Galatasaray coach Okan Buruk is eagerly anticipating the return of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, as the Turkish champions are reportedly on the verge of completing a high-profile permanent transfer for the prolific forward from Napoli.
After protracted negotiations, Galatasaray is now in the final stages of sealing the deal with the Italian club. Coach Buruk himself confirmed that talks between both clubs are progressing positively, with only minor details remaining outstanding before the transfer can be formalized.
According to multiple reports, Galatasaray is prepared to commit a substantial total of €75 million for Osimhen. This significant investment is structured with an initial payment of €40 million upfront, with the remaining €35 million due by 2026.
The intricate deal also includes specific conditions. A key clause will reportedly bar Osimhen from making a return to Italy’s Serie A league within two years of the transfer. Furthermore, Napoli will retain a 10 per cent sell-on clause, ensuring they benefit from any future transfer of the player from Galatasaray.
Osimhen’s impending permanent switch comes after a sensational loan spell last season, during which he proved to be an indispensable asset for the Turkish giants. He netted an impressive 37 goals in 41 appearances across all competitions, a phenomenal contribution that was instrumental in securing Galatasaray a domestic double. The player himself is understood to have already given his enthusiastic approval for the move.
The formalization of this deal would mark a significant coup for Galatasaray, securing a proven goalscorer who has already demonstrated his immense value and played a pivotal role in the club’s recent success. Fans are eagerly awaiting the official announcement that will bring their star striker back to the Turk Telekom Stadium on a permanent basis.
