Youtuber, Logan Paul brags facing Mike Tyson after surviving Floyd Mayweather

Logan Paul has hinted he could go all the way to face Mike Tyson after surviving eight rounds with Floyd Mayweather earlier this month.

The YouTuber, who recently faced Mayweather on June 6 escaped being knockout by the American boxing icon.

Paul, 26, is now likely to continue his boxing career and claims age would be on his side if he took on Iron Mike, who turns 55 at the end of this month.

The YouTuber told his Impaulsive podcast: ‘Someone mentioned Mike Tyson. My lawyer mentioned it and he’s like, “Nah, Tyson will rip your head off, you don’t stand a chance.”

I’m like, “I just went through all this.” You can’t tell me I can’t beat Mike Tyson. He’s old, old.’

Tyson recently returned to the ring for a post-retirement exhibition fight with Roy Jones Jr, with the November 2020 fight ending in a draw.

Mayweather, who retired from boxing in 2017 with a perfect 50-0 record, was surprisingly unable to stop Paul at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.

Bride dies on wedding night while having s3x with husband

An 18-year-old newlywed bride reportedly died on her wedding night whilst having sex with her husband.

The Sun reported that the lady who was consummating her marriage with her 29-year-old new husband, started to feel unwell and collapsed at their home in the city of Ibirite in Brazil on Thursday evening.

The couple had gotten married during a ceremony at the husband’s farm earlier in the day. According to O Tempo, the husband dashed out to call his neighbour for help and ordered a taxi to take his wife to hospital but its driver refused.

A second taxi was called, but the driver also refused to help and said the husband needed to call the emergency services instead.

It was gathered that when the paramedics finally arrived, they found the woman struggling to breathe and confirmed she had suffered a heart attack. She sadly died on the way to the hospital.

While the distraught husband alleged that it took an hour for the ambulance to arrive at their home, the emergency services said the first ambulance was cancelled and then the second arrived within 21 minutes.

The bride’s death has been ruled as accidental as her body showed no signs of foul play or violence. A neighbor reportedly told the police she didn’t hear any screams or noises before the woman died.

Post-mortem examination found the woman had a history of bronchitis. The distraught man who spoke to newsmen, said he wasn’t sure if he could continue living in the same Brazilian city following his wife’s death.

Lady kills her baby boy by shaking him so hard he suffered ‘serious brain injuries’

A mum, Chelsea Cuthbertson, 28, allegedly murdered her six-week-old son by shaking him so hard he suffered catastrophic brain injuries, a jury has heard.

Chelsea called for an ambulance and said son Malakai Watts was not breathing but doctors discovered his cardiac arrest was most likely allegedly caused by a ‘non-accidental injury’.

He was rushed 10 miles from her flat in Hythe, Hampshire, UK to Southampton General Hospital on February 2, 2019 but died four days later after he was taken off life support.

Mum

A jury was told how Malakai was ‘grey from head to toe’ when police arrived at the two-bedroom flat.

On Tuesday, June 15, Chelsea, appeared at Winchester Crown Court, Hants, where prosecutor Sally Howes QC explained the cause of death was recorded as ‘head injury’.

Examinations also revealed he had suffered eight rib fractures.

Prosecutor Ms Howes said: “He was born one of twins on December 25, 2018, the son of defendant Chelsea Cuthbertson and her partner Dell Watts.

“Following a cardio respiratory collapse on February 2, 2019, Malakai was taken by ambulance to Southampton General Hospital. Following an initial assessment he was placed on the paediatric intensive care unit.

“On February 6, 2019, when following the decision to withdraw life support, he died. An extensive post-mortem investigation identified findings consistent with traumatic head injury.

“The key mechanism was some form of shaking, possibly with some form of impact.

“The post mortem investigation also identified eight rib fractures, one of which is clearly older than all the others and therefore must have been sustained on an earlier occasion.”

Ms Howes told the court that post mortem investigations pointed to Malakai having been shaken while being squeezed.

Neuropathologist discovered several internal haemorrhages which were described as being commonly found following a ‘shaking’ incident

Ms Howes added that the rib fractures, coupled with the other findings, ‘all starts to dovetail in together’ to suggest a shaking incident caused the injuries.

She told the jury the force needed to inflict these injuries would have been ‘well in excess of a normal day to day play with the child, even during rough play’.

Ms Howes read a quote from the forensic pathologists report, which said: ‘Malakai died as a result of a head injury sustained shortly before, if not coinciding with, his medical collapse and this was accompanied with a squeezing type injury to his chest.’

Malakai was taken off life support at 11.33am on February 6 and died at 1.48pm that afternoon.

His parents were both arrested for his attempted murder on February 2 while he was still alive in hospital. During his arrest, Mr Watts said: ‘She hasn’t hurt him, has she?’

The jury heard how Cuthbertson met Mr Watts in August 2014 and they had a daughter together in February 2016, following which they moved into the flat in Hythe.

Prosecutor Howes added: “Both Chelsea Cuthbertson and Dell Watts were habitual users of cannabis and also took cocaine on a less frequent basis.”

She explained that Mr Watts moved out due to ‘friction’ in their ‘on and off’ relationship, but returned home when the twins were born several weeks premature, with an expected due date of February 5, 2019.

Malakai was born the smaller of the two twins but they were both discharged from hospital on January 9.

Ms Howes explained that Mr Watts remembers being woken by Malakai ‘crying’ at about 3am on the day the ambulance was called.

She said: “The twins slept in separate cribs next to the bed on the side that Miss Cuthbertson used.

“Approximately five minutes after being settled, Malakai started breathing quickly. He [Mr Watts] described it as being panting. He asked her if he was ok, she said he was fine. This continued for about ten minutes and then returned to normal.”

Ms Howes explained that the twins woke for their 4am feed, and Mr Watts left the room several times to bring the bottles in after Chelsea Cuthbertson said to him ‘Oh, well there are fucking two of them’.

She explained that Mr Watts ‘could tell that Chelsea Cuthbertson was about to get angry and argumentative with him’ so he went and slept on the sofa.

The next morning he left for work after peering through the door and hearing Cuthbertson ‘snoring’.

According to Howes Watts did not check on the children before he left.

At 9.30am, Cuthbertson called 999, reporting her baby boy was not breathing.

Ms Howes described the paramedic arriving to find Cuthbertson giving CPR to Malakai on the floor of the bedroom, with the older daughter ‘distraught and crying’ by the foot of the bed.

The court heard the paramedic described the baby as ‘floppy’ with ‘pale’ lips.

Another ambulance crew and a helicopter team arrived to assist and were able to get circulation flowing before he was transferred into an ambulance and sent to hospital.

Ms Howes said upon examination it was found that Malakai showed signs of internal bleeding which ‘raised the possibility of non-accidental injury’.

The first police officer on scene spoke to Cuthbertson, who told her that she had gone outside for five minutes to have a cigarette and that when she came back, Malakai was not breathing.

The court heard that once at hospital Malakai had an emergency ultrasound and a CT scan which found ‘catastrophic signs of brain injury’.

Ms Howes said it was the opinion of doctors the physical injuries meant non-accidental injury was ‘the most likely cause of his cardiac arrest’.

Cuthbertson denies murder charges. The trial continues.

Over 30 women sue Pornhub for publishing their intimate videos without their consent

More than 30 women have sued pornographic content company, Pornhub, alleging exploitation for using their explicit videos without seeking their permission.

The women say the videos were uploaded to Pornhub without their consent and have lodged a civil suit in California accusing Mindgeek, the parent company of Pornhub of running a “criminal enterprise”.

Pornhub’s content is mostly uploaded by its own community but the public can see it. However, the company has said every video uploaded is reviewed by human moderators.

Brown Rudnick LLP, the law firm representing the plaintiffs, says the lawsuit alleges claims under the Victims of Trafficking and Violence Protection Act of 2000.

One of the women in the suit told CBS she was only 17 when her boyfriend coerced her into making a nude video. The woman, who used the pseudonym Isabella, said the video was later posted on Pornhub without her consent and she only found out about it from a friend.

Pornhub received 42 billion site visits in 2019, with 6.83 million videos uploaded, for a combined viewing time of 169 years.

In a statement, Pornhub called the allegations “utterly absurd, completely reckless and categorically false”.

Pornhub told the BBC: “Pornhub has zero tolerance for illegal content and investigates any complaint or allegation made about content on our platforms.”

“We have the most comprehensive safeguards in user-generated platform history, which include the banning of uploads from unverified users”.

Pornhub said it “takes every complaint regarding the abuse of its platform seriously, including those of the plaintiffs in this case”.

It added that it did not intend to let the “hyperbolic language in the lawsuit distract from the fact that Pornhub has in place a safety and security policy that surpasses that of any other major platform on the internet”.

Pornhub does not require its users to verify the identity or age of those featured in its videos – nor does it seek to confirm the consent of people who appear in videos posted to the site.

The new allegations comes after a New York Times investigation in April accused Pornhub of being “infested” with child-abuse and rape-related videos claims the site denied.

2 Nigerian women running a prostitution network found guilty of human trafficking offences in Ireland

Two Nigerian women who ran a prostitution ring from a base in Mullingar have been found guilty of human trafficking offences in what is believed to be the first conviction of its type in Ireland.

Alicia Edosa (44) and Edith Enoghaghase (31) were each found guilty on two counts of trafficking women into Ireland on dates between September 2016 and June 2018 contrary to the Criminal Law (Human Trafficking) Act 2008 following a six-week jury trial at Mullingar Circuit Criminal Court.

A 30-year-old man, Omonuwa Desmond Osaibovo, was also found guilty of money laundering offences same day, Friday, June 11.

Two Nigerian women who ran prostitution ring found guilty of human trafficking offences in Ireland

Omonuwa Desmond Osaighbovo (pictured) was found not guilty of a single charge of prostitution, but guilty of four money laundering charges

The trial at Mullingar Circuit Court lasted almost six weeks and heard that four young women from a deprived background in Nigeria had been abused in an underhand way by the three accused.

The trial heard from Counsel for the Director of Public Prosecutions Fiona Murphy SC that it was a tragic case of exploitation by people from Nigeria searching for a better life.

She said the women believed they were coming to Ireland to have an opportunity to engage in legitimate work.

Ms Murphy said all four women took part in a voodoo ceremony before leaving Nigeria for Ireland in which they took an oath to people arranging their journey. On arriving in Ireland, she said the women were told they would have to repay the accused what she described as “extortionate amounts” by engaging in prostitution.

She said the women were used in “a most egregious fashion” by having to travel to various locations around Ireland to engage in prostitution from their base in Mullingar.

The trial heard the woman worked in various locations around Ireland including Limerick and Cork.

One of the victims told the court that she was trafficked into Ireland on the promise of working as a shop assistant was forced into prostitution within days of arriving in the country.

The 26-year-old mother of one, who cannot be named for legal reasons, told the court she felt betrayed.

Before leaving Nigeria, the woman said she was promised that Ireland was “a land of milk and honey” where she could earn up to €3,500 per month doing hair extensions.

The witness described an arduous six-month journey from Nigeria to Ireland in September 2016 via Libya, where she was raped, and Sicily using a false Irish passport.

She told the court that she would never have left Nigeria if she knew what she would be doing in Ireland.

She told the court that if she collected €1,000, the woman said she would have to lodge €990 in a bank and only be allowed to keep €10 for herself, which sometimes left her starving for days.

“I was like a sex machine and money-making machine for her,” the witness added.

The defence had argued that the victims had made the human trafficking claims in order to secure their right to remain in Ireland.

The allegations came to light after the women were able to extricate themselves at various stages and report matters to gardaí.

The trial before Judge Francis Comerford and a jury of ten men and two women lasted over six weeks.

After the trial ended, Judge Comerford thanked the jury for their service and their diligence and excused them from serving on a jury for ten years.

Gardaí thanked the victims for their bravery in coming forward and appealed to anyone who has information on human trafficking to come forward.

Superintendent Dermot Drea thanked the support services including Ruhama for their help and the gardaí who worked so hard in bringing about today’s conviction.

Ruhama, which helps women affected by prostitution, said today’s conviction is “historic” and will serve as an important example to other victims of sexual exploitation that justice is possible.

CEO Barbara Condon said the courage and resilience shown by the victims in the case was staggering. She said their caseworkers have worked tirelessly with the women involved as witnesses for three years and were on-site in a support capacity throughout the hearings.

“The conviction signals a key milestone in the recovery journey of these women who sought to contribute to justice against their perpetrators” she added.

Meanwhile, Minister of State for Civil and Criminal Justice Hildegarde Naughton has also welcomed the convictions.

“Human trafficking is a particularly cruel crime, based on deception and exploitation of vulnerable people, and it is hidden. Due to its hidden nature, it is very difficult to detect and investigate,” she said.

Minister Naughton commended the gardaí for their hard work and said Ireland is committed to playing a role in the fight against human trafficking.

“The verdicts handed down today are a welcome indication that our efforts are paying off,” she added.

The 24-year-old withdrew due to a hip injury and is being replaced in Gareth Southgate’s squad by Sheffield United’s goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.

Ramsdale had been named in an initial 33-man squad though missed out with Henderson, Jordan Pickford, and Sam Johnstone chosen in the final 26.

‘Both dialogue and confrontation with the US is needed’ – Kim Jong Un

North Korean leader, Kim Jong-un has said his hermit nation needs to prepare for both “dialogue and confrontation” with the US.

North Korea had earlier snubbed efforts by President Joe Biden’s administration to establish diplomatic communication between both countries and Kim’s latest remarks tells his country “especially to get fully prepared for confrontation”.

It is the first time Kim has directly commented on Joe Biden’s administration since he assumed office in January 20, 2021.

Kim spoke at a meeting of senior leaders in Pyongyang on Thursday, June 17, after he admitted his country was facing food shortages.

Enforced by the UN and US, North Korea has been banned from importing or exporting food, military equipment, oil and minerals with other nations due to the country’s nuclear program.

North Korea was still illegally doing business with China, its main ally but stopped last year in order to protect his country from the covid-19 pandemic, leading his nation to severe hunger and poor health conditions.

Kim said they needed “especially to get fully prepared for confrontation in order to protect the dignity of our state and its interests for independent development”, as well as to guarantee a peaceful environment and North Korea’s security, according to state media outlet KCNA.

He also said North Korea would “sharply and promptly” react to any developments and “concentrate efforts on taking stable control of the situation on the Korean peninsula”.

Prior to the US election, Biden had called Kim a “thug”, and days before Biden’s inauguration, North Korea put on a show of force with a massive military parade that showcased a new missile.

In April, Biden referred to North Korea as a “serious threat” to global security, prompting an angry response from North Korea which said the statement reflected  Biden’s intent to “keep enforcing the hostile policy” towards the country.

Washington also recently completed a review of its North Korea policy and said that the US would continue to aim for the eventual complete denuclearisation of the Korean peninsula.

Kim had previously met Biden’s predecessor Donald Trump on three occasions, but talks on denuclearisation eventually stalled.

Harvill, who lived in Washington, was hoping to break the record of a 351-foot jump, according to the Moses Lake Airshow, where his attempt was scheduled to occur on Thursday. Before he died he posted a video on his Instagram page showing fans the challenge he was about to undertake.

The video of the practice jump at the Grant County International Airport posted to social media showed Harvill’s motorcycle running directly into the top edge of the large dirt berm being used as his landing ramp, resulting in Harvill been thrown from the bike.

He was trying to break the record set by Australia’s Robbie Maddison on March 29, 2008, according to Guinness World Records.

Harvill already owned a Guinness World Record of his own, with a 297-foot dirt-to-dirt jump in 2013.

“Our deepest sympathies go out to Alex’s family, friends and loved ones,” Grant County Coroner Craig Morrison said in a written statement.

“Coroner Morrison’s staff will conduct an autopsy on Friday to confirm the cause and manner of death, which is normal procedure,” the Grant County Sheriff’s Office said.

The eyewitness said;

The fire was caused by a leaking gas tanker that broke down just after Total Filling station at around 10:30pm causing panic at the filling station that made both staff and customers flee for their lives.

Gennaro Gattuso is set to leave Fiorentina just two weeks after accepting the job over a reported dispute over transfers.

The 43-year-old manager was announced as the new Viola coach on May 25, following his departure from Napoli where he failed to guide his side to the Champions League.

Gattuso was set to officially take over on July 1 ahead of the new season but had already started discussions over transfer plans at the club.

According to several reports, including Sky Sport Italia, Gattuso will leave the club after just over 20 days at the club after falling out with club owner Rocco Commisso over transfer targets.

Reports also claim former Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri is one of the options lined up to replace Gattuso should his exit be confirmed this week.

Other names listed as Gattuso’s successor include former Lyon manager Rudi Garcia, who has been linked to the vacant Everton manager position, while Andrea Pirlo is also available after being sacked by Juventus last month.

The Naira has crashed to a four-year low in the parallel market after the Central Bank’s efforts to coax banks to sell more Dollars to customers failed to bridge the widening gap between the official and street rates.

Unauthorized dealers were offering the naira at 502 per dollar on Wednesday, June 16, from 500 last week, according to abokifx.com.

That’s the weakest since February 2017. The rate widens the spread between the official and the parallel market rate to 22% when compared with the spot rate of 411.13 Naira a Dollar as of Wednesday.

Nigeria, Africa’s biggest economy, has devalued its currency thrice since March last year as lower oil income, which accounts for about 90% of dollar earnings, put pressure on external reserves.

Goldman Sachs Group Inc. forecasts the Naira could weaken to between 440 to 460 a dollar in the short term.

Central Bank Governor Godwin Emefiele met with chief executives of commercial banks last week. The lenders agreed to increase Dollar supply and operate special accounts to meet the requirements of business and travellers, according to Osita Nwanisobi, spokesman for the Central Bank.

The central bank uses lenders to make more foreign currency available to buyers, at around the official rate of between 410 Naira to 412 Naira to the Dollar to reduce pressure on the streets where rates are crashing from excess demand.

“Dollar demand is high; people are buying for storage,” Abubakar Mohammed, chief executive officer of forwarding Marketing Communications bureau de change, told Sahara Reporters over the phone. “There is no effect yet from any increased sales by the banks.”

Sunday Igboho issues warning to the herdsmen to leave South West

Yoruba activist, Sunday Adeyemo popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has given a fresh eviction notice to killer herdsmen in southwest zone saying he will ensure they are all smoked out of the forests very soon.

Igboho gave the fresh order during an interview with his spokesperson, Mr. Oluyomi Koiki, on social media on Wednesday June 16.

“I want all Fulani on Yoruba land to leave. I, myself will monitor compliance to the eviction notice. I don’t issue an order without ensuring compliance. As from Monday, we don’t want to hear of any kidnapping in Yorubaland again. I will show them the stuff Yoruba people are made of.

We will tell them there is clear distinction between Yoruba and Fulani. All these weapons they are brandishing, we will collect them with ease. We will blow ‘wind’ into all the forests in Yoruba land. If we don’t prove to these people who we are now, they will be encroaching on our lands when we achieve our Yoruba nation.” Vanguard quotes him as saying

Igbogho allegedly warned criminal elements hibernating in the forests to leave because henceforth, there must not be any issue of kidnapping again in the zone.

”How can six million people be commanding about 250 million of other Nigerians. Marriage is not by force. We can’t live with you again. Yoruba nation is a vehicle of salvation and I want all Yoruba to board the vehicle and have their seats.”he was quoted as saying

On the calls for the creation of Oduduwa nation, Igboho said

“How can we go back when we are almost in our destination. Those who have not joined us should do so now because there’s no election come 2023. Yoruba will go.”

He appealed to all youths not to insult elders in Yoruba land including the traditional rulers.

“Please, don’t insult our elders again. I don’t want anyone to cast aspersions to our traditional rulers that they have collected money. No, don’t do that. Even, if they were given money, it’s part of common wealth that was stolen.

Don’t fight the police or any security agents. Let’s do our rally peacefully. Tell President Buhari, if he doesn’t understand Yoruba, tell him in English Language that we don’t want bandits in our zone again. Work has begun already and as from Monday, I will begin combing all forests in Yoruba land.”

He dared anyone who claimed to have given him money on the agitation to come forward and say it out now.

“If you know you have given me money that I should shelve Yoruba nation struggle, come out and say it now. No amount of money can stop me from going ahead with this struggle. You can’t kill me. Kill who? Throw bomb at me? If you throw bomb, I, too, will send thunder”.

Nigerian Govt. seeks law to regulate online media

Lai Mohamed describing social media

Days after suspending Twitter’s operation in Nigeria, the Federal government has asked the House of Representatives to amend the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) act to empower the agency to regulate social and online media.

The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, made the request today June 16 during a public hearing organized by the house committee on information, national orientation, ethics and values on a bill to amend the NBC act.

Section two (b) of the NBC act states:

“(1) The Commission shall have [the] responsibility of: Receiving, processing and considering applications for the establishment, ownership or operation of radio and television stations including (i) cable television services, direct satellite broadcast and any other medium of broadcasting.”

FG seeks law to regulate online media

The Minister requested that the commission be allowed to regulate the online media in addition to other channels of broadcasting.

“I want to add here specifically that internet broadcasting and all online media should be included in this because we have a responsibility to monitor contents, including Twitter.”Lai said

This appeal comes days after NBC asked all social media platforms and online broadcasting service providers operating in Nigeria to apply for a broadcast licence.

At the public hearing, media stakeholders however kicked against the move and asked the house panel to make NBC more independent of the minister of information.

While making his contribution at the public hearing, the executive director of the Institute for Media and Society, Akin Akingbulu, said the commission should not receive directives from the minister.

“The power to give directives to the commission, vested in the minister of information in section six should be removed and replaced with powers which include policy formulation for the broadcasting sector” he said

He added that the minister should be involved in the “negotiation of international agreements, notifying the commission of the policy direction of government and ensuring that the independence of the commission is protected at all times.”

Where are the SOCIAL SERVICES in the state, why is the DPP advice silent on all the crimes involved in the entire episodes and all that done against the child, why the silence on all that?”

Ace Footballer, Sergio Ramos to quit Real Madrid after 16 years

Ace footballer, Sergio Ramos will leave Real Madrid on Thursday after failing to agree on a new contract with the Spanish giants.

The Spanish defender, 35, has spent the last 16 years at Real. During that spell, he notched 101 goals in 671 appearances, winning four Champions League and five La Liga titles.

However, Ramos and Real have now called time on his period in the Spanish capital. Ramos will leave ahead of his contract expiring at the end of the month.

“Next, Sergio Ramos will appear before the media at a telematic press conference.”

Elderly woman killed her husband by pouring boiling water mixed with 3kg of sugar while he slept

After 38 years of marriage, a woman has killed her husband by mixing 3kg of sugar with boiling water and pouring it over him while he slept.

Corinna Baines, 59, was married to her elderly husband for 38 years and was his carer at the time she attacked the 81-year-old.

On July 13 last year, the day before the murder, the couple had a dispute when Baines was shopping with her daughter.

Chester Crown Court heard that her husband called and seemed impatient for her to come home.

Baines was said to be angry with him but appeared to have calmed down. Yet later she boiled two kettles’ worth of water and added three bags of sugar into a bucket.

She poured the dangerous mix over Mr Baines’ arms and torso and left the house. He suffered 36% burns to his body and was found by police moaning and in extreme pain.

When Mrs Baines left the house after the attack. she immediately went to a neighbour, sobbing, and said: “I’ve hurt him, I’ve hurt him really bad. I think I’ve killed him.”

Woman murdered her husband by pouring boiling water mixed with 3kg of sugar over him while he was sleeping

Detective chief inspector Paul Hughes said: “To throw boiling water over someone when they are asleep is absolutely horrific.

“To also mix three bags of sugar with the water showed the determination she had to cause serious harm.

“The sugar placed into the water makes it vicious. It becomes thicker and stickier and sinks into the skin better.

“It left Michael in agony and rather than call the emergency services she wasted time by going to a house nine doors away to tell a neighbour, who she wasn’t close to, what she had done.

“Michael was an elderly man who fought for his life after the attack but sadly in the end he passed away.

“My thoughts continue to be with his family at this incredibly difficult time.”

Michael Baines, 81, died a month later, on Tuesday, August 18, 2020.

On Tuesday, June 15, a jury found her guilty of murder following a five-day trial at Chester Crown Court. She will be sentenced on Friday, July 9.

She faces life in prison for the murder at their home in Neston on the Wirral, England.

Update: The South African woman who gave birth to 10 babies disappears

A woman who stunned the world when she reportedly gave birth to ten babies has gone missing, according to the supposed dad of the babies.

Tebogo Tsotetsi says he no longer believes that his girlfriend, Gosiame Thamara Sithole, gave birth to their children.

On June 7 Gosiame became a sensation after it was reported that she gave birth to seven boys and three girls through C-section in Pretoria, South Africa.

Pictures of the babies, who were said to have been conceived naturally and arrived after 29 weeks, and their proud mum were shared online.

But after the government and hospitals questioned the multiple birth, Tebogo Tsotetsi’s suspicions grew and he has now concluded that the “decuplets” do not exist.

The disappointed dad released a statement on Tuesday, June 15, apologising for any “inconvenience and embarrassment” and said that his family has “concluded there are no decuplets”.

According to News24, a missing person case has been opened to locate the missing woman and bring her home safely.

Tebogo Tsotetsi’ statement read: “He (Tsotetsi) made several attempts to visit his girlfriend and the babies but she has failed to disclose her whereabouts and the condition of their babies.

“The current uncertainties and public discourse about the decuplets is of major concern to the family, especially in the absence of any proof of the decuplets existence other than telephonic and WhatsApp messages from the mother.

“The family has resolved and concluded that there are no decuplets born between Tebogo Tsotetsi and Gosiame Sithole, until proven otherwise and wishes to apologise for any inconvenience and embarrassment.”

Gosiame and partner Tebogo Tsotets already have a pair of twins together so the additional ten babies would have brought their kids to 12.

Doctors initially believed Gosiame was expecting six babies, and Tebogo said at the time that he found even that unbelievable.

Family spokesman Russell Baloyi told Times Live: “We realised that as messy as the situation was for the country, given the conflicting statements that have been coming out, it’s about time we put this thing to rest and work on the facts.

“The whereabouts of the mother are still unknown. In terms of the pregnancy, the reality of it was that the mother was pregnant.”

Israel’s Defense Forces(IDF) launched a series of airstrikes into Gaza AGAIN

Israel’s Defense Forces(IDF) launched a series of airstrikes into Gaza after a balloon attack sent incendiary devices floating into southern Israel.

The balloon attacks sparked nearly two-dozen fires in Israel.

The strike which happened early Wednesday morning local time, June 16, targeted Hamas military compounds, according to the IDF.

Explosions lit the night sky above buildings in Gaza City as Israeli forces shelled the Palestinian enclave.

The targets were used by Hamas’ Khan Yunis and Gaza Brigades for “terror activities,” according to the IDF.

Gaza violence restarts as Israel fires airstrikes at Hamas targets after fire balloons are dropped on Israeli territory

The unrest comes after an Israeli nationalist march in East Jerusalem that celebrated the 1967 capture of the city.

“The Hamas terror organization is responsible for all events transpiring in the Gaza Strip, and will bear the consequences for its actions,” the military said in a statement.

“The IDF is prepared for any scenario, including a resumption of hostilities, in the face of continuing terror activities from the Gaza Strip.”

According to the Times of Israel, there were no injuries on both sides of the aisle.

The violence comes just three weeks after a cease-fire halted 11 days of fighting that marked the worst clashes between the IDF and Hamas militants since a small-scale war in 2014.

The ex-jihadi bride has also started wearing Western-style clothes, including jeans and baseball caps.

She explained: “I wear these clothes, and I don’t wear a hijab, because it makes me happy. And anything in this camp that makes me happy is like a lifesaver.”

She said in the camp she enjoys listening to Kanye West’s music.

Talking about how ISIS recruited her online, Shamima aid she was “young and naive” when she decided to leave the UK and join ISIS.

She added: “I knew it was a big decision, but I just felt compelled to do it quickly. I didn’t want to be the friend that was left behind.”

Shamima said ISIS recruiters preyed on the guilt she felt at seeing Muslims suffer in the Syrian conflict.

Filmmaker Alba Sotorra, who directed a documentary about her life, told The Times:

“In the beginning, Shamima was like a ghost just sitting there, covered, lifeless, like a marionette, a doll.”

He added: “Her lack of ability to express her feelings made me feel deeply sad for her.

“Then, maybe two or three months after I met her, we had this game with the kids.

“The kids were playing with kites. Shamima was always very silent.

“And she sat on one of these carts watching. I saw a teardrop fall from her eye. It was the first time.”

In the documentary, which was shot in 2019, she said that after the death of her third child, a son, she stayed up all night with his body.

She said: “He was my last hope, he was the only thing keeping me alive. I didn’t know how.

“That day I just cried for all my children. I cried for all of them. No one could help me, no one could do anything.”

Hungary has passed new anti-LGBT laws ahead of a must win 2022 election for hardline nationalist Prime Minister Viktor Orban.

The legislation passed on Tuesday, June 15 by Hungary’s parliament bans the dissemination of content in schools deemed to promote homosexuality and gender change.

Prime Minister Viktor Orban (pictured above) has rallied against LGBT people and immigrants amid strong criticism from human rights groups and opposition parties.

His Fidesz party, which promotes a Christian-conservative agenda, joined the proposal banning school talks on LGBT issues to a another bill that strictly penalizes pedophilia, making it much harder for opponents of the anti-LGBT bill to vote against it.

A mass rally was held outside parliament on Monday, June 14. But on Tuesday Fidesz lawmakers overwhelmingly backed the legislation.

According to the law, under-18s cannot be shown any content that encourages gender change or homosexuality. This also applies to advertisements. The law sets up a list of organizations allowed to provide education about sex in schools.

Hungary is one of the few European countries where
gay marriage is not recognized.

In the country only heterosexual couples can legally adopt children.

Orban’s government defined marriage as the union between one man and one woman in the constitution, and limited gay adoption.

Other countries like Russia, Poland, Romania have also passed similar laws and at are odds with European Union over some of their gay supporting reforms and laws.

The European Parliament’s rapporteur in Hungary, Greens lawmaker Gwendoline Delbos-Corfield, slammed the new law on Tuesday: “Using child protection as an excuse to target LGBTIQ people is damaging to all children in Hungary.”

“You are not only elected to borrow money for Nigeria” – Wike tells Buhari

Governor Nyesom Wike has accused President Buhari of attempting to shift his constitutional role of securing lives and property to governors.

Recall that during an interview with Arise TV on Thursday, Buhari said he told two south-west governors who came to meet him in Abuja, to return to their states and tackle the security challenges their people are facing because they also campaigned for their position just like him.

Reacting to this while commissioning the 21-kilometre Odufor-Akpoku-Umuoye Road in Etche Local Government Area of the State on Tuesday June 15, Wike enjoined the federal government to admit that it can no longer fulfil the promises it made to Nigerians, adding that admitting weakness publicly when there is failure makes a leader respectable.

He also mocked the President by saying that he is not only in-charge when it comes to borrowing money for the country.

Wike said;

“Mr President, you are the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. You appoint Inspector-General of Police, you appoint the Chief of Army Staff, Chief of Naval Staff, the Commissioner of Police, Director of Department of State Service, and other heads of security.

“Which one do we appoint? How can people appointed by Mr President be under me?

“It is not only to borrow money for Nigeria that you’re in charge. You must also be in charge of other things including security. Who signed order 10? Is it the governors?

“Mr. President was short of calling names of those governors who run to Aso Rock when they are supposed to stay in their states to see the needs of their states and people. Mr. President should have come out openly and said, my APC governors, stop worrying me. Go back to your states and do your work. On that, I support him.

“Thank God, Mr. President knows that I am not one of those that go to visit him over one problem or the other. I, as the governor of Rivers under PDP, you’ll never find me there.”

A ‘possessive’ husband beat and critically injured his wife with a crowbar at a bus stop in New York as witnesses watched in horror, then called police to turn himself in.

Julio Aponte, 63, used the crowbar to repeatedly bash his 49-year-old wife in the head at about 7 a.m. Monday June 14 at the corner of W. 163rd St. and Fort Washington Ave., screaming accusations like “How dare you cheat on me!” Police said.

He then ran away from the crime scene on a motorcycle, leaving his bloodied wife behind while shocked witnesses called police.

Shortly afterward the violent husband ditched the motorcycle on the road and called 911 himself to turn himself in, cops said.

Police found the crowbar, wrapped in plastic, as well as Aponte’s backpack at the scene of the attack, police say.

The woman was then rushed to New York-Presbyterian Hospital Columbia in cardiac arrest, after she suffered severe head trauma, police said. She remains in critical condition as at Tuesday, June 15.

Police have charged Aponte with attempted murder and assault. He awaits arraignment in Manhattan criminal court.

New York City to offer $2500 cash prize each to 10 lucky winners for getting COVID-19 vaccine

The city of New York has announced it will be giving out $2500 cash to 10 lucky New Yorkers who get vaccinated against COVID-19.

According to New York Mayor,  De Blasio’s office, the effort is to encourage more people to get vaccinated.

The Mayor’s office announced that winners will be picked through a lottery to receive the cash after getting a COVID shot and the cash payments will come in the form of debit cards.

According to de Blasio’s office the $2500 can “make a massive difference in people’s lives.”

More than 8.7 million New Yorkers had gotten vaccinated as of Tuesday morning, June 15, to the mayor’s office and New York Governor, Andrew Cuomo has already lifted up major restrictions in the state that was the hotspot for COVID-19 in the US during the pandemic.

Mayor De Blasio recently said the city likely wouldn’t meet his goal of having 5 million people fully vaccinated by the end of June but they will still fight to get close to that number.

This is not the first incentive the city has given for people to get vaccinated.

In New York City, offers have included everything from Yankees and Mets tickets to free eats, along with lottery tickets.

The feds are promoting cruise sweepstakes and dating app perks as well.

“We continue to add incentives. We continue to make it more and more exciting for people,” de Blasio boasted at a Tuesday, June 15 press conference.

“Vaccination continues to be the key, but we also love that we’re seeing more and more activity out in the streets, more and more tourism, more and more jobs coming back,” he added.

Young man accidentally shoots friend while showing off his new gun

A man accidentally shot his friend in the neck as he showed off his new weapon, police say.

Alec Augustino Braz, 22, mistakenly fired his pistol at his 19-year-old friend at around 3.15pm on Saturday, June 1.

The shooting happened not long after Braz got his license to carry a gun, Newsweek reports.

Woburn Police Department near Boston in Massachusetts revealed in a statement that Braz is suspected of discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building, improper storage of a firearm, and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Police handcuffed Braz on multiple firearm offences shortly after the shooting.

Police explained that Braz was showing the gun to his friend in his Woburn home on Saturday afternoon when he accidentally pulled the trigger on his guest who has not been named.

Another friend then drove the victim to a local hospital with injuries which the police department report to be non-life-threatening.

According to Newsweek, a .40 caliber Smith and Wesson pistol was seized from Braz by officers from the Woburn Police Department following the shooting on Saturday.

Braz also had his newly gained gun license suspended by police chief Robert F Rufo Jr.

Lionel Messi confessed that he may have contracted Covid-19 whilst on Copa America

Messi 'agrees to €700m Man City contract'

Argentina striker, Lionel Messi has confessed that he fears about contracting COVID-19 while on international duty for the Copa America amid increasing cases of infections among rival teams.

Players and officials from Bolivia, Colombia and Venezuela tested positive for Covid-19 virus even before the tournament kicked off with Brazil’s 3-0 victory over depleted Venezuela in Brasilia.

Messi said the fear of contracting the virus was widespread in the squad.

“It worries us because it is a risk for everyone catching Covid,” he said. “We try to be careful but it’s not easy. These things happen.

“We’ll try to do all we can so no one gets it but sometimes it doesn’t depend solely on ourselves.”

According to reports, Messi is not believed to have been vaccinated.

Brazil won the tournament two years ago, beating Argentina in the semi-final in a controversial match, and Messi said he was desperate to finally replicate his club success at the international level.

“I think this is the time to strike a blow and the chance could come in this Copa America,” said the Barcelona forward and six-time winner of the Ballon d’Or for best player in the world.

“My big dream is to win a title with the national team. I was very close on many occasions and unfortunately, it didn’t work out. I will keep going until I can’t anymore.”

“I’ve been lucky enough to win everything at a club level and on an individual level and it would be beautiful to win with the national team as well.”

Cristiano Ronaldo responds to transfer rumours after being linked with Manchester United and PSG

Cristiano Ronaldo has addressed the speculation surrounding his future amid links with a return to Manchester United and a move to Paris Saint-Germain.

Last month, reports claimed that the 36-year-old is seriously considering a move back to Old Trafford, while Juventus are open to offloading the Portuguese forward.

Paris Saint-Germain are also linked with a move for Ronaldo with reports in Spain claiming that the French club have opened talks over a £25m deal.

Speaking with journalists on the eve of Portugal’s opening fixture with Hungary on Tuesday, the 36-year-old said: ‘I have been playing at the highest level for many years this doesn’t faze me, maybe if I was 18 or 19 I might have had some sleepless nights, but I’m 36,’ Ronaldo said at a press conference on Monday.

‘It’s like I say, whatever comes, it will be for good. Regardless of whether you stay or leave, that’s not the most important right now.

‘The most important thing is to focus on the national team, a competition of this magnitude is not played every day, I’m going to play the fifth European but in my mind it’s like the first.

‘I want to start on the right foot, I want to win, I want to play well and I want to have positive thoughts, from the beginning to the end of the competition.’

Ronaldo also stressed that he is still comfortable playing in various positions for Portugal.

‘I feel comfortable playing up front, as always,’ said Ronaldo.

‘Left, right, front, back, wherever it’s best to help the team win.

‘That’s the most important thing, regardless of the fact that I play in the position that I like the most. Any position suits me. The important thing is to win and help the national team.’

Saudi Arabia executed a man after offensive photo was found on his phone

A 26-year-old man in Saudi Arabia has reportedly been put to death after an ‘offensive’ photograph was found on his phone following anti-government protests he took part in at the age of 17.

The young man identified as Mustafa al-Darwish was executed despite promises from the desert kingdom that the death penalty would no longer apply for offences committed when defendants were children, according to Daily Mail.

At the age of 17, Mustafa was reportedly been caught up in Arab Spring protests among the country’s Shi’ite minority which swept through the Eastern Province region in 2011 and 2012.

Three years later, in 2015, he was arrested and accused of a range of offences such as ‘seeking to disrupt national cohesion through participation in more than 10 riots’.

Man, 26,

The then 20-year-old was released without charge, his family said, but police confiscated his phone and found a photograph that offended them.

Mustafa was then placed in solitary confinement and his family said he lost consciousness several times during brutal interrogation sessions.

He later said he confessed to the crimes under torture and recanted them in court saying he had only admitted to the offences to make the beatings stop, according to his family.

Following his conviction, he spent six years on Death Row before being executed on Tuesday.

His family, who only discovered he had been put to death after reading a news report online, said: ‘Six years ago, Mustafa was arrested with two of his friends in the streets of Tarout. The police released him without charge but confiscated his phone. We later found that there was a photograph on the phone that offended them.’

‘Later they called us and told Mustafa to come and collect his phone, but instead of giving it back they detained him and our suffering began. How can they execute a boy because of a photograph on his phone? Since his arrest we have known nothing but pain. It is a living death for the whole family.’

At his subsequent trial, the charge sheet made specific reference to a ‘photograph that was offensive to the security services’.

Over the past five years, Saudi Arabia has made repeated pledges not to execute anyone for offences committed when they were children.

There was an outcry when, despite the promises, six young such men formed part of a mass execution that saw 37 people put to death on April 23rd, 2019.

In April 2020 the Saudi Human Rights Commission announced a Royal Decree extending the Juvenile Law and later insisted that ‘no one in Saudi Arabia will be executed for a crime committed as a minor’.

In February 2021, the Riyadh authorities told the UN Human Rights Council that ‘anyone who commits a death-eligible crime as a child’ will be subject to ‘a maximum sentence of ten years in a juvenile institution’.

With  Mustafa’s execution, campaigners fear that other youngsters, including one who was just 14 at the time of his alleged crimes, could also die.

Reprieve Director Maya Foa said: ‘It is not enough for Saudi Arabia’s partners to ‘raise human rights issues’, as British Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab reportedly did on his recent visit to the Kingdom.

‘They need to raise specific cases, and make clear that executions for childhood crimes will not be tolerated. Otherwise Abdullah al-Howaiti, arrested aged 14 and sentenced to death at 17, could be next’.

Nigeria lost billions of Naira due to Twitter ban

Nigeria has lost N24.72bn in 10 days due to the Twitter ban imposed by the Federal government.

The Federal government on June 5 placed an indefinite suspension of the operations of the microblogging app in Nigeria after the site took down a tweet posted on the President’s handle.

The Federal government last week said the microblogging site has since reached out for discussions and that the Federal government will now give operating licence to such sites if they want to operate in Nigeria.

According to NetBlocks Cost of Shutdown Tool, an international Internet monitor, Nigeria loses N102.9m ($250,600) every hour to the ban.

The digital rights advocacy platform estimates the economic impact of an internet disruption, mobile data blackout or app restriction using indicators from the World Bank, International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Eurostat amongst others. According to its analysis, an estimated N2.1 billion naira was lost when Nigeria shut down Twitter for 24 hours.

According to a report by Statista, Nigeria has about 33 million active social media users with about 26 per cent on Twitter.

The Director-General of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture, Ayoola Olukanni, while commenting on the ban, said it has a more adverse effect on micro, small and medium businesses who rely on social media to conduct their business.

“Communication is a significant part of sales and marketing in this digital age.  Consequently, the Twitter ban will likely impact negatively and disrupt businesses especially Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises who rely on social media, such as Facebook, Instagram including Twitter to conduct business.

It will therefore most likely negatively impact the IT sector of the economy which is already facing several other challenges.

While it may be considered that there are alternative social media platforms, the abrupt nature of the suspension would mean a loss of existing contacts and a cost of migration.

We must of course also not and cannot, discountenance the national security dimension of the misuse of social media and micro-blogging platforms to inspire violence outside its use to conduct Business.”Olukanni said

Meghan Markle becomes the most ‘respected royal’ in the world

Meghan Markle has been named “the most popular royal” ahead of Kate Middleton in a new study.

A new poll conducted by youth health charity stem4 analysed the interest in a number of celebrities and public figures, including musicians, online creators, sports people and public figures.

Data on members of the Royal Family was collected to show who was deemed the most respected.

Meghan garnered 21% of the vote, making her far more popular with the 1,032 people polled than Kate Middleton, who garnered just 11%.

The study surveyed 1032 people between the ages of 13 and 25.

Meghan was praised for her “bravery and resilience” and for carrying on “even when things go wrong”.

Prince Harry and Prince William also made the list with 21 percent and 11 percent respectively.

Those who took part in the study also named other celebrities who they look up to.

Marcus Rashford, Lewis Hamilton and Raheem Sterling were the most admired sports people.

David Attenborough, Captain Tom Moore and Greta Thunberg were deemed the most inspiring people.

Founder and CEO at stem4 Dr Nihara Krause said: “To earn the respect of young people today you don’t need to earn a fortune or have good looks.

“It’s far more important that you show bravery, resilience, and compassion for others and for nature.

“Those are certainly qualities the Queen shares with some of the other names on this list such as David Attenborough and Marcus Rashford.

“It’s also significant that many of the most admired famous people are those, like Billie Eilish and Prince Harry, who have been open about their own mental health challenges.”

NATO warns China’s military ambitions threaten global peace

Transatlantic security alliance, NATO for the first time has warnes China in its communique following it’s summit in Brussels on Monday, June 14.

NATO confronted China’s military ambitions for the first time, saying Beijing presents “systemic challenges” for the transatlantic security alliance.

NATO warns China?s military ambitions threaten global order

The communique marks a diplomatic victory for US President Joe Biden, who had urged the 30-member strong alliance to stand up to China’s burgeoning military, political and economic might.

The language by the alliance will now set the path for alliance policy and comes a day after the G7 nations slammed China in a statement, calling the country out for it’s alleged human rights abuses in China and Hong Kong.

“China’s stated ambitions and assertive behaviour present systemic challenges to the rules-based international order and to areas relevant to alliance security,” NATO’s 79-point communique said.

It accused Beijing of “rapidly expanding its nuclear arsenal” and being “opaque in implementing its military modernisation”, as well as highlighting China’s military cooperation with Russia in exercises in the Euro-Atlantic region as a concern.

“We call on China to uphold its international commitments and to act responsibly in the international system, including in the space, cyber, and maritime domains, in keeping with its role as a major power,” the communique said.

Addressing reporters following the summit, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said there was a “strong convergence of views among allies” regarding the challenges posed by Beijing’s behaviour.

“Leaders agreed that we need to address such challenges as an alliance and that we need to engage with China to defend our security interests,” he said.

Biden said the alliance’s mutual defence pact was a “sacred obligation” for the US a marked shift in tone from his predecessor Donald Trump, who had threatened to withdraw from the alliance and accused Europeans of contributing too little to their own defence.

“I want all Europe to know that the United States is there,” said Biden. “NATO is critically important to us.”

Germany’s Chancellor Angela Merkel, who attended her last summit of the alliance before she steps down in September, described Biden’s arrival as the opening of a new chapter. She also said it was important to deal with China as a potential threat.

“If you look at the cyber threats and the hybrid threats, if you look at the cooperation between Russia and China, you cannot simply ignore China,” Merkel told reporters.

“But one must not overrate it, either – we need to find the right balance.”

Biden said both Russia and China were not acting “in a way that is consistent with what we had hoped”.

UEFA looks into Marko Arnautovic’s alleged racist outburst against North Macedonia

UEFA has appointed an ethics and disciplinary inspector to investigate Austria striker Marko Arnautovic’s reaction to his goal against North Macedonia.

The former West Ham striker, who is currently playing his football in China with Shanghai Port, was restrained by skipper David Alaba as he gestured angrily after scoring late in Sunday’s 3-1 Group C victory in Romania.

He allegedly made a racial slur following his late strike, saying ‘I’m f***ing your Albanian mother’ in the direction of Ezgjan Alioski, according to Koha.

A UEFA statement said: “In accordance with the Article 31(4) of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations, an Ethics and Disciplinary Inspector has been appointed to conduct an investigation regarding the incident involving the player Marko Arnautovi? that occurred during the 2020 European Championship group-stage match between the national teams of Austria and North Macedonia on 13 June 2021.

“Further information on this matter will be made available in due course.”

The incident came in the 89th minute of the game after Arnautovic scored and appeared to make comments towards opposition players and then turned towards spectators.

Reports have alleged his initial remarks were aimed at defender Egzon Bejtulai and Gjanni Alioski, who both have Albanian roots.

The reason for the slur appears to relate to the Kosovo War, in which Serbia and Albania came into conflict over the Kosovo region.

Arnautovic later apologised for his outburst, but insisted he was not a racist.

In a post on his official Instagram account, he wrote: ‘There were some heated words yesterday in the emotions of the game for which I would like to apologise – especially to my friends from North Macedonia and Albania.

‘I would like to say one thing very clearly: I am not a racist. I have friends in almost every country and I stand for diversity. Everyone who knows me is aware of that.’

UEFA open investigation into Marko Arnautovic

UEFA introduced a 10-match ban for discrimination in 2013 and it is the minimum punishment that the organisation’s control, ethics and disciplinary body can issue for racist behaviour.

If found guilty, Arnautovic would miss all of Austria’s remaining participation in this tournament, and his absence would extend into the club’s World Cup qualifying campaign.

‘People have been threatening to kill me’ – EFCC Boss

Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abdulrasheed Bawa has said that he’s been receiving death threats since he was appointed chairman of the anti-graft agency.

Bawa disclosed this during an interview on Channels Television’s breakfast programme, Sunrise Daily.

He recalled how someone who isn’t investigated by the agency, threatened to kill him. The EFCC Chairman said;

“Last week I was in New York. A very senior citizen received a phone call from somebody who is not even under EFCC investigation. What he said to him is that I am going to kill the EFCC boss, the young man.

“This to tell you how real corruption can fight back. Yes because if you look at it, almost everywhere there are elements of it (corruption), but I am very optimistic we will succeed in taming the monster of corruption in this country.”

Bawa also revealed that the commission is expending energy on how to crack down on the gatekeepers of the proceeds of corruption in the country.

He said;

“Our attention is geared toward dealing with the issue of the utilization of funds whether in the private or public sector. We are looking at the avenue in which they are laundering the proceeds.

“We are looking forward to dealing with what we call gatekeepers in money laundering to have rigorous and effective control over them.”

He added that since Nigerians are very religious, the commission has designed a manual to engage religious bodies.

The EFCC Chairman said;

“Nigeria is a very religious country and that is why one of the issues that we do in public enlightenment is to engage with leaders of religious bodies.

“We are soon going to launch our interface with the Christian and Islamic communities to engage them on the ills of corruption.

“We have already designed the manual for that.”

See massive penis statue erected in Thailand village to bring forth rain

Villagers in Yothaka, in Thailand’s Chachoengsao province, ended a period of drought by building a giant erect penis statue.

Farmers in the area had been concerned that there hadn’t been enough rain recently and that water from irrigation canals was too salty and had been damaging crops.

To call forth the rain, a giant penis statue, or “Palad Khik”, was erected on Jun 9.

This week. local village headman, Chamnan Kenthongdaeng, 52, told a press conference that on June 11, just two days after the giant penis was installed it had started raining, with a shower that lasted about half an hour.

Koson Samang, the headman of a nearby village, had made a video of the rain as proof.

However, local farmers complained that the brief shower hadn’t been long enough to irrigate their fields.

Chamnan 52, promised that prayers to the phallus will continue.

He told Pattaya News that erecting a Palad Khik, representing fertility and new growth, was a local tradition going back decades, to the time of his grandparents.

Chamnan said that the giant penis, built in the middle of the road, wouldn’t cause any problems with traffic, because it was built on a cul-de-sac.

“It will be removed as soon as the seasonal rain comes,” he promised.

Meanwhile, local residents are being encouraged to pray to the gigantic penis and leave small offerings.
