-CoV-2 does not necessarily translate to guaranteed total immunity.”

A Ugandan man, Dr. Warren Namara has sued his nephew for allegedly defaulting on a loan that he gave him to pursue his post graduate studies abroad and later open up a business.
According to documents before the Commercial Division, Dr. Namara, (pictured with his lawyers) contends that by oral agreement in 2004, he agreed to lend £9,800 (about Shs47m) to his nephew, Mr James Diers Mwangusya.
The soft loan in question was to help Mr Mwangusya undertake his Master’s and PhD studies at the University of Bradford in the UK.
Court documents further show that after the nephew had completed his studies, he again approached his uncle and requested for another loan to enable him start a business.
Dr Namara upon request by his nephew, remitted another loan of $256,066 (Shs947m) and Shs160m to his nephew.
He, however, says, he later discovered that Mr Mwangusya had fraudulently misrepresented the true purpose of the funds in order to trick him to disburse the money.
“In order to induce the plaintiff (Dr Namara), to disburse further loan sums to the defendant (Mr Mwangusya), the defendant represented that he was carrying out an asset financing, project planning or training business,” Dr Namara states in his petition.
“In fact, the representation was false because the defendant was not at the time undertaking/ kick starting any asset financing, project or training business,” Dr Namara further states.
He says Mr Mwangusya claimed he needed £9,800 (Shs47m) to undertake further studies whereas he was not enrolled for a course in any university for a PhD programme.
The petitioner further states that his nephew diverted the loan money to other businesses unrelated to the agreement at the time of disbursing the funds.
Dr Namara who is represented by Kasirye, Byaruhanga & Co. Advocates, said he is seeking to recover the money from Mr Mwangusya.
In his defence, Mr Mwangusya concedes that he is a close relative to Dr Namara. He further claims to have operated a money lending business known as Cashbox which he says his uncle picked interest in and decided to jointly invest in it.
“He (Dr Namara) agreed to invest up to a tune of Shs500m. The return on his investment would be 2 per cent per month of the total sum invested which was projected he would receive at the end of 2019 and the start of 2020,” Mr Mwangusya states in his defence.
He continued: “As a precondition for his participation in this joint investment, the plaintiff (Dr Namara) demanded he becomes a registered partner in the Cashbox business to which the defendant and other partners obliged.”
Mr Mwangusya has also implored the court to note that all the money meant for the joint investment was duly recorded and that his uncle did not object to the figures documented.
The matter had come up for hearing on Monday, October 12, but Mr Mwangusya’s lawyer was absent on grounds that he was sick. The case was adjourned to October 27.
A Nigerian man identified as Odumegwu Chijioke Ugochukwu reportedly slumped and died in Malaysia.
It was gathered that the incident happened on Monday, October 12, at Setapak in Gombak Districk, Kuala Lumpur.
Mr Singleton Nnaemeka, the Secretary of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Malaysia chapter, who confirmed the incident, is seeking for help in locating the deceased’s family.
“Please we are seeking for anyone who knows him or his address or the family to contact any of the Admin of Igbo Community in Malaysia so the necessary arrangement will be made,” he wrote.
Nigerians have reacted to creation of a new unit named Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team, as replacement for the disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).
According to a statement from the Force Public Relations Officer DCP Frank Mba, it is expected that the unit will fill the gaps arising from the dissolution of the defunct SARS. He added that recruitment has commenced for operatives of the new unit.
Nigerians have now reacted to the announcement and also expressed their fear over the new police unit.
Dr Dre’s estranged wife, Nicole Young is now under investigation for allegedly embezzling more than $385,000 from the rapper’s business account amid the couple’s $1billion divorce.
TMZ reported on Tuesday that Dr. Dre’s business partner, Larry Chatman, filed a report with the Los Angeles Police Department claiming that Young withdrew $385,000 from the business account without authorization.
Young had earlier claimed in proceedings that she was entitled to the money since she was a trustee of the account. But Chatman’s attorneys, however, claimed that her name was removed after the first withdrawal, meaning she had no legal access to the funds.
Chatman believes Young stole this money and embezzled the cash with the Los Angeles Police Department now looking into these allegations.
Last month, Dr. Dre and his legal team sent communications to Young and her team demanding the money be put back into the account immediately or she would face legal action.
Young’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman called the move ‘a clear attempt to smear Nicole’s name,’ telling TMZ she was authorized to withdraw the cash amid the marital split.
If Young is brought up on charges, then she could be facing time for embezzlement.
Nicole Young filed for divorce from the rapper after 24 years of marriage in June. The splitting couple have two adult children together: son Truice and daughter Truly.

“Father, hold on” is currently trending in Zambia after a woman disrupted a Catholic church wedding with her children to claim the groom is her husband who slept on the same bed with her the previous night.
The woman says in the now-viral video that there is no issue between her and her husband and they didn’t quarrel. She said he left for his secret wedding from their home that morning and she had no idea he was remarrying.

A 33-year-old man from Telangana, India who made headlines after turning his puja room into a temple for US President Donald Trump has died while fasting for him to recover from Coronavirus.
Bussa Krishna who was concerned about the US President’s health condition following his COVID-19 infection, died of cardiac arrest on Sunday October 11.
The family of the deceased who confirmed that he’s been fasting after learning about Trump’s Coronavirus infection, said he collapsed while having tea at his relative`s residence at Toopran area in Medak district of Telangana.
His cousin Vivek told reporters;
“He was feeling depressed for the last couple of weeks after coming to know that Trump and Melania had tested positive for Covid-19. But he was healthy and had no prior medical complications.”
A school dropout, Krishna became a farmer after his parents moved to Toopran a couple of years ago. His wife died last year while delivering a baby boy.
Krishna started worshipping the US president after Srinivas Kuchibhotla, a indian software engineer was killed by a US navy veteran in an alleged act of hate crime in February 2017.
He said at that time;
