Osimhen Gives Green Light for Sensational Galatasaray Return Amid Napoli Standoff

Nigerian superstar Victor Osimhen has reportedly given his unequivocal approval to join Turkish giants Galatasaray, signaling a clear intent to depart Napoli despite weeks of pleas from the Italian club to retain his services.

According to reputable Nigerian journalist Buchi Laba, Osimhen’s stance is unwavering: “Victor James Osimhen says YES to Galatasaray & wants to continue with the Turkish team.” This definitive statement suggests the striker is eager to finalize a permanent move back to Istanbul, where he enjoyed a phenomenal loan spell last season.

Napoli, who have spent considerable effort trying to convince Osimhen to stay, now face the reality of his desire to leave. The focus has swiftly shifted to the negotiation table, where Galatasaray and Napoli are currently discussing the payment of his release clause.

Further solidifying the reports, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has also confirmed Osimhen’s keen interest in rejoining the Turkish champions. Romano revealed that Galatasaray has submitted an opening bid of €50 million plus €5 million in add-ons. However, Napoli, keen to secure a higher fee for their prized asset, is reportedly demanding a more substantial sum.

Osimhen’s strong desire to return to Istanbul stems from his incredibly successful stint on loan at Galatasaray last season. During that period, he was nothing short of sensational, netting an impressive 37 goals and providing seven assists. His prolific form saw him win both the Golden Boot and a domestic double with the club, cementing his status as a fan favourite and a key figure in their historical success.

Despite previous widespread reports linking the prolific striker to Premier League giants like Chelsea, Manchester United, and Liverpool, as well as Serie A rivals Juventus and Arsenal, none of these discussions ever materialized into concrete negotiations. This has seemingly cleared the path for Galatasaray to pursue a permanent reunion with their former loan star.

Should an agreement be reached on the transfer fee, Osimhen’s return would mark a significant coup for Galatasaray and bring to an end a protracted transfer saga, fulfilling the striker’s clear wish to continue his career in Turkey.
