The Owner of the ‘Biggest Penis’ in the World, Speaks

The man with the “world’s biggest penis” has opened up on what it’s like to be that well endowed.

Jonah Falcon, whose penis is 13.5 inches when erect, has held the unofficial title of having the world’s biggest penis for more than two decades, since his appearance on the 1999 HBO Documentary Private Dicks: Men Exposed.

In 2003, Rolling Stone wrote an article about him titled: “Mr. Big: Jonah Falcon’s Giant Penis Problem.” He also appeared on The Daily Show, where he said the foreskin of his penis could completely envelop a doorknob.

Speaking about his male member, Falcon said he first realised how well endowed he was when some of his classmates pointed it out to him.

Falcon added that the best part of having a large penis is not having to constantly prove himself.

He said: “I don’t need a fancy car, I don’t need a gun, I happily wear a mask, and so on, because I don’t have to prove my masculinity to anyone else. I’ll wear all pink, dammit!”

He also said that, thanks to his penis, he has never worried about finding sexual partners.

He said his penis has landed him relationships with some very well-known people, but refused to drop names.

He adds that there are downsides too. Falcon says people can assume he’s a bad person, egotistical, or that he’s “a slut”. He also gets tired of people wanting to measure him.

As for being too big for a sex partner, Falcon said he’s never had to worry about that.

He said: “If your partner is excited, they can take a fire hydrant. Look, I’ve had one partner say that they’d tried getting f***ed by big c*cks, but they always hurt, but I was shockingly easy, even though I am a little thicker than my wrist.

He also shared his sex tips and advice to men who wish they had a bigger penis:

“A hot bod and a winning personality will attract far more than a large c*ck if you’re looking for sex,” he said.

He continued: “I see hot guys with ripped abs, and I feel inadequate. Otherwise, no one cares if you have a small c*ck except yourself. Don’t bring it up, and if they make comments, just show how experienced you are at using your mouth.

“Trust me. I’ve been rendered helpless by a good blowjob. The same will happen going down on a hot guy or gal.”

The bride was not with the party when the lightning struck on Wednesday, according to Sakib Al-Rabby, a local government official.

Lightning kills more than 200 people in Bangladesh, the majority being farmers in their fields, each year.

Nigerian Police and Army have killed 115 Civilians in the South-East in the last 4 months – Amnesty International Confirms

Three feared dead as IPOB and DSS clash in Enugu (graphic)

Global watchdog, Amnesty International alleged that a body-count exercise revealed that 115 civilians have been extrajudicially killed by security forces in South East, Nigeria.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, August 4, Amnesty International Nigeria added that relatives of the victims denied the deceased were part of the militants that were attacking security agents.

The report also alluded to an official headcount by the Nigerian authorities that showed that 21 police officers have been lost in four months to the insecurity in the South-East.

The report is titled ‘Nigeria: At least 115 people killed by security forces in four months in country’s Southeast.’

In the report, Amnesty International accused Nigerian security forces of committing a catalogue of rights violations, captured under international law.

The statement by AI begins: “Nigerian security forces have committed a catalogue of human rights violations and crimes under international law in their response to spiralling violence in Southeast Nigeria, carrying out a repressive campaign since January which has included sweeping mass arrests, excessive and unlawful force, and torture and other ill-treatment.”

Nigeria’s Country Director, Osai Ojigho, was also quoted as saying, “The evidence gathered by Amnesty International paints a damning picture of ruthless excessive force by Nigerian security forces in Imo, Anambra and Abia States.”

Amnesty International further claimed, “Nigeria’s government has responded with a heavy hand to killings and violence widely attributed to the armed group calling itself Eastern Security Network (ESN), the armed wing of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), a pro-Biafra movement.

“According to government officials, the ESN killed dozens of security operatives and attacked at least ten public buildings, including prisons and police stations, from January to June. In response, security forces comprising military, police, and Department of State Services (DSS) have killed dozens of gunmen, as well as civilians, where attacks have been committed.

“Eyewitnesses told Amnesty International that the security forces have engaged in excessive use of force, physical abuse, secret detentions, extortion, burning of houses, theft, and extrajudicial executions of suspects. “Human rights groups estimated that the death toll of violence between January and June 2021 in Anambra, Imo, Abia, and Ebonyi States might run into the hundreds. The police said ESN fighters killed 21 of its personnel in Imo State alone.

“Amnesty International carried out an extensive investigation to document the human rights violations and crimes under international law in Anambra, Imo, Ebonyi and Abia states from January 2021. The organization documented 52 incidents of unlawful killings and 62 cases of arbitrary arrest, ill-treatment and torture.

“Media reports, video and audio recordings reviewed show that the Nigerian security forces also employed excessive force and other unlawful means to address the rising violence.

The statement continued: “From January 2021, gunmen suspected to be ESN militants launched a series of attacks on government infrastructure, including prisons and public buildings, killing several police officers. Amnesty International condemned these attacks and called on authorities to bring the perpetrators to justice.

“Nigerian security forces launched security operations in June, primarily targeting ESN militants or those perceived as such to decimate the group. Amnesty International documented at least 115 persons killed by security forces between March and June 2021.

“Many relatives of the victims told Amnesty International that they were not part of the militants that were attacking security agents. Many of the victims were deposited at government hospitals in Imo and Abia state. According to several hospital sources, all the victims deposited by the police had bullet injuries.

Giving examples of victims of the extrajudicial killing, AI said: “For instance, in two of the cases documented by Amnesty International, the victims were targeted with no apparent justification: Uguchi Unachukwu, a Germany-based businessman was killed by soldiers on 31 May at a checkpoint near Owerri airport on his way out of the country. The police are yet to investigate the crime.

“Mathew Opara, a 45-year-old businessman, was shot by soldiers on 25 May 2021 in Orji, near Owerri. Witnesses told Amnesty International that he was returning from work when he ran into a team of soldiers in an armoured vehicle and Hilux vans shooting at residents. He was shot in the chest and could not receive immediate medical help because of the violence. His family said the military acknowledged the killing but did not launch an investigation or offer any apology.”

Amnesty International (AI) also interviewed victims of arbitrary arrests and torture and noted their findings in the statement.

AI said: “In May 2021, the Imo state government announced the arrest of at least 400 people allegedly linked to the violence. Amnesty International’s investigation indicates that most of them were randomly picked up in their homes and off the street and had nothing to do with ESN. Some victims told Amnesty International that they were arrested while walking in the street, at a public bar or simply for having birthmarks or tattoos on their bodies.

“A 37-year-old man who was arrested by the police at Orji, in Imo state, on 26 May 2021 told Amnesty International that he was arrested because his colleague had a birthmark on his shoulder. The police said the mark was a sign of membership of IPOB.”

According to Amnesty International, the victim said, “The police arrested us on the road. They asked us to lie down on the road. They checked our clothes to see if we have tattoos. I had none but one of us had a birthmark. He tried to explain but the policemen started beating him. They tied our hands backwards and took us in their van to the police station.

Another 36-year-old man reportedly told Amnesty International: “I was arrested on my way back from work. The policemen put me in a bus along with other young men including several students and an NYSC member in his uniform.

“They labelled us ESN members and took us to their station at the Fire Service. We were severely beaten. They said they will waste [kill] all of us. I told them that I work for the state government. I was asked to pay N20,000. I negotiated and finally paid N15,000. They allowed me to go at about 10.30 pm. I do not know what happened to the other people.”

Mum found love with her son’s 16-year-old best friend and now married for 12 years

A 60 year old woman has come out to reveal her love story with her son’s best friend who she started a relationship with when he was 16. The pair later got married and have been together for 12 years.

Marilyn Buttigieg, 60, from Crawley, West Sussex, met her now-husband, William Smith, 31, when her son brought him over after school in June 2006.

William was 16 at the time and her son’s best friend, and he would regularly be playing video games in their sitting room.

Marilyn and William ‘naturally gravitated towards each other’ according to Marilyn and they started a relationship, before getting married in April 2009.

After first meeting, William started helping Marilyn around the house as she was suffering from ME – a long term illness causing extreme tiredness and muscle pain.

Before long, their friendship became romantic, but they were both hesitant because of fear that thier family members would mock them.

They both have now lost most of their friends and family, but the adamant love-struck couple say they ‘would do it all again’ as their love is for real.

Mum fell in love with her son?s 16-year-old best friend and they have now been married for 12 years

Marilyn, who owns a cleaning business, said to Metro UK: ‘William and I are still so in love. We’re never apart and if we are we miss each other so much. He’s my soulmate.

‘We have suffered a lot of hate over the years and I’ve been called a paedo but we’ve always had each other.

‘We’ve stayed true to ourselves and our feelings and that is what matters.’

William, a film producer, said: ‘I knew we had something special. She was and still is my dream woman.’

Mum-of-seven Marilyn said;

‘I didn’t want to take away William’s life,’

‘I didn’t want to have any more kids, but I didn’t want to stop William having a family if he wanted.

‘My family had also already judged us for being friends and thought we were something more before we were – just because William helped me out.

‘I think that made us gravitate towards each other, to be honest.’

William says that he was the one who ‘convinced’ Marilyn to begin the relationship:

‘She quizzed me to make sure I was sure this was what I wanted. I was 100% sure it was.’

“After a while they started living together.

Marilyn says all but one of her children ‘disowned her’, but the couple stuck by each other and fell head over heels in love.

William has also since been disowned by his family.

Mum fell in love with her son?s 16-year-old best friend and they have now been married for 12 years

In February 2009 William proposed and the couple got married soon after in April that year. They had a honeymoon in Gibraltar where Marilyn is originally from.

‘We’ve struggled a lot with hate over the years,’ William said.

‘And lost our families too, but we are now family.

‘People hurl us abuse and it’s affected my jobs in the past, but it is getting better now.’

‘I’ve been called a paedo more times than I could remember,’ Marilyn added.

‘We’ve been to hell and back and even now we get nails in our tyres. People just can’t just leave us alone.’

Marilyn now says she’s stopped worrying about what people think, not shying away from kissing while out and saying ‘let them stare if they want to’.

The pair sat they are now raising money to make a film about their story.

‘We want to tell our story our way,’ William said.

‘And to change the judgement surrounding an age gap relationship.’

Marilyn added: ‘I think people’s perceptions still need to change. I couldn’t imagine anyone else loving me more than William does.

According to the Customs CG, NCS’s extensive collaboration yielded credible intelligence that triggered swift and comprehensive actions by the Customs Intelligence Unit and Headquarters Strike force.

“The ever increasing and relevant functions of the global Customs community demonstrate the necessity of Customs actions to raise revenue, suppress smuggling and intercept illegal movement of items that can compromise national security, economy, health and environmental protection,” Ali stated

“Deforestation and depletion of wildlife especially the endangered species have been global concern with nations collaborating, sharing intelligence and expertise that will stamp out indiscriminate killing of endangered species.

“In line with global best practices, NCS has been in robust collaboration with embassies of US, UK and Germany with other credible international bodies already indicating interest to join our quarterly meetings that provide platform for shared experiences.

“I am therefore happy to announce that our extensive collaboration yielded credible intelligence that triggered swift and comprehensive actions by the Customs Intelligence Unit and the Headquarters Strikeforce. “The suspects arrested will soon have their date in court as NCS will leave no stone unturned to bring them to justice. We will extend same treatment to any person or organization remotely connected to this or any illegal wildlife trade.”

Pep Guardiola Praises British-Nigerian Footballer, Samuel Edozie after His Third Goal in Three Games

Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola has praised young British-Nigerian winger Sam Edozie after the teenager scored three goals in three games during pre-season friendlies .

Born in England to Nigerian parents, the 18 year old has been a key figure in the club’s U23 ranks since moving from Millwall on July 1, 2020.Presently, he is part of Guardiola’s squad preparing for the new campaign and has stepped up to the demands of senior football scoring in each of the club’s last three matches.

Edozie has made the most of the chances he’s been given after replacing Phil Foden and Raheem Sterling, who are still not back from their breaks.

Edozie arrived from Millwall for an initial £400,000 last year, and was in the right place at the right time to score the early opener as City beat Blackpool 4-1 on Tuesday night this week.

Edozie also scored against Preston and Barnsley in the last week, giving him a three-goal pre-season haul that only Riyad Mahrez can match.

City boss Guardiola now says the youngster has plenty of promise.

“Like all of them, as a young talent having a special quality, a guy who gets to the box with the intention to score the goal is important for wingers,” he said.

“He’s an incredible young player, good pace. Be patient with him. With minutes they play good and this is important.

The will face Leicester at Wembley in the Community Shield on Saturday, and Edozie has a chance of making the squad, with Guardiola saying last week he would be relying on ‘second team’ players.

Court Dissolves Marriage as Wife of 30 years Denied her Husband S3x for 4 Years

A Customary Court in Igando, Lagos on Wednesday, August 4, granted the request of Mr Eric Frank to end his 30-year-old marriage to mother of four, Ibeawuchi, after she denied him sex for four years.

Frank, 56, had approached the court to terminate his marriage claiming his wife denied him sex for four years.

“My wife denies me my matrimonial rights. She also threatened to kill me so that she can inherit my property.

“My wife collected N420,000 from my tenant without my  consent and never gave account of the money.

”She is also a drunk and fetish,” he said.

Responding to the allegations, Ibeawuchi, 45, said;

“He is the  fetish one. He brings different prophets to the house and also buries all sorts of things on the ground,” she said.

The mother of four said she used the N420,000 she collected from one of their tenants to renovate the house.

She said she never threatened to kill her husband and begged the court not to grant her husband’s wish for divorce because she loved him

Delivering Judgment,  Mr Adeniyi Koledoye, President of the Court, said that since Frank, insists on divorce after several interventions, the court is left with no option other than to grant him his wish.

“The court hereby pronounces the marriage between Mr Eric and Ibeawuchi Frank dissolved today.

“Both of you henceforth cease to be husband and wife.

“Each of you should go on his or her separate ways unmolested. The court wishes both of you well in your future endeavours.”

The judge ordered Frank to pay N150,000 as severance fee to his wife and also pay N200,000 for her to get a new accommodation then gave custody of the children to Frank.

‘I’m a Legitimate Businessman, not a Kidnapper’, – Evans tells Court

All the defendants who were first arraigned on August 30, 2017, on two counts of conspiracy and kidnapping, have maintained their innocence.

After being led in by his defense counsel Victor Okpara on Tuesday August 3, Evans denied all allegations of kidnapping levelled against him by the Lagos State Government, insisting he was a legitimate businessman.

Claiming that he was coerced into admitting being a kidnapper after the police in a bid to make him confess, extra-judicially killed four individuals in his presence, the alleged kidnapper also denied having “Evans” as his nickname.

He said;

“I live at Fred Shoboyede Street, Magodo Phase II, Lagos. I am a businessman and I deal in ornaments and Horlicks.

“My lord, my name is not Evans and I don’t have a nickname.

Ifeanyi and Aduba, two former soldiers of the Nigerian Army who also testified on Tuesday, denied being accomplices to the crime.

Aduba recounted refusing to sign a written statement admitting to the crime after allegedly being ordered to do so by one Idowu Haruna, said to be a member of the police intelligence response team (IRT). He also showed the court an injury on his body, claiming he was taken to a “theatre” where he was beaten and cut with a machete by Haruna.

Aduba also recalled how three men; Felix Chinemeren, Paul Samyan and Chukwuma Nwosu who were initially paraded before the media as kidnappers, were killed by members of the IRT.

He said;

“I was still being told to sign some papers but I refused and I said if I refuse I will travel (slang for killed). At that point, Idowu Haruna brought out his phone for me to look at some pictures.

“When I looked at it, I discovered it was the dead bodies of the three men with whom I was in custody. That was how I was forced to sign the papers.”

As the defence team of Chukwudimeme Onwuamadike a.k.a Evans and that of his five co-defendants closed their case before the Ikeja high court, Justice Hakeem Oshodi gave the defence 30 days to file their final written addresses.

The prosecution was given another 30 days to respond to the final written addresses of the defence.

The case was then adjourned till November 5 for adoption of the final written addresses.

India: Nigerian man arrested in India for Defrauding People on Social Media

A Nigerian man has been arrested by police in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh for allegedly defrauding several people after befriending them on social media platforms.

The 32-year-old accused identified as Okuwarima Moses, was arrested from Noida, on Monday, August 2.

Sub-inspector Santosh Pandey from Nawabganj police station said two mobile phones, a laptop and passport were recovered from him.

With the arrest of the Nigerian national, the police claimed to have busted a gang which allegedly cheated people of their money on the pretext of customs duty on expensive gifts from overseas.

Police said the accused operated by making friends on social media, and promising to send them expensive gifts.

Later, another gang member, posing as a customs officer, would call up the unsuspecting victims, asking them to pay customs duty on the gifts being sent to them.

After collecting the money, the accused would block the phone numbers of the victims and go untraceable, police said.

“We suspected that the gang was of three members. However, it had about ten persons.” Kanpur DCP Salmantaz Jaftertaj Patil, added.

Dr. Dre’s Eldest Daughter, LaTanya Young, 38, Says She is Homeless and Living in Her Car (photos)

Dr. Dre’s estranged daughter has revealed she is homeless and has been living out of her car, amid claims she hasn’t received a dime from her wealthy father in 18 months.

This comes after the hip hop mogul was ordered to pay his ex-wife Nicole Young $300,000 a month in spousal support.

LaTanya Young, 38, works as a delivery driver for DoorDash and Uber Eats and as an assembler at a warehouse but claims that she can’t afford to secure an apartment in Victorville, California, and is living in a rental vehicle.

LaTanya is Dr. Dre’s daughter by Lisa Johnson, 53. The couple split when LaTanya was five years old.

The single mother-of-four told DailyMail.com that she has repeatedly asked her producer dad, who is said to be worth $800million, for financial help but she has not received a dime in 18 months.

LaTanya claimed that she’s not seen her famous father for 18 years and doesn’t even have his cell phone number.  But she admitted that she has to communicate with him through his team.

LaTayna, mom of Tatiyana, 16, Rhiana, 13, D’Andre, eight, who is named after his grandfather, and Jason III, three, said: ‘I’ve been working in a warehouse and doing Uber Eats and DoorDash.

‘My kids are staying with friends – they are not living in the car, it’s just me,’ she told DailyMail.com.

‘I’m taking odd jobs just to make it now – I got paid $15 an hour as an assembler at the warehouse.

‘I’m trying to keep my head above water. I’ve been in debt for a while.’

LaTanya said she now fears she will lose her rental car as she has not been able to make payments.

Dre Daughter

‘The car is a pretty penny,’ she said. ‘It’s an SUV that costs $2,300 for three weeks and I only paid for one week.

‘Sooner or later they are going to take the car.’

LaTanya moved with her kids from Nevada to California a month ago in the hope that she would earn better money after her work dried up.

‘The wage is higher in California – there was no work in Nevada. There weren’t enough jobs.

‘I have friends and family that will let us come back and forth but the majority of the time I’m living out of my car,’ she added.

LaTanya has been asking Dr. Dre’s lawyer for help but he has told her that since she has spoken about her father to the press in the past, he will not give her any money.

She added that it pains her that her children have never met their famous grandfather.I’m homeless and I’ve been reaching out to my dad for help.

‘His lawyer has said that my dad doesn’t want to help me because I’ve spoken about him in the press.

‘I feel like I’m damned if I do, I’m damned if I don’t.

‘I’m just trying to communicate with him and see if he wants to talk to his grandkids.

‘My kids are old enough to know who he is. They are in shock that he doesn’t want anything to do with them.’

When Dr. Dre was rushed to hospital with a brain aneurysm in January, LaTanya found it difficult to even know if her father was in a stable condition.

‘It was like pulling teeth just to know if he was alright in the hospital,’ she said.

She admitted that he has in the past helped her, by paying her rent and giving her an allowance, but that help ended in January 2020.

‘People label me as a millionaire’s daughter so they don’t understand why I’m working. It makes me want to crawl under a rock.

‘He used to help with our rent and gave an allowance but he told us he wouldn’t do anything anymore. I’m out on the streets.

‘I asked him for help and I haven’t got a response back from his lawyer.
‘I’m hearing about mistresses that he’s bought houses for. It’s a messy situation.’

She added that it hurt her to hear of the generous financial settlement a divorce judge ordered Dre to pay Nicole, his wife of 24 years, earlier this month.

‘I just heard that he has to pay $300k a month for spousal support – it’s embarrassing because people are looking at me wondering: why?

‘What Nicole has got is what my mom should have got.

‘I honestly wrote a proposal and asked him if he could get a home for me and my sister and my kids.

‘He was supposed to put us through college and pay for our health insurance and he never did that.’

‘My mom felt like he never upheld his end of the bargain.I commend Nicole in a way – she did what she had to do.’

Woman with Terminal Disease Begs the UK Government to Allow Her to Die

A former nurse, Alison Pickard, has revealed she would like to be able to take her life when she wants it due to the fact she suffers from a Motor Neurone disease.

Assisted dying also known as physician-assisted suicide, is suicide that is assisted by a physician or other healthcare provider – and is illegal in England and Wales with a jail term of up to 14 years.

According to Pickard, if advances in medical science can make people decide to prolong their death, people should not also be limited when it comes to deciding to take their lives especially when the person suffers with a degenerative disease like she does.

According to her “I cannot change the final destination, but to influence the journey would provide greater reassurance and peace of mind to me and my family.

She has now written an open letter to the government, asking the government to think about people like her and reverse the controversial law.

1 7

Read her letter to the government as published by Metro UK.

“Today marks 60 years since the introduction of the ban on assisted dying in England and Wales.

It still remains a crime punishable by up to 14 years in prison.

In the past six decades, medical advances have come on leaps and bounds, and as someone living with a terminal illness – motor neurone disease (MND) – I am enormously grateful for them. They have enabled people in my position to live longer and better lives, and it is even possible to live as a ‘human cyborg’ like the scientist Peter Scott-Morgan – also diagnosed with MND.

He has recently spoken publicly about how he has outlived his original prognosis and achieved what he feels is an excellent quality of life through cutting-edge technology and pioneering treatments. The key aim for him is to stave off death for as long as possible.

We can now effectively ‘hack’ life. But what about death? After 60 years of the assisted dying ban, is it not time we found a better way to die that is fit for the 21st century?

While I commend Scott-Morgan’s optimism and respect his personal choices, I do not relate to his experience. He opposes a change in the law to enable assisted dying as a choice for terminally ill people in their final months, whereas I feel this is urgently necessary, as do seven in 10 people with advanced or terminal illness.

I was a nurse for 42 years and have lived with MND for almost a decade. I have always understood death as a natural fact of life, but have lately come to accept that it will come sooner for me than I’d hoped.

Coming to terms with this fact, with the support of my medical team, local hospice and loved ones, has been an incredibly difficult but ultimately positive process.

I cannot change the final destination, but to influence the journey would provide greater reassurance and peace of mind to me and my family. I want control over how, when and where I die, just as Scott-Morgan is able to control so much of how he lives his life.

That is why I wholeheartedly back the Assisted Dying Bill introduced by Baroness Meacher, Chair of Dignity in Dying, and call on Peers to speak in its favour when it reaches Second Reading in the House of Lords this autumn.

Facing the end and desiring greater control over it does not mean giving up hope, unless you subscribe to the narrow definition Scott-Morgan lives by. He is, by his own admission, exceptional. And yet he seeks to present a universal approach to coping with terminal illness, which seems to be rooted in the idea that death is somehow a failure.

For me, and for many terminally ill people, this limited view of hope can be suffocating. It stops our doctors having honest conversations with us about when and how we might die. It prevents loved ones from coming to terms with our imminent and inevitable deaths.

It pressures us to present ourselves to the world as happy warriors, waging war against our illnesses and battling bravely on through gruelling treatments, which often merely prolong the dying process.

My definition of hope is somewhat more complex, but no less valid. I hope not for a cure or for eternal life, but for a good life and a good death when the time feels right for me.

Knowing that I could decide when my suffering has become unbearable and receive support from trusted doctors to die peacefully in my own bed, having said goodbye to my husband, children and grandchildren would enable me to live better in the present, free from fear and anxiety.

As a nurse, and later as a patient, I have seen the wonders of palliative care and I am most grateful for it – but I have also seen its limits. A death from MND often involves paralysis, choking, oxygen starvation; suffering that cannot always be relieved.

Refusing or removing a ventilator is a legal choice that can enable people to hasten their deaths, but it does not guarantee a peaceful end. I for one do not relish the thought of being sedated while I suffocate.

Other terminally ill people have no such option and are forced to contemplate starvation, suicide, or Switzerland if they are to wrest back some control over their death. Is this really the best we can do for our dying citizens in 2021

Zimbabwe Govt. Denies Plans to Export Live Elephants to Other Countries

Zimbabwe, known for its exotic wildlife and animal reserves has denied reports that it plans to be exporting live elephants to other countries for money.

Experts believe Zimbabwe and neighbouring Botswana could be home to about half of Africa’s 400,000 elephants.

According to Zimbabwe’s wildlife authority, doing so will be going against the advice of conservation groups.

Releasing a statement on Wednesday, August 4, the Wildlife authority said that allegations by some NGOs that the process of capturing the animals had begun
were “speculative and baseless”.

“Zimbabwe is not considering any live African elephant exports and the country has not processed any export trade permits since 2019,” the Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority (Zimparks) said.

Its spokesman Tinashe Farawo said they were not planning to capture elephants “now or in the near future” – noting that the authority was recently collaring the animals to monitor their movements.

According to Tinashe, human-elephant conflicts had claimed dozens of lives and that Zimparks was exploring new ways to end the problem.

Malaysia: Nigerian man Sentenced to Death for Killing a Malaysian Nurse

A 38-year-old Nigerian national, Alowonle Oluwajuwon Gilbert was sentenced to death by the High Court in Shah Alam, Malaysia, for the murder of Serdang Hospital nurse Siti Kharina Mohd Kamarudin, two years ago.

Judge Ab Karim Ab Rahman handed down the sentence to Oluwajuwon, on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, after the prosecution had proven its case against the accused beyond all reasonable doubt.

1 6

However, he allowed a stay of the sentence pending an appeal to the Court of Appeal. Upon hearing the verdict, Gilbert who was standing inside the dock looked down and burst into tears.

When reading out the sentence, Ab Karim said Gilbert’s defence was a mere denial and an afterthought.

The judge said the testimony by the accused that he left the house of Siti Khairina Mohd Kamarudin, 40, on May 8, 2019, contradicted with footage of a closed-circuit television camera at the Third Avenue Condominium, Cyberjaya, which showed him leaving the premises the following day (May 9)

“The accused said he was not with the deceased after 8pm on May 8 until the next morning. He said he left he condominium unit at 8pm on that day. The court finds that the accused’s testimony is a mere denial and an afterthought as it is inconsistent with the CCTV recording,” he said.

Ab Karim said the accused also could not provide an explanation why there were blood stains carrying the DNA of Siti Kharina on his shirt on the morning of May 9, 2019.

The judge added that the defence had never disputed the accused’s clothing during trial.

The prosecution was conducted by deputy public prosecutor Tengku Intan Suraya Tengku Ismail, while Gilbert was represented by lawyer Shafinah Taib.

Gilbert was first brought to court on May 27, 2019, and charged with the murder of Siti Kharina at a condominium unit at Third Avenue Condominium in Cyberjaya between 12.41am on May 9 and 2.30pm on May 15, that year.

Siti Kharina, a mother of three was reported to have gone missing on May 8, 2019, after she was last seen at the Serdang Hospital parking lot at 4pm, that day.

The head nurse was later found dead with slash wounds to her chest, neck and head at the condominium unit on May 15, the same year.

The victim was believed to have died between four and five days before her body was discovered.

Soufiane El Bakkali Breaks the Kenyans’ 37-Years Dominance in the Olympic men’s 3,000 Metres Steeplechase

Soufiane El Bakkali of Morocco has won gold in the Olympic men’s 3,000 metres steeplechase, ending Kenya’s 37-Year reign of dominance.

The 25-year-old El Bakkali, who came in fourth in the 2016 Olympics and bronze medallist in the 2019 world championships, finished in a time of 8:08.90.

Lamecha Girma of Ethiopia claimed silver, clocking 8:10.38, and Benjamin Kigen of Kenya took the bronze in 8:11.45.

Soufiane El Bakkali becomes the first non-Kenyan man to win the Olympic 3,000m steeplechase as a Moroccan ends their 37-Year reign of dominance

Conseslus Kipruto of Kenya, the 2016 Olympic champion, failed to qualify for the Games, ruling off the East African nation’s chance of claiming their 10th straight Olympic steeplechase gold since 1984.

‘It was not easy for me to be in front of the Kenyans and Ethiopians. I know how hard it is to be first in front of them,’ El Bakkali told reporters.

‘I am so used to seeing Kenyans win, it’s a big accomplishment for me,’ he said later. ‘I have been aiming for this for years and this was my opportunity to show that Morocco is capable of winning this prize.

‘I have tried so many times to compare myself with the Kenyans and Ethiopians to see whether I could reach this gold, and I did,’ he added.

Sudan Agrees to Join International Criminal Court, in Preparation in handing Over Omar Al-Bashir to Answer for War Crimes

Sudan’s transitional cabinet has unanimously approved a bill that would allow it to join the International Criminal Court (ICC), Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok has announced

The unanimous decision by the cabinet comes as a surprise development as Sudan is known for gross human rights abuses especially during the time of former President Omar al-Bashir.

Bashir is a former military officer, politician, and war criminal who served as the seventh head of state of Sudan under various titles from 1989 before he was deposed in a coup d’état in 2019.

The draft by the transitional Cabinet has been approved in preparation for a joint meeting between the governing Sovereign Council and the cabinet to pass it into law.

“Justice and accountability are the backbone of the new Sudan, which is committed to the rule of law that we all seek to build,” Mr Hamdok said.

The development moves Sudan closer to handing over to the ICC, suspects wanted for war crimes and genocide including former President Omar al-Bashir.

Since August 2019, Sudan has been led by a transitional civilian-led administration, which has vowed to deliver justice to victims of crimes committed in Darfur during Bashir’s rule.

Turkish Club Galatasaray asked Radamel Falcao to Leave as They can no Longer Afford His salary

Galatasaray have asked star striker Radamel Falcao to leave the club as they can no longer afford his wages.

The Colombian striker arrived at Galatasaray in 2019, with 25,000 fans waiting for him at Istanbul’s Ataturk airport. But after scoring 19 league goals in his two seasons in Turkey, the former Atletico Madrid, Monaco, Chelsea, and Manchester United striker has been told to look for a new club.

Galatasaray president Burak Elmas has said the club’s financial problems after being hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic’s impact on ticket sales, meant they can no longer afford to keep Falcao or former West Ham midfielder Sofiane Feghouli.

‘I talked to Falcao and Feghouli,’ he told reporters.

‘They provided very good services to us but with this wage structure we can’t pay their wages. We want them to find a club.’

Elmas added: ‘I hope they will respond and they will find a club for themselves in a short time.

‘We part ways with good relations.

‘This is a management decision and we won’t consider them for the coming season.’

Third Wave of COVID-19 Infections Hits Nigeria – Minister of Health Says

Minister of Health, Ehanire Osagie has said that Nigeria is currently experiencing a third wave of COVID-19 pandemic.

Osagie who disclosed this at the press briefing of the presidential steering committee on COVID-19 on Monday August 1, called for state participation in sample collection, reporting, and treatment of cases. According to him, only 17 states made data or sample submissions in the last cycle.

The Minister said;

“All data indicate that we are now no doubt in the third wave of resurgence of the SARS-COV-2 infection, which we saw coming long ago.

“I wish to use the opportunity to again solicit more participation of our states in the roles they have to play, at this very trying time, in sample collection, preparing Isolation and treatment centers and providing logistics for movement of commodities and patients and reporting to the various COVID-19 pillars.

“Only 17 states made data or sample submissions in the last cycle, where Lagos and Akwa Ibom States were the epicenters.

“The federal ministry of health is engaging resident doctors who have embarked on industrial action with a view to quickly resolving the issues. While this is ongoing, medical directors at federal and state hospitals are directed to ensure that service delivery is not disrupted in their centres.”

Ehanire further stated that they are ready to receive cases in the face of the third wave threat, adding that there are available beds and oxygen supply at treatment centers.

The Minister who urged Nigerians to improve on the observance of precautionary measures and report any feeling of unwellness to the nearby COVID-19 centre, revealed thatmost of the deaths recorded were from people who didn’t get vaccinated.

He also announced that they are engaging resident doctors to call off the strike but will ensure treatment of patients is not disrupted by their absence.

Sunday Igboho’s Asylum Request will be Judged by the Benin Republic this Week

An asylum request filed in Benin Republic by Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo popularly known as Sunday Igboho will reportedly be determined this week.

Punch reported that the bail application for Igboho was deferred by his lawyers because of his medical report and the probable result of his asylum application among others.

Olasupo Ojo, one of Igboho’s lawyers said though there had not been an official statement from Benin Republic government on the asylum request, there is hope that a position will be made known this week.

He said;

“I have not got any official report in relation to that. Yes, we are expecting feedback this week.”

Spokesperson for Ilana Omo Oduduwa, Maxwell Adeleye also disclosed that the organisation is expecting a positive response.

Adeleye told Punch;

“We have submitted an application and we are hoping to get a positive response before the end of the week.”

Ibrahim Salami, one of the Cotonou, Benin Republic-based lawyers of Igboho, who expressed hope of the charges against being neutralised if he is granted asylum, also said Igboho was not arrested for possessing a Benin Republic passport as he only had a Nigerian passport with a German residency card.

Salami said;

“When he left Nigeria, he took the backdoor into Benin. It was at the airport that security operatives stopped him that he was on the watchlist. He didn’t go against any law in Benin Republic. They didn’t find any Beninese passport on him. He had a Nigerian passport with a German residency card. He needed no visa at that point.

“When we understudied the case, we realised that the Nigerian government had not filed a case for extradition. They only claimed that he is wanted in Nigeria for criminal offences. Our argument is that he was arrested because of Nigeria’s request, and there is no proof to show that he is a criminal. He spent barely 24 hours in the country and filed an asylum.”

Bill and Melinda Gates Officially Divorced

Bill and Melinda Gates are now officially divorced after a 27-year marriage.

The divorce between the wealthy pair, who are the co-founders of one of the world’s largest private charitable foundations, was finalized on Monday August 2nd, a court document showed.

Melinda French Gates’ petition for divorce, filed to the court on May 3, stated that the couple’s relationship was “irretrievably broken.” The divorce paperwork finalized on Monday said that she would not be changing her name and did not offer any spousal support, which French Gates said was not necessary in her original filing.

The court did not issue money, property or spousal support judgments in the divorce. It said the couple must comply with the terms of the separation contract that was not filed in King county superior court.

Gates, 65, and French Gates, 56, first announced their divorce in a joint statement in May, saying they no longer “believe we can grow together as a couple in this next phase of our lives.”

Nnamdi Kanu Urgently Needs Advanced Medical Care’ – His Lawyer, Barr. Ejiofor Says

Barr. Ifeanyi Ejiofor, the lead counsel to the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, has revealed that the IPOB leader is alive, dispelling rumors that have emanated since the Department of State Services (DSS) failed to provide him in court at the July 26 hearing .

Ejiofor, who visited Kanu on Monday in the custody of the Department of State Services in Abuja, said that the IPOB leader extended greetings to his supporters worldwide and that he is “firm and stable” although he still needs advanced medical care.

According to Ejiofor, Kanu also thanked all foreign governments and institutions that have been involved in his case so far.

Ejiofor said in a statement: “After weeks of speculations and uncertainties, we have finally seen our Client-Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. We can authoritatively confirm this position to the World.

“He is firm and stable, less the burden of solitary confinement and concomitant mental torture arising therefrom. Though the detaining authority is giving him medical attention, he still requires advanced medical care, which formed substantial part of the relief in our application before the Court.

“He specifically requested that we should extend his heartfelt compliment to millions of his supporters worldwide and all foreign Governments and institutions who are relentlessly following up. Media houses are indeed not left out of this classification.

“We are winning but your prayers are doing wonders, don’t relent, as you continue to remain law abiding. We shall continue to keep you all in constant communication on every development around him particularly now that the visit will be more regular than before.

Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court, Abuja had last Monday July 26, adjourned the trial of Kanu to October 21, due to failure of Nigerian Government to produce him in court.

The court has adjourned his hearing till October 21, 2021.

‘I Should Have Taken the Covid-19 Vaccine’ – Family Receives Heartbreaking Text From a Dying Covid-19 Patient

A Las Vegas dad who had been battling COVID-19 reportedly sent his fiancée a heartbreaking text, which read: “I should have gotten the damn vaccine” just before he died.

Michael Freedy, 39, had gone on vacation with fiancée Jessica du Preez and their children, ages 17, 10, 7, 6, and 17 months, in mid-July, KVVU reported.

After their return, Freedy went to the hospital with a painful skin rash. While there, he ended up testing positive for COVID-19.

He went home to isolate, but his symptoms became more and more severe, the outlet reported.

“Early Tuesday morning, I would say around 3, 4 o’clock in the morning, he wakes me up panicking,” du Preez told the Fox TV station. “He’s like, ‘I can’t breathe. I know something is wrong.’ “

The couple then went back to the hospital and Freedy was admitted with pneumonia in both lungs before he then moved to another hospital, where du Preez was allowed to see him.

“I just kept telling him, ‘You are going to get through this, you’ve got to come home to us,’ ” she said.

Instead, his condition deteriorated, and he was transferred to the ICU.

“I was able to call before they took him in, and he sat on the phone,” du Preez said. “And I was able to hear him. I was like, ‘Please keep fighting. Don’t give up.’ And he’s like, ‘I’m trying to fight, but they are going to intubate me and put me under.’ “

At one point, Freedy sent du Preez a text from the hospital.  “I should have gotten the damn vaccine.”

Inter Milan Rejects Chelsea’s transfer Offer of ‘£85m + Marcos Alonso’ for Romelu Lukaku

Chelsea’s offer of £85m plus Marcos Alonso for Romelu Lukaku has been turned down by Italian champions, Inter Milan.

The offer came after Chelsea were warned it would take an offer of more than €100m (£85m) to tempt Milan to sell Lukaku.

After finishing in UEFA’s official team of Euro 2020, he went on holiday to the Caribbean and the USA, where he stuck rigidly to his personal training programme. Reports say he is happy at the club but won’t mind going back to Chelsea where he played just 15 games before leaving in 2014 to Everton.

SkySports Reports:

Chelsea are determined to sign a world-class striker and their other main target this summer has been Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland.

Lukaku previously spent three years at Chelsea after signing from Anderlecht as a teenager in 2011.

However, he made only 15 appearances for the club – failing to score a goal – before moving to Everton for £28m in July 2014.

He was close to a return in July 2017 but opted to join Manchester United for £75m.
Inter signed him from United for £73m two years ago.

Donald Trump Raised $100M from His Political Supporters

Donald Trump in the campaign

Former US President, Donald Trump’s political organizations have nearly $102 million in cash reserves, contributions from supporters unhappy with his 2020 electoral loss to Joe Biden and hoping for a ‘change’

The unprecedented cash haul – of which 3.2 million contributions flowed during the first six months of the year, is the first time an ex-president is amassing such figures at this stage of an election cycle.

Trump’s fundraising is majorly from his two political action committees: Save America, a leadership PAC, and the Make America Great Again PAC.

The mind-boggling figures announced Monday speak highly of Trump’s ability to raise money from small-dollar donors online and during party conventions. It also shows he will not be a pushover in the Republican party for years to come.

In a statement, Trump complained of a “stolen” election and cited the donations as a sign that millions of Americans “share my outrage and want me to continue to fight for the truth.”

Trump’s cash reserves are stockpiled in his Save America leadership PAC, with $90 million remaining in its accounts as of June 30, new filings revealed by Politico show.

Trump also has hinted at seeking the White House again in 2024, and the new figures show he remains the Republican party’s dominant figure despite no longer being on social media.

‘Do you know that Driving Barefooted, Eating Stockfish, Wearing Lipstick can cause Infertility – Nigerian Doctor Says

The President of the Academy of Medicine Specialties of Nigeria, Professor Oladapo Ashiru, has said daily activities such as robbing a lipstick, driving barefooted and the use of insecticides can cause infertility.

Ashiru said this while giving a lecture at the inauguration and induction of fellows of the Academy held in Lagos.

He added that bad eating habits, stress, consuming stockfish and fish with a large presence of mercury in them, are embryo-toxic and could be a major cause of infertility.

“Some women do not drive with their shoes because they find it easy driving barefooted. Many patients experience miscarriages after going through IVF because the upper lining of those pedals have antimony which has been proven to be embryo-toxic. Not until we remove this antimony from them, they can’t be pregnant or keep a pregnancy.

Same goes for mercury which is present in large fish and stockfish; fumigation, oil spillages, the use of lipstick and pesticides are also injurious to the health.

Fumigation and pesticides can affect a woman who is carrying a baby; it will affect the baby and the child to be born. That is, toxins from pesticides affect three generations.

Women use a lot of lipstick, unknown to them that they carry a lot of toxins especially if they are cheaply made. Oil spills are also toxins to the sperm and eggs, it causes miscarriage.”he said

Kathy Griffin, Donald Trump’s Critique, Reveals she has Stage 1 Lung Cancer (note)

Kathy Griffin has announced that she has stage one lung cancer.

The comedian, who received heat for posing with a bloody effigy of then-President Donald Trump in 2017, also revealed that she was placed in psychiatric hold after she attempted suicide last year as she was struggling with addiction to prescription drugs.

Kathy Griffin

The 60-year-old actor-comedian revealed the suicide attempt and cancer diagnosis on Monday, August 2, during an interview with ABC News.

Griffin said that she was diagnosed with lung cancer despite never smoking cigarettes, and will have to have part of her left lung removed.

She added that she developed her drug addiction to cope with the backlash she endured after posing with a bloody effigy of then-President Donald Trump in 2017. She said she is now sober and eager to survive the health scare.

She said: “The irony is not lost on me that, a little over a year ago, all I wanted to do was die. And now, all I wanna do is live.”

She explained that she started taking Provigil after it was prescribed to her by a doctor. Griffin said she was then prescribed Ambien to help her sleep as well as painkillers for other injuries.

She continued: “I started thinking about suicide more and more as I got into the pill addiction, and it became almost an obsessive thought. I started really convincing myself it was a good decision.

“I got my living revocable trust in order. I had all my ducks in a row. I wrote the note – the whole thing.”

The suicide attempt took place in June of last year.

She said: “I really fell in love with (the pills).

“Then, it was kind of the allure of, ‘Oh, I can regulate my energy levels or my moods’. Or…I fell on my elbow in my act or something and I can be pain-free or something.

“And it got out of control very rapidly.”

Griffin, who had two siblings who died of cancer in recent years, took to Instagram earlier on Monday to reveal her diagnosis.

“I’ve got to tell you guys something. I have cancer,” she wrote on Instagram.

“I’m going to go into surgery to have half of my left lung removed. Yes, I have lung cancer even though I’ve never smoked!”

Football Have to Consider Abolishing ‘Heading’ – Research Links Dementia Disease to Repetitive ‘Heading’

A leading scientist, researching into the possible link between dementia and football has urged the sport authorities to consider abandoning headers after a new study highlighted the risk of players developing neurodegenerative diseases due to repeated heading.

Dr Willie Stewart of the University of Glasgow says football should now come with a warning regarding the dangers of heading in the sport over the course of a player’s career.

Previous studies had shown that footballers are more at risk of dying with dementia or other neurodegenerative diseases than the general population and Stewart says a new study published in the journal JAMA Neurology provides the “missing link” between the disease and the sport.

According to the study, out of the 7676 former football players in the study, five per cent (386) were diagnosed with a neurodegenerative disease, compared to just 1.6% (366) of the 23,028 in the control group.

Defenders are five times more at risk of catching neurodegenerative diseases than the general population, while goalkeepers are the least susceptible.

“With the current data we’re now at the point to suggest that football should be sold with a health warning saying repeated heading in football may lead to an increased risk of dementia. That’s where we are now, that cannot be ignored,” Stewart is quoted as saying by The Guardian.

“In the previous study we didn’t have sufficient data to be able to look at the important factor: exposure to football. What we could say last time was that being a footballer meant your risk of dying with a degenerative brain disease was higher, but we couldn’t say what in football was doing it.

“Now, through using our surrogates for exposure to heading and brain injury, which are field position and length of playing the game, we can see that if you’re in a position where you’re exposed to a high level of head impacts or you play the game longer, your risk is higher.”

He added: “The data from this paper is the missing link in trying to understand this connection between sport and dementia. We put that together with what we know about the mortality risk… and there really isn’t anything else. There is no other proposed risk factor and this is one we could really address and eliminate this disease.

“I think football has to ask the difficult questions: is heading absolutely necessary to the game of football? Is potential exposure to degenerative brain disease absolutely necessary? Or can some other form of the game be considered?”

Aaliyah had Insisted on Boarding the Small Private Plane, Killing Her and Other Passengers 20 years Ago

A new book by music journalist Kathy Iandoli refutes reports that singer Aaliyah had insisted on boarding the small private plane that crashed 20 years ago, killing her and other passengers.

In the book titled Baby Girl: Better Known as Aaliyah, Iandoli speaks to Kingsley Russell, a baggage carrier who worked for his family’s taxi business in the Bahamas, which is where Aaliyah and her crew had been shooting what would be the singer’s final music video, “Rock the Boat.

Russell, who was 13 at the time, now 33, claims he was with Aaliyah, 22, before the plane took off, as his stepmother was transporting the singer and her team to the airport.

Unlike reports that emerged following the crash, Russell claims Aaliyah had repeatedly refused to board the plane. So she was given a sleeping pill after telling her team that she had a headache and wanted to take a nap. The singer then fell asleep in the back of the taxi and was carried onto the plane while unconscious.

Russell said it is not made clear as to whether the singer knew that the pill she had been offered was a sleeping pill and not something to treat her headache.

Russell told Iandoli: “They took her out of the van; she didn’t even know she was getting boarded on a plane. She went on the airplane asleep.”

The book claims the pilot and airport staff had warned Aaliyah’s entourage that they, along with their video equipment and luggage, produced too much weight for the plane to safely reach altitude. Her team, however, was adamant about getting to Miami by the next day and ignored the pilot’s pleas.

The small twin-engine plane, which was more than two hours behind schedule, crashed moments after take-off.

Aaliyah was carried unconscious onto plane before fatal crash after she refused to board, new book alleges

“[The airport staff] and Aaliyah had the common sense that the plane was overweight,” Russell says in the book.

Aaliyah suffered severe burns and head trauma and, even if she had survived, the coroner’s office determined that her recovery would have been nearly impossible.

“The only thing I’ve taken with me is that after 20 years, I can finally say that Aaliyah didn’t want to get on the plane,” Iandoli told The Daily Beast. “That makes me feel a little better, but not much. This didn’t have to happen. She should still be here, and I think that’s the saddest part about it. She deserved better.”

Harry Kane Fails to Report to the Training Camp in Bid to Force Man City Transfer

Harry Kane has failed to report for Tottenham Hotspur training in a bid to force a transfer to Manchester City.

The England capatin was supposed to be back for his first session after Euro 2020 on Monday, August 2, for a coronavirus test and a fitness assessment following his three-week holiday after Euro 2020 but didn’t turn up amid potential exit.

Kane has told Spurs he wants to leave after growing frustrated at Tottenham’s failure to win a major trophy since 2008, with their latest letdown coming in last season’s League Cup final defeat against Manchester City.

He believes he has a ‘gentleman’s agreement’ with Tottenham which allows him to move this year.

But with three years left on his contract, Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has no intention of selling his club’s prized asset, who is valued at around £150 million ($208 million).

City and Pep Guardiola see Kane as potentially completing their first XI but there is some doubt over whether they would be willing to pay the fee that Spurs want for a 28-year-old.

Laurel Hubbard, Made History as the First Trans Woman to Compete in Weightlifting Event

New Zealand’s Laurel Hubbard has made Olympic history as the first openly transgender woman to compete in the Games.

The 43-year-old, who transitioned in 2012, was competing in the 87kg+ category but failed to record a single valid ‘snatch’ lift in Tokyo. She crashed out of the Olympics today after making history as the first trans woman to compete in a solo event.

She overbalanced on her opening weight of 120kg, taking the bar behind her shoulders. Hubbard’s second effort of 125kg was ruled invalid on a majority decision by the referees. The third attempt was almost a repeat of the first, ruling Hubbard out of medal contention.

New Zealand

The milestone comes 18 years after the International Olympic Committee first created a policy to allow transgender athletes to participate. Rather than focus on her performance in the +87 kg competition – which finished early when she was not able to register a snatch – Hubbard thanked the Japanese hosts of these Games and the sports organizations who supported her.

‘I’m not entirely unaware of the controversy which surrounds my participation at these Games,’ Hubbard said.

‘And as such, I would particularly like to thank the IOC, for I think really affirming its commitment to the principles of Olympism and establishing that sport is something for all people, that it is inclusive and is accessible.’

An eyewitness, who identified himself simply as Ade, told Punch that he and his friends were placing a bet under the bridge when they saw the suspect making a phone call so they confronted him.

The eyewitness added: “He had been at the Mowe bus stop for long and when some passers-by saw what we found on him, they pounced on him and beat him.

A trader in the area, identified simply as Yetunde, said the suspect was beaten when he refused to disclose who he was talking to on the phone.

This is an eye-opener to everyone in Mowe. Only God knows how many atrocities he has committed in Mowe.

“Probably he is working with ritualists, because I don’t know where he got the money and the phones, and maybe the underwear belong to women he raped or killed and sold their body parts.”

Lewis Hamilton feels Dizziness on Podium, fears He’s Still Suffering from Covid-19

Formula 1 star, Lewis Hamilton has admitted his fears he may be struggling with long Covid after he felt dizzy on the podium at the Hungarian GP on Sunday August 1.

The British racer finished third in a dramatic race in the Hungarian capital.

Five racers were forced to retire on the first corner after a red flag was waved following a mass pileup. Max Verstappen was involved in the crash, and he was able to finish the race.

Hamilton produced one of the best races of his career to move from last place up to third, but struggled to stand on the podium.

“I just gave it absolutely everything right until that last lap. I am so exhausted afterwards. One of the weirdest experiences I’ve had on the podium,” Hamilton said after the race.

“I think [Covid] is lingering there. I remember the effects of when I had it and training has been different ever since then.

“The level of fatigue that you get is different and it’s a real challenge. I’m trying to keep training and preparing as best I can.

“I was having real dizziness and everything got a bit blurry on the podium. I have been fighting all year to stay healthy and what happened at the end of last year [contracting Covid] but still it’s a battle.”

Hamilton had tested positive for Coronavirus last December, and he was forced to miss the Bahrain GP as a result.

Read CNN’s Prediction for Lagos City, May Become Unlivable in Future

CNN has published a damning report predicting the future of Lagos as the floods continue to devastate major parts of the city during rainy season.

According to the report, Lagos with an estimated population of 24 million people, may become uninhabitable by 2100 as sea levels rise due to climate change.

The report says the coastline of Lagos is quickly eroding, which makes the city vulnerable to flooding and that since scientists have predicted that Global sea levels will rise more than 6 feet (2 meters) by the end of this century, Lagos, which is less than two meters above sea, will greatly suffer with a sea-level rise of just 3 to 9 feet (about 1 to 3 meters)

6107abbd79714

The report published on Sunday night, August 1, adds that such a situation “will have a catastrophic effect on the human activities” in Lagos

Read excerpts of the report below.

“Cars and houses submerged in water, commuters wading through buses knee-high in floods, and homeowners counting the cost of destroyed properties.

Welcome to Lagos during rainy season.

Residents of Nigeria, Africa’s most populous nation, are used to the yearly floods that engulf the coastal city during the months of March to November. In mid-July, however, the major business district of Lagos Island experienced one of its worst floods in recent years.

Photos and videos posted to social media showed dozens of vehicles inundated with water after torrential rain. The floods paralyze economic activity, at an estimated cost of around $4 billion per year.

Home to more than 24 million people, Lagos, a low-lying city on Nigeria’s Atlantic coast, may become uninhabitable by the end of this century as sea levels rise due to climate change, scientific projections suggest.

The problem is exacerbated by “inadequate and poorly maintained drainage systems and uncontrolled urban growth,” among others, according to a study led by the Institute of Development Studies.

Nigeria’s hydrological agency NIHSA has predicted more catastrophic flooding in September, usually the peak of the rainy season.

Lagos is partly built on the mainland and a string of islands. It is grappling with an eroding coastline that makes the city vulnerable to flooding, which Sand mining for construction is a major contributor to shoreline erosion in Lagos, environmental experts have said.

Manzo Ezekiel, a spokesman for Nigeria’s emergency management agency (NEMA), told CNN that the riverbank of Lagos’ Victoria Island is already being “washed away … particularly in the V.I area of Lagos.” “There’s this problem of the river bank being washed away. The increase in water level is eating into the land,” Ezekiel added.

In Victoria Island, an affluent Lagos neighborhood — an entirely new coastal city christened ‘Eko Atlantic’ — is being built on land reclaimed from the Atlantic Ocean, and will be protected from rising waters by an 8-kilometer-long wall made from concrete blocks, developers say.

While the ambitious project could contribute to reducing housing shortages in other parts of the city, Ezekiel fears that “reclaiming land from the sea will put pressure on other coastal areas.”

Other critics have argued that adjacent areas not protected by the wall will be left vulnerable to tidal surges.

Low-lying coastal cities in some parts of the world may be permanently submerged by 2100, one study’s findings showed. The study published by research group Climate Central stated that affected areas could sink below the high-tide line if sea levels continue to rise.

“As a result of heat-trapping pollution from human activities, rising sea levels could within three decades push chronic floods higher than land currently home to 300 million people,” the study said. “By 2100, areas now home to 200 million people could fall permanently below the high tide line, and become unlivable’ it added.

Global sea levels have been predicted to rise more than 6 feet (2 meters) by the end of this century.

This leaves Lagos, which experts say is less than two meters above sea, in a precarious state, given that a chunk of Nigeria’s coastline is low-lying. In a study from 2012, the UK’s University of Plymouth found that a sea-level rise of just 3 to 9 feet (about 1 to 3 meters) “will have a catastrophic effect on the human activities” in Nigerian coastal environments.

Perennial flooding in Nigeria’s coastal areas has left many dead and scores displaced. According to NEMA data, more than 2 million people were directly affected by flooding in 2020.

At least 69 people lost their lives in flood disasters last year. In 2019, more than 200,000 people were affected by floods with 158 fatalities.”

Tokyo Olympics: Italy

Fred Kerley of Team USA won the silver medal, in a time of 9.84 seconds. Andrew De Grasse of Canada took bronze in 9.89.

“It’s incredible,” the 26-year-old said in English after the race. “My real dream is arrive here and run a final. We run a final and we win a final. It’s amazing. I have no words (to) describe this moment.

The son of an American father and an Italian mother, he was born in El Paso, Texas but moved to Italy as a young boy when the U.S. military transferred his dad to South Korea.

Bishop Oyedepo Reacts to those asking Him to Build a Factory instead of Church Auditorium

Senior Pastor of Living Faith Church, Bishop David Oyedepo, has hit back at those asking him to use money generated from his churches to build a factory instead of church a huge auditorium.

This is coming after the Senor Pastor sacked 40 pastors from his church. Two weeks ago, news broke that the clergyman sacked the pastors from his church and he was criticised online for his decision. In his earlier response, the clergyman said the pastors were sacked because they were ”unfruitful and blatant failures”.

While speaking in his church on Sunday, August 1, Oyedepo once again explained that the pastors were sent to rural churches with a task to win at least 12 souls a week and ensure that six come to church but the pastors failed in their assignments.

”Rural church is going on. All the offerings from Rural churches for the next 40 years cannot build what they are building for them. I learnt some fellows were saying that it is because they do not have offering that is why we said they should go.

It is because you are sick. You are unproductive. You have been plugged out. We sent you to go to the villages to reach out to minium of 12 souls in a week and ensure that a minimum of six of them come to church and then six months, you don’t have 10. You are unprofitable. Sound management brought us here.

Keeping unprofitable servant makes you a poor manager.’ You have the right to resign. We have the right to sack you. It is a system. It is like that everywhere. ‘he said

Oyedepo also responded to those saying he should have used the monies used in building different churches to build factories for his members.

”They are building one hundred thousand seat auditorium. Did they collect money from you? They should have built a factory. Do you budget for somebody’s resources? Keep quiet my friend and face your job. They enjoy hearing from me so I like speaking to them.” he said

According to the Nigeria Customs Service, about 30 out of 65 private airplanes verified so far are liable to pay required duties to the Federal Government.

The Customs Public Relations Officer, Mr Joseph Attah, made this known while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja on Sunday.

Attah explained that some of these airplanes came into the country by Temporary Importation agreement which allows them to bring the jets without payment because it was secured by bond.

He said thereafter many of them failed to turn up to pay on the expiration of the agreement which necessitated the verification.

He stated that with this exercise, there would be more revenue to be accrued to the Federal Government because those who failed to adhere to the agreement would be made to pay the duties.

The customs’ spokesperson said the verification had also given opportunity to the service to clearly differentiate those airplanes in the country that were on commercial operations from those owned and used for private purposes.

Attah restated that the verification was not meant to embarrass anybody but to ensure that the right or required duties were paid to the government by the owners of these private airplanes.

He further disclosed that with the impact of the first two weeks extension, the service had again given another two weeks which commenced from Monday, July 26, to Friday, August 6.

“Considering the rising number of compliance and the number of jets that are liable for payment of duties as well as indications by those people to do so, the Comptroller-General has again graciously given them another two weeks.

“The exercise as I stated in our previous briefings, is not intended to be punitive or to embarrass them but to ensure that these private jets that operate in the country are properly documented.

“And also, to ensure every collectable revenue is collected into the coffers of the Federal Government.

“As you all know the case of increasing economic challenge, every source of revenue is important to the government and beyond that, for security purpose.

“With this, you can now tie proper ownership to every aircraft or private jet that flies into and out of the country. Through the exercise, we have been able to know those hiding under temporary importation agreement.

“We are aware that owners of private jets are highly placed Nigerians who should be respected and approached in a manner that provides all necessary convenience and that is what these extensions stands for,”
he explained.

According to him, this will be the last extension because whoever fails to turn up for the verification will have his aircraft impounded.

Abba Kyari Is Extremely Rich From Proceeds of Crime Seized From Kidnappers — Resident Alleges

A resident of Borno state has said that Nigeria’s Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari who is being investigated for the extent of his connection with the suspected fraudster, Ramon Olorunwa Abbas, alias Hushpuppi, sells cars he seizes from kidnappers and armed robbers in Maiduguri, the state capital.

The resident in a private message to a Nigerian academic and media scholar, Farooq Kperogi also claimed Kyari has enriched himself through proceeds of corruption.

According to the anonymous resident, Kyari is not a millionaire but a billionaire, who has more than 20 properties in a posh area in his state, Borno.

Kperogi said: “Na wa o. This is what someone from Maiduguri sent to my inbox in response to my column. It is unedited and unverified but interesting nonetheless: ‘Everyone in Maiduguri knew that Kyari is extremely rich, he gives out cars, monies and sells those he seized from the kidnappers and armed robbers at some selected car stands in Maiduguri and Abuja, as at now he’s building a big plaza along Gombole Road near Giwa Barracks and bought the neighboring plaza.

‘There’s sign post he stood and snapped a picture where street was name after him, that’s New GRA or Bama GRA he has more 20 properties there!

‘You can independently find out from those who knows him, he has properties to his named in lagos, abuja etc, I call him super rich, he surpasses IGP Kamseleem.

‘What those kidnappers were saying is very true, I developed interest on what he’s doing when I read Evans interview where he said what Abba and his team took from his house was far beyond what they declared….he’s not a millionaire but billionaire.

‘He moves in convoys when in Maiduguri and brazenly go round his properties.’”

SaharaReporters had reported how Kperogi also quoted a resident of Borno saying Kyari was building a mansion on Jemina Road of Damboa, with its gate made of glass and steel.

The resident alleged that the police chief offered N70 million to a neighbour who has a house behind his mansion “so he can have his house out of the way to enable him have straight access to the main road from this mansion.”

“Good evening Prof. Just reading your post on the Abba Kyari saga. It didn’t come to me as a surprise. Kyari is so super rich for the job he does. He is building a mansion on Jemina road of Damboa, that house is something else. It is the first gigantic double-gated house I’m seeing in Maiduguri, the gate is made of glass and steel.

“He wanted paying (sic) of a neighbour who has a house behind him 70 million naira so he can have his house out of the way to enable him have straight access to the main road from this mansion. And with a couple of people who have told stories implicating him, and them being shut up, it doesn’t come as a surprise at all,” Kperogi quoted the Borno resident as saying.

The Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, has recommended the immediate suspension of Kyari, who is also the Head of the Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT), from the service of the Nigeria Police Force, pending the investigation of fraud allegations against him.

The IGP, in his letter to the Police Service Commission, dated 31st July, 2021, noted that the recommendation for the suspension of the officer, is in line with the internal disciplinary processes of the Force.

The United States Attorney’s Office, Central District of California, had issued an arrest warrant against Kyari for his alleged links to Hushpuppi, who is standing trial for various offences that include internet fraud and money laundering.

Hushpuppi has since pleaded guilty to the charges and, if convicted, risks a 20-year-jail term, three-year supervision upon completion of jail term and monetary restitution to the tune of $500,000 or more.

US court documents also outlined a dispute Hushpuppi had with a member of his gang, which allegedly prompted him to arrange to have an individual identified as ‘co-conspirator’ Kelly Chibuzor Vincent, jailed in Nigeria by DCP Kyari.

According to the affidavit, “Kyari is a highly decorated deputy commissioner of the Nigeria Police Force who is alleged to have arranged for Vincent to be arrested and jailed at Abbas’ behest, and then sent Abbas photographs of Vincent after his arrest.

“Kyari also allegedly sent Abbas bank account details for an account into which Abbas could deposit payment for Vincent’s arrest and imprisonment.”
