How the Police Arrested Chief Onuorah Over Kidnap, Beheading of Anambra Lawmaker, Okoye

An Unubi High Chief and malevolent herbalist, Chief Chukwujekwu Onuorah, alias “Egbe-Ejiejeogu” has been arrested by the operatives of Anambra State DSS Directorate. His arrest is one of the high profile and intelligence and technology powered and fastest arrests in recent times in connection with violent crimes. The arrested kingpin is the blood brother of revered Queen and Founder of the Famous Egedege Cultural Dance, the 80 years old Queen Theresa Onuorah of Unubi in Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra State. The arrested anti humanity and property violent crimes kingpin, Chief Chukwujekwu Onuorah is believed to be in his 70s and third in rank by birth after Theresa and Late Boniface (first son). His arrest was in connection with the abduction, disappearance, beheading and decapitation of Hon Okechukwu Okoye, an Isuofia Aguata born Anambra State Assembly lawmaker who was abducted on 15th May 2022.

How EGBE-EJIEJEOGU Was Trailed, Tracked And Arrested

It should be recalled that Intersociety had in its statement of 26th May 2022 (Killing of Northern Muslim Mother and her Children in Anambra…), independently disclosed the arrest of “some soft targets” (an Okada rider and an automobile mechanic) over the dastardly act and named Unubi as the location of the scene of the heinous crime(s). Intersociety which has been following the development behind the scene through its undercover agents also disclosed in its statement the arrest of the leader (“Omereora” from Nneni) of the street criminal gang whose members went on killing spree two days later, targeting defenseless civilians and their properties including the slain Northern Muslim mother and her children. In the case of EGBE-EJIEJEOGU, he was technologically trailed after he was found to have used the beheaded lawmaker’s sim-card to make criminal calls. Even after exhausting the sim-card ‘credit’; he completed the calls with his own cell phone.

The slayers of the kidnapped/beheaded lawmaker were earlier traced to Unubi where ransom running into millions of naira (some say, N20m) was physically delivered. The slayers collected the ransom and still went ahead to slay and decapitate the lawmaker. The cell phone of the slain lawmaker was put in monitoring devices during which it was found to have been used by EGBE-EJIEJEOGU to make several criminal calls days after he was beheaded. It was at this juncture that one of the ‘soft targets’ was arrested in Igboukwu leading to third party identification and location of the arrested kingpin. Between early hours of 28th (last Friday) and 29th (last Saturday) May 2022, the house of the arrested kingpin was raided after he was tracked to be at home. He made a magical escape after several gunshots were fired at him and he escaped by jumping into a ditch. After recovering several incriminating items including guns and bullets and his portrait, the operatives trapped him by leaving behind one of his cell phones. Between late night of 30th May and early hours of 31st May 2022, the cell phone was tracked to a private hospital in Awka forcing the operatives of the DSS to storm the clinic where he was arrested alive in bandage while trying to board a tricycle (KEKE). The two ‘soft targets’ earlier arrested were freed same yesterday being 31st May 2022. Bravo Director Enoch Pawa!

Burning Of His House And Properties Strongly Condemned

The operatives had gone back to the arrested kingpin’s ancestral home and dragged out an aged woman presumed to be his mother. His wife was said to have gone for “Omugwo” of her daughter who recently took to bed at Ekwulobia. The operatives had in anger after the arrested kingpin’s escape set ablaze the house (a one storey building and a bungalow) and their fixtures and chattels and burned same to ashes. The burning and property destruction are strongly condemned. In criminal investigation of such magnitude, burning of properties is the crudest form of such criminal enquiry and act of unprofessionalism. This is more so when some of the burnt properties or items could have aided the criminal investigation. It also amounts to class criminalization and transfer of criminal liability to others not involved in such heinous crime(s) including the presumed aged mother, wife and children of the arrested kingpin who have been rendered homeless for criminal activities of another. The burning down of the Family house (Obi) also stigmatizes and degrades the person and character of the Famous Egedege Queen and other innocent members of the Family and circumstantially designates them as “Criminal Family”.

We Disclosed To Counter Adulteration And False Credit Takers

Intersociety’s grounded intelligence finds that attempts are being made to spin and adulterate the true picture of what transpired in the above matter including possibility of labeling the arrested kingpin as “Arrested Top ESN Herbalist/Commander”. Contrarily, the arrested kingpin is strongly suspected, independently, to belong to street criminal gangs trademarked in violent crimes including political assassination, ritualism, killings, kidnapping, armed robbery and other crimes against persons and properties. Our independent disclosure here is also to thwart fake credit takers. Apart from the Anambra State Police Command falsely announcing “the arrest of one of the ESN commanders responsible for beheading of Hon Okoye and sundry crimes in Ebenator and its environs in Nnewi South”, which the Command recanted two days ago; efforts are also being intensified by some of the so called ‘critical stakeholders in Anambra security sector’ to falsely take credit for the rare feat solely achieved by the operatives of the Anambra DSS under Director Enoch Pawa.

Another Round Of Applause For Anambra DSS Boss (Enoch Pawa)

Intersociety hereby gives kudos to Anambra DSS Director, Enoch Pawa and dedicated civilian undercover agents that assisted in achieving the recorded feat. The achieved feat is consistent with our calls on Nigerian security operatives to jettison discriminatory, hate and crude policing or soldiering and embrace “man-mental-machine’ policing or soldiering. It must be pointed out that the use of discriminatory, hate and crude policing or soldiering always brings about bias and false intelligence and law enforcement and has never provided solutions to crime fighting. They, in totality, also aggravate and escalate crimes particularly violent crimes; making them repetitive and their perpetrators REPEAT OFFENDERS.

Fulani (Herdsmen) Jihadists Laying Siege On Anambra Interior And Boundary Communities

Intersociety had in its 13th May 2022 research and investigative report identified criminal entities troubling Anambra State and the rest of the Southeast to include Jihadist Fulani Herdsmen. Others are suspected state raised armed fifth columnist counterfeiters, street criminal gangs; extractive mineral criminal gangs including those involved in communal sand excavation and oil bunkering. The rest are derailed splinter self determination groups. This is to the extent that out of every ten violent crimes especially trademarked street violent criminal activities officially linked to “ESN/IPOB”, at least nine have nothing whatsoever to do with them. Intelligence at our disposal also indicates that the high commands of the country’s security forces hardly investigate and track down the Jihadist Fulani perpetrators. One of the recent Fulani kidnapped victims told Intersociety that “he was strongly advised to avoid mentioning in his petition to security agencies that he was abducted by (Jihadist) Fulani Herdsmen”.

Statistically, therefore, Jihadist Fulani Herdsmen have severally been caught, independently, in recent months (.i.e. March to May 2022) kidnapping Anambra and Southeast citizens in their hundreds and killing others in their dozens with ransom payments amounting to over N1b. Anambra boundary communities and a number of interior others are the worst hit. On 10th May 2022, an Anambra wealthy citizen, Okafor Stanley, escaped death by whiskers when he was waylaid by Jihadist Fulani Herdsmen along Umunze-Arondizogu-Okigwe Federal Road. He had geared off in high speed and miraculously escaped them but not without his car riddled with bullets. In the third week of April 2022, a wealth indigene of Ezinifite in Aguata, Chief Ray Iloanusi was abducted by Jihadist Fulani Herdsmen at Anambra boundary with Isuochi in Abia State and held for several days until ransom worth millions of naira was paid. He was also brutalized and yet to recover from trauma. On 14th May 2022, Citizen Ignatius Onyejekwe, a staff of the Oko Federal Poly in Anambra State was abducted by Jihadist Fulani Herdsmen at NNPC Filling Station, Adazi-Nnukwu along Nneni-Agulu Road in interior part of the State. He was brutalized and held for two days before being freed on 16th May 2022 at a bush behind the Golden Tullip Int’l Hotel, Agulu after paying N3m ransom. His snatched car and cell phones are yet to be recovered. On Sunday, 30th May 2022, the Prelate of the Methodist Church of Nigeria, Archbishop Sam Uche and his Bishop of Owerri, Denis Mark and another were abducted by Jihadist Fulani Herdsmen at Umunneochi (Isuochi) in Abia State and tens of millions of naira (some say, N100m) was paid for their release. These are just to mention but a few.

Anthony Joshua VS Oleksandr Usyk match postphoned to mid-August

Anthony Joshua’s rematch against Oleksandr Usyk has reportedly been pushed back until mid-August.

The British-Nigerian boxer is set to face Usyk for a second time this year after losing his unified heavyweight titles when they last collided back in September.

Recall, that the rematch between the pair was billed to take place in Saudi Arabia on July 23, but The Telegraph is now reporting that it has been delayed until mid-August due to a dispute surrounding broadcast rights.

It is believed their return bout will still be staged out in the Middle East, where Joshua previously reclaimed his unified crown against Andy Ruiz Jr in December 2019.

The delay will allow him more time to gel with new trainer Robert Garcia amid reports claiming he has joined forces with the Mexican-American.

It was gathered that additional time will be required to create a purpose-built stadium in Saudi Arabia fitted with air conditioning, an essential given the searing temperatures of more than 40 degrees.

Hearn revealed in an interview with iFL TV this week that while his proposed date of July 23 was not guaranteed, an official announcement confirming the rematch is on the horizon.

‘When you question about will there be a delay? If there is, you’re talking about two weeks and it’s for no other reason than time and making sure we can promote the fight in the right way,’ he said.

‘The fight is happening, the fight is agreed in terms of where it will take place and both sides have agreed, both sides have agreed the deal, and both sides have agreed everything.

‘It’s just probably taken 10 days longer than we wanted it to and without putting a date all I can tell you is we are finalising the final bits of paperwork, and everything is agreed. So, standby.’

Osinbajo speculated to be Buhari’s chosen candidate ahead of APC primary

President Muhammadu Buhari is backing the Vice-President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo as his preferred aspirant ahead of the National Convention of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) billed to hold this weekend in Abuja.

A senior presidential aide who disclosed this to our correspondent yesterday said Buhari strongly believed that having worked closely with him since May 2015, Osinbajo is the best aspirant to continue with the policies of the administration.

The president is also said to be impressed with the way the Vice-President has piloted the affairs of the country during the period he held fort as Acting President.

He said this backing by Buhari is responsible for the confidence Osinbajo has exuded so far in the race for the presidential ticket of the party.

Speaking further, he said following the emergence of Atiku Abubakar as the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), some power brokers in the APC tried to project Senate President, Ahmad Lawan as their best so as to rival Atiku in the North but their proposal was rejected.

“As at today, Tuesday, the President is firmly behind the Vice-President as his preferred aspirant. He has refused to shift ground even after some members of his kitchen cabinet started rooting for Ahmad Lawan after the emergence of Atiku Abubakar as PDP presidential candidate”.

“Some northern powerful forces and religious leaders are pushing for a Northern candidate while others are behind the moves to draft former President Goodluck Jonathan into the race so that he can serve just one term and return power back to the North in 2027 but Buhari is not buying into all that”.

“Those pushing for Lawan had argued that since Atiku is from the North East of Adamawa, the APC should also present its candidate from another North- East state but the proposal was quickly shot down by some concerned stakeholders who also have the ears of the President”.

“Those against Lawan argued that if fielded as APC presidential candidate, the election will be a walkover for PDP and Atiku as he will even beat the Senate President hands down in his home state of Yobe. The only place Lawan is popular is in Yobe North Senatorial District” our source said.

Johnny Depp wins defamation case against Amber Heard, she has to pay him over $8M

Johnny Depp has won his defamation case against Amber Heard and the jury awarded him $15million. $10million in compensatory damages and $5million in punitive damages.

The panel of seven in Fairfax decided to award the Pirates of the Caribbean star a total $15 million in damages after deliberating for about 13 hours. The judge, however, reduced the $5million punitive damages he could receive to $350,000 because Virginia law caps punitive damages in these cases at $350k.

Amber now owes Johnny Depp $8,350,000

Depp was not in court for the ruling as he was in the UK on tour with guitar legend Jeff Beck.

However, Amber Heard was in court.

Heard was awarded $2million in compensatory damages out of the $100million she was seeking in her countersuit against her ex-husband. She was awarded zero dollars in punitive damages.

Heard, 36, alleged Depp physically and sexually abused her.

But Depp repeatedly denied the claims.

Over the course of the six-week trial, Depp’s lawyers went to lengths to prove that Depp, not Heard, was the victim of domestic abuse in their relationship.

Amber Heard said in a statemnt after the verdict: “The disappointment I feel today is beyond words. I’m heartbroken that the mountain of evidence still was not enough to stand up to the disproportionate power, influence, and sway of my ex-husband.”

Heard called the verdict a “setback” for other women, saying: “It sets back the clock to a time when a woman who spoke up and spoke out could be publicly shamed and humiliated. It sets back the idea that violence against women is to be taken seriously.”

She continued: “I’m sad I lost this case. But I am sadder still that I seem to have lost a right I thought I had as an American – to speak freely and openly.”

The actress won her second of three counts in her $100 million counterclaim against her ex-husband, with the jury finding that Depp’s attorney Adam Waldman did defame her when he told the Daily Mail she set up Depp in a hoax when the police came to their apartment in May 2016.

PH ‘big girl’ dies in Nigerian clinic following ‘botched cosmetic surgery’

A friend has taken to Twitter to call out a plastic surgery clinic following a botched surgery that allegedly led to the death of a Nigerian woman.

A young lady named Christabel allegedly died at the hospital in Lagos few days ago.

Her friend claimed on Twitter that before Christabel’s death, she complained to the clinic that did her surgery that she was experiencing bleeding.

The friend claimed the clinic told Christabel it was normal post-surgery and the bleeding will stop. Sadly, it proved fatal.

She said when friends didn’t hear from Christabel for days, they searched at the hospital where she went for the surgery and the hospital allegedly gave them a letter showing that her body has been deposited at the morgue.

The friend said the hospital didnt think it wise to contact any of Christabel’s relatives to let them know, until they went to the hospital.

The friend has called on the authorities to investigate the hospital and ensure that Christabel gets justice.

Paul Pogba is leaving Manchester United on a free transfer

Manchester United have confirmed that Paul Pogba will leave the club when his contract expires at the end of June.

The 29-year-old, a World Cup winner with France in 2018, left Old Trafford to join Juventus as a free agent in 2012, only to return four years later for a then world-record fee of £89m. Since his return, Pogba has struggled to replicate his form for the club.

On Wednesday June 1, Manchester United announced that Paul will leave the club with the Frenchman speculated to return to Juventus after his representatives held positive talks with the Italian giants last month.

“The club can announce that Paul Pogba will leave Manchester United at the end of June, upon the expiry of his contract,” United said at the start of a lengthy send-off statement on the club website.

“Everyone at the club would like to congratulate Paul on his successful career, and thank him for his contributions to Manchester United.

“We wish him all the best for the next steps on a remarkable journey.”

Pogba scored 39 goals in 233 first-team appearances for United, who he first joined from French club Le Havre in 2009.

It is understood a decision on Pogba’s next club is expected “soon”, with his final choice expected to be a “football decision”.

Elon Musk orders all Tesla employees to return to work, he claims that remote workers “pretend to work”

Elon Musk has requested that all Tesla employees stop remote work and come back to the office or else they will be fired.

When the Covid-19 pandemic hit, Tesla allowed remote work for every role where it was possible.

But this doesn’t seem to be working for the company.

CEO Elon Musk sent a series of emails yesterday, May 31, that basically requests employees come back to the office or be terminated.

The mail reads: “Anyone who wishes to do remote work must be in the office for a minimum (and I mean *minimum*) of 40 hours per week or depart Tesla. This is less than we ask of factory workers.”

The CEO added that there might be some exceptions, but he will review and approve those himself, which is a good way to incentivize people not to ask for exceptions.

In a follow-up email, Musk reminded employees that he set the example by sleeping in the factory.

He wrote: “The more senior you are, the more visible must be your presence. That is why I lived in the factory so much – so that those on the line could see me working alongside them. If I had not done that, Tesla would long ago have gone bankrupt.”

Finally, the CEO took a dig at the companies who still allow remote work.

He wrote: “There are of course companies that don’t require this, but when was the last time they shipped a great new product? It’s been a while.”

See Elon Musk’s full email to staff below.

First email:

Subject: Remote work is no longer acceptble

Anyone who wishes to do remote work must be in the office for a minimum (and I mean *minimum*) of 40 hours per week or depart Tesla. This is less than we ask of factory workers.

If there are particularly exceptional contributors for whom this is impossible, I will review and approve those exceptions directly.

Moreover, the “office” must be a main Tesla office, not a remote branch office unrelated to the job duties, for example being responsible for Fremont factory human relations, but having your office be in another state.

Thanks,
Elon

Second email:

Subject: To be super clear

Everyone at Tesla is required to spend a minimum of 40 hours in the office per week. Moreover, the office must be where your actual colleagues are located, not some remote pseudo office. If you don’t show up, we will assume you have resigned.

The more senior you are, the more visible must be your presence. That is why I lived in the factory so much – so that those on the line could see me working alongside them. If I had not done that, Tesla would long ago have gone bankrupt.

There are of course companies that don’t require this, but when was the last time they shipped a great new product? It’s been a while.

Tesla has and will create and actually manufacture the most exciting and meaningful products of any company on Earth. This will not happen by phoning it in.

Thanks,
Elon

New York State to raise age for purchasing semiautomatic weapons to 21

Following a pair of heinous tragedies, in Buffalo of New York state and most recently Uvalde in Texas, New York governor, Kathy Hochul and state lawmakers announced a deal Tuesday May 31, on a package of bills that will raise the minimum age to buy a semiautomatic rifle to 21 and tighten New York’s already strict gun laws.

The agreement comes in the wake of mass shootings at a Texas elementary school and a Buffalo supermarket that left dozens dead prompting renewed calls for gun laws change at the national level.

On May 14, 10 people, all Black, were killed while shopping at a Tops Friendly Market in Buffalo. Authorities allege that 18-year-old Payton Gendron gunned down his victims after posting racist screeds in online chat rooms and plotting the massacre for months.

Last week, Salvador Ramos, also 18, slaughtered 19 children and two teachers at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas, before being killed by police. Ramos reportedly posted pictures of guns and made threatening comments online ahead of his rampage.

Both shooters used variations of semiautomatic rifles known as an AR-15s, which are legal in New York.

Hochul said New York must step up and change its gun laws to ensure citizens safety until Congress decides to take action.

“New York already has some of the toughest gun laws in the country, but clearly we need to make them even stronger,” the governor said in a statement Tuesday, May 31.

“New Yorkers deserve to feel safe in schools, in grocery stores, in movie theaters, in shopping malls, and on our streets — and we must do everything in our power to protect them.”

The new law package includes measures prohibiting the sale and purchase of body armor for anyone not in law enforcement and closing the “any other weapon” loophole that allows the sale of certain weapons that would otherwise be banned.

Among the biggest changes to New York’s gun laws will be a new requirement that anyone seeking to buy a semiautomatic rifle must be at least 21, up from 18, and must first obtain a gun license.

At the moment, licenses and permits are needed only for handguns.

“Our nation has been brought to a moment of reckoning due to weapons of war that have been too easily accessed by those seeking to kill,” state Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins (D-Yonkers) said. “These weapons have made places in our communities like schools, grocery stores, houses of worship and concerts places of carnage.”

Other bills will strengthen the state’s “red flag” law, which helps remove guns from those who may be a threat to themselves or others, and create a new “Task Force on Social Media and Violent Extremism” within the attorney general’s office to “study and investigate the role of social media companies in promoting and facilitating violent extremism and domestic terrorism online.”

“Just 10 days separated the mass shootings in Buffalo and Uvalde that took the lives of 31 people. Nowhere else in the world is this happening,” said Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie (D-Bronx).

“We are in desperate need of a conversation about guns, but we are also in desperate need of action.

“I hope that one day we’ll see the end to the horrific gun violence we see in this country. But until then, I will keep fighting,” he added.

Lawmakers are expected to vote on the package before the scheduled end of the legislative session on Thursday, June 2.

Under the new laws, police will have to report seized or recovered guns to the criminal gun clearinghouse and share information with federal authorities as well as test-fire seized or recovered guns for the National Integrated Ballistic Information Network.

The state police will also be required to conduct inspections of gun dealers every three years.

Russia cuts off natural gas supply to Denmark for refusing to pay in Rubles

Denmark’s largest energy company has announced that Russia cut off its gas supply on Wednesday, June 1,  because it refused to pay in rubles, the latest escalation over European energy amid the war in Ukraine.

This comes after Russia halted natural gas supplies to Finland, Poland, and Bulgaria for refusing a demand to pay in rubles. Just on Tuesday, May 31,  the tap was turned off to the Netherlands.

On Wednesday, June 1, Danish energy company Ørsted confirmed gas supply from Russia has been cut off, adding that it still expects to be able to serve its customers.

“We stand firm in our refusal to pay in rubles, and we’ve been preparing for this scenario,” Ørsted CEO Mads Nipper said. “The situation underpins the need of the EU becoming independent of Russian gas by accelerating the build-out of renewable energy.”

Russian President Vladimir Putin declared in the wake of Western sanctions that “unfriendly foreign buyers” needed to open two accounts with state-owned Gazprombank, one to pay in euros and dollars as specified in contracts and another in rubles.

“This is totally not acceptable,” Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said. “This is a kind of blackmailing from Putin. We continue to support Ukraine, and we distance ourselves from the crimes that Putin and Russia commit.”

The Danish Energy Agency said that in the first 18 weeks of 2022, Russian gas amounted to approximately 25% of EU gas consumption. The agency said that Denmark losing its supply would not have immediate consequences

“We still have gas in Denmark, and consumers can still have gas delivered,” Kristoffer Böttzauw, head of the Danish Energy Agency. said in a statement Monday. “But we have plans ready if the situation worsens.”

”Since there is no pipeline going directly from Russia to Denmark, Russia will not be able to directly cut off gas supplies to Denmark, which still will be able to get it, Ørsted said.

”Russia’s move means that Denmark must purchase more gas on the European gas market, the company added.

Alert! Nose-bleed fever death toll rises to 18 as the virus spreads

An outbreak of a “nose-bleed fever” is Iraq has raised concern among veterinary and health authorities.

The tick-borne virus has been detected in 120 people in Iraq since January including 18 who have died from the disease health officials have warned, fearing an escalating spread.

The virus also called Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever, has been known to cause severe symptoms in patients. In some cases, sufferers have reportedly encountered internal and external haemorrhaging, resulting in blood loss.

Iraqi officials say that almost one third of all deaths, thought to be around 18, have come in the last two weeks, sparking fears of an uncontainable outbreak.

According to the World Health Organisation (WHO) patients become infected with the virus following contact with the blood of infected animals, including ticks.

The virus is not novel, but it is rare and apparently spreading at an unprecedented rate throughout Iraq.

Between 10 and 40 percent of cases die from the disease. Aside from profuse bleeding and potential death, early symptoms include fever, body aches, dizziness, neck pain, headache and sore eyes. Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, sore throat and brain fog have also been observed in infected patients, according to the World Health Organization.

Monkeypox: ‘Bush Meat’ sale and consumption banned in Nigeria

The federal government has banned the sale and consumption of bush meat in a bid to curb the spread of monkepox disease.

Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Dr Mohammad Abubakar on Tuesday May 31, directed hunters and dealers of bush meat in the country to stop the business.

Abubakar also urged Nigerians to avoid contact with persons suspected to be infected with monkeypox.

Veterinary epidemiology officers, field surveillance agents and veterinarians have also been asked to step up surveillance to pick any possible case of Monkeypox in animals.

The statement read;

“Following the recent confirmation of Monkeypox (MP) resurgence in Nigeria on May 29, 2022, involving 21 persons, by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), where it was said to have led to the death of one person with co-morbidity, the Federal Ministry of Agriculture & Rural Development (FMARD), through the Department of Veterinary & Pest Control Services, is collaborating with NCDC and stakeholders in the One Health Team to ensure the situation is contained and brought under control.

“People must avoid contact with persons suspected to be infected with Monkeypox at home and at workplaces.

“Hunters and dealers of ‘bushmeat’ must desist from the practice to prevent any possibility of ‘spillover’ of the pathogen in Nigeria.

“Transport of wild animals and their products within and across borders should be suspended/restricted

“Silos, stores and other agricultural storage facilities must institute active rodent control measures to prevent contacts and possible contamination of Monkeypox virus with foodstuff.

“Operators of zoos, parks, conservation and recreational centres keeping non-human primates in their domains must ensure strict compliance with biosecurity protocols to prevent contacts with humans.

“Veterinary clinics, veterinary teaching hospitals and veterinary health institutions across the country must ensure vigilance to pick up possible signs and symptoms of Monkeypox in non-human primate (NHP) patients.

“We must also ensure regular handwashing using strong disinfectant anytime we handle NHP and rodents.

“We must also discourage consumption, trade and keeping of NHP as well as rodents as pets in our homes.

“The public is advised to report any pox-like lesions seen on humans or animals to the nearest human or veterinary clinics.”

US Govt wouldn’t remove Putin from power, except if he attacks NATO – Joe Biden

The US will only get directly involved in the war against Russia and Putin’s government if he attacks NATO, US president, Joe Biden has stated.

According to Biden on Wednesday, June 1, the U.S. will not push for the removal of Russian President Vladimir Putin from power, despite saying in March that Putin “cannot remain in power.”

Biden made the statement in an op-ed in the New York Times, where he laid out what his administration will do and will not do in Ukraine.

“We do not seek a war between NATO and Russia,” Biden wrote. “As much as I disagree with Mr. Putin, and find his actions an outrage, the United States will not try to bring about his ouster in Moscow.”

“So long as the United States or our allies are not attacked, we will not be directly engaged in this conflict, either by sending American troops to fight in Ukraine or by attacking Russian forces,” he added.

Back in March, White House officials had to walk back Biden’s call for Putin’s removal saying Biden’s point was that Putin “cannot be allowed to exercise power over his neighbors or the region,” adding that he was not pushing for “regime change.”

In recent months, White House officials have walked back the president’s comments on Putin’s regime, his claim that U.S. troops would be deploying to Ukraine, and his statement that the U.S. military would intervene if China invaded Taiwan.

Iran sentences over 50 people to death for adultery

Iran has sentenced 51 people to death by stoning because they were caught cheating on their partners.

A total of 23 women and 28 men currently await death as hardline Islamist judges and lawmakers continue to take a zero-tolerance attitude towards adultery, which is considered a grave sin under their interpretation of the Quran.

In Iran, death by stoning involves wrapping victims in linen and burying them in sand up to their waists before they are pelted with rocks.

Those sentenced to death by stoning often experience waits of several years without knowing their execution date, with most only finding out when executioners arrive at their cell door.

Some of those currently condemned to death are only in their twenties, according to papers from the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) obtained by The Sun.

iran stoning justice

Hossein Abedini, deputy director of the NCRI’s UK representative office, told the newspaper: “The Iranian regime’s brutal practice of stoning is enshrined in the mullahs’ medieval penal code, which also permits amputation of limbs and eye-gouging.

“The mullahs’ regime is rotten to the core. Such acts of suppression are a vain attempt to contain a disgruntled society that’s on the verge of explosion.

“The victims live with the constant fear of the moment when the prison guards will open their cell door and call them out to have their sentence served.

Iran is believed to have the highest rate of executions per capita in the world, according to the Death Penalty Information Centre.

Canadian Govt places “Gun Freeze” on gun ownership

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has announced that his government will introduce new legislation to implement a ‘national freeze’ on handgun ownership and prevent people from buying and selling handguns anywhere in the country.

‘The day this legislation goes into effect it will no longer be possible to buy, sell, transfer or import handguns in Canada,’ Trudeau told reporters on Monday, May 30.

The handgun freeze would contain exceptions, including for elite sport shooters, Olympic athletes, and security guards. Canadians who already own handguns would be allowed to keep them.

The new laws would also ban some toys that look like real guns, such as airsoft rifles. Last week Toronto police shot and killed a man carrying a pellet gun.

“Because they look the same as real firearms, police need to treat them as if they are real. This has led to tragic consequences,” Justice Minister David Lametti told reporters.

Tom Stamatakis, president of the Canadian Police Association, welcomed some of the moves, such as the “red flag” provisions in the case of domestic violence, and said he would like more information on enforcement and resources for measures such as the handgun freeze.

He completely supported a crackdown on fake guns, which he said were a “big challenge.”

“You cannot distinguish between what’s a replica firearm and what’s a real firearm, particularly when these incidences involving replica firearms occur often in very dynamic, quickly evolving circumstances.”

If passed, the freeze on handguns is expected to come into force in the autumn.

Canada’s public safety minister has tabled regulatory amendments in parliament to ensure it can be implemented swiftly, according to a ministry statement.

This comes after the last week’s killing of 19 children and two teachers at an elementary school in Texas has fed concern about gun violence worldwide.

In 2020, Canada banned the sale and use of some 1,500 models of assault weapons, like the AR-15 rifle in the wake of a mass shooting in Portapique, Nova Scotia, a move some firearms owners say they are contesting in court.

Racism: “When we win, we are British but if we missed penalty, we are blacks” – footballer cries

England footballer, Jude Bellingham has slammed fans in his country over the racial abuse of team-mates Bukayo Saka, Marcus Rashford, and Jadon Sancho following last summer’s Euro 2020 final.

The Three Lions trio were subjected to sickening abuse online after the final at Wembley, where they all lost from a spot-kick in a penalty shootout defeat for Gareth Southgate’s men.

Speaking with The Mirror in a recent interview, the Borrusia Dortmund midfielder said: ‘You look at the run into that final and you felt as though the country had united. Then as soon as they missed a penalty, they were not English, just black. Anyone can miss a penalty. Anyone can make a mistake in their line of work. But to be criticised like that should never happen. They are human.

Uk footballers

‘They are all top, top characters. To see them brought down like that was disgusting. As a team-mate it’s hard to take because that could have been me. What if I’d missed a penalty? You’re English for seven games and then all of a sudden, you’re nothing.

‘I know these are select idiots, of course, and it’s not the whole nation turning against them. I’m sure that they probably had a bigger comeback of support. But the only support they should need is for missing the penalty, not for the racism that they’ve received after it.’

Bellingham also believes there are inconsistencies in how football’s governing bodies address racism compared to other issues.

In December of last year, he was fined £34,000 by the German FA for questioning the appointment of referee Felix Zwayer in Borussia Dortmund’s 3-2 defeat against Bayern Munich.

The Dortmund midfielder made a reference to Zwayer’s previous six-month ban over a match-fixing scandal and was made to pay a result. But claimed that there is a contrast when dealing with racist abuse.

‘There’s not a single job in the world where you deserve to be criticised with racism,’ he added. ‘I’ll never forget the first time I properly got a batch of messages. My club were quick to send someone to message me and make sure I was alright and I really appreciate that. I had team-mates message me and family members.

‘I didn’t receive anything from the DFB or FA. And I always kind of compare it to when I said the thing about the referee in December. They were very quick to get into contact to give me my fine, give me my punishment, and kind of make it a big drama in the media.

‘I’ve learned from that. I know what I can and can’t say. I know that sometimes I have to control my emotions better. But, you know, when you give that more energy than the situation I was going through, well – I felt: “Maybe we are alone. Maybe they’re not interested, maybe they don’t care. And maybe it is down to me and down to us to work independently to get our message out.”‘

“The Real Madrid game killed us. The best team doesn’t always win” – Messi

Football star, Lionel Messi believes Real Madrid were not the best team in this season’s UEFA Champions League.

Madrid won their 14th European crown on Saturday, May 28 after Vinicius Junior’s early second half goal in the 1-0 final against Liverpool in Paris.

Before the final, Carlo Ancelotti’s men beat the likes of Manchester City and Chelsea on their way to the final at the Stade de France.

real madrid wins 2

In the last-16 tie against PSG, Karim Benzema’s stunning 17-minute hat-trick turned the second leg at the Santiago Bernabeu in Madrid’s favour and now Messi, 34 says Madrid weren’t the best team in the competition.

Speaking to Argentinian broadcaster TYC, Messi said;

“The Real Madrid game killed us. The best team doesn’t always win.

“Without taking anything away from Madrid, because they are the champions of Europe and they’re always there or thereabouts, but they weren’t the best team of this Champions League.

“The Champions League is about situations, key moments, psychological moments that take a team, where the slightest error can eliminate you and the those who are best prepared for those situations end up winning or reaching the final.”

This season, Messi scored just six goals in Ligue 1 in 2021-22 following his move from Barcelona.

Buhari meets APC Governors ahead of the APC Presidential Primaries

Ahead of its National onvention where the presidential candidate will be chosen, President Buhari has called on members of the All Progressives Congress to present a candidate who would give the party a sense of victory and confidence in the 2023 Presidential election.

The President gave the charge when he met with the leadership of the party and the governors elected on the platform of the APC in hisnoffice today May 31st.

A statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, quoted the President as saying

“The processes for the 2023 General Elections have commenced in earnest and I note that the most successful political parties globally have always relied on their internal cohesion and a strong leadership brand to achieve bigger electoral fortunes. Our party, the APC, shall not be any different, more so as we are still implementing the blueprint for a more prosperous nation.”

The President warned that he will apply stronger control on the ruling party in his last year at the helm to ensure that it remains strong and united so that it can retain power.

 According to him

“As I begin the final year of my second term as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and leader of the party, I recognize the compelling need for me to provide stronger leadership to the party under this transition process and to ensure that it happens in an orderly manner.

Such leadership is required so that the party remains strong and united. It is also needed to improve our electoral fortunes by ensuring that it retains power at the center, hold the great majority in various legislative chambers and also gain additional number of states.

In a few days, the party will be holding its Convention during which primaries would take place to pick the Presidential Flag Bearer for the 2023 General Elections. This is a very significant process and its outcome should prove to the world, the positive quality of the APC regarding democratic principles, culture as well as leadership.”

The President appealed to all the Governors “to allow our interests to converge, our focus to remain on the changing dynamics of our environment, the expectations of our citizens and the global community. Our objective must be the victory of our party and our choice of candidate must be someone who would give the Nigerian masses a sense of victory and confidence even before the elections.”

While assuring that the consultation process will continue to ensure that all aspirants and stakeholders are brought on board right through to the convention, he stressed that it would also ensure that any anxiety occasioned by different factors are effectively brought under control, “and that our party emerges stronger.”

Speaking on behalf of the state governors, Governor Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State, and Chairman of Progressive Governors Forum said the party must build on successes of its recent elective convention, and the primaries conducted so far, “and come up with a candidate who will walk in the footsteps of patriotism and love for the country, which Mr President has shown,” adding: “We will support Mr President to have a very successful convention.

Karim Benzema may get the Ballon d’Or this year – Lionel Messi says

Lionel Messi has insisted that Karim Benzema is clearly the top contender for this year’s Ballon d’Or award.

The Real Madrid striker, 34, is favourite for the prestigious award after scoring 44 goals in 46 games in all competitions this season, helping Los Blancos to the Champions League and LaLiga titles.

The incumbent award holder Messi, a record seven-time winner said to Argentine TV station TyC Sports that he thinks French star Benzema will get the award this year.

He said: ‘I think there are no doubts this year.

Messi, who urged authorities to give Lewandowski the 2020 award after the ceremony was postponed that year due to COVID,  pipped the Pole in 2021, and Lewandowski admitted he was disappointed.

Reacting to Lewandowski’s disappointing statement, Messi said he was ‘not interested’ in what his rival had to say on the matter.

The Argentine added: ‘Obviously he can express himself and say what he wants. I honestly don’t share what he said but I didn’t give it much importance either. That’s it, it stayed there and he can say what he wants and I’m not interested.

‘But the words I said at that moment were from the heart and because I really felt that way. I said he deserved the Ballon d’Or before, because the year before I thought he was the best, but the year I won it was not the best. I just said that’.

Rescuers recovered 21 bodies from the crash site on Monday and the last body was found on Tuesday morning.

It said that 10 bodies were brought to Kathmandu, while 11 bodies were taken to the base camp from where the rescue operation is being coordinated.

The plane had crashed at Thasang-2 in Mustang district at the height of 14,500 feet.

“All the passengers on the aircraft are found dead. The dead bodies are intact and the faces of all victims are recognisable,” said a rescue official.

As per the report, the aircraft met with an accident after hitting a cliff nearby.

The airline’s passengers list identified four Indians as Ashok Kumar Tripathy, his wife Vaibhavi Bandekar (Tripathy) and their children Dhanush and Ritika. The family was based in Thane city near Mumbai.

Pieces of the wreckage of the aircraft were found after nearly 20 hours since the plane went missing, the Nepal Army said on Monday.

Church accused of allowing ”infertile couple have intercourse” on the church altar for a child? – read

A church has reacted after a photo went viral, showing two people laying on each other on the church’s altar while a minister and several church members stretched out their hands towards them.

Reports circulating with the picture claimed the pair have been trying for a child for ten years without success and when they went to the church for help, the minister asked them to have sex on the altar, in the presence of members.

The church, located in Brazil, has now reacted.

The church said the photo was of two women, not a man and a woman.

They added that the woman had come with a sickness and she fainted during service.

As a result, after the preaching, a pastor called the sick woman and “did this prophetic act”.

The church said getting a female minister to lay on top of the sick woman was based on the Bible passage that saw Prophet Elisha lay on the body of a dead boy while praying to God to bring his spirit back to life.

Sidhu Moose Wala, Indian Rap Star, shot dead at 28

Authorities in India are investigating the murder of a popular Indian rapper after he was fatally shot just a day after his security cover was withdrawn.

Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, 28, better known by his stage name Sidhu Moose Wala, was killed on Sunday evening, May 29,  while driving his car in Mansa, a district in Punjab state, northern India.

Moose Wala was driving with two of his friends in an SUV to the village Jawahar Ke in Punjab, when they were attacked.

The rapper’s SUV was sprayed with bullets and he was found slumped on his seat and bleeding heavily. He was taken to hospital where he was declared dead.

Punjab police said that the attack seemed to be due to a gang-war. Police also said that a Canada-based gangster has claimed responsibility for the attack.

“Lawrence Bishnoi gang is involved in this murder. Lucky, member of the gang has taken responsibility from Canada,” Punjab DGP VK Bhawra told the media. He said the name of Moose Wala’s manager Shaganpreet had figured in the murder of one Vicky Middukhera last year.

This murder appeared to be in retaliation of Middukhera’s murder, the top police officer said.

Punjab Police has also formed a special investigation team to probe the incident.

The singer had faced criticism from several quarters for promoting gun culture in his songs. He had also been booked for allegedly promoting violence through his song ”Sanju”.

He was booked under the Arms Act and the Disaster Management Act in Barnala after photographs showing him firing an AK-47 rifle at a firing range during the COVID-19 lockdown appeared on social media.

The singer had joined Congress in December last year. In the 2022 Punjab Assembly elections, Sidhu Moose Wala had contested from Mansa on a Congress ticket. He was defeated by Aam Aadmi Party’s Dr Vijay Singla.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said that he was deeply shocked saddened by the news. “Deeply shocked and saddened by the murder of promising Congress leader and talented artist, Sidhu Moosewala. My heartfelt condolences to his loved ones and fans from across the world,” Mr Gandhi tweeted.

Congress leader Charan Singh Sapra said the state government and Chief Minister must come clean on what basis Moose Wala’s security cover was removed. “The government has to answer,” he told NDTV.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Sunday said that those involved in the attack on singer Sidhu Moose Wala won’t be spared. The Aam Aadmi Party leader also urged everyone to remain calm.

Monkeypox kills 1 in Nigeria; 9 deaths in Congo

Nine people have died of monkeypox in Congo in 2022 while Nigeria has recorded its first death from the disease this year, the countries’ health authorities said, even as at least 20 countries continue to grapple with sudden outbreaks not seen in years.

Dr. Aime Alongo, chief of the Sankuru health division in Congo, said Monday that 465 cases of the disease have been confirmed in the nation, making it one of the worst-hit in West and Central Africa, where the disease is endemic.

The persistence of the disease in Congo is due to the consumption of dead monkeys and rodents, Dr. Alongo said.

“The residents enter the forest, pick up the corpses of monkeys, bats and rodents which are the reservoirs of monkeypox,” the official added, urging those with monkeypox symptoms to visit a health center to isolate themselves.

Nigeria, meanwhile, recorded its first death from monkeypox this year in a patient with underlying medical conditions, the diseases control agency said Sunday.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention announced that in 2022 it has confirmed 21 out of 66 suspected cases of the disease, which is usually endemic in Nigeria and other parts of West and Central Africa.

“The death was reported in a 40-year-old patient who had underlying co-morbidity and was on immunosuppressive medications,” the Nigeria CDC said.

Nigeria has not had an outbreak of monkeypox since September 2017 but it continues to report sporadic cases. At least 247 have been confirmed in 22 of its 36 states since then with 3.6% fatality rate, the disease control agency said.

A spike in monkeypox cases reported in Europe and the U.S. has generated concerns among those countries, many of whom have not recorded a single case of the disease in years. Over 250 cases of the disease have been reported in more than 20 countries not usually known to have outbreaks, the World Health Organization said.

Monkeypox has not previously triggered widespread outbreaks beyond Africa, where it is endemic.

One of the new cases in the U.K. was recorded in a man days after his arrival from Nigeria on May 4. Nigeria has recorded six confirmed cases of the disease the British citizen left the country.

Dr. Ifedayo Adetifa, head of the country’s Center for Disease Control, told The Associated Press nothing shows that the British citizen contracted the disease in Nigeria and the country remains prepared to respond to an outbreak of monkeypox.

“The biggest challenge that you have with a disease such as monkeypox is that it is uncommon and the perceived risk by the population about how dangerous this condition is has been very low … that is why … we have conducted awareness training and advocacy training to increase the level of awareness of health care workers,” Adetifa said.

Elon Musk’s Starlink to provide internet services in Nigeria

Elon Musk, a business magnate, announced that Starlink, a satellite internet service he launched through SpaceX, will be providing internet services to two countries in Africa including Nigeria.

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) also confirmed this announcement, according to TechCabal. This follows a visit to Nigeria by the Starlink’s team in May last year to discuss the possibility of obtaining a licence.

SpaceX, Musk’s spacecraft engineering company, announced early in May that Starlink now operates in 32 countries.

Starlink will bring competition to the Nigerian market, taking on large telecoms like MTN and Airtel in a bid to bring stable internet connection to the country.

“The company received two licenses, which include the International Gateway license and Internet Service Provider (ISP) license, and will be trading as Starlink Internet Services Nigeria Ltd. According to NCC, the International Gateway license has a 10-year tenure while the ISP license is to last for five years. Both licenses take effect from May 2022 and may be renewed after the expiration,” NCC confirmed.

“As the regulator of a highly dynamic sector in Nigeria, the Commission is conscious of the need to ensure that our regulatory actions are anchored on national interest,” Executive Commissioner of Technical Services at NCC, Ubale Maska, told Nairametrics.

“We have listened to your presentation and we will review it vis-à-vis our regulatory direction of ensuring an effective and sustainable telecoms ecosystem where a licensee’s operational model does not dampen healthy competition among other licensees,” Maska said.

Maska added that the Commission was interested in making necessary regulatory efforts to drive the coverage of rural, unserved, and underserved areas of the country through the accomplishments of the targets contained in the Nigerian National Broadband Plan (NNBP) 2020 to 2025.

3 Nigerians nabbed in India for allegedly defrauding over 1,000 people on matrimonial site

Three Nigerian nationals were arrested for allegedly cheating over 1,000 people of several crores of rupees in the last eight years via matrimonial sites and social media platforms, Delhi Police said on Monday, May 30, 2022.

The accused have been identified as Paul Onyeji Atuh, Samuel Aniagor and Charles Pous Chukwuebuka.

The gang had been duping people from other Asian countries as well, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) Shweta Chauhan said.

The matter came to light after a resident of Central Delhi filed a complaint on the National Cyber Crime Portal stating that she had been duped of ? 55,900.

According to the complainant, she came in a touch with a person on a matrimonial site. He introduced himself as Ankit Verma and that he was a doctor based out of Canada. They exchanged phone numbers and started talking to each other on WhatsApp, Chauhan said.

On December 22 2021, the person told the complainant that he had arrived at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, but the customs officers had held him for carrying a huge amount of Canadian dollars.

“Then, a lady called the complainant from another mobile number and told her that Verma had been taken into custody at the airport and that they needed to pay ? 55,900 to get him released.

“The complainant transferred the money in two instalments to the bank account provided by the lady,” the DCP said.

“The lady further raised a demand for ? 1,50,000 saying the money was needed to obtain clearance from the Ministry of Finance. This is when the complainant sensed something fishy and refused to pay further,” Chauhan said.

During the investigation, the police found that a large number of transactions were done from the account to which the complainant had transferred the money, she said.

“Further, the money credited to these accounts were being transferred to other bank accounts or immediately withdrawn through ATMs. Various bank accounts were opened in the name of different persons to rotate the money.

“Details of banks accounts were collected from various banks. The teams collected the CCTV footage of ATMs from where the money was withdrawn. CDR analysis of mobile phones was also done,” the officer said.

During interrogation, the accused disclosed that they created fake profiles on various matrimonial sites and social media platforms to cheat people, Chauhan said.

The DCP said the accused used to win over their targets by telling them that they had either sent gifts or they were flying down for a meet.

“They also used to create dummy parcel tracking receipts. After three to four days, one of their gang members used to call the targets impersonating as a customs officer or an airport authority officer,” she said.

“The accused would then tell that there are dollars or pounds in the parcel and the person needed to pay custom duty and conversion charges to receive it. Once the amount was paid, they used to place some other demand for more money,” the officer explained.

One of the three accused had entered India illegally via the Bangladesh border in December 2020. Since then, he had been residing in Greater Noida and was arrested from there, she said.

Police said 25 bank accounts created in different banks under different names for the purpose had been traced.

Approximately, ? 4 lakh in these bank accounts was frozen. Besides, ? 2.02 lakh cash, 15 mobile phones, 20 SIM cards, two laptops and four dongles have been recovered from the accused.

UK Govt. offers work permits to graduates from world’s top universities, Africa excluded

The United Kingdom has said it will grant work visas to graduates from the world’s best universities in an expansion of its post-Brexit immigration system that is designed to attract the “best and brightest” workers.

Following its exit from the European Union, Britain has ended the priority given to EU citizens and had since introduced a points-based immigration system that ranks applicants on qualifications and language skills to the type of job offered to them, Euronews reports.

The new scheme was announced on Monday, May 30.

Graduates with a bachelor’s or master’s degree from the top 50 universities abroad can apply for a two-year work visa and will be allowed to bring family members with them.

Those who receive doctorates can apply for a three-year visa.

Successful applicants will then be able to switch to longer-term employment visas, the government said.

Britain’s finance minister, Rishi Sunak, said this would enable Britain to grow as an international hub for innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship.

“We want the businesses of tomorrow to be built here today – which is why I call on students to take advantage of this incredible opportunity to forge their careers here,” Sunak said.

Under the new scheme, applicants must have been awarded degrees no more than five years before the date of application.

Eligible universities must appear in the top 50 rankings of at least two of the following: the Times Higher Education world university rankings, the Academic Ranking of World Universities and the Quacquarelli Symonds world university rankings.

The most recent list of eligible universities from 2021, published online by the UK government, comprises more than two dozen U.S. universities, as well as institutions in Canada, Japan, Germany, China, Singapore, France and Sweden.

The government said candidates must pass a security and criminality check, and be able to speak, read, listen and write English to an intermediate level.

APC Party advised to disqualify Tinubu over alleged Age Falsification claims

The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential screening committee has been asked to disqualify the party’s national leader, Bola Tinubu, over “questionable educational qualifications”.

In a letter dated May 17th, 2022, one Sagir Mai Iyali, who identified himself as an APC member from Kano state, asked the party to disqualify Tinubu over alleged false documents the former Lagos state governor tendered to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in 1998.

John Oyegun, a former APC national chairman, is in charge of the screening committee, and the exercise is ongoing at the Transcorp Hilton in Abuja. The Cable reports that Iyali said although Tinubu is above the required age to contest the office of president, his age is not known, adding that obscurity surrounding the presidential hopeful could jeopardize the party’s chances at the polls.

Part of Iyali’s letter reads

“We understand that Bola Ahmed Tinubu who has since procured his expression of interest and nomination forms and has submitted the same to the party has certain issues that clearly amount to a similar disqualification scenario.

From the information contained in prior submissions to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), particularly in 1999, Mr. Tinubu presented a false claim, on oath, of his attendance at University of Chicago from 1972-1976.

It is clear now that these claims are false. Not only was this filed in the INEC form with a declaration on oath on December 20 1999, it was also contained in an affidavit of loss sworn to before the High Court of Lagos, Ikeja Registry, December 29th 1998.

The latter claim that seeks to transpose history is untenable. Mr. Tinubu has to show proof he attended University of Chicago or he must stand disqualified as the opposition is in possession of these same documents. Over the years, the identity of Asiwaju Bola Anmed Tinubu has been shrouded in secrecy.

In fact, no one can claim to know the identity of the man. Repeated efforts and demands by the general populace and the media to unravel the identity of Asiwaju Tinubu have all proved abortive and unsuccessful.

Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu rather chose and prefers an incognito lifestyle. Part of the man that has remained hidden is his educational background. Before now, so many reporters have launched discreet investigations to unravel the truth about the educational background of Asiwaju without success.

We therefore urge the screening committee to invoke the powers vested on it by the constitution and guidelines of the party to disqualify Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu from taking part in the APC primary election for the presidential election.”

Abdullahi Adamu, APC national chairman, and Mahmood Yakubu, INEC chairman, were copied in the letter, while Iyali attached copies of what appeared to be Tinubu’s nomination form and affidavit in respect of lost certificates as “evidence” to back up his claims.

‘Russia won’t use nukes in Ukraine’ – Russian official says

Russia will not use tactical nuclear weapons in the war against Ukraine, Russia’s ambassador to Britain has said

Russian president, Vladimir Putin put his nuclear forces on high alert in late February, soon after the invasion of Ukraine, an act which many military analysts saw as a warning of what was to come.

But since then nuclear weapons haven’t been used against Ukraine even as Putin tries to gain total control over the Donbas region of Ukraine

According to Andrei Kelin, Russia’s ambassador to the UK, Russia has a strict code and it’s military doesn’t use such weapons in conflicts like this.

'Russia won't use nukes in Ukraine' - Russian official says

Kelin said Russia’s use of nuclear weapons will only happen when “the state’s existence is threatened.”

“It has nothing to do with the current operation,” Kelin told BBC One’s Sunday Morning.

He also described allegations of war crimes in the Ukranian town of Bucha as “a fabrication” while calling UK Foreign Secretary Liz Truss “very belligerent” and inexperienced.

Boehly set out his consortium’s vision in a statement on Chelsea’s website, saying: “We are honoured to become the new custodians of Chelsea Football Club. We’re all in – 100 per cent – every minute of every match.

“Our vision as owners is clear: We want to make the fans proud. Along with our commitment to developing the youth squad and acquiring the best talent, our plan of action is to invest in the club for the long-term and build on Chelsea’s remarkable history of success.”

Russian-Israeli billionaire, Abramovich put Chelsea, which he purchased in 2003, up for sale on March 2, a week after Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine on February 24.

Los Angeles Dodgers co-owner Boehly is now Chelsea’s controlling owner despite California investment firm, Clearlake Capital assumed as the majority shareholder. A statement from the new owners said Boehly and Clearlake will “share joint control and equal governance of the club”, while “Boehly will serve as chairman of the holding company”.

Sad! Accountant suffering from depression commits suicide

An accountant at a telecommunications company in Lagos state, Folake Abiola, has allegedly committed suicide at her residence at Osapa London, in the Lekki area of Lagos State.

Punch reports that the 45-year-old killed herself by drinking an insecticide at her house last Friday, May 27th.

She was said to have died shortly after, and her family members, friends and men of the Nigeria Police Force met her lying motionless.

Confirming the incident, her colleague who spoke on condition of anonymity said Abiola had been suffering from depression for years, adding that the news of her death was shocking. The colleague said contrary to claims online that Abiola committed suicide due to loneliness, lack of a husband, among others, the colleague said her associates knew that she had been in romantic relationships, adding that she ended them due to depression.

“She had been suffering from depression for years and her death has nothing to do with loneliness or lack of a husband or sex. Within the last seven years, I know she was in a relationship twice.

She ended those relationships on her own because of depression. She said she did not want to bring someone else into her life when she could not take care of herself. She was going through extreme depression, but people that did not know what she was going through have been posting rubbish online.

She was a senior accountant at a telecoms firm and we are colleagues. She took her life herself and was buried that same Friday as she was the only Christian in her family.”the colleague said

The colleague described Abiola as an angel, a conscientious accountant, and a lover of Christ, who was liberal in giving, adding that she had been saying she wanted to end it all before she took her life. She said the deceased only recently celebrated her 45th birthday and was always keeping to herself.

Confirming the incident to newsmen, the spokesperson of the state police command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, said the police visited Abiola’s house and met her lifeless body on the floor.

“The moment the police in that area were alerted, they arrived at the scene and met the woman lifeless on the floor. A bottle of insecticide was also found on her, apparently, she had ingested that insecticide.

The family members that were there officially wrote to the divisional police officer requesting for the release of the corpse to enable them to bury her in accordance with Islamic rites and the corpse was released to the family on compassionate grounds.”he said

US Police swiftly arrest 10-year-old boy for threatening to shoot people in Florida

A 10-year-old fifth-grade boy has been arrested in Florida after he allegedly sent a text message threatening to commit Mass shooting.

The U.S. police arrested the juvenile suspect, a student at Patriot Elementary School in Cape Coral, Floridaand charged with making a written threat to conduct a mass shooting.

His identity can’t be revealed due to his age.

After he allegedly sent the threatening text, the School Threat Enforcement Team was immediately notified and began analytical research, police said.

The Youth Services Criminal Investigations Division assumed the case due to the age of the child. Police arrested the boy on Saturday, May 28 after detectives interviewed him and determined probable cause for his arrest.

His threatening text comes after the deadly mass shooting in Uvalde, Texas, in which 18-year-old gunman Salvador Ramos killed 19 children and two teachers.

“This student’s behavior is sickening, especially after the recent tragedy in Uvalde, Texas,” Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno said.

“Making sure our children are safe is paramount. We will have law and order in our schools! My team didn’t hesitate one second…NOT ONE SECOND, to investigate this threat.”

“Right now is not the time to act like a little delinquent,” Marceno also said.

“It’s not funny. This child made a fake threat, and now he’s experiencing real consequences.Coming out forcefully on social media against would-be killers.”

“You don’t get to shoot our children. You bring deadly force in this county, we are going to kill you.”  Marceno added

Russian Army loses 2 colonels in Ukraine raising high ranking deaths to 48

Russian president, Vladimir Putin has lost two more colonels including the country’s ‘best paratroop commander’ after they were killed in Russia’s war in Ukraine.

Lieutenant colonel Alexander Dosyagayev, 34, was a commander of an airborne assault battalion of the 104th paratrooper regiment.

Troops from his 104th air assault regiment were reportedly in Bucha, the scene of alleged rape and torture atrocities committed by Vladimir Putin’s forces earlier in the war. His battalion based in Pskov had been recognised as the best in Russia in its extensive combat training and military discipline.

At the military festival ‘Army of Russia-2021’, he was judged the winner of the Winged Infantry category.

‘I was filled with pride that my soldiers and officers showed the result they were striving for,’ he said.

‘This did not help him at a meeting with Ukrainian warriors,’ said a statement from the Kyiv armed forces.

Russian media outlet Mediazona confirmed the death of another colonel killed earlier in the war which has not been announced.

Col Vladimir Ivanov, 41, has been labelled a ‘propagandist’ by the Ukrainian media because he served in the Russian defence ministry’s department of Information and Mass Communication.

It is now established that he died in March.

A friend Yevgeny Poddubniy carried his portrait at a march of the ‘immortal Regiment’ on 9 May commemorating Russians killed in action in multiple conflicts.

Dosyagayev and Ivanov are the 47th and 48th colonels known to have died fighting for Russian forces in Ukraine. The toll of generals is now believed to be ten.

Buhari assures and admonishes other African countries

President Muhammadu Buhari has assured the international community that Nigeria won’t fail Africa with the 2023 general election.

The President said this at a bilateral meeting with Lazarus Chakwera, the President of Malawi on the sideline of the Extraordinary Summit of the African Union in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea.

The Nigerian leader who noted that African political leaders must respect the right of citizens to make their choices in elections, admitted that the path to democracy in African countries has not been a smooth one.

Buhari also urged the electorate to always go for merits and not religion or ethnicity. He said;

“We must convince the people that we respect them, and this is by allowing them to choose whoever they want.

“I had to openly disabuse the minds of our colleagues. We are a developing country, so we should not be demoralised.

“We have to go through these processes. We must trust these institutions to do what is right. Present the evidence. Don’t give up. Keep on pushing.

“So, I say go for merit. Don’t stand on ethnicity or such other divisive factors.”

He was jailed on Thursday, May 26, 2022, after pleading guilty to three-count amended charges bordering on cybercrime, upon being arraigned by the Kaduna Zonal Command of the EFCC.

One of the counts reads: “That you, Livinus Imoesi Oshioke alias Alexander Lutz, M, sometime in 2021 at Abuja within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, with intent to defraud, impersonated one Alexander Lutz; a white male living in Dubai, United Arab Emirates and claiming to be financially stranded when you falsely presented that your account domiciled in South Turin Bank with a balance of $3, 556,463.00 was blocked and that you needed help to pay the requisite fees to recover same which pretence you knew to be false and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 22(2)(b)(i) of Cybercrime (Prohibition, Prevention, Etc) Act, 2015”

The suspect pleaded guilty to the three-count charges when they were read to him.

Upon his guilty plea, prosecution counsel, Precious C. Onyeneho prayed the court to convict and sentence the defendant accordingly.

Justice Umar thereafter convicted and sentenced the defendant to six months imprisonment and ordered him to forfeit the following items to the Federal Government:  one Apple Macbook  Laptop, one black and silver Dell Laptop, and one Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max and one Mercedes Benz  SUV GLK 350 Model. Todd Boehly take over Chelsea Football club

Chelsea have confirmed the ‘final and definitive agreement’ has been reached for merican billionaire Todd Boehly to take over the club with the £4.25billion deal all set to be completed on Monday, May 30.

The announcement from Chelsea marks the official end to Roman Abramovich’s era and will see the Russian replaced as owner by Boehly and the Clearlake Capital group.

‘Chelsea Football Club can confirm that a final and definitive agreement was entered into last night to sell the Club to the Todd Boehly/Clearlake Capital consortium,’ Chelsea said in a statement.

‘It is expected that the transaction will be completed on Monday. The Club will update further at that time.’

Abramovich declared his pride at his successful tenure – signing off with a statement saying his ownership of Chelsea had been ‘an honour of a lifetime’.

‘It has been nearly three months since I announced my intention to sell Chelsea FC,’ he said. ‘During this time, the team have worked hard to find the right custodian for Chelsea FC that would be best positioned to successfully lead the Club into its next chapter.

‘The ownership of this Club comes with great responsibility. Since I came to Chelsea nearly twenty years ago, I have witnessed first-hand what this Club can achieve. My goal has been to ensure that the next owner has a mindset that will enable success for the Men’s and Women’s team, as well as the will and drive to continue developing other key aspects of the Club, such as the Academy and the vital work of Chelsea Foundation.

‘I am pleased this search has now come to a successful conclusion. As I hand over Chelsea to its new custodians, I would like to wish them the best of success, both on and off the pitch.

‘It has been an honour of a lifetime to be a part of this Club – I would like to thank all the Club’s past and current players, staff, and of course fans for these incredible years.

‘I am proud that as a result of our joint successes, millions of people will now benefit from the new charitable foundation which is being established. This is the legacy which we have created together. Thank you, Roman.’

The final hurdle in the takeover was cleared when the Portuguese government authorised Abramovich’s sale of the club earlier this week.

In a statement following Chelsea’s announcement, the club’s supporters’ trust said: ‘The Chelsea Supporters’ Trust would like to congratulate the consortium led by Todd Boehly on the takeover of Chelsea FC.

‘We wish you every success as the custodian of our club and look forward to a long, constructive and mutually beneficial relationship between you and Chelsea supporters.

‘The CST has been very encouraged by the interactions we have had with Mr Boehly and his team over recent months, but the hard work starts now.

‘It is now time to deliver both on and off the pitch in building a successful, inclusive and forward-thinking club with supporters at the forefront.’

Abramovich is selling the club in the wake of strict financial sanctions on him from the UK government, following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Aircraft with 22 passengers goes missing in Nepal in cloudy weather

A plane operated by a private airline in Nepal has gone missing with 22 people onboard.

The Tara Air plane took off from the tourist town of Pokhara, 80 miles (125km) west of the capital, Kathmandu, headed towards Jomsom, about 48 miles to the north-west, the officials said. Tara Air mainly flies Canadian-built Twin Otter turboprop planes.

Cloudy weather is preventing search helicopters from flying into the area of the flight’s last known location, officials have said.

“One search helicopter returned to Jomsom due to bad weather without locating the plane,” the Nepal’s civil aviation authority said in a statement.

“Helicopters are ready to take off for search from Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Jomsom once weather conditions improve. Army and police search teams have left towards the site.”

The airline said the plane was carrying four Indian people, two Germans, and 16 Nepalis, including three crew.

The plane lost contact with the control tower five minutes before it was due to land at Jomsom, a tourist and pilgrimage site, an airline official said on condition of anonymity.

The country’s weather office said there had been thick cloud cover in the Pokhara-Jomson area since the morning.

A police official, Prem Kumar Dani, said a land rescue-and-search team had been sent to the area near Mount Dhaulagiri, the world’s seventh highest peak at 8,167 metres (26,795 ft).

Russian Politicians demand ‘immediate withdrawal’ from Ukraine

Russian politicians are now demanding an ‘immediate withdrawal’ from Ukraine as 1115 soldiers are fired for refusing to take part in the invasion

Communist deputy Leonid Vasyukevich, 69, a veteran Russian legislator recently issued an appeal to Vladimir Putin to stop military action, bring his troops home, and end the war in Ukraine.

He condemned the use of Moscow’s servicemen in Ukraine, as a Russian court dismissed more than 115 national guardsmen in the first case of soldiers refusing to fight in Ukraine as politicians demanded the army return home.

Members of the National Guard of the Russian Federation, a separate military branch from the Russian army refused to carry out an assignment related to Moscow’s ‘special operation’ in Ukraine.

A military court in Russia’s southern republic of Kabardino-Balkaria found that the defendants ‘arbitrarily refused to perform an official assignment’ and turned down their appeal.

The hearing was held behind closed doors to avoid revealing ‘military secrets,’ according to the Moscow Times.

The veteran local MP told legislators in the Primorsky region that he and his fellow lawmakers were making an appeal to the Russian president.

Putin’s supporters have branded him a ‘traitor’ and he may now face legal action for dishonouring the Russian army.

‘We are backing measures to support families of servicemen killed during the special military operation,’ he told the regional legislator in Vladivostok, Russia’s Pacific capital.

‘We understand that unless our country stops the special military operation, there will be even more orphans.

‘Young men die and are maimed during the operation, even though they could have benefited our country.’

Three months have passed since the start of the war ‘and it is clearly impossible to reach success by a military way’, he said, amid interruptions from the assembly.

If Putin continues his war, it ‘will inevitably lead to an increase in the numbers of killed and wounded servicemen.

‘We demand the immediate withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukraine…’

Throughout his brave speech – the loyalist chairman of the parliament Alexander Rolik tried to halt his outburst.

‘I am warning you…You are abusing the agenda’, he was told. ‘You are violating the order to speak without permission.’

Governor Oleg Kozhemyako accused him and his supporters of defaming the Russian army, and demanded he should be removed from the assembly.

‘These actions discredit the Russian army and our defenders who stand in the fight against Nazism. A traitor,’ stormed the angry governor.

World’s oldest man, @113, shares secrets to long life

The world’s oldest man has revealed the habits he keeps that he believes helped him to live up to 113.

Juan Vicente Perez Mora, from Venezuela, was born before World War Two on 27 May, 1909.

He went on to marry Ediofina del Rosario García who died in 1997 after six decades. Together, they had 11 children, 41 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

Perez Mora credits his long life to four factors: praying twice a day, working hard, getting into bed early, and drinking a cup of aguardiente, an anise-flavoured liquor.

Apart from a slightly elevated blood pressure and deteriorated sense of hearing, Perez Mora is otherwise in very good health, and likely has a few more years yet, his physician Enrique Guzman said.

Mora’s doctor said: “He seems totally fine to me. He has a good heart. He does have changes due to his age, but he does not require long-term intervention or treatment.

Juan Vicente Perez Mora

“I consider that with his activity, with his hygiene and with his diet, he is a person who I think will live to see more years.”

Daughter Nelyda Perez said: “My dad is in very good health. He does not suffer from any disease that requires medical treatment.

“The next day after resting, he says he wakes up very well. The whole family is very grateful for my daddy’s health.”

Perez Mora, one of 10 children, was born in the town of El Cobre in Tachira, but his family soon moved to the village of Los Pajuiles, San Jose de Bolivar.

When he was barely five years old, he joined his brothers and dad to work on a farm where they harvested sugar cane and coffee.

He did not attend school until he was 10, only to stop five months after when his teacher fell ill, according to Guinness World Records.

But he was gifted a book with which he taught himself how to read and write.

The great-great grandfather went on to work as a sheriff in the town of Caricuena for 10 years, becoming Venezuela’s first male supercentenarian when he celebrated his 110th birthday in 2019.

He became the world’s oldest person after Saturnino de la Fuenta Garcia – who was born on 11 February, 1909, in Spain – died at the age of 112 years and 341 days in January.

INEC extends primaries’ deadline by 6 days

The Independent National Electoral Commission on Friday May 27, extended the June 3 deadline for the conduct of primary elections by political parties by 6 days.

This was conveyed in a statement released by INEC Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye, after a meeting with the leadership of the 18 registered political parties under the aegis of the Inter-Party Advisory Council in Abuja.

Okoye said the extension was granted in respect of outstanding primaries only and not those already concluded.

The statement reads in full;

The Independent National Electoral Commission met with the leadership of political parties today Friday, May 27, 2022. Once again, the political parties requested the commission to review the timelines for political party primaries provided in the timetable and schedule of activities for the conduct of the 2023 general election released on Saturday, February 26.2022.

Earlier, the political parties had requested for 37 – 60 days extension of the timeline for primaries and the nomination of candidates. The commission was emphatic that this request could not be granted because it would disrupt other scheduled activities on the timetable. This position of the commission has not changed.

However, based on the timetable and schedule of activities for the 2023 general election, the parties have now pleaded with the commission to use the six-day period between June 4-9 2022 to conclude outstanding primaries and prepare to upload the list of candidates and their affidavits on the INEC candidates nomination portal.

The commission did not schedule any specific activity during this period. The idea is to simply give parties time to compile the list and personal particulars of their nominated candidates before uploading same to the INEC candidates nomination portal from June 10-17 2022.

The commission has decided to allow the request of the political parties since the six-day period does not conflict with the next scheduled activity which is the submission of the list of nominated candidates or any of the subsequent timelines which remain sacrosanct. However, this request is granted in respect of outstanding primaries only without prejudice to those already concluded by political parties. The commission will not monitor already concluded primaries.”

After the conduct of primaries, the next critical activity for political parties is the online submission of the list of the candidates the party proposes to sponsor which shall be accompanied by an affidavit sworn to by the candidates indicating that they fulfilled all the constitutional requirements for election into the various offices via the INEC candidates nomination portal.

In addition, the commission, based on past experience, has decided to train the political party officials to make efficient and effective use of the portal. The commission will train four officials from each of the 18 political parties, making a total of 72 in all.

Unfortunately, some of the political parties are still yet to submit their nominees for the training. The commission hereby reminds such parties to do so immediately. The commission wishes to reiterate that only electronically submitted nominations will be processed.

Political parties are therefore advised to ensure that their primaries are free of rancour in order to meet the timelines for the remaining activities embodied in the timetable and schedule of activities for the 2023 general election.

US Govt. seizes $3M mansion belonging to Yahya Jammeh, ex. Gambian Dictator

A court in the United States has ruled that the $3million mansion in Maryland, near Washington DC, said to belong to former Gambian president, Yahya Jammeh, should be seized from a trust set up by him.

Funds raised by the sale of the house should benefit those who were harmed by the former president’s “acts of corruption and abuse of office”, the US authorities say.

In a statement, the US Department of Justice announced that it had seized the $3.5 million property, which had been acquired with alleged proceeds from corruption.

The six-bedroom house, located in the state of Maryland, was purchased through a trust set up by Jammeh’s wife, Zineb Jammeh, the statement said.

The statement reads: “Yahya Jammeh corruptly obtained millions of dollars through the misappropriation of stolen public funds and the solicitation of bribes from businesses seeking to obtain monopoly rights over various sectors of the Gambian economy.

“Jammeh conspired with his family members and close associates to utilise a host of shell companies and overseas trusts to launder his alleged corrupt proceeds throughout the world.”

Selwyn Smith, one of the agents overseeing the case, said: “Maryland real estate is not a shelter for funds for corrupt rulers who have stolen from their countrymen.”

Jammeh’s 22-year presidency, which ended in 2017, was notorious for corruption and he also faced allegations of extensive human rights abuses including killing and jailing his critics.

More details have since emerged at Gambia’s Truth, Reconciliation and Reparations Commission, which this week recommended that he be prosecuted for “myriad crimes”.

Peter Obi joins Labour party after leaving PDP

Former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, has formally joined the Labour Party days after resigning his membership from the Peoples Democratic Party.

He disclosed his latest move in a statement released on social media this evening. Read below…

“I thank all Nigerians, especially our youths who have joined me in the mission of taking back and reuniting Nigeria. This project is yours and for the future of your children. I am just a facilitator.

Since I resigned from the PDP because of issues that are at variance with my persona and principles, I have consulted widely with various parties and personalities to ensure we do not complicate the route to our desired destination.

For me, the process of achieving our goal is as fundamental as what one will do thereafter.

Therefore, I have chosen a route that I consider to be in line with our aspirations and my mantra of taking the country from consumption to production; and that is the Labour Party which is synonymous with the people, workers, development, production, securing and uniting Nigerians as one family. I invite all Nigerians to join me in taking back our country. Be assured that I’ll never let you down.”

US Govt may approve advanced long-range rocket systems for Ukraine

The US is preparing to send advanced, long-range rocket systems that can change the trajectory of the war against Russia , new reports say.

The Biden administration is reportedly planning to send the weapons systems as part of a larger package of military and security assistance to Ukraine, which could be announced as soon as next week.

A Friday, May 27 report by CNN says top Ukrainian officials, including President Volodymyr Zelensky, have recently begged the US and its allies to provide the Multiple Launch Rocket System, or MLRS.

The MLRS is a US-made weapon systems that can fire a barrage of rockets hundreds of kilometers — much farther than any of the systems Ukraine already has.

The report adds that another system Ukraine has asked for is the High Mobility Artillery Rocket System, known as HIMARS, a lighter wheeled system capable of firing many of the same types of ammunition as MLRS.

The MLRS and its lighter-weight version, the HIMARS, can launch as far as 300km, or 186 miles, depending on the type of munition.

Russia has in recent weeks used the long range systems to attack Ukraine in the east, where Ukraine is outmanned and outgunned, Ukrainian officials have said but receiving any of the above named weapons would be a ‘game changer’s for Ukraine, Ukranian officials have said.

The US in the past has refused sending long range weapons and war planes to Ukraine, amid concerns raised within the National Security Council that Ukraine could use the systems to carry out offensive attacks inside Russia, officials said.

The report says the US fears that sending heavy weaponry to Ukraine will be viewed by Russia as a provocation that could trigger some kind of retaliation against the US.

Russian officials have said publicly that any threat to their homeland would constitute a major escalation and have said that western countries are making themselves a legitimate target in the war by continuing to arm the Ukrainians.

Ukraine is already believed to have carried out numerous cross-border strikes inside Russia, which Ukrainian officials neither confirm nor deny.

Asked this week whether the US would provide the long range weapons systems to Ukraine, Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin replied. “I don’t want to get ahead of where we are in the process of resourcing requirements,”

The report adds that the UK is also still deciding whether to send the systems, but would like to do so in conjunction with the US.

The report adds that as recently as this week, the Pentagon had told Ukraine “we are working on it,” said one irritated Ukrainian official, who added that Ukraine is asking for an update on the decision “every hour.”

“We are in great need of weapons that will make it possible to engage the enemy over a long distance,” Ukraine’s top military commander, General Valeriy Zaluzhnyi, said Thursday, May 26.

“And this cannot be delayed, because the price of delay is measured by the lives of people who have protected the world from [Russian fascism].”
