PrettyMike shares a chiiling story of how a lady pressured him to accept a baby that was’nt his

Socialite, PrettyMike, has shared the story of how a lady he met about eight years ago forced a pregnancy he wasn’t responsible for, on him. 

According to PrettyMike, two years after the child was born, he decided to go for a DNA test after noticing the little girl looked nothing like him but had a striking resemblance to a friend he identified as Yomi, who had also slept with the said lady.  He said after the DNA test proved the child was not his, he advised Yomi to also go for a DNA test, but it came out negative.

Posting via his Instagram page, he wrote

”Has the tots of leaving this Lagos or this country crossed ur mind be4….. I HAD a daughter who’s 8 “atleast I wanted to believe she was mine”……

I met this girl at my nite club, asin I just got back to the country not too long ago, she was pretty, very endowed as hell, she told me her name was Amaka, I hosted her and all, asin the nite was smooth, and we finally ended up at my home and we knacked and I settled her in the morning, I was a bit drunk so I didn’t bother replacing the condom after it broke”you all know what I’m talking about abi “…… Let’s say this was Decemeber that year.

6 months down the line, she calls telling me she’s pregnant for me.. it was funny and I wasn’t going to have it..she involved some of her friends, I was Rude and didn’t accept it, not because I was being irresponsible but think am na…1,2,3,4 months you no tell me, until the 6th month. I wasn’t going to have it.. Fast forward, Her friends got my friends involved and one of my guys “Yomi” took it upon himself to pressure me to accept just to reduce the drama.

Can u believe this girl was 7+ months gone and I caught her red handed sleeping with my so call friend Yomi, same guy that was advocating for her. At this point I made up my mind that they’d kill me be4 I will accept the child without a DNA test.

She finally Gave birth to an immaculate princess and it melted me. I don’t know if it was Kayanmata she used on me den, cause DNA never crossed my mind until two years ago, this babe girl keep growing but looked nothing like me, instead I could see my guy Yomi’s face in her.

I built some courage and went for a DNA test she wasn’t mine but I still wanted to help and asked my friend Yomi to come in for the same test, Lo and behold, Yomi wasn’t the father too….. ”

“Caf’s disciplinary panel rejects purely and simply the complaint by Fecofa.” Guelor Kanga accused of identity fraud

The DR Congo Football Federation (Fecofa) has said that it will be discussing a further appeal against Confederation of African Football’s (Caf) dismissal of its claim of Gabonese footballer, Guelor Kanga committing identity fraud. 

While official documents said the Red Star Belgrade footballer is 30 years old and was born in Oyem, Gabon, on September 1, 1990, Fecofa is disputing the claim by alleging that Kanga’s mother died in their country in 1986, and that he was born in Kinshasa in 1985.

The attacking midfielder who has been playing in Europe for about a decade now, is being accused of not only taking more than five years off his actual age but also falsifying his nationality. The football body also submitted paperwork to back up their claims.

This was however countered by the Gabon Football Federation (Fegafoot) which provided documents to prove that Kanga is eligible to play for Gabon, including a birth certificate. 

Ruling on the case after an investigation, CAF’s disciplinary committee said; 

“The proof offered by Fecofa was not convincing nor sufficient to establish identity fraud by Fegafoot.

“The disciplinary panel did not notice any irregularities in the eligibility of the player in question and his registration with Caf.

“Caf’s disciplinary panel rejects purely and simply the complaint by Fecofa.”

Fecofa which now has three days to appeal against this ruling, said it will be meeting to discuss a further appeal. 

If the appeal should proceed, it puts Gabon on the verge of disqualification from 2021 AFCON finals. Kanga who has 46 caps for Gabon since his debut nine years ago, featured for Gabon in all of their six 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier matches including both legs against DR Congo.

DR Congo who finished third, had hoped a ruling against Kanga would see the Panthers lose 10 points and see the Leopards qualify instead.

Former aviation minister, Femi Fani-Kayode has found love again. This time, the lawyer and politician is head over heels in love with a beauty queen, Miss Ezenwa Chika Nerita who was crowned as Queen of Aso International 2019/2020.

This comes a few months after he parted ways with the mother of his four sons, Precious Chikwendu.

His new boo, Nerita was present two days ago at the birthday celebration of his triplets in Abuja and was seen visibly coordinating and entertaining guests.

Manchester United goalkeeper, David de Gea, recieves ‘hate letter’ following Europa league loss

A fan has sent a hate mail to Manchester United goalkeeper, David De Gea following his poor performance in goal for the club in last night’s Europa League final loss.


Villarreal played out a 1-1 draw with United on Wednesday May 26, and had to play extra time then penalties.

The subsequent shoot-out was much more entertaining as 21 out of 21 spot-kicks were scored, meaning it was left to De Gea to take one himself with it all on the line.

Unfortunately, De Gea’s shot was weak and easily saved by his opposite number, Geronimo Rulli, meaning United’s four-year wait for a trophy goes on.


According to reports, legendary Manchester United manager, Sir Alex Ferguson waited for David De Gea after the medal ceremony and walked down the tunnel with him as he cheered him and gave him comfort .

Some Manchester United fans believe the club would have won the Europa League final had substitute goal keeper, Dean Henderson played in the penalty shoot-out rather than David de Gea.

De Gea is poor at saving penalties – failing to save any of the last 21 he has faced outside of shoot-outs dating back to 2016 – whereas Henderson has saved eight in that time.

It’s now 40 penalties in a row that De Gea has failed to catch for club and country.

Following the criticism the keeper got, De Gea has now revealed the hate filled mail sent to him by a ‘fan’.


In the mail, the United fan went too far by wishing De Gea’s newly born child dies, his wife gets raped, while also wishing the goalkeeper dies from a plane crash.


The United fan wrote;

“David De Gea I hope your newborn dies and has the worst death of his life. I hope your wife gets raped  by the people that killed your new born.” The message reads.


“I will make dua you rot in jahanam and you die a painful death ameen ya roab. When you are on your way back to England I hope the Munich disasters is reincarnated”

A Nigerian man and his accomplices arrested in Bangkok over N2B romance scam

A Nigerian man identified as Ezeneche Uzochukwu and five Thais has been arrested in Bangkok for a N2 billion romance scam.

A police search of seven locations in Bangkok, Nakhon Sawan, Phuket and Pathum Thani on Monday, led to the arrest of the six suspects, Pol Maj Gen Suwat Saengnoom, chief of the Crime Suppression Division, said on Tuesday May 26.

According to Bangkok media, the suspects were identified as Ms. Punyawee Chusinjiraphat, 46; Mr. Ezeneche Uzochukwu Jorome, 44, a Nigerian national; Ms. Sasithorn Nuankaew, 22; Mr. Sudjai Kamnon, 34; Mr. Thotsaphol Siripru, 33, and Mr. Nirandon Thianthavorn, 29., were arrested on Monday, May 25, and charged with conspiracy to defraud and putting false information into the computer system

The report states that the arrest came after a victim filed a complaint with Pol Maj Gen Jirabhop Bhuridej, deputy commissioner of the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB), last year, saying she had been swindled out of 1 million baht in a romance scam. The Crime Suppression Division of Bangkok police then began an investigation and found that the gang, comprising both Thais and foreign nationals, had colluded in swindling the complainant.

Police investigations revealed that one member of the gang opened an Instagram account under the name Mr Lanny Gray. He then approached the victim, claiming to be an American businessman working in Malaysia. After befriending the victim, the man switched to communicating through the Line chat app, sending numerous messages and promising to live in Thailand with her. After gaining her trust, he told her she would send parcels containing valuable items to her.

The police say another gang member, a Thai, later contacted the victim by phone, claiming to be an agent from a shipping firm and telling her to pay fees to receive the parcels. The woman had paid almost 1 million baht but had yet to receive any packages, said Pol Maj Gen Suwat.

After receiving money from the victim, the gang also tried to swindle more money from her. Another gang member, claiming to be a hospital employee from Malaysia, had phoned her and said Mr Lanny Gray had suffered serious injuries in an accident and was under treatment at a hospital. The impostor had asked her to pay almost 500,000 baht in medical bills for Mr Gray. The woman became suspicious and tried to contact him but failed. She decided not to wire the money and filed a complaint with the police at Wang Thong Lang police station.

Pol Col Wiwat Jitsophakul, superintendent of the CSD sub-division 3, who led the arrest, said investigators took more than five months to find clues about seven people involved in the scam. He said several women had fallen victim to the gang over the past few years, said Pol Col Wiwat. He said the gang had used about 50 bank accounts of other people to receive money transfers from victims. Once the money had been transferred, they used ATM cards to withdraw the money and deposited it to personal bank accounts, said the sub-division three chiefs.

The police say the Nigerian man runs a restaurant and a currency exchange shop as front businesses to conceal his wrongdoings. Police seized documents from those businesses for examination. The Bangkok investigators also found that the Nigerian suspect had committed a similar offence in 2018 in Chiang Mai by claiming to be a decommissioned South African military officer to lure his victim online. The investigators believed several women had fallen victim to this gang.

During the questioning, the six suspects denied all charges. They were handed over to Wang Thong Lang police for legal action. Police were extending the investigation and tracking down the seventh suspect, who was still at large.

Kim Kardashian fails her Bar exam

Kim Kardashian, who is training to become a lawyer like her late dad, failed to get a passing grade on the baby bar exam.

Kim made it known on a preview of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians”. Though she failed the exam months ago, it remained a secret, until she opened up in a preview of her family’s reality show.

Kim said, “If you are doing law school the way I’m doing it, it is a 4-year program instead of your typical 3-year program, and after year 1, you have to take the baby bar. This was actually harder, I hear, than the official bar.”

Kim scored 474 on the exam but the cut-off mark is 560.

Kim’s mentor in taking the exam, attorney Jessica Jackson, said, “That is extremely close on a test that most people are not taking in the middle of a pandemic.” 

On April 22, Kim shared a photo of herself studying in the sun while clad in a bikini.

Teen girl’s appendix and part of her intestines removed after dangerous TikTok trend

A 13-year-old girl who copied a dangerous TikTok trend was rushed to hospital for emergency surgery after she started vomiting “black stuff” and complained of bad stomach pains.

Faye Elizabeth’s daughter, who didn’t want her name to be public, ended up having her appendix and part of her bowel removed.

The challenge she took part in is one that shows users how to create the appearance of a tongue piercing by placing magnetic ball bearings underneath and on top of the tongue, Liverpool ECHO reports.

The teenager tried to take part in the challenge and film it but she only succeeded in swallowing the beads, with 15 magnetic beads mashed amongst her internal organs.

The girl’s mother, Faye, from Rainhill in Merseyside, England, said: “The pains got worse so I took her to Whiston Hospital.

“They thought it might have been her appendix at first.

“Then they ruled that out and thought it might have been gastroenteritis until she started vomiting black stuff.

“They did a scan and found 10 of the ball bearings.”

Magnetic balls were lodged in her bowel and appendix, Faye added.

 The girl was rushed in for emergency surgery at Alder Hey Children’s hospital.

Faye said: “They had to take part of her bowel away and re-stitch it. There was one stuck in her appendix so they had to remove that.”

The mum added: “I don’t know when she swallowed them because she didn’t admit at first to doing it. I think she was a bit scared of admitting what she’d done.

“Apparently she watched a TikTok video where there’s a trend that all the kids are doing at the minute.

“I haven’t actually seen it but she told me about it and a lot of other children her age have seen it.

“They put one of the beads on top of their tongue and one underneath and it makes it look like their tongue is pierced.

“And then she saw one where they put a big bead in the side of your cheek and put little beads on top of your cheek and you move it with your tongue so they move on your face.

“They’re magnets but because they’re so small they’re easy to swallow.”

Just last Sunday, May 23, an 11-year-old boy was left on his death bed after copying the same tongue-piercing game.

He swallowed five small magnetic balls and was left in a “critical” condition after infections spread from two major surgeries

UEFA fines Zlatan Ibrahimovic €50,000 for owning stakes in a betting company

European football governing body, UEFA have confirmed that AC Milan striker, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been fined €50,000 for his involvement in a betting company, with his club also fining him €25,000.


The Swedish star, owns a 10 per cent stake in Bethard, a Malta-based gambling website and it is against the rules of UEFA to have any financial interest in a betting company.


After opening an investigation last month, UEFA on Wednesday, May 26 issued a statement.


“The Chairman of the UEFA Appeals Body today took the following decisions:


“To fine Mr. Zlatan Ibrahimovic €50,000 for violating Article 12(2)(b) of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations (DR), i.e. for having a financial interest in a betting company.


“The Chairman of the UEFA Appeals Body also issued Mr. Ibrahimovic with a directive aimed at ceasing the player’s association with the relevant betting company.


“Finally, the Chairman of the UEFA Appeals Body decided to warn and fine AC Milan €25,000 for violating Article 12(2)(b) of the UEFA DR (in connection with Article 8 of the UEFA DR) for its player, Mr. Zlatan Ibrahimovic, having a financial interest in a betting company.”

Governor Dapo Abiodun’s suspended aide, Bidemi Rufai to be detained indefinitely in US Prison for 350K fraud

United States District Court for the Western District of Washington at Tacoma, has ordered the indefinite detention of Governor Dapo Abiodun’s aide, Bidemi Rufai who is accused of being involved in $350,000 COVID-19 unemployment fraud in the United States.

The Ogun state Governor’s aide was arrested at a US airport on May 14, while on his way to Amsterdam. He was accused of using the identities of more than 100 Washington residents to steal more than $350,000 in unemployment benefits from the Washington State Employment Security Department (ESD) during the COVID-19 pandemic last year.

Rufai’s release on bail on Wednesday May 26, was stalled after United States Department of Justice raised an alarm of the surety he provided being a suspected fraudster.

The U.S. authorities said the surety provided, a nurse, Nekpen Soyemi is a suspected fraudster and should not be allowed to stand surety for Mr Rufai.

Rufai’s bail was denied following a move by the government for “a stay of the release order.” The order was granted by U.S. District Judge, Benjamin Settle.

It read; 

“The release order is STAYED, and the defendant shall remain in custody pending this Court’s decision on the government’s motion for review.”

Mary V. Macauley, who has now published two books, revealed that not long ago, she didn’t know how to send an email. Now she’s a published author.

Court hearing adjourned after ‘s3x-starved’ woman cried uncontrollably during court session

A magistrate’s court at Mwenezi in Zimbabwe was forced to adjourn its sitting after a sex-starved woman wailed uncontrollably during a court session.

According to The Mirror, there was mild drama in the court room as Siphelile Maroyi who had approached the court seeking a protection order created a spectacle when she wailed in the middle of the hearing with claims that her husband, Rindai Tsvairai last made love to her three years ago.

Maroyi noted that her husband whose love went cold three years ago, has since married another wife and stopped caring for his children.

Recounting how her husband recently came in company of his niece to collect a refrigerator, sofas, and other goods from the company house which they used to stay at Neshuro, the lady said Tsvairai’s relative threatened to beat her when she asked them to stop. 

The lady who accused her husband of squandering the wealth they accumulated together, also alleged that they had 115 herds of cattle but Tsvairai sold most of them without her knowledge.

Tsvairai however denied the claim, saying they only had 15 cattle in their kraal. He also revealed that his wife refused to go and stay at their rural home after they left the company house.

Magistrate Honesty Musiiwa granted Maroyi the protection order before the adjournment.

Villarreal claims Europa League Champions crown after beating Manchester United

Spanish club, Villarreal have been crowned Europa League champions.


On Wednesday night, May 26, Villarreal played out a 1-1 full time draw with Manchester United and then went to extra-time to beat United 11-10 in a tense penalty shootout that David De Gea was found wanting through out .


United started with a strong line up using the likes of Pogba, Cavani, Rashford, Fernandes and Greenwood while Villarreal started with key defender Pao Torres even though Samuel Chukwueze was missing through injury.


Villarreal had the first laugh as G.Moreno scored in the 29 minute after receiving a cross that Lindelof failed to clear out.


United continued to pressure Villarreal with incessant counterattacks but had to wait till the second half to have a breakthrough.


Cavani took advantage of some slack defending to power in United’s goal in the 55 minute, and United continued with the pressure after VAR confirmed the goal.


United tried to score but were denied over and over again with Rashford missing a one on one with the keeper.


The match entered extra-time and both teams failed to score.

Zinedine Zidane quits after losing LaLiga title to rivals Atletico Madrid

Zinedine Zidane has resigned as manager of Real Madrid with immediate effect.

Los Blancos were knocked out of the Champions League in the semi-final and also missed out on the LaLiga title.

According to Sportsmail,  Zidane would have walked away from the club regardless of whether they secured the title after Zidane sensed for some time that he did not have the backing of the club’s president, Florentino Perez. 


Spanish publication AS, report Zidane has already informed both the club’s directors and the first team squad that he has left the club.


The Frenchman had been in charge of in two spells since 2016, and has won three Champions Leagues in the Spanish capital. 


He also guided Madrid to the LaLiga title last season but they were unable to repeat the feat this time around in a trophy-less campaign after struggling with injuries and an ageing squad.


They lost in the Champions League semi-final against Chelsea and were also dumped out of the Copa del Rey at the round of 32 stage.


Zidane is expected to be an immediate target for Juventus or the France national team following his departure from the Bernabeu.

A man named Angel Hernandez Grado livstreamed his last moments before he shot himself in the head.

In the video shared to his Instagram Stories, Angel is seen in his car, holding a gun while preparing to take his life.

His cousin called him but he refused to pick up. Another loved one called and began singing to him and he broke down in tears.

Police surrounded his car and tried to talk him out of making any rash decisions but Angel, who has a love for cars and writes about cars, wouldn’t listen.

Friends also left comments, begging him not to kill himself, all to no avail.

Instead, he informed them about the kind of memorial he would want when he’s gone.

A helicopter was sent to the scene and police cars were also at the scene. A female police officer kept trying to get him to step out of his car but the father-of-one wouldn’t budge.

His last post on his Stories was a photo of his son.

He shot himself in the head and was rushed to the hospital in critical condition on Wednesday morning,  May 26. He didn’t make it.

Friends took to Instagram to mourn him. But not everyone was sympathetic.

Turns out he had led police on a car chase and hours-long standoff on the 5 Freeway in San Clemente after they tried to track him down for allegedly abusing his child’s mother.

According to the San Diego Police Department, a female victim contacted authorities about 8:40 p.m. Tuesday, May 25, and said her boyfriend had tried to strangle her.

The naked woman flagged down officers on Central Avenue, near Landis Street, and told them her boyfriend had attacked her and tried to strangle her at a nearby home.

An ambulance crew took the victim to a hospital for an evaluation.

By the time officers got to the residence where the alleged assault had occurred, Angel, 28, had already fled.

About two hours later, authorities found the suspect driving on the 15 Freeway, near the 8 Freeway interchange in San Diego County.

When the driver refused to pull over, a pursuit ensued, making its way to the northbound 5 Freeway, a Police Department spokesman said.

At one point a spike strip was deployed and the suspect’s vehicle came to a stop near Cristianitos Road. A barricade situation followed, prompting a shutdown of the southbound 5 Freeway.

Video from AIR7 HD showed a ring of about three dozen law enforcement vehicles, including two armored vehicles, surrounding the suspect’s car, ABC 7 reports.

The stand off continued overnight and ended on Wednesday morning when he shot himself.

Some have called out his child’s mother following his death. Others criticized the deceased for abusing his child’s mother.

Young Nigerian man sentenced to death for Drug trafficking in Vietnam

A 23-year-old Nigerian man was sentenced to death on Tuesday, May 25, for smuggling nearly six kilos of methamphetamine from Cambodia to Vietnam.

Theophilus Ugwu was charged with “illegal trafficking of narcotic substances” by the People’s Court of  Western province of Tay Ninh, Vietnam, Thanh Nien newspaper reported.

On March 8 2020, police found Ugwu transporting 12 bags containing meth from Cambodia to Vietnam in Tay Ninh’s Ben Cau District. The meth weighed around 5.92 kilograms.

Ugwu said he came from Nigeria to Cambodia in February last year as a soccer player. But in March, he became acquainted with another African, who promised to help him play for a famous Cambodian club.

On March 8, the man hired Ugwu to deliver a bag containing the drugs from Phnom Penh to Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC). Tay Ninh borders both HCMC and Phnom Penh.

Ugwu accepted the deal and got $1,000, but was eventually busted by police as he tried to smuggle the drugs into Vietnam through less-traveled paths.

In court, Ugwu said he did not know the bag contained drugs.

The repeated seizure of huge amounts of narcotics has occurred despite Vietnam having some of the world’s toughest drug laws.

Those convicted of possessing or smuggling more than 600 grams of heroin or cocaine or over 2.5 kg of methamphetamine could face capital punishment.

Production or sale of 100 grams of heroin or 300 grams of any other illegal substance is also punishable by death.

John Cena, fast & furious Actor, apologises to China for referring to Taiwan as a ‘country’

Wrestler and actor, John Cena has apologized to China, professing his love for the country after calling Taiwan a “country” during an interview that generated a backlash among fans in China, Hollywood’s most important international market.


The controversy erupted after Cena who plays the brother of Vin Diesel’s Dom Toretto in the ninth edition of the popular “Fast & Furious” franchise gave an interview to Taiwanese broadcaster TVBS promoting the film.


“Taiwan is the first country that can watch F9,” Cena spoke in Mandarin to TVBS.


Taiwan is a self-governed democratic island, but China claims it as its sovereign territory despite the two sides being ruled separately since the end of a civil war over 70 years ago. 


China angrily frowns at any suggestion of Taiwan’s independence and tries to punish whoever insinuated such by using their huge economic power to control speech on the topic around the world.


In 2018, the Chinese government demanded that American Airlines (AAL), Delta (DAL) and United (UAL) change the way they referred to Taiwan or risk sanctions in China, one of the world’s biggest markets for air travel.


Following the outrage in China after Cena’s interview, on Tuesday, May 25, Cena offered an apology on Weibo, China’s popular social media platform. 


Speaking again in Mandarin, Cena did not refer to Taiwan by name but said that he “did a lot of interviews” and “made a mistake.”


“I’m sorry for my mistake,” Cena said. “I must say now, [it’s] very, very, very, very important [that] I love, and respect even more, China and the Chinese people.”


China is the world’s second biggest economy and the world’s biggest box office.

The “Fast & Furious” franchise has received great success in China and the new F9 made nearly $136 million in China last weekend, making it the biggest opening for a Hollywood film during the pandemic.

WhatsApp sues Indian Govt. over new law that forces them to hand over private information about their users to the Indian Government

WhatsApp has sued the Indian government in a bid to block new rules it says would lead to “mass surveillance” by forcing social media platforms to hand over private information about their users.


The company owned by Facebook, confirmed Wednesday, May 26, that the lawsuit has has been filed with the Delhi High Court. 


The lawsuit is an attempt to stop strict rules that are supposed to take effect Wednesday in India.


The new rules demand that social media companies create special roles in India to keep them in compliance with local law, and to stay in contact with law enforcement 24/7. 


New rules also require that social media companies remove posts that feature “full or partial nudity.” 

However, WhatsApp’s disagreement with India is the rule that would require companies to trace the “first originator” of problematic messages or posts that go viral if asked by authorities, a demand that would effectively end any guarantee of user privacy by requiring the Whatsapp to keep track of every message.


“Requiring messaging apps to ‘trace’ chats is the equivalent of asking us to keep a fingerprint of every single message sent on WhatsApp, which would break end-to-end encryption and fundamentally undermines people’s right to privacy,” a company spokesperson said in a statement to CNN Business. 


“We have consistently joined civil society and experts around the world in opposing requirements that would violate the privacy of our users. “

WhatsApp has 400 million users in India, its biggest market and deployed end-to-end encryption in 2016 so that calls, messages, photos, videos and voice notes are only shared with the intended recipient and no one else including WhatsApp. 


But if the new rules are to go ahead, WhatsApp would have to keep giant databases of every message, the company said.


A government “that chooses to mandate traceability is effectively mandating a new form of mass surveillance,” WhatsApp wrote in a blog post about why it opposes the practice. 


“Traceability forces private companies to turn over the names of people who shared something even if they did not create it, shared it out of concern, or sent it to check its accuracy.”


The new regulations set to kick off Wednesday were announced in February just weeks after the government attempted to pressure Twitter (TWTR) to take down accounts it deemed incendiary.

William Shakespeare, the first man in the world to be vaccinated against coronavirus, has died aged 81.

William Shakespeare’s name and face were shared across the globe on December 8 last year after receiving his vaccine at the University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire.

Sadly, the pensioner from Coventry died last Thursday, May 20, at the same hospital, of an unrelated illness.

Local councillor Jayne Innes has described him as a “much-loved figure” with the Coventry Labour party, The Mirror reports.

Ms Innes said: “He was such a lovely man, one who had a real commitment to making his local area better.

“During lockdown local families will have enjoyed walking amongst the trees planted by Bill and his colleagues in Allesley back in the 1980s.

“He was also very involved with the creation of the Coundon Wood in 2005 and in fundraising for the purchase of Elkin Wood, now managed by the Woodland Trust in 1997.”

Marilyn Manson to be arrested over 2 assault charges issued in New Hampshire

Embattled American singer, Marilyn Manson has a warrant out for his arrest on two assault charges that allegedly occurred during his concert in 2019. 

The singer, 52,  whose real name is Brian Warner, faces two counts of Class A Misdemeanor Simple Assault, New Hampshire’s Gilford Police Department announced on Facebook Tuesday May 25.


The post states that Manson is facing “two counts of Class A misdemeanor Simple Assault stemming from a 2019 incident at the Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion.”


The department added that Manson, as well as his agent and legal counsel, have been aware of the warrant “for some time” and that Manson made no effort to return to the state to answer the charges.


Manson’s attorney Howard King called the police department’s claim “ludicrous” in a statement to USA TODAY, but added that he and his client “remain committed to cooperating with authorities, as we have done throughout.”

“It is no secret to anyone who has attended a Marilyn Manson concert that he likes to be provocative on stage, especially in front of a camera,” King said. “This misdemeanor claim was pursued after we received a demand from a venue videographer for more than $35,000 after a small amount of spit came into contact with their arm. After we asked for evidence of any alleged damages, we never received a reply.”


According to law enforcement, Manson was performing at the Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion, a local outdoor amphitheater, on Aug. 18, 2019, when the assaults allegedly occurred. The alleged assaults, which authorities say were not sexual in nature, involved a videographer in the stage pit, who was subcontracted to film the show.


A Class A misdemeanor in New Hampshire can carry a possible jail sentence of less than one year and a fine of up to $2,000.00, authorities added.


In addition to these latest charges, the singer has been accused of assault by multiple women, including his ex-fiancé Evan Rachel Wood and “Game of Thrones” actress Esmé Bianco. 


In April, Bianco filed a lawsuit accusing Manson of sexual assault, sexual battery, and human trafficking, and in February, “Westworld” star Wood alleged Manson “horrifically abused” her “for years.”


The musician’s former assistant Ashley Walters also accused him of sexual assault, battery and harassment in a lawsuit filed May 18, in which she alleged Manson treated her “like his property,” repeatedly giving his friends permission to grope, kiss and “have her.”

He was dropped by his recording label Loma Vista Recordings and Creative Artists Agency despite denying the allegations.

Alleged ‘Yahoo Yahoo Boy’ allegedly kills his twin brother in Delta then sits beside decomposing body

A suspected internet fraudster has been arrested over the death of his twin brother at Oleh, headquarters of Isoko South Local Government Area, Delta State. 

The suspect was reportedly found with a dog and the decomposing body of his twin brother in their apartment at Old Olomoro Road, Monday, May 24, after neighbours perceived an offensive smell emanating from the flat.

The neighbours broke into the house that had been locked for days. There, they found the suspected Yahoo boy, sitting beside his brother’s decomposing corpse.

Though the reason for the killing could not be ascertained, eyewitnesses opined it might have been carried out for ritual purposes.

A source told Vanguard: “The house was locked for some days and after some time, the people living in the compound began to perceive foul smell that attracted flies around the apartment.

“The neighbours then alerted the police at the Oleh divisional headquarters. The door was forced open and they found him sitting close to the decomposing body of his twin brother. A dog was also found in the house.”

The source said the corpse of the deceased had been deposited in a mortuary in the area while the suspect and his dog were taken into custody by the police.

Confirming the incident on Wednesday, May 26, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Bright Edafe, said the police had commenced investigation into the matter.

He, however, added, “For now, there is no evidence that it was for ritual purpose. When they broke into the house, they saw the decomposing body and the twin brother.”

UEFA unveil the trophy for the newly-formed Europa Conference League

UEFA have officially unveiled the trophy and branding for the Europa Conference League, which begins next season. 

The trophy, which stands 57.5cm tall and weighing 11kg, consists of 32 hexagonal spines one for each team in the group stage of the competition, twisting and curving from the trophy base.

Clubs will qualify for the competition based on their performance in their national leagues and cup competitions. It will be the third tier of European club football, after the Champions League and the Europa League.

“We want to make our competitions more inclusive – to give clubs and fans the chance to dream and compete for European honours,” said UEFA President Aleksander ?eferin.

“This is why we created the UEFA Europa Conference League. We have 55 national associations who make up UEFA, and it is important to give clubs from as many federations as possible, the chance to prolong their European campaigns for as long as possible.”

Tottenham will be England’s first representative in the new tournament after they finished 7th in the Premier League table. They will go straight into the play-off round, which will be played on August 19 and 26, just five days after the 2021-22 Premier League season begins on August 14.

Ex. Liverpool striker, Daniel Sturridge is being sued for failing to pay £26,000 reward to man who found his lost Pomeranian dog in Los Angeles in 2019

Ex-England and Liverpool striker, Daniel Sturridge is being sued by a man who found his stolen dog in Los Angeles two years ago. 

At that time, Sturridge made a plea on social media after his beloved Pomeranian dog named Lucci, who is worth £4,000, was stolen after his house was burgled in July 2019, with bags also stolen. 

The footballer promised a reward of £26,000 ($30,000) to whoever found the pet but Foster Washington, the man claiming to have found the dog, is now filing a new lawsuit stating Sturridge still owes him the reward money, as per a report by TMZ Sports.  

The report details that Washington says he found Lucci on the street after the burglary in July 2019 before reaching out to Sturridge, expecting the reward in return for finding his dog. 

But Washington insists Sturridge has not paid him anything at all, so he’s now suing over claims that Sturridge breached a contract by not living up to the reward offer.

While Police took fingerprints from a broken door, the footballer took matters into his own hands by pleading for help on social media.

The loss of the favourite pet Lucci was what he was most upset about and Sturridge insisted the ‘dognappers’ should come back ‘if they wanted to make money.’

In an angry tirade online, Sturridge said: ‘Listen, somebody’s broken into the house in LA, took my dog from the house. Listen, whoever knows who broke into my crib, I’ll pay you anything. 

‘I’m dead serious. I want to know what’s gone on, I want to know why they’ve took my dog, I want to know why they’ve taken bags from upstairs. I want to know what the f*** has gone on, I’m dead serious. 

‘How can you break into a house in LA and take somebody’s dog, are you crazy? You’ve come into a house to take a dog? 

‘Yo, somebody please find my dog. I will pay anything I’m dead serious, I want my dog back.’  

The man who found the dog later called out sturridge for not fulfilling his promise.

Rocco Morabito, Italian drug lord, arrested by the Brazilian Police after years on the run

An Italian mafia boss and notorious drug smuggler dubbed the “king of cocaine” has been arrested in Brazil two years after breaking out of prison in Uruguay and going on the run.


Rocco Morabito, a fugitive drug lord with ties to the powerful ‘Ndrangheta criminal gang, was arrested in a hotel room in the city of Joao Pessoa on Monday May 24, Brazil’s justice ministry said.


He broke out of prison in June 2019 by escaping through the roof with three other inmates in Uruguay’s capital Montevideo, the country’s authorities said at the time.

Morabito, Italy’s second most wanted criminal, had been wanted for 23 years for convictions including Mafia association and drug trafficking before his previous arrest in September 2017.

Then, he was found using a fake name and false Brazilian passport, and living in a luxury villa with its own swimming pool in the seaside resort of Punta del Este in Uruguay.


Morabito was convicted in 1994 after doing a £6.2m drug deal to import almost a tonne of cocaine into Italy, but fled the country before he could be jailed.

He was awaiting extradition to Italy when he escaped jail in Uruguay.


He was detained along with two other foreigners. One of the foreigners was another Italian fugitive.

In a statement, the Brazilian federal police said that Morabito, 54, had been involved in the trafficking of drugs between Brazil and Italy since the 1990s.

He was the subject of an Interpol red notice for his role between 1988 to 1994 in international drug trafficking, including an attempt to import over 1,000 kilos of cocaine between 1992 and 1993.


The Federal Police said that Italian police traveled to Brazil for the arrest and were involved in the operation.

“(Morabito) was considered the second most wanted criminal in Italy and accused of involvement with the ‘Ndrangheta, considered one of the largest and most powerful criminal organizations in the world,” the Justice Ministry said.

Georginio Wijnaldum, Liverpool star, agrees 3-year deal to join Barcelona until 2024

Liverpool midfielder, Georginio Wijnaldum has agreed to join Barcelona on a three- year deal after rejecting a switch to Bayern Munich.

Football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano confirmed the news on Twitter, stating that the Dutch star will sign the deal until 2024 “in the next few days” after an emotional goodbye at Anfield last week.

He also said Barcelona and Wijnaldum’s representatives are working on “reducing” his salary. The 30-year-old was on around £90,000 a week with the Reds.

NPHCDA – Over 4,600 people have received 2nd dose of AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine in Nigeria

The National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) has disclosed that a total of 4,683 people have received the second dose of AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine in the country. 

NPHCDA Executive Director, Dr Faisal Shuaib made the disclosure at a press conference to update Nigerians on the status of the vaccination exercise in Abuja on Tuesday May 25. 

Revealing that the agency has almost completed administering all first doses as of Monday May 24, Shuaib also disclosed that 1,929,237 Nigerians have been captured so far, representing 96 per cent of the targeted population.

He said; 

“We are advising that all Nigerians who have received their first dose should check their vaccination cards for the date of their second dose, and ensure that they receive the second dose to gain full protection against COVID-19.

“As we transition to administering second doses, our teams have assessed the communication and mobilisation activities that have been undertaken thus far to create awareness for the COVID-19 vaccine and encourage uptake.

“We will be building on the work we have already done in these areas to ensure that Nigerians can easily access accurate information about COVID-19 vaccination.”

The NPHCDA boss gave the assurance that the agency would continue engagement and communication with communities across the country, noting that the success recorded with the first dose was the collective efforts of all stakeholders.

Acknowledging the challenges of vaccine supply in the global community, he also hinted that Nigeria might receive the next consignment of vaccines by end of July or August. 

Shuaib added; 

“When we are able to, we will provide an update regarding timelines and details of the next shipment. At present, we do not have that information available due to the wider context we are in. However, we can update you on some positive developments.

“Pfizer and BioNTech pledged on Friday of last week to provide one billion doses of their COVID-19 vaccine to low-and-middle-income countries by the end of 2021, and another one billion doses in 2022.”

No ‘family visits’ for England players at their St George’s Park base during Euro 2021

UEFA have banned families from visiting England players at St George’s Park during the European Championship.

Gareth Southgate was hoping to give family members access to the team’s Burton base but the England boss has now revealed UEFA is against the decision.

He said: ‘We’re not going to be able to let people in. There’s a clear edict from UEFA on what the bubbles need to look like to be as secure as we can make them.

‘It’s never going to be 100 per cent failsafe but we’ve got to comply with as much as we can.’ 

However, the England boss fears that may not even be possible, adding: ‘It’d be a preference for us if we can, but that’s constantly being assessed. 

We’ve got to monitor not only our own situation but where we are as a country, what are the variants, what the Government guidelines are.

‘So we hope to do that and we’re working towards that, but it is going to be limited access, which we have to accept is going to be harder for some players to cope with than for others.

‘You know everybody’s going to react to that and respond to that differently.’

US Rapper, Metro Marrs, arrested after spraying $10,000 cash at his own high school graduation ceremony

Rapper, Metro Marrs has been arrested and detained by police for ‘making it rain’ at his own graduation.


The rapper who graduated from Langston Hughes High School in Atlanta on Friday last week, celebrated by pulling out $10,000 in cash and throwing it all over the stage.


His fellow graduating classmates went wild and cheered him as a wild money picking frenzy occured but school management was not pleased with the action.

Police handcuffed the 18-year-old and escorted him out of the commencement ceremony. He was detained for attempting to ‘start a riot and disorderly conduct’, and ticketed for the offense.


Marrs was reportedly detained for several hours. It’s unclear if he is facing any charges related to the incident.

“I wonder if his major was marketing…Either way this was genius!” a fan wrote.


Speaking with gossip site, TSR l, Metro explained that he hadn’t seen his fellow classmates in person all year due to the pandemic and this was his way of giving back to some of them who may not have received money for their graduation.


“I was creating a moment that would be memorable,” said Metro, who waited until every student walked before throwing the money. 


“I had to do that for the last time. Everybody was lit! We graduating high school!”

Manchester star, Marcus Rashford, 23, building 80 acre five-bedroom mansion in Manchester complete with its own golf course

Manchester United footballer, Marcus Rashford is building a five-bedroom home fitted with its own golf course.

According to the Sun UK, Rashford bought the unused golf club in Cheshire, Manchester last May and has started building an eco-friendly house on the site with the nine-hole private golf course to play with friends.


The UK government granted planning permission to his company MUCS Properties back in February this year.


The new home will boasts a basement with wine cellar, gym, indoor swimming pool, plant room, games room and chill-out area.


The ground floor will have a den, study, lounge, dining room, open-plan kitchen and breakfast room while the first floor will have a master bedroom with en suite and walk-in dresser, four other bedrooms three of which are also en suite and a family bathroom.


Rashford is also building a two-storey apartment for guests, linked to the house by a passageway at the site in Cheshire according to the report.


The grounds, including the golf course, cover 80 acres. Rashford earns £200,000 per week at United.

But Scotland Yard today said it does not believe the self-styled ‘Black Panther of Oxford’ who is fighting for her life in hospital was the intended target.

Commander Alison Heydari said: “From our enquiries so far, we have established that Sasha had been at a party at a house on Consort Road in Peckham early on Sunday morning.

“Around 3am a group of four black males dressed in dark coloured clothing entered the garden of the property and discharged a firearm. They had left the scene before officers arrived.

“We are aware of Sasha’s involvement in the Black Lives Matter movement in the UK and I understand the concern this will cause to some communities – however I wish to stress that at this time there is nothing to suggest Sasha was the victim of a targeted attack.

“We are also not aware of any reports of threats made against her prior to this incident.”

She went on to call the incident “shocking”, adding that the force’s “thoughts are with the family”.

Ms Heydari said the suspects are black men who were dressed in dark clothing and “there is no suggestion they knew Sasha”.

“There is someone out there who knows who carried out this attack and these people do not deserve their protection,” she added.

Forensic experts have been at the Consort Road area looking for evidence with Police been securing CCTV from the area, as well as footage from devices that may have recorded people in and around the home where the gathering was taking place.

However, Ms. Johnson’s Taking the Initiative Party criticised the Met’s statement for dismissing claims of alleged death threats sent to the activist prior to the incident

In their own statement, released online, they objected to the characterization of the attack on Johnson.

“Whilst we are overwhelmed by the love and the support for Sasha, we are also deeply saddened and disgusted by the negative press that has infested from this act of hate,” the statement said, adding that the party had been receiving hate mail celebrating Johnson’s shooting.

“The irony, is in the fact that the police have stated that there is no clear evidence that Sasha was the target of the attack, and that there are no credible death threats made towards her; however, how have the police come to this conclusion without being able to speak with Sasha regarding the death threats and investigate? Do the police know who the target of the attack was, in order to conclude that Sasha wasn’t? How does one manage to shoot someone in the head accidentally? Surely, to end up in hospital having sustained a bullet shot to the head, makes a death threat more credible …

“We are disgusted by the way that this narrative has been portrayed as a ‘black-on-black crime’ and a ‘gang crime’, not acknowledging that this is a hate crime or a targeted attack at worst.”

Ex. Nigerian Footballer based in Isreal, Ibezito Ogbonna, survives rocket fire from Gaza (photos)

Former Nigeria under-23 striker Ibezito Ogbonna was hospitalized after his house in Ashdod,  Israel, was hit by a rocket fired from Gaza last week.

The 38-year-old, who won the Israeli Cup with Hapoel Tel Aviv in 2006 and 2007, was at home with his wife and two young daughters when the building was hit by a rocket.

His wife and children were unharmed but Ibezito was injured.

He was in the hospital for a few hours where he was treated and had different tests done before being released.

His apartment was also destroyed and with no home to return to, Ogbonna, who has Israeli citizenship, and his family, are now staying at a hotel.

A young Nigerian who claims to be an “investment expert” has been arrested for allegedly diverting investors’ funds worth over N2 billion.

21-year-old Dominic Ngene Joshua, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Brisk Capital Limited, was arrested by the Special Fraud Unit, Lagos.

Dominic was arrested following petitions to the unit by several investors.

Joshua, who is from Ebonyi State but operates from Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, reportedly lures his victims via social media platforms and newspaper publications, by claiming to be a financial investor who manages funds for individuals and companies.

He deceived victims to invest money in Bitcoin, FOREX trading, real estate and oil and gas, with a promise of 60% Return On Investment per month on every fund invested.

However, funds belonging to over 500 investors were diverted to sponsor Joshua’s extravagant lifestyle, exotic cars, luxury watches, real estates in Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt.

According to the Special Fraud Unit (SFU), the suspect has confessed to the crime, but pleaded to be given time to return the funds.

The SFU said some of the properties and items purchased with the diverted funds have been recovered from him, and he will be charged at the Federal High Court soon.

Only months ago, Dominic Ngene Joshua, was featured in a business publication and a glowing piece was written about him. He was referred to as a “disruptor in the investment banking industry”.

Belarus Saga: European Union orders airlines to avoid flights through and from Belarus after ‘state-sponsored hijacking’

The European Union has announced it will sanction Belarus and call on its airlines to avoid it’s airspace, after a Ryanair flight from Greece to Lithuania was forced to land in the country on Sunday May 23, and a political activist/dissident journalist on board was arrested.


Ryanair (RYAAY) flight 4978 was ordered to divert to Minsk by Belarusian air traffic control on Sunday over a supposed security alert. The Ryanair flight was about to begin its descent to Vilnius in Lithuania when it suddenly changed direction, turning sharply east and descending towards the Belarusian capital.


One of the passengers on the aircraft was Belarusian journalist and opposition activist Roman Protasevich, who was arrested as soon as the plane landed, according to the Belarus Interior Ministry.

Ryanair CEO Michael O’Leary on Monday accused Belarus of “state-sponsored hijacking, state-sponsored piracy.”


European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said the bloc is “closing our airspace to planes from Belarus” and calling on EU airlines not to fly over the country.


She added that “further economic sanctions will be presented soon.”


“This is an attack on freedom of expression and this is an attack on European sovereignty,” she said in a news conference. 


“This outrageous behavior needs a strong answer, therefore the European Council decided that there will be additional sanctions on individuals that are involved in the hijacking but this time also on businesses and economic entities that are financing this [Belarusian] regime.”


The announcement comes after some international airlines announced on Monday, May 24 that they would avoid flying over Belarus following the incident.

Germany’s Lufthansa (DLAKY) said:. “Due to the current dynamic situation, we are suspending the operation in Belarusian airspace for the time being,” a company spokesperson told CNN Business.


Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) said in a statement on Monday that it will reroute its twice weekly flights between Oslo and Kiev, the capitals of Norway and Ukraine, in line with instructions from the Swedish Transport Agency.


“Safety is always our highest priority. We follow the development closely and are in close contact with Scandinavian and European aviation authorities and follow their instructions,” SAS added.


Earlier on Monday, Latvia’s carrier AirBaltic said it had “decided to avoid entering Belarus airspace until the situation becomes clearer or a decision is issued by the authorities.”


Cyprus’ Avia Solutions Group also said its airlines based in the Baltic region will not be using Belarusian airspace and Hungarian carrier Wizz Air (WZZAF) said it had rerouted a flight between Ukraine and Estonia on Monday, adding in a statement: “We are continuously monitoring and evaluating the situation.”


UK Transport Secretary Grant Shapps said on Twitter that he has instructed the UK Civil Aviation Authority to request airlines “avoid Belarusian airspace in order to keep passengers safe.” 


He also added that he has also suspended Belarus’ flag carrier Belavia’s operating permit.

US Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg said Monday that the US government was assessing whether American airlines were safe flying over Belarus airspace. “We, both in terms of the international bodies we’re part of and as an administration with the FAA [Federal Aviation Administration] are looking at that,”

Robert Mugabe’s remains to be exhumed and reburied at heroes’ shrine – Traditional chief orders

A chief in Zimbabwe has ordered the exhumation and reburial of Robert Mugabe’s remains at the national heroes’ shrine in Harare after accusing the late leader’s wife of breaking local custom by burying him at his rural home in 2019.


Mugabe, who was ousted in a coup that brought Emmerson Mnangagwa to power in November 2017, was buried at his village of Kutama after weeks of dispute with Mnangagwa’s government over the place where he’ll be buried.

A traditional chief in Zvimba district, which includes Kutama, said he had received a complaint from a Mugabe clan member over the manner of his burial.


After presiding over a village court last Thursday, Chief Zvimba, issued a ruling that found  Mugabe’s wife, Grace, guilty of breaking traditional norms by burying her husband in the courtyard of his home.


Grace who did not attend the hearing, was fined five cows and a goat.


On Monday, May 24, the chief ruled that Mugabe’s body be exhumed and reburied at the National Heroes Acre in Harare.


“I give powers to those who are permitted by law to exhume the late Robert Mugabe’s remains from Kutama and rebury them at the National Heroes Acre in Harare,” said a copy of the ruling in the local Shona language.


Leo Mugabe, spokesman for the Mugabe family rejected the ruling.


“He (chief) has no jurisdiction over Kutama. And even if the correct chief had made that ruling we would have appealed to the court,” Leo Mugabe told Reuters.


Accordding to traditional law , fhiefs in Zimbabwe have jurisdiction over their local subjects but it is rare for them to order families to exhume bodies for reburial.


President Mnangagwa had pushed for Mugabe to be buried at the monument for liberation war heroes, but the family refused, saying before his death, Mugabe had expressed fears to close family members that some of the people who ousted him would seek to conduct traditional rituals with some of his body parts.

Sasha Johnson, UK Black Lives Matter activist, is battling for her life after being shot in the head in the UK

Sasha Johnson, a prominent British Black Lives Matter activist is in critical condition in hospital after being shot in the head in London, her political party says.

The 27-year-old is in intensive care after being “brutally attacked and sustained a gunshot wound to her head” in the early hours of Sunday, May 23, according to Taking The Initiative party.

In a statement on the group’s Facebook page, the party said that the incident happened in the early hours of Sunday and followed “numerous death threats”.

The statement said: “It is with great sadness that we inform you that our own Sasha Johnson has sustained a gunshot wound to her head. She is currently hospitalised and in critical condition. The incident happened in the early hours of this morning, following numerous death threats.

“Sasha has always been actively fighting for black people and the injustices that surround the black community, as well as being both a member of BLM and a member of Taking the Initiative Party’s Executive Leadership Committee. Sasha is also a mother of 3 and a strong, powerful voice for our people and our community.”

Johnson was a prominent member of TTIP, which has been described as “Britain’s first Black-led political party”. She rose to prominence after last year’s BLM protests spread around the country.

The mother of three also worked in activism and community support and achieved a first-class degree in social care at Oxford Brookes University.

London’s Metropolitan Police released a statement saying the shooting occurred near a house in Southwark, in the city’s south-east, where a party was taking place.

The police said the force’s Specialist Crime Command was investigating the incident and that early information showed the shooting to be random.

“While the investigation is at an early stage, there is nothing to suggest that the woman who was shot was the subject of a targeted attack or that she had received any credible threats against her prior to this incident,” the statement said.

Detective Chief Inspector Jimi Tele asked people not to speculate about the motive behind the incident.

“This was a shocking incident that has left a young woman with very serious injuries. Our thoughts are with her family who are being provided with support at this terribly difficult time.

“A dedicated team of detectives is working tirelessly to identify the person or persons responsible for this shooting. They are making good progress but they need the public’s help.” he said

BLM UK tweeted in solidarity with the activist yesterday and said they would be holding a vigil outside the hospital in south London on Monday at 3pm.

The former Tottenham midfielder, who joined in 2012, has enjoyed a successful nine seasons in the Spanish capital, winning 12 major honours for Los Blancos including four Champions Leagues.

The Croatia International, 35, has played 48 times for Zinedine Zidane’s side this season and featured in all four of Real’s Champions League quarter-final and semi-final ties against Liverpool and Chelsea.

The club confirmed the news in an official statement on Tuesday May 25, which read: “Real Madrid CF and Luka Modri? have agreed to extend the player’s contract, which remains with the club until June 30, 2022.”

He said: “I’m 35 but I feel like I’m only 27. I feel great.”

“You shouldn’t look at the age, it’s all about how we perform on the pitch, regardless of age. I’m still hungry for more, to continue playing at the highest level and I feel great.”

TikTok boss, Zhang Yiming, 38, resigns with over $44B to spend

One of the billionaire co-founders of TikTok is stepping down as CEO of ByteDance, the Chinese company that owns TikTok.

Zhang Yiming, 38, said Thursday, May 20, that he will leave the role because he lacks managerial skills. He added that he preferred “reading and daydreaming” to running the tech giant.

According to Bloomberg, he resigns with a net worth of $44.5billion, making him 31st on a list of the world’s richest people.

On Monday, May 24, Zhang announced his resignation in an official letter to his employees. he reiterated that he lacked some skills that’d make him an ideal manager.

“The truth is, I lack some of the skills that make an ideal manager. Similarly, I’m not very social, preferring solitary activities like being online, reading, listening to music, and daydreaming about what may be possible,” he said.

Zhang Yiming will step down at the end of the year to focus on long-term strategy.

NYSC may be scraped soon as bill reaches second reading

A bill seeking to scrap National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme has reached its second reading in the House of Representatives. 

The bill titled Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Alteration Bill, 2020, is sponsored by a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lawmaker from Rivers state, Awaji-Inombek Abiante.

In the explanatory memorandum of the proposal, Abiante listed the various reasons why the NYSC should be scrapped. He maintained that the NYSC has failed to address the essence of its establishment, while several reform efforts have also not yielded desired results.

He said; 

“For children of the rich, how many of them would want to go to Sokoto or Yobe? It is still the children of the poor that are sent to those places (where) they are butchered. 

“Incessant killing of innocent corps members in some parts of the country due to banditry, religious extremism and ethnic violence; incessant kidnapping of innocent corps members across the country at their places of primary assignment and in transit.

“Public and private agencies and departments are no longer recruiting able and qualified Nigerian youths, thus relying heavily on the availability of corps members who are not being well remunerated and get discarded with impunity at the end of their service year without any hope of being gainfully employed.”

Governor Ortom orders Benue residents to defend themselves with guns and weapons not prohibited by law

Governor Samuel Ortom has told residents of Benue state to defend themselves with dane guns and other weapons not prohibited by the law, when attacked by gunmen. 

Ortom gave the directive at an inter-denominational church service held at the government house in Makurdi, Benue capital on Sunday May 23. 

He further disclosed that the licence to own a dane gun could be obtained at local government secretariats in the state.

The Governor said; 

“I will no longer announce the deaths of those killed by Fulani herdsmen, rise up and defend yourselves with weapons not prohibited by law, bows and arrows, spears and knives. 

“Get a licence for dane guns from local government chairmen and use them to defend yourselves.

“God assured me some time back that as long as I lived within the circle of his presence, no weapon fashioned against me shall prosper.”

PSG boss, Mauricio Pochettino could make a stunning return to Tottenham, according to a new report.

The Argentine was sacked by Spurs in November 2019 after the team’s dramatic decline following their Champions League final defeat by Liverpool, with chairman Daniel Levy forced to swing the axe after a string of miserable results. 

Jose Mourinho replaced him but failed to deliver on the promise of silverware as players and fans quickly grew tired of his negative approach – with Spurs slipping away from the top four and failing to qualify for European football.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is considering trying to persuade their ex-boss to leave Paris Saint-Germain and he has revealed to his close associates that sacking Pochettino is the greatest mistake he’s made in his career.

Reports by SunSport say that Pochettino is seriously considering a switch back to the club as he is unhappy in Paris and would love a second chance at White Hart Lane.


Pochettino, who failed to land the Ligue 1 title for PSG and lost in the Champions League semi-finals to Manchester City, is struggling at PSG where he starred as a player.

The former Southampton boss feels he has unfinished business at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and a return would be incredibly popular among the fans.

At Spurs, he transformed an underachieving side into title contenders and regulars in the top four, forging a close relationship with supporters. 

He has already told close friends he would be prepared to rejoin Spurs, the report continues, with Levy now looking to find a way to bring him back.

Levy – who built up a close relationship with the 49-year-old during their five-and-a-half years together in N17 – has secretly admitted that sacking Pochettino was ‘the worst mistake of his career’, the Sun claims. 

The move could be Tottenham’s ‘ace card’ to keep Harry Kane it says, with the striker already informing the club of his desire to be sold this summer. Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea are believed to be among the interested parties for the £150million-rated star.

Since Mourinho’s sacking, Ryan Mason has taken charge on an interim basis – overseeing four wins and three defeats during his stint in charge, including a Carabao Cup final loss to Manchester City.

The team finished seventh under his leadership – meaning they will play in the UEFA Conference League next season.

The prize money all clubs in the premier league got in the 2020-2021 season has been revealed.


Manchester City clinched this season’s Premier League title, with weeks to spare.

But despite their success this season, it has been revealed their prize money actually went down this year compared to what Liverpool got last year for winning the premier league.


According to The Times, City netted £163million for their efforts this campaign- made up of their £123m ‘equal share’ payment  given to every club in this season’s Premier League -and then a further £40m for winning the title.


Runners-up Manchester United pocketed £38m, meaning their overall total was £161m.


However, last season’s champions Liverpool received £177m for winning the 2019-20 title – £14m more than City earned this year.


And even City themselves were awarded more last year despite only coming second, pocketing £175m in 2019-20.


Last season there was a £79m gap between the £177m handed to champions Liverpool and bottom-placed Norwich’s £98m.


This year, that gap reduced to £38m, with bottom side Sheffield United earning £125m compared to City’s £163m.

French fashion tycoon, Bernard Arnault is now the world’s richest man after his net worth climbed to $186.3billion.

The chief executive of Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton (LVMH) saw his luxury goods firm stock increase by 0.4 per cent during the first hours of trading on Monday, May 24.

The rise pushed Arnault’s personal stake up by more than $600million and placed LVMH’s market cap at $320billion, according to Forbes.

Arnault’s overall net worth jumped to $186.3billion, edging past Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, who is worth $186billion, by ‘only’ $300million in the world’s rich list.

It comes just days after Arnault pushed Elon Musk, worth $147.3billion, out of his spot as the world’s second-richest man afterTesla’s share price sank.

Musk dropped out of his spot as the world’s second-richest man after his fortune sank by $3.16billion last week, to $160.6billion.

Arnault, 72, has seen his fortune jump more than $110million in the past 14 months thanks to his French luxury goods firm LVMH, which owns the likes of Louis Vuitton, Fendi, Christian Dior, and Givenchy in its portfolio of 70+ luxury brands.

Cristiano Ronaldo has fuelled speculations regarding his Juventus career by issuing a lengthy cryptic post on social media. 


This comes weeks after the 36-year-old striker had each of his luxury supercars transported to Portugal from his mansion.


The Portuguese striker, who was left out of Juve’s 4-1 win over Bologna on Sunday May 23, because he was “tired,” took to Instagram on Monday night to reflect on the club’s failed title bid as well as his personal goals, which he couldn’t achieve this season. 


In the cryptic 373-word address, Ronaldo wrote: ‘The life and career of any top player are made of ups and downs. 

‘Year after year, we face fantastic teams, with extraordinary players and ambitious goals, so we always have to give our best to keep ourselves at excellence levels.

British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson and fiance Carrie pick wedding date

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and his fiancee Carrie Symonds will be holding their wedding in July 2022. 

The Sun reported that the couple have sent save-the-date cards to family and friends for an event on Saturday July 30 of next year. 

Though the paper said details of where they will marry remained a secret, the prime minister’s Buckinghamshire residence, Chequers, is tipped to host the wedding. Another possible venue is said to be the Port Lympne safari park in Kent, as Symonds works for the conservation charity.

Johnson, 55, and Symonds, 33, were the first unmarried couple to live in Downing Street, moving there in July 2019, and he reportedly proposed on holiday on the Caribbean Island of Mustique. 

If the wedding goes on as planned, Johnson will be the second British prime minister ever to marry while in office, following Robert Jenkinson in 1822.

The couple have lately been hit by a scandal over the costly redecoration of their Downing Street flat, which is being probed over allegations that contributions by a Tory party donor were not declared fully.

Johnson has been married twice before. He had four children with his previous wife, lawyer Marina Wheeler, before they split in 2018. The couple only finalised their divorce last November. The Prime Minister also reportedly has a daughter born as the result of an affair.

Actor Bryshere Gray sentenced to jail for assaulting his wife

American actor and Empire star, Bryshere Gray, has been sentenced to 10 days in jail after pleading guilty to felony aggravated assault for choking his wife until she passed out.

Gray, 27, who played Hakeem Lyon on the Fox TV series, entered a guilty plea in his domestic violence case, according to legal documents obtained by TMZ.

Gray was arrested on domestic violence charges in July last year after a woman said her husband had assaulted her for ‘several hours’.

When cops got to their home in Goodyear, Arizona, Gray refused to come outside and barricaded himself inside the house overnight.

Police said the woman had multiple visible injuries on her body and that she said Gray strangled her at one point until she passed out. Her injuries were non-life-threatening but she was taken to the hospital where she was treated for her injuries and released, police said, adding that detectives and a Victim’s Advocate “continued to assist her after her discharge from the hospital.”

The actor has been sentenced to 10 days in a county jail and three years probation as part of his plea agreement.

He will reportedly not be allowed to consume illegal drugs and will have to submit to drugs and alcohol testing during his probation. He must also pay restitution to his victim.

Gray appeared in all 102 episodes of Empire, which wrapped its six-year run on Fox in April. His credits also include the indie features Sprinter, Canal Street and Honey: Rise Up and Dance.

Gennaro Gattuso sacked after club’s failure at the championships

Napoli coach, Gennaro Gattuso has been sacked by the club after they failed to qualify for Champions League following their fifth-place Serie A finish.

Gattuso’s side dropped out of the Champions League places on the final day of the season as they were held to a 1-1 draw at home to mid-table Hellas Verona, while Juventus cruised to a 4-1 victory to leapfrog Napoli in the Serie A table.

The result means Napoli will be playing Europa League football next season. 

Napoli chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis confirmed Gattuso’s departure on Twitter, as he posted: “Dear Rino, I am happy to have spent the last two seasons with you.

“Thanking you for the work done, I wish you success wherever you may go.

“I also send a hug to your wife and children. Aurelio De Laurentiis.”

This was then re-tweeted by Napoli’s official account with a simple statement that said: ‘Thank you, boss!’ alongside a picture of Gattuso. 

The announcement confirmed long-running media speculation that the former AC Milan manager would depart Naples when his contract expires in June.


Gattuso succeeded Carlo Ancelotti as Napoli coach in December 2019 and led them to Coppa Italia glory in June 2020.

Sir Alex Ferguson once warn player’s wives not to take their hubbies to shopping before games

Former Manchester United manager, Sir Alex Ferguson once gave the wives of his football players a team talk before a cup final to warn them not to take their hubbies shopping, it has been revealed.


Gordon Strachan, who played under the iconic manager at Aberdeen and Manchester United revealed that Ferguson told the women how to keep their men focused on their jobs ahead of the game when he was at Aberdeen.


He warned players’ wives not to give the players junk food and to make sure they weren’t dragged around shops because they had to rest before the match.


Strachan also said Ferguson would select babysitters for his first-team stars who could report back about what they were doing away from the training ground.


He said: “He used to control your life and your family life. He even had a team talk with the wives before a cup final once.


“He said ‘Do not take him shopping, he’s resting and don’t give him what he wants eating wise’. There would be all hell breaking loose now with that one, there would be all sorts of screaming and shouting.


“He just said to them ‘You have to look after the players, make sure they don’t do too much and if they are getting stressed out you have to deal with their stress’.”


Strachan, 64, said Bryan Gunn and Eric Black, who were then youth team players at Aberdeen, were chosen by Fergie, 79, to babysit his kids on a Saturday night.


He added: “He even used to control the babysitters that we used to have at Aberdeen.

“My babysitters were Eric Black and Bryan Gunn, they used to look after my kids Gavin and Craig.


“On a Monday he would get all the babysitters together and say ‘What time did Strachan come in on Saturday night? Did he have a curry?’


“He covered all things like that.


“We didn’t like it at the time but when you look back now I really did like it because it controlled my life and disciplined my life.

Fashion designer, Tinuade Soile has narrated all she overcame to welcome her first child after 9 years of waiting.

The new mum said she had to undergo 9 IVFs and suffered 3 miscarriages while trying to become a mum. She also had a fibroid surgery.

While pregnant with her son, she had to undergo a cervical stitch, which is a treatment for cervical weakness, when the cervix starts to shorten and open too early during a pregnancy causing either a late miscarriage or preterm birth.

She was also placed on 5 months of bed rest until the stitch was removed a week to the birth of her son.

On May 13, she welcomed her first child and he has been named Asher Modadeola Oluwaseun Soile.

“The Lord remembered Tinuade Soile. My God is indeed faithful, ” she wrote.

Drake shared a proud moment with his son at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards.

The 34-year-old Canadian rapper accepted the Artist of the Decade Award at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday night, and he took to the stage with his family members including his three-year-old son, Adonis, 3, who he shares with French artist and former adult film star, Sophie Brussaux.

According to a rep for the show, the people who accompanied  Drake and Adonis onstage were his father and mother Dennis and Sandi Graham; managers Future and Oliver El-Khatib; and friends/ business associates Nessell Beezer (security), Mark Robinson, Alonzo Thornhill (trainer), Christopher Gibson, Noel Casastre (recording engineer), Matte Babel, Raynford Humphrey, Travis Savoury and Nicholas Carino.

Wearing a red flannel and braids, Adonis held onto Drake’s BBMA trophy as his father, who rocked dapper off-white suit began his acceptance speech.

US considered using nuclear weapons against China to defend Taiwan in 1958, leaked documents reveals

US Military planners pushed for the White House to prepare plans to use nuclear weapons against mainland China during the Taiwan Strait crisis in 1958, newly leaked documents have confirmed.


The documents, first reported on by the New York Times, reveal how Washington went as far as discussing about using nuclear weapons to deter a Chinese invasion of Taiwan, despite knowing China will possibly fire retaliatory nuclear strikes on US bases.

The new information was provided to the Times by Daniel Ellsberg.


Ellsberg was the whistleblower in 1971 who leaked the Pentagon Papers that detailed the US government’s duplicity in its handling of the Vietnam War.


“US first use of nuclear weapons should not be contemplated, prepared, or threatened anywhere, under any circumstances, including the defense of Taiwan,” Ellsberg said in a post to his Twitter on Sunday.


The Taiwan leak comes from previously classified sections of a 1966 report by think tank organization, Rand Corporation on the 1958 Taiwan Straits crisis, written by M. H. Halperin for the Office of the then-Assistant Secretary of Defense.


After the Communist Party took power in mainland China in 1949, following a brutal civil war, the Nationalist government fled to Taiwan.


Beijing still views the island as part of its territory, and the two sides have clashed over the following decades.


During the Taiwan Strait crisis in 1958, the US and China almost clashed when the People’s Republic of China fired artillery at Taipei’s outlying islands as the US a Taiwan Ally feared China were preparing for invasion of Taiwan.

The artillery shelling by China was focused on the Quemoy and Matsu island groups, which lie between Taiwan and mainland China and are described by Rand Corporation as “the first line of defense” for Taipei.


Though the public already knows that then US President Eisenhower debated whether to use nuclear weapons to deter China from attacking Taiwan, the new leaked documents appear to reveal the extent of the planning for the first time.


According to the leaked documents, some US Defense and State department officials were concerned the loss of the outlying islands in 1958 could lead to a full “Chinese Communist takeover of Taiwan.”

In the event of an air and sea attack on the islands, US Air Force Gen. Nathan Twining said the US would have to use nuclear weapons against Chinese air force bases “to prevent a successful air interdiction campaign,” beginning with “low-yield ten to fifteen kiloton nuclear weapons.”


If this didn’t lead to a break in the assault from mainland China, “the United States would have no alternative but to conduct nuclear strikes deep into China as far north as Shanghai.”

According to the documents, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs acknowledged this would “almost certainly” lead to nuclear retaliation against Taiwan and the US military base at Okinawa in Japan.


“But he stressed that if national policy is to defend the offshore islands then the consequences had to be accepted,” the document said.


Given China had yet to develop its own nuclear capabilities as at that time, any nuclear retaliation would have come from the Soviet Union at that time, sparking another world war.


  
The document said the US Joint Chiefs, Twining in particular, saw the use of atomic weapons as “inevitable.”


In one section of the documents, Gen. Laurence S. Kuter, the top Air Force commander for the Pacific, “flatly” states that any US air action against a Chinese attack on the outlying islands “had no chance of success unless atomic weapons were used from the outset.”


In the end, Eisenhower refused to use nuclear weapons and pushed for the US troops to stick to conventional arms. 


A ceasefire was reached in the Taiwan Strait on October 6, 1958, although there have been ongoing tensions between Beijing and Taipei since then.


In January 2019 speech, Chinese President Xi Jinping warned he would take “all means necessary” and not “renounce the use of force” to rejoin Taiwan to the Chinese mainland.


Beijing claims full sovereignty over Taiwan, a democracy of almost 24 million people even though the two sides have been governed separately for more than seven decades.

Ahead of what would have been her seventh wedding anniversary with Kanye West, a source told Hollywood Life: ‘She’s still not ready to date, but she’s in a much better place than she was a year ago.’

An insider told the publication that overall ‘she’s in a good place’ and is ‘moving forward’ with her life but she is still ‘devastated’ the marriage didn’t work out.  

‘[Kim] was devastated the marriage didn’t work out. Kim has always wanted a husband and family, but she knows this is for the best for all of them and it needed to happen. She will always love Kanye and it was a very real, true love.’  

‘She’s in a good place and she’s happy. She’s letting the past go and throwing herself into work and the kids,’ the source said. 

Ahead of what would have been her 7th wedding anniversary, it was said that she’s ‘feeling fine,’ and is ‘not expecting any sort of acknowledgement from him.’ 

‘She’ll think about it but she’s not expecting any sort of acknowledgement from him, especially because they really only speak when it’s needed and it’s about the kids. She’s not necessarily unfazed, but she really is moving forward with her life.’ 

This comes after Page Six previously reported that Kim has garnered attention from ‘royal family members, A-list actors, athletes, and billionaire CEOs,’ with some trying to contact her through mutual friends or DM. 

At the time a source had said that she was ‘not looking to jump into anything’ but was ‘keeping an open mind.’ 

Kim filed to divorce Kanye West in February weeks after it reported that the marriage was over and that a split was ‘imminent.’  

The pair, who both went public with their relationship in April 2012, got married in May 2014. They share four children together, North West, 7, Saint West, 5, Chicago West, 3, and Psalm West, 20 months.

The 2020 Billboard Music Awards took place on Sunday night, May 23, at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles with 500-600 attendees following all pandemic safety protocols.

The ceremony, which celebrates chart success was hosted by Nick Jonas.

Producer DJ Khaled opened the show with singer-songwriter H.E.R. and rap group Migos, performing their collaboration We Going Crazy. 

Doja Cat and SZA were also among the early performers with their song Kiss Me More.

Canadian singer, The Weeknd led the way in nominations with 16 and won seven awards, including the top male artist. The singer also won the first award handed out on the live telecast, for top Hot 100 artist.

Drake, who holds the title for most Billboard Music Award wins of all time, received the Artist of the Decade Award. He was introduced by a group of his family and friends and came out onstage with his 3-year-old son, Adonis Graham.
