Police Don Summon VDM! AIG Also Under Investigation as NPF Says “Court Go Decide, Not Social Media!

The Nigeria Police Force has responded to the ongoing controversy involving social media activist Martins Otse and Moshood Jimoh, insisting that the matter will be handled through the legal system—not on social media.

According to the police, the criminal case linked to the dispute has already been investigated and is now before a competent court after advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecutions. They emphasized that only the judiciary can determine the outcome.

The Force also confirmed that the Assistant Inspector-General in charge of the Force CID has invited AIG Moshood Jimoh for questioning over the allegations against him. At the same time, the Force CID in Abuja formally invited VeryDarkMan on July 30, 2026, asking him to provide evidence to support the claims he made publicly.

The police said no officer is above the law and promised that anyone found guilty after investigation would face disciplinary action. However, they also warned that false or defamatory allegations made to damage reputations could have legal consequences.

The Nigeria Police urged VeryDarkMan to honour the invitation and allow both the investigation and the ongoing court proceedings to take their lawful course
