Testimony time: Nigerian woman gives birth to triplets after 11 years of marriage

A Nigerian woman, Mrs. Samuel Bhiologialoaziba Regina, a native of Onuebum community in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State has given birth to a set of triplets after eleven years of marriage. 

Mrs Regina gave birth to two boys and one girl at the Federal Medical Centre, Yenagoa on arrived on March 3, 2021.

Speaking to newsmen on Tuesday, March 9, she thanked God for blessing her with three children after eleven years of waiting for a child.

She advised other women looking for the fruit of the womb to be encouraged and depend on the Lord alone and remain steadfast in faith as God who did it for her will also do for them.

Father of the triplets, Mr. Samuel Iloegbunam Collins, also thanked God for the children, saying that steadfastness in faith and service to God brought them the blessing. He urged other couples to keep trusting God and remain steadfast in faith.

According to a Friday report from PageSix, the 51-year-old singer and the 45-year-old former Yankees baseball player have gone their separate ways. 

This comes a month after the duo were spotted looking happy in late February in the Dominican Republic as she was shooting  her film Shotgun Wedding with Josh Duhamel.

‘He’s now in Miami getting ready for baseball season, and she’s filming her movie in the Dominican Republic,’ a source told the site and insists they have broken up.

He was seen alone in Miami on a yacht on Friday. ‘Don’t mind me, just taking a sail-fie… What are your plans for the weekend?’ he wrote in a caption to his Instagram post.

The pair, who both started dating in 2017 after meeting a decade prior when she was married to Marc Anthony, got engaged in 2019 on the beach when he surprised her with a large diamond ring.

Ex. Governor of Plateau state, Joshua Dariye sentenced 10 years in jail

The 10-year jail term handed to former governor of Plateau State, Joshua Dariye after being convicted for criminal misappropriation and criminal breach of trust, was on Friday March 12 affirmed by the Supreme Court. 

Dariye who was convicted for reportedly looting N2billion public funds during his time as Plateau State governor between 1999 and 2007, had been elected as the senator representing Plateau Central in the Nigerian Senate in 2015. He was however sentenced in June 2018 but still completed his tenure as a senator from jail in June 2019.

A federal high court in Abuja had on June 12, 2018 convicted Mr Dariye and originally sentenced him to 14 years’ imprisonment on charges of criminal breach of trust and two years’ jail term for criminal misappropriation.

But following his appeal against the judgment, the Court of Appeal in Abuja on November 16, 2018, commuted the 14 years’ jail term to 10. The former governor had further appealed to the Supreme Court.

The five-man panel of the Supremecourt headed by Mary Odili on Friday, however upheld the ex-governor’s conviction in respect of criminal breach of trust which attracted the 10-year jail term. 

His conviction for criminal misappropriation was quashed, but it had no impact on his overall number of years of imprisonment as it attracted two years’ imprisonment.

Kanye West cuts off contact with Kim Kardashian, his cellphone numbers changed

American rapper, Kanye West has reportedly ‘cut off’ his ex-wife Kim Kardashian and is making her go through his security as he has changed his phone numbers.


The 44-year-old rapper, who is Bipolar allegedly blocked Kim, 40,  before she officially announced their split, according to a report by Page Six.


According to Page Six, a source told the outlet: “Even before Kim filed for divorce, Kanye changed his numbers and said, ‘You can contact me through my security’.”


The insider said that despite the carnage of the split, Kanye is still regularly seeing his children.


The source continued: “Despite this, she trusts him around the kids. He loves them and is seeing a lot of them.


“She leaves the house and he arrives and hangs out with the kids. They have an army of nannies so the transition is easy.”


After months of speculation that their marriage was over, Kim filed for divorce in February after hiring celebrity divorce lawyer Laura Wasser.


She is asking for joint legal and physical custody of their four children.


They both have a combined $2.1billion fortune, and sharing it won’t be hard thanks to a pre-nup agreement they both signed in 2014 before getting married.


The report comes after Kim was seen crying during a new teaser trailer taken from the final series of Keeping Up With The Kardashians reality show.

South Africa: Zulu King, Goodwill Zwelithini is dead at the age of 72

Zulu King, Goodwill Zwelithini is dead at the age of 72 after spending days in a hospital in his home country of South Africa. 

The monarch was admitted in a hospital in KwaZulu-Natal last week to monitor his diabetic condition. 

The controversial but revered king of South Africa’s largest ethnic group Zulu, however died on Friday March 12. The king wielded great influence among millions of Zulus through his largely ceremonial and spiritual role despite having no official power in modern South Africa.

The palace said a statement signed by Mangosuthu Buthelezi, a powerful veteran politician who is also a Zulu prince; 

“It is with the utmost grief that I inform the nation of the passing of His Majesty King Goodwill Zwelithini … King of the Zulu nation.

“Tragically, while still in hospital, His Majesty’s health took a turn for the worse and he subsequently passed away in the early hours of this morning.”

Goodwill Zwelithini was named successor to the throne at the age of 20 following his father’s death in 1968. He wasn’t crowned until 1971 because he went into hiding after receiving death threats.

Former Juventus President, Giovanni Gigli, has opined that signing Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid, was an expensive mistake and the Italian club should be looking to “free Cristiano Ronaldo at the end of the season”.


Juventus put a stunning deal with Real Madrid in place during the summer of 2018, to sign Ronaldo, a five-time Ballon d’Or winner. Though the club at first reaped financial rewards from his signing, however, the covid-19 pandemic has thrown the club into a financial quagmire.


Ronaldo has scored very important goals and broken records while at Juventus but aged 36 he has not delivered Champions League glory to Turin.


The Portugal international has taken in 121 appearances for Juve, with 92 goals recorded across those outings.

He has 27 goals this season already but following elimination from the champions league this week, questions are now being asked about Ronaldo’s signing.


When asked if Ronaldo was the wrong choice for Juve, Gigli told Radio Punto Nuovo  


“Absolutely, yes! I said that on his very first day at Juventus. He is a great champion but is too expensive.


“Now it’s up to Juventus. They’ve been paying him €1m per goal. [Juve president Andrea] Agnelli must be self-critical, but he doesn’t have great collaborators.


He added: “The club should free Ronaldo at the end of the season and the same goes for [Fabio] Paratici. He’s an expensive mistake. Maybe Agnelli had promoted him to remove him from his position afterwards. This could be the scenario.”

A man who said ‘covid19 is a scam’ is currently fighting for his life after coronavirus infection

A man who denied the severity of the coronavirus is now fighting for his life after he contracted the deadly virus.

Paul Russell was a conspiracy theorist who thought the virus was a ploy and would “disappear the day after the election”.

The long-distance truck driver changed his opinion when he was down with the virus.

While he survived the virus, it has severely damaged his body, perhaps permanently. He also can’t work.

“I’m gonna be on oxygen the rest of my life, according to my doctor,” he said.

Paul admits that he was wrong about coronavirus: “Before I came down with the virus, I was one of those jackasses who thought the virus would disappear the day after the election. I was one of those conspiracy theorists.”

But that all changed in November last year when he was on a run from Florida back home to Boise, Idaho, via Texas.

“I didn’t know if I was infected with Covid or what,” he told the Idaho Statesman. “My buddy was about an hour behind me. He caught up with me in Twin Falls. … He told me I didn’t look very good at all.”

By the time he was admitted to St. Luke’s Health System hospital, it was touch and go. He says that at one point he believed he was visited by his dead father.

At one point during his two-week intensive care ordeal, a nurse called his wife for him and put her on speaker phone. She told him how much she loved him.

“Because she didn’t know if I was gonna make it through the night,” he said.

“That was the night I got the visit from my dad,” he added. “My dad’s been gone for about three years.”

Paul said he believed former US President, Donald Trump, when he told a rally in Lumberton, North Carolina, on October 24th that, “By the way, on November 4, you won’t hear about [Covid-19] anymore.”

Having learnt his lesson, Paul warned sceptics, saying: “All these people that are saying that it’s fake, blah blah blah, they’re lying to themselves.”

Though Paul, 63, survived with help from an experimental treatment, he fears he may never fully recover.

He said: “Covid gave me a foggy memory, it gave me…I occasionally have speech problems.”

Scans of Paul’s lungs show severe scarring. Paul says he also suffers from constant pain in several different parts of his body. He also has dizzy spells and his heart races when he gets up to do anything.

Ghana: Beautiful lady dies after been beaten to death by her ‘would-be husband’

A 31-year-old woman identified as Yesutor Elizabeth Akpalu, has died after she was allegedly assaulted by her fiancé in Ghana.

It was gathered that the deceased, a 300 level student of the Evangelical Presbyterian University College, was rushed to the Ho Teaching Hospital by her friends on Sunday, March 7, after she complained of severe pain in the chest, ribs and neck. She died in the early hours of Monday, March 8.

According to the Volta Regional Police Commander, DCOP Oduro Kwateng, the victim had complained to her friends about being physically assaulted by her boyfriend, Phillip Ceasar, said to be the Deputy Director of Youth Employment Agency (YEA) at Akatsi North.

Medical reports sighted by journalists allegedly indicates that the deceased had injuries on her left shoulder as well as swollen eyes as a result of the assault. 

Her friends alleged the suspect has been assaulting the deceased for a long time but she refused to report to the police because her wedding was pending and she did not want to ruin her relationship.

Further investigation by Ghanaian Times revealed that the suspect allegedly tortured the deceased in December 2020 and again in February 2021.

Kwateng confirmed that the suspect was arrested by the Ave-Dapka police on Tuesday, March 9. He was later moved to the Volta Regional Headquarters in Ho, where he is in custody while further investigations are ongoing.

“The suspect is in police custody and we have begun investigations into the matter.” he added. 

Also confirming the incident, spokesperson of the Volta Region Police, Prince Dogbatse, said he said the got a call from the Ho Teaching Hospital about the case.  

“The Volta Region Police Command has initiated investigations into the incident. Currently, bits and pieces of information that we have picked from the students and some other individuals suggest that the deceased suffered from assault from her boyfriend,” Dogbatse stated.

“We have picked that boyfriend and he is in our custody assisting in investigations. As is normal with death, we are waiting for the pathologist’s report.” he added.

South African teenager girl kills a rapist with his own gun

A 15 year-old teenager shot dead the man who raped her in Wedela, Carletonville, South Africa. 

Captain Eddie Boboko, the SAPS Spokesperson for the cluster, who confirmed the incident on Monday, March 8, said the girl was accosted by a man on Saturday night, and was forced into an area of bush where she and her male friend were robbed at gunpoint before the assailant raped her.

“The young girl who had been forced into the bush at gun point by the suspect was ordered to undress. The man also undressed and proceeded to rape her,” said Captain Boboko. 

The girl saw an opportunity when she spotted her rapist’s firearm, seemingly on the ground, grabbed it and shot him in the head with it.

The Wedela SAPS have opened a case of rape and an inquest docket. “The deceased has not yet been identified,” Boboko told the Merafong Observer.

The young girl will also receive counseling for the trauma she has experienced.

Nicole Young, Dr.Dre’s estranged wife denied a restraining order against him

Dr.Dre’s estranged wife, Nicole Young has reportedly been denied a restraining order against the music mogul after he called her ‘greedy’ in a song that prompted her to fear for her safety amid their ongoing divorce. 


Young, 51, requested the emergency domestic violence restraining order against her ex, 56, after he released a song last month in which he referred to her as a ‘greedy b*tch’ and a ‘perjurer’, according to TMZ.


Young claims that she’s concerned for her safety after the release of the song, and alleges ‘he has upped the ante and is now outright threatening me to keep my mouth shut or else.’

In the snippet, the hip-pop mogul referenced his recent stay at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center after suffering a brain aneurysm and his wife’s monetary demands in their ongoing divorce proceedings.

Despite Young believing the new song and her previous allegations of spousal support warranted the order, the judge ultimately denied her request to grant her a restraining order against the music mogul due to ‘insufficient evidence.’


Responding to her allegations, Dre insisted the only time he had seen Young since the divorce filing was when she visited him in the hospital following his brain aneurysm in January 2021.

Dre also insisted that he has had no contact with her, and has denied all her allegations of abuse.


In October 2020, Dre accused his wife of criminal conduct in ’embezzling’ more than $350,000 from one of their bank accounts after she  filed for divorce in June last year,


In January 2021,  Dre agreed to pay Nicole $2 million in temporal spousal support while he was still at the hospital recovering following his hospitalization for a brain aneurysm.


Before then, he had also been paying Nicole $293,000 a month in support, but she is asking the court to force him to pay her almost $2million a month, plus another $5million for attorney fees.


Dre and Young have two children together, daughter Truly, 20, and 24-year-old son Truice.

Nigeria puts new petrol pump price at N212.61 per litre

Eleven days after the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) released a statement saying that there will be no increase in petrol pump price in March, the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency, PPPRA, has fixed the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, also known as petrol, at N212.61 per litre, for the month of March.

According to the PPPRA’s PMS guiding price released to stakeholders, the N212.61 price is supposed to commence from March 1st and run till March 31st, 2021.

However, indications in the oil sector suggest that the Federal government through the NNPC has resumed subsidizing the product as it is still been sold at an average of N170 in petrol stations across the country

NNPC is said to be spending an average of N42 to subsidise a litre of the commodity for Nigerians. The PPPRA confirmed that fuel subsidy actually officially returned in February 2021, as according to the downstream oil sector regulator, the actual pump price of PMS for February was between N183.74 and N186.74 per litre, meaning that the Federal Government paid an average of N16 per litre for PMS in the month. However, in January 2021, the PPPRA disclosed that the price of the commodity was between N163.36 per litre and N166.36 per litre.


According to the PPPRA, based on the average cost for the period, February 1st to 28th 2021, and an average FMDQ Importer and Exporter (I&E) Naira/US Dollar Exchange Rate of N403.80, the expected retail price of PMS for March 2021, stands at N209.61 per litre and N212.61 per litre, being the lower and upper band respectively.
 

On February 28, NNPC released a statement through its spokesperson, Kenneth Obateru, assuring Nigerians that there would be no increase in pump price.

“Contrary to speculations of an imminent increase in the price of PMS in the country, the NNPC has ruled out any increment in the ex-depot price of petrol in March”, he noted.

A White teacher has been accused of forcing a 5-year-old black child to wash a toilet with his bare hands. 

The teacher has been identified as Karla Lasiter and it was gathered that the incident occurred on Friday March 5, at Crystal Hill Elementary, North Little Rock in US state of Arkansas.

Mother of the 5-year-old boy, Ashley Murry said she was horrified when he told her what happened at school. She also disclosed that she has pulled her son out of the classroom and enlisted the help of her mother Tami Murry.

Ashley said;

“It’s degrading for a child so I don’t feel like any child should have to go through this. 

“They basically made him go in the toilet and get his feces and the dirty tissue out of the toilet.”

Tami Murry on the other hand said; 

“You want a child to put their hand in there physically and clean out the commode- no no no no no. He’s not a janitor, he’s not a custodian, he’s not maintenance, no, not at all.

Ashley also disclosed that the teacher told the principal that she was trying to teach how not to “stop” up the toilet. 

She said; 

“She got on the phone with me and she said she didn’t have an explanation, she just knew she was wrong. But she stated to the principal that she was trying to teach how not to stop up the toilet.

“She needs to be terminated because you don’t treat kids like this. He is a kid.”

While Pulaski County Special School District told KATV they are actively investigating the situation, it was also learnt that the teacher has been placed on administrative leave.

The Duke of Cambridge is the first royal to personally respond to the allegation.

During his first royal engagement since the Oprah interview, William was asked about the allegation of racism and he denied it.

William was visiting School2 in east London today, March 11, to promote a children’s mental health programme, when he was asked by Sky News reporter Inzamam Rashid, “Is the Royal Family a racist family?”

“We’re very much not a racist family,” Prince William replied.

Ridwan Oyekola, Nigerian WBF boxing champion, attacked by unknown persons shortly after he received N10m cheque from Governor Makinde

The current World Boxing Federation, WBF, International Super Featherweight Champion, Ridwan Oyekola popularly known as Scorpion, has survived an alleged attempt on his life by unknown gunmen.

It was gathered that the Oyekola was attacked by the gunmen shortly after receiving a cheque of 10 million from the Oyo state governor, Seyi Makinde at the state Secretariat on Thursday evening, March 4.

Oyekola had defeated his counterpart from Argentina, Lucas Montesino at Ilaji Sports Resorts, Ibadan in December 2020 and he was decorated as the World Boxing Federation (WBF) International Super Featherweight Champion. Governor Makinde had presented the check to Oyekola for making the State proud with his victory over his Argentine counterpart.

Narrating his experience, Oyekola said that it was the grace of God that made him escape death with two other occupants in his car. 

“As we left the government secretariat, the venue of cheque presentation, I wanted to drop a friend that accompanied me to the event at Mokola, I just saw a vehicle and it accosted us along NTA to Total garden area, and the two men were pointing guns at us to stop,” the boxing champ narrated. 


“I was shocked and swerved the car to escape them but fell into a ditch. The assailants drove off after noticing that the car had fallen off from the road.” he added. 

Oyekola was with another boxer, Habeeb ‘Ige’ Oladeji the national bantamweight title holder and a friend Adesina Sheriff in the vehicle during the attack but none sustained serious injury except Ridwan who suffered shock. 


Confirming the incident, Oyekola’s manager and promoter; Sola Ayodele, called on the government to provide adequate security for the boxer, saying the assailants might still be on his trail.

Man caught pants down with another girl on his girlfriend’s bed(video)

An unidentified man has been caught red-handed sleeping with another woman in his girlfriend’s house. 

In the video recorded live on Facebook, the man and the lady he was sleeping with were seen wearing their outfits as his girlfriend spoke in the background. 

The distraught lady was heard saying that why she didn’t attack the woman she caught with her boyfriend was because she doesn’t know her. She also made remarks of them having sex on the floor with her blanket. 

She ended up throwing them out of the house she revealed was her old apartment. Watch the video below;

Man was sentenced for ‘raping’ pony few years he was prosecuted for raping another horse

A man caught having sex with a horse for the second time has pleaded guilty.

Isaac Cluley, 23, was convicted of bestiality charges at Leicester Crown Court on Wednesday, March 10. This comes 4 years after he had sex with a different horse.

The court heard Cluley was prosecuted in 2016 for an earlier offence of having sex with a horse, Leicester Live reports, leaving the judge asking if he has an overpowering sexual interest in horses.

His latest sexual offence left a family’s pet shetland pony scared and defensive.

Cluley pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing to one count of sexual penetration of a living animal last August and admitted possessing extreme pornography, including mobile phone footage of the pony.

Recorder William Edis QC said: “For the second time in your life you’re before the court for having sexual intercourse with a horse and that – if I say no more – is an alarming picture.

“One thing I have to do as the judge is to try and work out why you’ve committed this unusual offence twice.

“Is it because you have overpowering sexual interest in horses?

“Is it a cry or help or attention seeking?”

Andrew Fitch-Holland, prosecuting, said a friend of the defendant’s stumbled upon the video on his phone when he used it to call his mum.

The horse’s owner attended court to read a personal impact statement.

She told the judge: “The fact someone was walking around and prepared to rape an animal on more than one occasion concerns me greatly.”

The 44-year-old owner added: “I feel anxious because I don’t know how many times it’s happened.”

After the hearing, she said: “The pony was such a sweetie, so trusting, but is now wary and defensive.

“When she becomes scared and fearful – even by something normal like having a rug put on – it reminds me of what happened.

“If it was down to me he would be in custody now.

“I can only hope whatever his rehabilitation involves, that it works.

“I can’t forgive what he did to a harmless animal, I’ve not heard anything to explain why he’s done it and he’s shown no remorse.”

Cluley, described as having learning difficulties, was in “considerable distress” following his arrest and officers were concerned for his wellbeing.

Ivory Coast Prime Minister, Hamed Bakayoko dies in Germany of cancer

Prime Minister of Ivory Coast, Hamed Bakayoko has died in a hospital in Germany. 

Bakayoko died on Wednesday March 10 of cancer in the German city of Freiburg, where he was receiving medical treatment. His death came two days after his 56th birthday and eight months after his predecessor also passed on. 

President Alassane Ouattara described Mr Bakayoko as a “great statesman, an example to young people and a man of exemplary loyalty”. He said in a statement; 

“Our country is in mourning. I have the immense sorrow to announce the death of the Prime Minister, Hamed Bakayoko, Head of Government, Minister of Defense, this Wednesday March 10, 2021, in Germany, as a result of cancer.

“I pay tribute to the Prime Minister, Hamed Bakayoko, my son and close collaborator, too soon torn from our affection.”

Mr Bakayoko was flown to France in February for medical tests and was later transferred to Germany due to his deteriorating health.

A former media executive who turned to politics, he played a prominent mediation role in Ivory Coast’s civil war during the first decade of the century. 

“He was a key player in the political game and a major player in reconciliation. It’s a true shame,” Issiaka Sangare, spokesman for the opposition Ivorian Popular Front told AFP news agency.

Aside from his role as prime minister, Mr Bakayoko was also the country’s defence minister. Patrick Achi has been appointed as interim prime minister, while Tene Birahima Ouattara, a younger brother of the president has been named interim defence minister.

“I actually fell pregnant during a foursome – we were filming with two of my girlfriends and my partner.

“I sent them a text the day I found out and they think they’re lucky charms.”

She added: “I was told I could get pregnant in each side at the same time, or about three weeks apart – it takes about three weeks for your body to register that you’re pregnant in one uterus.

Meghan Markle’s half-sister refutes her claims of “growing up as an only child” releases family photo

In an apparent dig at Meghan Markle who claimed during her interview with Oprah Winfrey that she “grew up as an only child” and wished she had siblings, Meghan’s half-sister has released a never-before-seen family photo of the Duchess of Sussex.

Though Meghan has half-siblings, she’s the only child her father had with her mother.

Her half-sister, Samantha Markle has constantly criticized Meghan and even wrote a tell-all book on their difficult childhood.

Samantha published The Diary of Princess Pushy’s Sister, which took aim at the Duchess of Sussex.

During the interview with Oprah Winfrey, Meghan was asked about her sister’s claims in the book and she dismissed the claim, insisting her half-sibling “didn’t know” her.

Meghan rubbished the book written by Samantha, saying: “I think it would be very hard to tell all when you don’t know me.”

Asked how she felt about the book, Meghan said: “This is a very different situation than my dad, when we talk about betrayal, betrayal comes from someone you have a relationship with.

“I don’t feel comfortable talking about people that I really don’t know but I grew up as an only child, which everyone who grew up around me knows, and I wished I had siblings, I would have loved to have had siblings.”

Apparently, to prove that Meghan actually grew up having her siblings around, Samantha released the family photo on Twitter.

Open grazing is obsolete – Miyetti Allah

The Ondo state chapter of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders’ Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) has described open grazing as an obsolete tradition which they are now tired of. 

The disclosure was made in Akure on Wednesday March 10, during a public hearing on a bill to regulate grazing of livestock and establishment of ranches, among other related issues.

Bello Garba, chairman of the association in the state who stated that they open to peaceful ways of resolving farmers-herders clashes, urged government to make provision for ranches as a way of putting an end to frequent clashes between herders and farmers. He also asked state government to register Fulani men in all the LGAs of the state.

Ibrahim Abdul-Rahman, assistant secretary of the association who also spoke at the meeting averred that open grazing had become obsolete and needed to be banned. He appealed to all stakeholders to embrace modern cattle rearing techniques for the nation’s growth.

Bamidele Oloyelogun, speaker of the assembly who declared the event open said it was aimed at enhancing peaceful coexistence in the state. He also asked the participants to air their opinions, so issues in the state will be resolved amicably. 

Oloyelogun said; 

“It is for peace to reign in our state. This record will go a long way, having effects even on the children yet unborn. 

“Your memoranda and suggestions will be welcome. Please, feel free to air your views and bare your minds, but we must be objective and constructive.”

Mike Davids renders video apology to Apostle Johnson Suleman after accusing him of adultery (video)

Mike Davids has apologized to Apostle Johnson Suleman after accusing him of having sexual relations with his wife.

Recall that Mike Davids, a former pastor of Omega Fire Ministries, claimed the General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries, Apostle Johnson Suleman, slept with his wife and threatened to make him “disappear”.

He alleged that while he was still in the Ministry, Apostle Suleman slept with his wife and then transferred her to Abuja where she is now heading the church’s branch.

He also alleged that the clergyman has stopped him from seeing his three children and has also been threatening his life. He further claimed that Apostle Suleiman cast a spell on his wife.

His wife, Pastor Edeko, responded, saying that her husband’s allegations are cheap blackmail.  She said it was Davids who walked out of their marriage and that she suffered so much abuse while she was still living with him. She said she even contemplated suicide but her son stopped her.

She claimed that she did not abandon her marriage but it was her husband who abandoned the family and even demanded a refund of her bride price from her family.

However, Mike Davids continued to make accusations against Apostle Suleman.

Mike Davids also threatened to expose the “truth” behind the Stephanie Otobo sex scandal and how Apostle Suleman allegedly got Otobo to apologize over sex scandal.

Following through on one of his threats, Mike Davids released an audio where Apostle Suleman was heard threatening someone, an audio Apostle Suleman apologized for but said was doctored (read here).

Well, Mike Davids has now apologized for all the accusations he made against Apostle Suleman.

He said he’s been on a “spiritual sojourn” and received instructions from the Lord to apologise to Suleman.

As he apologized, he referred to Apostle Suleman as “my father in the Lord.”

He also apologised to Omega Fire Ministries and to Apostle Suleman’s wife. However, he didn’t apologize to his estranged wife who he accused of adultery.

Emiliano Sala’s family sues Cardiff City over his death

The family of late footballer, Emiliano Sala, have launched legal action against Cardiff City and his former club FC Nantes over his death in a plane crash. 


Then aged 28, the striker was travelling to join Cardiff after signing from FC Nantes when the single-engine Piper Malibu plane crashed north of Guernsey on January 21, 2019.


A pre-inquest review into his death took place in Bournemouth on Wednesday, March 10, but a full inquest won’t be held until next year.


Lawyers for the family said the high court action had been started to “protect their legal rights”.


The legal suit action includes Cardiff City – the club he had signed for just three days before his death.


They are also taking legal action against his former French club, FC Nantes, which sold him for £15million to Cardiff.


Daniel Machover, of Hickman & Rose Solicitors, said: “In order to protect their legal rights and remedies arising from Emiliano’s untimely death, the family have commenced civil proceedings in the high court, but will seek agreement to stay those proceedings pending the outcome of the inquest.”


Sala was killed on a flight to join his new club 


His body was recovered the following month but the body of the aircraft’s pilot, David Ibbotson, 59, has not been found.

David Henderson, who is alleged to have arranged the flight, is due to stand trial in October.


He is accused of endangering the safety of an aircraft, as well as attempting to discharge a passenger without valid permission or authorisation.


A report by the Air Accidents Investigation Branch previously concluded that the aircraft carrying Sala and Mr Ibbotson suffered an in-flight break-up while being flown too fast for its design limits.


It also found that the pilot lost control while attempting to avoid bad weather.


It added that the pilot was probably affected by carbon monoxide poisoning.


Investigators found that Ibbotson had no training in night flying, and a lack of recent practice as he relied only on cockpit instruments to control a plane.


They also found that he held a private pilot’s licence that did not allow him to conduct flights for reward.


In January 2021, Sala’s family demanded to know “the full truth” about his death.


In a statement, the family’s lawyer called for a formal inquest to be held after the trial of charter pilot Mr Henderson.


Henderson denied endangering the safety of an aircraft and attempting to discharge a passenger without valid permission or authorisation when he appeared before Cardiff Crown Court in October last year.


His trial has been set for October 2021.

Lawyer Machover, on behalf of the family, said: “It is a tragedy that two years have passed since Emiliano’s death and we still do not know exactly how and why he died. 


“An inquest is the only way to establish the full truth. 


“I very much hope that the Dorset Coroner will now set a date for the inquest to start immediately after David Henderson’s trial, so that Emiliano’s family do not have to endure another bleak anniversary with no answers.”

Prayuth Chan-ocha, Thailand’s Prime Minister sprays hand sanitiser on journalists to aviod questions (photos/video)

Thailand’s Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha surprised journalists at a press conference as he sprayed them sanitizers in order to avoid answering their questions.


The retired army general has been in power since a 2014 military coup, and has a history of acting controversially at press events.

In the past he was caught on camera patting a reporter’s head and tugging his ear, and once brought out a life-sized cardboard cutout of himself to “answer” questions on live TV.

During the press conference, he was asked about a cabinet reshuffle, then he immediately picked up a bottle of sanitiser and began spraying reporters, much to the shock of everyone.

”Married woman” caught in hotel with Hisbah officer is his daughter not lover— Hisbah Comm. officer

A senior Hisbah officer, Sani Rimo, who was recently arrested by the Kano state police command on allegations of being in a hotel with a married man has been exonerated after it was discovered that the said woman was actually his daughter and not a married woman.

His arrest was made public after it was reported on Freedom Radio Kano on Tuesday, Feb 16 that he had been arrested in the Sabon Gari area of the city.  Read here.

Shortly after it became public, Kano’s Hisbah Commander, Muhammed Haruna, ordered a two-man committee to investigate the matter. 

In an interview with SaharaReporters on Wednesday, March 10. the Hisbah’s communications officer, Nabahani Usman, said the matter had been fully investigated by the police, and the officer was found innocent.  According to him, the said married woman in question is Rimo’s daughter. 

He said the woman had some issues with her husband’s family and was lodged in a hotel by her husband’s family pending the time the case would be resolved.  Usman said Rimo had gone to give his daughter some food at the hotel located in Sabon Gari when people sighted him and thought he was visiting his lover. 

“The latest update on the case is that it was transferred to the police, fully investigated by the police and the outcome of their investigation is that the man is innocent of all the charges; the allegations were false. The lady is a daughter to him, there is a marital issue between the woman and her husband’s family so they had to lodge her in a hotel pending the time they would resolve the matter.

They didn’t even allow her family to reach out to her but her father got to know about it and was taking food to her in the hotel. When people saw that a Hisbah official was going to the hotel, they started shouting that a Hisbah officer had gone to meet a married woman in the hotel and all that, without even knowing she is his daughter.

The man right now is devastated, he has filed a petition against Freedom Radio through his solicitors. They will have to pay N10 million in damages and he said they would have to retract the publication and offer a public apology to him. He might go after other media houses though but we are not sure yet.”

Established to enforce the Sharia law, Hisbah officers regularly arrest unmarried people caught in hotels, presumably for sexual activities, as part of their enforcement of the Sharia.

NFF releases Super Eagles squad list for AFCON 2022 qualifying games

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has released a 24-man Super Eagles squad that will face Republic of Benin and Lesotho for the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The Super Eagles will face Benin in Porto Novo on March 27 before facing the Lesotho three days later in their final 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, on March 30.

Almeria forward Sadiq Umar has been handed his first senior call-up following his impressive performances for his club this season. Umar has scored 22 goals and seven assists in 41 appearances in all competitions.

Singaporean woman recounts how she was scammed into marriage by her Nigerian ex-husband

A Singaporean woman, Lynn Shia Soo Me, has revealed how she was ”scammed” into marriage by a Nigerian man and allegedly subjected to physical, mental and even financial abuse for over 11 years.

According to Lynn, her ex-Nigerian husband who she identified as Michael Moses asked her to leave their son, Abraham with him in the United States and return to Singapore to earn money for them.

She returned to Singapore as he had demanded.  She said initially, she was able to see her now 5-year-old son and spoke to him on phone and video calls but since October 2019, she has not been able to see him as as her ex cut off all communication with her.

In her new book, Ms Lynnocent, tells the entire story from how she met the Nigerian man, had to move with him to the United States, was divorced by him while carrying their child, and finally how she was pushed back to Singapore to earn money for her ex-husband who would not let her see her son again.

In an interview with TheIndependentSingapore Lynn cried as she recalled how the Nigerian man, took her to Kuala Lumpur.

She divorced her first husband and left her three daughters after meeting Michael in 2008 when she was 41. She said she did not realise he wanted to marry her in order to settle down in Singapore.

Unable to get a Singapore visa, the man took her to Kuala Lumpur in January 2009.  A couple of months later, he took her to Nigeria where they spent a week and registered their marriage. 

“Michael planned on registering our marriage in Nigeria. He bought tickets to Nigeria. And there, we got married. While in Nigeria, he never introduced his parents or friends. In fact, we never met with any of them. It was just the two of us. We stayed in a hotel. What do we do next?”, I asked him with excitement. I was joyous that we were finally married,” Lynn narrated. 

“We go back to Singapore and apply for a long-term visa”, he answered. 

They returned to Singapore and soon after she got pregnant. Unsuccessful in his bid to settle down in Singapore, he wanted a new life in America.

Before going to the US, she visited her parents’ house in Singapore. But they did not allow her to give birth in their home when they found out she was carrying his child.

Michael went to America in May 2015 and Lynn joined him there in August 2015. They stayed in Dallas in Texas. She said there she found out that he had even lied to her about his age and that he was planning to divorce her to marry another woman.

“I am not four years younger than you, Lynn. I am actually fourteen years younger” he told her. 

Eventually, Michael divorced Lynn in October 2015 and married a US citizen called Beula. But he told Lynn his new marriage was only temporary. Lynn gave birth to her son Adrian on December 1, 2015.

Distanced from her family and estranged, Lynn had no other choice but to stay with Michael in the United States, with their son. She alleged he would often abuse her physically.

“Worse, he would rape me in front of Abraham. I wasn’t spared even during my periods. To let a child see such horrendous acts, it was unforgivable,” she recalled. 

“Abraham, without a clue, would stay beside and wipe my tears, while Michael continued to ravish me. I had no clue as to why a man who said he loved me turned so cruel,”

Lynn claimed that on Oct 29, 2019, Michael forced her to pack up and return to Singapore, and told her to earn money for him and their son. Lynn said that she was told if she did not set up a “fund” for him, she would never see her son again. Her son Adrian was three years old when she left him behind in America.

After returning to Singapore, she started working in the healthcare industry. She had never worked before other than a few months before her first marriage, some 28 years ago. Initially, she was able to see her son and speak to him on the phone and video calls. However, a few months later, all contact allegedly ceased and she has not been able to see her son again. She did not send Momba any money, suspecting he was scamming her.

Now she is 54. Michael, who is 14 years younger than her, is 40 and Adrian, five years old. Still pining for her son, Lynn has not given up hope.

Her book, Ms Lynnocent, is her attempt at raising funds in order to return to the United States and get her son back. 

Lynn has also started on online petition to help reunite with her son.

In the petition, Lynn said she can only reveal his identity and SSN once authorities are convinced and when they contact her. 

“Everyday is a plight for me now. Every night I cry. I want my son. He is not giving Hence, I am making this request. He doesn’t even allow me to see my son even in Video. He went and wrongfully added him as a custodial parent by making the authorities to believe that I ran away to Singapore. The fact is he asked me to go to Singapore with a cheating plan. I beg, cry, lament and plead…Please help me to get back to my son by signing this petition.” she wrote.

“Women forgive your husbands and fight for your marriages” – Divorced Loise Kim says

A Kenyan gospel artiste, Loise Kim has advised women in her country to not leave their husbands over infidelity. 

Taking to her Instagram, the divorced mother of two said it is unwise to leave a man over infidelity, adding that no man is better than the other.

While pointing out that she is not in any way encouraging adultery or polygamy, Kim said she learned from experience that most women who leave their marriages because their spouses cheated end up finding even worse philanderers. 

Continuing, on International Women’s Day, March 8, she celebrated Hilary Clinton and all the women who forgave their cheating husbands. 

She wrote;

“Am not here to encourage adultery or polygamy, but here is where the tyre touches the road. In this world I am in, I have learnt that,” she wrote.

“No woman should leave her husband because he has taken another woman reason, no man is better than the other, just know how to handle him and solve your issues.

“If you leave your husband because he has taken another woman and you think that you will go and get a better man out there, am sorry you are wrong, what you will get is another philanderer who is worse than your husband. Fight for this man who belongs to you.
Therefore, women, stick to your men, know how to handle them, solve your issues and how you will change him. Lakini kiulizo tu, is a man polygamous by nature”

“No more money for RINOS,” – Donald Trump

The Republican National Committee has responded after Trump sent a ‘cease and desist’ letter to the party’s National committee warning against using his name to raise funds during party rallies, meetings or conventions.


On Friday March 5, his lawyers sent letters to the RNC and others asking them to “immediately cease and desist the unauthorized use of President Donald J. Trump’s name, image, and/or likeness in all fundraising, persuasion, and/or issue speech,” according to the RNC letter.


In a Monday letter to Trump attorney Alex Cannon, Republican National Committee (RNC) chief counsel J. Justin Riemer said the committee “has every right to refer to public figures as it engages in core, First Amendment-protected political speech” and said “it will continue to do so in pursuit of these common goals.”


He added that Trump had also “reaffirmed” to the chair of the RNC, Ronna McDaniel, over the weekend “that he approves of the RNC’s current use of his name in fundraising and other materials, including for our upcoming donor retreat event at Palm Beach at which we look forward to him participating.”


Trump on Tuesday March 9, responded to the letter with a statement demanding an end to raising funds for the RNC instead telling his supporters to send money to his own fundraising committee .


“No more money for RINOS,” or Republican in name only, he stated. “They do nothing but hurt the Republican Party and our great voting base — they will never lead us to Greatness.”


He said supporters should send their contributions directly to his own Save America PAC by using his personal website, adding, “We will bring it all back stronger than ever before!”


The development reflects the rising tensions that have divided the party in the months since Trump left the White House. 


The party wants to tap into his popularity among the Republican base to raise money ahead of next year’s midterm, But Trump wants to control the use of his name and image.

Father accused of cruelty on his daughter and forcing her to sign a contract of never getting fat

A 56-year-old father from Windsor, Berkshire has been arraigned in court after reportedly ‘forcing his daughter to sign a lifetime contract promising to never get fat’.

The jury also heard how Rachid Khadla weighed his daughter almost daily and ruled his family with terrifying discipline.

Khadla who is facing charges of child cruelty and assault over his treatment of his now adult daughter Amira and sons Hicham and Karim, was accused of forcing his daughter to sign the contract in 2012. 

The agreement read; 

“I, Amira Khadla, will never let myself get fat.

“I will do lots of exercise to make sure I will never get fat, even until I die.” 

His wife of 27 years Sarah supported the police prosecution, claiming he had a ‘quick temper’ and would get angry for no reason towards their three children, who are now grown up. 

23-year-old Amira also told the court how her ‘controlling’ father decided what she could wear, who she could see, who she could talk to, and what she could watch on television. She said she was “fearful” of her father who constantly put her down, calling her stupid, a failure and telling her she was rubbish.

It was also learnt that when Amira was just nine years old, he threw a chair at her which left a lump behind her ear. Her father reportedly lied to doctors, claiming the injury was caused by a football.

Khadla was further accused of hitting his youngest child, Hicham, now 18 years old, in his chest and strangling him for “5-10 seconds” because he was too late to do the housework. Hicham told his teacher about alleged abuse and his father was arrested.

The court heard how on October 16 2019, the schoolboy was cleaning his sister’s bedroom when the angry defendant attacked him for being too slow.

Prosecuting officer, Alex Krikler said; 

“He punched Hicham to the chest a number of times and then pushed him onto his sister’s bed.

“He then placed both hands around his neck and strangled him for quite some time, five to 10 seconds, before pulling him up, punching him to the chest and walking away.

“Hisham had tried to say ‘stop’ but had been unable to speak.

“He could not breathe and although the marks left by the strangulation were relatively minor, the incident was extremely frightening.

“The next morning, moments before the family had to leave to attend his sister’s university graduation ceremony, Hicham told his mother that his father had “crossed a line”.

“For the most minor of transgressions at home, he said that he would regularly get ‘the spoon.’

“His father would make him put his hands out and would smack the palms of his hands with a wooden spoon.

“He also described how his father would push and punch him and on occasion throw things at him.

“The abuse was not just physical. The defendant would also threaten extreme violence, that he would ‘splatter his brains across the ceiling and kill him.’

“His father would tell him that he was weak.”

Eldest son Karim also recounted the cruelty he suffered as a child. He remembers “the control, the temper, and the violence” and being punched to the head so forcefully when he was aged 15 years that it knocked him over.

The 26-year-old left home and severed all ties with his family before the allegations came to light.

After his arrest, the defendant denied strangling his son, instead claiming he was acting in “self-defence”. He said his son was in a rage and he was in fear so grabbed his son, who had tripped onto the bed to restrain him.

Krikler added; 

“When asked how to discipline the children, he said he would hit them from the bottom when they were young.

“But otherwise he said he had never hit or physically disciplined them.

“He denied that he would threaten or physically hurt his children, saying he sometimes shouted, but that was all. He denied controlling his children.

The prosecution’s barrister concluded the opening speech by telling the jury: defendant.

“The prosecution is that he can be confident that he has illegally assaulted and abused his children so that he is not just a disciplinary person, but his actions cross the line and correspond to criminal activity.”

A woman shot dead her ex-boyfriend because he refused to pay for her boob job.


Cristina D’Avila Teixeira Rodrigues, aged 24, was arrested in Brazil for allegedly executing businessman Paulo Roberto Moraes Teixeira Junior with a gunshot to the back of the head.


She reportedly handed herself to police in the city of Manaus on March 8, three days after commiting the alleged crime.


The victim, Paulo Roberto Moraes Teixeira Junior, 29, owned an internet installation company, where he met Christina.


Police report say he was fatally shot on Friday afternoon, March 5 with a .380 calibre pistol.


He was then rushed to hospital, but died on Sunday, March 7.

According to Rodrigo, the victim’s brother, Rodrigues killed her ex because he refused to pay for her silicone breast implants, which can cost around £1,300 ($1,800) in Brazil.


He told local Brazilian media: “He gave her a car, a job, money.


“She wanted silicone, but in times of pandemic, the company was cutting costs and he could not give her this surgery.


“They fought a lot because of this on the night she took my brother’s life.”


The victim’s sister, Roberta, told local media her brother employed her at his company and they had a year-and-a-half-long relationship.


She said: “From what we saw, she was just with him out of self-interest. She liked to show off, but she never posted anything about him.


“It seems he discovered something serious about her and they broke up.”


According to Roberta, the suspect went to the victim’s house and said she wanted to speak to him.

Hours later, his family was told he had been shot.


She said: “She still had access. Before arriving, she switched off the house’s cameras.


“She premeditated everything.

“When she fired the shot, she walked out and called her mother to tell her.


“Her mother told my brother and the two of them went there. My brother arrived and saw him dying in the kitchen.”

She appeared with a lawyer at the Specialized Homicide Police and Kidnappings (DEHS) on Monday, March 8, but claimed the shooting was accidental.


Chief Marilia Campello, deputy of DEHS, said: “Cristina confessed to the crime, but claimed she had no intention of killing Paulo Roberto.


“She said the businessman had two firearms, one in the house and the other in the car.


The investigation is ongoing.

Verzuz, a Video Streaming App sold to Thriller by its creators, Timbaland and Swizz Beatz

One year after launching Verzuz, Swizz Beatz and Timbaland have sold the powerhouse livestream music series platform to Thriller.


Triller says Swizz and Timbaland will become large shareholders in the Triller Network and serve as brand visionaries on the Triller Verzuz management team but didn’t disclose the financial details of the deal.


The Verzuz co-founders have also allocated a portion of their equity in the new combined company to all 43 performers who have appeared on Verzuz to date.


Artists that had appeared on Verzuz include John Legend, DMX, Alicia Keys, 2 Chainz, Rick Ross, Gucci Mane, Jeezy, Nelly, Ludacris, Brandy, Monica, Gladys Knight, D’Angelo, and more.


Verzuz launched in March of 2020 amid the cancelation of live events and concerts due to the pandemic. The platform has become a cultural phenomenon, amassing more than five billion impressions across platforms including Instagram and Apple Music. Earlier this year, Verzuz partnered with the NFL and plans to venture into additional sports verticals, comedy, and live events in the future.


“This is a momentous occasion not only for Verzuz and Triller but the music business as a whole,” said Swizz Beatz and Timbaland.

Israel Adesanya, middleweight champion faces potential six-month medical suspension

Nigerian MMA fighter, Israel Adesanya could face a lengthy medical suspension of six months after losing to Jan Blachowicz at UFC 259. 

The New Zealand-Nigerian middleweight champion, 31, suffered the first defeat of his professional career on Saturday night March 6, when he lost to Poland’s Jan Blachowicz in Las Vegas.

Adesanya lost by a unanimous decision as he failed in his quest to become the UFC’s fifth simultaneous champion at two different weight classes.

And as a result of his injuries from the fight, he could not be cleared to fight again until early September, Mail Online reports. 

The 31-year-old has reportedly been told he needs to undergo X-rays on his left foot and ankle to determine the level of damage sustained.

The Mixed Martial Arts have confirmed the news from the Nevada Athletic Commission’s report, stating that he must receive clearance from a doctor before he’s giving the green light to fight again. 

If cleared, he could return on April 21 but has also been ordered to partake in no contact training until 6.

Blachowicz was also suspended from any contact training until March 28 and cannot fight until at least April 6.

Joachim Low hints on stepping down as Euros manager after 15 years

Joachim Low has announced he is stepping down as Germany manager after the conclusion of Euro 2020 this summer, bringing an end to his 15-year spell in charge of the German national team. 

In a statement on Tuesday, March 9, the 61-year-old said: ‘I’m taking this step very consciously, full of pride and enormous gratitude, but at the same time will continue to be very motivated when it comes to the upcoming European Championships. 

‘I’m proud, because it’s something very special and an honor for me to be involved in my country. And because I have been able to work with the best footballers in the country for almost 17 years and support them in their development.

‘I have great triumphs with them and painful defeats, but above all many wonderful and magical moments – not just winning the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. I am and will remain grateful to the DFB, which has always provided me and the team with an ideal work environment.’

Low, who has held the position as Germany boss since 2006, having been promoted from No 2 following Jurgen Klinsmann’s exit that year, has been under intense scrutiny in recent times following some disastrous results and reported rift with his players. 

Germany were humiliated 6-0 by Spain back in November, their heaviest defeat in almost 90 years as they finished runners-up in their UEFA Nations League group. 

At that time, he faced heavy criticism for axing experienced stars Thomas Muller, Mats Hummels, and Jerome Boateng. 

Low led his nation to World Cup glory in 2014 and finished runner up in Euro 2008. He also won the Confederations Cup in 2017.

Liverpool coach, Jurgen Klopp, who has a contract at Liverpool until 2024, has been linked with the job.

The British Government has announced plans to return £4.2million funds recovered James Ibori

The British Government has announced plans to return £4.2million funds recovered from friends and family members of convicted former Delta state governor, James Ibori.

The British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Ms. Catriona Laing, disclosed this at a ceremony for the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between both the Nigerian and UK government in Abuja today March 9.

She said this was the first tranche of such planned returns. She added that what is being returned to the Nigerian government was retrieved from friends and family members of Ibori.

She noted the Ibori case is complicated and the United Kingdom authorities were still working on the total actual amount involved in the case.

The Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, who signed on behalf of the Nigerian government, disclosed that President Buhari has directed the returned loots to be deployed to completion of the second Niger Bridge, the Lagos to Ibadan expressway and the Abuja to Kano expressway projects.

Ibori was governor of Delta state from 1999-2007. On February 27th, 2012, Ibori pleaded guilty to 10 counts of money laundering, fraud, conspiracy to defraud, and other offenses in a London court. He also pleaded guilty to stealing over $250 million public funds while he was governor. 

The former Governor of Delta state was released from a UK prison in December 2016 after completing his jail term.

President Joe Biden’s German Shepherd dogs vacate White House after causing problems

US First Family, Joe and Jill Biden’s German shepherds have been removed from the White House after the younger dog, Major, reportedly bit a security agent.

According to reports, the pets have been sent back to the Biden family home in Wilmington, Delaware.

It follows reports Major, a dog not usually used to public life, started exhibiting aggressive behaviour towards White House staff.


The Bidens adopted three-year-old Major in 2018. He is officially the first dog from an animal shelter to live in the White House.


Their other dog, Champ, is 13 years old.


Reports from US media say Major had been jumping, barking and charging at White House staff and security since he entered the White House.


Last month, Jill Biden told The Kelly Clarkson Show that she was focused on getting the dogs settled.


“They have to take the elevator, they’re not used to that, and they have to go out on the South Lawn with lots of people watching them. So that’s what I’ve been obsessed with, getting everybody settled and calm,” she said.


Even though Donald Trump was the first president in more than 100 years not to have a dog, the White House has a long history with pets.


Former US President Lyndon B Johnson also had a rescue dog – a terrier mix named Yuki.

Nigerian Govt. launches temporary passport for Nigerians in abroad

The Nigerian Temporary Passport (NTP) for Nigerians in the diaspora was on Tuesday March 9, launched by the federal government. 

Minister of interior Rauf Aregbesola who spoke at the launch at headquarters of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) in Abuja, said the NTP is a new genre of passport that will be issued at Nigerian embassies and high commissions to Nigerians who want to return home but whose national passport is not available.

The NTP which is a travel document designed for a one-way travel to Nigeria only, replaces the Emergency Travel Certificate (ETC) which is issued to Nigerians to return home in emergency situations in the case of loss or misplacement of their passport.

The temporary passport is ICAO compliant and it is valid for only 30 days before the date of travel.

Muhammad Babandede, comptroller-general of the NIS who also spoke at the event described the temporary passport as a catalyst to Nigeria’s desire for effective identity management as it has a chip and surface personalisation ”which is an enhancement of the current Electronic Passport Management System (EPMS)”.

Nomadland and Rocks lead the nominations for the 2021 ceremony, with seven nominations apiece. While The Father, Mank, Minari and Promising Young Woman all score six nods each.

English actor and activist, Riz Ahmed was nominated for the Leading Actor gong (Sound Of Metal) while the late Chadwick Boseman (Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom) also received a nod in the same category.

The awards will be held at London’s Royal Albert Hall on April 11 without a live audience due to coronavirus restrictions.

Schoolgirl admits that she lied against #SamuelPaty who was beheaded for cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad

A French schoolgirl has admitted to spreading false claims about a teacher before he was murdered last year.


Samuel Paty was beheaded in October 2020 after showing students cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad.


The girl, whose complaints about the cartoons sparked an online campaign against Paty, has now admitted that she was not in the class when the alleged event happened.

Paty’s killing stunned France and led to an outpouring of support at memorial ceremonies and marches around the country.

 #Samuelpaty trended throughout that period and now the 13-year-old girl, who originally told her father that Paty had asked Muslim students to leave the classroom while he showed the cartoon during a class on free speech and blasphemy, has now denied being in the classroom .


According to evidence given by the girl who is yet to be named, she said: “I didn’t see the cartoons, it was a girl in my class who showed me them.”


“She lied because she felt trapped in a spiral because her classmates had asked her to be a spokesperson,” her lawyer, Mbeko Tabula, told AFP news agency.

Remember that before the teacher’s beheading, the young girl’s father filed a legal complaint against the teacher and began a social media campaign over the incident based on his daughter’s account. 


He identified Paty and the school in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine, west of Paris.


Prosecutors in France said shortly after the killing that there was a “direct causal link” between the online incitement against Paty and his murder.


The person who carried out the beheading, 18-year-old Abdullakh Anzorov, was shot dead by police shortly after the attack.


According to prosecutors this is the real version of events that occured;

As he had done in similar lessons on free speech in previous years, Paty warned students that he was about to show a depiction of Muhammad. He said anyone who thought they might be offended could close their eyes.

The girl originally claimed the teacher had asked Muslim pupils to leave the room. When she objected she was suspended from school, she said.


 Prosecutors have now revealed that the girl was suspended the day before the class was given, because of repeated absence from school.


The girl in her leaked testimony, expalains that she made up the story so as not to disappoint her father. 


Speaking on French radio on Tuesday, the Paty family’s lawyer said the girl’s family knew that she had not been in class on the day in question and why she had been suspended. “So to come and say now, sorry, I believed my daughter’s lies, that’s really weak,” Virginie Le Roy told RTL radio.


Depictions of the Prophet Muhammad are widely regarded as taboo in Islam, and are considered highly offensive by Muslims.

The issue is particularly sensitive in France because of the decision by satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo to publish cartoons of the Prophet.

Twelve people were killed by Islamist extremists at the magazine’s offices in 2015 after the images were published.

The British Royal family has reacted to the explosive interview given by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle during their interview with Oprah Winfrey.

During the interview which aired on March 7, the couple made allegations of racism within the palace and a lack of support from the royal family over mental health issues and media intrusion.

Today, March 9, at about 5:30 p.m. London time, the palace issued a statement on behalf of Queen Elizabeth.

The statement reads: “The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan.

“The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately.

“Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved family members.”

Meghan Markle’s father has granted an interview in reaction to his daughter’s interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Thomas Markle Sr. appeared on Good Morning Britain today, March 9, where his words made it clear he was on the side of the Royal Family.

Speaking to Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid, Thomas Markle reacted to each claim Meghan made during her interview with Oprah.

On Meghan being suicidal and having no one to help her, Thomas Markle said his daughter didn’t have anyone to turn to because she has shut her family out.

He said: “She’s pretty much ghosted all of her family, on her mother’s side and my side, so she really has no one to reach out to.”

Reacting to Meghan’s claim that there were concerns about her son’s skin tone and how dark he might be when he’s born, Thomas Markle said he didn’t think it’s as serious as Meghan is making it seem.

He said: “I have great respect for the royals and I don’t think the British Royal family are racists, or i don’t think the British are racist.

“I think Los Angeles is racist, California is racist (where Meghan lives now), but I don’t think the British are.”

He continued: “The thing about what colour will the baby be, or how dark will the baby be, I’m guessing and hoping it’s just a dumb question from somebody. It could just be that simple. It could be somebody asked this stupid question rather than being a total racist.”

Thomas proceeded to say that he never stopped loving his daughter and hoped there’s still a part of her that still feels something for him. He recalled a Father’s Day post she made on her now-defunct blog, The Tig, where she spoke highly of him.

Asked what he has to say to those questioning why he keeps speaking to the press, Thomas responded by blackmailing Meghan.

He made it clear that if he doesn’t hear from her in 30 day, he’ll talk to the press and he’ll keep going that way every 30 days until he hears from Meghan and Prince Harry.

“When they decide to start talking to me, I’ll stop talking to the press,” Thomas Markle said.

Edinson Cavani set to leave Manchester United for Boca Juniors

Edinson Cavani is reportedly set to leave Manchester United after just a season at Old Trafford and return to South America to fulfill his boyhood dream of playing for Boca Juniors this summer. 


According to Argentine publication, Ole, the veteran Urgranyan striker has his heart set on a move to Boca Juniors, despite having the option to extend his contract with United by an extra year.


Cavani signed a deal until the end of the season when he joined United on a free transfer last October, having left PSG at the end of his contract. But it claimed that he wants to fulfill a boyhood dream by seeing out his career at Boca.


The Argentine giants have shown interest in signing him in the past, with Ole previously reporting that Cavani had told club president, Juan Roman Riquelme, that he would join in the future.


The 34-year-old is said to have asked the club who his team-mates would be next season, as well as asking for assurances that they could make signings to challenge for the Copa Libertadores title.


Since his arrival at Manchester United, he’s scored seven goals in 25 appearances. 


Ole claim that Cavani is willing to take a huge cut on his £210,000-a-week wages to ensure the move goes through smoothly.


According to the Argentine newspaper, the veteran will demand a three-year contract worth the equivalent of what he would earn at United in a single season.

Vanessa Bryant wins lawsuit that obtains the identities of the deputies that shared Kobe Bryant crash photos

A federal judge ruled that Vanessa Bryant can obtain the names of four Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies who allegedly shared “unauthorized” photographs of the aftermath of the January 2020 helicopter crash that killed nine people, including her husband, Kobe, and daughter, Gianna.

Richard Winton of the Los Angeles Times confirmed the news, noting U.S. District Judge John F. Walter made the ruling Monday.

The judge wrote that “Sheriff Villanueva’s promise to publicly release the [internal affairs bureau] report after the conclusion of the investigation undermines Defendants’ purported concern in the disclosure of the limited excerpts at issue here.” Local court rules give the county four days to appeal the ruling.

Walter noted there is “a strong presumption of access as a starting point” and the county failed to show compelling reasons to do otherwise. Bryant’s lawyers blacked out the deputies’ names in their filing, pending the court’s decision on whether the complaint should be sealed.

Vanessa Bryant attorney Luis Li said “transparency promotes accountability. We look forward to presenting Mrs. Bryant’s case in open court.”

In the ruling, Walter found that allegations of police officer misconduct should not be hidden from the public eye. “Indeed where the case involves allegations of police misconduct, the public has a vested interest in assessing the truthfulness of the allegations of official misconduct, and whether agencies that are responsible for investigating and adjudicating complaints of misconduct have acted properly and wisely,” he wrote.

Los Angeles County lawyers wanted to keep the names under seal in the lawsuit and suggested making them public could make the deputies targets for hackers. They now have four days to appeal Monday’s ruling.

But the judge gave rejected the county’s arguments. “Although the Court recognizes that this case has been the subject of public scrutiny and media attention and that the Deputy Defendants are legitimately concerned that they will encounter vitriol and social media attacks, such concerns, by themselves, are not sufficient to outweigh the public’s strong interest in access.”

“Moreover, Defendants’ concern that hackers may attempt to seek out and gain access to the individual deputies’ devices to locate any photographs and publish them is totally inconsistent with their position that such photographs no longer exist,” the judge said.

This comes after Bryant called for the names to be released on an Instagram post last month:

“Faced with a scene of unimaginable loss, no fewer than eight sheriff’s deputies at the crash site pulled out their personal cell phones and snapped photos of the dead children, parents and coaches,” Bryant’s lawsuit stated, per Jonathan Lloyd of NBC Los Angeles. “The deputies took these photos for their own personal gratification.”

The suit alleges a Sheriff’s Department internal affairs report found that one deputy took 25 to 100 photos at the scene and that photos spread quickly by text and phone-sharing technology over the next 48 hours among deputies who showed them to others. The county has claimed that all the photos have been deleted.

The lawsuit, which is seeking damages for negligence and invasion of privacy, also says deputies and firefighters shared the pictures in an unauthorized manner.

A rapist is now pregnant for the 14 year old victim

A woman who was allegedly caught “raping a 14-year-old-boy” by a shocked eyewitness is now said to be pregnant with her victim’s child, a court heard. 

Brittni Gray, 23, of Paragould, Arkansas, was charged with one count of sexual harassment in the fourth degree, a Class D felony on Monday March 8, after she was allegedly caught having abusive sexual intercourse with the youngster in Arkansas, in September 2020.

Police first received a tip in February 2020, from the Arkansas Child Abuse Hotline about the sexual relationship the teen was having with Gray, KAIT-TV reported. In September of that year, another tip came in from a witness who alleged they’d seen Gray and the boy having sex.

Police also found out that the alleged victim had been in a sexual relationship with Gray for about a year.

“The witness stated that the alleged offender is currently pregnant with the victim’s child,” Detective Rhonda Thomas stated in an affidavit obtained by KAIT.

Medical records have also confirmed Gray’s pregnancy after she was seen in video footage with the alleged victim entering the hospital together during a recent visit to the emergency room.

Gray was arrested on Monday, March 1, and released on a $5,000 bond on Thursday, March 4 She is due back in court on April 23, 2021.

Sylvester Ngwuta, A Justice of the Supreme Court, is dead

A Justice of the Supreme Court, Justice Sylvester Ngwuta, is dead.

Ngwuta died in the early hours of Sunday, March 7, after a protracted illness. His health took took a different turn for the worse on Thursday, March 4 and was subsequently taken to the intensive care unit.

Spokesperson of the court, Ahuraka Isah, who confirmed his death, said

“He has been ill for a while. He was supposed to preside over a matter on Thursday but the illness became severe. He was moved to intensive care unit on Friday. They even conducted COVID-19 test on him but he tested negative. We were already preparing for his valedictory service slated for March 30.”Isah said

Ngwuta was absent from the bench between 2016 and 2019 while he faced trial for corruption after the secret police claimed it found hard currencies believed to be proceeds of corruption in his Abuja residence. He was asked to step aside from his duties to face charges of money laundering brought against him at a federal high court in Abuja.

Born in 1951 in Amofia-Ukawu, Onicha LGA of Ebonyi state, Ngwuta got his LLB from the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) in 1977 and a bachelor of law at the Nigerian Law School in 1978.

During his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program between August 1978 and October 1979, he was deployed as the state counsel in charge of the ministry of justice, Otukpo, Benue state.

In July 1978, he started his private legal practice in Abakaliki, Ebonyi state capital. In October 1995, he was appointed a judge of the Abia state high court. He was elevated to the court of appeal in  May 2003 and was sworn in as a justice of the supreme court in May 2011.

Joan Laporta won the Barcelona presidential election

Joan Laporta has won the Barcelona presidential election after securing 54.3 percent of the votes in the election.


In the elections which ended Sunday night, March 7, a total of  55,611 members voted, with Laporta beating rivals Victor Font ( who won 30 per cent) and Toni Freixa (9 per cent).

Laporta, whose first spell ended in 2010 when Barcelona were the best team on the  planet with a squad boasting Iniesta, Xavi, Messi and coached by Pep Guardiola, will now resume for second term at the helm of the club.


That Barcelona squad is still regarded as one of the greatest sides of all time.

Before the election, Laporta had promised those who voted for him  that their best chance of retaining Lionel Messi was to vote for him


As Messi’s deal expires in the summer, Laporta has promised to start negotiations with the star player.


When he was asked after the electoral results were announced if he would be in touch with Messi’s entourage tomorrow, he said: “Why tomorrow? I can speak tonight, the night is long.”


“These are the most important elections in the history of FC Barcelona,” Laporta declared. “They have been organised in a model fashion.”


Font, Laporta’s opponent in the election told TV3: “I think it has been a constructive campaign. It is good for the institution that we celebrate a democratic day like today and that we congratulate the winner.


“Obviously, the results are not we wanted, but I want to thank thousands of Catalans who have supported us and given us their trust.


“I believe that the context in which the club finds itself has led to a rebound effect. We were fighting against a well-known former president. Against that it has been very complicated

Pastor sent on leave after he admonished his brethren to be like ‘trophy wife’ Melania Trump

A pastor has been placed on leave after he told women in his congregation to be more like former US First Lady Melania Trump while also making racist and homophobic comments.


“I’m not saying every woman can be the epic trophy wife of all time like Melania Trump,” Pastor Stewart-Allen Clark said last month in a sermon at First General Baptist Church in Malden, Missouri, as he preached at the altar.

After the video trended on social media,  the pastor was heavily criticized .


On Sunday, March 7, the church announced the pastor has been put on leave.

“The sermon included comments that are not consistent with the positions and values of General Baptists,” the organization said in a statement.

“General Baptists believe that every woman was created in the image of God, and they should be valued for that reason,” the church said.


“Furthermore, we believe that all individuals regardless of any other factors are so loved by God that Christ died for them.”


It added that Clark had been scheduled to moderate the General Association of General Baptist meeting in July 2022 but “has resigned from that position.”


In addition, the church said Clark is undergoing of counseling.
