Joe Biden acknowledges March 31st as Transgender Day of visibility

US President Joe Biden on Wednesday issued the first presidential proclamation recognizing March 31st as Transgender Day of Visibility.

The day is now dedicated to celebrating transgender people and bringing awareness to the discrimination and violence they face every day.

In his proclamation today, Biden said Trans Day of Visibility recognizes the generations of activism by transgender and nonbinary people.

“Their trailblazing work has given countless transgender individuals the bravery to live openly and authentically,” Biden wrote. “This hard-fought progress is also shaping an increasingly accepting world in which peers at school, teammates and coaches on the playing field, colleagues at work, and allies in every corner of society are standing in support and solidarity with the transgender community.”

Biden explained that trans people “still face systemic barriers to freedom and equality,” such as higher rates of violence, harassment and discrimination.

”Nearly 1 in 3 trans people have experienced homelessness and they also face discrimination in employment, housing, health care and public accommodations.” Biden said

“The crisis of violence against transgender women, especially transgender women of color, is a stain on our Nation’s conscience. Forty-four transgender people were killed in the United States last year, a record; 23 of them were Black trans women.” he added

Biden said his administration has already started implementing new policies to protect trans people, such as the executive order he issued on the first day of his presidency to expand discrimination protections for LGBTQ people under federal laws such as the Affordable Housing Act.

He also mentioned, “the first openly transgender American to be confirmed by the United States Senate” Rachel Levine, the assistant secretary for health and “patriotic transgender service members, who are once again able to proudly and openly serve their country” a reference to his executive order undoing former President Donald Trump’s ban on transgender people serving in the military.

Biden also called on Congress to pass the Equality Act, a sweeping bill that would grant LGBTQ people protections from discrimination in employment, housing, education, credit, jury service, and more.

“To more fully protect the civil rights of transgender Americans, we must pass the Equality Act and provide long-overdue Federal civil rights protections on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity,” Biden wrote. “It will serve as a lasting legacy to the bravery and fortitude of the LGBTQ+ movement.”

Nigerian former beauty Queen/PhD student, Najeebat Sule, shot dead in US

A former Nigerian beauty queen and doctorate student has been shot dead while sitting in her car in front of her family’s home in Philadelphia.

Najeebat Sule, 24, who was known to her loved ones as Najee, was killed as she was texting a friend in her Toyota shortly before 6pm on March 12, just steps away from her residence in the 8800 block of Frankford Avenue.

Najeebat Sule

At the moment, police have not found a motive and have made no arrests,  leaving Najeebat’s family and friends searching for answers. They have also gone into hiding for fear of their own lives.

“I can’t think of anything that would make anyone want to kill her,” Najeebat’s close friend Habibat Magaji, told the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Magaji was among the last people to have seen Najeebat alive before she was shot.

The two women had spent the night before at Magaji’s home, eating snacks and watching Netflix together.

Less than 24 hours later, Najeebat was sitting in her gray Toyota Corolla, exchanging text messages with Magaji, when an unidentified man walked up to the vehicle with a gun drawn and shot her several times.

Najeebat’s father, Adewale Sule, heard the gunfire and came out from the house just in time to see the suspect fire the last of the shots at his daughter.

Mr Sule said: “I saw the guy shooting my daughter. He shot the last round and I pursued him. He ran back to his car.”

Najeet was rushed to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, where she was pronounced dead about 30 minutes later.

Najeebat Sule

Her mother, Tawakalitu Sule, said she last heard from Najeebat less than two hours before the shooting, when her daughter asked her when she was going to be home.

“All of my children have been crying every day because of their big sister. They really miss her. I miss my daughter,” she said.

Najeebat Sule

Najeet is survived by her parents and two sisters.

“She was very talented, smart and funny,” one of her siblings told 6abc.

The family are currently staying at an undisclosed location over unspecified concerns for their safety.

Sule and her family moved to Philadelphia from Nigeria in the early 2000s.

Sule had only recently earned a Master’s degree in public health from West Chester University and was pursuing a doctorate.

Najeebat Sule

In 2019, she was crowned a second runner-up at the Miss Nigeria International pageant.

Najeebat Sule

The pageant organisers wrote on Facebook following her death: “Queen Najibat was an amazing young lady whose presence at the Miss Nigerian beauty pageant left a great ripple that continues to resonate. She was a breath of fresh air and her presence added a distinct touch that made the event memorable. She carried herself with great dignity and grace and her strength of character and approachability made her such a joy to work with.”

Sex Offenders set to be Castrated, Convicted Paedophile pleads..

Dozens of convicted child sex offenders are set to be castrated in Kazakhstan, the country’s Government has announced.

25 sex criminals are set to be castrated. They are the latest to undergo the controversial procedure which one man said left him “aching so badly” he could hardly walk.

A total of 95 men are expected to undergo chemical castration in Kazakhstan this year at a cost of £178 per paedophile, Dailystar reports.

Interior Ministry official Alexey Milyuk said that since the 2018 law came into effect, “the number of offences against the underaged has decreased by 15.4%”.

The country’s Government believes the use of forced chemical castration to dramatically reduce male libido among convicted paedophiles will reduce sex crimes against children.

Mr Milyuk said: “Legislation has been significantly tightened to prevent crimes against the sexual integrity of children.

“Early parole for paedophiles has been prohibited. Jail terms for rape and sexual violence against children has been increased from 12 years to life.

Kazakhstan now jails all paedophiles in maximum security prisons.

One child rapist, who has been castrated, called for a ban on the “barbaric” procedure.

“It is incredibly difficult. I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy,” the convicted child rapist said after undergoing the first injection to reduce his libido.

He continued: “I am pleading for help, and I want to appeal to everyone so that chemical castration is cancelled.

“I still hope to go back home, to continue my life. I want to have a family, I want to have children.

“My body is aching so badly after the injection that I struggle to walk, and it is scary.”

However, a nurse whose job it is to castrate the sex criminals in one Kazakh jail, claims other countries should follow the example.

Zoya Manaenko, 69, insists it is right that child sex attackers should face this ultimate punishment.

Zoya

She said: “These people need to be stopped somehow.

“They commit terrible crimes against children. So it is right that the law allows this.”

Kazakhstan’s no-tolerance policy includes publishing pictures, names and addresses of all child sex attackers after their release from jail.

Last year a map showed the location of 234 “potentially dangerous paedophiles” after their release.

Among those on the list of shame is Igor Trusov, 60, who sexually abused an eight-year-old and was released in 2018 after a seven-year sentence.

Court of Appeal acquits media mogul, Raymond Dokpesi and his firm on N2.1bn arms deal

The Court of Appeal in Abuja has discharged politician and media mogul, Raymond Dokpesi and his firm, Daar Investment and Holding Company Limited, of the charges of money laundering brought against him in the N2.1 billion Dasuki trial.

Col Sambo Dasuki who was the National Security Adviser (NSA) during the Jonathan administration has been accused of misappropriating N2.1 billion meant for the procurement of arms. It was alleged that Dokpesi collected some of the misappropriated funds.

In two unanimous judgments today Thursday, April 1, a three-man panel at the Court of Appeal upheld the two appeals by Dokpesi and Daar Investment and proceeded to set aside an earlier ruling of a Federal High Court, Abuja, which rejected the no-case submissions made by the appellants.

Reading the judgments on Thursday, Justice Elfreda Wiialims-Daudu held the prosecution did not make out a prima facie case against the appellants and did not also establish the elements of the offences charge to warrant the appellants to be called upon to enter defence.

Elba made it clear in his response that he felt Meghan had been backed into a corner and was given no other option but to speak out.

Jeannie Mai, 42, and Jeezy, 43, got married in an intimate ceremony in Atlanta on March 27, one year after their engagement.

The TV host and the rapper had originally wanted to get married at Lake Como or in the South of France, however, things changed due to the pandemic.

Jeanne said: “We were really looking forward to having all of our friends and family there to celebrate. But we had to change all of our wedding plans due to COVID. After Jeezy’s mother unexpectedly passed, we quickly learned that life is too short. And at the end of the day, Jeezy and I really just wanted to become husband and wife. So we decided to turn our original wedding into a mini-mony, where we exchanged our vows in front of our immediate family and a few close friends.”

In a bid to keep their wedding safe, the couple required negative COVID test results from those traveling in two days prior to the wedding. In addition to that, on the day of the ceremony, they provided COVID tests for everyone attending.

“Once everyone was tested and confirmed negative, our guests were shuttled to the surprise location—our home,” Jeannie said.

Matt Gaetz, US Lawmaker, accused of showing nude photos of women he said he’d slept

It seems like more problems are piling up for Florida Republican lawmaker, Rep. Matt Gaetz, as it’s been alleged he bragged about women he claims he had slept with to his fellow lawmakers and even showed them nude photos of the women.

Gaetz is being investigated by the US Justice Department over sex trafficking allegations.

He made a name for himself when he arrived on Capitol Hill in 2016 as a conservative firebrand on TV and staunch defender of then-President Donald Trump.

According to a new report by CNN, Gaetz gained a reputation in Congress over his relationships with women as he bragged about his sexual escapades to his colleagues.

Gaetz allegedly showed off to other lawmakers photos and videos of nude women he said he had slept with, sources tell CNN, including while on the House floor.

The sources, including two people directly shown the nude photos, said Gaetz displayed the images of women on his phone and talked about having sex with them.

“It was a point of pride,” one of the sources said of Gaetz.

Federal investigators are examining whether Gaetz engaged in a relationship with a woman that began when she was 17 years old and whether his involvement with other young women broke federal sex trafficking and prostitution laws.

He has not yet been charged.

The Justice Department began investigating him in the final months of the Trump administration under then-Attorney General William Barr as part of a larger investigation into another Florida politician.

Gaetz has denied the allegations, saying “no part of the allegations against me are true,” and he claimed Tuesday that he was the victim of an extortion plot, which the FBI is separately investigating.

“Over the past several weeks my family and I have been victims of an organized criminal extortion involving a former DOJ official seeking $25 million while threatening to smear my name. We have been cooperating with federal authorities in this matter and my father has even been wearing a wire at the FBI’s direction to catch these criminals,” Gaetz said in a statement.

After the DOJ investigation into Gaetz surfaced this week, House GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy said Wednesday there were “serious implications” involving the DOJ allegations, adding that he would remove Gaetz from the Judiciary Committee if they were proven true.

“I haven’t heard anything from the DOJ or others, but I will deal with it if anything comes to be true” McCarthy said in response to a question from CNN at a town hall event in Iowa.

Italian businessmen under investigation for planning their own fake ISIS kidnap

Two Italian businessmen are under investigation for allegedly planning their own kidnappings for a share of the ransom money.

Alessandro Sandrini, 32, and Sergio Zanotti, 60, allegedly plotted the scheme with at least three other men.

The gang had promised Sandrini he would be taken to a villa where he would enjoy ‘women alcohol and drugs’, prosecutors say, but instead in October 2016, the gang took him to Adana, Turkey, and sold him to Syrian terror group, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham.

The same thing had happened to Zanotti a few months earlier, in April, but he was taken to Antioch, still in Turkey.

In both kidnaps, the terrorists published disturbing photographs of the men.

Sandrini was pictured on his knees in an orange jumpsuit, with two armed extremists standing behind him.

Jihadists also sent out an image of Zanotti kneeling, wearing a white robe while a suited-up man held a gun behind him.

Zanotti was released exactly three years later and is currently under investigation for his alleged role in the scheme.

Santrini was freed a month before in May 2019, but when he returned to Italy he was immediately put on house arrest over several robberies he allegedly committed before his kidnapping.

Three of the men who Sandrini and Zanotti allegedly plotted with, Italian Alberto Zanini, 54, and Albanians Fredi Frrokaj, 43, and Olsi Mitraj, 41, were arrested in Brescia, northern Italy.

Santrini has claimed that he had not planned his own kidnapping and was simply on holiday in Turkey when he was kidnapped.

Santrini said: ‘I lost my way to the hotel and found myself walking around the streets of Adana.

‘I felt someone putting something on my face. I felt drugged and I fell asleep. I woke up in a room where there were two people who were armed and hooded.’

But anti-terrorism police and the Italian Carabinieri launched a probe into the kidnappings and Santrini was this week charged with fraud and simulating a crime.

Santrini’s ex-girlfriend claims that he had offered her €100,000 (£85,000) to play along with the plot.

She told local media: ‘During the drive to the airport he kept telling me that I should stay calm, because when he got home we’d have loads of money that would come from the foreign ministry as ransom for his release.’

‘Before he left, he assured me that if I kept up the charade with his family, the newspapers and the police, €100,000 (£85,000) would be mine.’

A jailed Paedophile Teacher Chokes to Death while having Breakfast in Prison

A jailed paedophile teacher who targeted teenage boys choked to death on his prison breakfast, an inquest heard.

John McKno, 74, was jailed in 2016 after abusing five pupils at boarding schools in Suffolk, Devon, and Worcestershire in the 1970s and 1980s.

He died at Norwich Prison on September 29 from “cardiac failure” after choking.

McKno, who had a number of health conditions, died through misadventure, an inquest jury concluded.

A Prison Service spokesperson said: “HMP Norwich prisoner John McKno died in prison on 29th September 2019.

“As with all deaths in custody there will be an independent investigation by the Prisons and Probation Ombudsman.”

Mr. McKno worked at Beam College in Great Torrington in Devon, St Michael’s College in Tenbury Wells and Kesgrave Hall School near Ipswich.

Four of McKno’s victims were boys under 16, and one was a boy under 14.

A former pupil at Kesgrave Hall recalled how he slept with “one eye open”.

The victim, now 52, said his childhood was “ruined” by the sick teacher during his trial.

He said: “In the beginning McKno came across as a very nice teacher, a fair teacher and I did well in maths.

“I can’t go into too much detail but I was abused, which ruined my childhood and my trust of teachers, although it only happened once.

“I was scared, kept myself to myself and shut my mouth.”

“Thank the lord he’s going bald anyway, He’s brought shame on redheads, ” British Association of Gingers banishes Prince Harry

Britain’s “Ginger Mafia” has accused Prince Harry of giving redheads a bad name with the way he has treated the royal family.

The highest ranking members of the British Association of Gingers (BAG) have voted in favour of banishing red-haired Harry from their ranks, saying they no longer consider him “part of the gang”.

Harry, who is one of the UK’s highest-profile gingers, along with Ed Sheeran and Mick Hucknall, accused his family of a lack of support for his American wife Meghan.

Harry, 36, said he had been “trapped” in the family, that he felt “let down” by his dad Prince Charles after their security was pulled, and alluded to a rift with his brother Prince William.

Meghan also told how one member of the royal family had voiced “concerns” with Harry about the tone of their son Archie’s skin.

Harry’s fellow redheads did not appreciate the revelation made during the interview so they rebuked him.

Gary ‘Carrot Top’ Smithers, chairman of BAG, said: “As a famous ginger, we expect Harry to really fly the flag for the redhead community in a positive way – you know, like Geri Halliwell and Chris Evans.

Prince Harry

Gary Smithers

“We’re known for having fiery tempers, but the way Harry’s aired his dirty laundry in public and taken aim at his own family, creating a problem for our beloved Queen, is not what we’re about.”

“It was a bit selfish,” added Gary. “To be honest, he’s acted more like a blond than a redhead.

“If he ever returns to the UK – and I hope he doesn’t – he won’t be welcome at BAG meetings or social events. He’s brought shame on redheads and can consider himself excommunicated.

Man whose skin reacted to covid-19 vaccine still advises people to take it, even though his skin peeled & turned red (Photos)

A man, Richard Terrell, 74, from Virginia, US, whose skin turned bright red and peeled off due to an extremely rare reaction to the Covid-19 vaccine has urged people to continue getting the shot regardless.

Richard Terrell, was given the Johnson and Johnson vaccine on March 6 and within days developed an itchy rash all over his body.

covid-19 vaccine

When the rashes didn’t die down, he was taken to ER and doctors confirmed the skin condition had been caused by the vaccine which had sparked a ‘frenzied’ activation of his immune system.

covid-19 vaccine

Some rashes and skin irritations have been associated with the Covid-19 vaccine. But experts say other vaccines for conditions such as teanus and chickenpox, can also cause a similar reaction.

Richard spent five days in hospital and is still recovering his strength but says he has no regrets about getting the vaccine.

covid-19 vaccine

He told WRIC: ‘It all happened so fast. My skin peeled off. It was stinging, burning and itching.

‘Whenever I bent my arms or legs, like the inside of my knee, it was very painful where the skin was swollen and was rubbing against itself.’

On March 6, Terrell received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine in Ashland. He shares that everything went perfectly fine, however four days later he started experiencing symptoms.

“I began to feel a little discomfort in my armpit and then a few days later I began to get an itchy rash, and then after that I began to swell and my skin turned red,” Terrell explained

Richard’s doctor, Fnu Nutan, said she suspected that her patient may have some rare genetic traits that interacted with some of the vaccine ingredients and triggered the painful reaction.

Despite this Terrell and Dr. Nutan are still encouraging people to get vaccinated and monitor their response.

Nutan said: ‘If you look at the risk for adverse reaction for the vaccine it’s really, really low. We haven’t seen a great concern at all. I am a big proponent of the vaccine.’

Babatope Aderinoye, A big boy ‘yahoo yahoo boy’, sentenced to 34 years imprisonment in US

A Nigerian man, Babatope Joseph Aderinoye, 30, was sentenced to 34 years in federal prison  in U.S.for violations related to a bank fraud and money laundering conspiracy.

Aderinoye, aka Eja Nla, lived a glamorous life – travelling to exotic locations, snapping photos with VIPs –  and flaunted them all on social media.

yahoo yahoo boy

However, behind his glamorous life, he was defrauding US citizens and organisations of millions of dollars.

Operating out of Plano, in Texas, Aderinoye carried out schemes, which targeted senior citizens, school districts and charities.

According to FBI Dallas Special Agent in Charge Matthew DeSarno: “The defendant defrauded senior citizens, a school district, and a non-profit aimed at helping the families of the terminally-ill. The money stolen was needed for critical services, basic everyday necessities, and retirement.

“Business Email Compromise is a financially devastating scam that targets both businesses and individuals. The FBI is committed to holding cyber criminals accountable for the harm they do to everyday citizens and our financial institutions.”

CBS DFW reports that according to information presented in court, Aderinoye would obtain fake passports in the names of others. He would then use those fraudulent passports and the identifying information of others to establish false business entities and fraudulent bank accounts.

To this date, 13 individual aliases, 12 business aliases, and over 40 fraudulent bank accounts have been tied to Aderinoye, and there is evidence to suggest more aliases exist.

yahoo yahoo boy

Once Aderinoye opens the fraudulent bank accounts, co-conspirators would engage in various business email compromise scams and telephone compromise scams to defraud individuals and businesses out of money.

In these scams, co-conspirators would pose as a known individual and direct the targeted victims to wire or send funds to Aderinoye or the fraudulent accounts Aderinoye had set up. Once the ill-gotten money is posted in Aderinoye’s fraudulent accounts, he would immediately withdraw the funds, transfer the monies to other fraudulent accounts, or wire them internationally to a bank account he had set up in Nigeria.

The illicit proceeds were used to pay off co-conspirators and further fund their fraudulent schemes.

yahoo yahoo boy

From June 2018 through September 2019, over $6.7 million was deposited into alias accounts of Aderinoye, with almost all of those funds being withdrawn or wired internationally.

Babatope Aderinoye was convicted by a jury on Oct. 14, 2020, of conspiracy to commit bank fraud, wire fraud, and money laundering; wire fraud; aggravated identity theft; and mail fraud.

He was sentenced to 34 years in federal prison by U.S. District Judge Amos Mazzant. He was also ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $1,919,526.13.

Acting U.S. Attorney Nicholas J. Ganjei said: “The types of fraud committed by Mr. Aderinoye and his co-conspirators not only have lasting ramifications for the affected victims, but also threaten the integrity of our country’s financial systems.

“While today’s sentence is a decisive victory for the victims of Mr. Aderinoye and his co-conspirators, the overall fight against cyber fraud continues. EDTX will do everything in its power to bring other cyber criminals to justice, and to recover ill-gotten gains for those victimized.”

Two pilots killed in plane crash as gender-reveal stunt goes wrong (video)

A gender-reveal party stunt went wrong when two pilots died after they crashed into the sea in front of a horrified family.

The tragic incident occurred over the Caribbean Sea in the Nichupte Lagoon off the coast of Cancun in south-eastern Mexico at around 3.30 pm on Tuesday, March 30.

The expecting couple and their family and friends were watching from a boat before the horrific crash.

At one point, the guests are heard exclaiming “It’s a girl!” as the aircraft flew across the ocean with a sign behind it revealing the unborn’s sex.

One of the crowd even joked: “It’s all good as long as it doesn’t end up crashing into us”.

Seconds later, the guests witnessed the plane crashing into the water.

The aircraft disappeared under the waves as the person recording the stunt says: “Surely this can’t be happening.”

The navy came to the aid of the victims, according to the Mexican news outlet Debate.

#HarassBuhariOutofLondon: Reno Omokri to stage protest tomorrow April 2 in London (video)

Reno Omokri says he will be staging a #HarassBuhariOutofLondon march at the Abuja House in the United Kingdom on Friday, April 2.

President Buhari is currently in the UK for a routine medical checkup.

In a video posted online this afternoon, Reno said the President cannot be allowed to go to the UK to seek better health care when he hasn’t accounted for what happened to Nigerian youths at the Lekki tollgate in October 2020 during the EndSARS protest.

The former presidential aide said he will be flying into London tomorrow and from the airport will be going straight to Abuja house to ”harass the President out of London.” He promised to also pay the transport fare of Nigerians residing in the UK who are willing to join him.

”We must harass Buhari out of London and back to Nigeria. On October 20, 2020, this man killed peaceful, unarmed EndSARS protesters at Lekki tollgate. He didn’t care for their life. He just masaccred them. But he cares for his own life. After having dished out death to young Nigerians who were only asking for good governance for their country, this man now wants to come and enjoy the benefits of good governance. After he has given death in Nigeria, he wants to come and give life to himself in London,  No! We must not allow it.

When his own son, Yusuf, had an accident, I prayed for him. Millions of Nigerians prayed for him and then he went to kill our own children at Lekki. What were they doing? They were just asking for good governance, Asking for an end to police brutality. Till today, he has not acknowledged those killings, he has not apologised, they have not been paid compensation, parents are crying. I have reached out to so many of them.

This man must not be allowed to enjoy peace in London.”he said

“Feminism increases Domestic Violences in Marriages” – Pete Edochie

Pete Edochie has blamed feminism for the rise in domestic violence and broken marriages.

Speaking to BBC Igbo, the veteran actor stated that feminism isn’t our culture as Africans.

He added that when a woman leaves her parents and follows her husband, she’s to do whatever her husband wants her to do.

He further stated that in most cases of domestic violence, women are to blame because they are no longer submissive.

He also complained that women today don’t know how to do basic things like cooking to keep their husbands happy, despite getting a formal education.

He said his mother didn’t get a formal education, yet she cooks a variety of dishes very well in a way that’s pleasing to his father.

“Any woman who cannot cook cannot call herself a woman, no,” he said.

He continued: “This thing called feminism, that’s what leads to women getting beaten in marriages.

Feminism kills marriages

“When you talk to a woman, she will respond to you. When she responds to you, you won’t be able to bear it so you’ll stretch out your hand and beat her up.”

He said he doesn’t like seeing women cry because it touches him deeply but women are the ones who do things that lead to the beating.

He went on to say that women’s understanding is limited. He added that he has dealt with a lot of women, including working with them as their boss and he has come to the conclusion that their understanding is small.

He said in Igbo: “Its not everything they explain to you that you people understand. For the record, women’s understanding is limited, let me tell you the truth.

“I don’t hate them but I’ve had dealings with them a lot, including those at work where I’m the head. Their understanding is limited to a large extent, do you understand?”

He also insisted that the African culture doesn’t worship women like they do in western countries.

He said: “This thing called feminism has no usefulness. We don’t worship women in our culture.

“White people worship women.

“If you notice in the western countries, three or four women could arise and say a man touched them inappropriately at work and the man will resign for that reason. Such a thing can’t happen in our land.

“In our culture, if as a woman, no man tells you how good looking you are, you’ll stay in a place, crying, and asking yourself if you’re not good enough to look at. This is how our culture is.”

He reiterated that he’s a man who adheres strongly to our culture and traditions.

For the African men, he said a number of them now practice modern trends that are not African, like kneeling to propose to a woman. He went on to condemn this practice.

“Kneeling down to give a woman a ring because you want to marry her is not our culture as Igbo people.

“Any man who kneels in front of the woman he wants to marry, what that means is that he has taken the headship of his family and handed it over to the woman, that’s what it means.”

Karim Benzema finally speaks after a trial date is set over his alleged role in the 2015 sex-tape blackmail

Karim Benzema has broken his silence after it was announced he will appear in court in October for his alleged role in the 2015 sex-tape blackmail plot of team-mate Mathieu Valbuena.

The Real Madrid striker is suspected of having pressured his former France team-mate to pay blackmailers who threatened to reveal an intimate video in which Valbuena featured.

Karim Benzema

On Tuesday March 30, it was reported Benzema will go on trial from Wednesday, October 20 to Friday, October 22. Four other people will also stand trial in the case.

Benzema responded on his Instagram story, writing alongside a screenshot of the news: ‘Yes, finally. Let the masquerade end forever’

Karim Benzema

Also reacting to news of the trial, Benzema’s lawyer Sylvian Cormier described the decision as ‘absurd’.

‘We are unfortunately not surprised by this decision, which is as absurd as it was expected,’ Cormier said.

‘I am dismayed to note that one is forced to distort the elements gathered in the investigation to justify sending my client before the tribunal.

‘We will explain ourselves before the judges of the tribunal to demonstrate this abuse.’

The striker’s alleged involvement has cost him his place in the France national team since 2015 despite his consistent high-level performances for his club, Real Madrid.

Benzema, who is of Algerian descent, appeared 81 times for France and scored 27 goals before he was kicked out of the national team.

Defence in Derek Chauvin’s murder trial told the jury that ‘George Floyd died from drug overdose’

The defense in the Derek Chauvin murder trial began his opening statement by telling the jury that George Floyd allegedly died from drugs and not by the actions of Chauvin.

Attorney Eric Nelson told the jury there’s evidence that is about more than 9 minutes of video. He then zeroed in on Floyd going to a market shortly before the police confrontation.

He says employees from the market observed Floyd and believed he was under the influence of something. Nelson then raised the issue of Floyd allegedly trying to pass a counterfeit $20 bill.

Nelson says when police got the call from someone inside the market, they said Floyd appeared “drunk.”

He told the jury when Floyd was inside a car after leaving the market he had fallen asleep, again suggesting he was under the influence.

He says when Floyd was confronted by cops, he “put drugs in his mouth” to conceal them, TMZ reports. He says when an autopsy was performed they found a “speedball” in his system, which includes meth and fentanyl.

60624d0e1020e

Nelson says Floyd had incredible strength as he resisted 3 officers. Video shows the car rocking back and forth, indicating there was such a fierce struggle, he said.

He noted Chauvin was 5’9″ and 140 lbs, while Floyd dwarfed him at 6’3″ and 240 lbs, thereby suggesting the force Chauvin used was justified.

He also says Floyd had heart issues that were fatally exacerbated by drug intake.

He also said the growing crowd of horrified onlookers actually exacerbated the situation by hurling names at Chauvin and the other cops.

Nelson implored the jury not to consider this a social justice trial, rather he says it’s a trial of one man.

UK: Pastor Chris Oyakhilome’s TV channel, Loveworld, fined £125,000 fine on for broadcasting conspiracy theories on Coronavirus

Authorities in the United Kingdom have slammed a  £125,000 fine on Loveword TV channel, owned by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, for airing conspiracy theories about Covid-19 that were unproven.

On December 1st 2020, the TV channel had aired a 29-hour programme called the Global Day of Prayer, during which several unfounded claims were made about the coronavirus pandemic. These claims included the notion that the outbreak was ‘planned’, that the ‘sinister’ vaccine can be used to implant ‘nanochips’ that can control and cause harm to members of the public and the theory that the virus was somehow caused by 5G.

Following a detailed investigation by Ofcom, the communications regulatory body in the United Kingdom, it was concluded that the programme breached broadcasting rules by sharing ‘potentially harmful’ claims about COVID19.

This marks the second time in a year that Ofcom has petitioned Loveworld for making unsubstantiated statements about coronavirus.

In a statement released, Ofcom concluded Loveworld’s breach of broadcasting guidelines were ‘serious, repeated and reckless. The broadcasting authority said that the TV channel posed a risk of ‘serious harm’ to viewers who tuned in to watch the programme.

‘Loveworld’s failure to put these unsubstantiated statements into context risked serious harm to its audience,’ the statement said.

Ofcom added that the religious channels had the ‘potential to make people question the measures put in place to curb the spread of the novel Coronavirus.

‘They had the potential to undermine confidence in public health measures put in place to tackle COVID19 at a time when cases, hospital admissions and deaths were rising in the UK, and when people were looking for reliable information given advances in the vaccination programme” Ofcom statement read

Pastor Oyakhilome has repeatedly expressed doubts about the COVID19 pandemic. Recently, he blasted Christian leaders encouraging their members to take the COVID19 vaccine.

Gianluigi Buffon, Juventus goalkeeper, handed one-game ban for Blasphemy after he shouted ‘god is a pig’

Juventus goalkeeper, Gianluigi Buffon has been handed a one-match ban for Blasphemy, the Italian Federal Court of Appeal has ruled.

The veteran Italian goalkeeper, 43, was alleged to have shouted ‘Porco Dio!’, which translates as ‘god is a pig’, towards Juventus team-mate Manolo Portanova.

He was initially given a €5,000 euros (£4,260) fine over an incident that took place during a Serie A clash against Parma on December 19 last year but escaped a ban.

The goalkeeper’s alleged comment was not initially proven by the Italian authorities due to a lack of clear audio but the FIGC’s Court of Appeal upheld the Federal Prosecutor’s appeal and imposed a ban.

The punishment means Buffon is ruled out of the Turin derby with Torino on Saturday April 3.

Back in 2010, the ‘Blashphemy Law’ was introduced and a number of players in Serie A have previously been caught out.

In December 2020, Roma midfielder Bryan Cristante received a one-match ban for using a blasphemous phrase during a 5-1 win over Bologna that was picked up by television camera.

In 2019, Sassuolo player Francesco Magnanelli and Parma’s Matteo Scozzarella, now at Monza, were also punished for a similar offence.

And in 2018, Juventus player Rolando Mandragora was also penalised under the blasphemy laws.

ex. US President, Donald Trump launches a new website after social media bans

Former US President, Donald Trump is back online after launching his “Official Website Of The 45th President” following bans from Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram in the aftermath of the January Capitol insurrection.

“The Office of Donald J. Trump is committed to preserving the magnificent legacy of the Trump Administration, while at the same time advancing the America First agenda,” states the website.

Donald Trump

Trump’s website found at 45office.com said the goal of his office will be to inform, educate and inspire Americans “from all walks of life as we seek to build a truly great American Future” through civic engagement and public activism.

“Through this office, President Trump will remain a tireless champion for the hardworking men and women of our great country – and for their right to live in safety, dignity, prosperity, and peace,” states the website.

The website invites people to “share your thoughts” using an online form with Trump saying he and his wife, Melania, “enjoy hearing from the American people.”

Also shared on the site are their biographies as well as an account of Trump’s record in office, including on “trade, taxes, energy, regulation, immigration, and healthcare.”

The website made no mention of his two impeachment trials. It does reference how “the coronavirus plague arrived from China,” and says that Trump “acted early and decisively to ban travel from China and Europe, which saved countless lives.”

But as of Tuesday, Covid-19 has killed at least 550,371 people and infected about 30.3 million in the United States since last January, according to data by Johns Hopkins University.

The site also includes more than a dozen pictures of himself, including photos of him greeting North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un. Other photos are of the president and Melania Trump dancing at the inaugural ball and at black-tie dinners in the White House.

Myanmar: UN condemns military’s attacks on protesters after over 114 people are killed in one day

Following another day of widespread bloodshed by the Myanmar military that left at least 114 people dead in just one day, top senior UN officials have denounced the “systematic” attacks on peaceful demonstrators in Myanmar stating that the international community has a responsibility to protect the people from atrocities.

Alice Wairimu Nderitu, Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide, and Michelle Bachelet, High Commissioner for Human Rights, strongly condemned the Myanmar military’s widespread and lethal attacks against peaceful protesters, as well as other serious violations of human rights since the military in the country seized power on 1 February.

“The shameful, cowardly, brutal actions of the military and police – who have been filmed shooting at protesters as they flee, and who have not even spared young children – must be halted immediately”, they said in a joint statement on Sunday, March 28.

Over the weekend, security forces killed at least 114 individuals – including seven children – according to multiple credible reports, with the number of deaths expected to rise as reports are confirmed.

Hundreds more were wounded and detained during these attacks in over 40 locations throughout the country, and thousands have been arbitrarily arrested.

bloodshed by the Myanmar military

The UN officials called on the military to immediately stop killing its  citizens while calling on the UN Security Council to promptly act to protect the people.

“Although the State has the primary responsibility to safeguard its population, in cases where it is manifestly failing, the international community should take timely and collective action in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations to protect civilian populations that are at risk of atrocity crimes”, the statement continued.

“We must ensure accountability for past crimes and deter the most serious international crimes from being committed”, they stated.

“The failure to address the atrocity crimes the military has committed in the past, including against Rohingya and other minorities, has brought Myanmar to this terrible pass”.

bloodshed by the Myanmar military

They also urged all parties – including defecting officials, police and military officers – to cooperate with international mechanisms, including the International Criminal Court (ICC) and the Human Rights Council’s Independent Investigative Mechanism for Myanmar, in fighting impunity in the country.

“There is no way forward without accountability and fundamental reform of the military”, they stressed.

“We are deeply concerned about the impact that the current situation may have on these populations and are closely monitoring developments. The rights of minority groups, including the Rohingya population must be fully respected”, the two UN officials stated.

The UN Security council is set to sit on Myanmar situation as protesters in the country refuse to give up and say they will go ahead with their daily protests till their democratically elected leaders are freed by the Myanmar military.

Tinubu tells #endsars protesters to allow govt to act on their demands

A Wikipedia page showing a short biography of All Progressives Congress Chieftain, Bola Tinubu has been locked after the age section of his profile was reportedly edited 84 times.

The age of former Governor of Lagos was edited several times following the controversy that trailed his 69th birthday celebration on Monday March 29. It was learnt that numerous accounts took to Wikipedia to edit Tinubu’s age from 69 to 79 after many social media users suggested that he is above the age he celebrated yesterday.

84 edits were carried out on Tinubu’s page on his birthday and most of them were on the age section of his profile.

The Cable reported that the protection level on Tinubu’s page was raised by Girth Summit, a Scottish Wikipedia editor who has worked on articles from more than 20 countries. Summit’s reason for blocking edit from the page is “persistent vandalism”.

Kate Middleton’s family finally speaks on Meghan Markle crying claims

Kate Middleton’s uncle, Gary Goldsmith, has spoken out about Meghan Markle claiming Kate Middleton made her cry during a bridesmaid fitting ahead of her wedding.

Speaking to the Mail on Sunday, he said: “I’ve known Kate since she was born and she doesn’t have a mean bone in her body. It’s just simply not in her nature.

“She’s even lovelier on the inside than on the outside. If anyone had a hissy fit, it must have been Meghan.”

He continued: “Kate would have been trying to make the peace. I would fight for Kate’s honor until the day I die. She is the most spectacular person I’ve ever met.”

Kate’s uncle was not in the room at the time the altercation happened.

Though Kate hasn’t spoken out about the incident publicly, royal reporter Katie Nicholl told OK! magazine that Kate felt it “was all sorted, so to have it brought up again was mortifying.”

Nicholl also said, “From what I hear, there are different versions of the bridesmaid story, not just the one Meghan discussed” and that Kate is “not in a position to respond” to Meghan’s claim.

Sergio Aguero, Manchester City star, reveals that he’s leaving the club soon

Manchester City star legend, Sergio Aguero has announced he will leave the club at the end of the season.

The 32-year-old striker’s contract expires at the end of the season and he has been told it will not be renewed after making 14 appearances so far this season due to injuries and illness.

The Argentine international, who signed from Atletico Madrid in 2011, has scored 257 goals in 384 appearances for the club.

“When a cycle comes to an end, many sensations arise,” Aguero said in a statement. “A huge sense of satisfaction and pride remains in me for having played with Manchester City for a whole ten seasons—unusual for a professional player in this day and age.

“… As for myself I will continue to give it my utmost for the rest of the season with more titles and bring more joy to the fans. Then a new stage with new challenges will begin, and I am fully ready to face them with the same passion and professionalism that I have always dedicated to continue competing at the highest level.”

He will be honoured by a statue at Etihad Stadium, alongside Vincent Kompany and David Silva, who left the club in 2019 and 2020 respectively.

City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak said: “Sergio’s contribution to Manchester City over the last 10 years cannot be overstated. His legend will be indelibly etched into the memories of everyone who loves the Club and maybe even in those who simply love football.

“This is not yet the moment for farewell words and speeches. There is still much to achieve in the remainder of the time we have with Sergio, and we look forward to his contributions to the challenges which lay ahead.

“In the meantime, it gives me great pleasure to announce that we will be commissioning an artist to create a statue of Sergio to live at the Etihad Stadium alongside the ones under construction for Vincent and David. And we look forward to the opportunity to bid Sergio a fitting farewell at the end of the season.”

The Argentine striker has helped City win four Premier League titles, an FA Cup, and five League Cups over his 10-year stay, with the club still chasing a quadruple this season.

Aguero is also City’s record goalscorer, with 257 goals in 384 appearances for the club, having surpassed Eric Brook’s 78-year record in 2017.

Karim Benzema, Real Madrid striker, goes for trial in October for alleged sex tape blackmail

Real Madrid striker,  Karim Benzema will face trial in October for his alleged involvement in blackmailing former France teammate Mathieu Valbuena over a sex tape, prosecutors have said.

The French man will stand trial from October 20 to 22 on the charge of complicity in attempted blackmail, the Versailles prosecutor’s office said.

Four other people will also stand trial in the case.

The Real Madrid striker is accused of pressuring Valbuena in 2015 to pay blackmailers who threatened to reveal an intimate video in which Valbuena featured.

Benzema has been banned from the national team since November 2015 because of his suspected involvement in the scandal.

The investigators who charged Benzema believe he was approached by a childhood friend that year to act as an intermediary and convince Valbuena to deal directly with the blackmailers. Instead, Valbuena informed the police.

When the story broke, Benzema faced huge criticism and then Prime Minister Manuel Valls said he had “no place” in the national team.

Benzema, who is of Algerian descent, appeared 81 times for France and scored 27 goals before he was kicked out of the national team.

ISIS brags of killing Christians in Mozambique massacre

Terror group, ISIS has bragged of ‘killing dozens of Mozambican armed forces and the Christians’ in a days-long attack near a major gas plant in the country’s northeast.

During the assault which started on Wednesday March 24 and lasted till Monday March 29, scores of people were killed, including an unnamed British contractor, who died when an escape convoy from a hotel was ambushed by the terrorists.

In a new statement issued by its Amaq news agency, ISIS claimed responsibility while posting a photo of militants from the group celebrating the capture of the town of Palma.

ISIS

ISIS alleged that 55 people have been killed but this figure has not been verified by any top media agency.

Tales of horror emerged on Monday as some survivors made it to safety and established contact with loved ones but dozens of expatriates remain unaccounted for .

ISIS

Sixty people were left in a convoy of 17 vehicles that was ambushed on Friday but only seven of the vehicles made it past the militants who were waiting for them.

The fate of those in the cars that escaped, and the 100 people who remained at the lodge, is still unknown as at press time.

A small United Nations plane carrying adults and children – including an injured one-year-old baby – arrived on Monday at the airport in Pemba, the provincial capital of the country.

According to the Lusa news agency, a bullet hit the baby’s leg while he was in his mother’s arms as they ran from the rebels.

Philip Mawer, from the UK (pictured below) has not been heard from since attempting to flee the attack.

ISIS

Even as expatriates tried to evacuate via Sea on Friday, the plans were thwarted as militants patrolled the hotel’s beach.

Previously on Thursday, twenty-five people had been airlifted out of the country but the following day the insurgents advanced, making rescue by air impossible.

‘They were panicking that they would not survive another night, there was no one coming to get them, Johann Anderson, who was communicating with the group from a secured area owned by French energy giant Total, told The Times.

Al-Shabab, an ISIS-affiliated jihadi group with no links to the Somali militants, has made gains in Cabo Delgado, the northeast of Mozambique, and seized the strategic port of Mocimboa da Praia in August before the latest attack in Palma.

Nick Alexander, a dual British-South African citizen, was rescued on Sunday having spent two nights crawling through the bush after the ambush.

Alexander was travelling in the back of the convoy when he made his escape.

After spending two days hiding out, he found safety on Sunday and made contact with his daughter Jayde, 29, in Johannesburg.

She told The Times that her father saw the ambush up ahead so jumped out of his vehicle and grabbed an AK-47 that was in a nearby government vehicle.

‘He and two others from the car then ran to hide into the bushes with the gun. They were literally crawling through the bush until they were rescued.’

ISIS insurgents are fighting against Western and Christian values as they seek to install a radical form of Islam and Sharia law in the country, targeting civilians as security forces struggle to quell their uprising.

Their attacks have left an estimated 2,600 dead and caused 670,000 to flee their homes, in Mozambique creating a humanitarian crisis

South African man who raped his 10yr stepdaughter severally sentenced 400 years in jail

The rapist during his appearance in the Verulam magistrate’s court

A 46-year-old man who raped his 10-year-old stepdaughter close to 1,000 times over five years was sentenced to nine life terms in the Durban high court in South Africa on Friday, March 26.

The man was further given a 173-year prison sentence after being found guilty of 56 counts relating to rape, human trafficking, sexual grooming, sexual abuse and distribution of child pornography.

The house where the man kept the girl hostage for years

The Sunday Times Daily reported that the man, an auto electrician by trade who cannot be named to protect the identity of the child, had also deliberately laced his fingers with acid to burn off his fingerprints in an apparent attempt to prevent him being linked to other crimes.

He was arrested in June 2018 at his home in Verulam, north of Durban, after the child confided in a neighbour about the alleged abuses.

The neighbour rallied a group of women who confronted the man when he returned home from work.

South African man who raped his 10-year-old stepdaughter over 900 times sentenced to 400 years imprisonment

The accused during his arrest in June 2018

Private security company Reaction Unit SA (Rusa) spokesperson Prem Balram said they were called in for assistance after a group of residents had discovered horrifying videos of the rapes on the man’s mobile phone.

“His mobile phone was confiscated and several video recordings of rape were found. Recordings of other men and woman engaged in sexual activity with the child were also found on the memory card. Pictures of the accused using woman’s lingerie were also discovered on the phone.”

Dildos and other sex toys used to penetrate the girl during sexual acts were also confiscated in the home.

During the trial it was revealed he man had raped his stepdaughter since the death of her mother in 2013 almost every second day at their residences in Benoni, Effingham, Pinetown, Reservoir Hills, Sydenham and other areas in Gauteng and Kwazulu-Natal.

Judge Mohini Moodley found the accused guilty of all 56 charges and said he should be registered as a sex offender and not be allowed near chil

Moodley said the stepfather had prostituted the child for financial gain and the investigating officer, Nevarge Lutchminarain of the Verulam family violence, child protection and sexual offences unit, should pursue charges against all those who abused the child sexually.

Reading out her lengthy sentence, Moodley said the man showed no empathy towards the child, moving her from one home to another. Preventing her from having any communication with other children or her community.

She said she found it troubling that with three young biological daughters of his own, the accused felt nothing for the survivor but instead exposed her to pornography and recruited others to groom her.

Judge Moodley said the man was driven by his own ego and lies. This was evident in how he once stormed out of the witness box and hurled abuse and threats in court while claiming to be the victim of betrayal.

She said although a first time offender – rehabilitation was out of the equation as once a heinous crime is committed repeatedly to such an extent, then the safety of the community takes priority.

Investigating officer, Lutchminarain had previously detailed how the accused had issued threats to all those who he felt had contributed to his incarceration.

“I spoke to the applicant and he told me to pass on a message to the victim, specifically not to forget what he had promised her. When I spoke to her, she said the applicant had told her if she went to the police they would both be locked up and  he would put her in the same place he put her mother,” he said.

The one-bedroom home where the man had kept the girl hostage for years had one entrance with a bolted door and windows blacked out with newspaper.

The rapist will serve his almost 400-year prison sentence at Durban’s Westville Correctional Centre.

Teenager certified dead wakes up as his organs are about to be donated

A teenager declared dead after being hit by a van woke up as his organs were about to be donated.

Family members were told Lewis Roberts, 18, was brain dead four days after the crash in Leek, Staffordshire,  England, according to StokeonTrentLive.

His life support machine was to be turned off and his relatives agreed for his organs to be donated to help save other lives.

Fortunately, this bought the teen extra time on the life support machine as they needed it on until they could go in for surgery to remove his organs.

Miraculously, he began to breathe hours before the surgery to remove his organs.

Teenager certified dead

Chloe Roberts, said in an online fundraiser for Lewis: “On March 13, Lewis suffered catastrophic head injuries when he was struck by a van in his hometown of Leek and was flown to hospital where he underwent emergency surgery.

Teenager certified dead

Lewis with his sister, Jade Roberts,  before the accident

“Four days later, the doctors broke the news to our family that nothing more could be done as he had unfortunately suffered a ‘brain stem death’ and sadly passed away.

“After saying our goodbyes to Lewis, close family bravely agreed for his organs to be donated to help the lives of seven other people.

“This bought Lewis extra time before his life support machine was turned off. Just hours before Lewis’ surgery, he began to breathe again on his own. A miracle any family could wish for after being told he had zero chance of pulling through.

“After this Lewis has carried on progressing. He has started to react to pain tests, moving his limbs on his own, and also moving his head from side to side, blinking and also moving his mouth. Every day, this boy is getting stronger.

“Many people have asked to send money for a pint for Lewis. Any money that is sent will be for Lewis when he is home and back on his feet.

“We would just like to say, as a family, thank you so much and we are very grateful for everyone’s prayers and best wishes for Lewis.”

More than £1,000 has already been raised for the 18-year-old through the ‘A Pint for Lewis’ online appeal.
