Henry Okoye, brother of former P-Square members Peter and Paul Okoye, has expressed doubts that the estranged twins will ever fully reconcile, suggesting that their prolonged dispute may have caused lasting damage to their relationship.
Henry made the remarks during an interview with social commentator Jos Connection at the Okoye family residence in Plateau State on Friday, while discussing the latest tensions involving the once-popular music duo. According to him, although Peter has made attempts to resolve the disagreements, he remains uncertain that the brothers can restore the close relationship they once had.
Henry nevertheless appealed to Paul to consider ending the feud with Peter, recalling the support he said Peter provided when he was hospitalised. He described Paul as someone who was once exceptionally kind and expressed surprise at how much their relationship had deteriorated over the years.
“Peter is trying. I don’t know if Jude used juju on Paul because he was the nicest person in the family before. But the way he changed is surprising,” Henry said, while recounting his perspective on the dispute and the events that led to the breakdown of the family relationship.
He also recalled an earlier disagreement over finances, claiming that he and his brothers had initially agreed that he would receive 20 per cent once they began making money. Henry alleged that their elder brother, Jude Okoye, later intervened and rejected the arrangement.
According to Henry, he challenged Jude over his involvement, arguing that Jude had not been present when the family began their musical journey but later became involved in decisions that affected the brothers and other family members.
Despite his desire to see Peter and Paul reunite, Henry admitted that he was not confident it would happen. “I will be happy for them to come back together, but I don’t think it will happen. Paul was a very kind person,” he said.
Henry also recounted a separate incident concerning his finances following the death of his wife’s father. He claimed that when he raised the matter with Peter, the singer directed him to Jude, saying Jude was responsible for holding the money. Henry said he wanted the entire family to reunite and had made several attempts to bring the siblings together, including efforts involving prominent individuals.
He further called on Jude to help restore peace within the family by addressing the disagreements between the siblings. Henry also urged Paul to forgive Peter, again pointing to the support Peter allegedly provided when Paul was ill.
The latest appeal comes against the backdrop of a long-running dispute involving Peter, Paul and their elder brother Jude, who previously played a management role in P-Square’s career.
The disagreement between the twins dates back several years and contributed to the group’s initial split in 2017. Their reunion in 2021 generated excitement among fans, who hoped the brothers had finally put their differences aside. However, the reconciliation did not last, and tensions resurfaced in 2024.
The renewed dispute became increasingly public after Peter accused Paul and Jude of actions he claimed were detrimental to his interests. Peter also raised questions about the management of P-Square’s finances and alleged that royalties belonging to the group were being collected through another company, Northside Music Limited, which he claimed was connected to Jude and his wife.
Paul rejected Peter’s accusations and publicly defended Jude, while also accusing Peter of being responsible for the legal difficulties facing their elder brother. In February 2025, Paul said he was supporting Jude because he believed his brother knew the truth about the allegations against him.
Jude was subsequently arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission over allegations involving ₦1.38bn, $1m and £34,537.59. He pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Peter later testified in the case against Jude, alleging that the former P-Square manager secretly incorporated Northside Music Limited and used the company to receive royalties that belonged to the group.
The financial dispute has continued in court. During cross-examination in February 2026, Peter reportedly acknowledged that he was a co-signatory to the Northside Entertainment Limited account, contradicting an earlier position in which he had stated that Jude was the sole signatory.
The disagreement has since extended beyond the courtroom, with Peter and Paul making opposing claims about their relationship and the role Jude played in the eventual collapse of P-Square.
Henry’s latest intervention adds another voice from within the Okoye family calling for reconciliation. Although he remains pessimistic about the possibility of Peter and Paul returning to the relationship they once enjoyed, he said he had forgiven his siblings and continued to hope that the family could eventually put the prolonged dispute behind them.
