Diddy’s prison release date moved up again as appeal of conviction continues

Sean “Diddy” Combs is now scheduled to be released from federal prison on February 23, 2028, according to the U.S. Federal Bureau of Prisons, moving his release date up by several months.

The music mogul, 56, is serving a 50-month sentence at the Federal Correctional Institution in Fort Dix, New Jersey, after being convicted in July 2025 on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. He was acquitted of more serious sex-trafficking and racketeering charges that could have resulted in a life sentence.

Combs’ original release date was June 4, 2028, before being adjusted to April 2028 earlier this year. The latest update advances his projected release to February 23, 2028.

His legal team is continuing to challenge both the conviction and sentence before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Attorneys argue that the Mann Act was improperly applied and claim the sentence was unfairly increased based on allegations tied to charges for which Combs was acquitted.

The appeal remains ongoing, with the court yet to issue a final decision.
