Samuel Chukwueze Joins on Loan for a Premier League Fresh Start!

Big news from Craven Cottage! Fulham has officially announced the season-long loan signing of Nigerian international winger, Samuel Chukwueze, from Italian giants AC Milan. This exciting move sees the pacy attacker bring his electrifying style to the Premier League, and notably, team up with his compatriots Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey.

Chukwueze, who completed his medical at the club’s training ground on Monday before jetting off to join the Super Eagles for their World Cup qualifiers, arrives at Fulham on an initial loan with an option to buy. While not mandatory, reports from Italian transfer experts suggest that if the option is exercised, the total package could reach a fee of over €25m.

A Milan Chapter of Mixed Fortunes

The 26-year-old joined AC Milan in the summer of 2023 from Spanish club Villarreal in a deal valued at €20m. High hopes accompanied his arrival at San Siro, but Chukwueze has, unfortunately, struggled to establish himself as a regular starter for the Rossoneri over his two seasons there.

His 2024/25 campaign saw him make 26 appearances in Serie A, with just nine starts, accumulating 918 minutes, contributing three goals and two assists. This season, his involvement has been even more limited, featuring for only 26 minutes in Milan’s league opener against Cremonese. In total, he notched four goals and five assists in 51 league appearances for the club, despite having three years remaining on his contract.

Why Fulham is the Perfect Stage for a Reset

A move to Fulham, and the Premier League, represents a significant fresh start for Chukwueze. His attributes – blistering speed, exceptional dribbling ability, and a direct threat on goal – are arguably tailor-made for the fast-paced, physical demands of English football. Manager Marco Silva will undoubtedly be keen to unleash him on the Premier League’s flanks, where he could thrive with consistent game time and tactical freedom.

Interestingly, Fulham were linked with Chukwueze back in January, but the deal ultimately fell through. Now, with the opportunity arising again, both parties seem eager to make it work.

The Nigerian Connection at Craven Cottage

Beyond the tactical fit, the social aspect of this transfer cannot be overstated. Joining fellow Nigerian internationals Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey will provide an immediate sense of camaraderie and understanding for Chukwueze. This “Nigerian contingent” at Craven Cottage could foster a strong team spirit and help Chukwueze settle quickly, allowing him to focus on rediscovering his electrifying form.

Fulham fans have every reason to be excited about this acquisition. Samuel Chukwueze possesses the raw talent and potential to be a game-changer. With a fresh environment, the trust of a new manager, and the support of his compatriots, Craven Cottage could very well be the stage where the Nigerian winger finally consistently shines. We can’t wait to see him in action!
