Nathalie Belizaire, 29, a Florida woman, has been accused of leaving her four children — including a 2-month-old baby and a 2-year-old — home alone while she went on a cruise to the Bahamas.
According to police documents, the children’s father became concerned after seeing a WhatsApp story that appeared to show she had bought a cruise ticket. She reportedly told him that the children would stay with their great-grandmother.
When the father went to the home on September 26, he said he could hear children inside. He called emergency services, and police and firefighters entered the apartment. The four children were reportedly found together in the bathroom, without an adult present.
Authorities later contacted the great-grandmother, who said Belizaire had told her she would bring the children to her — but never did.
Police eventually waited for the cruise ship to return on September 28 and arrested Belizaire at the port. She was accused of failing to provide the necessary care and supervision, allegedly putting the children at significant risk.
A judge set her bond at $10,000 and ordered her not to contact her children. The children were placed in the care of child protective services. Her lawyer said she denies the allegations.
